(OOC: Eeeehh, Wayne? Kari's Pearl of Wisdom power is suspension of movement...or suspension for short. But that's quite alright ^^)

Karya had indeed reached the beach before the rest of the crew, slightly out of breath and disoriented from the energy her pearl needed to function. The mercenary had waited a few seconds to catch her bearings, before sprinting off in the direction of the forest. She slowed to a walk as she entered the large copse of trees at the edge of the forest, and began calling Leon's name. Kari looked from side to side, before kneeling down at the base of a certain tree. There were scattered, broken twigs and crumpled leaves, which only confirmed the mercenary's suspicion....

Leon had landed right here.

The swordswoman of The Adrianne (as she now considered herself) kept walking straight, following the impressions made in the grass and leaves from shrubs that had been carelessly ripped off in passing. Karya rolled her eyes, glad that she was able to use her tracking ability, yet slightly annoyed that she was using it to find a certain naive little captain who was deprived of all sense of direction.

No matter. She thought, with a shrug, as her pace quickened so that she was jogging. Sooner or later, I'll catch up with him...

"Leon!" Kari began shouting the cat's name, hoping that she could find him sooner. "Leon, WHERE the heck are you???"

(OOC: Actually, Clayton's assessment of Karya's pearl of wisdom is quite fitting actually. His is only a notebook and he's only going from initial views of her power. He wasn't with the group back in New Travest when she suspended both of the Rotweilers, so it seems more fitting that he has actually got a mistake here and is not neccessarily correct. :)

IC later.)

(OOC: Ah..*blinks* How right you are Ash! I was beginning to think that myself...but yah. Sounds good, because I wasn't thinking of that at the time, and only concluded that Wayne was he one mistaken. My bad! <D

In that case, IC later for me as well.)

Flickies Island

Only a short time had actually passed, but already Leon had left the confines of the forest. He had quickly managed to scale the vertical faced cliffs through his ability to jump, and was quickly going in the wrong direction from the lake and rock circle formation in the middle of it... and instead going along the path up the mountain.

Any normal person would have kept checking their status, and would have been able to see if they were going in the right direction or for that matter see the lake to their side and in the distance, which wasn't that hard to see actually. In fact, any normal person would have had at least an ounce of a sense of direction. But, Leon was not a 'normal' person.

In fact, his personality and species was an anomaly in itself. A cat that loved the water, and actually wanted to sail on a ship across it and be a pirate? He was definitely a strange one.

Leon continued to ascend the strange relief of the island, ascending the path towards the mountain through jumping, and finding himself coming closer and closer to a river which ran along the path and eventually succumbed to the rest of the relief of the ground into a waterfall which dropped the river from it's height to one much lower. As soon as Leon saw the river, he ran up to it, suddenly excited as he began to cup some of the water up and drink it.

"Ah! Refreshing! But I wish I had a lunchbox. I'm..." Leon paused slightly, as a large and distinctive rumble came from his belly. "...hungry."

"Tweet, tweet tweet tweet?" came a surprising and unexpected sound from behind Leon, which shook him from his spot and made him jump upwards slightly. Leon slowly turned around to see what the sound belonged to, and was surprised by what he saw before him.

It was a bird, a small bird with large eyes and a beak, it's leg and tummy featherings being a more yellowy orange colour whilst its feathers were a bright and bold red colour, the back of its head and feathers being shaped into a strange quiff like manner. Although Leon wasn't sure, the bird looked like a male, and would refer it as a 'he' from now on. At first, Leon just looked at the bird with a bit of wonder, and then suddenly realised what exactly it was.

A Flicky! But that was unbelievable, Flickies only ever appear on the planet, upon Flickies Island once a year. Why was a mystery, but here and now... it was quite lucky to have came on the same day as their sole appearance. Leon smiled slightly whilst looking at it, and then danced upon the spot, shouting. "So cooool!"

Leon danced backwards a bit too far however... and found the ground swept up from under his feet, as he began to fall. But this lasted only one second, as his feet and soon the rest of his body was accompanied by a greeting body of water from the river which took him in it, and began dragging him down stream, towards the waterfall.

Leon was out of senses for quite a while and took difficulty to adjusting to the new situation. At first he looked alarmed, but this disappeared as he became more comfortable with the situation. Until he spotted the incoming drop on the water, in which case his alarmed self returned.

"Oh, woa-woa-Wooooooooaaaaahhhhhh!!!" Leon trailed off, as he fell down the waterfall.

"Heh, this is too easy. That source was right on the money, absolutely perfect." A loud and sinister voice spoke aloud from a person who walked forward with pride throughout the forest, believing he was alone on the island. He was a purple furred weasel who wore a brown belt, cowboy styled hat, gloves and brown/white boots. He had a famed and recognized profile to many. A mercenary, bounty hunter for hire. Someone who would perform any job required of him, for the right price. He had come to this island on a small, one man boat, which was docked on the other side of the island away from Leon's crew. He was a sinister creature who had a sharp, chiselled and distinctive tooth which always stuck out of his mouth, and a mean glare. Coupled with this his appearance was all the more intimidating with the two small revolvers styled weapons, fully loaded. He was a professional, and he was Nack the Weasel.

However, this time and particular instance, he was working for no one else, but himself. This particular job was all of his own scheming, and it was something that was going right. He carried over his right shoulder a large, brown bag which was filled with something... strange. The contents gave the bag a strange shape, that was constantly changing as it's contents seemed to move. And it was because of what was in there, that his job was going so well.

"This is too good, too simple." He spoke to himself still. "That information I paid a good deal of money for worked out. The rare Flickies that only appear on this planet once a year, and only on this island... just happen to come on this same day that I decide to investigate. Heh. Ah, these rare gems will give me a pretty price, if I do say so myself. Their value should net me a pretty sum from bidders. I've already bagged myself 5, but... I want to know where these birds go to for the rest of the years, and where they come to. I want a good supply of these treasures... I can't just expect to wait every year to nab them. So where do they come from?"

Nack pressed on throughout the foliage, then suddenly stopped, his heart pounding, as he heard a strange noise. What was that? A shrill sound... as if it belonged to a voice... which suddenly vanished. Hmp, whilst it was possible for other people to be on this island, it was doubtful. People didn't know when the Flickies would be on this island, and there was nothing else of value on it. Unknown to Nack, it actually belonged to Leon and his trailing scream from falling off the waterfall, but he couldn't know about it.

There were supposedly ruins here which gave information about other gems throughout the world (something Nack wanted to investigate as well) but where exactly it was was unknown. And besides, there were also rumours that the ruins had writing of them in an ancient language that no one could decipher. So it made the island a pretty barren and unvisited island, other then from new people who might just come to explore and see if they could uncover the truth behind any rumour, but it would always lead to failure.

"Oh well, better carry on with this mission and get as many of these money babies as I can..." Nack trailed off.

On the side of the island where Leon and his shipmates had landed, another ship came towards it and stopped as well, next to the ship. This new ship was distinctly larger and ore menacing compared to the smaller Addrianne, and it actually belonged to a crew which had unfinished business with Leon and his pirates. Composed mainly of Rotweilers, this group served under the feared Pirate Damon, and aimed to get the valued hedgehog inventor and repairman Marque back, and to deal with the people he left with... once and for all.

Secure their ship. The menacing voice spoke which belonged to the crews powerful leader, Drefney. I would have words with them and with that escaped a low, fearsome growl.

Drefney nodded as he turned to the Crew. "Fire the ship harpoon." he spoke.

