"Bleedin' ey?" Gingerbread asked "I don... wai' a minute... I thin' maybe I can do sommit fer ye!* He exlaimed, marvelling in his unusual flash of brilliance. He hadn't thought this clearly since that last, devestating mutany.
Pach pinned his ears toward the wall, as there was a russling of clothes, and the sound of cardboard shifting. What was gingerbread up to?
If he could see in the other cell, he would probably have laughed, as Ginger twisted and contorted, aided by his feline body, to just slightly grasp a box of matches from his packet. Talking as he moved.
"Aye, ye be a good actor, but ye don' need to act to me lad." He said, as he passed a match into his toes, then brought his foot up to his whiskers, the continually smouldering hair setting it alight.
"THS tol' me all abou' it. After all, wa' more proof do I be needin' Wha' captain gets thrown in a dungeon when someone else can take blame?" Captain Gingerbread claimed, ignoring the obvious flaw in his statement, and rolling around to extinguish the full body wrap he had just set on fire. "Anyway, here ye go." He said, passing the wrap, which had been charred and split right up the front, resulting in a bunch of short, burned bandages, through the barred window between the cells.
"Now, if ye excuse me, I havin' ta bathe me chest in tha latrine. ARRRGHGHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
OOC: Okay then, this is like the 6392nd time that Im going to attempt to continue A&W after its died for some time. I want to see this thing to the end, especially after all the awesome hilarity thats gone on before. This rp is too great to die! 😀
So after that hiatus, Im hereby trying to continue this rp. If you still want to continue, then by all means please post. If you dont want to post in A&W anymore, could you still post saying so? I want to confirm just who still wants to keep A&W going.
Thanks, chaps. 😀
IC:
Rubys fathers mansion
11:30pm
The majority of the fighting had stopped. Miraculously, the revolt that had been caused by the Pirates, and which involved the citys impoverished citizens rebelling against the Central Districts far more well off gentry and its militia, had all but come to an end. There were still small scale skirmishes in various areas of the Central District, but for all intents and purposes, it was over.
The militia had won. Despite the poorer peoples superior numbers, the militias overwhelming weaponry and power simply outclassed any chance that the slums would have had in winning. Many of those who came from the slums were killed, some imprisoned, and some simply thrown back into the slums. All of the gates were secured, preventing access to the Central District anymore.
The fight was over.
And the A&W Pirates had overslept, the bastards.
Captain Fishears had told them to reconvene after their rest for 11:00pm. But that apparently wasnt to be the case. Fishears tried his best to wake them all up, but when these bastards went to sleep, they REALLY went to sleep. It was only as THS started to stir awake that the others gradually woke up in a domino effect. (Actually, the group only woke up because of the sleep walking Trudi treading on each of them in turn. Poor sods.)
Yarr, ye lazy lilly livered leprechauns! Fishears shouted. Its time we went aplunderin!
To refresh those of you who probably havent read this in a month, the whole Pirate group who were gathered together were to split into two teams. The A Team comprised of Aiden, Ruby and Fishears himself, whilst the Tx3 Team; THS, Trudi and Tiankai, were to each split up and begin to loot the nearby mansions under cover of darkness. The group sleepily and lazily organised themselves as they got ready to undertake the mission at hand.
Also! For those wondering what the status of our other beautiful crewmembers are;
- Pach and Fishears are in jail trying to make sure they dont get buttsexed.
- Lokki, Deck and Geo are together having madcap fun doing something??? (maybe theyre in prison as well, or looting some mansion or time warping again. Who knows? Not me!)
- Goldstein is captured somewhere else from the jail.
So! Back to the actual story itself. =)
Alright, try te make sure ye can get as much as possible witout bein discovered! The base will be this little mansion here, yarr? Fishears asked. The group all nodded and split off into their smaller groups to commence the looting.
