Specifically, do you go to them often or not? And just what kind of games are you entering in?
As for me, I was at CCCT this past Saturday and it marks my first big tourney, though I've been to numerous smaller ones. Started going just for Smash, got tired of getting my tail handed to me so I went to Tekken, Virtua Fighter and GG. Still the same results but getting better.
Funny you made this. I've never been to an offical one, but me and like 7 friends had one for Hydro Thunder at the local mall arcade like 3 months ago. It was a super amateur tourney. No prizes, or entrance fee. But I didn't lose once. However near the end of July i'm getting the mall arcade to have an offical Hydro Thunder tourney. $5 to enter and we're looking at about 20+ entrants hopefully. 1st place gets the pot. Gotta say i'm quite excited. Although other than this I doubt i'd enter any other kind of tourney...all the games I play are super old school or wouldn't really fit in the tourney requirements. I'd lke to enter a SF or Tekken one, but it's been sooo long since i've played one of those games. u_u
I've been to a few melee tourneys.
I usually do pretty well, and wind up in the top 3. I've never been lower than 5th.
Went to a Marvel VS Capcom 2 tourney once, got my ass handed to me, wound up at 37th out of 50 players. @#%$ Cable.

I've never been to a tourney before, but I witnessed one being held at the mall when I was working one day. I happened to stop by there, figuring out it was a Halo 2 tourney. I saw some little kids hand some adults' asses to them.
I actually got destroyed by a team of Akuma, Ken and Ryu or Juggernaut, Akuma and Magneto. It didn't help it was on the Dreamcast, a version I haven't played in years.
I've only played MvC2 on DC and I invented a whole new set of profane language while my friend flippin' abused Viper Beam. I didn't like it all that much, but I didn't really know what I was doing. I prefer MvC 1 really. =/
I often run Pokemon tournaments down my way. I also often get crushed by kids who love to copy and paste movesets+EV spreads from Smogon. >>
Would love to attend a fighting game based one, especially Virtua Fighter or Darkstalkers, or an FPS based one, that DOESN'T involve Counter Strike, or Battlefield. <<
Well I've been to a Halo 2 tournement once. That was two years ago, and to recent memory that is the only one I have been to. Not counting groups of friends!
