I'm not really one for RTS, but everyone else can go crazy.
Blizzard announces Starcraft II, Korea implodes with joy

It all lead up to this: StarCraft II. After months of speculation Blizzard announced today at their World Wide Invitational in Korea that their next big project is StarCraft II for PC.
Blizzard president Mike Morhaime says, "With StarCraft II, we'll be able to do everything we wanted to do with the original StarCraft and more ... We recognize that expectations are high following the long-running popularity of the original game, but we plan to meet those expectations and deliver an engaging, action-packed, competitive experience that StarCraft players and strategy gamers worldwide will enjoy." Meanwhile, IGN's man in Korea, Charles Onyett says, "SC2 looks, at least visually, strikingly similar to SC1 - both in unit and map designs."
This has been Blizzard's longest gap between releases. Blizzard had a consistent two-year release schedule (not including expansion packs) since 1994 with the original WarCraft. That streak was broken in 2006 when StarCraft: Ghost was indefinitely postponed. Although no release date has been given for StarCraft II, hopefully gamers won't have to worry about another installment of the series being "postponed."
If it was anyone else I'd be overjoyed, but i don't see this coming out on schedule at all.
I mean, why should Blizzard put any effort into their products, when they can just sit around get fat off all the stupid people who shell out every month for WoW?
"Mo Money, Mo' Money". It's how the world works, my friend. >_> Korea implodes, XDXD! Yea i'm not into PC games, nor RTS games so why this interests me the least bit is a mystery, but I guess I want to broaden my horizons and know about whatever games are coming out that people are looking forward to. I love the emotion of it all. Reminds me of college football season. O_0

Anyone else except Valve, you mean.
It'll be worth the wait. Blizzard always delivers.
This game is gonna be damn good. Blizzard has never failed in making games, they won't this time either.
"I'm into it." -James Raynor
I do like the movie trailer that they have up currently. The punch line at the end really sums up the feelings of any StarCraft fan.
I really prefer StarCraft's story over WarCraft, and if the secret mission in StarCraft that hints at a sequel is remembered, then this will get even more interesting. I've considered writing (good) StarCraft fan fiction before, and used those ideas as the basis of a series of campaigns I designed using StarCraft's mission editor.
I'm not one a rabid fanboy, but I've been waiting to see how the story turns out. Glad we get to see the next chapter.
I have the expansion pack to the original StarCraft but I don't have the original.
this has been the source of untold frustration for me. u.u
*points and laughs @ SX* HAHAHA!
I personally wanna see how the Terrans fare, ifn anyone else recalls the end of the Terran campaign in Brood War. We doomed XD
Also, I saw a video of gameplay on IGN. The Protoss are BROKEN. Units that warp about, units that are immune to heavy damage, being able to warp in units within any PYLON range? I don't even want to go into the laser walkers I saw.
I'm guessing just about everyone else will be just as broken.

Well, it's probably not coming out until like 2009, which gives them plenty of time to balance it. And I have little doubt the Terrans and Zerg have a few new tricks up their own sleeves. I wouldn't worry about it.
Plus the Pross is probably the only race they've actually done any work on so far.
Plus, Mobile production facilities for Zerg, that can produce while they're moving. That's pretty broken right there.
