Yea man...Bayo is pretty out there. Believe it or not...it all comes together in the end. Almost too abruptly though. lol
i'm playing a free mmorpg called "perfect world" its sooooooooooooo mega fun XD its very colorful and i get to play as a mermaid like human.
96% done with single player for Red Dead Redemption. Just need to do 2 stranger missions that I finally found and become a master hunter, then do finish the rest of the mini game / bounty locations and I should be good.
Made it to Chapter 4 of Layton today. It is pretty awesome so far.
Dying to a random battle (Okay not random, it was an enemy on screen) on the way to the FIRST dungeon in Dragon Quest 8. I had a good feeling that challenging it was a mistake but oh well.
I had a zombie craving, so I threw Dead Rising back in for a bit and slaughtered some undead. I'll probably play it a bit more before deciding which of my pile-o-crap.
Dead Rising 2. Insanely fun. It's been improved upon from the first game in so many ways; combo weapons are hilarious, survivor AI is a lot better and the story seems pretty interesting so far. I also like how you have a lot more time to do each of the survivor missions than you did in the first; I've been able to complete the Case Files and Survivor Missions together without compromising one or the other. My only problem with it so far is that the loading times are a bit long and I don't like the slight lag there is between pressing a button and having Chuck attack.
But hell, it's Dead Rising! Chainsaw paddles! Killing zombies has never been so much fun before! =D
My bro got me Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for my birthday. Geez, 33 MB minimum. I actually deleted my unimportant data before realizing my card only held 32 MB anyway. One trip to Gamestop later... I'm liking it so far. WAY better than Portable Ops, which I think I can legally declare a clusterf___. I was worried it would play like it, but every flaw in that game was corrected. No more stupid uniforms that only worked on people of the same character model as you, meaning your disguise was worthless if 2 types of enemies patrolled the same area because no matter who you were, somebody would freak out when they saw you. No more worrying about enemies hearing you without seeing you, thus becoming suspicious and sounding the alarm if they see you even though you're in disguise or risk sneaking because they'll freak if they see you do that... No more only having FOUR inventory slots that forces you to travel lightly, thus ensuring you'll be ill-prepared for the inevitable boss you'll eventually encounter. No more only having action during boss fights (which aren't many) unless you blow stealth at some point.
I'm having to get used to not being able to move or shoot while prone. Why this was removed I don't know. I now see where the complaints about grinding come from. I just got to Pupa, and got my ass kicked. Looks like I'll be doing some grinding to get better stuff. However, I'm not sure mechanics of this boss fight are spot on... I watched a video of someone beating Pupa and tried to repeat it to no success. Sometimes when I shot the boss with my RPG, it didn't seem to do any damage (the bar didn't go down), and there doesn't seem to be any reason why.
The whole Heroism thing is also an interesting take. I play these games like Rambo. I'll go out of my way to kill people. Even if it's easier to just sneak past. If my gun isn't silenced, I'll tranq everybody in the area, then execute them in their sleep. I do try to maintain stealth, but if I get spotted, that just means I get to let 'em have it. I'd never consider playing a no-kill run unless there was a good reason. Well, now I have a good reason. Thankfully, it looks like I can just replay the missions as if I started a new game, meaning I can just go through the missions and rack up a huge bodycount the next time I want to play.
For all your lightgun shooting needs and some other insanity too.
I picked up Brutal Legend, to go ahead and finish it. It's been a while, so I'm stale to the controls, but I honestly forgot how funny it was.
Picked up Megaman 2 and Kid Icarus for Wii Virtual Console. Megaman is a blast, but Icarus... isn't fun.
I bought Skate 3 and Sonic&Sega All Stars Racing yesterday. Both are great, but I missed the Skate franchise alot, haha. Now I'm just saving up for Splinter Cell: Conviction.
