Hm, but won't a fan introduce all kinds of filth into the console's innards?

Have you ever seen the insides of a used GameCube? D:

No, and neither have you. Those things are made from Nintendium. Impossible to break open.

I'd be less worried about that, and more that the use of unofficial peripherals with your 360 voids your warranty, so if something does go wrong, Microsoft can and will tell you where to stick it.

Currently downloading the Halo Wars demo so that will be next on my to play list. Playing my legit copy of Chrono Trigger DS while I wait.

The fan doesn't push air into the system, but rather pulls it out. The vent holes behind the optical drive remain open. If you are really worried about dust contamination, go to a hardware store and by the green foam used for air filters in small engines like lawnmowers and weedwhackers, cut it to fit and glue it in place. It should last more than a year, before you need to replace it.

I don't think dust will really affect it. The only reason they break is because of a couple of stupid chips overheats. I think I'll look into a fan to use on my 360 that is out of warrenty; I'm currently trying to fix it myself.

Well I was able to get my other xbox working a little bit to download the Halo Wars demo. I was coming into it, not thinking it would be too good, but it turns out to be really fun. The controls definately work and the story seems to be pretty interesting. I think I might buy it, but I have a few games up ahead of it on my list.

I have never heard of a single 360 with an aftermarket fan overheating and frying the CPU. That's what causes the red ring of death: the CPU has died from heat stroke. If you run a 360 more than 2 hours straight without a fan, you're just pushing your luck. It's not worth the BS. Just get the fan. Won't cost more than $40; most under $30.

On the last days, I have been playing Unleashed. I have managed to get the "Sunny" achievement yesterday. I'll probably continue playing Unleashed until the seventeen of this month (when Street Fighter 4 comes out). After that, I'll play clean up any and all the games I have (except Sonic 2006, not going to bother with the medals or the S-ranks)

So can we add "not producing an official cooling unit for the X-Box 360" to the list of mistakes made by Microsoft?

More to the topic, I am currently on another Pokemon binge at the moment.

Of course. Every 30GB Zune up and died at the same time, worldwide...coincidence? This IS Micro**** we're talking about here...

I finished Uncharted on my vacation. I wish I could say that "I ALSO FINISHED BIOSHOCK and DARKNESS and DARK SECTOR and NO MORE HEROES, etc", but... I didn't have that gaming umph. I dunno. Weird.

Oh, and Ichigo, that was just a really crappy overlooked bug involving leap years why Zunes crapped out. Annoying, yes, but eh, at least it was just for a day.

That's just SOP for them to design and ship defective crap. Look at every OS since Windows 3.1...

You mean how they've been quite usable and had a library of software far outpacing any competitors? Or, how around XP, it got to be incredibly sturdy to the point where you'd have to actively be TRYING to make it BSoD? Real defective, innit?

Yeah. XP was stable as hell, dude. Especially once you started hitting the Service Packs. Vista is definitely getting there, but that was mostly software/hardware manufacturers not getting up with the program, and Win7 looks to be even better.

Also, my Zune crapped out for a day but you didn't see me crying. As soon as MS let me know about it through their press release, I was like oh, alright. Whatev. Soon as midnight hit that night, sure enough, back to normal. The Zune, with the exception of the Zune store, is actually pretty sturdy as hell and well built. Never had a single problem with the damn thing.

Also, I'm pretty keen with my Innanet speak but what the duck is "SOP"?

My bet is Standard Operating Procedure (that or a piece of bread soaked in a liquid)...

I've been playing through Prince of Persia the most lately. Beautifully detailed and designed... but undeniably bland. Seriously, only a handful of enemies per stage, max??? I like it well enough but still there is so much more that it could have =(

I also played about 3 hrs worth of Fallout 3. I like it. I like the raiding concept, searching for things in burnt out cities, abandoned schools and such. But sadly I just don't have the time for a game that demands so much time to play. I'll consider buying it later, when the price drops but for right now it is out of the question.

Right now I'm just level grinding on Mother 3... I have all my characters at 60... might try to get them to 70... or at least 65. I like easy, non complicated boss fights =D

There is at least one major bug in XP that has NEVER been solved. When trying to delete a folder, you get an error message that says
"Cannot delete/rename file/folder, it is being used by another person or program."

Having another burst of fun with Left 4 Dead now that two of my mates have finally caved in and bought it. Just need to continue my annoying persistance and convince my other friend to get it and then our band of four survivors is complete!

That, or Hiro can join us. Y'know. Crazy Americanoman.

Odd - I've NEVER seen that glitch/bug before...seriously, you're grasping at straws. I deleted TONNES of damn files in my time with XP!

I got the same error every now and then. The best solution for that is simple: close anything in Applications (after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del). If it doesn't work, try closing Explorer.exe (in Processes tab). Best solution though is to simply restart the system.

Also, get any updates. Since I got some, I have to yet encounter this bug.

I hate that sum'bish!

Getting back to the TOPIC... so I've finally finished Crisis Core. And even though anyone who's ever played FF7 knows what happens to the main hero of this side story, the way they set up his final battle and integrating the DMW directly was freakin' TRAGIC. It was worth wading through all the Genesis crap that made up like 80% of the plot. I wasn't too hot on the battle system, either.