"Roger, sir." said a Pitbull as it pulled down the massive lever on the ship and a large harpoon shot from the ship's side, the center of the side. It made contact with the 'enemy' ship and the chain in which used to do such seemed to be large enough to walk on.

"Drawbridge is set, sir." he laughed.

_______________

By this time Marque was on the island as well, Alliandra decided to stay on the ship herself.

When the loud harpoon hit the ship her eyes widened and retrieved her bow and decided to take cover behind some crates.

Remembering Marques description of the invention he built for Damon - was it? She grimaced as she prepared her bow for action.

Karya had managed to navigate her way through the forest, following all the clues Leon left her in his passing. Once she exited the dense foliage, a loud piercing sound met her large ears. Flicking them in the direction of the noise, Kari began to sprint toward it. But as soon as the shrill cry had sounded, it was gone, and the vixen and strain her ears for the slightest indication of what it might have been.

"Dunno many creata's that can make that noise..." She muttered to herself. "An' I don't think there'd be any birds around here besides flickies...but I doubt even if those lil' things were here, they'd be able to do that."

And with a small gasp, and a barely audible "Leon!", Kari was off and running toward the location where she had last heard her captain's scream. Or at least, that's what she assumed was his scream....

Upon reaching the waterfall, slightly out of breath, the mercenary surveyed the cascade of water, a feeling of dread settling in the pit of her stomach. Where was Leon? Had she heard right, or was she mistaken? Had something else happened to him? Right then, Karya caught sight of an orange blur among the rushing water, and her pulse quickened. Leon was being swept down the waterfall!

"LEON!" She shouted, running up to one of the bigger rocks at the base of the falls. It was slippery, and she had to struggle to keep her balance as she tried to locate the young cat once again. He had managed to survive his tumble over the waterfall, and was now struggling to stay afloat as he was swept down the rapids. This particular part of the river did not look like it was going to slow down any time soon, and Karya didn't think Leon could stay afloat that much longer.

Jumping down from the big rock, the vixen sprinted alongside the riverbank, trying to overtake Leon. With a running leap, she jumped into the river itself, using her pearl to run on its surface. Stopping before Leon, Kari grabbed one of his flailing arms and hoisted the dripping cat over her shoulder.

Panting, the mercenary jogged back over to the other side of the bank, just as the powers of her pearl wore off.

"Leon? Leon, are ya alright mate?" She asked, hoping he would be able to stay concious and had suffered nothing serious.

Leon sat along the river bank, spluttering out some of the water he had managed to take in. After he felt a bit better, he turned towards Karya slowly, himself looking totally soaking wet, but his expression was one of a different matter. His eyes were wide as was his mouth in a pleased expression.

That. Was. So. Awesome! He shouted, which surprised Karya a bit and made her take a step back. Can we do that again?

Karya raised a hand towards her face, covering is either disappointment or irritation.

Dya aim to do that the entire time? Karya asked him.

N-no I was walking along, trying to find myself to the lake with the big stone formations in them, thinking there was a clue there, when I was surprised by a Flicky. Leon explained, with his index finger pressed against his chin and looking up towards the sky.

A Flicky? But ya said they only ever appear once a year, on this island. Do ya mean that this just happens to be that day? Karya asked. Leon nodded in return, and Karya then sighed. Does this change anything? Make it easier, or harder?

I dont know, but its so cool! Flickies are awesome, and who knows, we might find out why theyre only here for a day! Leon shouted, jumping back up and grabbing Karyas hands, surprising the vixen yet again. I want one.

What? Ya just cant take one ya imbecile! Karya replied, knocking Leon head slightly to try and put sense into him. There must be a reason why theyre only ever here once a year. We cant disturb them by taking them!

Suddenly, there was another sound which surprised the pair, and what almost made Leon fall into the river yet again, if it wasnt for Karya who grabbed him at the last moment. After they had their bearings, they turned to look towards the source of the sound, and found it was a Flicky, the same one who had surprised Leon before.

See! A Flicky! Thats the same one I met earlier! Leon joyfully spoke. Leon suddenly stopped though, his joyful expression immediately turning to one a bit distressed as he looked at the Flicky.

Tweet, tweet tweet, tweet! The Flicky spoke.

Uh, Leon, are ya okay? Karya asked.

This Flicky. Hes in pain. He says that his friends are in trouble for a bad man. Someone else is on this island. Leon explained, his tone devoid of joy.

What?! Ya telling me you can understand tweet?! Karya asked.

No, but I can feel what hes saying. We need to help him and his friends. Leon said, turning to look back at Karya.

Are you kidding? Ah thought we were here only for the ruins. We cant just get ourselves involved fighting against a bad man. And who knows how dangerous he is. Karya said.

I dont care. We need to help them. Like you said, their lives cant be disturbed like that. And besides, if we help them, theyll help us probably lead us to the ruins! Leon replied.

Youre crazy. Karya curtly said. But, youre the captain, and ah suppose weve got ta do something.

Lead the way, Quip! Leon said to the Flicky, who nodded and them began flying back towards the forest and leading them to the Flicky. Leon and Karya began to run after it.

Quip? Do ya even know if thats his name? Karya asked.

Yep! His names Quip and thats that! Leon said, as the two entered into the deep forest where their adventure on the island had begun.

With an agitated sigh, Kari forced herself to keep up with Leon and Quip, thinking that if she ever got out of this, she'd stay away from Leon's descendants as long as she could. First they were here to look at the ruins, and now her captain was leading her away, toward some strange man who had been apparently disturbing the Flickies. If she wasn't so miffed about the fact that she agreed to all this, Karya would be enjoying the beauty of the island. Then again, there was also her paranoia, which she had developed after years of stealing, sneaking, and hiding that kept a mercenary like herself from relaxing.

"First...thing's first, cap'm. If this...guy looks too dangerous......we can't risk our lives just for....just for some poor unfortunate Flickies." The vixen glanced at Leon, knowing that he probably wouldn't listen.

She was right. "But Karya, you said..."

"Forget what I said!"

Leon frowned, "Even if I did, I'd still wanna help them. Poor little guys. We can't just leave them with whatchamacallit!"

Kari just groaned, knowing better not to argue after he had made up his mind. "But what about the crew?"

The rest of the crew will be alright! Leon proudly and confidently declared over his shoulder to Karya. My partners are strong, and theyll be okay! After all, the only people on this island are us, the rest of the crew, the Flickies and this one bad guy!

Oh how wrong he was.

Several of the pirates under Drefneys command continued to race forwards towards Leons ship, some along the solid steel chain large enough for the people to walk on. Some of them have thrown much more smaller grappling hooks with rope onto the other ships higher areas such as its mast, but since the Adrianne was much more smaller compared to Drefneys ship, they couldnt simply swing to the other boat, which would work. It was almost like a pulley system, but instead going downwards.

Ali winced at the sight of the pirates. There was a lot, way too many of them, even for her. She hadnt yet revealed her position but she knew shed have to soon in order to protect the ship from further damage. It had already been wounded pretty badly with a devastating side wound which made a gaping hole filled with the chain, something Spaz would no doubt not be best pleased with. She was once a captain as well, and she knew how much it hurt to have your own ship damaged, and it was almost like a responsibility and drive in itself to protect the ship. She internally hoped though that some of the others would make their way back. She was a sniper, and could only really fight from a distance, but the way they were coming so quickly, and from so many different directions, she didnt believe she could hold them off. She almost thought of staying hidden, but if she did, the ship would have been overridden and lost. She would have to fight, reveal her position

and fired an arrow towards one of the rope pulley systems, snapping it into two and sending those pirates who were riding down it towards the ship into the water between the Adrianne and Drefneys ship. Ali mentally smiled to herself in succeeding with getting rid of about five members, but they would return, and with so many more already closing in on the ship, she didnt have the time to congratulate herself.

