OOC:WHOO, Digimon! This RP is set in a world where the only people who know about the Digital World are the ones who have been there before. I'm going back to the awesomeness of Digimon Adventure 1 and 2. It takes place after the X-evolution movie, so X Digimon are okay. As usual the Digital World is in peril and a new generation of Digi-Destined have been chosen. You can use just about any digimon you want to. But they're lowest form must be at least the champion level(example:Leomon). If you can't find a digimon that you want, just make your own. You can keep it simple or go completely overboard, I don't really care. You can use a digivice from any of the series, or make your own! If you have any questions, message me. Hopefully some of them will be answered as the story goes on... if it does at all. Here's a link to the Digimon Wiki if want to use it. AND SO IT BEGINS... with a profile. Note: You do not have to include a profile.

Name:William "Peaches" Balsid
Age:15
Nationality:American
Appearance:Caucasian, dark brown hair down just below shoulders.

Please don't make fun of the name, I couldn't think of anything.

IC:

The figure stood in front of him, laughing. His vision was blurry, he couldn't see who it was that was taunting him. Though he somehow knew that he couldn't do anything. The laughter hung in the air like a thick fog, it was impenetrable by any other sound. The figure's evil cackle slowly faded away, clearing the air of the darkness it held within its horrible tone. The dark figure's voice was like no other he had ever heard. It was robust and refined, haunting yet light-hearted. The words were rough, like steel wool, but they flowed smoothly, like a silken robe. As this unrecognizable fiend spoke, he could feel a surge of pure fear run through his body, "Your attempts amuse me. This will be nothing more than a delay in my plans. There is nothing that can stop me now. But, perhaps this scenario will add a sense of excitement to our little quarrel, as I do get rather bored sometimes. Though you shall not be there to see it. I believe it is time to put an end to your meddling ways. Don't worry though, you haven't outlived all purpose. I'll make sure you're put to good use." At this the figure extended its arm. He felt a sharp pain, his vision darkened, and the last thing he heard was the evil laugh echoing throughout his skull, then nothing...

Peaches awoke in a cold sweat, his back sticking to the inside of his white tank top. The room dimly illuminated by the lamp on the desk in front of him. His mind still clouded from sleep, he squinted at the computer screen. It seemed he had just drifted to dream land for a minute or two. A small tone came from the computer as a new message appeared in the chat room he was currently in with two of his friends. They had continued to type messages while he was "away". He typed quickly not noticing the errors he had made until it was too late.

peaches:Sorry guys, I doezd off. I'll talk to yuo tomorrow.

He exited the browser without waiting for a response. It may have been summer break but, he still needed sleep. He turned the monitor off to make sure it wouldn't bother him while he was sleeping, he rarely shut down the computer. As he reached to turn off the lamp he noticed the words across the top of his mouse, SimaTech. Almost every person in the world knew what that was. They were currently the biggest company in the world, and they made just about every piece of technology that was on the market. Half the things in Peaches' room were made by SimaTech. He shook his head at the thought of the entire world relying on one company for all its technology and flipped the small switch on the base of the lamp.

The entire room slipped into darkness, the only light coming from the window as the moon enveloped him in its eerie glow. Peaches stumbled over to his bed on the other side of the room and proceeded to collapse onto it. He pulled the blanket up to his shoulders and instantly taken to the place in between the normal and the realm of dreams. His mind became fuzzy, his body limp, and he fell into slumber.

It wasn't long before Peaches was awoken by a strange sound. He pulled his face from the pillow, not realizing he had shifted whilst he was sleeping. He peered over at the alarm clock that sat on a small table next to the bed. The small screen was flashing randomly, as if time had been ripped apart. The lamp on the desk was flashing on and off, he thought he still might be dreaming. He removed himself from the bed and grabbed the jeans that were laying on the bed rail. After slipping them on he looked up and noticed that the monitor of his computer was on, random computer code flowed across the screen. Had he been hit with a virus, some sort of worm that was eating away at his computer? He needed to know.

Peaches quickly pulled on the shirt that was also hanging on the bed rail and slipped on his shoes. As he pondered what he should do, an idea hit him like an open palm to the back of the head. He reached under the bed with his foot and pulled out a small box. He knelt down and pulled the top open, revealing the pile of discs contained within. If he told anyone about this they'd probably wouldn't believe him until it happened to someone else. He shuffled through the discs, quickly finding a blank one. If his computer was still worked, he might be able to record the virus onto a disc and find someone to help him. He rushed over to the desk and crouched down to get to the drive. To his relief it opened and he placed the blank disk inside. As it closed he hopped into the chair ready to get rid of whatever might be infecting his computer. But just then he froze, realizing he had no idea what he was doing. He grasped the mouse to try and see what he could do, and he did so he felt something. It was a tingle in his hand, almost like electricity.

He looked down at it to see his entire hand glowing with a bright light. He shouted out in surprise and tried to pull his hand away, but he couldn't move. The light on his hand stretched down his forearm and grew brighter. The entire room seemed to warp around him. The light seemed to react to this growing even brighter, to the point that it blinded him. He could feel his body being pulled forward, being sucked through some unseen hole. The light faded away and all became black. He felt weightless as if he were floating. He looked around, now being able to move again, to try and assess what had happened but, he could see nothing. He opened his mouth to call out yet the only thing that exited his throat was a scream of terror as he began to fall through the emptiness. Almost immediately he struck a surface and was knocked unconscious.

Peaches awoke, his head splitting with pain. He groaned as he pulled his face from the dirt, shifting his feet so that he was in a sitting position. He began to take in his surroundings to try and figure out where he might be. It seemed he was in the middle of a forest, though the trees were like none he had seen before, he could hear water somewhere nearby and random bird calls through the treetops. The undergrowth was thick and there was a portion of them pressed down where he had apparently been laying. The sun high up in the sky, telling him that it was around twelve in the morning.

He stood up and brushed the dirt off his shirt, taking notice that he was wearing it backwards. He quickly pulled in off, turned it around, and put it back on over his tank top, making sure that the flaming skull wasn't on the front anymore. Then suddenly thinking what might of happened, he pulled both shirts up and looked for stitches. He let out a sigh of relief, "Still have my kidneys."

Just then he heard something move behind him. He quickly turned around to see what it was, but it was hidden in the undergrowth. The plants moved slightly as whatever was in them shifted. Peaches stood still, every muscle in his body was as stone. He could hear his heartbeat as it pumped fast with fear. He had no idea where he was, there was no telling what it could be...

Suddenly, the creature leaped out. Peaches yelled in surprise and fell backwards. He lifted his head from the ground and saw what it was. It was a small, wolf like creature. Yet it stood upright and its body was hidden in a tattered cloak. It stood there looking at him with its large puppy eyes. Peaches could only stare, his mouth ajar. He had only seen such things in anime or manga. The creature opened its mouth, and to Peaches' amazement, it spoke. Its voice was that of a child, sweet and innocent. Its tone was that of friendship and curiosity. "Hi. What's your name?", it walked up to him and began walking around him, looking him over. "Wow, I heard about humans but, I've never seen one. Your pretty big. Are all humans this size or are they all different? Where do humans come from anyway? Is it a nice place? Those are some nice clothes. Do all humans where clothes? Can you talk? Cause if you can, you sure do keep to yourself."

Peaches had no idea what to do, his mind blank. The creature stopped next to his head and crouched down low next to his face. The creature's breath was hot on his face. "Are you okay? You don't seem to do much. How are you supposed to save everybody if you don't do anything?" Peaches suddenly snapped back into reality, "Wait a minute. What are you talking about?" The creature stood back up and crossed its arms. "Hey! You didn't even answer any of my questions!"

Peaches sat up turned to face the creature, "Please, bear with me. I have no idea what is going on. I woke up. I'm here. Where am I?" He felt strange talking to whatever this thing was, but if it was the only way to figure out what had happened to him, he needed to take advantage of it. The creature put its arms back at its sides and gave him a questioning look. "Are some kind of stupid human? Have you looked around? Your in the forest." Peaches put his face in his hands, "Oh, god." The creature put its arm around him. "Hey, don't feel bad. Its not your fault your stupid. At least I don't think so."

Peaches stood up, the creature was only a few feet tall, the top of its head level with Peaches' waist. He looked down at the thing with the hope of getting through to it. "I'm not stupid, I just have no idea what happened to me, where exactly I am, or what is going on. I have no idea what you are talking about. As far as I know, it's not my job to save anyone." The creature gave him a puzzled look, "I thought that's what Digi-Destined do." Now it was Peaches' turn to give a puzzled look, "What's a... Digi-Destined?" The creature looked down and saw Peaches' shoes. It crouched down and began to play with the strings, "They're humans who come and save the Digital World." Peaches suddenly felt as if he were somewhere he didn't belong, "Digital Wor... Well, I'm not one of those." The creature stood back up and pointed to Peaches' right hand, "Then why do you have that?"

Peaches looked at his hand saw that he had some sort of glove on. It was black, fingerless, and had some sort of device at the wrist. It came down a bit lower and ended with a large steel ring. "What is this thing?" He began to look it over. The creature reached up and pulled Peaches' hand downward, forcing him to bend down. "It looks like a glove, but this thing in the middle looks a lot like a Digivice."

Peaches pulled his hand away from the creature, "Listen, I have no idea what your talking about." The creature face burst with excitement. "Of course, you must be a new Digi-Destined!", He grabbed Peaches' hand pulled him forward, "Come on I'll tell you everything!"

Peaches followed on, not knowing what he had just got involved in.

( When I'm not half awake I'll write a decent post. The RP will need some more structuring but damn, I haven't RPed digimon in well over 2 years. End OOC. )

OOC:
Looks good looks good! I'll have to think on what I want my chars to be like in this one so no IC as of yet! Also Peaches could you maybe give us a little starting ground so that it would make it easier for others to jump in! I'm at a loss as to where I should start! Sorry if it sounds picky! Other than that looks nice!

OOC: This definitely looks exciting, but as Eggpire said I'm also unsure of how to enter. I really like the sound of this, though. ^^

IC:The time had passed quickly. The creature had led him to a nearby clearing where he had been camping. There were remnants of a campfire and a small pile of sticks. He then proceeded to tell Peaches all he knew of the Digital World and the Digi-Destined, occasionally stopping to ask random questions then continuing without waiting for an answer. Peaches had just sat quietly next to the ashes and absorbed all that was said.

After his strange host had finished, many hours had passed and the sun was setting behind the trees. The creature gathered some of the sticks and placed them on top of the where his last fire had been. He gathered some of the surrounding undergrowth and put them with the sticks. He then reached inside his cloak with his gloved hand and pulled out a small box containing a few matches. He lit the match and proceeded ignite a fire. In a few moments it was burning brightly.

Peaches stared deep into the flames, pondering all that this digimon had said. It was all so complicated, but somehow he understood it all. Whether he believed it or not he had not yet decided. "So, what now?", Peaches asked. The digimon looked up at him, "Not sure. I guess you go find out how to save the world." Peaches suddenly remembered something, "You said I was supposed to save the Digital World but, you never said from what. So what's this crisis I'm supposed to solve?" The digimon's eyes shifted to the sides and his ears twitched, making sure there was no one else around, "The Digital World has gone through some drastic changes in the past few months. The entire planet's different. Someones been taking over, too. I don't know who, though. Whoever they are, they've been enslaving other digimon and using them to take out anyone who tries to stop them. I wish I could tell you more, but I don't know too much about it."

After hearing this, Peaches felt as if he might have gotten in over his head. "How am I supposed to stop an army of, uh, digimon? You said there are hundreds of different ones and each one has different powers, so what am I supposed to do!?" The small wolf digimon began to think. It didn't take long before he thought of something, "I remember hearing that the Digi-Destined had digimon companions. I guess yours should pop up sooner or later." Peaches thought about this, then looked down at the so-called Digivice on his wrist, "Maybe this thing has some answers."

He began to tamper with the buttons on the sides. Instantly it came to life and projected a small holographic screen out of the wrist. The digimon came closer from around the fire, "Whoa.", his eyes were alight with wonder. The word "WELCOME" appeared across the screen. As the word disappeared, the screen displayed the current time, temperature, humidity, and a small list of further options.

8:09:35 pm 79° 42% humidity

Partner Status
Database
Map
D-mail

Peaches stared at the screen mesmerized by the display of technological superiority. "I guess I should check the status first." He sat there motionless for a moment, trying to figure out how operate the Digivice whilst trying to cope with his furry and now uncomfortably close acquaintance. Somewhere in his mind he randomly decided to poke at the screen. And to his surprise the the hologram reacted. The screen felt like a strange combination of hair lying on a hard wood floor and denim.

The screen went blank. Then the the words "NO PARTNER INDICATED" flashed in large white letters. Peaches thought about this for a second, "I guess I don't have a digimon yet." He looked down to the cute creature now looking up to him with its puppy eyes. His eyes were full of wonder and adventure. This digimon had told him all about what he was already involved in, but still, he had no idea what he was supposed to do... other than save this world he never knew existed from an unknown threat. "So, uh, would you like to be my partner?"A smile like none he had ever seen before spread across the digimon's face, "Yeah!" In a way Peaches was just returning a small favor with a life commitment, but he didn't know that.

The screen of the digivice disappeared as Peaches extended his hand in friendship, "The name's William, call me Peaches." The digimon grasped Peaches' gloved hand with his own, "I'm Canismon." Peaches released his grip and turned the Digivice back on. He once again chose Partner Status, it now bringing up a picture of Canismon and information on his current condition. "Well, now that that's, more or less, sorted out, what do we do now?", Peaches pressed the button that had turned the Digivice on, now turning it off.

Canismon stood up and moved back to the other side of the fire, "Right now we should get some sleep. We have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow." Peaches looked at him confused, "What are you talking about?" Canismon met Peaches' gaze, "We have to keep moving. If we stay in one place, how are we ever gonna get anywhere? We can't save the world just sitting here! For all we know, there could already be other Digi-Destined out there. If they are, we gotta go find 'em. We can't take on all the bad guys by ourselves."

