Sakura was 16 in Alpha 3, I think. But IV canonically takes place between II and III, so I'm not sure yet how old she is in this particular game. As for Ken, I think he kicks some SERIOUS ass, but I still prefer Ryu (even despite Ken being faster and me being a Sonic fan). Ryu is more powerful as well.

Sagat is another badass character I enjoy playing with. I can inflict some MAD damage using his tiger uppercut!
Oh yea...i'm all about speed. Pretty much all the characters I use are about speed. And Cammy...I know alot of people at the Capcom boards who use her. I might try her out on IV. Ken vs. Ryu...hahha, Rishi you and I will have many fights consisting of those two I hope. But yea IV does take place between II and III...so like...Alpha 3 is how many years before Turbo then? LOL! I beleive Seth to have some serious mental issues. No, seriously, the man can NOT make up his mind.
My friend and I picked up SFIV at the same time, and we went back to his place to play because it was closer. We went about unlocking the characters. No problems doing it with Ryu, Sakura, Bison, Abel or Chun-Li. However, we had the worst time with C.Viper. Must have take 15 odd turns each before we finally downed Seth with Viper. So we unlocked all the characters and then I went home to play and start unlocking on my profile.
First time with Viper, perfected Seth. But I've had massive troubles doing it with Ryu, Sakura, ect. Seriously Seth, make up your damm mind on whether you want to be easy or hard. =(
Also, whooping Gouken and Akuma with Sakura is great. =D

XDXD! Yea man! Tony Jaa got me into using Muay Thai fighters in games. Joe Higashi rules in KoF/FF. King in AoF/KoF and of course Sagat. They rock...straight up. And that dude...does look like Bison. LOL!

Man, to this day I still wish people from both consoles can play multi-console games online. I'm sure PC and Mac users and still play Counter-Strike with each other so what gives? It may be because many are new to Street Fighter itself, or not used to the new groove of Street Fighter 4, but I've been a king online. I'm about 12 wins and 3 losses (One I don't count due to mega lag) and even got the 3 in a row achievement on X-Box. I really hope I get the 10 in a row one some time. XD As hard as that will be.

If you want to take the cheep way to get that; just find a kid and tell him you'll teach him some cool moves if he lets you beat him 10 in row. Unless the achievement only counts for ranked then I don't know how that works.

Seth isn't an issue for me...I find he really dies fast to Ryu. AI seems to have an issue with roundhouse kicks.

Anyone know what's up with the pads and arcade sticks? They don't seem to be selling them online in this country despite preorders available a few months ago, and they seem to be close to $100 for the pads and $150 for the sticks on US shopping sights.
Robo...I have no clue. Apparently GameStop here was only selling those on a pre-order basis. And the sticks...in the US are on back order til March or April I believe. It seems there was a big underestimate how the high demand for these peripherals. *shrugs*
So,I bought SF4 for the 360 and I can honestly say I'm horribly dissapointed with it. This is the first Street Fighter I've ever owned but I played a bit of SF2 with a friend. I imagine I just suck at it, but I find the game incredibly frustrating. Learning character combos seems like such an incredible chore, and even managing to pull the special moves off (I'm using the 360 pad, no fightsticks or w/e) seems most of the time either random or impossible. Even in training mode, I can barely pull off a Super or Ultra move.
I've pretty much been using Ryu since he seems to be the obvious one to master first, but even then I'm failing. I tried Medium mode on Arcade, and I got raped. Hell, I tried Easiest mode on Arcade, and I'm still horribly failing. That final !%+*@ Seth is retardly strong, and for me to find the game this hard on the bloody easiest setting seems ridiculous.
I want to love Street Fighter IV. Honestly, I've put in about 4 hours or so so far and I've made pretty much no progress. I appreciate that the game may be primarily for the fans, but it's heavily un-new user friendly. One thing the game desperately needed that I can't for the life of me see why it wasn't included is a tutorial mode which guides you through each individual characters special moves, demonstrating it and helping you finetune the timing and button presses. That would have made it a LOT easier to get to grips with.
Perhaps you'll all say I should practice more, and that I just suck and the game is totally fine. But a game that's this frustrating and downright annoying simply isn't fun. I'll probably trade it in or sell it. Which is a shame, as I could have done with a good fighting game.
EDIT: (Oh, and Abel's a @*$% too. Those grappling moves can %$%@ off)
Just got SFIV yesterday and been playing it almost non-stop since then. Lovin' it so far!
It's a bit tougher to combo in this game as opposed to other SF games. Perhaps its the graphics or the engine but yea. At least there is a visual indicator in the lifebar that tells you when you can link stuff (Or combo) it together (Aka, it flashes when you do a move that can be linked into or comboed). I'm using a stick and a pad and have been able to do most of the combos in the challenge thread...
As for supers and ultras...it took me years to be able to do those so no help there except practice, lol. Still adjusting to a stick...I can do nearly any type of move (Including charge supers and 720 motions) on a pad but stick? Nooooooo