Unfortunately I cant do the same to the metal grapple meaning these people are going to keep having a link to the ship! she mentally worked out.

Sir! cried a Rotwieler on the enemy ship, who was in fact Eric. It definitely appears as if theyre still on the ship, and theyre already trying to force us back.

Is that right? Drefney replied, smiling slightly.

Yes, a sniper. She has a long bow. But, she is the only one apparently fighting. Eric added.

Hmp, a pathetic longbow will not defeat us, as will only one woman fighting. She will be overrun shortly. What I want to know is why none of her friends are helping. Drefney spoke.

Yes. I know for a fact that there are 5 others, including a cat, another vixen, a Bat and a Bat eared fox who are helping the hedgehog. Eric explained. There could be more though

Do you think some of them might already be on the island? Aaron asked.

Maybe. Or they could be hiding in ambush on their ship. Im not sure. Eric explained. At that time, his commander, Drefney smiled wickedly.

Well, lets see just how skilled a sniper is when they cant even see their own targets Drefneys eyes narrowed as they looked straight towards Ali, who was focusing on shooting those of Drefneys pirates who were charging over the harpoon grapple, her focus on that. Suddenly, on a whim and feeling, she looked up and spotted Drefney, some surprise on her face as she looked curiously at him. Then, she screamed.

Ahhh! Ali called out, as her vision disappeared and she fell to the ground, dropping her long bow and clutching her eyes shut, the sudden loss of vision unexpected. She stumbled, and fell to the ground, before realising how desperate her situation had become, and when she heard the thud of footsteps upon the deck itself. No! she mentally screamed.

The rest of the group, Spaz, Clayton and Marque had begun wondering Flickies Island itself, walking forwards and forwards, closer towards the middle, but more importantly, the forest where Clayton had spotted Leon in earlier and also where Karya had gone searching for him. They had all heard a strange sound emanate from a waterfall nearby, but after hearing nothing more from it, they believed it was simply nothing and continued to walk. Clayton was ahead of the group, leading the way as he knew where the forest was more easily then the rest, Spaz following and with little fear, instead taking in the rest of the scenery of the strange island. Marque was following behind, trailing slightly, as something felt weird to him. He was worried, frightened, but he couldnt explain why. Something just seemed wrong.

Ah yer sure you know where ya going? Spaz asked, following Clayton, his head continually moving from side to side and inspecting the land.

I know I saw Leon land in that forest, and jump back out of it earlier, so I think our best start would be in there. Hopefully well meet Karya along the way. Clayton explained.

W-we should go in the o-opposite way of the direction he should have gone in to f-find him, right? Marque asked, hesitation and a hint of fear in his voice.

Right, but we dont know which way he was even meant to go in, either. Clayton replied, sighing. Hes an impulsive and reckless kid, thats for sure.

Ya telling me. Spaz added, nodding.

A-are you sure A-ali will be okay by herself? Marque asked, more hesitation and fear evident in his voice.

Fairly sure, Clayton replied, his tone more warm and compassionate to try and make Marque feel better. This island seems abandoned enough, so the only people that should be here are us. And besides, Ali should be okay by herself

Kari sighed, still feeling uneasy despite Leon's confidence about the abilities of his crew. It touched her that he was that confident that the crew of the Adrianne could hold their own. It did. But something wasn't right, and no matter what the captain said she still harbored the feeling that something was going on.

"I dunno about that, mate. Th'crew were 'sposed to follow me here and catch up with you. The ship may be unguarded."

Leon paused slightly as they kept running forwards, but then answered. "No, I don't think so. We're smart enough not to leave it unguarded. Back in town Spaz and Clayton guarded the ship so someone will have stayed behind this time.

"Besides, there's only one person here, or so says Quip. I don't think the ship is in much danger." Leon said, looking over his shoulder towards Karya and smiling warmly, trying to make her feel better.

The three, cat, vixen and flicky had by now entered the forest and was running through it, searching for the man around here, the one who had supposedly begun harming Flickies.

He hid behind a large trunk of a tree as they ran past him and kept going in the specific direction, leaving him behind. Nack glared after them from as much as possible, watching them dissapearing from view, his heart beating fast. He didn't know who they were or why they were here, but it meant other people were on this island, and he would have to act a bit more cautiously.

He had spotted them in the distance coming towards the forest before, and managed to hide in sight just in time as they passed by him, but he still wondered why they were here. Could they be aiming to capitalise on the Flickies here as well? There was a Flicky in front of them... could they have been chasing it? Whatever it was, they were cramping on his turf and making things much more difficult for himself. He would have automatically put them out of commision, but there were two of them, and two were two too many.

He sighed loudly. He didn't have much time now. He had to find the source of the Flickies whereabouts the past year before they did, and he had to do it without them even notcing, something which wouldn't be easy. Again, he sighed, as he walked out of the forest, his bag filled with Flickies still in tow over his shoulder, and bumped into something else he neither expected or wanted...

A group of three people. There were more people here?! A hedgehog, bat eared fox and a standard bat, none of which filled him with hope or relief. They were in fact Clayton's group, who had walked towards the forest in order to search for Leon and Karya's last believed whereabouts, and they had walked into a weasel on what was otherwise an empty island.

'Damn.' Nack thought to himself. 'Just how many people are there on this island?! Did they all buy the same information? Geez...' Nack held back slightly, waiting to see what the the three people's reaction would be.

Clayton, Spaz and Marque were standing in front of a weasel. Clayton leaned next to Spaz. "Isn't this island supposed to be un-inhabited?" Clayton asked quietly. Spaz started to nod. "Yeh, I do believe so." he replied.

Nack was becoming anxious. From their dress they looked like pirates. But he couldn't be sure. They could be undercover Marines. Then his bag started to stir. "What's up with your bag?" Marque asked.

"Yah recognize him Clayton?" Spaz whispered.
"I'm not sure." Clayton said, "He looks familiar, but I'm not sure yet."

OOC: Er, Wayne, you have a LOT of editing to do. First of all, Leon, Karya and Quip are nowhere near the river anymore. Theyre actually running through the forest searching for the bad man (Nack) who is attacking and hurting Flickies.

Clayton, Spaz, and Wayne are now in front of the entrance to the forest after going in that direction to find Karya and Leon. Theyve just now bumped into Nack the Weasel, the bounty hunter who has been kidnapping Flickies, but none of them know it.

The group wouldnt meet up so easily, and even if they could, Spaz wouldnt know what the Flickys name is. If anything, they would be surprised that Flickies are actually on the island at the moment since they usually arent and only come one day a year.

And Claytons feeling that something is wrong seems a bit too convenient giving the situation. Since Clayton, Spaz and Marque havent seen anyone else yet on the island, theyd think it was pretty safe and abandoned, and thus, Ali would be alright.

OOC: I apologize. I miss read the last few posts I guess. As for me saying spaz knew quips name, that was me putting the wrong name in that slot. I meant to put leon, but I guess wasn't thinking and put spaz. I'll fix

OOC: No prob, Wayne. :) Thanks for the edit.

IC:
Outside the Forest

Nack hesitated as he looked to the three people. He was deliberating over what he should say and also many other things, such as whether these three people were with the other two people he hid from before. He decided to just speak on the spot, improvise, and hope it was good enough.

Uh, my bag? Nack took a moment to look at it, and see the bulges moving somewhat. Oh! My bag. You see Ive got a lot of equipment in there and it moves around a lot because of it.

Equipment? Spaz raised a curious eye brow.

