"According to bussinesweek.com Sega could have a winn or loose situation this winter . Even though the company plans to enter among the top 5 publishers , with their newly purchased Marvel licenses , this shot could very easily backfire . If this winter season goes wrong , and its followed by a bad next Q1 , our beloved hedgehog maker could go out of business .
Lets hope for the best for Sega , and continue to aid them , as we can ( read : buy their games )"
O.o Whoa Pat? Hi Pat..
Can someone get me out of Bizarro world NOW >_<!
Clearly this is a sign Sega are returning to the console race.
Oh hey, I recognize this article! It's the one where Simon Jeffrey says that Sonic is for 12 and under. Don't we already have a topic on this in South Island...? Well, I guess that's a different aspect of the article.
I fail to necessarily see how movie titles - which, historically, suck, barring like some of the Spider-Man games, Aladdin (either version) and Toy Story - are going to be some almighty savior for Sega... and if this move crashes them into the ground, I wonder really how much remorse I'll give them. Hopefully they'll sell their licenses to companies that can actually do well with them.
And revive Panzer Dragoon, preferably in the form of a new RPG instead of a new shooter. I'd like that.
As far as Sonic has fallen in recent years, I really don't want Sega to die. v_v
Yikes...
I remember when Sega was a top tier competitor in the console race with Nintendo back in the 16 era, where both sides released some top quality games; it truly is amazing how things can change. How the mighty have fallen, and hard.
I would hate for them to end up in a situation like SNK was in years ago, where they went bankrupt, and were absorbed by Playmore (coincidentally, Playmore was owned by SNK's founder).
SEGA, for the love of God, just fire everyoen in Sonic Team and sell the rights to someone else. >>
='( Not Sega. No!!!!

But that's not the main problem here. The main problem is that Sega thinks that movie tie-ins are far, far more important than their own franchises. And they're not.
They are, because they usually sell. The fact that they typically suck doesn't mean they don't sell (See: Sonic series)
SX has a point. As horrendous as the game was, Shadow sold quite well, so I hear. Apparently kids were snapping the game up rapidly.
>> Yo.....A hell yeah to reviving Panzer. Immediately. Azel part II plzkthx. That could be a gold mine if they did it right >>
Or at least remake it. But a sequel would be equal in awesomeness.
On one hand I don't know how much I'd care, since they can't seem to make a decent Sonic games to save their lives anymore, and they don't make anything else I really care about anyway. But then it occured to me that the most recent game in the Armored Core series, Armored Core 4 (with is actually the 11th, lolz), was published by Sega this time around, rather than Agetec. I haven't heard anything about a new Armored Core game yet anyway, but should the next one be made, I wonder what would happen to a US release if Sega were to go under.
If Sega were to actually go bankrupt, I would hope they sell the rights to Sonic to someone else. I don't see how things could get much worse, and there'd at least be the chance that someone else would do a better job with it.
EA would buy Sonic. That's a recipe for quality huh?
