My friend lent me Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, so I've started on that... the controls are hard to get used to after so long with the Wii.
Finished MP2. Just started Star Wars KOTOR II. (guess Ive been in the mood to catch up on sequels I never got to play. ) And its been fun like the first so far.
I played about 20 minutes of Brawl and that's enough for me. Melee was awesome 'cause it had way more stuff than I could hope to get/do/accomplish and still have enough characters to keep me interested without seeming like too many. Brawl crosses that threshold into "Holy crap, where in the heck do I even think of starting?"-amount-of-stuff.
To those of you who enjoy the uber-customization the game offers, glad you like it. For people like me, who enjoy the games given to us and we deal with the stuff we don't like? You can have our copies of the game.
But this isn't my ranting topic 😀
Meanwhile, I've also been speeding into the fourth case of Apollo Justice. After four weeks and three cases, I was ready to just put the game down and say "enough's enough. I'm sick of this game." But a step into the fourth case has me wanting to go down and grab the DS now and play it all day long just to see wtf is going on.

Wow, you really didn't like it just because you felt overwhelmed? That didn't even phase me. I like it just because it's Smash Bros. and it's an improvement of Melee in nearly every regard. And you seriously prefer dealing with the things you don't like rather than tailoring a game to your own specifications? That's really odd.
I agree to an extent, too much customization without enough given content is pretty lame. That's why I hated Eliteboard.
Still on KOTOR 2. Breezing through it so far. Still a lot of fun.
Ico
oh yes
Playing through Bully: Scholarship Edition on Wii. Excellent game--I wish I had played it sooner.
Metal Gear Solid 4. But just for today.
I've been playing it all day
Just this minute completed Persona 3. God, long game was long.
But jesus christ was it insanely AWESOME. There were a lot of elements about it which were repetitive but the whole style and substance of it was incredible. The characters were fantastic (other than Ken who I swear to God has the shittiest voice in a video game ever), and the battle system was fun.
I kind of disliked how easy the final boss was, though. =( At it's best, it could only do about 60hp damage to any member of my party... and considering my MC had 999Hp and the rest of my party were around 500-600hp, that was nothing. Still, I guess it should be considered when my Party are all 90 to 99, but the way the story built up the final battle made it feel incredibly unwhelming. Perhaps I was too overleveled, but I think RPGs like this should have their bosses more comparable to the main Party's strength, so that no matter what level you are it should be a challenge. As it was I felt... cheated. (lol Takaya died in one turn without doing any damage to me 8O)
I'll give the final boss this, though: It had an asskicking design and god damn was it persistant.
Cheesy ending was anime cliche cheesy. On the one hand it makes me despise P3 but on the other I have to consider how the whole game and half of its gameplay mechanic was based on it, so there isn't really much to complain about it. I just wish it could have continued to be as different as it was for the rest of the game in terms of the story not fulfilling such cliches.
Still, can't complain about some of the best 69 hours of my life.

**nods sagely**
The final boss was more of a chore for me because I chose to face it right away instead of grinding character levels to the 90's, and consequently was much more in awe of its ability to beat me down. I was literally cursing at the screen, I tell you. Played again a while back before the PS2 went kaput and noticed how insanely easier that last fight was once your levels averaged 90. I agree it's a shame, and yes I think the boss should have been pumped up if you managed to hit Level 99 (much like FFVII did) since its so easy to dominate the fight.
Well, there's the optional boss to consider but I doubt you'll want to play the game again so soon just to fight it.
EDIT: Oh yeah. Picked up Fire Emblem Path of Radiance earlier. I neglected to dwelve into the newer console versions because I thought the GBA games would sustain my appetite for Tactical Medieval Strategy: Fire Emblem Solid.
Oh ho ho!.. but never mind my ignorance, I can't believe how hard it is to find new GameCube games these days. All of the brick and mortar shops have dumped their GC titles for newer (but not necessarily better) stock. Online wasn't much better, and anything even remotely rare (like, oh, FIRE EMBLEM) fetches top dollar on auction sites. Fortunately, I found one used copy for 25 bucks at a GameStop (one of the few game shops in my area that still bothers with used GC games) and promptly claimed it. Shame there's no original game case or manual.
Now all I need is to re-procure the Metroid Primes and perhaps REmake to round things off, and at last my GC collection will be com-ple-ted!
I've got another save file that's at about a week before the end, so if I wanted to I could always go back and try out that secret optional boss, but for now I think a weel deserved P3 break is in order.