I just 'beat' PW (credits rolled but there seems to be a couple story missions left) so I guess I can go more indepth now. I actually beat Pupa like an hour after posting, and after only doing enough grinding for an RPG (explosive ordinance, not video game KTHXBYE). It turns out that the boss health bars deplete by blocks (and there's 5 of them), not continuously, which led me to believe I wasn't doing any damage. Great idea guys. I didn't have to do any grinding for the rest of the game, so apparently the game wasn't as hard as I heard. However, the boss battles are definitely rough if you're going it alone (and I speak from experience) as you can't carry enough ammo to destroy a boss, so you get to radio in for additional ammo. Like, 7 times. I don't like that way of doing it. Peace Walker itself took me approximately 41 minutes to destroy. Yes, FORTY-ONE MINUTES of running around and dodging attacks while shooting the boss with 2 different rocket launchers and a machinegun. Absolute war of attrition. That seems a tad excessive to me. Hopefully on my next run-through, I'll have more powerful stuff that will cut it down to something more manageable, like perhaps 15?
The generic soldiers are freaking blind. And stupid. Reenactment of the part where you gotta take out the guys guarding the train:
Me: 6 guys clustered together... Ah screw it, let's nade them.
Throws a grenade, way too hard. It flies over their head and explodes behind them. Everybody freezes in place and cowers.
Soldier: "DID YOU HEAR THAT?"
Throws another grenade. This time it lands in the group and kills at least 3 of them.
Soldier: "DID YOU HEAR THAT?"
Another grenade. 2 more dead guys.
Soldier: "DID YOU HEAR THAT?"
STILL standing there. Side note: everyone else is dead, so who's he talking to? At this point, I switched to my M16 and just gunned him down.
Also, I hate how Snake just climbs things without any button prompting, although I guess this is due to a lack of buttons on the PSP (since they had to account for one less joystick.) I'm trying to sneak behind a box and suddenly Snake jumps on top of it, right in plain view of all the guards in the area. YOU MORON, GO AROUND THE BOX, NOT OVER IT! Amazingly, this hasn't screwed me yet, thanks to the guards being legally blind and all.
All in all though, it's a great game and would stand up alongside its console brothers. Unlike Portable Ops...
For all your lightgun shooting needs and some other insanity too.
All this KH talk has me all interested in replaying the first one...again. May have to give this a go on Proud Difficulty because I have Guard and Dodge Roll on point and it makes the game trivial. Well except for Sephy...he still owns me.
I can't believe I'm replaying Pokemon Platinum...again. Just after I played through it again, beat the Elite Four and had done most of the postgame content outside of Stark Mountain and taking the improved Elite Four. I guess I'm still annoyed that Cynthia still proves to be a tough boss and my ego will not allow any boss to show me up. May not have to powerlevel so much as my four Pokemon are either at level 50 or above (Diddy aka Infernape, Puff aka Garchomp and Sue aka Gardevoir) and only Craig (Gyrados) is two levels away.
I've forgotten what nicknames I picked out for my party in Soul Silver. Will the system let me name Hounchkrow, Pimpfeather? Must check!
Yeah, I agree with all your sentiments on Peace Walker. I thought the enemy AI was absolutely atrocious and way too easy; the game was way too simple to just be able to go around, headshot them with tranquilisers and remove them with fulton that there was no challenge whatsoever.
And the bosses were irritating as well in the respect that you'd never have enough ammo without calling in for more until you got more powerful weaponry. I also hated how there were no unique human bosses with interesting gameplay elements in order to defeat them... seriously, where was a boss battle as interesting as Psycho Mantis or The End?
That said I loved the story, the music, the atmosphere and pretty much everything else about it but the human enemies were too easy and boss battles too time consuming and... well, boring.
As for me I'm still playing through Dead Rising 2. I've already completed it and got the true ending, but I'm addicted. =D I'm going through it again after playing Case Zero once more to try and rescue every survivor in the game, get to level 50 and try to get some other miscellaneous achievements in the process. At the same time I'm still working through Metroid Prime 3: Corruption which is a solid game so far.
