Going old school, given that's all I have access to ;_;
Going through Ecco 1/2 run..... god I forgot how easily those two games can make a person so RAGED (Seriously, I ****ing HATE "Welcome to the Machine", worse thing is its named after an awesome song too ;.
On that note, I've never played Shining Force and I have it on me right now, I think I should go fix that.
Played some scribblenauts. It's control scheme is infuriating =/ Also I know you can't expect the world out of a DS game but the keywords are too specific as well. In one puzzle I had to defend something without killing the things going after it, and after being completely unable to cover, lift or put the object in a box, I just ended up picking it up with the character and running away. Maybe I just wasn't imaginative enough though.
Still, I bet my DS is glad that I've been using it after over a year without use. My Mum's gonna end up claiming it at this rate, she wants that 52 games game thing.
p.s. you can actually create a nuke, but it obliterates everything in the level including the character so bah. Even if you make a fallout shelter it still kills you 🙁
Played some Guns of the Patriots for the heck of it. Haven't played this game in a long while.
Right now. ..... DOTA......You see, DOTA isn't like an FPS, here you don't aim and kill. This game is alll about strategy and making the right items. Ok I guess the words Hero and Item will spark the wrong image in your mind, thanks to hte industry for that.

Finished MGS4 again. Started a new game of Mass Effect for the heck of it as well. Need a new game soon, hopefully.
Final Fantasy X, mainly power leveling...I don't know why since I can beat the Arena bosses, I guess for fun.
Tekken 6: Yes, got it early. Yes had to download like 4 or 5 things but the game is very pretty and fun to play. Just getting play time in because once Ratchet and Clank drops on Tuesday, I will be playing that instead.
So you got T6 early, but you'll be playing R&C once you get that?
Tekken 6 "EARLY?!1!one"
Congrats to you, good sir. =P As for me...KoF '97. Gotta get my Joe Higashi lines down for Halloween next week. "Tiger Kick!"
P.S. Let me know how Lee Chaolan and Yoshimitsu play.
So despite my current disdain/disinterest in Square-Enix, I managed to borrow a copy of FFXII from a co-worker. I admit that I'm surprised on how much I don't hate this game. I don't know if I think it's that good, but so far, I find myself...well...liking it. Oh, the horrors!
It's not the end all of end all but it's a decent game (Albeit one that can make you pull your hair out). Just be prepared to power level or else the game will kick your tail. Oh and be warned about the random chests. That reminds me that I still have to beat Omega Mark Whatever, ugh.
Speaking of games I haven't finished, I really really hate Lunar 2's abundance of foes. It honestly feels like the uber old RPG's where you take a few steps and BOOM, another battle. Story is nice and all but when you have to sludge through hundreds of foes you think you can avoid, only to see that no you can't and the game is just jerking you around, feels a bit dirty.
Well, after beating Metroid Prime Trilogy yesterday, I started playing Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, never did get to far into it, in preparation of Bowser's Inside Story.
Finished up Brutal Legend Friday night... It was funny, so very funny... and it had a great story! ... but dear god, why did they put RTS elements in it? Why ='( ? Totally ruined the flow of the game imo. Also, the secondary missions were extremely repetitive. And they recycled the NPCs speeches way to much... EVERY FREAKING ambush "Who are we after today?" "BAD GUYS, WANNA HELP?" The game wasn't worth the $50 I paid for it. Too many flaws to overlook.
I decide to go back and try Overlord one last time. Finally got the Blues hive, but found the game pretty boring afterwards.
I also tried the new Kingdom Hearts game for the DS.... pretty freaking lost right now. I've never played a KH game before, seeing as I don't own a PS2. Therefore, the story doesn't make any sense. Also waaaaaaay too many tutorials. I KNOW HOW TO WALK AND JUMP, I AM NOT AN IDIOT.
Heaven help you if you decide to play through the series (Go with the first game, CoM I suppose and then the second one) because the story becomes muddled like hell once the second one rolls around.
Just bought Skies of Arcadia for Dreamcast. So far I'm really liking it, but like most rpg's it has started a little slow.
Also still playing Sakura Wars; I'm progressing pretty slowly, but I've really enjoyed it so far.