Actually, I tried fighting the Reaper before I completed the game whilst my party was about MC being Level 97 and the rest being in the higher 80s. I got raped the first time but the second time was pretty smooth sailing- its about the difficulty level the actual final boss should have been. However it was seriously annoying that after I managed to get the Reaper to a sliver of health, where one final attack would have KO'd him... he actually managed to connect with Mahamaon and wipe out my entire party.
OHKO attacks ftl. =(
I suppose if I tried again with my much higher level party he would have been a breeze but I just felt in the mood to actually finish the game.
And yes, the Metroid Primes and REmake are ESSENTIAL for your GC catalogue (well, MP2:E less so, but its still awesome all things considered).
As for what I'm playing now, I'm continuing away at Brawl and preparing to lose another 100+ hours of my life with Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Final Fantasty XII.
The reaper dies to a single Armageddon, mind you.
Skate for the 360, always disliked the tonyhawk series and never really been interested in skatebording and simply bought the game on a whim.
Best DECISION EVER, I LOVE IT.
The reaper dies to a single Armageddon, mind you.
Armageddon breaks the game, though. Seriously, Lucifer w/ that last skill learned (forget the name) which regenerates all your SP after a battle + fusion spam = SUPER EASY BABY MODE Persona 3. Fortunately, the game's all but over by the time you get it.
I'm playing the demo of Armored Core for Answer (it's on the japanese marketplace). It's pretty cool but has only one mission on it. Really can't wait for it to come out to the states.
Yeah, my point was that I wanted a challenge but not to the point where it's ridiculous with bosses able to OHKO you.
I played Brawl while at a Gamestop and it seems decent...controlling it with the Wii-mote sucks but not enough for me to consider getting a Wii again.
Lately I've been playing FF8...I made the mistake of going to far on the 3rd disc and having to deal with the stupid 4th disc antics...trying to get Dragon Fangs for Squall's weapon but after 6 hours...no such luck. The game hates me.
Oh and the DS3 controller is awesome.
Armored Core for Answer demo, eh? Gosh how I wish I had the money to get a PS3[roommate has a 360 so the PS3 is what we need]. I take it you've played 4, yes?
Star Wars KOTOR 2- its been getting good. Hope I'm almost done because I have others I need to get to.
Playing my sister's Animal Crossing for the DS. I have to say I really despise the useless top screen. It shows the sky. Not even the tops of buildings. Just the sky. They should at LEAST have put a map there. It's just annoying because a rip-off of this game that she also owns, MySims, uses the top screen effectively, so it''s jarring to play the exact same game, except it's horribly crippled.
I sent Path of Radiance back to the rentals, will be sending Sega SuperStars Tennis back in the next few days and am going to rush through the Radiant Dawn Game+ Mode starting tonight with the maximum speed/no animations.
After I send Radiant Dawn back I'm cancelling my rental service and going to kiss goodbye to my game collection by having one last ride. I'm kind of sad to note my entire PS1 collection has been lost in moves and my Dreamcast is out of comission...
So the only things I'll be playing are PS2/GC era. Thinking a re-visit of the RE and MGS series is called for. I doubt I'll be re-purchasing anything Resident Evil related, I'll end up with MG:EC though...
What else should I play...
Star Fox 64. The voice actors make me squee with nostalgic joy. "DO A BARREL ROLL!"
Gitaroo Man. Found it for 30$ at Gamestop. FINALLY! Beat it on hard mode, trying to go through on Master's Play. Currently getting my butt kicked by Mojo King Bee. >_>
I tried playing Part 1 Endgame today of FE:RD today... and I got horribly raped.
On easy mode.
I suck :O:
Armored Core for Answer demo, eh? Gosh how I wish I had the money to get a PS3[roommate has a 360 so the PS3 is what we need]. I take it you've played 4, yes?
You just need to make a japanese account for the 360 and find it from there. And yes I have played 4. I only rented it because I didn't have the money to buy, but I sure did love it; except the controls were a little weird for an unexperianced AC player; luckily FA plays like AC 4 on steriods.
The demo only lets you play one level against an armed fort (i think thats what they're called) which is pretty hard. Needless to say the demo doesn't represent the core of the game too well.
Finished The Sith Lords. Was good, ending was crap, but game overall was decent. Nowhere near as good as the first, but it was cool.
