OOC: I apologize deeply for my delay in posting. It is hard to get online around this time of year, and used most of that time to post my brother, Tergonaut's, letter to the forum in the main area. However, I will be back in business in a week or two, and so I wish you well, and will get off my keister very soon.

Dragon Mountain:
The youngster smiled and nodded as Kouji explained his friend's odd behavior.
"Okay," it said amiably, accepting that there was more here than could be easily explained, and letting it go at that. "You here to stay, or are you guests? We don't get many guests. Not since these Overlanders tried to force their way up here, and then this group of mean furries tried to get here too. My mother said that they tried to do this 'cause they wanted our food; the furries I mean. She didn't know why the humans were trying to hurt us. Do you know?"

The Underground:
Tails looked around, his dimly glowing red eyes picking out every detail and recording it with mechanical efficiency. He found this a disconcerting feeling, but had mostly gotten used to it at this point. He glanced at Zyke next to him as they walked down into the depths and was about to say something, but then blinked as the tunnel suddenly opened up into light.
"Incredible," said the metal kitsune, his eyes polarizing rapidly to adjust to the change in lighting. "It's an underground city."
The Underground was built on a stair-stepped arrangement, each tier of the vast cavern holding numerous houses and buildings of all sorts. Looking up, Tails could see that massive metal gates had been set up on top of the entry caverns, and could be dropped at a moment's notice if needed for defense. While there didn't seem to be many people around, the Underground was probably big enough to house a population half the size of Mobotropolis.
"The Underground," said Griff. "This was supposed to be the last safe haven, when all others fell. Uncle Chuck designed it after the war with Robotnik, to prevent another catastrophe, or at least to lessen its impact. This place is meant as the last hope of our people. I shox it to you, so that you can understand what it is that we are trying to do."

Both Kouji and Natha looked a little uneasy at the question.

"I'm afraid we don't, Trayz," Kouji sighed. He wished he did, because if he did he would've been able to stop Sato much, much earlier, but now all Kouji could do to remedy this was to fight his Commander head-on with the Mobians. And he knew Commander Sato well enough to know that once he had declared war on the Mobians, Sato Ichiru will not stop until every Mobian in this world is defeated. "All I know is that those who are doing this are wrong, and there are still some of us who know that. You can believe us."

"...You said Overlanders tried to force their way up the mountain?" Natha suddenly asked, changing the subject; she was kneeling behind Kouji, fiddling with something that looked like a radio or transceiver, standard Saucer Circle-issue. Kouji decided not to ask where Natha got that. "Trayz, how long ago was that?"

Kouji turned and blinked. "Natha, why's that important?"

Natha's serious look, however, got the boy thinking anyway: "Because I think it's already started, Kouji. Sato's moving out, and he's gone ahead with the operation behind this entire mess."

"...Operation?"

"Mmm hmm. Operation, Kouji, which had been finalized after you left Saucer Circle, so you wouldn't know about it." Natha looked up, with a grim look in her eyes, and Kouji couldn't help but shudder. "The invasion is starting. Project Inglessa has already begun."

She hugged the triplets close as she drifted off into a troubled sleep. Can't let them be...hurt..by these...people...Zzzzzz...

Trayz cocked her head a little at the way Natha asked her question, and craned her neck a little to get a better view of the box the Overlander woman was holding, but seemed perfectly willing to answer.
"The Overlanders came here about three weeks ago, with guns and ships and tanks and suff. There were lots of loud explosions, and some of my mother's friends got hurt really bad. My mother says that they'll be all right now, but we were all really worried for a while. But then Queen Dulcy got really mad, and started puffing up her chest with dragonbreath, and the next thing I knew, there was this really huge wind, and the Overlanders were all covered in ice, along with most of the side of the mountain. Then some of the others with dragonbreath started breathing fire on the Overlanders, and made them run away before they got hurt. They didn't have anybody named Sato with them, so I don't know who he is. My mother says that they didn't have a single leader, just orders and some underleaders to carry them out and keep the other Overlanders fulfilling those orders. Because there wasn't any one leader, we had to drive off everybody, rather than just messing with one person. Queen Dulcy got laryngitis after that, and had to stay in bed for almost two whole days to get over the chill from her breath." Trayz blinked at Natha curiously, then smiled. "Did that help any? I tried to tell you everything I knew."

