If you can hook up composite cables to the thing, I don't see any reason you couldn't. The sensor bar would be a little weird, but you could probably just lay it at the corner of the keyboard/screen. Personally I've been tempted to try hooking it up to my computer monitor, since it takes in AV video input - although sound output is still a curiosity to me.
Yeah, Neal, I am getting a 360 and yes for the new Sonic game, which I had preordered, but like I said I'm getting a Wii sooner or later.
Awesome dude. Well my Wii Number is: 5612 5257 3638 2056.
Man, they did friend codes <i>again?</i>
God damnit, I'm never getting a Wii.
<b>ever.</b>
Because sharing your Wii's friend code - which is more or less the same as, say, a gamer tag - is so big a hassle.
At least here it's the CONSOLE that has the code, and not individual games. That should make life easier, right?
Yeah, ditto @ SH...
My code is 6632 1783 5285 2567
I'll have to wait to enter codes till after Thanksgiving... No connection at home =(
So, has anybody downloaded the web browser, yet, and if so, can you highlight text with it?
You can't download it yet. It's not out.
When does it come out?
All that Nintendo gives us as far as the browser is concerned is "Coming Soon." =/
As for the Forecast and News channels, Forecast is available December 20 and News is available January 27.
Well, I guess there really isn't a reason for me to get one, yet.
There's no reason for you to get a Wii because they don't have a web browser to do the same thing you do on your PC?
Wow.
Edit: Woops, wrong thread, sorry!

Not to mention your PC does it at about three times the resolution of a Wii.
Well, Bat and Cyc, I said yet; besides, my comp is being fix right now so I'm on the net via my PSP. I figured the Wii would make a better substitute computer than my PSP until I get the real thing back.

If I can't score Wii + Zelda this weekend. Sparky will beat me. Have you gotten the crap kick out of you by a pissed off nine year old? It's not fun.
*raises hand*
Here's a nifty little site
It's a site that hosts simple little flash games that use only the mouse, and are thus Wii compatible. There's not much on it now, but the site's still in it's infant stages. Heck, the Opera browser isn't even out yet. But it should be a pretty nice place to pass time. Wii time.
Sweet. Thanks dude.
Beat Zelda last Wednesday, passing the 45 hr. mark. Got 17 hearts, 100 arrows, 3 bomb bags that can hold double the amount, Hawkeye, and 3 bottles. Have a lot more left, I know. But, I want to address the ending. For those who beat the game yet, talk to me. For the others, spoilers beware:
Spoilers (Select To Read): Just what the hell happened to Ganondorf in the end? Did Zant break his neck, or were the two psychically linked, with the image of Zant being somewhat of a "the thread has been cut" thing? Also, I've never seen anyone die on their feet with a frickin' sword impaled through the chest, pinning only the air before. However, that was indeed a VERY dramatic scene. Seeing Link and Zelda looking at a dead-standing Ganon made me feel like, "Wow......".
The Wii comes out in Europe tomorrow. And so, I say: Good luck to those trying to get one tomorrow. Demand's just that damn high worldwide; they sell as soon as they show up on shelves. I haven't seen a Wii in stock since the day I got mine (ie, US launch day). Haven't even seen controllers.
Oh, and buy Zelda. It really is the bee's knees.
Just went to pick mine up from the midnight opening. I've had it reserved since the 18th of September, So I was assured my Wii pretty much.
Bought Zelda and CoD 3. I'll play it tomorrow when I'm not tired.
I had Zelda delivered this morning, though no word on the Wii yet, don't know whether I'm getting one or not over the next few days. I do know I won't be getting a second nunchuk and a classic pad for a while though.
Believe me, same here on the nunchuk. I don't have any Virtual Console pads either, although GameCube pads work.
I've heard GameCube pads will, in some Genesis and Turbografix, not work, although I can't see why.
Amazon.co.uk put up some more stock between 3pm-4pm (gmt) and they appeared to sell out in about 25 seconds :O
And the wii consoles are now selling up to 500 on ebay.co.uk x.x
o.O Whomever is trying to attain a Wii still, and lives in NYC, just umm do what I did, and camp out in front of the Nintendo Center.
They get like..200 a day? And yes they sell out every morning when they open, but I got my controllers and everything damed quick o.o
<< Now if I could buy a flat screen TV for cheap -.-..Stupid AV plugs rawr.
I have no interest in any of the next-gen consoles, but I will be getting the new Zelda as my last GameCube purchase ever.
So has anyone played Rayman Raving Rabbids yet?
I heard it was kinda like Wario Ware. Mini games etc. Which I don't mind.
Is it as funny as I think it is?
I have a small question about the Wii to those who already own it, do the games use the Gamecube memory cards to save files?

