I wonder why that is? Pretty much every review or comment I've read about it has been good, so it seems kind of odd that it's done so poorly. Even GameSpot made some comment about it doing a lot worse than it should have.

It had a deadly combination of poor advertisment, wrong console to debut where platformers traditionally did poorly, and mainstream gamers fear of new and unknown IP(unless it has tons of violence inspired by GTA/DMC and/or it is a FPS lolz!!).

And Rayzor I think they were refering to how MS would work on emulation software that is downloaded via Live for non-BC Xbox games to run on X360. I doubt that they would bother fixing that up with a game that bombed as horribly as Psychonauts. =(

Ahh, another reason to choose the PS3 and Rev over the 360.(uh, PS3 will have full backward compatablity with PS and PS2 games right?)

PS2 can't even claim to have full compatibility with all PS1 games, so I doubt PS3 will manage it.

What:eek I didn't know the PS2 didn't have complete backwards compatibility! Well, I hope the Rev has full backwards compatibility with Cube games like I think it does!

Yep. I think there are some others but the most notable was Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions.

Also the Japanese Satin Silver Slimline PS2 doesn't play Tekken 5 and Resident Evil 4 among others.

Ready...1...2...3... LOL!

Still playing through Battalion Wars, which is immensly fun, and challenging. Also, I brought the GTA trilogy for the Xbox, so I'm playing that from time to time.

Just finished Mario Sunshine. Haven't finished cringing yet. I am thoroughly disgusted. I wasn't expecting this game to be as good as Mario 64, but this wasn't even close. There were a few fun parts here and there, but the majority was incredibly tedious and/or boring. Not to mention other annoying things, like the aggrivating camera (which to be fair, Mario 64 had as well, but you'd think they could've improved that in six years) and the painfully bad storyline and voice acting. (WORST. BOWSER VOICE. EVER.) I don't expect to be playing this one again any time soon. I only have 73 shines currently, but I don't have even the slightest interest in trying to get any more. GameSpot's review worded it quite well when they said "...too many of the game's goals are the sort that make you think, "Well, at least I'll never have to do that again," immediately after completing them." That's exactly how I feel about the game right now.

So. I'm off to play through Mario 64 again, to remind myself what an enjoyable 3D Mario game is like. :D

I need to hurry up and order Psychonauts, as Mario Sunshine didn't satisfy my craving for an enjoyable new platformer...

Yep. SMS is an excercise in mediocrity and it was the first Mario platformer game I didn't care to finish. I just got distracted with better games.:lol I can't help feeling that the backpack idea could have been used with an original IP with a different goal set than Mario though I have a feeling that even if that game turned out better than Sunshine it wouldn't have sold as much since it lacked the Mario name. *shrugs* Still, if I was forced to either play SMS or SA2 I would haved picked the former.

And Super Mario Sunshine's camera is a godsend compared to SA2's and Kingdom Heart's cameras.

Now I'm playing Aria of Sorrow courtesy of the Castlevania Double Pack since I missed getting both that and Harmony of Dissonance. I heard Aria was better than Dawn.

There were multiple times where I considered that as well, but as annoying as this was, I generally can't stand it to not complete the storyline so I can say I've finished it at least once.

Yipes, I do believe I shall stay far away from those two, then... :| (SA2 was the only one I'd slightly considered anyway)

Oh I dont know about that really. SA2's camera was bad but if you went in the direction it wanted to go in it worked but SMS was just I am going to go in the place you put me. and not really move. The amount of Dead Italian Plumbers floating around in the hidden worlds would be uncountable. Dont get me SMS > SA2 but still...

Any way I am playing Ratchet and Clank 3. Probably the most fun game I have played since R+C1. But there was a section: Find 100 Sewer Crystals. Oh My God! But some of my weapons are now level 5 because of it :D. Might play some Soul Calibur 3 laters.