Haha, wow. I don't ever remember a Ratchet and Clank game throwing this many enemies at me. Sadly the game still isn't very difficult, my only deaths coming from failing a jump (Stupid camera) or blindly running into a crowd and wanting to conserve ammo and wrenching everything to death.
Phew! Blazblue...my gosh. The game...is taking me over yet again. Litchi is beginning to make tons more sense now. Haku-Men's obviously a bamf and Bang is quickly climbing the charts as one of my favorite video game characters ever. Boy...what a wonderfully crafted game.
In honor of All Hollow's Eve I've been playing some Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. I've had a PC version installed on my desktop since God-knows-when and I've been methodically creeping ever closer to 100% completion. Of course, when I'm at work I don't have access to my PC, so good thing I have my PSP and a copy of Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles. It's funny to see some of the minute differences (besides the obvious) between the original and the remake.
Still playing Nazi Zombie mode on CoD WaW. Can just pop this game in and play some rounds with my friends for the heck of it, any day. Need to get live soon and buy the other maps which I've played and are way better and much more added to them.
Hmmm, let's see. I just tried to play GTA:Ballad of Gay Tony... Seemed to start off reaaaally slow. I haven't played a console GTA... hell, Chinatown Wars is actually the only one I've touched. I want to blow stuff up, not play taxi driver.
SouthPark Tower Defense got old pretty quick. I borrowed my buddy's copy of Orange Box, to tide me over/ give me something to do until Assassin's Creed II comes out... but I saw one of my company's stores got Borderlands in ... I've only played 30 min of it, but it is awesome so far . Definitely will be buying this tomorrow.
Did a speed run of Sonic 2 a few hours ago. The gaming club im in is having a retro night tomorrow and i'm the designated Sonic guy...so i'm sure they'll want me to complete Sonic 2 for them so they can see the ending and whatnot. Man...that was alot of fun though. Why ST/SEGA...why have you messed up Sonic? *drops to his knees* WHHHYYYYY!!! ='( *crosses fingers and hopes this new HD Sonic can be atleast...half of what Sonic 2 was*
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. PS2 version. So far, it's a poor man's version of the Jak games in terms of gameplay, story, and graphics, though I'm trying to keep the mindset that the game seemed to have been more intended for the PSP then PS2. I'm still relatively early in the game, so I won't rush into judgment just yet.
The only annoying gripe is the DAMN camera. An issue barely registered in the past Jak games, here, it likes to whipsaw around in impossible angles to make the platforming more frustrating.
Mario Kart 64. It took about 3 races but I was soon back to top form, getting 1st place with ease. Still not sure why people complain about the AI here, claiming they can reduce your hard earned lead in no time...I opened up huge leads where I was at least a half a course a head of the pack and never saw them until the next race. I still like this over any other Mario Kart: SNES version was a bit boring, DD had weapons that were too good (Why would you cause the Blue Shell to cause a mini explosion?) and the Wii version was just more of the same. And Double Dash seemed really bad about screwing over whoever was in 1st.
I'm probably overthinking this...
I also have a copy of Parasite Eve but if Resident Evil 4 taught me anything, it's that I don't have the heart for survival horror (Or anything with horror for that matter). So now I'm not sure what to do with it...*sadface*
Borderlands, Borderlands, Borderlands. Definitely not as good as Fallout 3... that said, it is extremely fun. I honestly just enjoy games that the main goal is to go around and shoot things before they kill you. I wish the game had a better item storage system. Basically you can only carry x items, including guns and meds. There is no home base for you to deposit your items in to keep them safe either =(
That said, I'm enjoying it so far. The difficulty seems appropriate. I only paid $35 for the game, so I definitely can't complain.
Left 4 Dead- downloaded that Crash Course campaign. Was short as noted but really fun. It wasn't much different but just more good ol L4D goodness.
Nazi Zombies- bought the first 2 map packs and just been playing around with these levels. Damn those demon dogs! lol
Also, I just purchased Dragon Age Origins online, so I'll be receiving that in a few days and onward to playing it.

Hahah! Why would a blue shell need to explode? Seriously. lol As for...survival horror...i'm with you there man. lol

So the smug asshole right behind you who thinks he can scoot right past you after it hits you gets his just desserts.