No, it says in the Wii's manual that only Gamecube game saves can be saved onto Gamecube memory cards. The Wii saves to itself or to an SD card.
And GameCube saves can NOT be saved onto the Wii's internal memory...

I totally forogt about the Nintendo World Store. Hmm, maybe my parents would be kind enough to go to the city and buy one there for Christmas. <3
So for all of you people awaiting Gunstar Heroes' availability in the VC...your wait may soon be over. I beleive it'll be in there tomorrow. Hopefully w/R-Type. *drools*
Dang... I took my Wii home this weekend, because I have to focus on finals... DAMN IT! D:
LOL, tonight I've seen multiple XBOX360 and PS3 commercials about wireless controllers.
Okay, but what does that have to do with the Wii?
Ok everyone I have just thought up the most ingenious thought ever. Donkey Kong 64...AHHH!!! If it comes to the VC, I will kiss everyone I see for the rest of my life. Possibly my favorite N64 game ever. Never did beat it though...couldn't get that Nintendo coin from the arcade machine w/ old school Donkey Kong. Please Nintendo...release..eventually. Please, please.
To be honest, I hated DK64.
It went way too overboard on the collectibles.
As did just about every other platformer Rare made.
;_; Stop it you two. Just...stop it... ;_;
I liked DK64, as well as Banjo-Kazooie. I was never able to collect everything in DK though (and not for lack of trying). I loved the collectibles in B-K though. Just my personal taste I suppose.
The commercials are about Wii because they're just blatantly so. The XBOX360 commercial suddenly uses a new slogan they haven't used before Wii came out, the next generation is wireless. Uh, sure, wireless controllers have been available for NES.
DKC2 did collectibles just right. They unlocked optional secret levels, an extra boss, and an ending based on DK coins. This, plus the game's excellent style, music, and actual original level concepts I've never seen in other games, is why I consider it one of the best platformers ever. They wisely based it on Diddy and Dixie, who played much better than DK.
DKC3 had much of DKC2's excellence and originality, but not remotely as much style, and it untroduced an in game currency (bear coins) that could be used to buy 1 or 2 items and was totally useless in the rest of the game.
DK64 I played in a Best Buy and I couldn't even get anywhere. DK was absurdly slow, I spent most of my time crawling on the overworld map to try to find a place I could enter, and the only level I could enter kept saying I needed 5 times more bananas than I seemed to be able to find in the entire level. Oh and they replaced Dixie and killed Wrinkly, those bastards. The fact that Diddy, the speed character somebody had unlocked, was just barely fast enough not to make me scream, and the game supposedly added 2 more characters slower than DK, and a ton of negative reviews were talking about exactly the things I was mad about, made me not too interested.
Indeed, the sequel to many games seems to be the best in the series. In this case DKC2. I hope they release all three from SNES on to the VC. I'm sure they will though. Anywho...did everyone get the Forecast Channel Update today? It's neat..I like it. Can't wait for the Internet Channel and News Channel.
Internet Channel beta on Friday. There's prolly no real point to it, since PCs browse the net much better, but I'll check it out regardless.
K so wait, how many channels are there going to be. I can't see them having a crapload of channels for free. Though the Forecast Channel is pretty sweet for a global view of the world...s..weather...if yer too lazy to go the the computer... >> <<
Although, that thing needs to update a bit better so I can actually use it and not see the weather for 11am -.-
Hahaha yea it does need to update more. But the beta is out Friday. Hmmm...I may check it out as well.
Nintendo's not holding back on the VC come Xmas, looks like.
No freebies (sorry), but Super Mario Bros., Super Castlevania IV, Street Fighter II, Toe Jam & Earl, and the TurboGrafx-16 version of R-Type (which costs 800 points, not 600) for your pleasure.
You're kidding...R-Type is extra. Geez, I better get those Wii cards for Xmas then. =P
For the record, this message was posted with the Wii's new browser. It's a bit slow, though... but faster than you might think.
>> Yo Street Fighter II. Ok. They're getting there. Still gonna wait before I buy some points and invest.
Now, someone alert me when Looney Toons B-Ball comes out on VC. As well as Yoshi's Island cause I dun wanna play it on my GBA/DS/what have you.. -.-