Yarr, ye wench, Fishears spoke aloud, addressing Ruby as their group of three (musnt forget Aidan!) ran towards a cluster of mansions. Which one be good to plunder first?
She dramatically pressed a finger to her chin and drew out a long "hmmmm...." sound.
"Rumor does have it that the bursar of the royal treasury has a nasty habit of letting little bits and pieces slip into his pocket on the way home." she giggled in a cutely cruel way, leading Team A across the land of mansions, smiling widely.
"This is so much fun! This is the best day ever!" she clapped her hands, beaming at Aiden and the ghostly captain's figure.
"Any plans on what we do when we get there?"
OOC: Yeah, I'm still playing. Still struggling to find my footing in the RP though. Comedy will find it's way to me... it will..
it will...
Meanwhile, team T3 (bugger the x) were using the more sneaky method of sticking to the shadows. This was quite hard due to the highly reflective quality of the buildings, but they did their best. After all, they had no psycopathic resident in their team and thus were around 500% more likely to be shot on sight.
Tiankai peered around a corner of the building, her ears bent back as to keep herself as hidden as possible. "Quite a few people patrolling around there" she said quietly to her team-mates. After all, even though the slums were subdued, it made sense to keep the guard up for stragglers. The rest of the team showed their interest in this matter by either yawning (possibly due to their rude awakening) or by excessivly fidgeting.
She ducked back and looked at them. "So where should we go first?"
Trudi looked confused, which wasn't hard for her since it was pretty close to her default expression anyway.
THS actually thought for a while. "Well... I guess we should go for the mansions" he considered. "They should have less defense, so it'll be easier to get in."
"Also, even though there will be less treasure there will be more mansions to take from" Tiankai agreed. "Although we should probably go and take them on at random so we're hard to track"
Trudi watched the two discuss stratergy with a pretty disinterested look on her face. She picked at one of the gems in the wall, but failed to prise it free. They seemed to be pretty well held in.
"Well let's go" Tiankai said finally. "That one there"
She pointed at a mansion a little away from where they currently were. They then started off through the shadows. When they got to their target, they entered via the back door (I guess this particular resident felt the huge walls were good enough defense against robbery and didn't bother locking) and began their pillaging.
OOC: Still here, & still all for keeping A&W going!
IC: Along With Trudi & THS Tiankai prowled hither & thither throughout the mansion, looking for valuables to collect. Though she kept a sharp eye (and ear) open for any hint of danger, she wasn't giving all of her attention to the task at hand. Part of her mind was brooding over the fact that she'd overslept, a very rare occurrence. The trouble was, she knew exactly why it had happened. Ever since her unexpected encounter with feng hui on Gredalst her old nightmares had come back to haunt her. And when she had these nightmares she either woke at the slightest sound, or slept deeply & was unable to wake on her own. She continued to flit from room to room and hoped her nightmares would stop again soon.
Coming into one large reception room, she noticed a particularly valuable looking set of items adorning a mantle shelf over the fireplace and promptly set to work relieving the householder of them. As she took the last one, she noticed something else on the table. It wasn't a priceless work of art, or the masterpiece of a renowned jeweller; it was a newspaper. Picking up the newspaper Tiankai read the headline & nearly dropped it. Scanning the text beneath it, she swiftly went in search of her team-mates.
THS was emerging from a cellar with a particularly expensive looking bottle of rum when Tiankai found him & Trudi had from somewhere gained some exquisite earrings, at least three necklaces, an ugly-looking war club, and was measuring up a silk dress to see if it would fit her.Holding up the newspaper Tiankai told them, "we've made the headlines!"
THS seemed rather flattered by this, whilst Trudi sniffed diapprovingly at the mention of something that needed read & turned back to measuring up the dress. "What's it say?" THS asked, opening the rum to celebrate. "It says we're responsible for causing mayhem in the Cental District," Tiankai informed them, "which is true. It also says that some of us have bounties on our heads & all of us are wanted". "Which members of the crew have bounties?" THS asked eagerly.
