Gaspar sighed as he stood at his vantage point beneath the lamp post at the End of Time. Though Lavos, the Time Devourer, had been destroyed by Serge the evil tides were building up once more; humans in the far future experimented with Time Travel; dimensions were beginning to tear asunder... It was only a matter of time before all became chaos, and the entire time-space continuum collapsed into a singularity... "Hey, old guy!" Spekkio called to Gaspar as he left his own room in the void. "Is there something wrong, Spekkio?" Gasper replied, though he feared he already knew what the Nu was going to say. "I was just thinking, with all this 'end of existance' stuff going on, why don't we call that ki-" "No, Spekkio." "Huh, but why?" "Crono and his friends have done enough. Serge, too. There is little we can do, I'm afraid, unless the Entity itself were to dump heroes on our doorstep." As if his words had been magic; a sound of most awful tearing came from the direction of the now-closed Gate Portals. Running there, Gaspar and Spekkio found...

Hi, and welcome to my first hosted RP. This is Chrono Trigger based, though for continuity we will not be using any characters from CT. Minor characters with hardly any story from CC like Pierre, Turnip, etc are okay, I suppose, as long as they're kept IC and don't contradict anything in the CT-CC timeline. It's highly recommended that you've played CT and CC, but I can guide you if you haven't.

Here's how it works, in Three Easy Steps:

1. Create a character. I would recommend this format:

Name:
Age:
Physical Description:
Personality:
Weapon of Choice:
Element/Innate:
Combat Orientation:
Background:

Now for some explanations. :crazy

Elements can be CT-style Elements(Lightning/Heaven, Fire, Ice, and Shadow) or CC-style Innates (Fire&Magma/Red, Water&Ice/Blue, Earth&Lightning/Yellow, Wind&Plant/Green, Holy&Astral/White, Death&Gravity/Black).

For the purpose of removing confusion, I've seperated Magic and Techs for both of the following groups.

CT-style element users possess powerful natural magic, and can only learn powers of their element. Shadow-style Mages are the exception, as they are proficient(though not masterful) with all natural elements. CT-magic users also gain a number of Techs (physical or support powers unrelated to their element) proportionate to their Combat Orientation(explained later). These warriors are imbued directly with the power of the planet, but while strong, they cannot use anything they haven't or can't learn permanently. CT-style characters may have up to eight techs/elements, but not all at once for obvious reasons =). CT-style characters, unless from the Zeal era, must have their magic unlocked by a Plot Point Of Doom presented by me shortly. Lightning/Heaven element is opposed by Shadow, and Fire and Ice oppose each other.

CC-style characters are a whole different ball-game. In addition to their fighting style, Combat Orientation also determines whether they use a low, medium, or high number of elements(replacing the Grid system with a trust system. :cuckoo ). CC-styl% characters are set with an Innate, but can equip artificially generated Elements(not to be confused with the CT-style element.. Think 'magic bullet') of any kind. Of course, Elements of the character's own innate do more damage, while Elements opposed do less. Elements tend to not be as powerful as CT-style magic, but make up for it with their sheer diversity. Elements must always recharge before you can use them again, unless you have more than one of the same element equipped(it still applies, though). As a character grows more powerful, they can use a higher number of elements, or more powerful elements. I'll leave this up to you, but don't make your characters into uber-gods or anything. CC-style warriors lack the gift of magic, and always have THREE personal Techs, which can be physical or magical based, o2 perform a special effect. Techs must also recharge before they can be used again. CC-Style Elements can also be boosted by the environment(replacing the Field Effect system). Foliage burning nearby can increase the power of Red elements, the dark taint of evil can increase Black, etc.

Combat Orientation is whether you character is a Fighter, a Mage, or Balanced. Pretty simple, eh?

People from Ayla's time can be CT-style characters, but may not learn magic and are considered non-elemental. CC-style primitives can use Elements, though possibly poorly(this type does have an Innate).

