I was wondering what you guys thought is the coolest looking console ever.not counting next gen.
I would say the saturn; it just has a cool look to it that I like.
do you mean the coolest looking (as in design) or the coolest about (OMG it RAWKs!1) or the best at not melting your game disk?
i like the gamecube, mainly because it easily fits in my bag. it's a good design thing, along with it's purple colour. (purple FTW!)

Hmmm design. I'd have to go with the 360. Too sleek. In actual coolestness(what actually counts) the Dreamcast. This is what God and Chuck Norris have their Soul Caliber tournaments on. =P
Wii. Why? The design is sex, consolefied. Small, sleek like an iPod. Virtual Console? Hell Yes... Twenty plus years of classic games, bingo... Motion sensor controller that can act as, say, as sword? Roger that command.
My next favorite? The NES... Why, do you ask, would I choose this ancient pile of plastic and silicon? Because you can't beat that classic controller.
A GBA SP is good too.
GameCube with the purple and cube shape and the handle.
Next is Dreamcast, it's just very attractive with white and curves.
A very close runner up to Dreamcast would be SNES, with the purple and white design and probably the best looking controller.
4th would probably be NES, with the 2nd best looking controller.

The handle's ridiculous. Did Nintendo count on us carrying it around a lot? Because I'm at loss to explain its function.
Hmm, I like my black GameCube quite a bit. Nice design, size, and my favorite color for a console. And that handle on the back is fairly convenient since I take it to my brother's every so often for some two player Mario Kart fun stuffs. Slim PS2 is kind of nice looking and certainly doesn't take up much space, but I've never liked how flimsy the lid feels.
Wii, Its discreet and simple. Its everything Sony wanted PS2 to be.
I dont really find anything of the current gen to be that cool. Gamecube is sickly sweet, PS2/PS2 Slimline and Xbox are ugly. Dreamcast was alright I suppose.
The original Playstation was cool.
Most consoles are... ugly. As far as visual appeal goes, I'd have to say the DS Lite.
Slim PS2. I think they basically nailed the design on that one. It's very compact, feels sturdy, and has clean, sharp lines. Frankly, anything with sharp lines is a winner in my book. The 360 looks pretty cool too, especially the UI and the Ring of Light.
I'm still waiting for a chance to touch and handle a Wii (the actual machine, that is; I played it at E3) to pass judgement on that one.
In terms of pure exterior design, I'd say the PSOne was a nice one, from pictures I'd say Wii though, sleek, small, and blue neon disc slot. Most consoles haven't had great designs mind.... (looks at the Xbox).