"From the descriptions I'd say it's Lokki Geo & Deck," Tiankai answered, "oh and Aidan too".
"What, I still don't have one? That sucks," THS commented.
"That's not all though," Tiankai continued, "according to this three individuals who sound very much like Pach, Gingerbread & Goldstein have been taken prisoner. And apparently we've kidnapped a prince!"
"When did we do that?" THS wanted to know.
"Search me," Tiankai replied, "I'd say we haven't but who knows what some of the others may have got up to when attempting to pillage earlier? I'd have thought taking a prince as plunder was pushing it though". "Speaking of plunder, we'd best take ours & get on to another mansion", THS said. Then, casting a glance at his now half-empty bottle of rum added,, "but not just yet. I'll need another one of these". Ten minutes later THS had re-emerged from the cellar with 5 more bottles, Trudi had grabbed a fancy set of boots & Tiankai had lifted some costly-looking jewels. With a night of looting ahead of them, they left by the way they came and looked for another mansion to raid...
"Well, we get inside, we get some stuff, then we run like hell. It's the old "grab and run like hell" plan." Aidan replied to Ruby.
"Oooooh, that's clever!" she gleamed.
Aidan let out a huff. Seems like he finally got some time away from that airheaded Trudi woman, only to be teamed up with another oblivious and quite dopey woman, was she any better or worse than Trudi? Aidan had a feeling they would soon find out.
"Here!" Ruby pointed and jumped up and down. She was pointing at another big mansion, but this one was adorned with a royal crest, which made it seem quite important.
"Right, let's have a look around, see if there's an opening here somewhere..." Aidan panned to the side wall and walked anti-clockwise around the mansion before returning to the side wall they started at.
"Bah. This thing's locked up pretty tight, can't see...OW!" Aidan was interrupted by Ruby who jumped into him, and continued jumping up and down. "Look up theeeeere!" she bellowed.
Aidan looked up to see a window that was partially open on a latch, seemed like this Ruby lady had some uses. "Okay. I think if I climb this tree, I can unlatch that window and sneak in, then I'll let you two in through the front door."
"What do I get to do?!" Ruby was obviously getting excited by all of this.
"Just...act normal, well, as normal as you can be." Aidan jumped and grabbed a branch with his hand.
"That's boring!" Ruby frowned.
"Yeah well, it's also safe. You two stay there." As soon as Aidan stopped talking, Fishears just floated up to the window.
"Okay now you're just showing off." Aidan frowned at Fishears.
"Nah, jus' proving ya wrong lad." Fishears then disappeared through the window. Aidan pulled a funny look and continued his ascent up through the branches of the tree, while Ruby looked on frowning as Aidan struggled up and taking his time.
"I can climb faster than that..." Ruby murmured.
Eventually, Aidan slided across a branch and managed to grab the window ledge. He unlatched it and slid head first through the window and fell straight on the floor, luckily, he landed on a really nice, soft rug, so the noise was minimal.
"Ow." Aidan muttered under his breath, and stood up to see Fishears smirking. "It's not that funny."
"Yarharhar, when you're dead, you need all the laughs ya can get." Fishears replied.
Aidan shook his head and crept down the exquisite staircase, eyeing up all the treasure adorning the walls. He and Fishears finally unlocked the front door, and Aidan peered outside.
"Ruby!" Aidan whispered. "Where are you?!"
"Here!" Ruby gleamed from behind Aidan. Making him jump around in absolute terror and nearly falling over.
"How the hell did you get in here?!" Aidan gasped, trying to recover.
"Climbed the tree....duuuuuh." She replied.
"I told you to wait while I unlocked the door!"
"I told you: That's boooring."
Aidan had no response to that. He just took another few seconds and catched his breath while Fishears just looked on innocently.
"You could have told me you know." Aidan pointed at Fishears.