2. Choose a time period (or even specific year), location, and dimension. Be sure it matches with your character! Also, think of a small mini-plotline in that area that you can use to introduce your character to us before the real fun begins. For example, if you're a rough punk in Guardia 1002 A.D., you could open with a fight in Leene Square, and your character evading the authorities. Keep in mind that Serge's Home and Another dimensions don't exist until 1010 A.D., but you can have your character come from a completely different dimension if you want. This can open the pathway for alternate RP characters... Try to keep their number low, though. Also, try to have your characters encounter some sort of temporal accident at the end of your sub-plot. Where you end up is decided by me, depending on how late you come to the topic. :spin

3. Start RPing! Have fun! And remember, just relax! If you have any questions or concerns, just post here or PM me.

Also, if you need help with deciding on a location... (Remember, you can choose a specific year, these are guidelines)

65,000,000 B.C.: This is the time of the dinosaurs. Ayla, the Ioka chief, lives in this time period. At one point in the exact year mentioned, Crono and his friends come back and help Ayla destroy the leader of the Reptites(a group of sentient dinosaurs), whose base is then wiped out by the falling meteoric parasite Lavos. Some Reptites DO survive, and make their mark as the extinct people of El Nido called Dragonians.

12,000 B.C.: This is the time of Zeal, the floating Kingdom of Magic. On this year, Crono and friends investigate the Queen's Ocean Palace in hopes of stopping her from awakening Lavos by drawing from the Mammon Machine's power. After their adventure here, Lavos kicks the crap out of Zeal and the ruins fall to Earth. Some Zealians live. All citizens of Zeal can use magic, though many chose to simply sleep their days away or conduct research. Your character can be from before the fall of Zeal, remember. Magus is from this timeline and currently resides there post-fall, looking for his sister.

600 A.D.: 600 years after the Kingdom Of Guardia was founded. Knights and chilvary rule this age. Magus once lived here after being cast from his original time. Guardia just recovered from a war against Magus's Mystic army, which is now thouroughly dispatched thanks to the dissapearance of Magus and his three generals Ozzie, Flea, and Slash. Frog, wielder of the Masamune, resides in this era. Places like Choras and Porre make their start. San Dorino is also a town here, but it disappears in 1000 A.D.

1000 A.D.: Crono, Lucca, and Marle are from here. This is a relatively modern world, minus things like cars, phones, TV, etc. Fridges, Lucca's robots, and possibly indoor lights(they might be gas though) exist in this era. After the events of CT, Crono marries Luc-er, Marle, and they rule the kingdom. In 1005, however, Guardia falls to Porre and the Masamune disappears. Medina, the village of the (now)peace-loving Mystics is here. Melchior lives in this time.

1010-20 A.D.: OMG DIMENSION SPLIT. In Serge's Home World, Porre becomes the dominant factor in El Nido, his home islands. In Another World, the Acacia Dragoons rule El Nido, though Porre has tried to assume control themselves a few times. Another World's El Nido hardly gets rain due to the lack of the Water Dragon, and Water Dragon Isle is a wasteland. The opposite is true of Home. People tend to be controlled by the subliminal messages the Records of Fate implant in their minds in Another World.

1999 A.D. (pre-dimension split): This is when Lavos emerges. No clue what this place is like after the dimension split.

2300 A.D. (pre-dimension split, pre CT): Apocolyptic future caused by Lavos. Humans are dying out as the superior robot race dominates the ruined landscapes. Belthasar died in this time as a crazy cook who put his final memory into a Nu-shaped robot.

2300 A.D. (pre-dimension split, post CT): Bright, Lavos-free future. Again, dunno how the dimension split affected this in CC. It is known that Chronopolis is built in this time, which is eventually thrown back like 10,000 years because of their own stupid selves. Belthasar lives in this time, and is not insane like in the other. Belthasar doesn't stay in this time, though, and even visits 1020 A.D. in his one-seater Neo Epoch.

End of Time: This is the void beyond all time. Gaspar and Spekkio live here. There's not much to see, but this place was vital to Crono and his crew for moving through time safely. This was the place party members would stay when not with the party. Spekkio was a shapeshifter who could grant people the gift of magic, and loved to fight, proclaiming himself the "Master/God of War". Spekkio's shape depends on the strength of the people who see him. Crono and the gang were barely able to beat Spekkio in his most powerful and likely true form: A pink Nu. No one else lives here, but this will be an important place anyway.

