The jiji-dragon glared down at the newcomers. His eyes narrowed as he lunged out to the attack Guilmon. With lightning reflexes Negateanmon brought his right foot straight across the dragons face knocking him off balance!
"Don't worry Negat!" Chonai yelled out to his partner, "I think I'm close to getting this digivice to work!"
"Don't be an idiot!" negateanmon yelled back as he dodged an attack from jijimon's tail, "I'm not conected to your digivice! I'm only a temporary partner, remember!"
"Well who said we're supposed to use these things on you anyway!"
"This is not the time for that!" Kris shot out as she quickly pushed Chonai out of the way!
No sooner than this happened when a huge chunk feel from the ceiling and crashed right where Striken was standing.
"Kunamon, Guilmon!" Gatomon shouted, "You guys have got to get out of here!"
Jiji-dragon let out a sharp chuckle as his tail blocked the exit!
"NO ONE SHALL BE LEAVING!" his eyes narrowed, "BESIDES YOU JUST ONLY GOT HERE!"
"WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!" Chonai yelled, "You were so nice only mere moments ago! You even gave us information!"
"What's the best way to lure one's prey," Jiji-dragon began to laugh, "Give them exactly what they want and they will always play into your hands!"
"Sparkling Vortex Pistol!"
A massive blue energy blast smashed into the right side of jiji-dragon's face! He lost his balance and crashed to the ground.
"The digital world has went though many changes!" Negateanmon said as a faint blue smoke drifted from his extended left hand, "They say give it enough time and even the most trusted beings can slowly turn to evil!"
"I already told you! I was just a replacement for Jijimon! Don't get me confused with with that other softie that you folks call "elder"! Ha, elder is just another term for weak and frail! NOW DIE!"
Jiji-dragon cahrged once again! This time his target was the digi-destined themselves!
"KOGUMA SEIKENZUKI!"*
"PYRO SPHERE!"
Kumamon's fist met the Jiji-dragon's jaw head-on while Guilmon's attack struck its chest.
"No way we're leaving you, Tail!" Kumamon shouted. "You remember our motto, right? 'When the going gets tough, we get tougher!'"
Guilmon simply roared in agreement. Gatomon allowed herself a moment to smile. "'That's why we don't back down from nothin'!'" she finished, leaping off the Jiji-dragon, rebounding off a falling piece of debris back at him with an outstretched paw. "CAT PUNCH!"
"YOU DARE COME AT ME WITH THE SAME ATTACK TWICE?! I KNEW I WAS EXPECTING TOO MUCH FROM A REBORN CELESTIAL DIGIMON WHO CHOOSES TO PARTNER WITH A LOWLY HUMAN!!" The Jiji-dragon swiped with his claws, knocking her into the still falling Kumamon, and the both of them crashed right on top of Guilmon.
"Gatomon!" Kris called out. She returned to mashing the buttons on her Digivice, even as the shadow of the Jiji-dragon loomed over her, William, Rich, and Chonai. Even Canismon's Power Bullets, Commandramon's onslaught of weaponry, Negateanmon's energy attacks, and Gatmon's close-range combat with Kumamon and Guilmon lending their own support for their friend only seemed to serve as minor annoyances now.
"Come on, don't leave us hanging! Our partners need our help... I don't want them to get hurt, just give us all some sort of way to help them!"
*Koguma Seikenzuki: Little Bear Thrust. Also called Bear Fist.
Rich looked at the Digivice hanging from one of the lanyards at his belt, and picked it up. He glanced up at Commandramon, who threw his grenade at the Jijidragon but was not only ineffective, but the military Digimon was swept aside by the monster's swinging tail. He then glanced back down at the others with their Digivices, and at the other Digimon, to see how hard they were fighting.
Do we have to fight? This monster doesn't look like it's going to stop, and it's going to kill us...all because of some prophecy or other. This is really serious! How can we deal with something so powerful...
Staring at the battle, a little shell-shocked, Rich was struck by the loyalty of these Digimon who had only met him and the other humans for a day, yet were fighting for their lives against this monster to protect them, the humans, the outsiders who had brought so much conflict and trouble into their world just by being there. Touched by this, he raised his Digivice to look at its screen, as if searching for something within it...
"Why do you seek power?"
Rich blinked. The voice felt like it was inside his head, and at first he wondered if he had really heard it. But it was unmistakeably real. Because I need to protect them!
