I haven't seen Jolly ranchers in England for years, pity they were nice.
and on the controller, I lose enough crap in my room without two parts of a wireless controller to add to it, this is why I don't own a wavebird or the like

Well....

As for the Revolution controller it's really hard to say the idea looks too bizzare, yeah it probably sounds like a good idea on paper, but that doesn't mean it's going to work, who knows maybe it will?

But here is one fact for sure, the Revolution(whatever the hell the final name will be) will never be successful, it's far less powerful that the Xbox 360, PS3 and Lindbergh arcade machine, the games themselves will have the Nintendo brand name: Meaning games for kiddies and loads of lame-ass sports titles and sequels with thier franchises' names slapped on it. With games like Mario Football,Pokemon Black and grey e.t.c many gamers(except fanboys) will steer clear away from the Revolution.

Another thing is that the Revolution's existance is still in question, due to the fact that it has no final name,no games, no screenshots, no blu Ray DVD format, no HDTV and that Nintendo just annouced that it loss $1.5 billion dollars on Gamecube and will cut the price of DS and will put a small damper on the Revolution project according to ign.com.

Another thing, the idea of downloading classic Nintendo titles and having to pay $50 for the add on while you could be charged alot, may and will be taken by someone else and will be made successful by someone else., Time Warner and SEGA have already struck a deal to launch a SEGA channel like- gaming service for Xbox,360,PS2 and PS3 that let's any user downloads dozens of games from any console of the past for a $15 monthly fee starting next year called "Gametap" starting next year, 11 years after SEGA channel(It only works with a broadband connection that why GC owners are out of luck.)

One question though, HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO PLAY SUPER MARIO KART OR SMW2 WITH THAT WEIRD CONTROLLER?!

Awfully sure of this, are you? In case you haven't noticed, Nintendo doesn't really care about 'graphics power'. They innovate; after all, we haven't really moved beyond the standard controller set-up since the NES D-Pad (with the additions of shoulder buttons and analog sticks since then). And the cliche that Nintendo is 'kiddy' is old, dead, and gone; have you not heard of Eternal Darkness? Resident Evil 4? Geist? And just for the record, almost all of Nintendo's games are much better than about 95% of the games out there. The last 5% are on the same level, with only about 0.1% being better.

You still believe that?

Gee. Most consoles tend to have worse sales near the end of their life. How shocking.

If you mean this article, then you left out something:

Due to fluctuations in the value of the dollar, however, Nintendo is revising its first-half net profit estimate to 36 billion yen instead of the previously forecast 19 billion yen.

You skimped out on information that was positive about Nintendo! Amazing. :annoyed

Where do you get 50$? Link please.

And seeing as how you'll be downloading games on the REVOLUTION, the fact the Gamecube has no broadband (a lie, considering there's a broadband modem add-on...although the odds of finding one are slim) doesn't really matter in the overall equation, eh?

Geist sucks and you know it.

AS for RE4 it didn't sell as big as Nintendo hoped, it was supposed to be a Gamecube exclusive! But now it has just been released on PS2. Okay, Name some other mature games that EVERYBODY OWNS not just fanboys.

Great graphics and powerful hardware don't add anything. The Gamecube might not have compared to the XBox and PS2 in sales in America (I'm not so sure in Europe or Japan where the latter, I think the GC did better then XBox), but considering all the beloved Nintendo characters in there is reason enough for people to want a Revolution, not to mention the ability to play every since Nintendo game since the NES days. It's enough to make me waste money on it.

Sure, majority will be fanboys, but goodness sake, kiddy doesn't automatically guarantee that it'll suck.

I was referring to the fact it was an M-Rated title, thus debunking the whole 'kiddy' cliche. Not that I needed to debunk it; it was already debunked.

And Metroid Prime 1 and 2, they may not have high age rating, but I'll be damned if they're accused of being kiddy.

Which, if Pat has forgotten, Nintendo is responsible for, if it wasn't for the N64 analog stick and Super Mario 64 as a template, 3D games would still be stuck in the old Tomb Raider/ResE style of turning on the spot rather than free movement.

Forgive my ignorance, but didn't the 32-bit Playstation outsell the 64-bit N64?

That would just be just too ironic if it were true, so I'm probably not rating the power of the two machines properly, that said, I'm an average market consumer and we don't know anything about the power beyond the number they stick on the box, and N64 had a higher number, so as far as the average consumer is concerned it is more powerful, and because it's more powerful it MUST have sold better!

Mature games for Gamecube. That fanboys dont buy? In go away for a week and I miss this? There arent any really. for any console. People will buy games if they are interested in the product.

Im not bothered about looks and styles of games period. As long as a game plays well it can look like absolute poop.

Sonic Heroes (easy target true but Formula Ones on in a minute) Had all the Charm and look and style of the Mega Drive games It was concentrate of the good stuff. Its a shame that it was random if you died and basically poor.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks It looks a bit rubbish to be honest. the style does have its charm though. Its got a level structure similar to Fable (well i think anyway) but they havent spent too much time on graphics and spent more time on gameplay. Seriously I may never get bored of uppercutting an Oni Demon (Yes I know Oni is japanese for Demon but ask Ed Boon before me ok) into a pit of spikes. Whilst getting a 30 hit combo. TOASTY! i say.