Im an archaeologist. I came to this island to research it and try and uncover the mysteries of it, such as where the Flicky birds are apart from one day of the year, and to see what other things there might be on this island for historical purposes. Nack quickly bluffed, although some of what he was saying WAS true just twisted to fit his purposes.

But, uh, why are you here? This island is usually empty. Nack asked, trying to shift the attention away from him.

The Adrianne

Theres no one else aboard the ship, Captain Drefyney! shouted one of the crewmembers who reported back to him. Drefney had been standing over the frozen Aliandria, looking at her with curious interest, before being shocked and angered by the report.

What?! Thats impossible! There was other people on this ship, right Eric? Drefney asked.

Uh, y-yes sir. They must have already gone onto the island. Eric stammered in reply.

Grr men, go out there and explore that island! I want those fools found and captured! But, some of you stay here as well, guard their ship and the prisoner! Drefney ordered. I wont make her pay yet but after weve captured them all.

Yes sir! His men replied, before jumping off the ship and onto the island searching for Leons crew.

Inside the Forest

Are you sure that this bad man is meant to be in here, Leon? We havent seen anything or anyone other then trees. Karya complained, as if it felt they were going in circles.

Quip says that the bad man was in this forestLeon replied.

Well he must have left by now. I dont know, use your jumping or whatever to quickly scout the island and see if you can find him. Karya said, hoping that this man wasnt in the forest because if he was, Leons jumping wouldnt be able to locate him through the large number of trees. Leon quickly nodded in reply and then jumped straight upwards, through the top of the trees without a build up, high into the sky.

Leon began to keep going up into the sky and then slowly falling, as he turned around and inspected the rest of the island, searching for any bad man. He couldnt even see Claytons crew who was masked by the edge of the forests trees, but he could see their ship The Adrianne, and another ship along with it. And the swarming of indistinct shapes figures moving through the island.

Leon landed back into the forest on the ground, next to Karya.

Well, did you find this bad man? she asked.

Umm, no but I did spot a large ship next to ours. Leon replied.

What?! Karya shouted in return.

And theres a lot of people on it, moving up onto the island as well

"I knew it!" She shouted, slapping a hand to her forehead.

"Knew what?" Oblivious as to the mercenary's worry, he cocked his head slightly to one side.

"Our ship wasn't safe! We're probably under attack Leon!" And with that, Karya began to pace, obviously pondering what to do. Leon jumped, frowning, and startled the vixen by taking off running back the way he came.

"Leon!" She called after him, running to catch up.

"We have to do something then!" The cat shouted back.

"Well, ah, uh, we need a plan first!"

"Don't try to change the subject." Clayton said. With that, Nack disappeared into the forest. "I knew that he was suspicious." Spaz said. He was about to chase after him, but was stopped by Clayton.

"No, we have more important things to do. Like finding Karya and Leon." Clayton said. Marque nodded in agreement. Spaz let out a frustrated sigh. The band of three then begin to follow Karya's seemingly unnotiable trail with Clayton leading the way.

A plan? Who needs a plan? Leon replied towards Karya. If our friends are in trouble if theyre actually being attacked, we need to help them!

The two came out of the forest in a different direction to where Clayton, Spaz and Marque had unfortunately entered, and came onto a clearing that gave the both of them a greater view of the boat. Karya was now able to see the large ship, and the swarming number of people moving throughout the island. It was here that they were also able to see the large harpoon chain stuck into the side of the Adrianne, which just made it official that these people were hostile.

Quip started flying next to Leons head, and looked towards him. Leon looked back, and saw the Flickys desperate expression, of concern for his friends. Whoever the people were that were attacking the Adrianne, was not the same person who was hurting the Flickies. Leon felt a bit more sorrowful, but was able to tell where his priorities laid.

Im sorry Quip, but I have to help my friends first, and then Ill help yours, okay? Leon said. Quips response was a bit more brightened expression, but one still worried.

We have to get there quickly! And we need a plan no matter what you think, Leon! That is, if you do think at all. Karya said.

Leon looked back a bit angered, and then forwards again. Everything will be okay. I promise. Karya was a bit surprised by this, but carried on running normally. Cmon, lets do this!

Leon held back a little and slowed his pace to allow Karya to catch up, then grabbed her by the waist, surprising her. Before she could do anything, Leon jumped high into the air, away from the upper hilly areas of the island and towards the end of the island, and more specifically the ships.

Ah ya sure tha came in here? Spaz said, beginning to get irritated with finding nothing but trees.

Yes, I know they were in. All that matters is to find them. Clayton replied.

Hey! Arent they the ones? said a surprising and unfamiliar voice from within the forest which automatically attracted the attention of the three men.

Yeah, and thats the hedgehog! said another.

Marque, Spaz and Clayton all found before them a group of people, Pirates, who formed a small number of Drefneys men. Whether the three men knew the identity of the newly arrived pirates was unknown.

They came crashing down at a good speed, landing on the deck of a large ship, Drefney's. As well as this they also landed on an unexpected member's of Drefney's crews head, knocking him in the flooring and unconscious. As it would turn out, it was the same pirate that Leon had knocked out back in New Travest, but for the time being Leon and Karya were unconcerned with it.

"Oi! What do you think you're doing?!" Leon shouted out, his tone notacibly full of rage.

A large figure turned, surprised, towards Drefney's ship. The large figure was in fact Drefney who was on Leon's ship, and the rest of Drefney's crew which stayed on the two ships looked towards Leon and Karya with surprise and slight anger at what they had done to their crewmate.

"So those are two of the ones that took the hedgehog with them?" Drefney spoke in a whipser to himself, out of audible range of the two. 'Then they can join their crewmate in the cellar.'

"Drefney Pirates! Attack! Capture them!" Drefney commanded.

Karya glared angrily toward their oncoming attackers, gritting her teeth. "I ain't been captured in ten years, and I don't intend ta break that record now!"

And with a loud cry, the vixen launched herself into the fray, taking out her swords and dealing blows. With a certain swiftness that took some of Drefney's pirates by surprise, she darted in and out of the way of swords and fists, leading Leon to remember what she had said on he ship earlier.

"I'm a mercenary..."

Kari clashed swords with one of the more brawny pirates, who was grinning madly. With a grunt, she untangled her swords from his reached out with her hand to touch his shoulder. The pirate, a doberman, grabbed Karya's leg as she was somer-salting away. To his surprise, she was smirking.

"Freeze, bozo." And he did. Releasing her leg, the vixen tapped his nose, chuckling when all he did was twitch.

"Glad we understood each other..." And with a grin, she hopped away, going to help Leon with some of the other pirates.

The three stood looking at this small group of pirates. There were about ten of them. "Hey that's the hedgehog!" one of them said. Marque then stood behind Clayton and Spaz. Spaz looked at Clayton with his eyes. Claytons hands were hidden in this cloak. Clayton then looked at Spaz. Clayton had a look in his eyes that said be prepared to fight.

"Hey you get your hands out were we can see them!" one of the pirates said. Clayton looked at the pirate. "What every you say." Clayton said. Clayton looked at Spaz and Marque. "Cover you eyes." Clayton said so only they could hear. When he pulled his out his hands and released small pellets. The pellets exploded in front of them. The pellets were small flash pellets. The pirates were blinded for a few seconds. Clayton and Spaz charge the pirates. Clayton sticks his right arm out. He suddenly stops to close line a pirate. As the pirates regained their sight, they fought back. Clayton turns his head, to see a pirate attempting a tornado kick. Clayton raises his left arm to black the kick. Out of the corner of his eye Clayton sees a pirate throwing a punch. Clayton ducks under the punch. As the arm goes past him, he slides down it's arm a bit and loops his arm around the pirates. Clayton then snaps it's arm, clutches it's hand and hurls it into a couple of pirate nocking them down like bowling pins.

