Sorry to double post, but i've been watching tons and tons of SFIV videos today and i'm like...uber pumped for this game. Oh my gosh! I had totally forgotten about Crimson Viper being in this game. Finally watched a video of her not too long ago. Check it out.

The only game i've ever played with Rose in it is Capcom Fighting Evolution[unfortunately] and she was pretty cool. Nice to see some more variety as far as characters go.

I think it's unlikely that we'll get a few SFIII fighters now considering the roster size, I thought they wouldn't go beyond 20 but we're up to 25.
Still, I wouldn't mind trading Rose, Gouken and Gen for Ibuki, Makoto and Dudley...even if two of them should be too young.

We have Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan and Sakura, Gouken's another shotoclone which is a bit much...we're only missing Sean to complete the set, unless you count EX character.

He also had training in kickboxing from his dad I believe, who was killed by Sagat which is why...

Pretty much. His hurricane kick is similar to Ken's from MvC2 (Hits one and then goes straight up) and he even has a counter attack. He also doesn't have an uppercut so no fireball traps.
I'm not saying they're exactly the same, but overall styles are similar enough, plus I would prefer an SF3 character in his place, though I know they want a more awesomely secret boss that Super Turbo had with Akuma...so...ah well, I'm just glad Cammy and Dan are there, add Chun Li and Bison and my best characters are all present and accounted for.

I must get this game...the one I played on Dreamcast was lame...I didn't understand why people loved it so much. Hmmm...anywho, yays for variety. Can't wait for this game, really. The reason I'm guessing why there are no Street Fighter 3 characters is because Street Fighter 4 sets up Street Fighter 3 story-wise. In the same way that the Street Fighter Alpha series set up Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 4 will give us the details on what happen afterwards: a story-wise sequel of sorts. Street Fighter 4 will tell us what happen between the fall of Shadaloo and rise of power of the Illuminati.
The events that have occurred from Street Fighter 2 are complete yet unresolved. For instance, how come only Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, and Akuma return for Street Fighter 3 while everyone else, all of the sudden, vanished. We can argue that the rest of the fighters either stopped fighting (like Dhalsim), retired from the street fighting world (like E. Honda and Blanka), or they are dead or in prison (like M. Bison and his Grand Masters).
I'm also intrigued on how Street Fighter 3 came about with Gill and his Illuminati organization. Does it have it's roots in S.I.N. and Seth? If so, Street Fighter 4 will explain how the transfer of power came from Shadaloo to the Illuminati. By the same root, the game will explain how characters who have personal vendettas against Gill (like Necro) had developed.