Just beat Layton 3. Twas awesome, although I find myself very willing to cheat on the puzzles to get through the game... Honestly I play it primarily for the stories. Can't wait for the next one to come out.
I've also been working my way through Plants Vs Zombies on the 360. Couldn't say no to it and achievements for $10. I just need to convince my buddy he has to play it as well.
I've also been working through Reach with a couple buddies on Legendary... oh and the Jet Pack addition to multi is like the best thing ever

I only cheat on the puzzles I know I can't do, so that's about all the evil, eviiiiiiiiiil math problems.
That said, I loved the storyline of the third Layton. I was almost ready to dismiss it in front of the very strong second game's tale because there were some iffy stuff I didn't care during the second half of Unwound Future. Then BAM! they pulled that plot twist on me that lead to that ending which I thought, from an emotional point of view, was absolutely fantastic. It pretty much just jumped to mt favorite of the trilogy.
Also, I got Shantae: Risky's Revenge.
Anyone pick up NBA JAM yet? As for me...nothing really. I suppose tonight at fight night i'll mostly be on SSFIV. ^_^
Also, I got Shantae: Risky's Revenge.
FFFFFFFFF--!!
Anyhoo, just got Castlevania: Lords in Shadow in the mail. So I guess I'll be playing that for the next few days.
Sonic Adventure. On my PS3. :3
Just finished Enslaved: Oddysey to the West. Utterly amazing game, I loved every single aspect of it. Graphics were amazing, art design was beautiful and the whole thing felt incredibly epic. There were a few annoying glitches but overall it was an amazingly solid game. Plus Trip is beautiful! <3 I strongly, STRONGLY urge people to check it out, it's a gem of a game that doesn't seem to be getting anywhere near the attention it deserves.
Next up on my list is Castlevania: Lords of Shadows. I've played a couple of Castlevania games before but I'm not a massive follower of the series so I've got no real expectations for what it might be like, other than hopefully good. =D Meanwhile I'm still slowly but surely playing through Final Fantasy 9 and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Putting Birth by Sleep aside, though there's so much stuff going on I've mostly been on the net anyway, I've been playing Sonic 4. Having great fun, though I've only beat Splash Hill and have 3 Emeralds.
I've been replaying the Metroid Prime series... I want a 100% ending on Corruption but I can't find those last few upgrades. >_<
They don't seem to be on any of the maps...
Beat the singleplayer of Red Dead a 100 percent and downloaded the hunters and whatever pack. now waiting for the undead nightmare pack. also playing assassin's creed 2.
I finally got around to picking up a copy of CoD: World at War. I haven't touched the single player yet, but some friends and I have done some of the split-screen.
I played Sonic Classic Collection for about an hour before binning it.
Just fininshed playing 358/2 per my trade. Now as that trade involved me giving my PSP (with BbS) to Tricia's family, so I'm stuck without the ability to finish Crisis Core or start up Lunar Silver Star and my "I finished NaNoWriMo" present of Peace Walker.
Therefore I'm probably going to download Sonic 4 tomorrow.
I must really really suck at Zelda games because I'm constantly getting stuck on these last few dungeons in Oracle of Seasons and constantly consulting a walkthrough to figure out yet another puzzle. The boss of the fifth dungeon is really a pain, I lucked out a bit by trapping him in a corner and whacking him a bunch with the spiked ball.
Blazblue Continuum Shift, Sonic 4 and SSFIV. Hope to pick up NBA JAM soon.
Etrian Odyssey III, Alpha Protocol and, Halo Reach
Just finished beating Reach's Legendary with my two buddies. HOLY CRAP THERE ARE SO MANY CHEAP KILLS/ COMPUTER SENSING WHERE YOU WILL BE IN 5 SECONDS. Glad I finished it when I did though, as my collector's edition of New Vegas will be in on Tuesday .
I'll also end up grabbing the new Kirby in the next week or so, although I don't know when I'll have time to play it.
