Or, at least, I do....
The first game never came out in the Uk, so this has been my first shot at the series, and I am very, very taken with it.
You start with the paperclips. Then the bottles and pencils. Then the fruit and small animals. Then the large animals and the suitcases. Then the people. Then the cars. Then the buildings. Then the world, and the entire cosmos!
The great thing is that I'm not exaggerating one bit.
There's also the gingerbread house, the undersea level, the sumo wrestler... and the catchiest theme ever.
This keeps me most happy until Friday, when we finally get Psychonauts.
I saw a preview of this game on a demo disc some time ago. Noticed it had the trademark japanese weirdness i love so much. And also, the fact it looked insanely addictive.
Would definitely play it, if only I could find the elusive little bugger!
I want We Love Katamari. I have the first one and aboslutely loved it.

We <3 Katamari is MUCH better. And longer. And in the final story mode mission, if you get large enough (we're talking over 3000 meters here), you can actually pick up the King of All Cosmos. :3
i've played a copy (not sure which version, but it was all in wonderful engrish) on a freind's PS(2?).
i so want to play it again, it's insane in such a good way. ^^
I definately plan on getting this, ICO and Shadow of the Collosus when I'm no longer in a different country to my PS2.
Well, no. I want to get them when I'm in the same country as my PS2, but that would be at the end of a semester where money isn't all that... prevalent.
I can only hope that between now and April, the world order is changed to one where I can purchase goods by either disco dancing badly or giving bananas to our simian overlords. Or I get a job. But that's ridiculous.
Seriously though, is there much longevity to the game? Or is it more one of those 'just one more go...' dealies?
I might grab a copy, the game has intrigued me for too long not to. But at the moment, I'm not bothering with games much. It's a chore to get a 5 song work out, committing to a brand new game is a bit much, for now.
...it's out on this side of the pond now? Ooh, I'll have to have me a look for that. Likelyhood is I'll rent first, tho.

Considering the game type, it's surprisingly long. Story mode you might get through in 5-10 hours, but the extra missions, multiplayer, and replay value can easily double or triple that.
10 Days untill I get Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Any money left over will be spent on this.
The only bad thing i have heard about We Love Katamari is that it has a worse soundtrack than the first one. which we never got.

ROLL UP THE KING OF COSMOS. My life's missions MUST be to get that game now!

I managed to hear We Love Katamar's OST and I admit, it doesn't have the first game's catchy music.

The We <3 Katamari OST isn't awful, in fact it sound better when you play the game since many of the tracks fit certain themed level and they are overall catchy.
So yeah, I own the game and I love it. I agree that it has more replayablity than the first one since it contains serveral levels with special objective such as collecting sweets through a gingerbread house and collecting cars in a race track(which is one of the best level). There are objectives where you have to complete a level as fast as you can. There is also a new co-op mode which I never got a chance to try do to having one working PS2 controller.
If this is your first Katamari game, then I would highly recognmend just buying the game(skip the rental) since it is a must have title for the PS2.
The co-op mode is surprisingly workable.
Anyways, I bought from Amazon.co.uk. I don't think shops over here stock it yet (at least my local ones don't)

My MP3 player has more songs from We <3 Katamari than the first one, if that says anything. I personally like the second one more.
"NA NA...NANA NANA NA NA NANA Katamari Damacy! NA NA...NANA NANA NA NA NANA Katamari on the Swing!"
Do you realise how mis-leading it is to say "I prefer the second one's music" and then sing the themesong of the first game?
Those ARE words from We <3 Katamari's main theme 'Katamari on the Swing'.
Case in point. (SH: NO MP3 DOWNLOADS DARNIT)
It's actually quite different.
I will definitely get this game but 40? Crikey! And it's sold out on Play at 30...dammit!
I liked We ♥ Katamari better than Katamari Damacy only for more levels and the adversity of each level. I think that the musics are good in both games. But gameplay is suprisingly better in We ♥ Katamari.
SPOILARS (maybe):
Though I absolutely despise the 1,000,000 Hearts level. (I haven't tried much, but I was able to get 60,000 so far.)
I also really like the ability to change which cousin to play as. (Beyond, Twinkle, and The Prince with the fox mask on, FTW.) I also loved how each present changes specifically to each character.
I love how in Katamari Damacy I thought, "OMG 865m THAT'S HUUUUUGE!!!" and then two months ago I almost had a stoke at getting all the way up to 2,655m in We ♥ Katamari. I still haven't been able to roll up the King of The Cosmos. ;.;

Make hearty use of the dash ability to move faster. Use it a lot.
What million hearts level?