"Very much," Natha frowned, and put the radio away as she raised her Sniper Rifle again, priming it. Kouji shuddered. Natha obviously had to see this and had something on her mind. "Trayz, did any of you have an idea what the Overlanders wanted on Dragon Mountain? Did any of the adults hear what they wanted? And what did you do with the bodies of those Queen Dulcy got?"

"What's on your mind, Natha?" Kouji asked, blinking. His raising his own Beam Broadsword was more out of habit than any real need at the moment. But he suddenly had a feeling he'll need it --- at least, Kouji sighed in relief, his wounds had all recovered by now. "Where are you going?"

"I'm gonna go take a look where those Overlanders attacked, man. I don't like this crap where it's goin' --- mainly, I wanted to find some clues as to what the Overlanders were looking for, if anything. Come on, Kouji, let's go check it out." With that, before Natha could be stopped, she walked away towards the direction of the attack, and Kouji could only blink at her quizzically. With a shrug, he sheepishly grinned at Trayz.

"Be good, okay, Trayz? We'll be right back. We'll just check something out for a bit."

...I hope.

Zyke had seen many strange things since the robots had returned, and had thought he was used to them. However, the Underground blew him away. He could hardly believe his eyes...optic sensors. It was an amazing achievement of design and craftsmanship.
"You're telling me that there's been a city here since the last war? Amazing. That Chuck guy must have been quite an architect to come up with something like this"
Tails nodded in agreement. "Amongst other things" he added.
"Could you excuse us for a moment? 'Bot talk" Zyke told Griff, leading Tails away from the group.
"Well?" he asked, once he thought they were out of hearing range. "What do you reckon? Should you take up their offer?"
"What do you think?" asked Tails.
"Hey, I'm up for it if you are" Zyke smirked.

The weapon made its way to Eggrobo Prime's ship, as it had been ordered. It stuck moistly to the shadows, avoiding contact with anything in its way. Although it could easily take out whatever it went up against, it was wiser not waste any energy. If it was correct, it would have to save all of that for when it went up against the Mobians.
Mobians. They puzzled the weapon. Not because it didn't know what they were, but because whenever they were mentioned it felt something in its CPU. A feeling of recognition.
It was being foolish of course. It had only been built but a short time ago. How could it recognise anything it had not already met? Such feelings were undeserving of the weapon that he was.
There was something else that troubled him. For reasons unknown it felt something whenever it referred to itself as a weapon. As if something had been lost.
That too was ridiculous. He had to stop thinking such things. It would only hinder him against the Mob...against his enemies.
The weapon stopped. Something in its last thought had troubled him. It had referred to itself as 'he', as if it had an indentity. This was unexpected, and unwanted. It would have to report this to Prime as soon as possible. No doubt He would fix it. Then it would recieve a new arsenal and be taken to the battlefield, where it would destroy all enemies of Eggrobo Prime. As was its function.

OOC: If you, Cybaster, wish to pursue this course, should I make something up, or do you already got something in mind as to the desires of the Overlanders in attacking Dragon Mountain?

Oh, and Violet: Queen Sally can talk to Dulcy anytime she wants.

IC: Trayz blinked at Natha's question.
"Well, not really, no," she admitted. "They don't tell me stuff most of the time. I had to eavesdrop to get a good part of what I do know. I did hear something, though . . . something about 'roboticizers.' But I don't know what that meant. We buried the dead in a big cave over that way," and she pointed, "and then put a big boulder over the entrance. It's fused shut with dragonbreath, though, so you'll have some trouble getting it open."

(Depends. I have an idea of what to conjure up, but if you want you can do so anyway. ^_^ )

"Well, we'll see about that first, and if we can't open it up we'll come back and ask someone. Oh, and Trayz?" Natha grinned as she began dragging Kouji away, looking at her watch. "If you hear any loud explosions within the next hour or so from that direction, assume it's us so don't worry about it, mmkay?"

