Nope. 360 user here. Also, yes, I do remember that mission. I'm fine with pretty much anything in Armored Core, EXCEPT fights against other ACs. I can just never keep up with them. I did eventually manage to best that particular fight, but with a bare minimum of AP left. (Less than triple digits if memory serves correct). =/

360, huh? Darn! Oh well. But yea usually the CPUs AC's are crazy insane[maybe because of OP-Intensify or Human Plus!! =P] Usually I would be so busy dodging I barely have time to attack so they end up running out of ammo or something. =P But FA seems to be better indeed. Am I the only one that had a hard time adjusting to the FPS controls of AC4, or did you as well Gyser? I'll admit I haven't really had time to sit down for days tweaking and fixing up my AC, like I did on my PS2[used a friend's 360] so that may be part of the problem. Anywho...I really want to try out FA, but I really really want to get 4 as well. Can't you transfer data?

Still on Tos II. I'm getting tired of it because I gotta do all this damn monster levelling that is NOT. FUN. Not to mention catching the last few freaks and evolving them 80 different damn ways. It was cool in the beginning, but this is day 6. I wanna start my 10x exp run and be done with detailed monster levelling already.

::Goes back to Clay Golem and Mimic:: ...2800 levels to go...

I'm stuck in the Temple of Lightning because my television's brightness setting or something is broken, and I can't see anything in the dark areas. And I keep getting struck by lightning. I want the good ending for this part of the game, darn it.

I hate the monster training too.

I had no trouble adjusting to the control scheme, but that'd be because I play a lot of FPS's anyway. I love the new control scheme, and I don't think I'd change it for the world. And yes, you can transfer your data from AC4 to FA, but only your AC schematics transfer. You still have to re-buy/earn the parts. It's not bad if you've unlocked a lot of the schematics from AC4 though, as this way you can have a full gallery of ACs to build. =)

I see, I see. Alright well I guess i'll wait for FA to drop then. =P And maybe go over to a friend's and practice with some FPSs. XD!

Playing Amored Core FA, wow it is really hard. There's a lot of trial and error gameplay, but i like that, it makes it feel less arcadey than it could have been. But the fight against enemy AC's is a bit ridiculous at times, they move too fast, they could at least make the camera constantly focus on the enemy or something like in Virtual On. And the environments are a bit bare. The mech building is half the game though, and it is fun making a mech you like. I am a Gundam fan so i wanted to use blades more, but the game doesnt really encourage melee weaponry as much as i'd like (makes sense though, safer from a distance). The music is quite good too (i'd even get the soundtrack for it), although it is very much dimmed in the background, maybe it's because i dont have some kind of awesome surround sound setup.

And yes Geyser, fort battles are amazing. I havent been that impressed by a mech game since the air fleet battle in Zone of Enders Second Runner.

Also been getting a bit of Ace Combat 6 action going, since i've had it for ages. I guess it's good at being an air combat simulator since it's pretty boring. =P Cant say much else about it, except the cut scenes are stupid. It's like watching The Pianist in-between missions.

Heh, yea that was strange. Lame connection. It's been acting up some lately. Try again sometime soon indeed.

Aww man that's lame. I'm a blader too, and in the older games I always had a sick blade design. That was like my goal...create a blader that was the AC equivalent of Cypher, from VOOT you know?[actually did that in Nexus]. I still think i'll pick up FA once it is cheaper. I need my mech combat. =P

Yeah, fights against enemy ACs can be a case of 'pray they get stuck on scenery so you can actually hit them' a lot of the time. And yes, the environments have never been Armored Cores strong points. The ACs and your enemies are wonderful to look at though, which I guess should be the case as they are the main focal points.

The game doesn't encourage blade combat, but it is certainly a viable option. Probably not now in the game, but once you have all the parts and a better handle on the combat system, blade combat can be an awesome strategy against a lot of enemies, especially when dual-blading.

The soundtrack is indeed awesome, especially the tracks 'Today' and 'The Spilit (sic) Of Motherwill'.

Haven't been playing much myself. Just picked up a copy of Jade Cocoon 2 so I plan to give that a try soon. That, or Final Fantasy X-2.

Replaying Mass Effect. Mostly to get the "Renegade" achievement. Basically playing as someone who is a bit of a @%!%. Don't enjoy the conversation side as much.

I do love the game though. Bioware have created a great little universe. Plus I got the Bring Down the Sky DLC. Nice little add on, shame there isn't any more.