Spaz sweep kicks a group of pirates. He jumps up and avoids a kick from a pirate. He quickly punches him in the chest. The force of the punch sends it into a near by tree. Spaz spins around and kicks a pirate. He leaps into the air and tornado kicks a few pirates creating a tiny clearing for himself. Spaz looks at last two pirates. Thinking quickly he reaches to his right side for his sword. He draws his sword. The then attacks the two pirates. After a trading blows he deals finishing blows to the two. Clayton having used surrounding materials to tie up the pirates.

"You didn't have to kill them." Clayton said.
"Dey would av killed us." Spaz replied. Clayton looked at him. And shook his head. Clayton hasn't agreed with kill people. Clayton looked at Marque. "Those pirates were definatly after Marque." Clayton said. His eyes then grew wide horror. He turned back to Spaz. "We have to get back to the ship now."

Spaz then realized what Clayton was implying. He nodded and the three ran back towards the ship.

Drefney snorted as he stood on a pile of crates that towered over Leon and Karya. Holding the pearl which hung around his neck tightly in his right hand. Between his index finger and his middle finger. He chuckled grimly, he could tell its power had been regained. Though there were two of them - maybe he could split the pearls powers to one of each. He snickered at the thought as he hold a saber in his other hand.

How about you pathetic excuse for pirates blink for me! he growled as he held out the pearls hand and immediately their sights began to blur and eventually they couldnt see.

AIEE!! I cant see! Leon yelled.

Leon glasped his eyes with his hands and started rubbing them feverishly, in the attempt to regain his lost sight. He was starting to panic at first, but eventually managed to calm down enough. Panicking would not be the best way to do this.

He stood his ground and his ears twitched. They were quite large and he had excellent hearing. It would be the best way to try and find his attackers, but even then he couldn't be sure.

"Where is the hedgehog?!" Drefney boomed. "Where are you hiding him!?"

Leon turned his head sharply in the direction of the voice, of where Drefney was. Although he couldn't see him, he could most definitely hear him, and he was positive he was that direction. He frowned, angry. What had he done to the rest of Leon's partners?!

"Rarrrghh!" Leon shouted, as he used all his might to jump from the point where he was standing. The jump wasn't a high vertical one. Instead, it was one more focused on a horizontal plane, jumping and thus charging at Drefney with so much force and speed, the Pirate Captain couldn't react in time to avoid it.

And was subsequently hit in the stomach. Leon had jumped with amazing speed and strength and headbutted his stomach, surprising and shocking both Drefney and his pirates, even winding him. Drefney started to fall back in surprise, before he fell down hard on to the deck. Leon stumbled backwards a bit, still blind and unsure. He now had a ringing headache, too.

"Oh... owie, owie owie!" Leon called out.

"Hmm, this looks interesting." spoke Nack as he was at the edge of the forest, looking down over the island and seeing the swarming pirates over the island, the running three of Clayton, Spaz and Marque who were heading back to the ships, and the battle upon the ships which he could see in the distance.

The weasel smirked, as he tilted his hat back down further, casting more shadows over his eyes, his other hand still holding the bulging back full of kidnapped Flickies.

"This looks like a great opportunity and distraction to find out the secret of these Flickies!" he said aloud to himself, and then turned, walking in the direction towards the lake before him, the same lake with the strange stone formation within the middle of it.

"What the...what the feck...." Karya stumbled back, blinking her eyes and rapidly trying to regain her sight. For a few moments, like Leon, she panicked. Then she felt the rush of wind beside her, and with a startled cry, the vixen dove to the floor.

A loud splintering sound alerted Kari that she had barely missed being stabbed. Gripping her swords with shaking hands, she took the moment to listen to the sounds around her. A loud cry and another rush of wind told her enough to put her swords up in front of her chest, just in time to hear a clattering of other swords clashing with her own.

C'mon Kari gal...you can do this, sight or no sight. Karya nodded mentally, before using her booted foot to trip her attacker. Then, using her pearl, she froze the pirate in place.

GRAH! Drefney sneered. Pulling out another saber and letting his pearl go back around his neck. You sons of a-- he snarled viciously as he ran towards Leon. Drefney however was not as weak as his pirates and Leon would know it when he felt the blunt end of the saber connect with his nose thus sending him flying well it would of if Leon hadnt dodged.

Aiiie! Leon shouted as he dodged the larger pirates consecutive strikes. Thus covering the voice of Drefney and in that - Leon couldnt hear Drefneys movements so he found himself getting bashed in the gut with the pirates blunt end.

Leon skidded backward. Ow he muttered.

Give up.

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Leon obviously replied. Never!

Drefney chuckled. Give up now and I wont kill you.

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp No! Not on my ship! Leon shouted as he charged.

Drefney smirked as he slid to the side making Leon crash into a pile of crates.

Kids he spat.

Karya had heard Drefney fighting Leon, and assumed her captain was getting beat. With a caution she normally never had in the thick of a battle, the vixen slunk forward, straining her ears to pin-point Drefney's position. Then, once she thought she had it, she ran forward, slamming into the bulk of the pirate captain.

"We ain't no kids, ya shmuck!" Kari shouted, rolling with Drefney. Quickly she got up, wobbling a little...

Clayton, Spaz and Maruque stopped in a clearing. From the clearing they could see their ship under seige from Drefneys ship. Fury was building in Clayton. He knew that Ali was there alone. He shouldn't have let her stay alone. "If anything has happened to her... I won't forgive myself." he thought.

"Thoze bastardz put a hole in my ship!" Spaz shouted. He was about to charge. But was stopped by Clayton. He pulled they two together. And the crouched down. "We can't just run in there. There are only three of us. And we're not sure if Leon and Karya are there. We need a plan of attack." Clayton said. Spaz nodded as well as Marque.

Clayton looked at Marque, "You built that hook that is in the ship right?" he asked. "Yes I did." Marque replied. "Well then you are going to be in charge of figuring out how to get that hook out of the ship with out you actually having to get on the other ship. Spaz you are going to find and free Ali." Clayton said. Spaz looked at him, "Wha are you goin ta do?" Spaz asked.
--------------------
(Five minutes later)

The battle between Drefney, Leon and Karya continued. Drefney clutched both Leon and Karya by there necks. The paralizing effects of his pearl were starting to wear off. Suddenly he released them and clutched his hands in pain. The two dropped to the floor. The started to cough, gasping for air. Drefney looks to his left and sees a blunted ninja star in the the mast.

"I should have realized those were your men we beat up in the forest." a familiar voice said from his right. He jerks his head to the right. His eyes widen. "They stunk of loser. Just like their boss." said a dark figure. Drefneys eyes squinted, "Clayton. So you are here too." he said.

"Why is Damon so interested in the kid?" Clayton asked. Drefney just laughed. "You'll have to ask him yourself, when I take you to him in chains." Drefney said. "Well I guess we're not going to be able to avoid a battle are we?" Clayton asked sarcastically. Drefney shook his head, "No we're not. I think I'll knock out your senses now. How about sight and hearing." Drefney said with a smile. As he said that Clayton's sense were gone. Now having be trained as in many martial arts he learned how to utillize all his senses. So if he lost one or two he could compinsate. Clayton took of his hat and his cloak. The two items landed on the floor. But the cloak was landed with a thud.

(This would the first time Leon, Karya, Ali, Marque or Spaz would have seen Clayton with out the hat over his face.)