I thought Oni was japanese for ogre ans Ashura was japanese for demon...maybe I missed something (again).

Good to hear Shaolin Monks is good, I hope to get it soon. ^^

Hmmm. Well that did come from the MK Online forum. from far back as MK: Deadly Alliance. (Just never say Reiko=Kahn on there You will probably die) Im pretty sure because there was a big fuss about it. Why would you call your self "Demon Demon".

About Shaolin Monks it is very fun. The puzzles in it arent Key + Lock = Unlocked Door. Ooh no its much more fun.

Ko-Op mode I havent played very much but silly me I got used to single player mode and then played Ko-Op with mum. Heart rate increased as she moved the screen away from my fight. Words were said. It ended happily with me saying sorry and a cup of coffee.

Yeah I play a few games with my mum.
Our battles in Soul Calibur 1 and 2, Tekken 3 and Tag and Sonic 2 are legendary. Days have been lost.
Mean Bean Machine and Bust A Move as well.

She cant get used to 3D games after years with the 2D Sonic Games. She hated Sonic Adventure and prefers to watch.

Her favourite game at the moment is Blue Sphere. she was on 20335 or something like that the last time i looked on SMC+.

My dad used to love playing games but all this 3D stuff is too much for him. He'll play Command & Conquer Generals or Warcraft 3 for hours on end, but he won't play Black & White 2 or Homeworld.

What's wrong with parents gaming? My dad's been gaming longer than I have, he was playing Chucky Egg on the Commadore 64 since I was toddling. He's currently proving to be the world's most talented Tomb Raider player (he managed to complete Tombie 3 with every secret, + an extra secret from the Pacific level's alternate route... without cheating!) and likes to play every new Medal of Honor game as they're released.

He beat all the MGS and Final Fantasy games I bought and was the one who bought the Playstation 1 and bought the PS2 off of me when we lived in seperate houses.

Parents + Gaming = PWNAGE!

My Dad only plays Streets of Rage, but he is quite good at it. He's never gotten used to any other game though, which is a shame.

This is just another reason why I needs to import Gems...

I have no problem with parents playing games, too. While my parents don't, my dad had once played Mario kart 64 and enjoyed it (although when I try to get him to play Crash Team Racing, he didn't do so well because of the different controls).

Halo. Halo 2.

My dad, my little brother, and myself all play them. Especially Warthog tumble on Halo's Blood Gulch (back when the physics were more jumpy). I usually win in normal gametypes, unless they enforce weird rules on me (as in, no shooting-only melee, or only moving while crouching). Between themselves, they're pretty well-matched.

They also like to play the Tony Hawk games (particularly Tony 2 on the Dreamcast), and they love to watch me play Katamari Damacy and We <3 Katamari. (But, that's they said...)

I envy you guys having families that are gaming inclined. I'm only one of my family who is still a gamer, but it didn't use to be that way. My Dad was a Frogger addict back in the day. My brother and sister grew up with Atari, and My brother knew how to program for a commodore 64. My first gaming experience was on my sister's NES, and She played my SNES more then I did. My sister and brother-in-law where my primary rivals in Diddy Kong Racing and Super Smash Brothers. Unforanately the most any of my family plays as far as electonic games goes is solitaire on the computer, and the occasional on-line game.

You mean the one with Giga Bowser? Duh.
2:45:20 with Mario,
1:50:01 with Yoshi.

I've heard people say that Jigglypuff or Peach work better, but I find it takes way too long to kill Mewtwo and Ganondorf and I can never do it in less than 4 minutes.

Although the controller is different, I'm more worried about comfort than anything. I have sat with a DualShock controller for about 20 hours straight and not felt uncomfortable, and about 17 hours straight with the original Dreamcast controller. I have small hands and holding the normal X-Box controller was a chore (never really liked any X-Box games anyway). This new revolution controler looks comfortable on one hand, but what about the analog attachtment? Unless I can easily kick back with my hands on my lap working these things easily, I don't eally want it.

PS: I usually buy a new game and play through as much as I possibly can the first time. I like to have gaming marathons.

The reason I opened this (WOW Gold) article with a screenshot made directly after an LttS proc was that it is just so much fun to see your DPS double on the pane between a Wrecking Crew and LttS proc. The new Heroic Strike is actually more useful to (Buy WOW Gold) arms than it was, as it fills the role of "nothing else is ready to (Buy Aion Gold) go" if you find yourself having used Overpower and Execute on proc, Mortal Strike is still cooling down, and you don't want to wait for an Improved Slam short cast time for one reason or another. (I expect you will be using it on high-movement fights.)

So uh... I guess Nintendo was on to something, seeing as both Sony and Microsoft are hell-bent on creating a 'casual' market on their respective systems with their own motion controllers/sensors.

It is pretty timely that this thread would pop up almost 5 years since the last post right when we're getting to two Wii competitors.  I wonder if the oposite effect will occur with them as Nintendo seems to be on a retro gameplay trend lately with NSMBW, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Kirby's Epic Yarn.