"Aye, but tha' ain't no fun. 'Tis interesting to see which one of our fine crew is going to get you killed first."
"Tough choice..." Aidan thought to himelf.
"Well we're in now, so let's see if we can't find the really good stuff..." And with Aidan's sound advice, the trio pondered their next move...
The next mansion happened to be locked. The three paced around the building as discreetly as possible to look for an entry point, but to no avail. Eventually they gave up, as breaking windows and knocking down doors was too noisy to risk. The next house had the same problem, but unlike the last one had a chimney.
Trudi dropped down first, due to the other two's reluctance. The reluctance became apparent during Trudi's decent, however.
The chimney was in use.
Oh come on, Trudi thought to herself This is a new bloody low. Unsuprisingly, as soon as she landed in the flames she dived headfirst onto the rug and started rolling. She was slightly on fire but it was put out quickly
"Oi, put the fire out then!" someone called down the chimney. How they weren't spotted up there even I don't know. Probably due to luck. But anyway Trudi found a bucket of sand next to the hearth (safety first, guys!) and threw it onto the fire, starving it of oxygen and putting it out.
There was a shuffling noise as whoever was next prepared to drop down the chimney. In the meantime, Trudi decided to look around the room.
And found a couple sitting on two luxurious chairs. They were both staring at the sootened and slightly burnt-at-the-edges girl with equal looks of disbelief and horror on their faces. They seemed to be frozen on the spot. Their coffee was pouring all over the place due to shaking hands and cups not being held level.
"Oh dear" Tiankai stated in a unsuprised way. The woman fainted with her sudden appearance. Tiankai stepped forwards and held a small bottle under their noses, including the woman's to make sure she stayed unconcious.
THS finally dropped down, and they picked out some more gems. More valuable jewellry, a couple of vases, and a small but very heavy statue of "The Thinker".
Back in the dungeon
"Arr! That's it, I got it lad! I'll jus' walk through these walls an escape!" Gingerbread exclaimed, a little weezily. This was followed by a thud, and an oof.
"Oh... er. Sorry bout tha' lad, it seems tha' pain of settin' meself on fire caused me ta think I was ole' Ghosty Fishears fer some reason... how you be holdin' up, any plans fer escape?"
"Dude! Those blotters where straight as hell, Lok."
"Why, come again, good chum?"
"I mean... I cant feel my hands. And I have no idea where we are."
"Well, I regret to inform you, good sir, that we happen to be in a prison."
"dude! you're getting the same trip too!?"
"No, you misconstrued my lexicon to an embarrasing extent, indeed. We are actually in a prison. Spiritually, and most important of all, physically."
"Well, f**k."
Lok, Geo, and Deck all stood in a murky room without windows, and seemed to be one or two stories underground. Rusty iron bars blocked the holy trinity from a dimly lit hallway, which a lone guard was patrolling. Opposite their cell was a closet holding all their weapons and various belongings. The other three walls were moldy cinderblocks, and a single pipe stood where a toliet might have once been. There was also a coinstar machine.
"There must be some kind of way out of here," said the joker to the thief.
"Alright, well, no problem mang. I used to be in prison a couple years ago. Was doing some hard time..." The panchod hero stated, while looking upwards and stroking his chin.
"What for?" Questioned Deck, whos' saying it instead of Lokki because he's there man he deserves some lines if I didn't give him any that would be exceedingly rude on my behalf and I'm not going to make people sad like that.
"Statutory rape."
"...What?"
"Life is different behind bars, mang. Every day is a struggle."
"Uh, how old was she?" Deck tried asking him.
"It's primitive, you gotta think sharp and fast."
"Lokki, how old was she?"
"tis my dispelasure to inform you that he never told me."
"... Wait, was it a girl?"
"But I've kept my eyes open back in the cell blocks, my good friends,"
"She was a girl, right, Geo? Or at least human?"