Enter Super Sonic. I'm having a blast with Sonic 4. ^_^
Played some Halo: Reach split-screen with some friends. Since we typically play stuff like CoD, this game was a pretty heavy change of pace for us. Still, it was fun enough we'll probably do it again next week.
Rocking Pokemon Ranger III. Not liking this "Need to play with friends" crap -.-. I run SOLO!
S4 and NBA Jam to come soon.
Rocking Pokemon Ranger III. Not liking this "Need to play with friends" crap -.-. I run SOLO!
Oh well, I guess its time for the concluding chapter of the Stickghost B____es About Peace Walker trilogy. I've been playing the hell out of the game beating all the Extra Ops. I can't say it's been a load of fun. There are way too many boss fights (I think 40?) to complete. There's just one word to describe it:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
Seriously, the vast majority of those fights are some version of APC, tank, or helicopter. I already spoke of the annoying boss fights that you have to radio repeatedly for extra ammo. But at least the story fights weren't too hard (although it can't be good design when I can dodge every attack with ease while pounding the boss at its weak point and it still takes 10 minutes for it to die.) However, these Extra Ops are RIDICULOUS. Emphasis on the 'dick'. The fights suck dick, the bosses are major dickheads, and you get totally dicked over.
They take a ton of firepower to beat, they do ass-tons of damage per hit (half your life is about average), and nearly every boss is accompanied by a mob of 30-40 soldiers/velociraptors. The soldiers are the worst. Although they only come 4 at a time, they will come as fast as they are killed off. They can appear anywhere (nothing like having one spawn right behind you.) On later stages, they carry RPG's. Yes, RPG's. No seriously, RPG's. Every single goddamned one. And they care not a whit if they kill themselves in the blast. Once they get on your case, all notion of strategy just goes right out the window; the only way to survive is to just run around shooting and hope for the best. I finally beat them by using a sniper rifle to headshot them and a box to hide in when they discovered where the bullets came from. It took like 30 minutes this way. Kinda cheesy, but if the game doesn't play fair, then why should I?
Peace Walker Custom nearly made me chuck my PSP against the wall. I spent at least 30 minutes fighting it, and I was doing very well: I had it down to 2 bars and I even had 4 Level 5 Rations to keep me safe. Suddenly, the boss did a slam attack... and I was dead. One attack... 4 Rations... ARE YOU F___ING KIDDING ME!?! I can't believe that a single attack could just do that. I can only conjecture an alternate theory that I somehow managed to occupy the epicenter of 3 separate attacks that all struck at the same time, but I'm fairly certain the boss can only do one at a time. I don't know what happened, but the boss managed to deplete my lifebar 5 times in less than a second. Amazingly, I kept from unleashing a torrent of vulgarities (aloud) and merely slammed my fist into the sofa really hard. I guess it had to do with the fact that my mom was barely a room away. Not that I'd get in trouble; she just doesn't appreciate such language. That's restraint for you. I'm actually amazed at myself.
I had thought that that was the biggest bulls___ I had ever seen, but that was because I obviously hadn't tried fighting Gear REX on MSF. TOTALLY F____ING IMPOSSIBLE. His attacks are practically impossible to dodge, he can empty your lifebar in one hit, and he's also a very cheap bastard (so are all the other monsters, but he takes it to a whole new level.) When he charges, he almost always stops right on top of you, so you get hit as soon as you get back up. Yeah, that's really fair. He can also randomly knock you out when you get hit, because you know, the odds just weren't already so stacked against you that you might as well be playing chess against an army composed entirely of queens. Apparently, you can trigger missile attacks, but I don't know how since you have to get against cover. WHAT COVER!?! There's a wall running along a side of the arena, but that:
A: Isn't "cover"
B: Doesn't let you see the boss so you can target it
After several attempts resulting in swift annihilation, I decided to consult the FAQ's for help. I found NOTHING, save for "use the Bandanna and spam M47 rockets." Yeah. Thanks guys, I would never have thought cheating (well, it basically is) was a viable strategy. I saw a couple Youtube videos of this feat, although they were still getting jacked up by its attacks. This leads me to believe that there is NO strategy for this boss and you just have to hope for the best. Maybe I'll have to hook up with 3 strangers (preferably decked out with weapons) to finally beat this goddamn boss. All in all, these fights are very poorly conceived and just plain NO FUN. I just find it perplexing that such a great game can be marred by such abysmal decisions. It's true: even geniuses have stupid ideas from time to time. Didn't anybody ATTEMPT to beat this by themself? And didn't think "Hey, this is totally impossible."?