"Then power you shall receive, Digi-Destined."
The Digivice shone with the symbol of a crest, and out of the corners of his eyes he saw the other Digivices reacting in the same way. Did they hear the voice too? he asked, but he felt a strong impulse, and pointed the Digivice's screen at Commandramon. "Commandramon - DIGIVOLVE!"
A ray of light shot out of the Digivice and wrapped around Commandramon, who rose up from the ground and begin glowing himself. "Commandramon, Digivolve to..."
But his growly voice changed as he transformed, his body growing bigger until he was nearly three times Rich's height, and became longer and lankier in his build. The light sparkled away, revealing Commandramon's new form as a more humanoid dragon wearing armor all over his body, including a helmet with a high crest on top of the head and a pair of goggles with different eyepieces. The new Digimon suddenly whipped out a knife from a sheath that popped out from the side of his armored leg, and held it out, the blade down in the hand. "Sealsdramon," finished the Digivolved Commandramon, his voice now smooth with a slight mechanical tone.
So this is what they were talking about, thought Rich as he saw Commandramon's new form, could almost feel the new power burgeoning within him. "Sealsdramon! Let's stop that thing before it causes any more damage!"
"Roger, sir," breathed Sealsdramon.
OOC: You guys can use this to Digivolve with everyone else; I haven't specifically set what Crest goes to who or whether there are even different crests showing on each Digivice, but that's something that may or may not be important anyway.
OOC: Dunno if the same crests from Digimon Adventure are being used, if at all, but I found this through Google. It'll help if one decides to use one of these.
IC later. Or when everyone else Digivolves.
He stared in astonishment. The one digimon had changed into a bigger one. "Wha.... I... Uh...."
"Look out!" Canismon leaped toward him and knocked him down just as the dragon's tail swiped at where his neck was seconds before. "Come on, we have to take this guy down." Peaches looked at him. "We? I can't...." It was then he remembered the Digivice on his hand. "Alright. You keep at it and I'll figure out how to work this thing." He activated the Digivice and tried to think. Come on, come on. We need something. Like that other guy. We need to change. To get bigger. Yeah, and stronger! Peaches suddenly threw up his arm, a bright light shooting from the Digivice. "TAKE HIM DOWN!"
Canismon rushed forward, gun in hand, then stopped. "What.... What's this feeling?" The emblem on his chest glowed intensely. "Yes. I can do this." Canismon leapt into the air, a bright light emanating from him. "Canismon shinka!...."
He came down, his form changed. He was standing on all fours, his body now more of a wolf than a human. The cloak had disappeared, along with the pants. The straps and emblem still remained upon his chest, and a large sheath on the back of the straps containing something resembling an oversized version of Canismon's knife. He breathed out a single word with his now deeper and ominous voice, his name. "Lupusmon."
OOC: His gun is also gone, by the way.
OOC: I was envisioning that this would be the opportunity for the entire group to go through their first Digivolution, and take down this mutated evil Digimon. But as I think about it, maybe not everyone got that same idea. Do we want to wait for everyone to post their digivolutions, or just go ahead and fight this thing and see how it progresses? Someone unable to Digivolve at this point would be kind of interesting. Although I guess Negateanmon can't Digivolve because he's not "really" the partner there, so maybe we're just waiting for you, Kaze. XP
Just posting to see about this detail before pushing on.
OOC: I'll have mine written up in a bit then. Considering this partner's is already a Champion level, I was thinking to include another "clue" to the characters as to who she really is... at least mine, anyway, if it's alright. I kinda snuck one in there on my last post.
IC:
Kris almost dropped her Digivice as it gave off a bright flash, and a strange crest symbol appeared on its screen. It was strange, she felt as though she had seen it before somewhere as she stared at it, a small circle surrounded by large and small diamond shapes. It felt warm, soothing. It felt as though a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
"What is it that you wish for?"
Kris was surprised to hear the voice at first, it felt like it was right in her mind. Looking at the unconscious Guilmon and Kumamon trying to wake up an unmoving Gatomon in his arms, she closed her eyes and thought, I want to help them. I want to help these Digimon so they won't get hurt anymore.
"Then your wish is granted, Chosen One of Light."
As though it were something she must do, Kris held out her Digivice toward her partner. "TAIL!!"
The light from her Digivice flew out and struck Gatomon's form, illuminating what remained of the Elder's home and the night sky.
"Gatomon shinka…!"