Peaches laid down on the soft grass, "Yeah, I guess you're right." Saving an entire world, no one back home would believe this. But if there were other Digi-Destined, there was no telling where, or who they might be. And did they know what they were getting into. It wasn't long before Peaches fell into a deep sleep.

OOC:Notice how I started calling Canismon "he"? I hope this helps a bit. I only gave a vague description of what was going on, but I hope it works for you guys. And PLEASE don't ask how I came up with what the screen feels like.

OOC: I think I should probably add this. I know the same thing can be found at darklordpeaches' link, but at this has a sort of relationship of Digimon's levels in English and Japanese (i.e. Fresh = Baby, In-Training = Baby 2, Rookie = Child, and so on, with a Mega level in English being known as Ultimate in Japan). I post this because sometimes I may refer to the latter instead of the former, as I've seen Digimon Savers subbed fairly recently and actually like that better than what I've been seeing in the dubs. I just don't want anyone to be confused.

IC:
-Human World-

14-year old Kristal "Kris" Jameson sat bolt upright on the sofa in the living room. She had that dream again. Disembodied voices. Blurs of color that resembled unknown figures and whatnot. Maybe it was time to lay off drinking hot sauce.

Half-heartedly, she hopped off the sofa and headed to her bedroom, pausing to look at herself in the mirror in the hallway. Kris was probably the only African-American kid in her school who walked around wearing goggles on her head, but she didn't care. It matched her yellow tanktop decorated with a single black star, denim jeans, and black and white sneakers. Her dark brown hair was carefully kept in a single ponytail, and her brown eyes reflected lazily back at her. Well, that was to be expected, she'd just woken up.

Turning away, she continued on her way to her room, ignoring her mother's yammering away on the phone about some recipes she wanted to try out, her mind occupied with checking her email and then flopping on her own bed.

Or so she thought.

What awaited her as she turned on her computer monitor was nowhere near what she expected. It was completely white, with nothing but random letters, numbers, and symbols streaming across, making no sense at all. Had her brother been messing around and got a virus on her computer? Oh, he was so going to pay for that...

Just as she was starting to get up from her chair, it happened; the monitor started to shine with an unnatural brightness, to the point where it illuminated her room. Within seconds Kris was blinded, even when she shielded her eyes. Oh, what was going on?!

Before she knew it, she found herself disoriented getting up from the ground in completely unfamiliar surroundings, something like a forest of some sort. She felt something in her hand, and as she lifted it to look, there was a strange device in her hand. It looked sort of like one of those old keychain virtual pets she owned back in elementary school, but somehow much more advanced.

As Kris took a closer look at it, she could see nothing but a single triangle pointing in the direction straight ahead of her.

"Huh? What is this? Where am I?" she said to herself as she looked at the strange device, then at the trees around her. "What's happened to me?"

-Digital World: Somewhere else in the forest-

A small, cat-like creature quicky leapt from branch to branch, barely avoiding shuriken coming at her from all different directions. She was an adult-level* Digimon, white in color with blue eyes and clawed gloves on her front paws. The tips of her ears and the end of her thinly striped tail were purple, and, at the end of her tail was a golden ring inscribed with strange symbols.

She had no idea where she was headed, only that she'd had an incredibly strong feeling that someone was nearby, someone she'd probably meet very soon. That, and her unseen pursuers were very persistant.

"Stop running away, Gatomon!" a voice shouted from amongst the trees. "If you surrender, we promise not to go too hard on you. We were ordered to capture you alive, after all."

"Fat chance!" Gatomon shot back. "I don't know what your 'master' wants me for, but there's no way I'm going to waste time with a buncha punks like you Ninjamon!"

She suddenly dove to her right, a shuriken stuck fast in the branch where she just was. How many of them there were, even she didn't know. All she knew was she had to keep going.

With nothing else better to do, Kris decided to take a walk, following the strange keychain device's readings. Every now and again the strange triangle would change direction, and she'd follow it just the same. It was obviously leading her someplace, she just didn't know where she was heading.

That was probably around the time she witnessed it; some sort of white cat-like creature with purple markings leaping out from the treetops. Time seemed to slow down for the next few moments, as its eyes turned to look at Kris, then the strange device in her hand. They widened with realization, and the cat-thing rebounded off a tree trunk and right at her, paws outstretched, shouting, "It's you!"

Kris stumbled backwards and fell as the cat landed on a tree trunk nearby. "Get up, get up, you stupid human! There are assassins headed right this way!"

"Look, she's down there!"

"And there's some human! With something in it's hand!"

"Could it be--?"

"Nevermind that! Pursue them!"

Now panicked beyond belief, Kris scrambled to her feet and started running, with the cat creature at her heels. "Whoa, there was no need telling you twice. Humans must be smarter than I thought. I suppose you're wondering what the heck you just got dragged into. Well, I can't explain anything now, but I'll at least tell you what I am. I'm Gatomon, an adult-level Digimon. I also go by Tailmon,** but I'm sorta known as 'Tail' around these parts to those who know me. What are you called, human?"

"Eh?" Kris was caught off-guard by this impromptu conversation.

"What are you called?!" Gatomon repeated, sounding a bit impatient.

"Kristal," Kris answered. "Just call me 'Kris!'"

"'Kris,' huh?" the cat creature said. "I think I was supposed to meet you here, Kris. I don't know why, I just had this strange feeling I was supposed to meet someone around here somewhere. I don't know, I'm almost as clueless as you are."

The conversation came to a brief halt as the human and Digimon ducked and leaped to avoid another wave of shuriken.

"They sure don't know when to give up," Gatomon remarked dryly, hopping off another tree and landing on Kris' shoulder. "Say, what's that thing blinking in your hand, anyway?"

She held up Kris' left hand with one paw, which had a tight grip on the keychain device. As her other paw neared the blinking arrow on the screen, it seemed to glow for a bit. Her blue eyes narrowed as she gazed at it for a brief moment before she leapt off again.

"What is it?" the human girl asked, giving the Digimon a confused look.

"It's just as I thought, you've got a Digivice. You arriving in this world is no coincidence, Kris. You must be one of those 'Chosen Children' or 'Digi-Destined' I've been hearing a lot about lately."

"Digi-what?"

"Digi-Destined," Gatomon repeated. "I don't know much about them myself, I just know that they're humans who partner with Digimon for some really big purpose. Say, I think I'll stick with you for a while. You seem pretty cool-- and speedy-- for a human, anyway."

"Is that supposed to be a complement?" Kris asked indignantly, although breathless.

"Take it whichever way you want," Gatomon answered back.

Kris chose not to answer, instead choosing to check this "Digivice" in her grasp. The pointing arrow and changed direction again. Deciding she should do the same, she turned to her right and kept going, with, much to her dismay, Gatomon following right along. "Why are you following me?"

"I said I was going to stick with you, so I am. Just pretend you don't see me and keep going to wherever you're going to."

*Champion level in dub = Adult level in original
**Tailmon is Gatomon's name in Japan.

OOC:
Just to clarify, Kris' digivice is a sort of keychain type. Think the D-arcs from Digimon Tamers without the card slot thingies.
Edit: Corrected a grammar error, made another small change. Last time I'll edit this, really. o.o;

OOC:The Japanese level names make more sense, but I knew them by the English ones so that's what I use. Anyone who wants to join can use either one they want to. I've been trying to decide whether I want Canismon to say "digivolve" or "shinka" during digivolution. Just to let you know, I finally think I have the entire bad guy structure and plot figured out. No post right now, but hopefully I'll think of something soon. Thanks for the link Kaze. And Egg, I'm just saying, it's Monday, the weekend's over. You can go ahead and take your time though, I can wait.... for a while.

IC:

SOMEWHERE IN DIGITAL WORLD

The sun was high in the sky, but that didn't matter to Patamon. The short and oval shaped digital creature had seemingly wandered into a thick mist blanketing the entire forest pathway. What little light that did escape through the veil combined with the tall trees that also helped block out the sun, only gave forth a small shimmer of light. Something about he scenario seemed eerie, and the orange and white creature hovered several inches above ground level looking back and forth making sure no one was nearby. The small wings attached to his head which also doubled as ears perked when Patamon heard what sounded like a faint laugh followed by a whisper.

"Hello?" Patamon said trying to see through the thick whiteness, "Is there someone there?"

He heard the laugh again only this time it was much louder. Patamon quickly spun around and scanned the area trying to pin point the location that the noise was emitting from.

"Answer me!" Patamon demanded.

The laughter rang again much, much closer this time. Patamon could not trace the noise as it seemed to surround him. Patamon stood silent for several seconds, and then took a few steps forward.

He stopped abruptly when he saw a long slim silhouette form right in front of his eyes. Patamon let a a yelp and darted off in the opposite direction hearing the sinister laugh from behind him. The small winged hamster had ran for about five minutes when he decided to stop to catch his breath.

"I KNOW!" came a loud whisper behind the tired Patamon, "I KNOW ABOUT THE DIGI DESTINED!"

"What?" Patamon said out loud.

"YOU!" the voice said again with a chuckle, "YOU WILL HELP ME ACHIEVE MY GOAL!"

Before Patamon could say anything in his defense everything went black for the poor digital creature.

REAL WORLD-

TELLABARK CITY-

SMALL ISLAND LOCATED IN THE PACIFIC-

It was noon and the smell of various fried foods drifted through the air of the overly crowded streets. Despite the intense heat everyone seemed to be happy and cheerful as they went from stand to stand rummaging through boxes of junk for sale. It was that time of year again. The annual Teallabark City Toasty Market. It was a day where hundreds if not thousands of people gather to buy priceless antiques and other whatnots! Of course a market this big always has to have the usual assortment of delicious fried foods and ice cream priced a little too high, but a blast to eat. It was amongst this crowd where a young teenager would forever change the course of his life!

He quickly made his way through the crowd, greasy bright blue hair shimmering in the sunlight. A kid no older than fifteen. Someone his age should have been in school at this hour, but nevertheless he was here! As he progressed down the long littered street he "accidentally" brushed up against a rough looking man with green hair.

"Hey watch were you're going punk!" he yelled at the boy.

"I'm sorry!" the boy said with a smile letting a long strand of his hair fall in front of his eyes, "Its awfully crowded out today! My apologies!"

"Sure!" the man grunted and stomped off in the opposite direction.

When the man was out of sight the teenaged boy let loose a grin and pulled out a small leather wallet.

"Score another one for Chonai Striken!" he said as he began to rummage through green hair's wallet.

Chonai closed it and smiled, "Well he wasn't exactly loaded, but it's not bad!" he looked around at the various stands, "I wonder what I can buy myself that's right pretty!"

Placing the spoils in the back pocket of his tattered denim jeans, Chonai Striken waltzed off stopping at nearby booths. He browsed the selection for hours upon hours trying to find the right product for his purchases! He eventully happened upon a booth that was selling various electronics! Old classic game consoles, various movie discs, and of course video games! It perked Chonai's interests and he began to look upon the goods strewn out in front of him. He looked and looked until he came upon a small portable gaming device. It was dual screened like an Nintendo DS, but all the buttons were on the side of the machine. Instead of being white this device was painted jet black with gold trimmings along the edges.

"Um…" Chonai began to ask the nice and gentle man running the stand, "Could you kindly tell me what this thing is?"

"Sure I can!" the salesman said with a smile, "This is a state of the art gaming machine made by indie developers using currently existing technology!"

"It looks a lot like the DS!"

"But that is where it fools you! This little handlheld doesn't have dual screens!"

"It doesn't?"

"No those "screens" are in fact miniature holo-projectors! They can display the images from the game currently being played in true to life 3D animation!"

"How come no one has ever heard of this handheld if it's that great?"

The man running the stand leaned down and whispered into Chonai's ear, "You see I'm the inventor of this glorious machine, but I'm too broke to actually sell it to the higher companies! Also as you already mentioned it looks almost exactly like an Nintendo DS, and no one wants to buy gaming device that looks like a second rate knock-off! So I sell them hear at my stand in hopes that one day someone from a higher gaming company will buy my product and then help me make millions if not TRILLIONS!"

"That's some dream!" Chonai said with a blush.

"Well when you dream you have to dream big my friend, because there will come a day when you can't dream at all!"

"Does it have any games for it?"

"Sure! I wouldn't try to sell this work of art without actually selling some compatible games along with it"

"Can I see one in action before I make up my mind?"

"Of course you can!"

The booth owner kneeled down underneath the table and began to mess around in a small cardboard box, but before he could rise something happened! A careless soul walking joyfully through the crowd just happened to tire of the slushie he was drinking! That was when he decided to toss it aside! Completely ignoring the trash can standing right beside him, the careless man tossed the cup over his left shoulder. It sailed through the air for what seemed like minutes before it finally landed on top of the nice looking man gaming invention!

It sizzled and began to spark and a plume of smoke shot from one of the screens. The gaming revolution was dead! A tear began to sweal up in the right eye of the happy booth owner as he saw what had happened (Some of the slushie had also splashed on his face). Chonai couldn't believe it! Without thinking he reached into his pockets and pulled out a small cloth and reached out for the soaked device. As soon as young striken touched the system, however, a blinding light erupted form the upper holo-screen. Chonai could feel the jolts of electricity coursing through his body. He could hear the horrid screams of the nice man as everything went white and eventually…black!

Chonai Striken felt the pain pulsate throughout his body as he began to rise to his feet. He noticed that he was no longer on the hot pavement of Tellabark City. Instead he was on what seemed to be a small dirt path, but he couldn't be completely sure he was still surrounded by white. Chonai looked down at his feet and saw the portable gaming machine that he had wanted to buy from the nice man. However something about it was different. The device was no longer damaged and bothe the holo-screens were flashing thick black binary code across a green backlit screen. Chonai scratched his head and leaned down and picked up the device. He then looked around to see if he could see anything, but all he saw was white.

"Am I dead?" Chonai asked out loud, "Am I in heaven?"

