Can't you just trade off GTS?

Or ask me or HSW or someone to breed one?

Shame Dream World can't be accessed until the end of the Month. Beat the game at 17 hours and ten minutes. Loved the music and quite a few of the new Pokemon designs. It was so nice to go through the game and not see a single familiar Pokemon...even if Woobat was a little similar to Zubat. Didn't have to do much grinding but being given a free Lucky Egg and only going with a party of four until the end didn't hurt either.

My Party included Emboar, Carracosta, Hexrious (Or whatever the name of the Dragon was), Krookola (Sand croc) and the White Dragon Legendary. Last guy I was stuck with because the plot demanded it but oh well.

EDIT: Oh and be warned. I was generally overlevelled most the game, except for the last two bosses but everything postgame jumps at least ten levels. Any route/city you can access after the ending will have trainers with Pokemon at level 60 or higher and considering the Elite Four and such were around level 50 or so, you may want to grind a little beforehand. Oh and you can't grind at the E4 because they jump to level 70-75 right after the ending.

What no grinding on the Elite Four? There goes my usual strategy!

Haven't played much of anything lately. Planning on getting black or white (most likely black) but that will have to wait for a while. Been playing Dissidia off and on getting ready for Dissidia 012 which comes out on MAH BIRTHDAY!! Oh and some GTA 4 when I have time.

Wow, I haven't been here for a while, but I have still been gaming. I've been playing K-On for the PSP for close to four months. What I thought was going to be a horribly expensive and stupid spur of the moment purchase turned into a pretty good buy. It won't and shouldn't win any awards for being great; it just happens to be a really fun game. There are also an insane amount of unlock-ables; which I only have 83% of. Overall, its a very fun game.
I also bought Beyond Good and Evil; I remembered someone here talking good things about so I tried it. Everything is there for a great game: interesting story, cool characters, good game play, and great music. I must say that I love this game! It has a great charm that is hard to explain.
I did finally finish Sakura Wars 3 a little while back. Not as a good as the first two games, and its kinda hard to even says its better then just a good game. I enjoyed most of it, and pretty excited to be starting the fourth game soon. Also trying to finish Persona 3 again. I know, I've said and tried this a few times, but now I'm determined to finish. Although, grinding for the past three hours has killed my mood for it again. I'll keep plugging away it it though.

You may...may be able to grind the E4 in the time between beating them and going onto the next foe...maybe.

Up to Route 6 in Pokemon White. Something like 62 seen/39 obtained in the Pokedex, with all captures done via Premier Ball.

Just beat the Elite 4 in White and am now starting on my after game side quests. Unfortunately, there is not much of a way to grind after the Elite 4 (Except Audino farming) which wouldn't be so bad if all the after game areas didn't have trainers with Pokemon 10+ levels above what you faced in the Elite 4. I feel a little bit like I'm cheating, but I traded, sorry, transfered over some of my level 60-ish Pokemon from other games to even the odds a little. It's not like I transfered my Scizor over. =P

Playing through Pokemon Black atm. Just beat back Team Plasma after the 2nd gym. So far I've purchased a total of 5 copies of the games 8O... one for me, one for my buddy, one for my cousin, one for my sister, and one for my brother.

I'm also working my way through Beyond Good & Evil HD. Just took my second photo at the Slaughterhouse. The camera can be pretty wonky at times, but other than that the game is extremely enjoyable. <3 Jade

Yea...I'd advise anyone that isn't really into cars, don't get that game. 😛 It definitely takes time to get into. If anything...i'd advise you try and do B-Spec mode alot at first. Money and prize cars that you can use in the A-Spec mode. I do hope you'll stick with it.

I've been playing Puyo Pop via the only version I have a copy of the game. lol I never really cared much for the series, but now that I can now chain more than 2 combos, which is something I never tried to learn, it makes the game more enjoyable. I keep going back to it if only because of this track.

Just finished Beyond Good and Evil... Ending was confusing =|... I WANT MY SEQUEL NOW PLEASE. My only complaints about the game: 1) too much stealth areas and 2) wonky camera, although that is due to the time it was made.

Just bought Dissidia 012 Duocedim Final Fantasy (becasue just calling Dissidia 2 was too simple) Haven't played it yet (damn mid-terms to focus on) but I will when i get the time tomorrow!

Socom 4 multiplayer beta. It's the first Socom I've played in years, since the original, but the improvements are obvious. It still has all of the tactical requirements from Socom 1, but the controls seem easier, cleaner.

Socom 4 update: Okay, they really need to do something about the spawn camping. In the last 3 games I've played, my team has lost because the other team gets a couple guys over into our spawn point and just shoots everybody as they're trying to leave. With only 2 spawn points possible (at least, as of now), you can hold an entire team with roughly a quarter of your team if you can position them at the spawn points of the other team.

