I enjoyed it up until I got to the final boss without that many healing items. Now I have to backtrack... bleh. Wasn't there a way to get 20 items in your sack instead of 10?

Anyway, playing New Super Mario Bros. and Gunstar Super Heroes right now.

Half-Life 2, Episode 1.
Your game is probably a) longer, b) otherwise inferior.

I believe "Super Sack" can be found in one of the levels of the Pit of 100 Trials.

Aw, man, Zero, PM:TTYD is awesome!!!! I loved it and I was truely engrossed in it playing every chance I got. To tell you the true, I will greatly be surprised if you don't enjoy it.

It just arrived yesterday, and while I haven't had time to play it a lot yet, it's seeming great so far. :D I don't generally play many RPGs (the only two I own are Super Mario RPG and Mega Man X Command Mission), but SMRPG is still one of my favorite games, so I'm liking some of the similarities in this game quite a bit. (like the Action Command system, similar in some ways to the Timed Hits system that I liked a lot in SMRPG) Not the mention the already interesting and humorous storyline. This is looking like another game I should've looked into a long time ago. I get the feeling there are probably several of those...

So as was probably already made clear, I've finished up with Zelda: OoT, and I'm now playing the aforementioned Paper Mario: TTYD.

Currently playing through Shadow Hearts. I can't believe I missed this gem when it first surfaced years ago. Wish I could've played Koudelka so I could get all the references, but what are you going to do?

Afterwards, I'll either continue with its sequel Convenant or try to finish Dragon Quest VIII off for good.

MP:H... I'm about 70% done with the story (excluding scans...I'm not going to bother trying to get 100% on those...). I'm trying to get ready for when THS gets his. But my hands hurt sooo much... Hopefully my Lite will feel better... I'll give you guys my impressions on Sunday... or Monday at the latest...

Koudelka has a nice plot, but very poor battle system. You ain't missing much.
Covenant, however, I can recommend.

Lately, I've been going through the .Hack series, and am roughly 3/4 of the way through Part 2, at the moment.

After I finish all four parts, I'm probably gonna head on to finish Star Ocean: TOT, and then Dragon Quest VIII.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant is only $20 at Wal-Mart, if you haven't picked it up. It is quite a steal at that price.

Oh, and I'm still playing DQ8 and it is still sweet. I just need one more mini-medal for the Staff of Divine Retribution and off to the Dark Ruins, I go!

Say hi to Dhoulmagus for me. And by hi, I mean kick his ass.

I picked up Convenant and the first Shadow Hearts (used) at the same time, but didn't get around to playing them until just recently. After playing through the first half of Shadow Hearts I went and bought From the New World. That's how much of a whore I am.

Anyway, finished part 1. On to Part Deus, the hawt Karin chapter.

Just finished up with Paper Mario: TTYD recently. (not 100% complete though, just finished the storyline, went back to finish the Trouble Center, and tried out the Pit of 100 Trials, where I bailed out at level 80, which is satisfying enough for me currently.) Definitely was a great game, worth every cent. I still think SMRPG for the SNES is my favorite, but Paper Mario: TTYD is pretty close. Should've looked into the series a long time ago. It's also kind of restored my opinion of Mario related stuff a bit after how disgusted I was with Mario Sunshine. I just may have to look into getting the original Paper Mario for N64 even though it's a little pricey...

Anyway, now that I'm done with that I was getting back to Halo a little, but I've gotten into a rather strange mood and have found myself playing NASCAR Thunder 2002 for the PS1. I really have no idea why. We'll see how long that lasts, since hitting the gas and turning left can only hold my attention for so long. I'll probably drop it and go back to Halo soon.

Won't matter much either way though, since my preordered copy of Armored Core: Last Raven is supposed to be ready to pick up on the 14th. :D

Well, let me put it this way: it took me, what, a month or two to reach the final boss? I mean, that game's, like, 80 hours long or so... and here you are, doing it in less than a fortnight.

I mean, it's not a problem or anything. It's just really fast, that's all.

80 hours? O_O The in-game timer says I've logged just under 55 hours on my game save, and I left it paused a few times when I went off to do something else (and the timer still counts when paused)... I think it was at around 48 hours when I finished the actual storyline. >_> And here I thought I was being slow since I'm a bit obbessed with talking to everybody I see in games like these for fear of missing something amusing/interesting/important. :|

This is a little bit of a spoiler but keep on going, at level 100 is Hooktail and Gloomtail's big brother Bonetail. I haven't gone through all 100 levels, yet, but I found out about Bonetail through the official NP guide.

Don't forget, if your planning on getting the Wii, you could always download the original PM to the Virtual Console, which I assume is cheaper than finding the original cartiridge.

Yeah, I glanced at an online guide to see what was at the end (and if it was worth the trouble or not), and from what I've read that boss is supposed to be harder than the final boss of the storyline. :| Don't think I'll be ready to take that on for a while, heh...