"No you're not dead well at least not yet I think!" came a soft eerie voice.

"What? Who's there?" Chonai demanded.

"I'm glad to see that you could make it child!" came the voice again this time more menacing, "I've been waiting oh so long just so I can see a destined child once again!"

The whitness slowly began to fade as Chonai noticed he was standing in a thick mist. He could make out a long slim figure standing several yards ahead of him.

"Where am I, and what do you mean destined?" Chonai said taking several nervous steps towards the figure.

The figure began to walk towards the slightly scared teenager, "I guess it's true that all great warrior start from scratch! Then again I wasn't the one who supposed to inform you about your role in this adventure!"

The mist died down a little more as the figure came into full view. At first glance he appeared to be human except he had deathly pale skin! He wore attire that looked as if it came from the seventeenth century. His over coat had a huge pointed collar that jutted out almost over his head. The coat was A thick blue almost violet color with blood red trim. He cast a menacing shadow that sent shivers down Chonai's back.

Chonai examined the strange man closer and noticed that he was holding something in his arms. A small creature of sorts. It had wing shaped ears and a coat of Orange and white fur or at least to Chonai it was fur! The creature was trembling in the mans arms as if it had been injured. Coming from the mouth and several various wounds across the body was some sort of a mixture of binary code and ideation. Chonai felt the gaming device rumble in his hands and raised it to look at the screen. Displayed in a holo-image was the creature that the man was holding in his arms. On the screen below it black text scrolled across the screen reading "PARTNER IDENTIFIED: PATAMON"!

"Partner?" Chonai said as he looked at the helpless creature struggling to survive in the wicked looking man's arms.

"Oh yes he's your partner, and a very powerful one at that!" the pale man raised the Patamon to his face and breathed in the pixilated binary blood. Water bubbled in Patamon's eyes as all he could do was take the punishment. The man licked his lip at lets loose a sinister laugh, "Ah, the taste of a Rookie! Too young to fight back, but old enough to know what true fear is! Fear makes their code taste so so sweet! It's borderline addictive!"

"What are you doing to him?" Chonai said braceing himself for the consequences that would occur after his actions, "STOP IT NOW!"

"Don't worry I'm all finished with him!" the man said tossing Patamon aside like a doll, "He can go die in peace now!"

Chonai ran over to Patamon and kneeled down next to the digital creature. Tears were rolling down Patamon's cheeks as he began to vanish in that weird binary pixilated mess that poured like blood. As Patamon vanished the device began to rumble again. This time the text on the screen read "PATAMON REVERTED TO EGG STAGE!" A holo image of a solid white egg displayed from the upper screen.

"Ya' know I picked you personally!" the man said with a grin, "The aura that surrounds you is shrouded with dark secrets! The pain you have experienced is unlike any other I had came into contact with before! I believe you hold the key to my…perfection!"

"Perfection?" Chonai said, "I don't even know where I am or what's going on! I don't know who you are I didn't know who my partner was I never seen this place or you in my entire life! You only think you know me, and as far as I'm concerned I'm not helping you do anything! GOODBYE!"

Chonai Striken turned and began to march off away from the odd pale man, but stopped in his tracks when the man appeared in front of him yet again. Chonai turned and looked back to see if there wasn't two of them then faced the man again.

"What are you?" Chonai said puzzled.

"I am your savior that is I can be your savior if you should allow me to be so!" he said with a grin.

"I told you I want no part of your perfection!" Chaonai said marching past the pale man.

Once more he appeared in front of the young Striken!

"Then it looks like I'll have to do this myself!" he said as he grabbed Chonai by the shoulder and began to raise him in the air.

"Hey what are doing to me? Put me down now!" Striekn demanded.

"You will thank me fore this latter when all the power you could ever dream of rests at the ends of your finger tips! I can make you a God among mortals, and I can achieve perfection! You may not understand now, but in time you will!"

The sinister man's free hand came up and gripped the opposite side of Chonai's neck. The experience could be described as when a ranch owner brands the rumps of his cattle. Chonai could feel something being burned into the right side of his neck. Chonai let out a howl of pain as the man let out a howl of laughter.

"PUT HIM DOWN NOW!" raged a voice from the back ground.

The pale man could only blink once before the left side of his face was hit with some sort of energy blast. Chonai fell to the ground and look over at the creature who had just saved his life. It was quite an odd sight indeed. The newcomer was solid black and stood up right. They were red marking across the wrists, ankles, and upper back of the creature. As it turned to face Chonai he noticed that it wasn't even human. It was more akin to a humanoid fox. It had pointed ears, long face, and strangely solid white hair almost shoulder length. Chonai could also see more of those markings on it's chest, and that it didn't have a tail. In size the newcomer was about half the size Chonai was and it had big almost cartoony eyes!

"Greetings Digi-destined child, I am Negateanmon!" it said in a cheerful voice.

"It doesn't matter who you are the boy is already mine!" the man said as a think fog began to surround him, "He already has my mark, I am now bonded to him just as h is bonded to me! In time he will come seeking me, the great and malevolent MYOTISMON!" with a sinister laugh Myotismon and the mist vanished revealing a lush a massive forest!

Negateanmon quickly darted over to Chonai Striken.

"Sorry about that! No one was expecting an attack on the destined, especially when they just arrive!" he said almost to cheerfully.
"Negateanmon," Chonai began holding the strange batlike marking on his neck, "What's going on?"

Negateanmon told Chonai all about digital world, digimon tamers, and the digi-destined. He told Chonai of the evils that they face and the unknown forces that control them. He told Chonai of partner digimon and their purposes. He breifed Chonai on everything that Patamon was supposed to.

"I don't understand," Chonai said scratching his head while the two sat on a bench at a bus stop just outsdie the forest, "If Patamon was my partner and he got killed who is my partner now?"
"Patamon isn't dead! He's just turned back into an egg and is located safely inside your digivice!" Neagateanmon said pointing to the handheld gaming machine.
"So what next?"
"Due to the circumstances it will take longer for the egg to hatch and even then it won't be Patamon, but his lower digi-volution Tokomon! So in the mean time I will act as your partner Digimon!"
"Great so does that mean I have two partner digimon?"
"No, no it doesn't" Negateanmon said, "I may be stronger than your average rookie digimon, but thats all. I can't digivolve, and on top of that I am not linked to your digivice so you can't support me using it! I'm just your Digimon guardian for now!"
"And digi-volution is when you change into powerful variations of yourself right?"
"Correct!" Negateanmon stood up, Didgi-destined are the elite digiomon tamers seperated we are helpless! It is best if we can meet up with the other destined, and go from there!"
"Aren't we gonna wait for the bus?" Chonai said as he chased after Negateanmon who was already halfway down the road.
"My freind...there is no bus!"

OOC:
And there we go! By the way Negateanmon is pronounced (Neh-GAT-Ian-mon). Hope it wasn't to much or to long! This looks awesome and I hope it actually goes to places that other RPs have never went before! Here's to a long running RP!

It was starting to become more difficult for Kris and Gatomon to keep some sort of safe distance from their Ninjamon pursuers. Kris looked down at the Digivice still gripped in her hand. There had to be some way to lose them. This the most running the kid from New Jersey had done in her entire life, and enough was enough.

When the next opportunity arose, she quickly ducked behind a tree and started mashing the buttons, Gatomon at her heels.

"What are you doing?! Do you know how much danger we're in right now?!"

"I know, I know! I just need to find out a way to lose those-- things!!"

"We can't stay here!" Gatomon told her, reaching for the Digivice. "We have to get outta here, or else--"

The Digimon's words were cut off when the small device suddenly flashed and emitted a high-pitched beep.

"Augh! What is that awful noise?!"
"Make it stop!!"

One by one, at least four or five Ninjamon dropped to the ground all around them, reeling in pain from the noise.

Kris was gazing open-mouthed at the sight until a holographic screen caught her attention.

PARTNER DIGIMON IDENTIFIED
NAME: Gatomon
LEVEL: Champion
TYPE: Vaccine
CONDITION: Normal

"'Partner Digimon?'" Kris read aloud. "Gatomon... did you know this was going to--"

"I told you we were probably supposed to meet, and I said I'd stick with you," the feline Digimon said to her, half-exasperated, half-amused. "Now, come on, Kris. Let's get outta here before these guys recover."

Kris nodded. "Right." As she stepped forward, the girl looked down at the Digivice again. It had gone back to displaying that small arrow on its small screen, pointing into the woods ahead of her.

"You coming or what?" Gatomon called from nearby.

"Yeah, sure." Kris ran to catch up with Gatomon and the two disappeared into the woods.

One of the Ninjamon still reeling from the high-pitched beep got to his feet. "Dangit... we lost them..."

"Not quite," another spoke up. "We now know one thing."

"'Tail' was a chosen Digimon after all, just as Master said," the third added.

"And that human is her partner, a Digi-Destined child," said the fourth, standing shakily on his feet. "Boss, what do we do?"

"We report back to our Master," said the fifth, and the Ninjamon leader, who already stood at full height ahead of them. "He must be informed of this at once.

"Yes, sir!" In unison, they all threw down smoke bombs, enveloping the forest in white smoke. When it cleared, they were gone.

"So, you say this world is parallel to my own? That's a bit too much for me, Gatomon," Kris remarked moments later.

"Well, I don't blame you," Gatomon replied. "You didn't asked to be thrown into this world. I didn't ask to be hunted down."

"You know, you never mentioned why you were being chased by those Ninjamon things or whatever they were."

Gatomon stopped in her tracks and looked back at Kris. "You really wanna know?"

"Yeah," Kris nodded. "I mean, if we're going to be traveling I think it's proper to get to know each other."

Gatomon smirked. "You humans sure are weird. If you must know, it's because of my dreams."

"Dreams?"

"It's a long story," Gatomon said. "Let's leave it at because of my dreams, I was able to find you."

All was silent for the next few moments as the two of them continued through the woods. After a while, the forest seemed to thin out, as trees didn't seem to look like they were crowding each other. At least, from Kris' point of view. Above the trees, a thin column of smoke could be seen. Gatomon was giving it a serious look, as though she somehow knew something.

"There's someone else in these woods."

Kris stared at the feline Digimon. "But, who could it be?"

"I'm going to check it out," Gatomon said, taking off.

"Wha-- hey wait, Gatomon! Isn't that the type of thing we should avoid?!"

"There could be another one there."

"Another what?"

"Another Digi-Destined."

OOC: Say, is it alright to move the story forward a bit? I haven't really seen Egg in awhile, and I think some character interaction could finally take place, at the very least. I think I left my last post so Kris and Tail would be making a beeline towards Will and Canismon.

OOC:Sorry for the huge delay, guys. I've had other stuff to do. The end is a bit rushed, but its looks okay to me.

IC:Peaches awoke to the sound of something moving far behind him. He opened his eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the light. It was early morning, the horizon a bright shade of violet. The fire had gone out sometime in the night, though the ashes were still warm.

Canismon was crouched on the opposite side of the area, as he had been the night before. His hands, though they were more like paws, were placed firmly on the ground in front of him. His ears were erect, twitching every few seconds. Peaches pulled himself up into a sitting position. "What is it?" Canismon responded by raising one hand, motioning for him to be quiet. There was an empty silence for a moment, then Canismon's eyes widened with fear.

He leaped over the small pile of ashes and grabbed Peaches' arm and began to pull him up. "We have to go." Peaches was amazed at Canismon's strength as he pulled him up off the ground. "What's wrong?", Peaches asked. Canismon pulled him by the arm, almost dragging him across the area. "Hurry up, we don't have much time! He's coming!" Peaches stopped him, just as they were about to exit the clearing. "Who's coming?" Almost instantly, the trees on the other side of the area were pulled apart, as if they were curtains, to reveal a gigantic red insect. Upon seeing them, it let out a roar that shook the entire forest. His question answered, Peaches shouted in terror and took off, Canismon beside him.

They darted through the trees, knowing that the large digimon was after them. Peaches looked back and saw the red exoskeleton above the tree line. The sound of its wings brought even more fear to him. He turned his attention back to running, yelling to Canismon as he went. "What do we now!?" He also became aware that Canismon was now on all fours, his tail revealed from underneath his cloak. "This way!", Canismon called, quickly turning to the right. Peaches undoubtedly followed.

It wasn't long before they stopped and hid behind a boulder near to a large ravine. They were both out of breath and breathing heavily, even though Canismon's was more like a dog panting. Being to preoccupied with running, Peaches failed to notice his digivice flashing. Having now seen it, he pulled up the holographic screen. It was blank for a moment, then the words 'NEW DATA ACQUIRED' appeared. After they faded away it brought up a picture of the digimon that had been following them, along with its information.

Kuwagamon
Level: Champion
Attribute: Virus
Type: Insectoid Digimon
Family(s): Nature Spirits
A large insect digimon that possesses great strength. Its mandibles are very sharp and have the capability to rip through any material. They are used during battle to crush and slice its prey and enemies. It is among the most powerful of Champion level digimon.

"Well, at least I know what that thing was, now." Peaches said with a bit of a chuckle. He looked around the screen, then pressed a small arrow in the upper left taking him back to what he had just now deemed the 'main menu'. He looked over to Canismon. "I think its about time we figured out where we are." He pressed the word 'Map'. It brought up a 3-D view of a planet, which was, most likely, the digital world. It rotated slowly around before stopping and revealing a flashing red dot with the words 'Current Position' next to it.

It instantly zoomed in onto the area, now projecting a flat view of the area. The ravine they sitting next to was located to one side of the forest. On the other side there was only about a mile more of forest until it gave way to vast plains. Peaches pressed an arrow pointing in that direction. The map shifted showing the next area, to reveal what looked like a small city.

He tapped Canismon's shoulder, as he had seemed to have spaced out of reality. "Hey, look at this. There's some sort of town a couple of miles from here. We just need to find a way across this canyon." Canismon didn't seem to pay him any attention. "Hey, Canismon, are you even listening?"