Eggrobo Prime emerged from the armoury, an 'Arsenal' held tightly in his grip. He had taken special care in designing this one so that it was the same size and weight as the one the weapon already had, but all of the weapons it contained were different. This one contained a beam sword, a liquid nitrogen emitter, a grappling hook, an energy whip and shrapnel blasts. It also contained a little secret that would be used if all else failed. Prime knew to stick to his new belief: Always have a backup plan.
This also explained why he had left instructions for his robots to join his attack when he gave the signal. Although he had supreme confidence in his weapon, he also had experience in dealing with Mobians. Somehow, they always seemed capable of turning the tide. Even so, he would have liked to see them try to stand against the full might of his robot army, which was increasing even now.
It was also why he had created those...back up files. But they were only for the very worst case scenario, and he strongly believed that it would never happen. But you could never be too careful.
Eggrobo accesed his main computer via a built-in remote link, and made it run the program that would take care of the place during his absence. In the event that anything should happen, the computer would notfy him immediately whilst simultaneously activating security countermeasures. He still had those renegade robots to consider.
But right now, he had time to focus on the Mobians.
As he walked towards his ship, he wondered if he should take some back up robots with him. If the weapon fell in battle before his robot army could make it, he'd be left defenseless against his enemies. But then Prime smiled. Hi caution was beginning to make him underestimate himself. If that possibility should indeed occur, he could easily look after himself. Especially after the upgrades he was about to make.
Eggrobo arrived at his ship, where he found the weapon waiting. Excellent. He gave the Arsenal to the weapon and told it to recharge. He then entered the cockpit and set the destination coordinates. Once this was done, he entered the back of the ship and lay on a metal table. His robotic mechanics took this as their cue to begin upgrading their leader.
The ship rose into the air and set off into the sky. The assault was about to begin.

As Eggrobo's mighty airship flew towards the known location of the Mobians, the mechanics he had set to improve him continued their work. One of the drones was removing Prime's left fist, whilst another was attaching a long nozzle to a lead canister, which had been inserted into Prime's back.
In the recharging chamber, the weapon was getting a complete tune up. Automated hands attached the new Arsenal to his free arm, and a solar-powered cell was being added to act as a back up power supply should it ever run out of energy during a battle.
The weapon's head was pointed down, but there was some force trying desperately to lift it up. It was not obvious, as the head had become heavy due to the augments Eggrobo had put on it, but a close look would tell that there was some slight movement, as if someone was trying to regain control.
All it took was a slight electrical impulse through the circuitry attached to the brain, and the force was extinguished. Prime had anticipated something like this happening a long time ago when he had started making the weapon. Should any other unwanted interferences occur, they would be wiped out just as easily.
Most of the weapon's outer appearance was organic. Prime had worked on the insides mostly, replacing bone with metal and heart and lungs with power cells. However the flesh was still there, rotting in some places but still recognisable. This had been very important to Prime, and was one of the weapon's key features. It allowed it to fight on a psychological level as well as physical.
The airship went onwards to Dragon Mountain. Prime and the weapon would be brought back online a few minutes before arrival, giving Eggrobo time to test his upgrades and the weapon a chance to ready itself for combat. No matter what the outcome of today's battle, Prime would leave with a smile.

Karish, one of the dragons keeping watch over Dragon Mountain, heard a loud buzzing coming from afar. She swung around from her flight path, and turned to its direction. She couldn't work out quite what it was that was approaching, but it looked like some sort of ship. Thinking it might be dangerous, she flew towards it with speed.
As she got closer, she could make out more detail. It was a ship, a sort of long cuboid curved at the front. Looking through the windshield, she couldn't see anyone at the controls. Puzzled, Karish flew faster, trying to work out who was approaching, and if they were friend or foe.
She soon found out the answer. A hatch opened on the roof, and out stepped a robot. A robot she recognised. Frightened, she quickly turned and flew back to the Mountain. She had to tell the others and soon, before it was too late.
Lazer blasts flew past Karish, causing her to sway a little, but she was not harmed. They were warning shots most likely, meant to tell her of the oncoming danger. Or were they just for the fun of watching her retreat?
For Eggrobo Prime, it was a bit of both. Now that he had been upgraded, he was feeling more evil than ever. He could have vaporised the dragon had he wished, but no. He wanted them to know about his arrival. He wanted to show them that he was not afraid. And besides, this could be the last time he went into battle. He wanted it to be dramatic.
Positioning himself at the front of the ship, he felt something swelling inside him. Unable to contain it, he allowed himself to burst out with cruel laughter. It was a good day to be evil.
