...but only for 360 at the moment.

Release date is May 23rd. All downloadable tracks will be available on release at the same price, and all the regions will be in synch within a week of release. Additionally, the EU version will be getting 9 exclusive tracks:

* "Beetlebum" by Blur
* "Rock 'n' Roll Star" by Oasis
* "Monsoon" by Tokio Hotel
* "Hysteria" by Muse
* "Hier Kommt Alex" by Die Toten Hosen
* "Perfekte Welle" by Juli
* "Countdown to Insanity" by H-Block X
* "Manu Chao" by Les Wampas
* "New Wave" by Playmo

No price is mentioned in the news article.

EDIT: Pricing details have been announced. (Language warning on link) Let's just say no one is likely to be happy.

Hysteria will be freaking awesome. I don't really know about the others much but I'll have to have a look at the Oasis track.

I guess it's too much to ask for the price to be a fair exchange from the US price. $147 = £74. Yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Chances are we'll get the whole replace-the-dollar-sign-with-the-pound thing and have to pay £147, which equals $294. Yeah.

Why do people see us as a freaking blank cheque-book. I earn enough now to buy it for that but I'm not willing to. £120 is my limit.

Hopefully it'll be around there when we actually get it =/ Or even better under that

lol... wow o.o

so now $1 = £1.06 :crazy
that is utter madness. I was expecting it to at least cost less than an xbox arcade, now the price is boardering on the price of an xbox premium console with games! *sigh* well effing done EA, everyone waiting to get either gh3 or rock band. guess which one people will be going for. (nb- i managed to pick up a new gh2 game and guitar for less than £30)
nb: also euro rockband costs more than a euro wii :crazy_:crazy

So... 18 bucks of free DLC makes up a 200 dollar price increase and almost a year of waiting?

A bit skewed, what?

:bendover:

Might as well buy a PS3 and import the US version for that price D:

If the £130 instrument bundle came with the game, I would still consider it, albeit slower than i would were it £100-120.

That said, why on earth would you want to buy the instruments individually anyway...? I wonder if this is a case of miscommunication.

one can only hope

Harmonix believe the price is justified by taxes and 'other little differences.

Hell naw. I admit the UK has higher tax rates than the US (I think), but that doesn't equate to a 120% increase in price over the US one in any sort of conversion. Especially with the dollar being so weak at the moment.

Dear Harmonix,

Please excuse me while I laugh incredulously.

Wow. I thought this was just a communication error but with the official statements floating around I guess not. EA just lost all the cool points they've gradually been picking back up since they stopped being two words and started being two letters.

£120 I wouldn't pay for but would understand due to tax and the "little things", but £180 streaks past "expensive," cruises through "god damn it all stop screwing us over," and keeps on going into an entirely different universe that I'm unable to perceive due to my feeble human mind.

They'll probably get away with it for a year or so, too.

Since it hasn't been posted I'll note that you can pre-order it at Play for £140, £133 with the experience08 voucher.

And here I wait with baited breath to find out an Australian release date and price.

I'll see you all next year, about $400+ poorer me thinks.

Wow, Europeans always seem to get reamed when it comes to games, don't they?

also off subject but how does Muse keep getting into these guitar games? Other than "Knights of Cydonia," they're not very guitar heavy, and even then, that song blows. /offsubject

Man, Muse exclusive to Europe? Poor yank me....

Oh well they deserve it, Rock Band has been essential for my parties since December... and I've probably downloaded way too many songs. o_o Every Iron Maiden, Rush, Metallica, or David Bowie song conciders itself DOWNLOADED.

I can't believe that it's all expensive out there though.

Harmonix are still trying to justify it! And coming off as condescending twits in the process. This is certainly good for public relations???

Ah, they must have been taking notes from Phil Harrison's "How to make a PS3 a success" seminars.

Telling the fans to STFU and pay outrageous prices DOES NOT WORK. It's worse than Uwe Boll saying that we suck for not appreciating his movies.

When will companies realise this?