Canismon just sat there, his ears perked, trying to locate the sound he had heard moments ago, his eyes shifting back and forth, trying to catch some sort of hint as to what had made the sound. Then they both heard something: a piece of rock falling off the side of the ravine, hitting the water far below moments after. They looked at each other, then proceeded slowly to the side of the large gap in the earth. Looking down they saw nothing but the rapids at the bottom. They both let out a sigh of relief and their muscles became relaxed again.

Just as the let down their guard, two bright red clawed hands grabbed the edge of the ravine from within, instantly followed by a set of giant pincers slicing through the air at the digi-destined and his partner. Peaches, having barely dodged the attack by leaping out of the way, looked up from where he now lay. Canismon had done a backwards flip and was now standing near the large boulder. The Kuwagamon pulled itself up from the wall of the ravine and let out a roar.

Canismon grabbed his cloak and whipped it away from his body, tossing it aside. Underneath he wore a pair of jeans and two straps that conjoined at his chest with a buckle, forming an x-shape. On the left side of his waist, strapped to his belt, was a holster, a single shot pistol resting within it. On the back of his belt was a horizontal sheath, containing a large single edged knife. There was also a small pouch on the left side of his pants. Canismon reached over and pulled the hammer back on the pistol and kept his hand hovering above it. The Kuwagamon just sat there watching him, waiting to see if he would strike. There was an empty silence that seemed to be endless.

In an instant, Kuwagamon lunged forward at Canismon, swiping at him with tremendous power. Canismon leaped backwards, dodging the attack, then rolled to the side as the Kuwagamon brought its hand down. Realizing that Kuwagamon's hand was now stuck in the ground, Canismon hopped on top of it and ran up the arm. He leaped onto Kuwagamon's head and pulled out his knife. As he was about to stab the blade into the red exoskeleton, Kuwagamon shook his arm free from the ground and flung his head in a violent motion, tossing Canismon off. Canismon rolled his body in midair and landed on all fours, the knife still gripped tightly in his right hand.

Peaches watched as the battle continued at a safe distance. Canismon continued to stay defensive, evading all of Kuwagamon's attacks, occasionally taking advantage of an opening to attempt an attack, resulting in him coming close to getting his skull cracked open. Peaches heard a light beeping sound coming from the digivice and brought up the screen. The information on Canismon came up and there was something else too.

Canismon
Level: Rookie
Attribute: Virus
Type: Beast Digimon
Family(s):Nightmare Soldiers, Nature Spirits

Partner Activated Skills:
Adrenaline Boost

Peaches pressed the words 'Adrenaline Boost', curious of what it may do and hoping it helped. As he pressed down, the buckle on Canismon's chest began to glow.

Canismon looked down at the buckle on his chest. The light was noticeable even in the light from the sun, but he could still see the design on the circular piece of steel. The triangle with a circle around it and three other triangles surrounding the circle at the points that the inner triangle touched the edge of the circle. As the glow faded he could feel power growing inside him, more than he'd felt before.

Canismon rushed forward with intense speed. He knew what he was going to do now. He ducked down to dodge an incoming attack and leaped over another, lower attack. When he was directly in front of Kuwagamon, he sheathed his knife and got low to the ground, and leaped forward. Canismon slammed his shoulder into Kuwagamon with all his new found might, knocking the giant insect backwards to the edge of the ravine. Canismon did a back flip to the ground and drew his gun. He held it with both hands, it changing into a small blunderbuss as he spoke, "Power Bullet!" He fired the gun, launching a rather large bullet out and into Kuwagamon, blasting him over the edge of the ravine.

There was a silence, then a loud splash could be heard. It seemed that the sudden attack had done something to the Kuwagamon, physically or mentally, as it did have wings and could have easily flown back up. Canismon's buckle stopped glowing. The power boost was short lived. Peaches looked at him. "That was amazing!", his excitement was completely obvious. "You kicked the living crap out of that thing!" Canismon gave him a grin, then sat down next to the boulder. Peaches shortly joined him.

After a moment of silence, Peaches looked at him, "So how do you suppose we're going to get across here?" He pointed out to the ravine. Canismon looked around, then stood up and walked over to a tree next to the ravine. He reached into the pouch on his pants and pulled out, what looked to be, a stick of dynamite. He placed it under one of the tree's roots and pulled out a match, quickly striking it across the root and lighting the fuse of the dynamite. As soon as he knew it was lit, he rushed back over to the boulder and crouched low with his hands over his head. Peaches instantly mimicked this motion. There was a second of silence, then a loud explosion, followed by the sound of the tree falling over and striking the ground.

Peaches looked up, along with Canismon, to see the tree laying straight across the ravine. Peaches looked at Canismon, "Nice thinking." Canismon stood up and picked his cloak up off the ground. He dusted it off and wrapped it back around his body. Peaches walked over to the tree. "After we get out of this forest, we can see if we can dig up some dirt on this big bad guy we're supposed to beat. And maybe some food." They both climbed up onto the makeshift bridge and crossed to the other side, with the hope of something to eat on their minds.

It didn't take long for Kris and Gatomon to reach the area where the thin column of smoke had been spotted. However, whoever was there was already long gone.

"Hmm… too late. By the looks of things they must have left in a hurry," Gatomon mumbled to herself as she examined the ashes of what had once been a fire. "These ashes don't seem like they've been sitting here long. Maybe they couldn't have gone far. We should continue going."

Kris had sat down on the ground and started pressing buttons on her Digivice. Various 3D diagrams flickered by, including one of Gatomon with quickly scrolling text next to it. "Can we at least rest a bit first? I haven't relaxed since I dropped in here and my legs feel like jelly."

Before the feline Digimon could turn to her and answer, a loud roaring made their ears ring. A split second later, a large shadow flew overhead.

"HIDE!"

Gatomon's shout was barely audible above what sounded like loud buzzing, but the duo immediately headed for cover. As it passed and dust settled, they ventured slowly back into the abandoned camp. Any trace of someone being there had vanished.

Gatomon looked over the damage, spotting downed and broken trees some thirty yards away from where they stood.

"That must have been some huge Digimon," Gatomon stated. "Looks like your 'rest' will have to wait till we get out this forest, unless you want something like that or those Ninjamon to attack us."

Kris nodded, though inside, her heart sank. "All right," she sighed, "Let's…"

"Shush." Gatomon held up a paw to her face, her tail twitching nervously. "Listen."

Kris fell silent, carefully listening for whatever Gatomon was hearing. Sounds of battle. A moment later, something seemed to flash through the trees, then the sound of some sort of blast.

When it was over, Gatomon seemed tense. Cautiously, she took a few steps forward, then motioned to Kris. "The coast should be clear. It looks like it's over."

"How can you be sure?"

"You don't hear anything now, do you?"

Another sound of an explosion made the two of them jump. Kris nearly dropped her Digivice. "Well, I heard that one," she said sheepishly.

It was then that the Digivice began to vibrate and beep again, causing her to nearly drop it again. As she fumbled with her hands, she looked at the screen. The small map had appeared again, but this time, the small green arrow she'd been seeing before was pointing to the southwest, and moving. The small words "Unidentified" and "Possible Chosen" kept flashing above it. Another small arrow, a red one pointing to the north had the words "Current Position" flashing above it as well.

Gatomon had hopped on her shoulder. "'Possible Chosen?'" she read aloud. "Is that what this thing has been tracking all along?"

"I don't have a clue," Kris said honestly. "I still don't really know what this thing's supposed to do."

Gatomon was silent for a moment. "Well, you've been following it all along. You want to continue?"

"Yeah. If it can lead us out of these woods, then I'm game." Kris reached into her pocket and pulled out a shoe string. Looping it through the keychain clip, she tied the ends of the string into a knot and put it around her neck.

Without another moment of hesitation (or conversation), the two of them pressed on, following the map until coming across a downed tree crossing a ravine. Guessing that it had been brought down during the fight they heard earlier by examining charred roots, they carefully made their way across.

"What does it say now?" Gatomon asked once they reached the other side.

"Uh… same thing."

"Hmm. If it keeps going that way, they'll reach File City."

"File City?" Kris asked, puzzled.

"It's a small town, but it's the closest place to here," Gatomon explained. "I think it's the best place to find out more information about what may be going on." She turned to Kris. "Are you coming?"

"Of course! Maybe they'll know what brought me here in the first place!"

OOC: Hey I'm still here too! I've just been watching from the sidelines, but I decided to update my char a little bit as not to get left behind!

"I think you have gotten us lost!" the whiny Chonai barked at his new digimon partner.
"I know where I am going so if you will please shut up and don't tell me how to do my job!" Negateanmon said a little frustrated.
"Job? What job?" Chonai said with a laugh.
Negateanmon stopped and turned to face the boy, he narrowed his eyes and began to speak in a serious tone that nearly startled the young Striken, "Listen here mister Digi-Destined! I don't know if you realize this or not, but your life is in danger! I'm not just talking about Myostismon either! Mysotismon is the least of your worries! There is another greater force out there way stronger than anything you have ever seen! They want nothing more than the complete and utter destruction of everything you see around you, and they see you, a digi-destined, as an obstacle in their path! The way you are now, all this "force" or whatever has to do is glare at you and you'd be dead!"

Chonai Stiken began to shiver at the though of something that poweful. He finally mustered up the courage to speak, "So how exactly do you know all of this!"
An almost complete personality change, Negateanmon smiled brightly ans said, "There's always an evil force at work, and the digi-destined are always said to be the ones who will stop it! Most of the stuff I said is basically true but still somewhat a fabrication of my mental being!"

An awkward smile spread across Chonai's face as he tried to process everything he had just been told through his own "menatl being"! "But you said...what about...so you are...OH nevermind!"

Chonai breathed a long sigh and looked back over at Negateanmon, "So tell me where exactly are we heading?"
"File City! Well at least that is our main goal...for now!" Negateanmon began to walk onward down the path, "There we will be able to rest and gather various info on what exactly is going on and how we should go about it!"

"So is there any way that I could get home?" Chonai said as he pulled out his dual screened Dgivice and began to play around with the various functions displayed on the the touch screen, I fell really bad about that man's DS...game...thingy that brought me here in the first place!"

"I don't really know the answer to that one, but it is worth checking into..." Negateanmon smiled and closed his eyes "...if you want to abandon your destiny and let all the poor little creatures of digital world die a slow painful death screaming out, "Why did you leave Chonai Striken. WHY! You are a digi-destined you're supposed to save us in our hour of nee-""

"That's quite enough! Let's just make it to this city how much further?" Chonai said anoyed.
"We just keep following this road! Eventually it cuts back into the forest and forks about halfway through! Either path takes you to the city but one is longer!"
"If we were in the forest in the first place wouldn't it have been faster to just cut through it and find the path on the other side?" Choani asked puzzeled.
"Yes, but then we would have been attacked by strange creatures, adn you don't look strong enough to take them on by yourself!"
"But isn't that why you're here?"
"Maybe, but I want to avoid as many fights as possible so we follow the path!"
"You're just lazy!"

The two stop as they hear an engine in the distance behind them. They turn and see a small cloud of dirt coming toward them. As it gets closer and closer they notice that it is a samll shuttle bus hauling tail down the path Choani and Negateanmon were walking. They politely stepped to the side as it drove on by.

"I thought you said there was no bus!" Chonai said as the bus disapperead in the distance.
Neagteanmon shrugged and polietly responded, "I lied!"

OOC: Mind if I join in?

IC: The first thing he saw upon awaking was the face of a round, dark-faced creature wearing a mask, peering at him with bright yellow eyes. "Hey, wake up, ya putz!" said the creature, but the boy at first didn't react; it was like waking up from a bad dream, or maybe being in one.

"Huh?"

Then it hit him like a thunderbolt, and he sat upright, disturbing the dead leaves on the floor of what appeared to be a forest around him. "Wha-where am I?" He raised a hand up to scratch at his very short blue-black hair. He looked at the creature again, and scuttled backwards on his hands and feet. "AAH! What are you?"

The round creature jumped into the air and flapped on tattered wings that extended from its mask. "I'm DemiDevimon, that's who I am! And I'm your Digimon partner! You're one of the Digi-Destined, aren't ya?"

The teenaged boy blinked, slowly getting up to his feet. The strange creature was probably the size of his head, with sharp taloned feet and visible fangs, but its eyes were quite large and somewhat adorable. Nevertheless, it made him feel uneasy. "Err, I'm not sure if you've got the right person. My name is Rich, and I've never heard of any of those things before."

"But you gotta be a Digi-Destined! Look at that thing there glowing at your side!" DemiDevimon, as the creature called itself, gestured with a taloned foot at a glow that Rich saw out of the corner of his eye.

Rich looked down, and reached down to one of the lanyards that hung from his belt. He lifted the end of it up, which had what looked like a white LCD device with a backlight screen and blue highlights and buttons. It was this screen that produced the bright light he had just seen, and it dimmed once he held the device in his hand. "What is this?" he said, somewhat awed by it even though he didn't quite understand why.

"It's called a Digivice, and the Digi-Destined are the humans who have 'em," explained DemiDevimon impatiently as he flapped up to a tree branch and perched there, leering down at Rich. "So you gotta be a Digi-Destined, here to save the Digital World!"

Rich shook his head. "But why me? And what are these Digi-Destined supposed to save the...Digital World...from?"

DemiDevimon alighted from his perch, and started flying down toward Rich. "If you'll just give me that Digivice, I can show you just wha-"

"M16 Assassin!"

BANG! A bullet flew past DemiDevimon's floppy ears, scaring him back up into the tree. "Awwk!"

Rich, startled, fell back and tried to see where the bullet had come from. "Wha-what was that?! Are we under attack?"

"Don't worry, sir, I've got you covered," said a gruff voice next to Rich's ear as a creature appeared as if from nowhere.

Rich looked at this second creature, and the sight of it was almost more boggling than DemiDevimon. It looked like a blue speckled humanoid reptile, wearing what looked like a mixture of futuristic metal armor, and a military uniform and helmet. The speckles almost looked like pixillation, like his skin had been badly rendered, although the effect was not bad. It had yellow eyes like DemiDevimon's, except it had softer ones. But most of all, it had a rifle in its cybernetic claws that it held up and pointed at DemiDevimon, who looked petrified sitting on its perch.

