Seriously, Lost Levels and Picross one week (although boo at Nintendo for not translating it), Ninja Gaiden and some other ninja game the next, and then Gradius 3 and Sin and Punishment the third... none of which were released in Europe ever before. This bodes well for later releases - you just might legitly see Super Mario RPG (and if Squenix ever makes a positive decision for the VC, Chrono Trigger) after all!
They would start doing this when I begin to pack up my things and give up on my UK Wii.
Still... Virtual Console purchases should be kosher. Excitement points up. Kitty want his RPGs!
That's okay, Craig; if you switch to the US lineup, you can (eventually) get Ys I and II, and... Cho Aniki!
Seriously?
Johnny Turbo has got off his sweaty chair and is going to give us something to scream joyfully about.
Now the question...
Will Konami release Rondo? If they do there'll be no need to buy Dracula X, so there's no insentive, but they're bringing out Vania 1-4 already (waiting for 3....) so they certainly want to release the series on VC/XBLive.
Here is hoping that with the possible inclusion of TurboGrafx-CD games along with Neo Geo that they will be able to branch out to other CD-based systems of the era like SegaCD and possibly even the Sega32X.
Sega 32X? No way man...never in a trillion years. If that were to happen, Sega is coming out with another home console.
CD games? On my Virtual Console? Let's not kid ourselves, guys. Even if the attempt was made, they'd have to seriously butcher the music quality in order to pare the file size down to something that can be downloaded.
Because, lets face it: most CD games in the 16-bit era were FMV fests or cartridge games with redbook audio for a soundtrack (hi Sonic CD!).
Why do you think they wouldn't release 32X games? If they are going as far as to pull out obscure systems like TurboGrafx-CD and the Neo Geo then why not one like the 32X? Granted there weren't a lot of "good" games for it, but it be nice.
Though I could see problems with the SegaCD given the fact that the sound chip was too hard to program (AKA "Q-Sound") and most programmers used the Genesis/MegaDrive sound chip the few games that took advantage of that are too hard to emulate.
Either way I'd like to see some 32X and CD games, I only own a few and they're too hard to track down.
PSX, what do you mean by "something that can be downloaded"?
He means that with true CD-audio sound the file size would be enormous and he's right. You'd be looking at a game larger than the N64 VC games. They'd have to do a lot of work on the sound for the game in order to emulate it correctly into something that won't take up a lot of space but still sounds good.
Ah, right, sorry, I'm not used to factoring in size restrictions when I figure on downloads. I was thinking he meant a file the size of a CD game is too big to be practical because it'd take too long to download. >>;

Of course, that can easily be solved by allowing VC content to be saved on flash cards. Which... hasn't happened yet. 512MB just doesn't quite cut it, pal.
Well you can save it on an SD card, you just cannot play it from sad card which is the major problem. If they added additional external hard drive support that would let you run games from said hard drive on your Wii then they could go as far into systems such as the Saturn and Dreamcast as they'd have the space there to hold those kind of games.
Yeah, I forgot it was so low. As in, I knew it, but it didn't hit me that that's less than the size of a standard CD. XD
>> 32x emulation needs to occur. Just the thought of Knux Chaotix-the ONLY game I own for 32X...being playable again (as I'm too lazy to rehook all that crap up) warms my heart.
Too lazy DL, TOO LAZY!? Heck mail it to me. I'm not too lazy. Never too lazy to hook up a game system. D:
<< No. I might be lazy, but I'm damn sure not giving up my system xD.
And besides...Its stuck in my jungle...err I mean closet. Go dig for all those buried pre-1995 systems yourself. You'll find a good..8 maybe..if they haven't been eaten by the DIno Riders collection in there....
Or the Turtles collection..
The only reason I don't connect my 32X all the time is the SegaCD is also connected and the dang thing needs at least 2 plugs in (one being the Genesis itself) to power on and it's just too big, that and I don't want to remove the SegaCD from the system either.
TRT-that's the second reason. Seriously, you have three monster plugs in order to get all those things to work. I need like a double wide adapter for that, and no sir, I don't like it. Sure it looks all cool when you have it all setup with the CD to the right and the 32X looking like a plume of black sexy chocolate power.
But its too much POWER!!!!!
According to Wikipedia, TurboGrafix CD and Neo Geo titles have been added to the PAL waiting list.
Seems Nintendo are really really sucking up to us after crapping for a year.
Fatal Fury is the first Neo Geo title, that makes me a happy kitty.
Right, well, out of the games you Europeans got from the Hanabi Festival, we finally got the big ones.
Lost Levels AND Sin and Punishment ON THE SAME DAY. m/_
Oh yes things are looking great. Fatal Fury makes me happy as well.
I will be d/l'ing Sin and Punishment tonight
Nice and nice. But umm.. no. Not really gonna pull a Youtube of beating the lost levels. Been through that horror once, but still rad games offered tis week. Lets keep this going Ninty >>
So FF and AoF were released today. I've always loved 2D fighters but my experience has always been biased. SF II[all versions], SF III: Third Strike, SF EX 3, CvsSNK2...all my main 2D fighting experience has been Capcom...granted I used to own Fatal Fury 2 and AoF 2 a loong time ago....before I was really into gaming and a tad bit of MKII and III. So this VC may be my gateway to the greatness known as SNK. And with the slated AoF Anthology for Wii...things are getting sweet for SNK. I just need to get my hands on some Samurai Showdown and KoF. >_<
No save functions atm for Neo-Geo games >> wtf?
Hmmm...did the original versions allow you to save? If so that is lame and shoty work from Ninty. *waggles finger*
hmmm... New Wii System Update... adds USB Keyboard support. woot?
also there is a Japanese Nintendo conference going on atm... Mario Baseball Wii announced... FE DS... aaaaaaaaaand