And there's not really much of anything you can do about it. Sure, you can eventually shoot your way out, but that takes far too much time and costs far too many deaths. The last game I played, I literally died 4 times in a row with-out even leaving our spawn area. If I want to die as I'm spawning, I'll play Black Ops.

Finished Mass Effect 2. Had a perfect final mission which was nice. =D

Started Dragon Age (Gogo Bioware marathon) at the insitance of several friends. So far, I found Mass Effect to be better. Maybe I'm just more of a sci-fi than fantasy person. Made my DA character look like a medieval version of my Shepard though, so at least that is nice.

While I don't mind Donkey Kong Country 2 on the GBA, I find I'm not loving DCK3 on the GBA at the moment. While the gameplay is fine (The game can be a bit dark but having the backlit GBASP eliminates that issue) I find that I just can't enjoy it really because of the new soundtrack. It just...there's no fun in playing Donkey Kong Country without the music.

Okay I'll stop whining.

Started Dissidia 012 the other day after waiting like 70 minutes for the data install to install. The game is really good, and a good improvement over the first game. The fact you can import original dissidia data means I can fire up my game with my lv 100 Squall and Jecht and have all the fun in the world! The new characters are a blast for the most part. Lightning is a blast to play as and Laguna is a BEAST! Kain and Yuna takes some getting used to, but I can't stand playing as Tifa! I can never seem to effectively connect her attacks to the opponents. Oh well. Haven't tied out Gilgamesh or Prishe yet so dunno about them.

The gameplay is also much improved with the new assist system that adds a surprising amount of strategy to the game. However, like the last game, the story is complete nonsense. I never really understood what the hell was happening or why the whole time I played through the first story. The fact that the second story is just the first games story (it even has the exact same cutscenes!) feels like cheap developing, but it is better structured this time around. Of course on the plus side, the inclusion of this story makes buying the first game if you missed it completely unnecessary as well as the fact pretty much everything from the first game (stages, music, etc...) is also in this one. The unlockable side scenarios are fun though and help flesh out the admittedly deep characters. Also the Quest Creator is really, really fun. It may be limited, but the fact I can create my own story using the previously useless icons is just icing on the cake!

On the whole the game gets a solid 8 out of 10 from me. It's fun and most likely won't be leaving my PSP until Square releases another solid game.

Like The 3rd Birthday, perhaps? Because that's what I'm playing now. Only played the first mission, so I've only got a basic idea of the game. The plot, so far, is pretty bonkers. Don't worry, there's no spoilers because as I said, I only played one mission.

See, there are these aliens (called Twisted) from the future. They consume... well I forget but I guess it's their way of substanence until there's no more. Then, they travel through time to an earlier point, before they consumed it all, and do it again! It's like eating a cookie, then going back in time to a time before you ate the cookie, and eating it again! Reusable cookies! I don't know how exactly we learned that facet of alien behavior but the game's still young. Anyway, the government has made a time-travel machine to combat this menace. Well, sorta. It only goes backwards (that's 'to the past', in case you are chronologically confused about time) apparently. And it doesn't exactly take you back, it only takes your consiousness/mortal soul back. So where does your... whatever go? The nearest sucker I guess. Then his or her visage shatters (I think that's only supposed to be metaphorical because well DAMN MAN I can't imagine that's healthy for the body) and you are standing in their place. But of course, the body cannot function without the mind, so if you die (read as: you're currently occupying the body of someone who dies) out there, you die in the present or at least go braindead, so your family can publicly fight over pulling the plug on you. So basically, you go into the past to defeat aliens that came from the future. Makes sense to me!

Got to run around New York shooting aliens and body-jumping Agent style. Hey, that guy's sniping from the roof. WWWWWAAAAAHHHHH (poor attempt at imitating sound effect) Now I'M sniping from the roof. YEAH TAKE IT TWISTED! Oh damn, I just took it. Quick, jump bodies! WWWWWAAAAAHHHHH Haha! I'm not that guy you have impaled on your fist anymore, now I'm the guy across the street shooting you! I do find it kinda disturbing to just be stealing bodies like that. I sure hope they get them back when you leave ("What the hell? Uh... I HAVE SLAIN THESE BEASTS!") and don't simply vanish from existance. Well, except for the guys I used for kamikazee runs and left bleeding on the street. They're probably dead.

Despite being a 3rd-person shooter, it goes a bit back towards the first game in the RPG department as you have levels again. Killing things ups your stats and life, as opposed to just being currency to buy spells like in #2. I'm not into RPG's myself, so hopefully it won't be too intrusive or require me to run around killing things just to beef up (stupid giant spider boss at the hospital from the first game... I HATED YOU.)

