I've recently rediscovered my Pokemon Sapphire and Fire Red games, and I have a question concerning the Game Boy Player for the Game Cube.
Can the GB Player be used like a second GBA for trading between the games, or would I still need a second GBA?
Yes, you can hook up a link cable and trade between the two
w00t! Now to decide whether to buy Ruby and Leaf Green, or just AR the ones I'm missing. I've already decided to AR the tickets.
I'm assuming the player itself has a link cable port?
Yep it does, right above the cartridge port
Muchos gracias, Hiro.
No problem, glad I could help
The slot is also designed to take the wireless adapters that worked with Fire Red/Leaf Green if you have two of those as well.
Nifty!
You can also use the e-Reader with the GBPlayer. I have all of the Ruby/Sapphire e-Cards.
Oh, do you have the Colosseum Bonus Disc? You'll need it to fix a bug in the game's timekeeping system or it will glitch up after about 100 hours. You'll need the disc, a GameCube and a GBA-GCN cable to connect your GBA through a GCN controller port.

Ha, I remember that. I also remember the time fix was included in FireRed/LeafGreen and can be uploaded to Ruby/Sapphire by employing a second GBA (or GBPlayer) and a link cable.
Yeah, I managed to get the R/S Berry Glitch fixed at one of my local Game Stops. Got a spiffy shiny Zigzagoon out of the deal as well.
Yeah, but you get Jirachi only through that disc...
Eh, I can always AR Jirachi. I wasn't about to preorder a game just for one Pokemon.