XDXDXD!!! Poor child. Pach...I feel ya man. the game is alot tougher than I was expected it to be. I love Seth though[even if he does rip me a new one nearly everytime I fight him]. He's like the Cell[DBZ reference] of Street Fighter. 😛 But man...why'd they do this to my girl Chun. She's awesome don't get me wrong...but the hybrid Third Strike/II Turbo isn't my thing. I'd prefer strictly TS Chun over this hybrid...as far as learning curve goes. I've got her down pretty well though. Once again Pach I agree Abel is a &*$#!. He beat me once just by doing that damn throw thing. That is all he did. Nothing else. Like for real.What the hell! I can't wait to unlock some people though and get my favorite and start getting serious. Really...I can't wait to be good at the damn game. xD!
Yeah, I'm guessing a lot of it is down to using the pad. I went into challenges which I found is a good enoguh tutorial for the characters' moves and had an arse of a job to pull off the super for sakura until I rested the control stick in the centre of my palm and used it like a joystick, after which I managed to do the move easily. o.o
I need to find me of these fight sticks.

I have to say I like Gouken's style, I was originally against his inclusion due to the over abundance of shotos already present but he's very different, it's also great that they included Shin Shoryuken with him.
Not too fond of Set though, feels like he could be too easy to pull off powerful attacks.

Unlike you, I have set the game on "easiest" to unlock all the characters (btw, to unlock the other three, you have to get the endings to the other characters). Also unlike you, I'm playing the game with the 360 pad (it does the job at this time, for now). I agree that medium mode is a +*+*#, not just with crappy characters.
Which brings me to this: what is this hori stick, is it the best thing for this game and where can I get some?
The Hori Stick was made for fighting games as early as DoA4, and they're available on all three systems.

My cousin has this game, which is a pity because I think I'm somewhat addicted.
My Cousin, His Friend and Me barely beat it on Medium mode... I have no idea how we got Seth that time because I must've fought him like over 10 times on Easy mode without winning. I had to go to Easiest and play through it again.
While I was over there I unlocked Cammy, Sakura, Rose and Cammy again. (The first time we unlocked her we weren't playing on his profile... I turned it on and didn't know the buton combination so I was just like "screw it, I don't need a profile".)
I think I've managed to learn most of Crimson Viper`s moves, except that thing she does where she pounds the ground. ...and I think I know how to do her Super and Ultra Combo somewhat. Didn't know that L/M/H Punch meant that single button, lol. Thought you had to press them in sequence... >_>. I like the way she acts, too... slightly materialistic, slightly snarky... kind of smug. Sort of reminds me of Rouge The Bat... but more serious.
The other characters I like to use are Rose, Cammy and Sakura... I have a tendency to play as Girls in Video Games when I can for some reason. I wonder why. Maybe I like to ogle them, lol.