As for 14:03 virtual console, 7,800,000 download. In the future, the development, Wii wear. This is not the game of the bosom oak, the service which downloads the new work
Professor Oak is revealed to be a... transgender???
ugh, that's what I got from the NeoGaf... and now some DrMario WiiWare???... Screw it, I'll catch it in the morning on Kotaku/GoNintendo.
You mean the USB Keyboard support they've had since late August?
They didn't have it for the Internet Channel, which is what this update has added.
I'm just curious what everyone thinks of the Wiimote glove and if they're going to ask for it. Myself I think it looks stupid and I don't need it.
Fire Emblem DS?
FIRE EMBLEM DS?!
@#%$ YEAH!!!
HS2K3-thank GAWD someone is on my same wavelength here. Samurai Shodown. Where is it Ninty? I want it 5 months ago >> It's not even a joke.
Wiimote glove? I don't need it. I haven't even seen or heard of it really. But yea DL...I want some Samurai Showdown too. I can't wait til Fatal Fury 2 and 3. Hopefully some KoF too.
Wiimote Glove - Are you serious???
Methinks I can just about hear the sound of an 'Angry Nintendo Nerd' having an aneurysm at this very moment.
So, looks like Lloyd Irving (Tales of Symphonia) is gonna appear in the upcoming Soul Calibur Legends.
forum.almostmonumental.co...c.php?t=43
That's.....amazing :O. I would have never thought of Lloyd in SC, but then again, Spawn's in it -.- Definitely will get now.
Hmm...never played ToS...but I do suppose this is good news. Hmmm...it's been awhile since i've looked up anything on SCL...I think i'll go do that now. 😛
What?!?! HS?
Brother!!
GO PLAY THAT GAME NOW! I don't rally like Phantasia all that much, but Symphonia was tops for GC :O. Go waste a week or two and wallop through it and fall in love with Kratos and Shadow.

?
You heard him. Love them tenderly.
XD! Yea I saw Kratos and thought of GoW as well. Saw Shadow and didn't dare think of that lame hedgehog. 😛 But yea man i'm kinda glad I missed so many games. Now I can go back and play them all. Onl thing is...by the time I get around to some they'll be rare gems. =/
XD ROTF @ RESPONSES!
DL=Pwnt
...I can't even post, Im laughing so hard.
MP3 support removed in favor of AAC files
So... WTF are AAC files? And why REPLACE MP3 support with it? What the hell, Nintendo?
But, well, it's just the Photo Channel that absolutely nobody uses. I guess it's not a complete loss.
o.O Wait.
People USE the Photo Channel?
Best REsponse evar on that link.
Umm yeah ACC= the group name for the next gen of audio storage (Mp4, m4a acc) all that jazz 😮
Not updating. That's dumb. If I ever get an SD card for my Wii, I'm danged sure gonna have music on it I can jam out too.
Huh. Apple uses AAC compression for iTunes music files, don't they? I assume the Big N went with that to avoid potential legal issues.
Yeh I believe Apple does. I didn't even know you could get music on your Wii. Or maybe I did...

Hahaha, if only Hiro. Has anyone used the "Check Mii Out" Channel? I just realized it even existed a few minutes ago. o_0