Been playing alot of Shadow of the Colossus. The game is really freaking awesome, and I beat the 11th today, I can't wait to get all the secret items from time attack mode =D
Also I ended up beating Ico in 2 days. Man, I sped through that way too quick, and then lent it to someone. Now I really want to play it again, but I probably won't see the game for a while =/
Portal... <3 <3 <3
Frontlines: Fuel of War on the PC. Also recently bought Battlefield 2 and its' expansion and booster pack things.
Viva Pinata. Quite like it. I can see why they said its not kid friendly though. Everything happens at once and then everything cools down. And its not clear what is the best way to get money to buy stuff. (Selling Pinatas. )
Plus it was getting quite cramped in the play area but now I earned some more room. Yay.
Been practicing for my Big Boss run on Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes all week.
With Tricia at work today, I feel I can do it. Under 3 hours. No kills. No rations. No continues.
DESUDESUDESU!
Beat Shadow of the Colossus today. That was an amazing game, the ending had me tearing up. I thought that the fourteenth colossus was the greatest one (aside from the epic 16th), only due to how awesome it was to figure out how to get his vitals to show. Overall amazing, and it certainly explained somethings present in Ico. I'll probably end up trying to get all the items in time attack, and I'll try the game in hard mode a little later.
Mario Kart Wii.
Best in the series by some considerable way.
Out of nowhere my mom bought an HD tv. So I decided to try the xbox 360 the way it was meant to be played. I just started my third run through of Mass Effect and played a little multiplayer of Halo 3. Since the new tv is in the living room I won't beable to play on it much, I do about 99% of my gaming in my room, but it was pretty awesome for the time I did get to play on it.
My 360 came with a special cord to play HD so I didn't have to buy anything for it, but my Wii didn't come with any special cord. Is there any cord out there to play HD on Wii or am I stuck playing standard?
There are component cables available for it. However, the Wii can only output 480p at its highest, so you won't notice much of a difference.
EDIT: lol
Yes, component cables for the Wii exist. $30. Apparently it's quite worth it. I dunno how much I buy that but whatever.
Just finished Portal... daaaamn was that a beautiful game. Amazing concept too.
The component cable definitely makes a difference, but like Psx said, it's still only 480p - that's ED, not HD, so if you stare at the TV you'll still notice a general fuzziness/jagginess around the models to varying degrees depending on your TV model; it just won't be as bad as with composite/scart. A lot of people say that setting the sharpness to 0 helps, but I prefer the sharpness maxed.
Quite literally just about to start Professor Layton And The Curious Village.
Ahh ok, I see Abac. Sweetness. Was 4 your first time with AC? As for me...i've been Brawling a bit and watching a friend of mine play NMH. He's totally loving it, as am I watching. I picked up my hard mode playing as well. Just got to Rank 5. Man...I love that game.
Dynamite Headdy, for the Sega Genesis. Great Treasure classic. Quite a brilliant concept, I have to say, even if the gameplay is reminiscent of Ristar and the power concept are Kirby-ish.
Ahh ok, I see Abac. Sweetness. Was 4 your first time with AC?
Yeah it was my first time playing an Armored Core game.
I might go ahead and buy a component cable for the wii when I have a chance, but won't be my top priority.
The World Ends with You.
Best Squareenix game in quite some time.
Well this is certainly unexpected.
After playing Apollo Justice, I've felt like I needed a new game, but I simply haven't had the time between school and work. Thank goodness the DS has other wonderful games to play on-the-go, so I decided to pick up Mario Kart DS again. Dear lord, I used to be really good at that game and all of that seems to have faded in the past year or so.
Speaking of the past year or so, I've also picked up my Twilight Princess game after a 15-month hiatus. I FINALLY BEAT THE FOREST TEMPLE, W00T! ....Only to get stuck in the Lakebed temple because the name itself sends shivers down my spine. Water levels and I do NOT get along. x_o;

Just got Team Fortress 2 for the PC... Seems fun after the one game I played... I was really excited as I didn't have any lag =)
Also started The World Ends With You... idk, we will see how it turns out.
Bought Shadow of the Colossus the other day and yeah, this game is truly awesome. It is such a beautiful game. The Colossi are hard at times to figure out but once you take them down you really feel rewarded. Awesome game, I just beat the 8th one.
I'm thinking of getting Ico after, I haven't got to play that one yet either, but decided on getting SotC first since it appealed to me more.
Managed to find Spidey for the PS1 and Aria of Sorrow for the GBA for REALLY cheap, so am playing Spider-Man for the first time.
I missed this when it was new, so am looking forward to this.
I played that one on Dreamcast! It was quite excellent at the time.
I never played the second one, though.
