As in the Virtual Console for the Wii. What is the general opinion on it? Already they seem interested in oversaturating it with space shooters while avoiding the games we desire (Mario RPG for one. Earthbound, Super Smash Brothers and Superman--whoops!) While I will admit to having played most of the best games for the SNES (albeit by ROMs), I still will buy some of them on the Wii so I can enjoy them on the big screen. However it's kind of annoying you have to buy the Classic Controller for some of these games. I've been trying out DKC2 with a Gamecube controller and nearly chucked it because of the awful button layout (Seriously, I had no issues in this game on the computer until the fourth or fifth world and I'm struggling with the first one). At least it looks better...
Yeah, I definitely think Nintendo needs to start spitting out a classic game for the SNES AND N64 every month.
I'm waiting for my Earthbound (To show some support... I already beat it on the rom), Kirby Super Star (LOVED the game. It has an awesome multiplayer mode. It is easy to see how the Smash Bros series evolved from this game), SMRPG, Paper Mario, SSB... The list goes on.
I've played most of the N64 games, just never got around to beating them. That's mostly due to a limited budget around that time. That was back when renting a game actually made sense (in terms of $).
Oh, come on. We just got Streets of Rage 2 last week, and ActRaiser THIS week. Yet you demand more? What's WRONG with you people? ;P
However, yes, the completely uncustomizable control schemes really DO hurt the system, honestly. Jump should be on the bottom for all games, not just SNES ones, dangit! >_<
Bah, if we're going to get a beat up/fighting game, give me the King of Fighter games. I have heard good things for ActRaiser so I may try it out...
Shoot, Japan will be getting Paper Mario in June.
Given the announcement of NeoGeo support on the VC, it's inevitable. But still, the two genres are pretty damn different, and honestly, Streets of Rage 2 is supposed to be (one of) the pinnacle(s) of the genre, so I'd still check it out if you've never played it before.
I love the VC, TBH. I'm a space shooter kind of guy and it pleases me very much so to see so many on there. Super Star Soldier, R-Type, Gradius and Blazing Lazers have been my favorites. I ,must admit though, they are holding out on the big 'uns. Alot of the ones you are mentioning are set to appear though, just not so sure when, thats all. I didn't know Neo Geo had been confirmed, heck i'm definetly saving for KoF series stuff. All in all I love the VC. Sure some weeks the games that come out are pretty lame, but in time, in time.

Dear Nintendo/Joytech: Alternate/3rd Party controllers, plz.
If you sell N64 controller, people will buy.
If you release Goldeneye (they did manage to wrestle DK from Rare and reused the TMNT license), people will buy more Wiimotes and more controllers for it.
Ninty. Don't fear our money. Embrace it!

Anyone else? 😀
Seriously, though, I want Super Metroid as much as the other guy, but the selection right now is pretty tight.
Hahaha true that Craig. Well SH you know I do too want mor-*remembers the cat* a mortage....some day. ^_^
I can go pick up the Sega Genesis Collection for PS2, which has more than 20 Genesis games (some of which are on VC already), WITH extra goodies. Cost me $15 used. To download these games on VC would be around $160, with no extras. VC is overpriced.
Right to the point, eh? lol Sure it's over priced in some aspects. But alot of games are presented in Classics collection etc where you can get 1,000,000 games for like $30. =P
But said collection both lacks Streets of Rage (or anything NOT Genesis) and is only for two Sony consoles which I don't own nor really foresee myself owning any time soon.
Is it overpriced? Certainly. But I'm relatively satisfied either way.
Personally, I'd like to see a Dreamcast section opened up in the VC.
We need an external HDD add on first @ Dreamcast... Hell, even a Saturn would fill up our flash memories with only one game =
Blazing Lazers Batman If they put a Saturn and/or Dreamcast option in the VC thats assures atleast 1 of 3 things:
1.) Sega and Nintendo have officially merged
2.) Sega is ultra desperate(which in reality is kinda true hehe)
3.) Total World Take Over!
Personally i'd be pleased with #3. =D
Who needs a new Sega console when you can have a Sega/Nintendo one of a kind super deluxe awesome videogaming machine!
Going a tad bit off topic...
I see all these games for classic consoles get ported, but when is someone going to show the Atari 2600 some love? I've been waiting for nigh fifteen years to play Berserk again.
Super Metroid, Yes its been mentioned.
Looney Toons B-Ball beter hurry up. That one Roadrunner/WileCoyote game better show up.
And well ok Yay Pac Man. I bought it. Wheres Ms Pac Man and Where the @#$%@#$^ is my Jurassic Park!!!
But for right now, this is tight. I no argue
Oh. and Umm KOMBAT?!?!?!?
Hahahha Jurassic Park. It's be ^*%#%6 here when they're ready for it to be DL. =P Yea dude, I really want some MK. Really bad. Give me MK3:T and i'm done downloading games....forever. Yea the Atari 2600 gets no respect. What's up with that? lol
lol Atari 2600
No, we don't need it... Unless you freaks want E.T., Custer's Revenge, and Burning Desire (yes I have the roms for all 3 of those... BD's 'ending' made me ROTFLMAO for 2 minutes straight)