After running around CTI for a while, I discover you can examine stuff Resident Evil style... And that Aya makes an "Uh-uh" sound every single time, which is a little awkward if you're around other people. She's just vocalizing her... uh, curiosity. She's not humping anything, I promise. Does looking at things really need to be accompanied by sound effects?

ADD: Man, how did I forget to mention the plot? FIXED.

For all your lightgun shooting needs and some other insanity too.

I completed Dragon Age 2 yesterday and am now at a loss as to what to play next. As such, seeing as their are recommendation threads enough, I'd ask here what people think is best next out of what I own and either haven't played yet or haven't played in years and need to complete, so should restart.

Haven't played:

  • Yakuza 2[*]Infinite Space (Infinite Line outside the UK)[*]Fragile Dreams[*]Deadly Premonition[*]Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter[*]Persona 3[*]Persona 4[*]Lost Oddyssey[*]Secret of Mana[*]Star Ocean 2[/list:u:c8a8c2444d]

Haven't complete and need to restart:

      [*]Dragon Quest VIII

    • Skies of Arcadia[*]Grandia[*]Grandia 2[*]Dark Chronicle[*]Zone of the Enders[*]Tales of Eternia (Destiny 2 in the US)[*]Muramasa[*]Odin Sphere[/list:u:c8a8c2444d]

Really not sure where to begin with these, neither is a complete list, but simply the ones I'm most interested to play atm.

hm, lots o' rpgs in there... could take a while.

I figure you outta knock out the shorter games first before moving on the the big time wasters (Persona, Dragon Quest, etc.). I believe Fragile, Deadly Premonition and ZoE are relatively short games, followed by Muramasa and Odin Sphere.

Coincidentally, I'm 14 hours deep into Dragon Quest VIII again. I swear each time I play this that I'm going to finish it... but I never do. So I just gotta remind myself, whatever I do... that THIS time, I'm definitely going to finish it.

Damn I haven't played ZOE in a long time! I remember it being pretty fun, but very short. Oh well.

Got a hold of brand new 3DS and am currently beating some ass in Super Street fighter IV. I don't care what some people say, but Lite controls are heavenly. Now I can finally play as Dee Jay and actually pull off some moves! ^^ The game is slick and gorgeous. Apart from the static backgrounds this game looks almost as good as the 360 version.

Trying to play Donkey Kong Country 3 with the TUFST cheat on, no DK barrels and no continue barrels. It was fun for the first two worlds and now it's starting to become a real annoyance. It's especially tough to do it when you screw up near the end and have to do the entire level over again. And we won't even talk about some of those collect 15 banana stages (I'm looking at you, Stampede Sprint).

Started up Ar Tonelico Qoga. Kinda feeling a bit meh about it all, but then the main female character ends up turning a load of her pursuers into CAKES whilst being stripped to her underwear.

This game warrants further investigation.

You know...I never realized just how tough [the]DKC[series] was until getting it on VC awhile back. That stuff is like insane. O_0!! I have no memories if it being so mindnumbingly frustrating. lol

As for what i'm playing. Good.Goodness. Blazblue Continuum Shift. Falling in love with it all over again. I have officially switched my main from Bang[S-Tier character in this game...was like mid C or something in the first] to a pure rushdown addict, Makoto Nanaya. It.Is.Ridiculous. Realizing all of the options she has is blowing my mind. I close my eyes and I see fist flying. I constantly hear "Makoto Style Super!!" in my ears. And i'm loving every minute of it. C'Mon, ASW give us some more BB! I needs it! Badly! So badly!

I think it is because games have gotten easier since then. Difficulty levels, game saves, more refined controls. All of these things and more have gotten us used to easier games. When you go back and play games that did not have these options, they seem that much more difficult.

I downloaded several old games that I remember playing when I was a kid, and they seem harder now than they did then. Most recently Sonic 1 and 2 (Sonic 2 just came out on PSN this week, I would wager it is on XBL as well). I used to beat these games on a regular basis on the Genesis, now I get a few levels in and am done.

Edit: Since I forgot to post it, I am playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in between bouts of Burnout Paradise online with friends. I will likely be picking up Homefront next.

Sonic 2 is really hard on 360 (I got the UGC collection, but I don't think it's any different from XBLA). The difficulty from the 360 is enhanced due to the crappy D-pad. Seriously that thing sucks. I've yet to find a decent controller on 360 with a sturdy D-pad.

Took Street Fighter 4 online while setting around doing nothing at my college campus. Got my ass handed to me, like really bad. I never even landed a single blow. Dat's cool though, I've never been good at Street Fighter (too many damn attack buttons!) I usually keep that as a single player only affair. I just wanted to see how the 3DS did over wi-fi. The result is pretty smooth. I don't think I saw any lag during my match, but I only played one match so I don't know if this remains true through subsequent bouts.

