It seems Capcom is giving Inafune another chance to get the sales of IHX up. Capcom of Japan has announced a re-release of the title on January 25th, 2007. It will be sold at a reduced price of $17.70 (almost half-off). This is clearly an attempt by Inafune/Capcom to get the sales up so he can at least make an IHX2 (or so I'm hoping). Sony fans are expected to flock to the PSP this christmas season with the PS3 in short supply. It makes sense to release it just after everyone has aquired their PSPs over the holidays.

from Megaman network.

i think that the irregular hunter x series doesn't stand a chance. from what i understand, we haven't sold one copy of it (or any other PSP game) yet.

i don't think decreasing it in price is a bad thing, but if they are hoping to get enough sales to get a sequel, well then they might just be done.

From the sound of things, it looks like they certainly won't ever get to X4... Kind of a shame, as I would've really liked to see how that one would've turned out. But at the same time, I don't ever expect to own a PSP, so I guess it doesn't matter much for me. Wish that series would've been put on the PS2 and/or GameCube...

This also makes it that much more annoying that we stupidly got screwed out of awesome extras for the X Collection because of this series that is likely going nowhere.

i'm not sure if they'd release it for PS2, it might be a better idea, but who outside of fans would buy it? they could just grab MMX collection if they wanted to play it.

I'd certainly buy it, as I'm a sucker for old games remade with spiffy new graphics. :lol And it could be that some people who never played the originals my decide to try out the new version rather than the originals in the X collection.

Even if it was just the fans who bought it, I still expect it probably would be doing considerably better if it were on the PS2.

Maybe if they put it on the DS or something. I've seen maybe 1 or 2 people...total...with a PSP..but far more (it wouldn't take much, but I know at least 3 of the 10 people I hang out with) have a DS.

I know plenty of people with PSPs and they love them to bits. especially since they all downgraged the software, bought Gig sticks and pirated the games. they can get next to any game they want on it for no charge. hehe, if this was a little more widely known, that and the price of the PS3 would kill sony instantly. But i bought MMHX and borrowed a friends PSP to play it on, it was alot of fun, and playing as vile was really challenging and new too. i cant understand why it didnt really sell well besides people having no repspect for megaman these days. perhaps because capcom can't offer an outing for the series with a half decent story to back up gameplay anymore. i dont really think the game would sell on the DS either though.

Although im hoping theres gonna be some interest raised by a megaman possibly coming out on the XB360. since they left an entire MM costume in Dead rising, complete with megabuster. i'd bet that would help the other megaman games sell. cause right now all thats happenening with MM games is that Kids are buying the games in blissful ignorance, not liking them and not giving them a second look, and all us die hard fans are eating them up. other than that, capcom cant really shift the units.
