Perfect Prosecutor (DS/Capcom/??)
* A law adventure game where you act as the prosecutor.
* Main characters are Miles Edgeworth, Dick Gumshoe
* You control Edgeworth, searching for overlooked evidence and inconsistencies at the crime scene.
* New search and deduction systems are introduced.
*!*
lol, you beat me to it... or rather had the guts to post info that is all rumor until Famitsu comes out.
As Court-Records says "Now...don't get your hopes up. But if you freak out just a little, I won't blame you. Check back later this week to see if it proves true once the next Famitsu comes out."
Hoping it is true though
Didn't like Edgey too much in PW... And then his lines at the end of PW2 changed my opinion... By 3-5 I was cheering for him
Curse you. I was just about to post this.

Jesus Christ do we really need MORE Edgeworth?
Franziska Von Karma has your answer:
*whip,whip,whip*
Anyway it about time Edgeworth got his own game. I like the fact that the character can now move and be seen in background. I wonder if we will be seeing Phoenix Wright as a defence lawyer. Unless this take place after Apollo Justice then we won't. Can anyone translate what the article says?
So this is the "New Gyakuten Not Saiban" that's been talked about on CR for a while. Certainly looks interesting, but I wonder if it'll just be PW from the other side of the courtroom - not that I'm complaining if it turns out good, but still. Also wondering where this fits into the timeline - will it be set in the PW era, the AJ era or the 7 year gap inbetween?

If this game uses the same system of logic as its predecessors, it will be the easiest game ever made. All you need to do is prove that the defendant could have possibly committed the crime, and that any other suspect had at least a quarter of an alibi and you win.
Don't get me wrong, this is kind of something I've wanted since I first heard of this game series, but I think it will soon become very obvious how much the logic of these games need to be fixed to allow this game to exist.
Dadgummit, I still need to play the other Ace Attorney games. >_>;
(hasn't played them. Yet.)
Well, as they've yet to show the court-room, I can fantacise about Edgeworth being debarred for imitating a defence attorney and then starting a private investigator firm with Gumshoe. The two of them bring justice buddycop style.
omg Craig, that would be awesome.
Also, did anyone notice The Butz in the art?
Um. Wow. This is pretty awesome. They wouldn't have to change the game that much, Phoenix Apollo is defense and prosecution rolled into one already. I also notice that the game is completely 3rd person perspective, like courtroom-time in the other games, while it was 1st everywhere else. This will take some getting used to (Edgeworth is standing in the screen with whoever he's grilling, so they won't really have room to do anything too awesome), and the walkabout things are definitely a step away from the "Point and Click" adventures of GS1-4.
You know what? Nevermind. This game is COMPLETELY different from the others. =P
Edgey's "clients" will be the bad guys from the start, so instead of Nick Apollo trying to defend an innocent, Miles will fight to put away the evil. Nick and Apollo probably won't be the defense, because, one, they have to lose, and two, they'd have to defend someone villainous (except perhaps as case 5 (Re:1-4 von Karma)). I suspect the defense will be ruthless, like 1-4's victim Robert Hammond, willing to sacrifice their defendant's name and hopes for a normal life for a victory. It'd be fun watching Miles and Gumshoe work together as friends after their interaction in 3-5 revealing to Miles how bad off Gumshoe is.
Also, Where? @ the Butz
This game really doesn't feel that interesting to me. In GS1-4, you essentially played the role of defender and prosecutor- not only was there the life of an innocent person on the line but you also had the satisfaction of upending and actually catching the criminal. These two things led to immense satisfaction.
But now, by simply going on the Prosecuting side of things, you lose half of that. No longer does would it essentially feel as if you're in a tough corner with the prospect of an innocent person's life on the line. Now it'll simply be proving a person's guilt, and so from my initial impressions already, it's half the game the GS series was already.
I'm pretty sick of Edgeworth, too. The majority of the internet's love for him just makes me feel all ugh. His story was told in GS1. Does he need to have a game, and most likely its story, dedicated to him? In my opinion, no.
I'll concede that the Edgeworth/Gumshoe partnership dynamic in 3-5 was fun, a lot of fun in fact, but that was because it lasted for only a short time. Throughout the whole game I feel it'll probably lose its appeal.
I'll still buy the game as I love the AA series and I have no doubt the writing will be superb. Just from initial impressions however I'm not really excited or hyped for it.
(And I'm calling it now, any Oldbag/Edgeworth interactions will be guaranteed the funniest part of the game).