On the console front, FINAL FANTASY VI! The PS1 version as it is the only version I own. I really love this game, always have, I probably play through about once a year. The story, the unforgettable characters, the villian. This game is a true example on why you can't compete with Square (Enix) when it comes to JRPGs.

I played Pach and Saff in SFIV 3DS, and had the same result @ Eggpire. Silky smooth m/

Apparently I haven't updated this since I got my 3DS... Ended up grabbing Pilotwings, Steel Diver, and SFIV. SFIV is by far the prettiest and most complete. Pilotwings and Diver seem pretty flat to me. I'll probably try to beat Diver soon and trade it in for some credit somewhere.

Still working through Pokemon, leveling up my team so the 4th gym leader will stop handing me my ass.

Out of curiousity, what level of the 3D setting do people use. I tried a 3DS out with a copy of Street Fighter but I found trying to play with the 3D at max bugged me too much. Perhaps because it's a fast paced game but my eyes just couldn't handle it. Even at 50 percent, it still bugged me. I was never a fan of 3D to begin with so maybe that's why.

I've never tried a tactics game so I'm trying out a copy of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the GBA. The battle system will take some getting used to, that's for sure.

I keep my 3D slider firmly in the middle. Turning it all the way up can get disorienting for me. I don't reaaly notice too much a difference of depth at the mid point and at max. Plus I'm sure keeping the 3D can give you some extra battery life, and as it satnds now the 3DS battery life is pretty disaappointing.

Still going through FF VI, just got past the Opera scene, before stopping to lay some Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and House of Dead 2 & 3 on Wii (Xbox is dead... again).

I can play SFIV at max no problem, but I can't get my eyes to focus right with Pilotwings. No problem with Steel Diver.

I tend to just keep the 3D at half for battery's sake though.

I forgot to mention that I grabbed Portal: Still Alive on XBLA... Figured now is as good of time as any to replay, with #2 coming out next week 😯

Yeah, agreed with Hiro and Eggpire. My 3d slider is either at half or just under. For better pic quality and battery saving, I guess.

I just beat The Legend Of Heroes: Trails In the Sky. XSeed did a fantastic job localizing this. All the characters' dialogue is entertaining, which is good, because there was a LOT of dialogue in this game. Took me fifty hours to get through. Had great plot twists, the music was fantastic, and that cliffhanger...

I don't want to spoil anything, but that cliffhanger really left me wanting the Second Chapter out here as soon as possible. This was worth the wait and I recommend it to anyone with a PSP who loves RPGs.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland

So I found this for cheap in the pawn shop and since I love Kirby games, I decided to give it a go. The story is pretty ho hum, King Dedede has stolen the Star Rod and split it up into multiple pieces, giving each one to a minion and keeping one for himself. It's up to our pink blob to save the day. Somehow Kirby ends up screwing stuff up and BAD things happen but as usual Kirby is there to save the day. This is also the series debut of the uber popular Meta Knight, who would make his return in Revenge of the Meta Knight, a freaking game that deserved to be expanded into its own title but that's neither here or there.

This is a remake and I played the original and this blows it out the water. It's bright and colorful like you expect for your Kirby games and while it features the standard platforming settings, it also includes a retro level where you romp through a black and white series of levels from Kirby's Dreamland (Seriously, how great is that? No really!) or flying through some harsh winds through a fleet of blimps and such. The sound is pretty good, you'll recognize some tunes from Kirby Super Star and just some regular Kirby tunes in general.

...

GAMEPLAY wise...this is one of the reasons why it can be tough for me to come back to any Kirby game before Superstar. You have your various powers you can inherit by swallowing foes and a few new ones exclusive to this game that can be pretty spiffy, like shooting a laser that can bounce off walls, turning into a bouncy ball, donning a cape and jumping to the high heavens or even turning into a UFO and shooting lasers. These are cool but some of the other powers seem a bit boring, especially when you played Superstar and they added a bunch of other attacks to the power so that if you inherited a power, you had a beavy of attacks to choose from that, making for a more enjoyable experience. Quite a few are a bit repititive (ice, spikes, fire) and without any alternate attacks, can get bland at times.

The difficulty is...easy to say the least but the game sure likes to throw a bunch of enemies at you, that will only do one thing which is fly in your face. I also hate that pressing up causes Kirby to fly...if you're playing with long fingers, or a big hand, you can find yourself hitting up on a regular basis and that's just bad

All that said...the game is fun.

I've been playing Resident Evil 5 co-op with Rexcalibur and its been absolutely hilariously fun. <3333 Co-op makes that game so much better.

Also got No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise for the ps3. It's okay, but I guess I was hoping for a little more from the game from what I remembered. Still badass insane, though :3

Also got Dead or Alive Dimensions so I'll give that a whirl, but I'm waiting for L.A.Noire to arrive tomorrow... now THAT'S a game I'm looking forward to <3