Wrong! It kept going in the direction towards the goal. I lost many lves trying to obtain a special item that wasn't on the linear path of the level.

I just purchased Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney(it was the last copy at my local Gamestop and it only costed me $27 when this rare gem goes for $50+ on Ebay) so I'm going to give that a spin to see what's all the fuss is about. :]

I was playing X6 on the Mega Man X Collection. Doing so has reminded me of how horrible that game is. So I'm taking a break from the collection, and am now playing X8 for a while.

I've been playing Ultimate Spider-Man last night and today and may play it some more before I switch back to Shadow which I plan to play most of the time until Sonic Riders comes out or I beat all stories/Final Story in Shadow which ever comes first.

Alternating between X4 (as Zero) and X8. It's definitely been too long since I've played X8, because I seem to have lost what ability I may have had. Last time I played it through I was able to breeze through it almost as easily as X4, but right now I'm doing rather pathetically. 'tis a wee bit embarrassing. :|

I'll probably continue to play X8 mostly, but I'm also strangely thinking of messing with X7 a little just because I can't remember when I did last. I expect my memory of why I hated it (besides the horrible voice acting) will be refreshed fairly quickly, as it was with X6.

Bought Sonic Gems and Lost Kingdoms II last week, I've been playing Lost Kingdoms II the most, as I loved the original. It's a shame it's so short compared to the original, as it's taken me only 10 hours to complete the story, but getting all the cards is a different story. Oh well, not bad for 10.

And of course, I can't resist the odd game of Sonic R on Gems.

Get We (Heart) Katamari.

We (Heart) Katamari

We (Heart) Katamari

Especially if it is your first Katamari game. I 100% approve of this game.

Gyser.
Tesco Sega Classics Collection + any other game (which could include Lego Star Wars) 20 for both.

I'm saving up for Shadow of the Collosus and Ico (re-release) and any money left over for We Love Katamari.

Then Sonic Riders. Then that should be it until Mortal Kombat Armageddon.

Once again I'm up to something that will take a good portion out of my life! Right now I'm trying to max out my lives and my score in Super Mario Bros. 3 for the GBA. I'm only using Luigi as well, I killed Mario a long time ago!

Alternating between Mega Man X8 and Madden NFL 2005.

...for the original PlayStation.

yes, I'm in a strange mood. :D Looks a better than usualy when emulated on the PC though, and plays great with an Xbox 360 controller. Kind of weird, the PS2 controller used to be my all time favorite gamepad, but since I've gotten used to the analog stick positioning on the 360 and GameCube controllers, I'm finding the PS2's stick layout to be a little uncomfortable. Never thought that would happen...

As for X8, I've been uh... "testing" the PC version... (if they'd release it over here, I'd buy it in a second!!) Seems like a pretty much perfect port of the PS2 version, and I love being able to play it with that 360 controller (which I probably ramble about too much, heh). I don't see why they haven't released it over here. The Japanese PC version (Rockman X8 ) turns into Mega Man X8 (complete with English text, voices, videos, titles, everything) when you select English during the install, so it seems like it'd be easy money considering most of the work is already done. Wish they would, I'd gladly buy it even though I already own the PS2 version.

Been playing X8 pretty much nonstop. I had forgotten just how much I like this game. :D Ended up getting everything 100% complete on the PC version, so I've now gone back to do the same on the PS2 version (which I'd never gotten around to previously). Almost finished with that, just a couple more things to do to get the game saves I want.

After that, it's off to Madden 06 for GameCube. Finally got around to buying a bigger memory card than that puny 251 block thing, so I have more than enough space for a franchise game save now.

Right now, I've been busy playing Sonic Rush which surprisingly has been so far the most enjoyable Sonic title I've played since Sonic Adventure--though the level design needs a little bit more tweeking though.

Plus, recieved Ossu! Tatakae! Ouedan! which I have imported after hearing excellent reviews and I will be playing that this weekend also.