I've genuinely had enough of MW2.
I hate prepubscent boys with shrill voices swearing before the game begins.
I hate the maps.
I hate the new class system. Its stupidly overcomplicated.
I hate the killstreak rewards. They seem overpowered.
I hate the fact that I got this game for free and I still cant enjoy it beyond the OTT story mode.
Toys out of pram.
Yeah, I played MW2 for about 5 hours of campaign and multiplayer (bought it at launch). Both are as frustrated as all heck. The worst part of multiplayer is the fact that I get shot from either behind me or someone in cover that is impossible to see (same with story mode). I liked the new class system though and the killstreak stuff, but I do agree that some of it is really unbalanced. I've never liked the idea of it being set up like an MMO; the need to level up to get the cool stuff is pretty annoying and unfair to people starting out. I must say though, that MW2 is a HUGE improvement over World At War. WaW had the most infuriating multiplayer. I wasn't planning to speak about Modern Warfar 2, because of how upset I am about it but John really got my blood pumping with his post.
I'll just wait for the new Ghost Recon; best multiplayer available. Though it has its share of problems, most of the time everything comes down to pure skill.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
If you have played Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3, and/or Super Mario World, then you will find this game familiar. Whether that is good or bad is up to you. Personally, I like it.
One of the best things about it is the 4 player simultaneous game play. It creates this competitive cooperation play. If one player is annoying you, you can bump them to send them over the edge of a hole or knock them into a Whoomp, or other enemy.
At the same time, you can use the same effects to help each other. That large coin just out of your jump range? Let another player bounce off your head to get that extra height. Still not enough? When that player reaches the peak of their jump, jump up to meet them and let the have another jump. We managed to get a three-character jump boost like that. You could probably hit it with 4, but we did not have a fourth player.
But what about player death? When a player dies, if they have another life left, they come floating back into the level in a bubble. The 'live' players need to pop the bubble to rescue that player. If all players die at the same time, even if they have lives left, they get kicked out of the level. If a player runs out of lives, but at least 1 player has a life left at the end of the level, then they get an auto-continue. If all players run out of lives, then you get sent back to the last save point (usually a castle).
There are, of course, all of the usual power ups: growth mushroom, invincibility star, and fiery flower. But, like most new Mario games, there are a couple new ones.
First is the icy flower. This is pretty much an ice version of the fiery flower, though the effects are not the same. It allows you to freeze most enemies in blocks of ice that you can use as jumping points or as weapons. Just pick up and throw. There are a number of enemies that are not effected, though, so be warned.
Second is the penguin suit. At first glance, this is basically just the same as the icy flower. However, it comes with a couple extra abilities. When in water, the penguin suit allows you perfect control over your character, rather than just the usual jump/swim effect. It also allows a running slide that allows you to knock off enemies.
Third is the propeller hat. It basically just gives you a higher jump ability which, while useful, is pretty bland (but still some how fun) compared to the others.
The last new one (at least that I have found so far) is the mini-mushroom. This one shrinks your character down to the point it almost seems useless. You have to use the ground pound to kill enemies. It turns out, though, that it is not useless. You become light enough that you can run on water, float farther than normal jumping distance, and enter miniature pipes that lead to secret areas.
I can keep going, but I am just going to say this: If you have a Wii and like the classic Super Mario games, you will love this one.
i've been watching will play Phantasy Star Zero, and it looks quite fun. ^^ limited looks and hair in the character selection, but the flighting style brings back some things i remember from PSO and adds a few extras like a dodge roll.
amazed there's no topic on this game in any of the forums. ;-; i may have to make one!
We have one in the South Island. I'm not sure why no one bothered to update it after the release. I don't have the money for Phantasy Star Zero, but if I did, I sure as heck would buy it. Looks really fun.

Yea i've heard nothing but great things about this game. I am really, really interested, possibly a Christmas gift or something. I'm going to a club game night Friday and they'll have it there, i'm definitely going to try it out. Pretty excited.
Dragon Age Origins on PC.
I love it.

i think you still have time to enter the competition for a copy of the game, the PSO-World forums was running one. (or was it the official forums?) but it finishes on the 20th or 30th.
Soul Calibur IV on PS3
Dragon Age Origins.
I love it.
You and me both. This game is just tons of awesome.
Midnight Club LA. Finally beat it. But I bought TMNT Turtles in Time Reshelled, tonight. Ahhh...how I love the turtles. I definitely want the original though...come on Konami. 😛
the new sonic the hedgehog .... i know it's been out for some time but i couldn't afford it before but i gotta say this game kicks a** wait, children might be reading... i'll just say it's awsome
Sonic Unleashed, sonicfans? Awesome...good to know people are enjoying it...somewhat. As for me though...ive been on a total PS3 frenzy. MC:LA, SFIV, Armored Core 4, TMNT Reshelled, Bayonetta Demo...and some Capcom vs. SNK 2. Super Street Fighter IV has got me killer excited and surprisingly i'm doing quite well using the DS3 controller. Akuma...is king.
no no i mean sonic the hedgehog for the Xbox...... it's so confussing there's two "sonic the hedgehog" games now. the old first 1991 and the new one ... darn sonic team, couldn't they have giving it a better name?