Name: Ralion Stormrider
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Tall, with long blond hair and blue eyes, wears a black leather bomber jacket and jeans.
Personality: Quiet and gruff in his manner, he fights for survival, freedom, and the pride of his country.
Weapon of Choice: Crescent Edge (Like a swallow, but with a long, sweeping crescent-shaped blade that goes from one end of the weapon to the other.)
Element/Innate: Black
Combat Orientation: Close-range, balanced fighter.
Background: Born in 1023 on the once-great, war-ravaged continent of Guardia, Ralion grew up parentless as a member of a gang-like rebel group known only as the "Red Eye", comitting guerilla warfare against the occupiers until he was 15, at which point he heard tales of a magical sword of ancient times known as the "Masamune". Some said that it still existed in this world, but that it had been corrupted by the evil heart of a thief who had stolen it.Feeling that he was strong enough to find it and wield it against the corrupt military of Porre for the good of his country, he stole a great deal of money from the gang's leader and recruited a few of his closest comrades, and bought himself a ship, traveling the world in search of the so-called "Ultimate weapon".

===============

Ralion stood on the prow of his ship, the Liberator, looking out over the sea. For the last three days his ship and crew had not seen the light of day, trapped in what seemed to be an endless fog which almost completely blotted out the sun and made the stars invisible, making navigation impossible. "See anything yet?" He barked up to the man in the crow's nest, not hoping for much. The ship hadn't been to land in weeks, and the food supply was running low. The men would all starve, and if not, would be hunted down by the Black Wind like dogs. The thought of a clash with the greatest nation on the planet seemed almost pleasant, however, when compared with the thought of having to battle the ones he had fought alongside for most of his life.
"Nothing Yet, Cap-" the man in the crow's nest began to say,
before letting out a bloodcurdling scream and dropping to the deck, great cauterized slashes burned into his neck and torso. Ralion watched in horror as the rest of his crew began dropping like flies, felled by the same invisible fiery claws. He felt the same burning edge being swept over his own throat before a great light in the direction of the Bow washed over the ship, illuminating for an instant the scene of carnage on the ship before it washed away all conscious thought.

Name: Alferei "Nikita" Talietzin
Age: 22
Gender: Male

Physical Description: Not a very tall man, but his build is perfect for his job. He's of average build, and is 1.65 metres tall. Despite the lack of visible muscle tone, he is actually quite physically strong.

Personality: Calm and cool, and is quite rational and deductive. He also considers as many possibilities about situations as he possibly can.

Weapon of Choice: Mosin-Nagant 1891/30 Sniper Rifle (now comes with 4X scope! XD)

Element/Innate: Blue

Combat Orientation: Long-ranged, accurate, balanced Fighter.

Background:
Born in 1923, he lived in Soviet Russia for all his life as a hunter, learning the trade from his father and grandfather. He knew nothing about the outside world until World War Two, during which he was called to battle at the age of 18. He fought in many of the battles including Stalingrad, where he fought alongside the great Vasily Zaitsev, and learnt many of the skills of the sniper. After the war, he was left without a purpose, and was stationed in Germany.

IC:

Nikita walked through the ruined Reichstag's doors, past his comrades, who were smoking and talking amongst each other. With his Mosin-Nagant rifle in hand, he made sure the safety catch was on so as not to accidentally fire at anyone. This gun was a powerful rifle, and was better than the Germans' Mauser Kar98k - and the Germans knew it.

He looked all around the main hall where the many different parties of Germany had once sat together to discuss issues, only finding rifle ammunition dropped by fallen comrades and careless riflemen. He shrugged and stuffed his pockets and pouches full of them, somehow feeling that he might have to use some of them later.

He moved aside a dirtied flag bearing the swastika, and instantly his world blacked out. He was plunged into darkness, and he felt his feet land on something solid, yet he could see nothing.

"Privyet?" he shouted. He heard no echo, as if there was nothing else in this place. It was no joke - he had disappeared from the Reichstag, and was now in an infinitely dark place! Suddenly, he felt himself falling once again, and now he landed on something out of the 19th century. A cobblestone pavement, he thought as he got up. "Hmm..." The sky was still as dark as before, but at least, now he could see where he stood.

"Is anyone there?" he called out. "Hello?"