Clayton also quickly had removed his boots. He started to use his senses of touch and smell. Clayton could sense movement by the vibrations in the floor. It was a good thing they were on a ship. Any other place would make trying to find them using vibrations like this extremely hard. Drefney attacked Clayton. While the the two engaged in an amazing battle, Spaz and Marque snuck aboard the ship and went to free Ali.

OOC: Right, Im assuming that Supershadow70 is no longer participating in this RP, so his character Spaz is now an NPC, allowed to be controlled by anybody who sees fit to want to.

IC:
The battle aboard the deck of the two ships, the Adrianne and Drefneys ship continued underway. Karya and Leon had newly regained their sight, and were working to take out the smaller and less important pirate forces that seemed to keep coming and coming at them. Their fight was now added with an anger, frustrated by what had happened to them earlier by their lost senses and the fact that these Pirates just wouldnt quit!

Meanwhile, for Clayton and Drefney, their fight which had started on Drefneys ship had now been inching its way to the edge of the ship, with Drefney pushing Clayton back further and further. It seemed he had enough of his own ship being damaged, and so wanted to push the fight towards the Adrianne, and cause more damage on the battlefield at his enemies ship. Clayton, despite his skill, was being forced backwards by the larger and much more powerful overbearing figure, whose large curved sword kept swiping towards him, narrowly missing Claytons head by an inch. Although he martial arts training before, even he could not dispute the fact that a loss of two senses put him at a disadvantage.

Rarh! Youre finished! Drefney shouted, swinging his sword in a swipe at waist height. Clayton dodged it by jumping up and backwards, landing on the very edge of the ship itself. Drefney quickly backed this up by swiping once more at waist height, although this was now at Claytons feet since he was slightly higher up, and Clayton once again deftly dodged it by back flipping out of the way, and off the ship itself!

But he didnt land in the water below. Instead, he landed upon the empty, steel chain of the harpoon which connected the two ships together. Drefney, always one for never giving up, followed him and jumped down onto the chain as well, continually attacking and forcing Clayton back further on their preacarious footing, towards the Adrianne. While Drefney also realised that fighting on such a narrow ground as this could be beneficial to him, it would also be beneficial to Clayton too, so he kept forcing Clayton back towards the Adrianne, a better area to fight for him. Damage to both his enemies and his enemies ship? Result! He kept attacking forwards, pushing Clayton back.

These damn bastards! Ahll make em pay for puttin tha hole in ma ship! Spaz fumed, as he entered the lower deck areas of Drefneys ship, away from the sounds of battle above him and instead looking for any areas suspicious enough that they would hold Ali captive. He much rather preferred being up deck, fighting against them and getting his revenge for what they had done, but still he carried forth on this particular mission.

Cmon, where ah ya, darlin? he spoke aloud, although more to himself, if only to keep his nerves controlled. He turned a corner in the narrow, dark corridors, and found himself in a much larger room that had better lighting. In the end of the room, he could see three Pirates all crowded together, in the corner, their backs to the rest of the room and to Spaz, so they didnt notice him. It was a strange scene, for sure. What tha?

Heh, heh, such a pretty young thing. That hedgehog sure knew who to shack up with! One of the Pirates, an Alsation spoke to the rest of his comrades.

Youre telling me. Im much preferring staying here guarding her then being up on deck fighting whoever else is there.

Thats for sure.

The Pirates all laughed as they continued to look at the figure in-between them, pressed against the corner. She was sitting down on a chair, tied down captive by ropes, Drefneys first prisoner. Ali. Her look easily told that of disgust and anger towards her captives. She was meant to be guarded, but these guys also went to take some sick pleasure out of it. They hadnt done anything to her yet, thankfully, but how long would that last?

Ah, cmon, dear, dont look at us like that. Here, Ill make things all better for ya the first Pirate said, his expression smug as he reached out towards Ali, his hand almost touching the withdrawing Alis mouth

until it suddenly stopped in motion and froze.

Hey, Joel, what are you doing? Cmon, keep going! one of the Pirates next to him said, looking towards Joel and trying to encourage him. But Joels expression was locked in a surprised and disbelieving expression. He wasnt moving. Hey, Joel, what are ya? Both of them stopped completely as they looked to Joels chest, which seemed to be moving. Something was poking forwards, and kept doing so until it ripped the Alsatians top, and revealed exactly what it was. A metal blade a sword.

What the heck! The two other pirates shouted as they backed off, and saw what had really happened to Joel. Behind them, was another figure, Spaz. And that Bats hand was extended out, holding a sword, which stabbed right through Joels body, through his back and out his chest. Although the lighting in this room was better then the corridors, it was still not very good, and the rocking of the ship from the fighting outside swung the lamp upwards, creating shadows that danced and moved all about the room. Spazs face was cast into shadow the entire time, giving him a mysterious and menacing look, which even surprised and frightened Ali, who couldnt speak out by being gagged. In fact, even if she wasnt gagged she still wouldnt be able to speak.

W-who are you?! one of the remaining two alive Pirates called out.

Let me tell ya somethin. Ahve had a very bad day today, ysee? Spaz spoke out in a low tone, as he pulled his sword suddenly from Joels body, that let out a spray of blood and finally fell to the ground. Ah met an hyperactive, annoying kid, so first af all ah gotta babysit. Then mah weapons room gets completely bambed and ahve got no personahl weapons left. Then, we come ta this island, and you guys, put a great frigging hole in mah ship!! His tone changed, as his pace quickened by anger. Suddenly, it slowed down as he calmed himself down slightly. And now, ya just kidnap one of mah friends, and plan to do who knows watt a her. Needless tah say, Im a little pissed off.

The two Pirates began to back off, towards their two weapons. They were both standard cutlasses, nothing as impressive as Spazs own large sword, which glinted and fell into darkness through the continually swaying ships lamp.

Mah names Spaz. And you guys picked the wrong day ta mess with me.

Leons anger strangely seemed to grow and grow as he fought. Usually, he was a carefree individual, but something about this moment, this situation really annoyed him and made him angry. All of his punches and kicks seemed to knock back the enemy far, all hitting them in crucial places. But it seemed that for everyone he defeated, two more rose in their place, and in a sense it was true. The Pirates that were exploring the island were all returning to the ship and the fight, after seeing the skirmish happen whilst on the island. It was something that made Leon grow ever more angry. Fighting them just like this wouldnt work. Theyd tire before their enemies were defeated.

And so, Leon used his own Pearl of Wisdom to once again jump. This time, the force of his jump had so much power that it even rocked and smashed the flooring that was beneath him. Not only did Leon have the ability to just jump high, but he also had tremendous power in his feet, enough so that it would crack or even destroy the point of which he had jumped from, depending on his effort within it.

Leon jumped from the deck of the ship towards the mast of Drefneys boat, flipping in midair so that he landed on his feet on the side of the large mast. The cats expression was extremely serious and determined, as he the force within his feet and the power of his Pearl to damage his enemies immensely. He jumped off from the side of the mast, but the sheer force and power of the jump rocked throughout the mast and destroyed it in two! The top half of the mast began to fell after being sperated from the rest of its support towards the main deck of Drefneys ship, and subsequently where all the major fighting was happening. Karya saw the large falling mast in time to avoid it, rolling out of the way, as it crashed into the deck and creating substantial damage to the ship, creating a large crevice within it, splintering parts of the ship, which rocked the ship forwards. Thankfully for the group, a large number of Drefneys pirates were either hit by the mast itself, or fell from the rocking ship, or even got hit by various parts of the rest of the destroyed mast and ship which hit them.