"Clear out of here, or next time it won't be a warning shot," growled the new creature.

"Curses! What's a Commandramon doin' all the way out here? Fine, I'm out of here, but don't think next time will go the same way, pal!" DemiDevimon huffed, and flapped off hurriedly through the woods.

"Wait, why'd you do that?" asked Rich, a little upset. "He was going to tell me about the Digivice, and all this other Digi-stuff."

"No he wasn't, sir," said the reptile as he shouldered his rifle and turned to Rich. "DemiDevimon is with the ones who are trying to take over the Digital World. Military Intelligence had a brief on him that he's trying to get more powerful by tricking the Digi-Destined into helping him. You're only lucky I got here when I did, because otherwise he would have stolen your Digivice and that would be that, sir."

"And who are you?"

"I'm Commandramon, ID number three five three, Able Squad." Commandramon saluted neatly. "I have been ordered to find you and serve as your Digimon partner, sir. I am to attach myself to your command, and I'll also answer any questions you have about this world."

Rich really didn't know what to make of all this. "So, we're in the...Digital World?"

"That's correct, sir."

Rich held the Digivice tightly in his slightly chubby hand - his stocky figure didn't make him feel much better in this situation, since he had never been particularly athletic. But he was in a very strange situation and he didn't know what to do. He knew he had to get back to Earth, but how to do that?

"I'm Rich, Rich Witt," said Rich. "You can stop calling me sir, I'm really not used to that."

"Understood, sir, err, I mean..."

Commandramon's befuddled expression made Rich laugh. "You can call me Rich. Or sir, if you can't get that out of your system. Come on, let's start walking to...is there a town or other place we can stop by on our way?"

"File City, only about two klicks east of here, sir," answered Commandramon as he pointed with a claw. "Our ETA will be only an hour if we beat feet."

"Lead the way, then, and we can talk on our way about things."

Rich walked with Commandramon, listening to the details of this Digital World with Digimon, Digivices, and Digi-Destined.

The canopy of trees soon thinned out, and Kris and Gatomon found themselves outside of the woods. Kris would occasionally gaze at the sky, finding strange lines along the clouds that reminded her of the tiny bands she'd seen on microchips. It certainly was different from Earth, she could tell that much.

"Say, Gatomon. Do you know how long it will be before we reach this 'File City?'" she asked at one point.

"No telling. All we have to do is keep following this path," the feline Digimon answered back.

"Okay." The girl's gaze returned to the clouds, letting her mind wander. Then, for some odd reason, things got... weird...

There was a sort of flash of bright light in front of her eyes. She wasn't on the path with Gatomon anymore, she was in a strange room which looked like some sort of library, filled with numerous books. The cieling seemed very high up and circular, probably a dome. On one side of the room was what looked like a female angel. Her helmet obscured most her face and some sort of armor covered most her body, including half the dress or gown (Kris couldn't tell which) she wore. In her left hand, she held a shield and her right held a javelin.

She was flanked on either side by two other strange winged creatures, probably her servants, one horselike with an armored face, piercing blue eyes, and batwing-like ears with a golden mane and tail. The upper half of its underbelly and back where the the wings protruded from was covered in armor with a strange symbol inscribed in it, as well as its hooves. The other was catlike with a strangely statue-like human face and cat ears. Like the horse creature her chest area and back was also covered in armor. The large front paws, which were similar to Gatomon's, where protected by gauntlet-like armor, though the rest of the creature remained unproteced. The tail was also like Gatomon's, with thin purple thin stripes and tip.

On the other side of the room was a large group of dark shadowy figures, none of which Kris could really see. One of these figures stepped forward towards the angel and winged creatures.

"Ophanimon, you have been found out, and there is nowhere else for you to hide. You will tell us of what you have forseen. Of these 'DigiDestined', the so-called chosen ones who are said will liberate this world of darkness. I should mention that your life hangs in the balance. Shall you refuse, you will be eliminated quite swiftly."

"So, the time has finally come." The angel called Ophanimon stepped forward as well.

"Wait! Lady Ophanimon!" the winged creatures behind her called out.

"Fear not, Pegasusmon, Nefertimon," she addressed them. These evil ones shall not succeed."

"'Not succeed,' she says," the dark figure spoke. "My patience grows thin with you, Ophanimon. Will you tell me or not?"

"I shall not," the angel answered. "No matter what you do to me, fate shall run its course. You will only bring yourselves closer to your own end."

All was silent for the next moment. Then the dark figure drew a weapon. "Then so be it. I don't really like doing these things, Ophanimon. Had you simply given me the information, you would have lived."

The next thing that happened was a complete blur. To Kris' eyes, the dark figure vanished one moment, and the next, reappeared and ran his weapon through Ophanimon. A cry of pain like no other rang through the room. Kris gasped, covering her hands with her mouth.

"NO! LADY OPHANIMON!!" The horse creature called Pegasusmon shouted as the dark figure cackled with laughter.

"Your mistress is finished," he said as he withdrew his weapon from Ophanimon's limp form. It was covered something that looked like blood, but it was all pixels and stuff that looked like zeros and ones. "Lest you want to end up the same as she, you will tell me what I want to know."

At the figure's feet, Ophanimon's body dissolved into a sea of data and random code until she was completely gone. The data reformed into an egg about the size of a newborn human baby, possibly smaller, which he picked up with a free hand. "Well, what do you say?"

Nefertimon and Pegasusmon stood their ground. Suddenly, Pegasusmon lunged forward and rammed into the figure, growling, "NEVER!"

The egg was knocked from his hand and into the air. Nefertimon flew forward, shouting, "Golden Noose!" A golden rope ensnared the egg, which she carefully made sure landed on her back. At once, she headed for a strange orb-like structure located further behind her. Meanwhile, the figure threw Pegasusmon off him with a powerful attack and called to the rest of the dark group, his minions, "After her! Don't let her get away with that Digi-Egg!"

"Nefertimon! Take that Egg to safety! Hurry! Run! The Digital World depends on it!" Pegasusmon shouted at the top of his lungs.

The shadowy crowd surged forward, but were a moment too late. Nefertimon had already reached the orb, which began to glow with a bright light. It illuminated the whole room, blinding everyone. One of the smaller figures tossed something at the rapidly disappearing Nefertimon, which must have struck, for the last thing Kris heard was the Digimon's cry of pain before another voice drowned it out...

"Kris? Kris!"

Her eyes snapped open. The first thing she saw was Gatomon's face just inches away from her own, looking worried. "Kris, thank goodness, you scared me! Are you okay?"

"I think so, Gatomon... What... happened just now?"

"You're asking me that?! You're the one you just collapsed!"

Kris sat bolt upright, making the feline Digimon fall backwards. "Huh? I did?"

"Wait, you mean you didn't realize it?"

"I don't know. I was just looking up at the sky when all of a sudden, things got all loopy."

"Seriously, don't do that anymore," Gatomon snapped. "You really scared me, you hear? Come on now. Can you stand?"

Kris scrambled to her feet, giving her partner an annoyed look. "Well, that answer your question? I'm fine, really!"

"You sure?"

"Of course!" Kris started along the dirt path again. "I swear, you're starting to sound like my mother."

Gatomon simply stared at her blanky for a moment as she walked past her. "Kris? Can I ask you a question?"

The teenage girl paused and looked back. "Huh? What is it?"

The Digimon's ears drooped as she looked at the ground. "... Nevermind, it's nothing." She ran to catch up to Kris. "Let's keep going..."

Kris blinked once or twice, confused. What was with Gatomon just now? It's like she really had something on her mind just now...

"So I think I got this whole Digital World thing, and Digimon, and the Digi-Destined," said Rich as he and Commandramon made their way through the forest, ducking under low-hanging branches and over fallen trees. "But what I don't get so far is who would want to destroy this world."

"Unfortunately, neither do we, sir," grunted Commandramon as he hopped across a small gully, and turned around. He extended his hand out to Rich. "My organization, the D-Brigade, has been trying to uncover that. We've had some success, and that's why we knew that the Digi-Destined would be targeted by the enemy, but we don't know who is behind thugs like Demi-Devimon. All we do know, is that whoever it is intends on creating a new world order."

"A new world order?" Rich frowned as he measured the distance, then jumped after Commandramon and nearly lost his balance as he landed on the other side, but Commandramon hefted him up onto more solid ground. "But, couldn't they just do that peacefully? Why do they have to use trickery or violence to achieve that end?"

Commandramon shook his head as they continued on from the ravine. "I don't know, sir. Possibly because whoever it is doesn't want to play fair. They want the whole enchilada, and they don't want to share. So, please keep that in mind if we have to fight."

"Fight?" Rich gulped. "Do you think we'll have to?"

"I'm sure we will. That's why you've got me here; you humans couldn't fight if it came to a battle between Digimon. But just the same, I need you to get stronger, because if the intelligence is correct, sir, then you can help me Digivolve."

"Digivolve?"

"Digimon normally take a long time to gather enough data to grow into a new form," explained Commandramon. "But with a Digi-Destined and their Digivice, they can Digivolve a Digimon much more quickly. In fact, with the power of a Digi-Destined, a Digimon can Digivolve from their Rookie forms to Champion, Ultimate, and in a few cases, their Mega forms."

Rich held up his Digivice, looking at its screen and layout. It had a number of options that he briefly explored, absently. "I wonder how it works?" he asked. "I just hope we don't have to use this."

"Look, it's a road ahead."

Rich looked up; they stepped out of the forest and onto a road that ran alongside the woods. It startled him when a bus drove quickly past, as the woods had quieted the noise from the machine until they had gotten out of the trees. He briefly saw a number of strange creatures peering at him from the windows of the bus as it passed, leaving Rich and Commandramon in a cloud of dust, coughing.

"Wish we hadn't been seen," said Commandramon as he looked around warily. "It might be a good idea to lay low until we can reach File City; we should be safer there."

"Say, Commandramon, how many Digi-Destined are there, usually?"

"Well, there's usually at least three 'called' at a time, from what I understand. Why do you ask?"

Rich pointed at a boy with shiny blue hair and a dark humanoid canine Digimon. "Because I think we've run into one."

OOC: Okay, Eggpire, this is my attempt at starting up communication! But Peaches, Kaze, feel free to bring your characters here too if you like. File City probably makes another good meeting place.

Editing in a brief description here: Rich Witt is a 13-year-old boy with blue-black hair cut very short, with a stocky build. He is wearing a pair of green cargo shorts, plaid long-sleeve shirt over his light blue T-shirt, and he has lanyards hanging from each of his belt loops.

The bus could no longer be seen. Chonai Striken and his newfound friend, Neagteanmon, slowly continued towards File City! Stiken was still playing with his dual screened Digivice.
"Dude!" he excalimed paying no attention to anything around him, "This thing has Tetris on it!"
"Chonai," Negateanmon began stopping in his tracks as he noticed the new arrivals, "Chonai?"
"Woah I can turn on the holo-display and play it like that!"
Negateanmon slapped Chonai in the back of the head and pointed to Rich and Comandramon, "Look we got company, and digi-destined by the looks of it!"
"Digi-destined? Weren't we going to look for them?"
Negateanmon breathed out a small sigh, "Ah, yeah that was the plan ya' know!"
"Cool!"
Choani began running towards the two.
"Chonai wait! That might not-" Chonai wasn't paying attention, "Ah, crap!"
"Hey Digi-destined!" Chonia yelled at the top of his lungs running at them!
""Hey cut it out! You're going to scare them!" Negateanmon yelled as he chased after the young Striken.
Chonai came to a halt almost nose to nose with Rich.
"Hi I'm Chonai Striken!" he said as he held out his hand, "and you are?"

OOC: Welcome Tergonaut! I hope this is okay at starting up communication! If you need me to add more please let me know and I'll edit!

Kris sighed. This walk was taking forever. The only thing she could think of that was slightly worse was that Gatomon was acting a bit weird. Ever since she collapsed-- at least, that was what she was told, anyway-- the feline had been rather silent, and her ears were droopy. She looked... depressed. And if there was anything Kris couldn't stand, it was seeing others depressed.

Looking ahead, the teen girl thought she saw something in the distance.

"Gatomon, look! In the distance! Are those buildings?"

Gatomon's ears perked up, then twitched as she turned to Kris. "Huh?"

"Turn around," Kris said, pointing. "There's something ahead."

Gatomon looked ahead again, then her ears twitched twice more. "Oh, that's it. File City." She quickly scampered up a tree and onto one of the high branches to get a better view. "Yep, that's it alright," she confirmed, hopping off and landing on all four paws. We're not too far away now. If we hurry, we can get there in about twenty minutes."

"Twenty minutes?" Kris' heart sank. "We've been walking for nearly an hour! I'm hungry!"

"You can rest when we get there. Then we have to find out if there are any other humans wandering around here."

"R-right." Kris had almost forgotten about that. She couldn't be the only Digi-Destined here. Looking down at her Digivice, the blinking green dot had stopped right in the middle of their destination. If they could get there, they could find this other Chosen Child. Gatomon had told her some things, like about some evil thing bent on taking over the world, but even she didn't know much. Then there was that dream she had. What did that mean? Did it have something to do with what was going on? This was becoming too much...

Ten minutes passed. Kris took one look at her Digivice and sighed. This was still taking too long for her liking. Looking ahead, she could see something that looked like a large gate rising in the horizon. Gatomon must have seen it too, because she froze.

"A wall? That wasn't there the last time I was here!"

"Wait, this isn't normal?"

Gatomon shook her head. "No. I've never before. At least not the last time I was here," she explained. "Something must have happened. Kris, we have to get going." At once the feline Digimon took off running.

"But, what about looking for other Digi-Destined?" Kris asked breathlessly, chasing after her partner. "Shouldn't that come first?"

