Some people may be dissapointed it's not a fully fledged Resi Evil game compared to either the originals or the Resi4/5, but I fairly expected this and I loved Umbrella Chronicles as it was.

I should imagine that this will detail Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica. (And maybe Resident Evil 4 to capitalise on the Leon/Claire angle?)

Slightly dissapointed that this might not mean a proper REmake of 2 or CV, but I was happy with UC anyway so this might actually make me pull my wii back out.

More scans over here.

For those wondering why you can see Leon and Claire during the gameplay screens that because when you are playing solo, the character you aren 't using will appear next to you. When playing co-op, however, you don't see them. Also the game cover RE2, Code Veronica and RE4.

Hmm, just had a thought. Umbrella Chronicles covered 4 scenarios:- Resident Evil 0, 1, 3 (with a small smattering of 2 side missions featuring Ada and Hunk) plus a new scenario featuring Umbrella's End.

Darkside Chronicles has only got three so far:- Resident Evil 2, Code Veronica and RE4. Sounds reasonable that there might be a new scenario featuring Claire and Leon or, even more likely in my opinion, a scenario based on Resident Evil Degeneration, especially as it features the same principal characters. Either way, I'm excited.

I'd agree that a Degen scenario sounds likely. Hopefully this time they'll bother to animate the RE2 map properly this time, rather than use Outbreak rips from 2002. Plus, given they ripped REmake's mansion (beautifully) for the first game, nothing stopping them from making Nintendo RE2make.

But that's wishful thinking.

I'm most excited to play Code V in this. Picturing a Steve scenario with the golden lugers or the sub-machine guns is epic. Also Bandersnatches.

Hurry, Capcom. This is a guaranteed purchase, and you don't even need Wesker to sell it to me this time.

Hmm. I agree that this makes any dream of a RE2make less likely, but considering the way Capcom's been going it seems like just a pipe dream anyway. But still, I loved UC, and this news satisfies me to no end.

O.O!!!!!!! YES! ALTHOUGH I have them for 'cube..PORTS ARE MINE!!!

But I can't play UC. Why? I am the WORST. THE WORST. FPS'er...known to man.

Well, it's a Light Gun game, not an FPS. FPS implies free roaming, Umbrella was on the rails. Also I have played far worse than UC. It was dang hard, exciting and the weapons/ammo system wasn't too bad. I've played so so much worse.

Not too concerned with the ports, I doubt the Wiimote will add anything to either game and if it doesn't add anything then why not play the same game on the same system (Wii plays Gamecube, afterall) for a lower price.

After watching all the cutscenes in RE5, I feel I was ripped off by UC for the Wesker plot. I kind of feel violated at how ignored all that was.

Given this will more or less be an adaption of RE2 (saw some classic cutscenes in there) I doubt this DSC will hurt me.

The japanese versions of the wiiports of RE0 and 1 had limited waggle functions and even then added nothing to the game or just felt shoehorned in. These ports are ridiculously and NOT worth buying. They are essentially the exact same as the Gamecube versions, except for on release they'll be sold for full price. What's the point in buying them when you can buy the GC versions that will still play on your wii for infinitely cheaper?

That said, if the sales are crap than Capcom might just assume that fans therefore don't like the older style of Resi Evil and therefore will not bother with REmaking RE2. =(

On the flipside, if sales are good, then Capcom might assume that they can just be lazy bastards anyway and rerelease the original PS1 RE2 for wii instead, like they did on the Gamecube. >=(

I'm just happy to see them revisit the RE2 areas. I liked Umbrella Chronicles and I missed Claire a whole lots. =3

Edit: Wow, my reply to the Madworld topic was posted here on accident....

It better damnwell be her, this is the first game in over a decade (RE3) to acknowledge the girl's existance. Given that she's a living sample of G, she really should have had more closure to her story than Claire abandoning her and the military picking her up (/Leon's employers bargaining her safety for his cooperation?).

I'm still annoyed that "Claire abandons her after the ending" was how they dealt with the Ripley/Newt relationship the two of them gained during the game. It just felt like throwing some development in the fire to Flanderize her into "Where is my brother, where is my brother, have you seen a little girl, short black hair?"

Supposedly according to one of the Wesker Reports, Sherry somehow ended up in the hands of Wesker and was thus the cause of much debate over the tube girl screenshot being her. Seeing as how she was never mentioned in RE5, who knows if that fact's still valid. I agree though, Sherry needs more closure. Hell, all of the characters do. Where the hell is my Rebecca? (Is it too much to ask for a Rebecca side mission to explain her events during Raccoon if she was still in the city, like the Ada/HUNK missions from Umbrella Chronicles?)

There was a second version of Wesker's Report 1 that retcons the Sherry tidbit by omitting the lines that claim "Sherry is safe in our hands".

I'm still annoyed that "Claire abandons her after the ending" was how they dealt with the Ripley/Newt relationship the two of them gained during the game.

"Oh hey Leon, long time no see. So, how's Sherry?"
"Lungs, flooded with fluid. Ergo, she drowned."
"..."

EDIT: IGN confirms new Leon scenario, takes place 2 years before RE4, and Krauser's your partner! Also confirmed: that new girl? Not Sherry. 🙁

Speaking of umbrella Chronicles. I wish there was an Alternate Universe where Richard Didn't throw himself in front of everybody! Geeze. I want to see Chris eaten by a shark! Being a Selfless Hero doesn't work out for the best in these kinds of situations! ><. And its like..every time they remake the game I just feel more sorry for him because he becomes more noble and selfless and likeable.
