Holy peanuts is this game a lot of fun. I was always more of a single player person, but Shadowrun may be the final one that finally sells me on X-box Live.
Anyone else around here playing it? No one on my friends list is and I'd like to maybe integrate myself into a regular playing group. My gamertag is Srol if you wanna link up.
Isn't that an old SNES game
No, it's a poorly marketed 360/Windows first-person shooter based on the same license that Microsoft sent to die at the $69.99 price point. They fired everyone who made it. It seemed pretty fun when I played it at E3, but there's no way I'm paying 70 bucks for it.
Traded in R6:Vegas (which I played for five seconds and hated) and Rayman Raving Rabids (which I hadn't touched since February) and only ended up paying $13 for it.
Considering it was in the news today that the Loonie is 94 cents to the dollar now, you Canucks are really getting ripped off there with that $70 price tag.

Guys, guys... it's both! Also, a Genny version.
This is the first I've heard of the team being fired, though. I wonder what brought that on. And... it's good? Shadowrun diehards were having conniption fits when it was first announced that the FASA table-top RPG was being resurrected as a FPS (of all things) by the company that bought the license and then proceeded to do nothing with it years back.
I'm only familiar with the SNES game, but I loved that kind of melding of fantasy elements with cyberpunk settings and themes.
Also, apparently the Genesis version was an entirely different game. I did not know this.
Here's a good runthrough of Shadowrun games.
I'd like to play the old home console ones, but I honestly have very little interest in the 360 one.
Pretty good article. I had completely forgotten about the Mega CD version.
Ah! I'm really tempted to boot up ZSNES and play Shadowrun again. The music alone is worth it, so I'm rather ticked that the files that were on offer in that article reside on Fileplanet servers. D:
Wut?

WUT?! That's crazy!
Hm? Was there ever any doubt? The Vatican has kept more secrets than that whole "Easter Bunny" fiasco.
I'm gonna download the demo either today or tomarrow. If I like it I'll go ahead and buy it.