So right now I'm actively playing:

PSP - Breath of Fire 3 (hope I don't get bored and stop again)
DS - Final Fantasy IV (finally!... and it's damn good so far, too)
PS2 - .hack//G.U. Vol. 2 (still)

The only folders where that problem was a consistent issue where the Program Files for the crappy Microsoft freeware that is bundled with Windows and irremovable. I will admit that XP was a drastic improvement over the 9x line, though a bit of a step backwards from 2000. My biggest gripes with XP include: poor out-of-the-box hardware support, an insecure default configuration, difficulty of placing 'Documents and Settings' on a seperate partition, and having to do all software installation and upgrades manually. I am quite content living with the Penguin, and I shall not be trying out Vista or Windows 7 within the forseeable future.

As for Windows having a 'library of software far outpacing any competitors', in my experience, the majority of Windows-Exclusive software is either bundled with malware, lacking in functionality, or costing an exorbitant price. Most of the affordable, high-quality, and malware-free software, in my experience, is either a port of software that was originally written for Linux or was always developed as a cross-platform application. One thing that eased my transition from Windows to Linux was the fact that most of the software I was using in Windows was popular, if not standard, on Linux systems.

Still on Star Ocean on PSP, though only grinding right now as I'm nearing the final stretch, it's pretty quick though, when from 50 to 63 in about 3 hours worth of play (over three days), and the battle system is fun enough to actually enjoy fighting enemies. Thinking of getting to 70 or getting my other team up to 60 first.

Also I recently borrowed Saints Row 2 from a good friend, I used to have it, well...my brother did, but he sold it, he got it just before I bought Fable 2 and then he got Gears 2, so no one played SR2 at all. Anyway, I have it again and I'm loving it, it does what GTA used to do but much much better than GTA did it. It's fun, over the top, almost arcade style fun, and a much truer sandbox experience than GTA4 and Fable 2. Up there with Crackdown imo!

Anyway, Street Fighter 4 is just around the corner, really can't wait!

Edit: Oh! I've also been playing through SSBB Subspace Emissary again, as I had to rebuy SSBB due to my old version being imported, and in an act of stupidity I updated my Wii a few weeks ago, thus my Freeloader now being redundant. Oh well, at least it's in colour this time!

Come this Saturday, I'll be doing the same too! I also can't wait, I'm totally PUMPED!!!!!! I downloaded a Genesis rom of Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers yesterday in anticipation for the release of Street Fighter IV and have been playing it non-stop ever since. I haven't played that particular version of Street Fighter II in over 10 years. Last time I did, it was on my Genesis/Mega Drive. LOL

I've mostly just been playing some random games lately. Braid, Ikaruga, Sega Superstars Tennis, NCAA Footbal 09, and Persona 3.
I really can't get back into Persona. Lately I just play it for 20 or 30 minutes and put it up, compared to 1-2 hours in a sitting before. I don't know whats wrong; its just a little less interesting then before.

I also finally got to fixing my broken 360. It works perfect now; really glad I did fix it and not pay $100 to MS so they would.

Just beat Mother 3. Pretty awesome game. Shame that Nintendo will never release it here =(

So now I have FFVI to play through. Burnout Paradise and GTA IV are standing by, ready to be played. I haven't touched Dead Rising since November... Halo 3 since December. I still have Chrono Trigger to play on my DS. I haven't played much of L4D, but the new content should change that. Oh and come Feb 26th, I'll be downloading and finishing Prince of Persia.

Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to play some TF2 and prep for the Scout update

I've been playing Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. It's certainly a rather unique take on the original. Among other things, it now has the ability to reclass your characters. For example, you can reclass demure clerics into bloodthirsty myrmidons (not a good idea BTW). I'm enjoying it nonetheless.

Nintendo, good job. Now I demand you to remake Genealogy of Holy War and bring it over here, now. >:o

I finally got Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. Tons of really good games, and I have no idea where to begin with.
While at GameStop I found a few games I've been wanting to play for a while: Yakuza and Panzer Dragoon Orta.

Yakuza so far is alright. Nothing too exciting so far, but I'm only an hour into it. I'm really hoping for it to pick up, because I was expecting alot from it.

Panzer Dragoon Orta is a completely differant story. Such an amazing game, the ability to morph really adds alot of stratigy to the game, and the story is really good too. I have to say that Orta is my favorite out of the series, I havn't played Zwie though.

=( PoP DLC delayed till next week

That said I have other, none video game things to do the rest of the week, so it isn't that bad.

Just unlocked all the Scout items in TF2. Hurray for personal 'server', bots, and mimic ... although 2004 kills took for freakin' ever. And before I get booed for 'cheating', there is no way I would ever get enough achievements to earn these things. Hell, after playing all summer I had only unlocked the Medic's 2nd gun D:

After having the game for about a month and a half to 2 months, I started playing Mass Effect last night, and even though I only got past Eden Prime, I'm already drawn into the story so it seems like it's gonna be a great game. Course, play time is gonna be cut short when SatBK comes out next week.

Yea dude...Mass Effect is great. My roommate played like...30 minutes of it and had to start over, just so he could see what all he could do different and how he could change the look of his character. Great, great game. As for what i'm playing...you'd think SFIV, but after getting crazy hyped about Virtual On again, I may have to unbox the Dreamcast this weekend.

Well, completed Star Ocean earlier today, been playing since Christmas so took a while. 😛

I'd recommend it to any PSP owner looking for a good JRPG, especially one that's cheap or was never released outside of Japan back on the SNES.

Still playing Saints Row 2 but on a really tricky/annoyingly unfortunate mission against the Brotherhood, the one where you have to fight off waves of Brotherhood on a boat at sea.

May start MGS4 or Lost Odyssey next, or even Valkyria Chronicles.

I go to the DLC section of the main menu, select it and it goes to the "Loading Epilogue" screen and just sits there... I've let it sit for 10+ minutes and it is still the same
