I don't know what to do.

Can someone here please suggest the boss order for the X8 Mavericks?

Thank you very much.

Boss FAQ.

It's been awhile since I've played, so this is the best help I can give you.

i'd say to start off by doing gigabolt man-o-war, the boss is really easy
and then it goes:
Yeti guy,
Rooster guy,
Panda guy,
sunflower guy,
mantis guy,
antlion guy,
....trilobite guy and thats that,

How ya think i feel anyway, im making my way through it on hard mode...
I have unlocked everything though... so that makes it miles easier

SIGMA BLAAAAAADE <drools>

Earthrock Trilobite
Gigavolt Man-O-War
Avalanche Yeti
Burn Rooster
Bamboo Pandamonium
Optic Sunflower
Dark Mantis
Gravity Antonion

In that order.

According to a site called Planet Mega Man, the X8 guide has been completed. The order in that guide should is...

Bamboo Pandamonium
Optic Sunflower
Dark Mantis
Gravity Antonion
Earthrock Trilobite
Gigavolt Man-O-War
Avalanche Yeti
Burn Rooster

That way you're done with the top 4 levels which are non-auto-scroll stages.

Interesting. Man-o-War was the very last Maverick I beat. I just couldn't shoot him down in time. But then I came up with a plan to save all my boost power-ups and use them all at once so I'm right on his tail. Shot him down fairly easily and eventually destroyed him.

I rented the game. I found most of the rare metals and beat the game on normal. I actually thought that this was one of the easiest games in the series. The final boss battle wasn't very hard at all, as other X games' final bosses usually wipe the floor with me and I eventually just give up. Awesome game nonetheless.

I know the feeling... I only JUST beat X4 with Zero, for the first time. Like, literally in the past 15 minutes. And I've had this game for, like, two years. And it's all because of Sigma's last form. He's cake with X, but Zero lacks the elements he's weak against, meaning it's all down to how well you can hit and run, and, well, I wasn't ever so good at that, though apparently I've gotten better as time has gone on.

Anyway, I haven't been able to secure X8 - lacking a PS2 or the ability to import thr PC version kinda does that to you - so I can't say for sure how easy or hard X8 is... I wish I could, though, I've heard it's pretty good.

I can't beat with X. only with Zero for some strange reason.
or is it the other way around? :?

i found X8 to be difficult, but not unbeatable. shouldn't be worth $40 though.

I can beat X4's first two Sigmas with Zero without getting hit, but you know... the third forms just eat him alive.

Anyway, I always fought Optic Sunflower first.

You're kidding... :| I beat him with Zero long before I managed to with X. (although I've done it enough with both since then that it's fairly easy now regardless) He may not have all of X's attacks, but his fire attack (forget the exact name, press up+triangle) works wonders on the floating heads and the gun wielding version of Sigma on the right side. (in fact, I find it's actually easier to take down that part of the third form with Zero than X) As for the Sigma head in the lower left corner, I generally wait to see what it's doing first. If it tries to suck you towards it (which will be followed be spitting everything it inhaled back at you), I generally just dash away and stay in the upper right corner to avoid getting hit with stuff. If he tries to blow you away, that's when I dash in and attack. Repeat as needed.

Of course, this topic was supposed to be about X8, heh... If I remember correctly (haven't played the game in a while), I usually prefer the previously mentioned order of:

Bamboo Pandamonium
Optic Sunflower
Dark Mantis
Gravity Antonion
Earthrock Trilobite
Gigavolt Man-O-War
Avalanche Yeti
Burn Rooster

The first once is easy enough to beat without any special weapons, after which point you'll have the correct special weapons for the remaining boss weaknesses.

Just a few things:

One: Saturn version. No, the Sigma fight's the exact same, AFAIK, but I don't do Up+Triangle, because I don't have a trianlge button. 😛 (I know what move you mean, though, so no real worries.)

Two: I'm pretty certain the head on the lower-left chooses his attack based on your X-coordinate/horizontal position. The farther away you are from him, the more advantageous it would be for him to blow you into some spikes, so you back away from him and dash in once he starts.

Three: Really should try the fire move on those colored heads - Blue's easy as heck, and Yellow I managed to avoid a few times just by getting following a specific path which lets me weave through his blasts more or less unscathed, but Red... urgh. No real easy way for me to kick his can without taking damage. But...

Four: ...I dunno about you, but I found just jumping and doing that spinning move you do in mid-air on his form with the big gun to be very effective. Sure, if he exclaims "The END!", running away is the only real strategy, but since his gun doesn't hurt me (the LASER it fires does, but the gun doesn't), if he decides just to use that wide laser beam, I just stand under his gun, jump through it and hit him with said spinning attack. Heck, if you turn around midway through the attack (after the sword has gone all the way down and will curve up behind you), turning around makes the sword come back up through him AGAIN, for twice the damage. Fun. Very effective on Cyber Peacock, I find, who is my OTHER least favorite boss with Zero.

But, that's just me... Maybe I should try some of these other strats later.

Oops... Heh, I always forget X4 was also on the Saturn...

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that. I always try to move to the same position before that head shows up, but the attacks seemed to be random.

I tend to have a little trouble dodging the shots from the yellow head, but the blue and red heads are pretty easy, as they will both go down in one hit from the fire attack before getting a chance to shoot back.

I forget exactly now since I haven't played it in a little while, but I think the fire attack does a little more damage. It's possible to get several hits off fairly quickly when he's using the wide laser attack, but if you time it right you can also get a hit or two in during his "The END!" attack, since the jump during the attack will put you high enough to avoid the laser.

EDIT: Just played through it, and the fire attack does seem to do about twice the damage as the spinning saber attack on that form.

As for Cyber Peacock, fire is once again your friend. It has the same effect on him as X's Soul Body attack does. :D

Gravity Antonion
Earthrock Trilobite
Gigavolt Man-O-War
Avalanche Yeti
Burn Rooster
Bamboo Pandamonium
Optic Sunflower
Dark Mantis

...its more or less the order out of the Prime guide, and the order I use. Of course, with the Ulitmate Armor, any order is fine (because its freakin' broken...)

I thought X8 was awesome. Centuries better than X7, which I swear is painful to play...

If anyone needs any tips on the later game, I got 'em. I think I beat it, like, five times on normal mode