I'll stop here. My eyeballs would fall out of my head if I wasn't wearing glasses.
For all your lightgun shooting needs and some other insanity too.
Just beat Assassin's Creed 2, also playing Dragon Age Awakening, while still on Red Dead multiplayer and soon to be Undead Nightmare pack. Plus I'll be playing Fable 2 after I get done with Dragon Age. lol lots of gaming going on with me right now but such a blast.
Playing through Oracle of Ages. Maybe it's just me but I had a much tougher time with Oracle of Seasons and pretty much gave up at the last dungeon because it was becoming too grating; boss fights tough, dungeons full of annoying traps that sap your hearts, potions being hard to come by, rupees a bit tough to find and making it harder to buy potions etc etc...
However Ages seems like the far more interesting game...and also much easier. Except for the first puzzle in the second dungeon, everything else has been pretty easy to figure out and the bosses tend to be much easier. It seems I almost always have a Potion on hand (Nab one from Maple) and usually get through the entire dungeon up to the main boss with most of my health intact. If I'm reckless, I'll burn that Potion but otherwise I finish off the boss with low health but the Potion still in my possession. And even if I burn it off, I somehow get another one immediately. Ralph is kinda annoying though.
Just played like...5 hours of Street Fighter III Third Strike. Man oh man...can not wait for the re-release.
3 days later... (Rereads previous post.) Man I was pissed. My diagnosis still stands though. Anyway, I'm done with Peace Walker for now. I've had enough! I bought Sonic Chronicles a while back, so now I'm playing that.
Damn, I need to get a stylus. You can't do nothing without tapping the screen. I wasn't about to run to Gamestop right there and then, so I just went ghetto and used a toothpick. Didn't play too long, only until reaching Tails' workshop.
FIGHT! That Swatbot looks dangerous. Sonic-Whirlwind them all! Then, hit the Swatbot! Amy-Low Blow the Swatbot! Then, hit the Swatbot! Tails-uh, hit the Swatbot! 1st attack: Sonic-good! 2nd attack: Amy-oh crap, I forgot there's a stylus prompt... wank damage. 3rd attack: Swatbot-Crusher. S___! Another stylus prompt I'm totally unprepared for and fail miserably. Tails is knocked out.
Me: OH YOU ASSHOLE!
I don't remember what all happened next because I was stewing over the atrocious act that just happened. However, after the whole round of attacks, Sonic was almost gone too.
Me: Man, I'm getting my ass kicked... Well, I saved 2 minutes ago...
Turns game off and takes a break. Looks interesting so far.
For all your lightgun shooting needs and some other insanity too.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 - I thought highly of this at first, but then it just ended up having an uncreative score-- an recycled and unoriginal level design, recycled boss design with tweaks and generally nothing to keep me thinking it of on par with any of the big four Sonic games (CD, 1, 2, 3&K). I was highly disappointed and while it is fun, it loses my interest quickly. Maybe we should stick to some fangames over this one.
Halo: Reach - just ranking up in multiplayer and playing campaign on legendary, nothing really noteworthy to state. Just enjoying the simplicity of it all.
Gothic 4: Arcania - beat this in like 18 hours on my first run, fun game with some recycling issues but they hide them well. Standard fantasy revenge plot with some tweaks, but I had loads of fun and I'll be going through a second run sometime soon. For most folks I'd at least say rent this one, you'll have a fun run with it.