"We don't have too search anymore for now," Gatomon told her. "Look."

Kris looked ahead, and sure enough, as they neared, standing a fair distance away were a teenage boy and a dog-wolf-like creature. As though they had sensed their approach, they both turned around, making Gatomon freeze in her tracks. Kris came to a stop behind her, almost panting.

Everything was still for a moment, then Gatomon stepped forward and spoke. "Do not be afraid. I am not your enemy."

Her bright blue eyes locked onto the teenage boy. "You are a Digi-Destined, aren't you, human?"

OOC: I've been thinking a little bit about this, but for Digivolution purposes later on, should we stick relatively closely to the natural Digivolution of different Digimon as closely as we can, or can we choose a different Digivolution route if we want to? For example, if I wanted to have Commandramon Digivolve into GeoGreymon instead of Sealsdramon, could I do that? Note that I wouldn't have him be able to Digivolve to GeoGreymon or Sealsdramon as an option - once I'd chosen his next form, that would remain his Champion form for the rest of the story. What do you all think?

IC:
Rich blinked, but took the hand shyly as his other hand went back behind his head. "Uh, nice to meet you, Chonai...I'm Rich, Rich Witt. Oh, and this is Commandramon."

Commandramon nodded, then looked around Chonai at Negateanmon, who introduced himself as well. "I am Negateanmon."

Commadramon gave a curt salute, then pointed behind Negateanmon. "What about that girl over there? Is she with you?"

The four of them turned to see a girl in yellow ribbons and a catlike Digimon approach them. Everything was still for a moment, then the feline Digimon stepped forward and spoke. "Do not be afraid. I am not your enemy."

Her bright blue eyes locked onto the teenage boy. "You are a Digi-Destined, aren't you, human?" And she looked at the other one. "You, too?"

Again with this Digi-Destined business... thought Rich as he blinked. "Err, y-"

"That is classified information," snapped Commandramon as he stepped forward, putting himself between Rich and the others.

"Commandramon, that's rude!" blurted out Rich. "Besides, if humans aren't native to this world, then isn't it obvious what we are doing here?"

Commandramon grunted, a little annoyed, but he at least looked a little less threatening. "We have to be careful," he said, "there is so much riding on your shoulders right now. But if these humans have Digivices as well..."

(OOC: Just a minor mistake there, Terg. Kris doesn't have yellow ribbons. She's the resident gogglehead. On another note, I don't think sticking with natural evolutions would be required, I'm just sticking with it in Gatomon's case.)

IC:

Gatomon looked taken aback for a moment, but she stood her ground. "I wasn't talking to you," she shot back angrily at the cyborg, dragon-like creature, "I was asking the humans. Stand aside, or I'll rip you a new one."

"Gatomon, stop it," Kris said. "Now's not the time to be fighting."

"Tell that to Mister High-and-Mighty," Gatomon drawled.

Kris sighed, then turned to the cyborg dragon. "Look, we're only looking for others with Digivices like these." Adjusting her goggles nervously, she held up her keychain Digivice with her free hand. "I'm a Digi-Destined, too. The name's Kristal. You can call me 'Kris.' My partner Gatmon only wanted to know if those two boys are chosen kids, too."

The dragon creature examined the small device as though it were something extremely suspect. Kris was starting to think that he wouldn't believe her, even if she was telling the truth. Gatomon stood close behind her, glaring at him with an indignant look.

"You should listen to her. Like I said before, we aren't your enemies." She narrowed her eyes. "Still, you're just as secretive as ever, Commandramon."

OOC: Oops! My bad, Kaze. I'll just leave it unedited for now, so that your message still makes sense, but I'll remember that in the future. Don't know why I came up with ribbons.

IC:
Commandramon narrowed his eyes. "I have my orders. That is all."

Rich really didn't like this sudden hostility as the starting point of meeting other humans in this alternate dimension, so he quickly stepped forward between Gatomon and Commandramon. "Hey, hey! I think we're all on the same team here, so let's try to get along, okay?"

"Yes, sir," grumbled Commandramon.

"Besides, we have to get to File City before it gets dark." Rich nervously fingered one of the many lanyards tied around his belt. "Err, it gets dark here, right?"

"Indeed it does," Gatomon answered the boy plainly. "Are you afraid of the dark or something?"

Kris turned to Rich, then Chonai, who seemed to look on with little interest in the exchange. "So, you're headed to File City, too?" She asked them.

Both of them nodded. Rich was still nervously tugging at his lanyards.

"I apologize about Gatomon," Kris said gently. "She's a bit... weird."

"So are you humans," her partner said, hopping onto her shoulder. "Why are so full of energy now when just a minute ago you were complaining about being hungry?"

Chonai stifled a snicker. Kris set off walking at a brisk pace, nearly making Gatomon lose her balance. "Let's get going now, shall we?" she said hastily, beckoning the others. "Come on, you two!"

OOC: I'm finally back! No applause, please.

Peaches came to a stop and hunched over to catch his breath. "Wait up," he called to Canismon, who was far ahead of him, "I'm not as fit as I look!" He stood back up and began to jog as fast as he could to catch up without killing himself.

It wasn't long until they had reached the entrance to the town. A large wall surrounded the city, concealing all that was within its confines. A sign outside the wall read 'File City'. After finally reaching the solid steel gate, Peaches looked up to the top. "Whoa. They went all out with this thing didn't they?" He was referring to the many battlements and towers adorning the wall. It looked as if they were prepared for anything that had the guts to attack them.

"Hey!" A voice from above called out to them. "Who goes there?" Canismon joined Peaches look upward and they caught sight of a large white gorilla with a cannon instead of a right fore arm. "Ah, a tamer!" The digimon answered his own question. "First of many, I suppose." He looked out into the distance. "The bus is coming. Wait for it to pass through, then you can enter."

Suddenly, the sound of many locks opening inside the gate filled the air. The two halfs of the gate began to separate and slide into the wall, revealing the bustling street of File City. This central street passed straight through the city, to another gate on the opposite side of the wall. A bus came out from the tree line and sped down the road, leaving a trail of dust on the dirt road.

After it had passed through the gate, Peaches and Canismon entered the city. "Hey," The digimon on top of the wall called back to them, "If they look mean they, probably are. Words for the wise." The gate slid back together, sealing off the city from the outside world.

"Come on you two!"

"Oh, right!" Chonai called out, "to this city then?"
Negateanmon looked at his partner a bit puzzeled, "Is there something the matter?" the digimon asked, "You've been oddly quite the last few minutes! The look on your face isn't the plesant sight either!"
"I don't know Negat? I just feel kinda sick all of a sudden!" Striken grabbed his stomach and looked at the ground, "God, I don't think it was something I ate! Gurgh!"

Chonai feel to his knees and let out a deathly moan.
"Chonai!" Negateanmon gasped as he ran to his partner's side.
Chonai's sudden burst had also caught the attentions of Rich and Kris who were now also darting toward the downed Striken!

Choani began to gasp as if he was running short on suffiecnt air, and his eyes began to go bloodshot. He let out another cry of pain as he clutched at his neck! The mark that Myotismon had left upon the child began to sizzle as if it was just recently branded onto the skin! Chonai looked up at the sky as he heard the sounds of laughter ring through his ears. It got louder and louder, and Choani tried to cover his ears to block the noise!

"What's happening over here?" Kris said as she neared the two.
"It's Chonai! He just spazed out! I don't know what's happening to him!" Negateanmon said frantically!

Chonai felt a wave of relief drift over him as the sickness subsided.
"Never Forget!" an eerie voice said to the Striken as he began to black out!

"Striken! Striken!" Negateanmon yelled out at Chonai!

Choani slowly began to open his eyes. He grabbed at Neagteanmon who lended a hand and pulled himself up!

"I'm okay now! On second thought maybe it was something I ate!" Chonai said trying to crack a joke, "Anyways shall we continue moving?"

Negateanmon, Kris, Rich, adn their Digi partners stared at Chonai Striken unsure what to say!

Gatomon had been one of the first to reach Chonai, but she suddenly stopped just short. There was something about this boy, a strong sense of darkness about him. It was fleeting, enough to pierce the cultivated, cool, sometimes mischievous attitude she maintained; not to bring out anger like with Cyberdramon, she already couldn't stand that overgrown dinosaur thing, but fear.

And if she felt it, then maybe Kris had to feel it, too...

Though from Kris' point of view, it felt only like a bit of a chill. She had only reached out to Chonai to help him up, but decided against when he said he was fine. Crossing her arms, the girl said, "Well don't do that again. We wanna get to the city before it gets dark." She looked over to Rich and Cyberdramon. "Don't you two agree?"

OOC: That's sort of it for now. I don't think I've really got anything else until the group gets to the gate... and/or possibly through it.

Rich and Commandramon both looked at each other, and for once their thoughts seemed to be in unison. "Yeah," they agreed to Kris.

"Besides, if Chonai is sick or something, maybe they'll have a doctor in the city we can talk to," said Rich. "Or at least he can get some rest somewhere."

"But I'm fine, really!" Chonai's cheesy grin wasn't very convincing to Rich.

Commandramon pointed toward the city. "Sir, it's going to get dark soon. We'll need to double-time it if we want to get in before tonight."

Rich nodded. "Got it."

-------

The group quickly got to the gate, motivated by a certain sense of urgency after Chonai's incident. Rich himself was wondering why Commandramon seemed concerned about getting inside before it got dark, but he figured that just like in the human world, the Digital World wasn't as safe at night when things could happen in the dark without being detected...

"Hey, you there! Identify yourselves!"

Rich jumped at the loud, deep voice that grumbled from the top of the gate, and he looked up with the others to see a white-furred gorilla up on top of the gate. The gorilla's right arm was drastically different from its left, with wires sticking out of it and a cannon sticking out of the arm where his hand would have been.

But before he could reply, Gatomon waved up at him. "Gorillamon! Can you let us in?"

"Oh, it's you, Tail! And it looks like more Digi-Destined have arrived as well!" The big gorilla reached over for a level, and strained his non-cyborg arm to pull it. In front of them, the gates began to creak open until they revealed the way into the city.

"Wait," spoke up Kris as soon as the gates were fully open (and not creating thunderous noise from their clanking), "you said 'more' Digi-Destined have arrived. Does that mean you've seen others like us?"

"One other," grumbled Gorillamon as he gestured into the city. "But come inside, it's going to get dark soon - and in these times it isn't safe to be outside the city walls."

Commandramon didn't hesitate to go inside the walls, leading the way, though he did shoulder his rifle and seemed less tense once inside. "Sir, we've reached File City."

Rich had to admit that he was expecting File City to be, well...a little more like a city from back home, with skyscrapers and factories and that sort of thing. But File City looked more like a small town, although it was well-organized - most of the buildings were one-floor structures, organized into rows and columns throughout the city around a central dome that was the biggest structure inside the city. Each of the buildings looked like it came from an entirely different construction philosophy; one was a big Boy Scout tent, for example, while another was a thatched-roof hut, and yet another in the same row would look like a miniature cathedral.

The gates closed behind them, and just in time, too - as suddenly the sun fell out of the sky, quickly replaced by the moon.

"Wha?!" Chonai exclaimed. "But it was just daytime a second ago!"

"In the Digital World, night time falls quickly in many areas," explained Commandramon. "We should find shelter."

"But we also need to find that other Digi-Destined," pointed out Rich.

"You're both right... but where do we look first?" Kris asked. "It's not like we can walk up to the nearest Digimon, and-- Gatomon?"

Gatomon waving at a small gray bear with two small red stripes on either side of his muzzle wearing a backwards blue cap and what looked like a blue belt across his body and similar brace-looking things on his paws. As soon as his bright blue eyes caught spotted her, he tapped a larger, red reptile with batwing-like ears, white belly, and some sort of strange symbol on his chest. When he turned his head and saw Gatomon, he started charging at once.

"TAIL!! YOU'RE BACK!!"

The outburst badly startled Rich, who hid behind Commandramon. The others simply stared in blank disbelief.

"You must have really missed me, Guilmon," Gatmon said with a smirk, trying to pat Guilmon's snout. "I'll be here for a while this time."

The bear with the cap finally caught up with the reptile. "Forgetting someone, Tail?"

"No way, Kumamon," the feline Digimon addressed him. "How are things going?"

"Aside from crybaby Guil? Just fine. You don't need to worry 'bout us so much even though you just digivolved an' all." Kumamon straightened out his cap, just noticing the group of three humans and two Digimon standing a short distance away.

Guilmon must have noticed to, for he stomped past Gatomon and headed right for Commandramon and Rich, staring at Commandramon as though he were some sort of interesting new toy. "I've never seen a D-Brigade guy around here before. Do those weapons hurt?" He noticed Rich behind him. "Hey, are you a human?"

He suddenly froze for a moment, then found himself being dragged back by the tail by Kumamon. "Sorry about my buddy, he's always been curious," he apologized. "You guys friends with Tail?"

"Tail?" Chonai questioned.

"We really sort of just met," Kris said. "Um, you two know Gatomon?"

"Know her? She grew up with us!" Guilmon exclaimed.

"Hey Negat, do you know anyone here in this city...town...place?" Chonai began to trail off as he tried to understand where he was exactly.
"Negat? Why do you call me that?" Negateanmon crossed his arms and looked off in the other direction, "And no! No one I know should even be in this city!"
"Hey I thought I would dhorten your name down just a little, because Negateanmon is so Boooooring to say!" Chonai rolled his eyes as he drug out the "boring", "And what a bummer about you not knowing anyone in this city! Don't you get out alot? Ya' know go out looking for lady Negateanmon if you know what I mean?"
"What makes you think I'm not a lady Negateanmon?" He said with a smirk.
"Are you a lady Negateanmon?" Chonai shot back.
"Um.. well no.. I'm not."
"My point exactly! Your so boring even the lady Negateanmon don't even know you exist, and if I'm correct there proboably aren't that many Negateanmon left in the digital world!"
"Gah! Just leave me alone, besides," Negateanmon's eyes narrowed, "We still don't know if your okay or not! That was a pretty nasty outburst you took back in the woods! I think you might have suffered some sort of internal damge after your encounter with Myotismon!"