Well I dunno about the defendant being guilty all the time, and the defence attorney (assuming there is any court action, as the Not Saiban name is Turnabout NOT Courtroom... assuming "Perfect Prosocuter" is fan made) could possibly be Kristoph Gavin.
Given Edgeworth's moral superiority to the rest of the Ace Attorney universe, he'd be fighting for the truth as much as Nick was.
I'm sure Capcom wouldn't let us down.
Assuming that this game takes place 7 years before Apollo (evidenced by NotOld!Edgy), that'd make sense. @ Gavin
Also, Where? @ the Butz
Also, Where? @ the Butz
HERE @ THE BUTZ
Oh, lol. That's Gumshoe.
Larry's beard is pointy. That figure's beard is identical to the one on the picture of Gumshoe right next to it. Larry's hair points up along the entire length of his head, while that picture only has spikes at the edge. There's an identically posed picture of Edgeworth opposite from it. Also, the art there is numerous pictures of Miles and Dick only.
EDIT: LOL @ Gumshoe holding an umbrella for Miles in that art. He's still Edgy's stooge. XD
Gyakuten Saiban meets Final Fight? ;D
lmao That's what it reminds me of!
OH THANK GOODNESS I'M NOT THE ONLY UNENTHUSED ONE. I didn't want to be the first person to say something ^^;
That might be because I woke up to see half the world joygasming at once, and it's that kind of behavior that makes me want to shut the laptop and go back to sleep. After the first game, I lost my interest in Edgeworth (though I admit playing as him in PW3 was pretty cool if only 'cause it was different). An entire game about him would be definite overkill in my eyes.
Though, knowing some people **looks to Kitty**, I'll probably end up playing it anyway :p

eh, for some reason I don't like the idea of this game, it just seems rather odd. Well, time will tell if it is actually any good
Rapture.
I agree with Srol on the matter of the game's logic: since prosecution in the AA world amounted to, "He was arrested so he's obviously guilty," there has to be some kind of change in the system. Seeing as how we've yet to see any courtroom-related media, I wonder if this particular venture is more oriented on the investigation phase, perhaps trying to catch the culprit among many suspects. This would not necessarily be bad. Furthermore, if there is special attention devoted to courtroom proceedings, it would at least change the tone of, "All prosecutors are slime," that hovered thickly in the air of the Phoenix trilogy like smog over London and possibly show that defence lawyers are also fully capable of being repulsive (see Kristoph Gavin).
I suppose I'm not worried about the rest of the internet having gone all squee, for if I did, I'd probably be able to enjoy very, very little in the video gaming world. It's Miles Edgeworth. Of course there will be excitement. He has the cravat of great justice.
According to the latest court records newspost, this game will not have a trial segment. Additionally a trailer has been released which suggests many returning characters, and a new character has been revealed, but no name or other details have been given.
I see that the Blue Badger is once again part of a crime scene. I wonder what it doing on Sea World?
The new girl looks cool.

Tiny fullbody sprites look like an awful design decision to me. I miss the larger upper body sprites that were so much more expressive.
It looks like some scenes will use the upper body sprites. What's with that new guy? Some hot new defense attorney by day, tennis champ by night? They are really going out of their way to make Edgey look straight. =P
I'm loving the lil' sprite emotes, but mostly due to the knowledge that full pics do happen.
I'll wait on the translated trailer before being to vocal about anything, but the music is a very interesting style. I kind of like it.
This looks like a very awesome game, so this makes me want to play this game.