PSX has quite won anyway, but:
4.) Sega is using Nintendo to test out the LINDBERGH as a ploy to merge and re-enter the console market under the SEGA name!
If we're dipping into the realm of fantasy, then give me Amiga point and clicks with the Wiimote working as a mouse.
Monkey Island, Beneath a Steel Sky, Sam & Max, Day of the Tentacle and while we're at it CANNON FODDER! <3
They were right. War HAS never been so much fun <3
The VC is alright if a shame. The only games so far that I'd want to buy are ones I've already owned and played and feel comfortable with, but then again they still don't exactly feel stellar.
Other games I'm less confident with in the instance that I may feel like I've wasted my money: some of these games can be quite expensive especially as they're quite a rip off. That said, I still need to buy Lylat Wars either way, which I will do after plodding through all my other games :O
Lets hope they bring Shaq Fu(Stop laughing) and the Lion King to the VC real soon!
XD!! I CAN'T!
SHAQ-FU AHAHAHA ::Tears, so many tears:: XDXD!!
Lion King is a HUGE agree! Miss that game.
But seriously, with the amount of games that people are wanting, I'm wondering if its worth it to consider other systems UNTIL the best games from each current library are exploited.
That..or up the games released to 9 Yoshi's Island, MJ: CITWC and X-Men on Wii plzkthx
(Whoa, would the reset trick work?}
and NBA JAM:TE Screw all the others. I want my 8 point hot spot from THREE POINT LAND--HE'S ON FIRE!!--BOOMSHAKALAKA!
Dude! NBA Jam TE is definitely it. The two Midway games i'll ever need. That and MK3:T. Done. Fin. Sealed deal.

I still have a working copy of that one.
Streets of Rage 2 and Toejam and Earl 2! Only got SoR2 of the two, and I love it to bits. All we need now is Super Double Dragon and River City Ransom and the Wii is the beat 'em up holy land...almost.
Still, I'm very pleased with the VC myself, Lylatt Wars, SoR1 and 2, Link to the Past, Toejam and Earl 1 and 2, Act Raiser, Mario Kart 64, Domkey Kong Country 2, Mystical Ninja, aAND Gunstar Heroes, plus many more. Yes it could be a lot better, but 6 months into the Wii's life and we have a hell of a lot of classics.
You know i'm surprised EarthWorm Jim hasn't made it on here yet. I know gowing up that game was really popular, or so I think I remember it being popluar. I never played but it looked really fun. Maybe whoever developed it isn't part of the list of companies the VC supports. *shrugs*
If you're a fan of wacky, sophmoric humor, than Earthworm Jim is your game. I remember me and my brother loving it back when we were young. Now, the game seems kind of eh to me...
Ahh I see. Heh. It always looked like a cool game to me. I don't know if i' by it on the VC, but still i'm sure lots of people would love to see it. I'm still waiting for my Midway classics.
Man, when will Nintendo release some good games? The last two weeks have been quite lackluster...8 dollars for Sonic 2? I agree the game is good but 8 dollars?!
Oh come on. It's moderately retro. Besides the VC will be around for years...the other good games will come.
Pfft...it may be moderately retro but there is the Sonic Mega Collection. Which has like 20 something games for under 20 dollars...I hear there is one for the Wii/Gamecube Advance...
They really need to release Chrono Trigger. And Secret of Mana. They'd be my heroes if they did.
