Announcing Ace Attorney Investigations 2!
Following the advent of some evidence to suggest its existence, Capcom have launched the website for the second Ace Attorney spin-off featuring the beloved barrister Miles Edgeworth.
Now with more Edgeworth, improved sprites, and a new "Chess" system of uncovering information from witnesses (perhaps a la the twitch-spotting technique from Apollo Justice?), as well as all of the stuff you loved from the first AAI.
To be honest, whilst I enjoyed Ace Attorney Investigations because of the usual Phoenix Wright story-esque goodness, I have to admit that it couldn't hold a candle to Ace Attorney 1-3 and, yes, even Apollo Justice. Give me some actual court segments this tme, Capcom! (and whilst you're at it, actually announce an Apollo Justice sequel, please? I mean two spinoffs and no news of an actual sequel in the main game series? Ooh, also makes me wonder what an Apollo Justice sequel would be like if it was developed for the 3DS; what 3D additions could they add? Apollo's pointing finger actually coming out the screen? =D)
I actually liked AAI as much as T&T, possibly even more than T&T, so this is awesome news for me.
Yeah, I'll totally hit that. No lies. =D
Aw... Yeah, I want more AA, not AAI. There is just something about the courtroom dramas...
I thought it was a refreshing change of pace, myself; Getting to see what it's like to be in Edgeworth's shoes. I always love it when you get to play as another major character who's not the protagonist (I still feel the this way even though Edgeworth is technically the main character in this game.) Plus it was nice to see some of the old characters Pre-AJ.
I do still love the classic Ace Attorney formula of investigation/courtroom/moar investigation. But... I don't know... I thought it was nice to take a break from that, for once. Plus the arguments are pretty much identical to the courtroom segments except there's no judge... doing judge-ey things.
So yeah, I don't mind this at all.
HOLD IT!
I present to the forum new video Evidence to prove WHY you need this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUQfT7dAu94
My verdict: Great trailer!
I'M GOING TO BUY THAT GAME SO HARD THE CASHIER'S FAMILY WILL FEEL IT!
Still rather it had an actual court system in it but holy crap Shelly DeKiller!
I want an Apollo Justice sequel, Capcom >:
If Apollo ever rears his head again, it better be so that Edgeworth can break his testimony and his sense of self-worth, disbar him, and glare so hard at his attorney's badge that it combusts.
That trailer is guilty of making me want this game now.
Pfft...Apollo Justice was a good game. Shut up! 😛
I too have a place in my heart for Apollo Justice.
I think that game arguably has the prettiest women in the series.
I literally got lost in Vera's eyes.
I literally got lost in Vera's eyes.
Pfft...Apollo Justice was a good game. Shut up! 😛
Overheard at Capcom's Captivate press event:
"Is Ace Attorney 2 coming to the west?"
"I assume it's Ace Attorney Investigations 2... the answer is no, sorry about that".
I'll believe it when it see it. Watching the outcome of this one like a hawk, trust me.
That had better not be true =|
I come bearing more of Svens testimony...and it's not good.
I'll be a little more clear.
The costs of localization are higher than the forecasted return. And no, it wouldn't sell more than Okamiden (which has already sold more than the first Investigations). Could this content show up on some other platform somewhere down the line? Possibly, but there's nothing on that front for me to talk about. I realize there are fans who would like to have this and I'll be sure to explore ways that could happen viably in the future with our strategy and R&D teams but no promises.
Realistically...We could be seeing the end of the AA Franchise here in the west, folks.
...seriously? Okamiden sold more?
Seriously?
Yeah, I'm just as surprised...It's like some bad joke - I wanted Okamiden, sure, but IT WASN'T EVEN IN THE STORES! >>;;;
However, a little digging DID present this evidence:
International Okamiden sales to date: 73733
International AAI sales to date: 112210
International Okamiden sales (first 3 weeks): 73733
International AAI sales (first 3 weeks): 66955
So it's based on the SAME LENGTH OF TIME as Okamiden has been out, not just a total sales worldwide issue - Okamiden basically sold more faster than AAI.
ohai I wonder where you dug that from
Needless to say, I'm pissed, and I'm looking for a solution.
*rage*
Yeah, I know right? 😛
Still, Something has to be doable about the situation...can't just sit around flapping our gums, now is the time for action it seems.