Unfortunately, however, the force which pushed down on the front of the ship and which resulted in it being rocked, also rocked the steel chain of the harpoon between the two ships and which affected Claytons and Drefneys fight. The rocking also affected the inside of Drefneys ship and rocked all parts of it, although for Spaz it didnt matter much. His own fight had been over in seconds, and the room, for when it was lightened by the erratically swinging lamp, was covered in a deep red colour that once belonged inside the three Pirates bodies. Ali was still dumbfounded by the scene which had happened before her, the severe brutality of it, and the way that Spaz himself looked both scary and a demon.

And as for Leon the force that was required to smash the large mast in two also sent him jumping far away uncontrollably, where he landed on the other side of the relatively large island and away from the fight, crashing headfirst into the sandy beach on the other side. Whilst his partners were still busy fighting and experiencing the repercussions of Leons attack, Leon was in fact momentarily stuck in the sand, wiggling his legs uncontrollably and trying to get his head out of the sand. Typical.

OOC: I have a question. Does Drefney need full consentration to keep a persons senses knocked out? What I mean is, if something were the throw off his concentration would the senses he stole return.

(I should have asked this before, but how long after the afflicted person starts to regain their senses does he have to wait before he can use the pearl again? I mean if he has to wait a certain period of time, I'll remember that in the future)

OOC: perfectly

IC: The rocking affected Clayton and Drefneys battle in Clayton's favor. Drefney started to loose his balance. Clayton feeling this in the chains vibration took advantage to the situation. Clayton threw a punch in Drenfey's direction and he was able to connect. The punch landed in Drefneys ship. Drefney now completely lost his balance and fell into the water. Now that Drefney was in the water. That specific battle was done. Clayton leaped forward and landed back on the Adrianne. Kayra rushed to him. Clayton had some injuries and was still effected by Drefneys pearl. Karya put his arm around her shoulder. Karya wanted to ask if he was ok, but remembered that he didn't have his hearing. Clayton turned his head in her direction.

"Karya, I still can't see or hear. But, I know the battle isn't over. But not to fear, I sent a trump card to take care of Drefney's forces." Clayton said. "Tap my shoulder if you understand." She tapped his shoulder. She then looked in the direction of Drefneys ship. As she looked Clayton stood with out her aid. He rolled his shoulders, and you could hear his joints and bones pop and crack.

(Defeated him in two posts, I have my irritations with that but I'll live. Just remember Drefney ain't no weak. Theres a reason he's second in command.)

At that given momment Marque was on the Adrianne just trying to figure out how to get the massive harpoon off of the ship without him getting to the other ship. In momments the hedgehog realized, "It's impossible." he mumbuled as he sighed he heard a loud 'splash'. This caused the hedgehog to turn his head and see Clayton hop back to the ship, but Drefney was already looking for the rope ladder in which he could get back on the ship. "Hrmmm..." he said in mutter as he only nodded. Though Clayton still couldn't see nor hear. At least until a few more minutes would pass.
Marque gritted his teeth, he definiatlly could not get it unhooked from this angle. And he was too afraid to return, but wait.... what if the capitan of the enemy brigrade emerged..... he shivered at the thought. Marque grabbed a pair of goggles on the ground he then flipped the tint on dark.

With that he grabbed a small barrel of gunpowder and made his way for the middle of the chain. By now Drefney had gotten aboard and worst of all see the inventor pull out a quick match and throw it on the barrel's wick before running back to the Addriane.

Drefney snarled as he ran for the barrel and once there put it out with a canteen of water, he grinned in relief.

But before he could do anything more a... firey arrow split and hit the barrel - thus making it implode, breaking the chain and almost making Drefney fall - though the dog was knocked back from the explosion. The dog cursed.

Marque grinned and turned to Al who had been freed. He waved. Clayton smirked as he also went upon the deck.

Alliandra then headed for the rest of the group. "Well geez thanks for staying with the ship with me." she snorted.

But the loud explosion had.... made the capitan's door swing wide open on the enemy ship. And a figure...dark and solemn looked at the Adrianne from a distance.

A grim smirk.

Mah ship! the figure shouted, loud and brash. Whos tha damn idiot who did this to mah ship! Spaz stepped forwards into the light, his breathing loud and ragged, as he showed just how annoyed and angered he was. When ah found the person who done this, ahm gonna tear im a new one!

Ali turned to look back towards Spaz, hesitation on her face. She had rejoined her allies and was glad to see that the chain was now removed, but Spaz although the Bat had saved her, through the sheer brutality of the method was a bit unnerving. In a way though, she could understand and relate. She had been the Captain of a ship once too and knew how it felt to see your ship sustain such damage as that, and then a sudden thought came into her head. Leon claimed to be the Captain of the ship now, even though Spaz hadnt exactly resigned the former position and it was his ship. Did the Bat still think he was the Captain?

Where is Leon, anyway? she asked.

Who knows. Ah think hes probably all the way on tha other side of the island. When he jumped and destroyed tha mast, he went quite a long distance. Karya said, explaining why the enemy ship no longer had a standing mast, and instead why Drefneys ships mast was stuck into the enemy ships deck and why the enemy ship looked so damaged.

He did all that? Ali said, incredulous.

Yep. Karya replied, smiling slightly. Good ta see ya okay, Ali.

Th-thanks. She replied, remembering the brutal situation for herself moments before.

Be careful. Clayton said, interrupting the two. This fights still not over. Drefneys a heck of a lot tougher then we should be giving him credit for. A lot of his forces were taken out by that stunt Leon pulled, but there still are some left, coming back from the mainland island, and those who just managed to avoid the mast hitting the ground.

R-right. He has a sense disabling move. Ali added. Or at least, it seems that way too me. Im sure it was him he disabled my sight. It was why I got captured.

Yeah, we experienced the same thing as well. Karya responded.

A Pearl of Wisdom must be the explanation. Be careful, though, we dont know the limits of the thing. Clayton interjected. We dont know if its limited to only certain senses, or if he can do any of them, or if he could disable all of them at once. And we dont know how long the effects last, either. But I think were all safe in the knowledge that it isnt permanent.

He can do it ta multiple targets as well. He got both me and Leon together. Karya also added.

With a frown, she stood on her tip-toes, straining her neck to see if Leon was alright and returning. No sign. Gritting her teeth, the vixen sighed angrily. Though her captain had done a considerable amount of damage, it had resulted in him being carried away from the battle. Because of their precarious situation, the crew of the Adrianne could not afford to have someone go and find Leon. They could only continue the fighting until Drefney's ship was sunk and hope Leon would have enough sense to hurry back.

Suddenly, Kari shivered. Diverting her attention away from the forest top, she spied a dark, menacing figure stanging eerily still on the enemy ship. With nudge to Clayton's arm, she pointed to the others, waiting for their reactions...

OOC: It depends on a number of things, Wayne. How long in length are the posts going to be, how much events take place in the posts, etc. It can't be simply determined by number of posts, as you could have like 20 short posts that don't take up around 6 minutes, or 1 huge post that could easily encompass that time.

It's up to your disgression and how you think works best.

Clayton had a feeling in his gut that Drefney was back for some more. Now the effects of the pearl were starting to were off a bit.All Clayton could see were blobs where people were and blurs for everything else. As for his hearing, he could maybe hear things that were next to his ear although he still wouldn't be able to make out words or what the sound was. Clayton reached into his belt. Being as quick as possible, Clayton flung small gas pellets towards the blob Karya had turned him towards. The pellets explode releasing smoke clouds.

Clayton lowered his head. "Alright, Karya I still can't really see and can't really hear. So with your fingers, tap my arm and tell me how long he'll be incapacitaed if you use your pearl. I will assume the taps represent minutes." Clayton said under his breathe.

