@ PSX

I would much rather this to a Virtual Console release... I like my RPGs portable.

I actually played Chrono Trigger on the PS1. I almost finished it, but I stopped because the loading was killing me. Hopefully the DS will fix it because I sure as hell would love to finish it!

Truly the best news I've heard since Devil May Cry going multi-platform, or Trauma Center 2's announcement.

I'd be excited and buying it if was a full-on 2D remake, but apparently it's just an enhanced port with an extra dungeon; the Golden Suns and Fire Emblems on GBA have spoiled me with their slick animation and pretty spells.

Good things always come in threes and Diablo, Mega Man and Crono make three "they'd never do it"'s in a row.

I finally get to play Crono! <3

*Kills off time with Tactics A2 in the meanwhile*

I seriously hope the rumoured 'just a port w/ extra dungeon' is false. What makes sense for the GBA doesn't make sense for the DS. On the other hand, purists seems to think that if the graphics are overhauled it'll ruin the game.

You know... like how FF4DS was ruined. Only... not really.

Ahhh, that old familiar echo-y Tick-Tock. I could listen to it for hours if it didn't force me to hum the opening tune after a few seconds. <_< I thoroughly enjoyed Chrono Trigger, so I can't wait.

In Squenix's defense, they're still making a load of new games also.

Also to those only going "Diablo 3, Megaman 9, and now this!" I'd also like to point out Street Fighter 4 and Starcraft 2 for "about time!" sequels. They deserve love too! ;.;

Thinking about it though, this has been going on for a while now; Contra 4, Bionic Commando (both remake and new 3D title), Fallout 3, New Super Mario Bros., the Mana series...

All we need now is for Sonic Unleashed to be awesome and a true sequel to Super Mario RPG!

*high fives* Heck yea SFIV needs some love. =P As for old games being rereleased...I don't mind. I missed alot of games in the mid 90s and this is my way of catching up without needing to get the original system. Although...until they release it on the Virtual Console[which they better as heck do] I still don't have the correct system. =/ But the whole reintroduction of series like you were saying Robo...is a bit different. Contra 4, New Super Mario Bros., and Bionic Commando, etc are sequels...but this from what it seems is an exact[nearly] port of the original. And about the PAL release...*chuckles*

Well, I have only played New Super Mario Bros. of those three, and it isn't really that much like the classic 2D titles to not be considered a sequel, as it features a a of new elements like wall jumping, mega mushroom, and the Blue Shell Suit.

As for PAL release, who cares! It's the DS! Region Free ftw!

You know damn well that development costs for new games in this age of graphically rich consoles can be astronomical, and it's a real risk to put out a new IP without knowing how the gaming public will respond. Keeping revenue coming in by releasing ports and remakes with established fanbases can help offset and, yes, even fund development across the board.

Like, oh... I don't know...

True but just how well have their remakes been selling? The only remakes I see where they've taken an interesting step was FF3 and now FF4.

Ahh...see i've played none of these, but yea I see what you're saying abo-Blue Shell Suit, really? =P Sounds pretty awesome. Haha And wall jumping...sweetness. Region free...lol. Oh yes, oh yes. But umm Psx...Chrono Break? Is that for real? I don't think i've even heard of that. =O *must acquire Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger*

Everything's messed up in that. The Cavewoman's a businesswoman, the nerd is so top-heavy she can't even walk, the princess is a frog, the frog's a polliwog, and Robo is Optimus Prime. To summarize.

And if you expect the characters to look like that in the game, then don't get your hopes up.

Now, if this was a remake, there'd be an infinitely small possibility of them as alt costumes, buuuuuuuuuuut... no.

No it wasn't. o.o It was stretched out for dramatical pause effect. If I was whining, it would have been the 'no' that was stretched out.