"No time for gossiping, Deck, save that for the ice cream social. Alright, my first plan is pretty simple, and has a guarenteed success rate."
Lok drew a tobacco pipe out of one of his many deep mysterious pockets and puffed a gentleman's puff. "Why, do go on, old trouser leg."
"Alright, look at that guard over there, dude,"
The guard had a stream of tears running down his cheek, made even more apparent by his loud sobbing. He held a picture of a girl in his left hand and a bottle of whiskey in his right as he repeadetly cried why did she leave me, why did she leave me.
"He is clearly very lonely and desperate. This is where you come in, Deck!"
"What do I have to do?"
"Well, you have a very pretty mouth-"
"Go on to the next plan."
Geo gestured over to the coinstar machine, "Little do the guards know, I happened to sneak in 4 dollars. Give me your sock, Decky."
"Why the hell do you need my sock?"
"Dude stop being such a naysayer. Honestly. You're a godamned buzzkill. Just give me the sock."
After an extended agruement between the two best friends forever, the sock was filled with three hundred and seventy five pennies and then tied shut.
"Alright, Lokki, seeing as though you're the only one here who exercises, I'm gonna draw the guard in and you're gonna beat him over the head with the sock full of pennies."
"Dashingly heroic plan, Geo, but just how do you plan to bring that exceptionally depressed guard into our prison cell?"
"Look... When you've been on the force as long as I have, you learn that in order to get th ejob done, you can't play by the book. Unless it's your own book. Which is no book."
The other drew a few lone tears after the viking's inspring speech.
hey guys look i wrote an excellent part which was extremely clever and showed how the team drew in the guard but it magically disapeared so just use your imagination kthx
"Why, thank the gods that this plan worked!" Lokki thanked, as he picked the keys off the knocked out guard's pocket.
Just for good measure, Geo lined the guard's chin on the edge of the toliet pipe and stomped down on the back of the guard's skull with enough force as possible. Yknow. For good measure.
The three pirates triumphantly stepped into the hallway and unlocked the closet with their posessions, whereas Geo decided he did enough thinking for the day and drew out a large spliff from his vest.
OOC: hell no im not gonna appologize for a long post. you should thank me.
OOC: Thank you, Geo.
IC:
The dungeon (bear in mind, this is not the same location where Deck, Geo and Lokki were held. They might be connected, but it isnt like the same room. Cool? Cool.)
Pachs head rolled against the cold, solid and rigid stone wall, as he tried to somehow make his brain hurt less than what it did. The blood loss from his leg had severely wounded him. Although he had somewhat managed to stop it using Gingerbeards poor makeshift bandages, it would take him all that he could not to just die. He so desperately just wanted to close his eyes and rest
But Gingerbeards constant, never-ending stream of what sounded like babble just wouldnt let him. :O
Pach couldnt understand what Gingerbeard had said. He had asked about plans to escape, but Pachs brian couldnt comprehend the question. His eyes constantly shifted around, trying to end the blurriness and find cohesion.
Gingerbeard sighed, it seemed obvious that the great fox captain pretender wouldnt answer. Bloody hell, how were they supposed to be getting out of this fix? A loud rumble came from nearby, which sounded distinctly like the beating of a man over the head with a sock filled with three hundred and seventy five pennies precisely.
Yarr, who be out there? Gingerbeard asked aloud.
Vansted Vale Mansion: The A Team
Aidan and Ruby began to rummage throughout the mansion, trying to find all the most valuable items on offer thatd be worth pinching. They had to make sure they took the finest items available, after all they didnt have room to carry the whole mansion.
Aidan grumbled and sighed slightly as he went about his search, thinking how useless Fishears was, considering he couldnt actually touch anything and therefore carry anything. The work was left to Aidan and Ruby.
He made a good guard, though. Already, he had been standing on watch by an entrance, and when the occupier of the house returned, Fishears had scared them off with his ghostly presence. He was doing something useful.