As of currently I don't see myself getting a Wii, so in my case I'd probably be better off finding the cartridge (I'd be able to play it sooner that way as well). Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Oh, and in an attempt to stay on topic, I dropped NASCAR pretty fast as I expected (although I might mess with it a little bit more later), and I'm currently back to playing Halo. Probably about 2/3 through it and loving it so far. Nice to see how long some of the missions are, since I was initially worried the game might be kind of short when I saw the number of missions. Probably won't have time to, but I'm hoping to finish with Halo before I pick up Last Raven tomorrow, since I probably won't put that one down for some time once I start it. :D

Just finished up with Halo, which I had time for because my copy of Last Raven didn't arrive until today (well, technically yesterday by this forum's time). Liked it quite a bit, so now I'm kind of wishing I could get Halo 2 (despite the mixed reviews I've heard for it), which won't be possible until I get a 360 eventually (most likely not until 2007). But as for now now it's on to Armored Core: Last Raven. :D

*insert crazed fanboy happy dance here*

Hopefully I don't suck at it this one too much, since it's supposed to be a little harder, and the entry level test AC gave me a little more trouble than I was expecting. >_> Could partly be that I'm kinda rusty from not having played AC in a while I guess.

I also seem to be a little rusty with the PS2 controller in general as well. Been using the Xbox 360 and GameCube controllers too much lately I guess, because the PS2 controller feels a bit clunky and uncomfortable to me now. Hopefully I'll get used to it again. Wish someone would make an adapter to let me use the wired 360 controller on the PS2...

Anyway, yay Armored Core! :cackle

About Halo 2... it's pretty simple, really. It's a good game. It's just bloody overrated. There's no reason you shouldn't enjoy it, but you shouldn't be expecting the next coming of Jesus from it.

I agree with that really. If you like Halo, Halo 2 is just as good.

I am playing Burnout: Revenge on PS2. Its brilliant. The only bad thing about it is the loading times. They are quite long.

Also I have been playing the Sonic Advance Series. Because its summer and summer is GBA season. I found Advance 3 the worse in terms of picking up and playing (I hadn't played the game for a while). Advance 1 and 2 were alright though.

I also got Unreal Championship 2 for Xbox Preowned(Metal Case! <3). Haven't got used to it yet.

Saving for a DS lite now. Sonic Rush, Wario Ware, Metroid Prime Hunters and Phoenix Wright FTW.

Back to UT2K4 in Lord knows how long. Experimenting with a few settings here and there, to see just how smooth this thing runs at 1680x1050 on a 7600GT. Thus far, the answer seems to be "very". As long as I keep anti-aliasing at 4x, not 8x (this seems to present a slight lag between keyboard & mouse movement and the resulting display), things seem to go by really smooth indeed. Now all I need to do is reinstall the Halo characters, the Half-Life 2 characters (get back to running around as the G-Man, w00t), and... install those USB drives to the mobo already, so I can slap in the 360 controller and start playing Psychonauts.

In the meantime, though, laundry.

:lol I wasn't quite expecting that from it, so I guess I should probably like it...

As for the topic, I'm finding that I pretty much stink at Last Raven. >_< Some of the changes have rendered my combat style just about useless. It seems like the difficulty has gone from "hard" to "WTF". So I may be taking a little break from it for now...

But that's also partly because due to an unexpected turn of events, I have acquired an Xbox 360 as an early birthday gift. :| And I wuvs it. :cackle I'll avoid rambling for now though, so I'm currently alternating between Project Gotham Racing 3 and Halo (Xbox version). Halo 2 is on the way...

Yo ZeroSky you said AC:Last Raven is like crazy insane. I was looking forward to it. So I guess it's not so bad that I don't have my PS2 anymore. I'll still probably end up getting AC:NB and LR when I finally acquire a PS3 in 2010.

Well, I'd most likely still recommend getting it if you're an AC fan. It probably depends on the person's combat style. I tend to use missiles quite a bit, which no longer works well in this game. I think it's because while they've increased the speed of the ACs, the missiles still travel at the same speed as before, so it's considerably easier for the AI to dodge my shots. (not the mention that the AI is much smarter in general, I read somewhere it was supposedly based off of data collected at a Japanese AC tournament, yikes) But it may not be near as big of a deal to someone who doesn't use missles. And you should also take into account that I might just suck. :p (although I didn't have too much trouble with previous games) Either way, I'd definitely recommend importing Nexus or Nine Breaker data, as I can't imagine using the starting AC in this game. :|

And if you're interested in the games, I might recommend getting them now even if you can't play them, since AC games often get hard to find after not very long. You could have a heck of a time finding them if you wait that long.