Just finished up Fable 2. It was a decent game, but still wasn't great. Very dry battle wise, especially with any fear of death removed. Very rarely did battles require anything more than button smashing. The DLC sounds interesting, but isn't worth my $8. I'd be tempted to keep the game till it goes down in price, but I don't see that happening for months at least. I only paid $30 for the game, bought from a buddy who was going to sell it to the used store we work at for that same price ... and if I sell it on amazon right now, I can get ~$35 for it HURRAY FOR PROFIT

So yeah, in general I enjoyed the game, did as many of the quests that I could. Bought up all of the big, special landmarks. I also took the hard road and tried to be as good as physically possible... and then went on many massacres after finishing the game proper That was probably the most fun... being able to mow down the citizens like nothing, and the guards being able to do squat about it

The ending kinda pissed me off slightly... gave up basically all the organic beings I cared about so that the whole world would thank me (so the most morally beneficial ending).

OH, one last thing about the game. AWESOME VOICE ACTOR CHOICE I heard this black guy talking and at first I had a hard time figuring out who it was... Sounded a bit like Morgan Freeman... Finally realized it was Shepard Book himself, Ron Glass!

I'm 30 hours into Persona 3. Its actually alot better then I thought it would be, and I was expecting alot out of it too. Well the level grinding is starting to get to me, but the story is really keeping me into it.
Still plugging away at Unreal Tournament 3 also. I still havn't changed my mind on it; good action but the story might as well not be there. I guesse its just there to practice for multiplayer, which I have not been able to try out yet, but I really want to.

I'm guessing you're beginning to near the middle of P3 where I found it to start getting a bit tedious and monotonous, but it definitely picks up later on towards the end.

Word of advice, don't powerlevel at the end otherwise an epic final boss is totally spoiled.

Yup, I'm on summer vacation and the day goes by in a minute and I'm getting pestered like heck to go to Tarterus. I'm paranoid that I'll be under-leveled on a full moon and get stuck, so I'm just there leveling up like crazy. Actually that's what happened to me in Lost Odyssey; I'm stuck on a boss, and I don't want to restart and play another 50 hours just to get where I'm at.
Well taking your advice I'll try not leveling up too much to spoil anything.

I'm still in TOS II.

99% of Monsters found.

NO IDEA what I'm missing since I'm using the guides and well, every damn Monster seems to be here. Its to the pint where I'm writing down the skills learned by all the top evolution monsters in every branching line-and going through all my monsters to make sure that I've evolved everything as much as possible before I chalk it up the the game not knowing how to effing count !!!

Then I can fly through my 10x Run.

Otherwise, playing Diamond to gear up for Platinum and saving money up for my 360 !!

Grinding's pretty much impossible in Lost Odyssey since the game forbids it. You either fully level up or get like 1 exp. If you're already leveled up enough then you just need a better strategy or equips... what boss are you at?

I'm at the spot where you have to split into two teams of two. Its right where you can't get to Gongora because there is a shield blocking him.
The boss will use shine on me and I won't be able to land a hit on him. I don't have anything to cure blindness either. I've gotten to the point of only needing to get one or two hits on them but I always end up dead.

You should have some items that could cure blindness... surely? Eye drops or whatever LO calls them.

Also: team suggestions are Kaim/Sarah and Seth/Jansen since the bosses need to be ko'd together. I think I got stuck once because of the blindness, but I always make sure to stock up on all ailment curing items and general healing items. o.o

Keep perservering.

As for me! I'm enjoying a bit of Valkyria chronicles (finally beat that annoying Maximillian tank ), Left 4 Dead for 360 (anyone want a game?) and Mass Effect (unbelievably awesome).

I've been playing Assassin's Creed for the past couple of nights. I picked it up during Black Friday for $9.99 Game is alright, although it could be better. I feel really weak as the assassin... Having guards wham on me is lame... But escaping on rooftop a la Aladdin, is pretty awesome

I'm guessing I forgot how to use the hidden blade technique, so that might be part of my problem. I still have Left 4 Dead to get back to, but with Pach now having the game hopefully Srol and I can play some more

I also have Dead Rising to play, although I'm not that impressed. I'm not a fan of having my weapons break after x uses =(

Aside from those 360 games, I have World of Goo on my PC to play, along with Chrono Trigger DS. I also have to finish Mother 3 at some point... damnit

EDIT: Wow... now that I remember how to choose my weapon, this game is pretty fun *silently leaps and kills the guards *

Call of Duty: World at War. My friends wanted me to play the multiplayer so much, one of them who doesn't shop at Sainsburys any more used his Nectar points to buy it for me.

