"Don't be silly my lord Midnight of course you are." he paused, his features taking on a more serious look. "The Keng, they are a race that worships a false god, and tries to force their beliefs on others, who just want to live in peace."
"The Keng are dangerous and not to be taken lightly by those new to the vicinity." Shalu said shooting a glare at Midnight.
Midnight nodded slowly, filing away that knowledge for future reference.
"If the Keng do intend to cause harm to you and your people, I will do my best to protect you."
He glanced over at Shalu and locked gazes with her for an instant before turning back to the elder.
"But in the meantime, what am I and my companions to do? We are strangers here, and are from the distant past."
Craig stepped forward from behind the echidna and looked at the old beaver, giving the rodent an strange look upon his conclusion to who Midnight was. Though he seemed wise his answers would leave most to believe he was a raving old lunatic who had gone of his medication
"Bah, it's all taken care of. You can stay here and we'll teach you what you need to know. We'll build you places to stay, until then we will find you proper accamadations."
"Puh... and you talk about the Keng worshiping a false god..." Shalu said as she left.
"Pay no heed to her words my lord, Shalu is very critical of strangers, don't worry just give her some time and she'll warm up to you."
"She hasn't warmed up to us yet, i'd hate to see her actually being nice." Tylor mumbled.
"I don't blame her...", Midnight mumbled under his breath.
So far, Shalu seemed to be the only person in the village with the brains to question his "divine origins", and he respected her for it. Being declared some sort of emissary of the gods made him very uncomfortable...but then again, for a stranger to the world and from a thousand years in the past, being worshipped as some sort of lord was an awfully convenient position to be in.
"That is extremely generous of you, elder, and I appreciate it. Thank you. Now..if you'll excuse me.."
Midnight turned and walked out of the hut.
"Shalu! Wait..."
Shalu didn't stop and continued on. "What do you want now?" she said walking back toward the Healers hut. Her tail was twitching annoyidly.
Elder Korgis looked over at the boy. "Ah and who is this youngling?" He asked looking up at Tylor.
"I think i hear the girl we were with call him Craig?" Tylor said looking down at the boy for some sort of sign that he was right in his assumption.
Midnight sighed and sped up, jogging past her and stopping in front of her.
"I want to say that I'm sorry. I didn't mean to discredit you in front of your elder, and I certainly didn't plan on becoming an object of worship around here."
"Yeah... well word goes around fast around here." Looks past him at the growing crowd of people with offerings for their new Echidna Deity.
"Oh...great."
Midnight wasn't sure if he should be pleased or deeply disturbed by this development. He looked over the growing crowd, unsure of how to react.
The fox stumbled back into view. Plain tan pants and a sky blue t-shirt seemed much less threatening than the bloodied black garb he'd been wearing. The fox looked around and stopped on the cub, "So... Where am I?"
IC:
Seana was uncertain of what to do, she felt lost and alon, which was silly really, with the others and all. She had dawdle a little too much and lost the others, so she had back tracked to the healers hut. Now she heard the voice of the fox, and she peered in, he wore clean clothing now and was questioning the cub.
She turned to see the others returning, she raised an eyebrow at the sight of people bearing gifts, seemingly eading for Midnight.
"Ur...would anyone like to explain things? Sorry but I kind of missed the meeting with the Elder."
TBC
Craig looked at Seana thoughtfuly for a few moments. Wondering if he should answer the question. Well she understood me the first time... He thought bat to the moment she had asked him his name. <Apparently he is a gift from god...> The kit used sign language once more, making sure to go slower since speaking people usuallycouldn't read the hand gestures as fast as some one like him.
Jak looked up at the really tall fox and smiled. "Your in the village of the Sabine tribe, that's us. My name is Jak and it's nice to meet you uh..." he stopped for a moment thinking about something. "What should we call you if you don't remember your name?"
The fox looked down, "I don't know."
IC:
Seana noticed Craig's hand signals again, she paid close attention.
"He's a gift from God? Huh? Why would they think that?" She looked at Midnight, he was just an Echidna, but then again, she'd over heard that echidnas were myths, so maybe that explained it.
"Is it because he's an echidna?"

OOC: Hey is Craig using sign language like death people or is he making it up? I'm guessing it's sign language for the death.