Hey, whats this? Ruby asked, picking up a strange, gold antique. She looked all over it, examining it. At first, she had thought it was a watch, but that couldnt be. There was all the markings of a watch, but it wasnt actually one: it was like a solid gold object, with a carved inscription of hand markings and hour markings. Nothing moved, it was just how the object was set.
Yarr, what be it that ye found? Fishears said, floating away from the windows to meet Ruby. Ruby flashed the strange gold artefact towards Fishears, and he too inspected it.
At once, his eyes widened in surprise and mild shock and horror, at the realisation of the artefacts actual importance. It was a mark, a sign, a symbol of someones visit
Before Fishears could begin to talk and explain his worries, the door to the mansion was blown inwards. Aidan, Ruby and Fishears all turned to the entrance, gasps of shock and horror on their faces, at a group of spear wielding guards entering the mansion, led by a prominent man with an eyepatch and beard. There was no doubt he was the guards commander, and they must have arrived due to the earlier mansion owners report
Tiankai shifted her ears, listening intently for a moment. Then she turned to the other two & asked them, "did you hear anything?"
"Like what?" THS replied. Tiankai shook her head slightly and said, "if I didn't know better I'd swear a mansion door nearby just got blown in".
"Well, that can't have been the work of our lot, can it?" THS asserted, "we're trying to keep a low-profile after all". Trudi, who had been only half listening asked, "does Ruby know that?"
Both THS & Tiankai turned to stare at Trudi. Coming from her, that was a remarkably relevant question. Then an even scarier question occured to them: was this Ruby's idea of low-profile? "What do you think we should do?" THS asked eventually. "I'm all for selecting another mansion to rob until the noise dies down & then going to see what's happened," Tiankai informed him, adding: "any objections?" Since none were voiced, the trio let themselves out by the back door & selected another mansion. Some minutes later they were stealing through the silent upper floors of the mansion (having entered by an open skylight). As they crept silently along Tiankai noticed a bolted & padlocked door and decided to try picking the lock with her claws. Fifteen minutes later she called to the other two, who came to find her with various items in their hands. Beckoning them to where she stood, she whispered, "take a look".
THS & Trudi gazed, mouths agape, at what lay within the room. It contained neither alcohol nor jewels, but vast amounts of cash in the form of golden coins. If they were indeed to give some of their loot to the poor, then this would probably be the most well-recieved. The trio loaded up. As they were sneaking out through the skylight again, Tiankai's ears went up once more. "I'm sure I can hear a fight going on," she told the other two, "and what's more the sound seems to be coming from where I heard a door being blown in earlier".
"It could just be a skirmish with the slum people," THS suggested. "Or it could be Ruby messing things up," Trudi muttered. "Whichever it is, we should take a look," Tiankai said.
"No need," THS said, "look!" From some nearby part of the Central District shadowy figures were approaching through the streets. "Why go to them when they're coming to us?" THS reasoned, "let's just stay here and see who's passing by..."
Ruby's experession turned into a bright beaming grin of joy upon seeing the guards.
Several of them recognized her and shifted in fear and discomfort but the badass looking commander had them stand their ground.
"Good evening, Richie!" she said in a sickeningly cute voice. "Are you going to give me a workout?"
The commander gave a twisted grin, seemingly pleased with the turn of events.
"You sneaky pirates cannot decieve Richard Higgins the Third." the bearded man with the @#%$ name and the badass beard and eyepatch declared, "those riots were just your cover to loot the central district!"
"...sir. I think they knew that already." a smarmy second in command added, helplfully, "It was their plan afterall."
Aiden, Fishears and Ruby looked amongst eachother, wondering if the guards would actually do anything other than act like fools.
"In the name of our good king, we will arrest you!" declared Richie Higgy.
"Can we just kill them?" pleaded Ruby to Fishears, who she regarded the superior. "Pleeease. I want to cut something!"