Negateanmon then turned to the Guilmon, "I'm sorry to interupt, but is there a hospital or someplace nearby where we can get my "friend" here checked out!"

Commandramon growled at the mention of Myotismon's name - while Guilmon and Kumamon cringed reflexively. "What do you mean, 'encounter?'" demanded Commandramon, reaching back with one cybernetic claw to his rifle. "Have you already been corrupted by evil forces?"

Rich remembered what Commandramon had said earlier when he had rescued Rich from DemiDevimon - that there was an evil that wanted to take advantage of the Digi-Destined. Was this "Myotismon" character one of the bad guys? "Whoa, hold on there," he said hurriedly, trying to prevent his partner from starting a fight by placing himself in the way. "Let's not jump to conclusions, what we need to do now is get him checked out by someone who knows what they're doing."

Commandramon snorted. "If he's been turned against us, it's already too late."

"Wait, we don't even know if that's the case yet!" Kris said to Commandramon. "Why don't we just wait until we've had a chance to rest first, huh?"

"Kumamon," Gatomon asked,"Is old Jijimon still around?"

"Sure thing. Guilmon and I can take you there," he answered.

"As long as Mister Negat doesn't say that bad name anymore," Guilmon added. "The 'M'-word."

"And why is that?" Chonai asked indignantly."Don't tell me it's forbidden."

"Not really," Kumamon said, "But that guy sent his goons here a while ago and attacked the city. No one really knew why. Come on, We can talk about it on the way to Jijimon's."

"Well, there is something else, too," Rich said. "We're looking for another person that may have come here with a Digimon, like us."

Guilmon tilted his head sideways. "Another human? I can't say I have." He turned to Kumamon. "What about you?"

The bear simply shrugged. "I dunno, either."

"We'll have time to figure this out," Gatmon addressed the group. "As pressing as matters are, you can worry about it tomorrow. It's already nighttime, and most Digimon are heading home now. We should do the same."

"If he's being turned against us, it's already too late." these words spoken by commandramon rang through Chonai's head over and over again. His mind drifted back and forth from the encounter with the deadly Myotismon to what Commandramon said.

"Ya' know I picked you personally...You can help me acheive perfection!" These words seemed to prove Commandramon's point on him being turned against the destined.

Chonai whispered to Negateanmon, "Hey, Negat!"
"What" He whispered back.
"What if I am becomeing...ya' know...a servant for Lord Myotismon?"
"LORD Myotismon?" Negateanmon said raising an eyebrow.
"Myotismon or whatever! What if what that Commandershaun guy is right! Will he like...ya' know... have to put me down like in those zombie movies?"
"Zombie movies?" Negateanmon said obviously not knowing what Chonai was talking about, "I think you'll be okay! Your partner Digimon should hatch before Myostismon could even possibly get to you, and trust me, If anyone is capable of curing this "so called" curse your partner is the one you want the most!"
"So everyhting is going to be okay?"
"Of course!"
"I'm still not sure so I'm gonna ask Commandraclone!"

Chonai caught up with Commandramon and tapped him on the back, "Sorry Commanderguy, but I'm still wondering what you said about it being to late for me? Does that mean I'm going to die? I don't want to die!"
Commandramon narrowed his eyes at the young human.

It wasn't long before night came. Street lamps illuminated the streets, casting eerie shadows across the ground. Though he wasn't necessarily afraid of the dark, Peaches was glad to have Canismon next to him. They walked for a while and stumbled upon a street lined with stands of many different variations. Many of them seemed to be closed, but a few of them were just beginning to put out their wares.

They passed a few of them, the digimon merchants beckoning to them, attempting to sell them something. Peaches paid them no attention, until one of the merchant caught his eye. This one wore a brown cloak, the hood shrouding its face, and his stand was completely void of merchandise, as if he had nothing to sell. As like the other merchants, he beckoned to the two, but this time Peaches approached, his curiosity getting the best of him.

"Hello there.", a voice reached out from under the hood, it was strained with age, but kind. "You're new to this land, are you not?" Peaches looked at the figure, thinking he had been stalked, then remembered that he was human and all the other inhabitants of this world weren't. "Yes.", Peaches answered cautiously. "What exactly are you selling here?" The cloaked figure raised its arm in the air, "Wisdom. Advice for those who need it." , it said with much enthusiasm. "And I have some just for you.", it pointed at Peaches with a hand hidden under the brown cloth. "I'm sorry," Peaches said, "but I don't have any... uh, money."

He began to walk away, but stopped as the figure threw his arms out, as if trying to use some power to stop him. "No, no, no. No charge. You need these words to much." Peaches felt a sort of fear roll down his spine at those words. He didn't know why, though. The figure motioned for him to come closer.

"There are those who wish to control the digital world. They will stop at nothing to please their master. They are everywhere and it will stay that way, unless someone stops them. Your destiny is decided, but you must make the choice, anyway. What you choose is of no concern to me, but let no one make the decision for you.", the figure paused and looked to the end of the street. As it continued, it spoke faster and with fear on its tongue. "Keep an eye out for those who bear a mark. It is a symbol of evil. Do not get it confused with another, as friendship you make here may not last if you do." Peaches began to look to where the figure had looked but was stopped. The figure had reached out and grabbed his shirt. "Listen to me, boy! They have more control than anyone thinks. They're pulling strings invisible as the wind."

"THERE HE IS!", A voice boomed from down the street. It was the gorilla from the gate. He rushed toward them, followed by a half-man, half-horse creature wearing a helmet. "Do not forget these words!" the figure said before it rushed down the street and turned down an alleyway. The gorilla stopped next to Peaches and Canismon, while the centaur gave chase. "Are you alright?", the gorilla asked. Peaches nodded in response. "We've been hunting him for weeks now. He's a supporter of them. He seems to want to target the Digi-Destined now. If you see him again while your here in File City, you just look for me, Gorillamon." He gave them a smile with his large gorilla teeth.

Peaches was about to say something, but was stopped by the centaur digimon, who had aparently lost the hooded figure. "He just up and disappeared. No telling how he did it." He looked down at Peaches, a single eye visible through the helmet. "This is Centarumon.", said Gorillamon, "One of the best on the File City Guard. If you can't find me, you look for him. I wish you luck in your travels, Digi-Destined. We must get back to the station. Being on the Guard has regulations, and one of those is checking in every few hours." Peaches noticed a black symbol on Gorillamon's cannon. It was a black star with a square part of it missing in the center. Gorillamon obviously noticed him looking. "I see you've taken notice of our new symbol. We decided the guard needed something, so we could stand out. We chose this one. All the guard members have one." He pointed to the same symbol on the left side of Centarumon's chest. "That should help you find us when you need to."

Gorillamon and Centarumon began to walk away, then stopped. Gorillamon turned back to them, "Before I forget, a few more Digi-Destined entered the city just before I got off of gate duty, if your interested. Once again, good luck and goodbye." At that, they turned and left the street.

Canismon looked up at Peaches. He had been so silent, that Peaches had almost forgotten that he was there. "Other Digi-Destined, Will. Think we should look for them?" Peaches looked back at him, "Well its not like we can take on a legion of evil on our own. I say we look for them."

They turned back the way they came, heading back to the gate they had entered from. With any luck, the other Digi-Destined might still be around there.

Commandramon answered Chonai's desperate plea with a snort. "I didn't mean that you would die, human. I meant that if you've chosen to serve evil, then it is already too late for us to turn you back. And if that's the case..."

Negateanmon's fist and Commandramon's rifle barrel were at each other's throats in the next instant in front of Chonai. "His name is Chonai, and you will respect him as the Digi-Destined he is," growled Negateanmon dangerously.

"And my name is Commandramon," snorted Commandramon. "And no being that serves the evil side - Digi-Destined or not - will get away from me."

Rich broke in between the two Digimon. "Hold it, hold it! C'mon, of course we aren't gonna let the bad guys get away, but we're all friends here - and until anyone proves otherwise, we're going to treat them like friends." Rich turned to Commandramon. "Now put that away and shake hands with Negateanmon, then apologize to Chonai for being so rude."

Commandramon bit his lip as he looped the rifle's carrying strap over his shoulder, then turned to Negateanmon and shook hands. Then he turned to Chonai, his yellow eyes burning, but he spoke slowly and carefully. "I apologize, Chonai, for being so rude."

"There!" Rich beamed, feeling the tension in the air roll off his shoulders. "Now let's go to this Jijimon's place and settle down for the-"

"Look!" called out Guilmon as he pointed down the street at two dark figures. "Who do you s'pose those are over there?"

Rich turned with everyone else to see another human boy along with a canine Digimon come out of the darkness...

A blonde female ran across the rooftops. Several helicopters soared overhead. The night held no moon in the sky. The only illumination came from the frantic serach lights from the choppers. The female was being hunted.
"Miss Vale there is no point in running away!" a male voice rang out from the first chopper, "If you keep up this chase then we will have no choice but to put you down!"

The female stopped and glared at the chopper, her green eyes reflecting in the light pointing in her direction, "I didn't do anything, but think for myself! What sin have I comitted! Your system is corrupt, and I wish no affiliation with it!"

"Shelly, you chose to serve evil-" the voice began, but was cut short.
"Then if that's the truth, it is already too late!" she said as she turned to flee once again.

The man driving the chopper looked down at the control pannel in front of him. A tear slowly made it's way down his face as he pulled up his radio.
"Miss Vale I'm sorry it had to come to this!" he turned the radio on, "You have my orders...OPEN FIRE!"

This scene from one of Chonai's favorite movies, Innocent Evil, replayed over and over again through his mind. The young lad kept pictureing himself in heroine Shelly Vale's shoes running away from the corrupt organization. Now there was no way that these digi-destined were anywhere close to a corrupt government organization, but the situation Choani thought he would soon be in was similar.

Chonai began to whisper once again to his digi-partner, "Hey Negat, ummm..."
Negateanmon turned to Chonai and let out a wry smile, "Yes?"
"Thank you for defending me against Comandermon!" Chonai seemed a little worried about his future, "I didn't think you cared so deeply abou-"
"I told you I was going to be your partner," Negateanmon interupted, "It's best we should look out for one another! The last thing we need is rumours spreding about a corrupted digi-destined unless you want every peace loving digimon at your throat! Commandramon has good intentions, but he is a seasoned warrior. He's very heroic, but it also leaves him very cold! He wants nothing more than to see the digi-destined thorugh on thier journey, and he is proud to be a part of being a part of the adventure whatever it may be. He just doesn't want to see us fail when the time comes!"
"Wow Negat! I didn't know you and Comandermon was such great friends!" Chonai said jokingly.
"Well when you live as I do you tend to hear alot whether it be good or bad!" Negateanmon crossed his arms and looke at the others in thier small group.
"Ya'know Nega-" He was cut short.
"Look!" called out Guilmon as he pointed down the street at two dark figures. "Who do you s'pose those are over there?"

Chonai and Negateanmon took several paces forward to catch up with the others. They gasped as they saw another human in the distance with a canine digimon by his side.

"Digi-destined!" Chonai exclaimed!

Kumamon straightened his cap. "He sure looks harmless enough. What do you think, Tail?"

Gatomon had been staring straight ahead the whole time in silence, ears twitching slightly. "That must be him... the one we've been looking for. I can feel it..."

"Eh? Feel what?" Kris asked.

"Beats me," Kumamon said. "Tail's always been weird like that, but she's never been wrong. Not even once."

Peaches approached slowly and as casually as he could muster.

As they drew to the point of confrontation, he realized he didn't know what to say.To his surprise Canismon was silent as well.

There were three of them. A boy with large reptilian digimon wearing a helmet and carrying an M16. A girl with a odd cat... thing. And a strange blue haired boy with an even stranger fox digimon.

There was an empty silence...

Time seemed to slow down to a halt. No one moved or said anything.

Kris couldn't even tell how long they were all standing there. Looking at the newcomer and his cloaked canine companion, she simply crossed her arms and smirked.

"So much for trying to look for the last Digi-Destined," she joked. "Looks he's found us first."

Guilmon lumbered over to the boy, eying him childlike curiosity, much to Kumamon's dismay. The bear grabbed the giant lizard by the tail again and dragged him back. "There's no need for all that, Guilmon, he's a human like Tail's friends, alright?"

"He is?" Guilmon scratched his head with a long, sharp claw. "Oh, ok."

The others didn't know whether to groan or shake their heads in embarrassment. Kris, deciding that enough was enough, walked right up to the boy. Standing just a few feet away from him, she reached out with her right hand. Gatomon had followed suit, and climbed onto her shoulder.

"The name's Kristal, but you can just call me Kris. This is my partner Gatomon."

Gatomon simply nodded. "I apologize about my friend Guilmon," she said calmly. "He's always been overly... curious. They were just going to take us to a place to stay for the night. Perhaps you and your companion would like to travel with us?"

----
Elsewhere, just outside File City...

"Yes, Master, they're all gathered together now. We can also confirm that the Gatomon known as 'Tail' is partners with the human girl-child."

A dark figure stood in a tree overlooking the city wall, eyeing a small group of humans and Digimon through some sort of spectacles.

"Yes, very good, my servant. Very good indeed."

"Shall I order my men to commence attack?"

"You need to find away around that barrier first. Then there is the city guard to contend with."

"Do not worry, Master. We still have several agents within the city. They will inform us when the defence has been weakened, as I will relay to you."

"Very well, then. Do not fail me."

"Yes, Master."

He reached out and accepted the hand in a friendly grip. "The name's William. Call me Peaches." That was all he said.

The trip to Jijimon didn't take that much longer, and the group was led to a small Oriental-style water garden palace near the center of File City. The moon overhead reflected in the pools of water, constantly running with water fountains of different shapes, sizes, and even colors. The doors to the palace opened, revealing a short old man with a heavy gray beard and hair, carrying a staff with an animal paw stuck onto the end.