You pick CT/CC style with element. o.o White is a CC innate. Lightning/Heaven is Crono's element.

Edit: I think I see why hardly anyone's joined now. XD My instructions are too damn complicated.

Yeah. You can either make your character go CT style with Lightning (which is called Heaven in Japanese... That's why Crono gets Life), or a CC style with White.

Combat orientation is fighter, balanced, or mage. =P

OOC: Yeah, so this is a double post. Sue me. =)

Name: Daizedus
Age: 27
Physical Description: Man with flowing orange hair and dressed in light blue robes. Also wears a small, blue hat.
Personality: Intuitive, smart. Eager to analyze things and learn.
Weapon of Choice: Magic
Element/Innate: CT Fire
Combat Orientation: Mage
Background: Daizedus was a survivor of the fall of the Kingdom of Zeal. Like most of the other survivors, he had been at a loss for what to do. After Dalton's short reign and the destruction of the Blackbird, Daizedus slowly felt the power of magic leaving him, as if its source had simply shut off its connection to him. One day...

"Daizedus! Come look!" Daizedus walked over to where Farleen was kneeling, overlooking a small green sapling. "This tree seedling that was given to me by Melchior... It has sprouted into a very healthy sapling in less than a month! It is amazing... It is as if it has magical properties in itself!" Daizedus smiled and knelt down next to her. "Yes. It seems to be gaining magic just as we are losing it. How ironic... This plant, more an 'earthbound' one than us, coming to possess of such power... If only the labs were still intact, and I could research it! Alas..." Daizedus stood up again, and stroked Farleen's hair. "My darling, I am leaving again today." "For North Cape? What is it you say you found there again?" "I feel... residual magical energy there. I'm certain of it. It's as if a very powerful warlock engaged in battle there!" Daizedus kissed Farleen's lips, and promised, "When I come back today, I promise you... I won't leave your side again." Farleen's eyes sparkled, and she said, "Daize... Does that mean?" Daizedus just smiled, and left.

Standing on North Cape's peak, he felt the ground. "Obviously, a powerful warlock fought a being of equal power here... That is what these energies tell me. But there is no signature left from the possible death of either." He held up a small crystal, one of his only remaining possessions of Zeal, and kept speaking into it. "My conclusion is that the Warlock and the Equal fought here, but neither slew the other. Could this somehow be related to the Prophet, whose powers surpassed our own, or to the travellers who claimed to be from another time? I do not know at this time." He waved his hand over the crystal, and sighed. He couldn't even throw a simple fireball anymore, and could barely keep a flame lit on his thumb. Magic was truly leaving him, but if he could research these residual energies...

All of a sudden, the energy patterns started to shift. "...?!" Daizedus felt the patterns converge into one, and a rift opened... Not a normal rift, but one... "Is this what the Gurus speculated on? A... time gate?" Daizedus smirked. "If I can harness this power, we can live in comfort without the former corruption..." He stepped closer to the gate, but it suddenly drew him in. "What?! N-no! I can't... Farleen!!!!" The rift closed without a trace he had been there.

Gaspar examined the four warriors who appeared before him. "Well, I see that our prayers have certainly been answered, eh Spekkio?" The four, disgruntled, looked up with confusion. Daizedus was the first to respond. "Amazing... I was brought through a rift in the space-time continuum, and ended up here... According to the laws of time space conservation, this must be the point of least spatial resistance...The end of time..." Daizedus gazed on Gaspar, and drew in a breath, shocked. "G-Gaspar... The Guru of Time?! Is that... you, sir?"

Gaspar nodded. "I see you're well, Daizedus. Survived the fall of Zeal, did you?" He turned to face the other three. "Forgive me for the lack of explanations to what you all are doing here, but would you please tell me a bit about yourselves first? I give you my word that you will understand all soon enough."

"My name is Alferei Talietzin," explained the Russian. He was well versed in both Russian and English, and as such, could interchange between the languages, but not without his accent. "I have no idea how the hell I got here. I lifted a Nazi flag, and zoom! I landed here." The disgruntled rifleman continued. "I am a sharpshooter - I never miss." He disengaged the safety mechanism, but kept his finger away from the trigger to prevent accidental firing.

"Very well... Now, how about you?" he asked the next one.