Awesome, I never use missles so it's cool for me. =P I guess i'll try to find them now. I saw NB a few months back at EB, i'm sure it's no longer there. Once I get some money i'll definetly do that though. And Japanese tourney? Geez, I might have a good deal of trouble. Atleast it'll ge tme better for AC4 and it's dazzling online play. ^_^

I'm TRYING to beat FFX-2 again. I loved the first one so danged much, and no matter how many times I try, a combination of many things, including the heckishly insane ATB system has kept me from it. This is literally my fourth attempt, and I'm bound and determined to try and beat it this time.

What sort of setup do you use, out of curiosity? I've tried various different things before, but I've never found anything I could do very well with in previous games except for my current missle setup (or a few variations of it).

As for the topic, I'm still playing PGR3 mostly, with a little Halo and some fiddling with the MotoGP 06 demo.

Let's see it's been a good while since i've played AC, but I can remember my setups. Ok for my heavyweight dude, I use a bazooka for the RW and I believe a shield for my LW. On my back i'll have some large rockets and maybe some small missles(can't remember that well). Biped of course. For my hover guy he does he mid sized missles with a MG or rifle as my RW and a pretty good blade as my LW. Then for my favorite, Cypher(my ultra lightweight guy). He's biped with small rockets a handgun and the best blade.(My tactic with him is overheating the opponent then when they overheat close in on them with my trusty blade ^_^) The rockets autoaim takes a good amount of practice but once you get it, you got it. Hope that gives you a different approach at creating your ACs.

As for the topic, I just received Power Stone and SA1 back from my friend. Si i'm literally gonna play Power Stone for the next 5 months. ^_^

Hmm, maybe I'll have to try experimenting with some different setups next time I get the nerve to play it again...

As for now, Halo 2 arrived yesterday. Played it a bit, and while I miss a couple of the weapons from Halo 1, it seems fine so far (and looks pretty nice). I'm finding I like a couple of the new things, like duel-wielding, more than I expected. And the Arbiter missions (only completed one so far, just about to start the second) are a fairly interesting and unexpected change of pace. Can't say I don't look forward to getting back to the normal missions, though. But so far I don't have any major complaints.

Finished up with Halo 2 recently. I guess it's good that I went into it with somewhat low expectations, because I ended up liking it more than I expected. I had complaints about a couple things here and there, such as the abrupt ending (as I was expecting) and a couple other things with the storyline, but overall I still liked it quite a bit.

Suppose I should spoilerize this for those who haven't played it yet...

Spoilers (Select To Read): My main complaint with the story in general is that I can't decide what I think of the way they kind of try to get you to sympathize with the Covenant (or at least part of them) through the Arbiter missions. It adds a little more depth to it, but I can't decide if I liked it better when there was no gray area, just Covenant=bad. Either way it should be interesting to see how things turn out in Halo 3 (whose trailer definitely makes more sense to me now after playing the games).

But I am hoping there aren't any Arbiter missions in Halo 3. It was kind of a nice change of pace and viewpoint for a while in Halo 2, but eventually I end up just wanting to get back to the Chief's missions (which is kind of why I'm playing the game). So I'd personally prefer Halo 3's missions are Master Chief only, or at least mostly.

As for the actual ending, it's not that I have a problem with cliffhanger endings, it's that this one was so abrupt. It didn't really feel much like an ending. And I was hoping it would at least end with a mission focusing on the Chief rather than the Arbiter. But even with those complaints, I still liked the game quite a bit overall, better than I was expecting.

And there I go rambling yet again... Anyway, done with that, so now I'm playing through the Xbox version of Halo just to have completed that version at least once. (Or at least I would be if it wasn't so blasted hot upstairs. I'm currently sitting in the recently air conditioned downstairs with my laptop. I hate summer. >_< Really need to get A/C upstairs...)

I'm also checking the Xbox Live Marketplace every so often to see if a demo of Over G Fighters happens to show up. Looks interesting from what I've seen and read, but I'm not dropping $60 on a game without knowing for sure that I'll enjoy it.

That'd be the version I picked up. Running just fine on a 7600 GT at 1680x1050, often times at well around 60 FPS, although occasionally it dips (it's a bloody high resolution, it's to be expected).

Just be forewarned, it comes on 5 CDs, and the CDs aren't terribly well cased - five little paper sleeves, with no flaps to lock them into place like OTHER programs that come in paper sleeves. Several of my CDs slid right out of the box without me realizing they'd do so; fortunately, no damage done, AFAIK. Oh, and it requires CD 1 to be in the disc drive to run it, despite installing a darn lot of the game onto the hard drive.

Still, it's worth it. I'd say it's about as funny as the average Monkey Island game - which makes sense, since the game's by one of that title's creators, and half of the Day of the Tentacle team. The gameplay itself is handled well, although I'm using an Xbox 360 pad to max out the experience; no comment on mouse-and-keyboard gameplay. Plus, it's cheap; you can listen to Guybrush Threepwood, since you shouldn't have to pay more than $20 for it. Barring tax or S&H.
