What I'm curious about is, the Mega Man Legends series, which only had three games (counting 1 and 2 and the Misadventures of Tron Bonne)...
Did they just stop making the games after MML2, or have they continued the series at all? I loved these games and thought it was neat for Capcom to do something different with the Blue Bomber.
Several of the characters had cameos all over the place, and I think they're actually making a new Legends game on the PSP, though I could be wrong since I don't follow the series.
Both the PSP games are ports, actually. In fact, NONE of the PSP Mega Man games are really new; these are ports, the other two are remakes (though damn appetizing ones)... As irritated as I was to be stuck with yet more MMBN for the DS, at least it's NEW MMBN.
Of course, I don't own either, so it's not like I couldn't go either way.
yes, this is true, but The creator of the series says he'll eventually do more of it.
in all reality they Have to. if MMZ4 is the last MMZ game then they have to give a reason as to Why the world is flooded Over. As far as i know MMZ4 doesn't give an answer to that.
Doesn't sound like they're making it any time soon then, which is quite a pity. It was one of the more interesting parallel Mega Man continuities, and though it could end right where it did, it also left enough room for at least another sequel.
And Hypershadow, to my understanding the MML universe was not the same as the MM/MMX/MMZ universe/timeline, although now that you mention it, it could very well be a possibility. I always figured that it, like Mega Man Battle Network, was an alternate or parallel version of Mega Man that took place instead of Mega Man. Of course, I've only played the first MMZ and so I'm not aware of what has been revealed so far in that series.
It's not alternate, it's canon. It just takes place ludicrously late into the timeline. Like, 5XXX-ish.
I know the Zero series supposedly had SOME Reaverbot-like enemies... or something like that.
yeah, some of them kind of looked like reaverbots. although it's hard to say.
It IS canon? Ludicrously late is right, it's neat that they're all connected (though loosely), but it does seem rather overextended. Oh well, I just hope they continue the MML series. Did it do well selling-wise?
Actually, I think MML was generally unpopular except with the hardcore fans, which led to MMX 683 1/2. If it had done really well, then by all means there should have already been some sequels.
And yes, it seems MMBN is the only one who isn't tied in so far. Tadashi Hikari being that universe's Dr. Light, as Tadashi Hikari means Right Light. =O Oh well, at least he got some in that universe, even if his grandson is subject to countless typos.
MML was actually insanely popular.
And yeah, cameo's all over the place, and some cell phone games, dunno if you want to count those for anything.
Most notable was Namco X Capcom.
For the record, Inafune said he WANTED to make more Legends, not that he necesarilly could.
