Wow, those graphics are pretty sweet-looking for the DS.

And I can't read Japanese, AB, but I'm guessing that the screenshot of NES FF3 is there to indicate the original game being a bonus.

That or it's just there to show off how much they're improving over the original, which seems really unnecessary to me.

The do look like comparison shots to me, since seem to they show the new look of the same image with the original, though bigger. It may seem unnecessary but all remakes tend to get that in mags, as Final Fantasy Origins did in a Playstation mag once, and MGS: Twin Snakes and Resident Evil for Gamecube.

But those weren't remakes of 8-bit games o.o

They're comparison shots. Squeenix is making a big deal out of the fact that they're keeping the layouts of towns, dungeons, castles and the overworld map exactly the same as the 8-bit classic despite the jump to 3D.

They're showing it is the same game...

And, trust me, just visit some of the FF Forums and you'll understand exactly HOW MANY hardcore old school FF fans there are complaining the ports aren't true enough to the originals...
Too easy, lost it's soul... etc...

Anyway, review... um...
Advent Children is by no means the best movie ever. A great one, emotional and action packed but I'm glad it didnt go to thebig screen for general release...

On the other hand, it may well be the best straight to video movie ever :cuckoo (I wouldn't know, I've only got the disney sequals to compare it to, things made by TV companies dont count because they were made for broadcast)...

It's a Cloud movie, only Tifa, The Turks (Reno ,Rude and Rufus specifically) and the new villains have any real role, but it is good.
Well timed action, direction that puts the Matrix to shame and a plot that does what it sets out to do without being anything special. Graphics are generally good and the American voices dont ruin it, only Tifa left me cold...

...
so, in short, yes, Im happy.

Just nipping back to an earlier part of the discussion:

Yeah, and if the 8th opponent is Proud Clod (the boss that Scarlet and Hedgegearthingeyman were piloting) then you get MUCH! BP.

Proud Clod only appears in the Super Battles, which you can enter after getting Omnislash. Before that it's easier mobs.

Also, see how soon in the game you can get Omnislash! My record so far is before entering the Temple of the Ancients...DANG that took some work! It was fun to decemate every boss in the game from then on though :cackle

And lastly, why is it that "Omnislash" always makes me think of an incredibly long pee...?

(Wraith the Echidna on an alt...couldn't be bothered changing.)

I'm not a vey good movie buff, if it wasn't in cinemas or repeated on terrestrial channels chances ad addendum of me seeing it are somewhere beneath 1%

Trouble is, saying Advent Children is better than Disney Straight to video sequels isn't a very bold claim...
It's not the god of movies some people claim but it deserves more credit than that.