"This is Jijimon," introduced Kumamon respectfully, and he addressed Jijimon in turn, "and these, Jijimon, are the Digi-Destined."

"My, my, they certainly are!" Jijimon inspected the group, though how he did so, Rich wasn't sure at all; with all of that hair on his head, it was difficult for Rich to tell if the old Digimon even had eyes! "You must all be tired from your journey. And most likely you will be hungry as well. Come inside, we shall talk over dinner."

Rich hadn't thought about it earlier in the excitement of being in a new world, but he was getting rather hungry. He just hoped the food would be good.

OOC: A little something to get us going there. Maybe Jijimon can explain what's going on?

"It's been a long time, Jijimon," Gatomon spoke up as the group stepped inside.

"Ah, Tail, I figured I'd be seeing you again sooner or later," Jijimon said. "I just wish the circumstances were better than this..."

"Wait," Chonai interjected. "Does this have anything to do with that crazy wall surrounding this whole place?"

"All in good time, child. For now, make yourselves at home."

Soon, they arrived in a large room at the end of a corridor. There was barely anything in it except for several pillows lined side by side in a half circle near a bookshelf. The children and their partners each took a seat. Jijimon, Kumamon, and Guilmon remained standing.

"Thank you for showing them the way here, you two. Tell Leomon that I wish for him to join me."

"It was our pleasure," Guilmon said.

"Will do, Jijimon," Kumamon added.

As the two of them walked out of the room, Kris spoke up. "Excuse me, Mr. Jijimon, but are you the elder of this town?"

"Yes," the old Digimon chuckled lightly, "Ever since File City was nothing but the tiniest village in the Digital World, before any of you young ones existed. I've even looked after and helped train young Digimon until they were strong enough to fend for themselves, including Tail and her two friends."

"Oh, I see."

"Now." Jijimon walked over to a pillow seat on the other side of the room. "Your meal will arrive in a few moments. Shall we discuss the matter at hand?"

OOC:Good stuff. Getting along nicel....... AH MAH GAWD, 3 PAGES! I didn't think it would get this far. No post at the moment. Hopefully I get a brainstorm of massive proportions in a few days. If not, I'll still post something.

EDIT:
IC:
He took a seat amongst the others, Canismon sitting next to him. The room was stuffy and smelt of old people. Jijimon looked like really hairy prune. If it wasn't for the robe and appendages, he might have been mistaken for just that.

There was a moment of silence after Jijimon had sat down. There were many questions floating around in Peaches' head, but he couldn't verbalize them. He had felt strange ever since his arrival. Even stranger when he met Canismon. Stranger than that after meeting Kuwagamon. Even stranger than that wandering the city and talking to that strange merchant, Gorillamon, and Centarumon. He felt kind of strange meeting with the other Digi-Distilled, or whatever they were. But this was the strangest of all. Sitting here, talking to some furry, prune-looking digimon, who says he the elder of this town. He didn't see himself doing this a week ago.

A week ago he was back on his world, chilling out, enjoying summer break. Doing absolutely nothing..... Perhaps this would turn out okay.... or not. He had no idea what events might unfold.

He sat, trying to force his words out of his throat, trying to contemplate someway to ask the questions beating on the inside of his skull like mallets. But he couldn't do it. Was it the situation, the stress? He had no idea. Perhaps it was the stuffiness of the room? Was his throat too dry to make any kind of communication? Rather doubtful, but possible. Maybe it was the room of others? He was never that good around people. Especially people he didn't even know. So he sat, no matter what it was, he couldn't, wouldn't, say anything. So he sat.... silent.

He wondered different things during that silence. He wondered if anyone else had questions. He was sure they might. What if they were the same as his questions? That would make things easier. He could just wait for them to ask. But there was the possibility that they didn't have the same questions as him. Sooner or later, he would have to say something.... More than likely anyway. What if the digimon had questions? He thought that a weird question to ask himself. He knew near to nothing about these creatures. He didn't even know if he wanted to be involved in this! But he was, all the same.

So he sat... silent.

OOC: Just a bit of characterization. Boring, drab, and extended characterization.

Kris took her own seat as Gatomon sat to her left. As soon as everyone was settled, Jijimon began to speak.

"I actually had been expecting your arrival for sometime now, but now I'm not really sure where to begin... Ah, yes..." The old Digimon fiddled with whatever seemed to be his beard, though Kris couldn't tell; he really did look like a walking shag carpet.

"... I am sure that you have noticed the wall surrounding our town, young ones. This is but one of many places where evil ones have attacked to further their own evil goals. They are everywhere, I'm afraid, even within our own town. We do have what your world calls a police force, but it is difficult to find and catch them. For security reasons, we also screen anyone and everyone coming into our city, including all of you."

Kris couldn't help but notice the saddened look in Gatomon's eyes as Jijimon spoke. Sure, she barely knew her, but for some odd reason, she started to feel the same way. "Elder," Kris asked, "Why would anyone attack this town?"

The way Jijimon's head moved to look at the girl she could imagine that the look on his face was quite surprised. "Why, to search for and eliminate any Chosen Ones they find, whether they be human or Digimon." He looked towards Gatomon, who was staring at the floor.

"But, who's behind all this?" Rich interjected.

"We don't mention the name around these parts. Despite our apparent liveliness, everyone lives in fear. Things used to be peaceful, too.

"Long ago, our world was watched over three Angel Digimon who watched over the Digital World. They were Lord Seraphimon, Lord Cherubimon, and Lady Ophanimon. Together, they were known as the Council. Some time ago, evil descended upon the Digital World, with ambitions of overthrowing the Council and ruling the world. In its first move, it attacked Lady Ophanimon and took her life..."

Hearing this made Kris' heart skip a beat. Wait... that means my dream... was something that happened in the past?

OOC: I"M BACK!

IC:
Chonai sat and payed close attention to what the old digimon was saying! He was certain that this digimon knew a great dea, and was curious to see if he knew anyhting about Chonai's situation.
"Hey...um...JJ," Chonai interjected, "Would you happen to know anything about this...Myotismon?"

Jijimon seemed to get a little choked up at Chonai's question.

"Why, young lad," Jijimon began, "Do you wish to know about this foul digimon?"

Comandramon shoke his head left to right as he glared at the young Striken.

"Well you see upon my entry to this world I was attacked and he put some kind of mark or a curse or something on me! He said I will join him and I'm begi-"
Negateanmon's hand came down hard on top of Chonai's head!

"OWWW! YOU LITLLE-"
Neagteanmon grabbed Chonai by the shirt collar and whispered in his ear, "Unless you want every good upstanding citizen in this city to rain terror down upon you I suggest you keep such information to yourself!"
"Sorry!" Choani said, "Could you let go!"

Negateanmon released the human upon command then turned to Jijimon.
"We just had a run in with the "foul digimon" that's all!" Negateanmon said calmly.
"Sounds to me like there was a little something else said in that boys statement!" Commandramon said as his eyes narrowed at Striken.
"Let it rest Commandramon!" Negateanmon said almost sinisterly.
"Jollyjinmon," Chonai said as he appraoched the wise elder, "Am I in trouble? Will I die?"

Jijimon narrowed his eyes at the lad and began to speak.

"It's hard to tell as of now" he said, "Myotismon is a great threat in the digital world, but I am certain that he is not the one the digi world cowers in fear from! He is but one digimon who lusts for this power he can never touch. Maybe he hopes to use you to achieve that goal, maybe not! Nevertheless Myotismon will be a hinderance on your journey! Be careful child, darkness surrounds you! Never give into it not for a second! The digi world couldn't handle a corrupted savior!"

"Savior?" Chonai said puzzeled.
"Yes!" Jijimon said, "All of you are the hopes and dreams of the entire digital world! You are our saviors! Now is there anyhting else needing to be discussed?"

OOC: Believe me it sounded less choppy in my head! My apologies!

OOC: This post may surprise you and frighten young children. Reader discretion is advised.

Peaches suddenly noticed something as Jijimon turned slightly to the side. There was a mark on the top of his shoulder, hidden partly by the mass of hair on his head. It was the same mark that he had seen on Gorillamon and Centarumon. A star with a square part missing from the center. This didn't make much sense to him.

"Uh, Jijimon?" he spoke out after keeping silent this whole time. "Yes?" Jijimon answered happily.
"What's that on your shoulder?"
Jijmon looked as if he did not know it was there. "Oh, that's nothing. Nothing important, anyway."
"But Gorillamon told me that that mark was the symbol of the File City Guard."
Jijimon seemed to suddenly lose his cool. "Well, uh..."
"Do you help with the guard, as well?"
"Well, no..."
"Then why do you have the mark? It doesn't seem to make much sens...."

Peaches was instantly cut off as Jijimon slammed his staff down onto the table. "SILENCE! YOU LITTLE BRAT!" Jijimon's voice had instantly changed; it was deeper, it ripped through the air like the claws of a demon. "HE SAYS NOT TO HARM THEM, BUT I THINK THAT YOU'D ALL BE BETTER OFF DEAD. THAT WAY YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING STUPID!"

Jijimon's body began to ripple and change. "COME, DIGI-DESTINED, LET'S SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO! RAAAAHHH!!!!" His body begins to grow huge and muscular, the hair on his face whisps away in vapors, revealing a large-fanged dragon head, his clothes rip off as wings burst from his back, a large tail with an axe-like growth on the end unfurls and grows bigger. In no time, the calm, old Jijimon had transformed into a fearsome dragon creature, hunched down underneath the ceiling.

"NOW... YOU ALL DIE!!!" the Jiji-dragon through its head back, causing the roof to crumble, and let out a horrible roar. Peaches had a feeling that this probably wasn't the Jijimon that Tail and friends had known before.

OOC: How's that for a bit of a twist?

"Look out!" Gatomon pushed Kris out the way as a piece of debris landed right where she sat. Negateanmon and Chonai were already standing, looking on with quite the look of surprise on their faces. Commandramon stood protectively in front of Rich, rifle at the ready. William and Canismon had backed away to the remaining wall that hadn't been knocked down.

"No way," Chonai said. "No way is this happening. This is like somethin' outta monster movie!"
"Yes, way," his partner retorted gruffly.

Kris couldn't believe her eyes. Just a second ago, Jijimon, was, well, Jijimon...

"I should have known... it wasn't really him..." Gatomon growled. "Who are you, and what have you done with the elder of this town?"

"You precious Elder Jijimon was destroyed a long time ago, and I was to take his place. Long have I awaited the day the DigiDestined would arrive here. Now I shall claim your Digi-vices and your lives for my master. You, Tail, are an added bonus!"

"What are we supposed to do?" Rich asked worriedly.
"Prepare for battle," Commandramon stated plainly.

"But this is a bit too soon, ain't it? We just got here!" Kris exclaimed.
"You have to, if you don't want to lose your lives," Negateanmon said. "I suggest that you all listen to Commandramon, and do what you are supposed to do!"

"I'm no one's 'added bonus' you filthy scum!" Gatomon called out, launching herself at the dragon creature. "Cat Punch*!"

OOC: The only objection I have is that Rich's name is Rich, not Matt. XD;; Since MY name is Matt, I find it amusing. But it's no biggie in any case; in fact, I don't mind the extra license being taken if it helps move the story along.

IC:
Commandramon was instantly on his feet and prepared for battle. "M-16 Assassin!" he shouted out as he opened fire with his rifle, a three-shot burst of bullets flying from the barrel. The bullets were aimed high so that Gatomon wouldn't be in the way of the barrage, which struck the dragon creature in the head...but to no avail, the creature's scaled head was too thickly armored for the bullets to penetrate.

But that wasn't Commandramon's only weapon...and he heard Negateanmon relegate command to him. But even at that, he couldn't act further. "Sir!" he called out over the din as he leapt back to avoid the Jindragon's tail as it smashed into the floor where he had just been. "Permission to engage the enemy?"

Rich had no idea what Commandramon was doing as the human boy scrambled back away from the fight. What was he doing, asking questions in the middle of a fight like this!? It made no sense, Rich wasn't a soldier or a fighter!

But he remembered that Commandramon had been told to put himself at Rich's command - and right now it seemed smarter to let Commandramon fight the battle as he saw fit. "Permission granted!" he called out in a gasp.

Commandramon pointed at Negateanmon. "Negateanmon, strike at his right flank!" Then the lizard Digimon pointed at Canismon. "And you, go toward his left! I'll distract him from the front with Gatomon!"

"Hey, but what about us?" asked Peaches as he fingered his Digivice. "Can't we do anything?"

Commandramon quickly regarded the situation. These Digi-Destined humans hadn't proven very useful in a fight up to this point - that's why the Digimon partners were there to fight for them, wasn't it? But they did have Digivices, and those were supposed to grant great power...

"Try to get your Digivices to work while we proceed with the plan!" ordered Commandramon before dashing forward, pulling a grenade out of a pocket and arming it.

OOC: My bad. >< I did fix it, though. That's what I get for reading stories in Carni Isle before posting here. XD
--------------------------------------------

IC:

"You think those types of attacks will hurt me?!" the dragon roared as it knocked Gatomon away with one swipe of its claws.

Kris watched almost helplessly as her partner crashed to the floor. "Gatomon!"

"Don't worry about me," Gatomon said hoarsely. "Get your Digivice to work!"

Kris looked on as the cat Digimon hopped to her feet and proceeded to scamper her way up the dragon's hide. Furiously pressing buttons on her keychain-like Digivice, she grumbled. "Come on, help me out here! What am I supposed to do?!"

Gatomon's blue eyes were alight with fury as she reached the head of the dragon. Before she could attack, however, it started to thrash about in an attempt to shake her off.

"GET OFF ME!!" it roared, knocking down what remained of the room. "GET OFF, YOU INSECT!!"

"Oi, what's going on here?"

Gatomon, who had only realized her eyes were shut tight, opened them to see her friends, Kumamon and Guilmon down below.

No! They can't be here! Not now!

"Get out!" Gatomon shouted. "Run!"