Karya hesitated a moment before tapping Clayton's arm five times. Five times for five minutes. That was as long as her pearl would allow without doing any damage to the vixen herself.

Clayton nodded his head to signify he understood. "Ali, when the smoke starts to clear tap your heal hard against the floor. Now Karya on my mark use your pearl." Clayton said under his breathe.

As the smoke clear, Ali proceeded to tap hard against the floor. Clayton grinned, "Now!" Clayton yelled. With that Karya used her pearl to freeze their opponet.

OOC: I am really sparse on time, so guys -- I'd like Pach to control my characters in full. Drefney, Ali, Marque...y'know them. But something to point out, Drefney would come back for more and all - just while Im gone don't kill him or anything. I'll come up with a quick post. And what is with this healing shard? Ali never had such a thing.

IC:

Drefney snarled as the pearl began to afflict him. He stopped in place, and thus he was froze.

Marque blinked. "Just throw him off tha ship so we can escape! Its only a matter of time his 'boss' emerges from the enemy ship."

Clayton quickly turned his head in the direction that Marques voice came from. A look of shock was on his face. "Is Damon here?!" he thought. Clayton turned completely to the direction that Marques voice came from. "Marque, which boss do you mean?" Clayton asked. He knew he had to be sure it was Damon before planning his next move.

OOC: Well, Im not sure if Mike did plan at all for it to be Damon or not, but I think it would be much more interesting if we go with yet another person, keeping the possibilities open for later still.

And Ive got no prob with controlling Mikes chars. Ill be glad to have you back when things cool down. :)

And, uh, a healing shard? I dont remember one being mentioned was there? >>;;

IC:
Darn kids! Ill make sure they pay for this! Ill rip out their throats and then quarter their bodies and

THOOM

oh, no.

Drefneys thoughts suddenly shifted from plotting his revenge as soon as the effects of his sudden froze to something else that was now affecting the whole of the enemy ship. It was a large sound, a rumble, and with every sound the ship visibly shook. Drefney began to become more and more worried with this he was frozen. And if it meant he was coming out, however would he be able to explain it to his boss? No, no, no, this was not good at all.

However it also meant a heck of a lot of trouble for them, too. Maybe this situation could be salvaged, after all.

No! Hes coming up now! Marque shouted, winching, as his body shifted to one of that who was standing their ground, although in all honesty, he knew it would hardly make a difference.

Claytons sense of hearing was returning although his sight was still impaired. His head turned and shifted to try and better hear the loud, booming noises, as his own feet felt the vibrations that passed from the enemy ship, to the sea, and then to the Adrianne itself.

Spaz stood around, looking at the various unconscious pirates and the damaged ship. It was a start, but he still demanded payback for what they had done to his ship. He spotted the still Drefney, and understood that he must have been the leader. The booming sounds and the rocking of the ship he stood on had no effect on the enraged Bat. He had, after all, not noticed it, until it was too late.

Spaz raised his large sword and began walking towards Drefney, prepared to attack and make the man suffer. Before the arc of his swing could find its mark on Drefneys back, the enemy ship was quite virtually almost torn apart. The entrance towards the deck was completely destroyed as a great hulking figure smashed through it onto the deck, a silhouetted figure whose features were hard to immediately discern. Everything at this point seemed to slow to a crawl, as the figure moved quickly despite its tremendous size and its arm became a blur, moving towards Spaz, and before the bat could react, he was grabbed and pulled away from Drefney, his sword dropping in the meantime. Spaz was brought up, towards the unbearably large figure as he stared into his face, and the realization of what the thundering sound was suddenly became clear.

W-what the heck?! Spaz shouted out. Who in tha world ah ya?!

The figure stopped and stared at Spaz with its cold, illuminated eyes. It moved slowly forward, still clutching Spaz in its huge hands, and tightening slightly, making Spaz writhe in pain.

What in the world is that? Ali asked, great concern rising over her face. A monster?

Hes Drefneys boss. Marque grimly replied. A fearsome warrior known across the seas. Kran.

Kran?! Ali shouted back. But he hasnt been heard from in 2 years!

Of course. Hes been sleeping. This fighting has only served to awaken him. Marque explained. Were in terrible trouble. Kran, he hes virtually invincible.

Nuts ta that. No ones invincible, and anything can be defeated. Even a large something like him. What the heck is he? Karya chirped in, as the group tried to work out what the large black shape before them was. The figure was silhouetted greatly, as the sunshine was blocked by large grey clouds above them.

RARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH! The beast roared, and that alone shuddered both ships. It was then that everyone could discern that its mouth was in fact a beak. Its arms both suddenly swept out either side of him, (Spaz being carried along in one of the hands and being dazed by it), and its great long wings could at last be seen, casting an even greater, terrible shadow over both boats.

Who dares awaken me, and destroy my ship!? The beast roared. It shifted its gaze to Spaz and frowned. Was it you?!

Ugh, are you kidding me? Youre the guys tha trashed mah ship! Spaz shot back.

Khan stared at Spaz intently, and then boomed a low laugh. Ha ha. Such small creatures and their arrogance! Khans arm became a blur again and a second later was at his side, his hand now empty. Spaz had been thrown to the edge of the island where he landed in the sea.

KAW! Khan boomed, and then his wings began to beat and flap, pushing himself off of the ground, and causing a wind draft that almost pushed Clayton, Karya, Ali and Marque over. A second later, Khan was in the air, flying over the two boats in a circle. He was staring at the Adrianne and specifically the four Pirates.

KAW! You dont look familiar. You must be the ones that did this! Khan shouted. Before anyone could protest he suddenly stopped flapping above the Adrianne and began falling down, ready to crash into and destroy the Adrianne.

First of all, she had not intended to be dragged along on such a ridiculous quest. Second, she had not expected an enemy ship, though she should have, and the many threats it brought with it. And third, she certainly had not expected this....this creature! Khan was something she had only met in her nightmares as a little child.

And now they were being attacked by this monster.

Karya's first reaction was to stare, dumbfounded and wary at the beast as he prepared to torpedo their ship. Two seconds later, however, she jerked her head around, shouting out to her crewmates.

"We gaht to get outta heeah mates! NOW!!" And with that, everyone began scrambling away from the center of the Adrianne. Marque, being sensible as he was, grabbed Clayton's arm and ran, dragging the fox with him.

Together, the four of them dove over the side of the ship, and Kari thanked their lucky stars that the waters in these parts were very warm. Many loud splintering sounds were heard, along with various crunches, cracks, crashes and other such unpleasant noises...

Clayton felt someone grab his arm. He was dragged to the edge of the boat. The next thing he knew he was falling. He knew that they would hit water in a sec. He took in a deep breathe and then was in the water.

Marque was able to hold onto Clayton's arm. Both of them re-surfaced gasping for air. Marque lead Clayton to the shore, along with the others whom had also leaped overboard. They all reach the shore. Clayton cracks his neck and tries to look around. His vision was returning but he still couldn't see to far ahead of him. Staggering to his feet Clayton turned to where he thought the others were. "Alright everyone, we have to get into the forest for cover. We'll be able to hide." Clayton said. Karya went over to Clayton and took one of his arms.

"We can't retreat." Spaz said. Wanting more than ever to avenge his ship. Ali turned to him. "Listen, we have to re-group. We will surely die if we try to fight in our condition. Lets go." she said.

OOC: I've been a bit busy and currently uninspired at the moment, plus it's a real pain that only three of us are really doing it anymore. I shall try to come up with something soon, but I'm not sure. =/