"Some just call me Stormrider. I don't know how I came to be here or who you all are, but have it known that it is not my intention to aid any of you. And if you stand in my way, you'll be cut down." He eyed the Russian's gun suspiciously.
"And no fancy gun is going to stop me, no matter how advanced." He directed his gaze now at Gaspar and Spekkio.

"I'm guessing you two are responsible for this. Who are you, and what do you want with us?"

Gasper adjusted the bowler he was wearing, and sighed. "Very well, Gentlemen. I will try to explain as best as I can."

"First of all, you must know that the lot have you have traveled through time. This is no easy feat, and likely happened for a reason that I'll outline later, so please listen with open minds and ears. You have appeared here, in the End of Time, for a purpose. The world, your world, my world, and all timelines; they are all in danger of simply ceasing to exist. A group of scientists in the year 2300 A.D. are about to conduct an experiment known as the "Counter Time" experiment. Their city, Chronopolis, shall be flung back to the nether regions of time by mistake. This has happened before. But since then, the timeline has changed. Certain factors have been... altered, both due to the timeline changing before, and due to an outside source I cannot identify. The inhabitants of Chronopolis have found a much more powerful energy source than the Frozen Flame they originally used in the experiment. This energy source is nicknamed the Crimson Echo. A crystalization of pure, raw time-space fabric that is normally unsustainable in the physical world."

"My point is... if history is not changed once more, then this Counter Time experiment will have much more dire consequences than it did last time. The Crimson Echo has enough power to rip holes between all dimensions, and will cause chaos. The holes will get bigger, and bigger, and bigger... Until all timelines and dimensions merge. The universe will then balance this chaos by collapsing it into a single, orderly point. We shall all exist as a singularity."

"I am also not the only one who knows of this. It seems a cult called the Servants of One have appeared from an alternate universe. Their goal is to cause this singularity to exist, for all living creatures and all matter to become one, to rule over themselves and all simultaneously. They are dangerous fanatics and have also shown the capacity to time travel of their free will. This is a power deadly beyond anything ever known, though their travel is restricted to certain time periods... Time periods that you shall become familiar with, should you choose to help."

"Now, my friends, I will tell you why you're here. The Entity, a living embodiment of Earth's soul, has the power not to intervene directly, but to cause time rifts to appear in dire times. The Entity has acted before once for humanity, when the parasite Lavos threatened to destroy the future, and against humanity, when Lavos cultivated humanity's greed with the Frozen Flame. I believe the Entity has once again summoned warriors from another time, and perhaps other dimensions, to aid in this. It is your choice to help or not: Fate is not set in stone. However, I beg you all to consider what lies at risk here, even if it sounds too incredible to believe."

Daizedus stared at Gaspar for a moment, then looked down at his feet. "...Incredible is right... But I believe you, sir. I would help, but all of my magic has disappeared..."

Gaspar smiled at Daizedus in such a way to take the researcher aback. "You used magic that was reliant on Lavos before. That is why you lack his power now. My friend Spekkio here can grant those who need it the power of magic."

Daizedus looked at Spekkio, squinting. "You don't mean this little frog here?" Spekkio chortled at this. Daizedus's power had obviously waned, as the frog was the weakest form anyone could ever see.

Gaspar nodded. "Yes. However, there are restrictions on who magic can be given to."

Spekkio nodded. "Yeah! I think our friend with the gun here is from a dimension completely without magic. I couldn't believe it myself, but hey... I bet he could use those Element things, though!"

Gaspar smiled, then turned to the others. "And the rest of you? Once again, I ask you to consider what I say, for it is the truth."

"Elements?" wondered Talietzin aloud. "What might those be?" He mentally shrugged and pointed his rifle to what seemed to be the sky, and he pulled the trigger. An audible click reported that the chamber was empty. He shook his head, and brought it back down to a 60-degree angle.

He pulled the bolt back and grabbed a clip of ammunition from his pouch, and put it in, then pulled out the clip, leaving the bullets inside. He proceeded to slam the bolt in, and pushed it down to lock it in place until he fired.

"Good, now it's loaded..." he muttered as he turned to look at the seemingly hostile 'Stormrider'. Who was this? Why was he dressed so oddly? Why was he here as well?