Ohh...by new you mean the one that came out in 2006[for 360, btw]. Yea...I hear that thing is an abomination. If you're enjoying it...im not sure for how much longer. 😛
Like "Don't Play This". Would've saved us the trouble and would still have made plenty of money from reverse psychology.
Hahah yea, you're right. So is that the new name...instead of Sonic '06...we'll just call it DPT, from now onward. 😛
Like "Don't Play This". Would've saved us the trouble and would still have made plenty of money from reverse psychology.
NO WAY! you didn't like it?
i'm shocked it was as cool as sonic Adventure.... it's really my favorite game, most fun i had in years.
and thanks hypersonic, i will start calling it Sonic 06. it's easier that way.
Just finished Sakura Wars today. Must say, that it is one of my favorites. If anyone has a small inkling to play SW then you should just do it. I used a fan translation and it wasn't half bad. Right now I'm looking for the sequel, not too much luck though.
Other then that I've played the Bayonetta demo again... for at least the 15th time.
Squeezing little bits of Assassins Creed 2 in here and there, between work and feeling sick.
Also been going back to Sonic Rush to try and beat some of my old times.
NO WAY! you didn't like it?
i'm shocked it was as cool as sonic Adventure.... it's really my favorite game, most fun i had in years.
Heheh. *rubs back of head* You're in a bit of a minority there, pal. A lot of people don't like it. The overinflated plot, the hot Princess-on-dead-animal action, and the often downright broken controls turned people off of it. There's plenty who do like it though, and you're entitled to your opinion. I personally found the plot kind of interesting, and Mephiles was awesome. Dan Green FTW.
EDIT: OMG WTF OT DISCUSSION
I browsed the Wii Store last night and found a few pleasant surprises. I bought the internet browser for 500p last year, but now Ninty offers it for free, so they gave me a free NES game. I got Zelda II, because I'd never played it and I'd heard it was pretty good, black sheep status aside. Nerd Rush! @ all the continuity gags they mined out it it for the other games. Rauru Villiage, anyone?
I also grabbed a handful of free demos of WiiWare titles (I know, I'm a freeloader). I got World of Goo, Pokemon Rumble, and Bit.Trip Beat. World of Goo is a nice diversion but I didn't have the patience to figure out the physics last night, so I gave up and moved on to...
Pokemon Rumble, which was a real shock to my nostalgia center. The oldschool cries! The attack graphics! Eeep! *glomp to death*
I'd say the highlight was Bit.Trip Beat. It's basically Pong, except, instead of one ball and an opposing paddle, you are challenged by a swarm of rhythmic balls flying toward your end of the screen in increasingly complex patterns. It's a rhythm game, like Rhythm Heaven or EBA, which means it's easier to anticipate the balls if you get into the beat. If you hit successive balls without missing, the music and visuals get more complex, but I especially love what happens if you've been goofing up. The TV goes silent and the visuals go Old School Atari, while Old School sound effects play out of the remote until you get back. Lots of fun.
Also, I dusted off my Tales of Monkey Island: Episode 1 I bought months ago but never played. I had some fun, solved some puzzles. lol @ "I doubt they'll be impressed by my U Tube offering."

Oh, yes, God forbid that somebody could actually like the whole game of 06! Sonicfan, I welcome a fellow fan that finds fun in a supposedly "bad" game!
Dragon Age, about 11 hours in. Haven't had too much time to play but try to get as much as I can when I get the chance.
While I continuously wait for Silent Hill to come out (now delayed until 2010 =/) I am replaying Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, a game I am so addicted to that my wife banned me for a while. She's eased up, but I only play when she's not home.
Right now I'm on Mission 3-4, Soren has maxed out 4 of his stats already and Haar is third tier. I feel I may be breaking the game with my awesome. I am also attempting to make Mist a viable unit for reasons I do not understand.
Envy to all playing NSMB:W I want that game, so much.