As it turns out, I dislike the multiplayer immensely. I'm starting to become quite vocal about it, which makes me sound like an ungrateful !!%!. Hopefully they will lose interest in it soon.

Nazi Zombies is fun though...

So close to finishing both Mother 3 and Crisis Core I can taste it.

As for console games, other than Persona I find I just can't get excited about most new games these days.

So I'm taking another stab at the dot.hack//G.U. series in anticipation for the newly announced dot.hack//LINK for the PSP. First up: Rebirth.

I'm still on chapter 7 in Mother 3... just trying to level up my characters so the fight with the masked man is a little easier.

On the 360, I've been steadily plugging away at Assassin's Creed. Hopefully I'll be done with the game by the end of the week. Pretty fun, very Aladdin like. Still a fan of assassinating the roof guards and having their bodies slip off the roof, freaking out the citizens below

What's .Hack//GU like, Psx? I bought the original .Hack//Infection and played through that and thought it was terribly crap. Boring dungeon crawler, supbar graphics and terrible storyline, not to mention the developers having the audacity to split it into four games and thus expecting you to pay 4x as much as you should be.

As for me, I'm currently still trawling through Mass Effect, Valkyria Chronicles and Left 4 Dead.

More of the same, really. If you thought it was crap before, this one won't do much to change your mind. Combat is a slight improvement (though magic, save the occasional healing, will prove to be useless... you'll be using physical attacks for everything), graphic-wise it's similar except for the overuse of bloom lighting during FMVs, and the story... well, except for the protagonist being a bit of a jerk early on it's very similar (journey within the gameworld to discover the truth behind a friend's coma).

Unlike the previous series, a big part of the gameplay and storyline in G.U. is Player Killing. Occasionally the dungeon crawling is broken up by bouts in the Arena where you fight it out against an NPC party for ranking or to advance the plot. And then there's the Avatar battles... but to elaborate on that means going into spoiler territory.

So yeah. Plot pacing overall is loads better than the first series (I too thought it dragged its feet around far too much, and there's four volumes of it to sift through), and it has its occasional 'hell yeah!' moments. G.U. makes only passing references to the first series so if you felt inclined you could play it without missing out... and if you're still curious even after all this I can only really recommend it as a rental.

Hiro, if you were any sort of man you'd have told me to leave you behind anyway and save myself, like pretty much every other player I've stumbled across in Left 4 Dead.

My 360 is on its death bed right now. It's developing a severe case of E74. If you don't know what E74 is then just imagine the following: everthing is fuzzy, there's some bar code looking lines spread around the screen, or everything has a green hue to them. So my Xbox will be taking a little vacation in Texas (where MS fixes them in the US). I'll be catching up on No More Heroes on the Wii and finishing up Persona 3 on the PS2 in the meanwhile.

Before my 360 blew out, I tried finishing Lost Odyssey. I got a little bit further. I'm assuming I'm at the last boss; just try to figure out a weakness. No luck so far on that though.

Also played the Resident Evil 5 demo. I've never played a RE game so I wasn't too sure what to expect, but it came out as a really bad experiance. Horrible controls and it just felt kind of clunky to move around. The controls felt like they were pretending there were only one control stick instead of two. And I just couldn't get used to being forced to use the LT to shoot and reload. I'm sure if I would have played the previous games and were familiar with the controls I would have at least enjoyed just a little bit of it.

Just beat Persona 4, saw all of the endings and now going through it again. It's sad that even after all this time, I still have horrid accuracy/timing at striking shadows in the dungeon maps. I miss my one-handed swords and spears, dammit. (even though they would be next to useless for striking the flying ones) =/ And a MegaTen game with an unquestionably happy ending? Now I've seen everything... =p

I've also picked up Dead Rising but I haven't touched it yet.

I've heard nothing but bad things about 360 fans. You most likely just got lucky and bought one of the few Xbox 360's that don't break.

Mostly been trying to finish Persona 3. Still getting good progress on it; I'm surprised the last few bosses have been pretty easy. I just use a persona that's immune to their attack and I can just heal everyone that gets hurt.

dot.hack//G.U. Rebirth is finished. Onward to Vol.2: Reminisce.

Also, wtf? at Mother 3 ending. What is it with Japan and ambiguous, open-ended endings? It's like Itoi couldn't scrap up a conclusion that would satisfy anyone so he left a great big question mark for us to mull over. That last little unorthodox ending 'gimmick' just isn't going to cut it, man... I want proper narrative closure!

Good game, regardless.