Also, awaiting eagerly for Fable III and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
Playing Undead Nightmare for RDR. Is so much fun Can't wait to play online part after I beat the singleplayer.
Super Meat Boy - Awesome and frustrating
Halo Reach and ODST - Reach is pretty damn brilliant and just finishing up ODST on Legendary.
Sonic 4 - Possibly the worst 2D Sonic ever. Well done Dimps!
Fable 3 - Its ok. Dumbed down Fable 2 so far really.
Legend of Legaia. Started two weeks ago, finished it yesterday. Gameplay still holds up well, nothing quite as satisfying as seeing and hearing your attack combo take out an enemy. Shame the PS2 sequel was so terribad. And with Contrail/Prokion being no more, I realize there will never be another jRPG quite like it. 🙁
Now I'm replaying Chrono Cross, despite having several PS360 games that I've purchases in recent weeks that I've yet to finish. :
Just finished the main story of Fable 3. Genuinely shocked how short it is.
Just finished Final Fantasy 9 after taking absolutely ages to play it. My god what a satisfying end (other than the final boss having a stupid attack that managed to cast Death on my entire party and knocking me out in one move. Seriously, wtf?). Definitely my favourite Final Fantasy with FF4 in at a close second. Marvelous game, I'd love to a CGI pixar/dreamworks movie adaptation of it as I think the style of the game would lend itself well to it. The style and atmosphere of 9 is what all of the Final Fantasy's should be like, instead of this boring bishounen hero look we've got in so many of the installments.
Fable 3 - Its ok. Dumbed down Fable 2 so far really.
Sounds like video games in general, now a days.
I lost my PSP a few years back and I recently thought to get a new one. I decided to get one that you won't see a normal teenager walking around with in the US; so I went out of my way to get a Japanese Mint Green PSP. It came with a good amount of games; here are a few that I've been playing. Luckily the games are US so I can properly play them.
Lunar: What a great RPG so far, I really like the characters and setting. Definitely a game I would recommend.
Valkyrie Profile- Another really cool RPG; I'm not too far, but I really like the setting and combat.
Prinny- It's almost to the point of being too hard where it's not fun, but I am enjoying it.
I'm looking into buying K-ON and Persona soon; hoping both will be good choices.
My brother also bought Halo Reach, so I'll be playing that too.
I've been playing Fallout New Vegas since it's release, but I've put it on hold for the time being. Started over on hardcore because... why not? I did use the infinite Vikki and Vance casino chips, so I've got all the money I could ever need.
Instead of New Vegas, I picked up Fable 3. It's pretty fun so far. Nothing spectacular though. Definitely not fond of the new expressions menu, really seems to slow the game way down. I might pick up NBA Jam or Assassins Creed next week, haven't decided yet.
I decided to throw in WWE Legends of Wrestlemania. It's been in my 'pile-o-crap' to play for a while now. I picked it up when a store near me was going out of business and essentially got it for free. I *just* got around to playing it, though, and I'm glad that I didn't pay full price for it. There are some parts of it that I like, but a lot I don't. So far, I've played 4 sessions on it, 5 if you count the time I spent in the 'create-a-wrestler' system, and I've all but completely beaten the game. I only have 1 more 'Legend Killer' deal to go through, and some of the ones where you're supposed to recreate 'historic matches'. And I doubt I'll do those.
Playing Kirby Super Star and doing my best to complete the two games I never finished, Great Cave Offensive and the Arena. Gotten most of the treasures in the Cave but still have some that have proven elusive, usually because I lack the right abilities to get past some obstacles. In the Arena, I pretty much had it beat. Almost actually but I lost to Marx when I had him to under an eighth of his life left. Sooo close. I'm too saddened to go back and do it again, maybe later...
Decided to pick up my Super Mario World game again for the SNES.
Whoa! Every level is a total Nostalgia Rush!
This is the first game I ever owned and was when I was 4.