OOC: I'm not sure. Do dead people have their own version of sign language? heh well any how Yes He is using the very same hand gestures used my mutes and deaf people.
Craig smiled thankful that one person atleast understood his hand gestures and nodded to her response. The young feline then looked over at midnight before returning his gaze upon Seana and shruged in response to her question.
<Grown ups are a very fickled bunch to try and figure out.>
OCC: Okay, thanks.
IC:
Seana nodded in agreement, thankful to have someone to talk to, it was fortunate her sister had been death really, having to learn sign language to talk to her or understand what she was saying was useful.
"What do you think will happen to us?"
TBC
<I have no clue.>
Craig replied with few more movements from his hands. He then looked around.
<It's not like they have foster care... right?>
ooc: im a little confused here, is craig at the healers hut or at the main hut at least 37 steps away from the healers hut? cuz he was at the healers hut and then bam! he was at the main hut and now he's back at the healers hut again without even walking the catwalks. Tylor is with the Elder at the main hut, Shalu and Midnight are somewhere inbetween the two huts, and everyone else is at the healers hut, pick a spot. this instant teleportation thing is confusing me and im sure im not the only one. if you move your char somewhere else post him actually walking there or running or following someone not just appear behind someone.
IC:
Jak thought for a moment. "We should come up with something to call you. I don't think it would be very polite to just call you "Hey you" if you know what i mean." He said sounding quite mature for his age.
----------------------
The crowd came closer as they held up offering to him. some had food others had fine hand woven cloth. Soon they had him surrounded and Shalu rolled her eyes and walked in the other direction.
"Please keep my son safe on the hunt." an older female cat said.
"Bless my house with prosperity." a male deer said before everyone started talking to where he couldn't keep up or even understand.
Midnight felt increasingly uneasy as the crowd of worshippers closed in around him. He didn't like large crowds of people, and he really didn't like a crowd of people forming around him in particular. Requests for blessings came too fast for him to respond to. Gifts were accumulating fast. He wanted to kindly refuse them, but they came too fast, so he just piled them up next to him. Becoming increasingly frustrated and nervous, the echidna finally snapped out at them.
"Back off!", he shouted at the group, causing them all to freeze in surprise.
"All I want is a hut to sleep in, some food, and a few minor items. Some clothing and weapons. That's all."
The crowd backed away and immediatly bowed. "We didn't mean to anger you lord please don't smite us." one said.
"You can rest at my place, we have plenty of room." another said.
"Your place is way to small, come to my house you'll be more comfortable there."
"Now i don't think he'll be comfortable there either." the crowd began to argue.
"I think i can solve this..." Came the familiar voice of the Elder. Followed by the confused Tylor they made their way through the ring of people. "Now he can stay at the main hut. There's plenty of room there." The people nodded and agreed with the old Beaver.
OOC: sry i fixed my post. there's too much stuff bouncing around in my head. o_o
Nexus stared at the others. "People, he can't smite you. He's JUST an echidna. He even threw a rock at my head!"
The mutant hedgehog stomped his feet.
Midnight bowed slightly towards the elder in respect and appretiation.
"Thank you, elder. It is extremely generous of you, and I gratefully accept your offer. If you don't mind, I will go there now."
He started walking towards the hut, paused, and faced the elder again.
"Oh, and do me a favor...if you see her again, tell Shalu that I'm sorry."
The blue echidna continued on his way towards the main hut and walked indoors.
"Of course m'lord." The elder said signaling for some to follow him.
"This is the craziest thing i've ever heard of..." Tylor said scratching his head as the elder walked back by him toward the Main hut.
Midnight entered the main hut and looked around at what appearantly would be his new home...until one of his own was built, of course.
"Hmm...there are a few things I could use, elder. Food, for starters. I could also use some clothing...boots, a belt with pouches and holsters for knives, fingerless gloves, and wrist bracelets, all made out of brown leather. And a bath if you could spare one."
One thing was certain. His exaulted position would make life a whole lot easier in a new world.
The Elder nodded briefly. "Come here and sit." he said motioning toward a very soft looking lounge chair. It had very nice looking cloth drapped over it and there were two pretty ladies on either side with palm fans. "We shall get all of your requests done m'lord."
IC:
"Hmmm...maybe we should follow Midnight, he seems to know what he's doing."

OOC: Sorry its short, I have tonnes of homework.