Most everyone that was there was nearly blinded by the light from their partners' evolutions. Gatomon was no exception as she floated a few feet in mid-air. Her form completely changed from beast to a humanoid angel. Her face became covered by a winged mask that covered most her face, her left arm covered in a long winged glove. She wore what looked like a white bodysuit which covered most her body except for the belted middle and her right leg. Her boots were mismatched, the right almost feather-like and the other almost a part of her clothing, and a long pink cloth flowed in the wind, wrapped loosely around her wrists. Her eight wings and long blonde hair seemed to glow in the moonlight.
As she gracefully floated in mid-air with her arms at her sides, she said, with an air of finality as the light finally dissipated, "Angewomon."
Kris stared on in disbelief for a moment, but regained her composure and said, "Angewomon! Be careful!"
Kumamon groaned and started to stir, as did Guilmon. When they caught sight of Angewomon, instead of staring blankly like Kris, they smiled and cheered.
"Who knew you had it in you, Tail?"
"Go for it!"
Angewomon simply nodded before saying, "Please stand back. Things are going to become more dangerous."
OOC: Due to personal reasons, I'm leaving this RP. Thanks for the fun; I did like being here. If you want, you may use Rich Witt and Commandramon as NPCs or if everyone agrees, someone can take them on as their own characters; if not, then simply go on as if they never entered the scenario.
OOC: Okay. Sucks to see ya go, though. I'd like to keep Rich and Commandramon around. I guess as NPCs for now. Also some other related news. The Eggpire unfortrunately might not be posting for a while. So he wanted his characters to be NPCs until he got back...... So. I guess its just you and me, Kaze. For the time being, anyway. No post right now. I'll put one up soon, though.
EDIT:
IC:
Lupusmon instantly got into the action, leaping at the dragon's head. "Let's take this guy down!" His paws slammed into the dragon's face, but to no avail. He kicked backwards to dodge an incoming swipe from the large claws. Flipping backwards through the air, he twisted his head and took the handle of his weapon with his teeth. He landed gently, whipping his blade out and rushing forward.
The dragon brought its claws down hard, only to be met with the cold steel held by Lupusmon. He struggled under the strength of the Jiji-dragon for a moment before giving into the attack and rolling out of the way. Lupusmon looked to the others. "Come on! I can't take him alone!"
His comment was followed by a blue blast smashing into the dragon's chest. Negateanmon lept to Lupusmon's side. "Get in there! I'll cover you!" Lupusmon charged the monster again, ready to continue the assault.
OOC:LET'S ROCK 'N ROLL!!!
Sealsdramon followed suit along with Lupusmon, momentarily disappearing in a burst of speed and reappearing right in front of the dragon's forehead.
"Death Behind," he breathed before striking with his weapon.
The dragon's claws blocked the attack, although this time he suddenly shrank back and roared in fury. There was a long slash mark on the mutated creature's arm.
Angewomon swooped in with a kick attack on the Dragon's head, but she barely avoided a swipe of it's other clawed hand.
Noticing this, a thought suddenly occurred to Rich. "I wonder..."
"What's the matter?" William asked.
"Well, you notice how when they keep going for the head, those claws get in the way?"
"Yeah, and they keep gettin' knocked back," Chonai said. "What're you goin' on about?"
"Well, every boss has a weakness or two, right? That dragon monster's got to have a few." The young teen pointed to the slash mark, which was now dripping red and gray-blue pixels. "The hide around his arms can't be as tough as everywhere else, considering no one got a cut off him before now, and his head."
William nodded. "I see. So if the arms are attacked, then the won't defend the head, right? Nice idea, Rich."
"Th-thanks."
"There's only one way to really know for sure," Kris said.
Chonai shrugged, telling Rich, "All right then, do your thing."
Rich nodded, then called out to his partner, "Sealsdramon! Find out if this guy has a weak point!"
"Yes, sir."
"Angewomon! Cover him!" Kris added.
"Alright, Kris."
Sealsdramon dropped back a few feet, a somewhat safe distance away from the dragon so as to not get hurt by swiping claws. Kumamon and Guilmon cheered on from behind him, waving their hands in the air, which was about all they could do since they were in no fit state to fight. Angewomon moved in front of him and held both hands out in front of her. "Heaven's Charm!"
A cross-shaped barrier appeared in front of them, shielding them from the dragon's claws as Lupusmon and Negateanmon continued their assault. Angewomon looked back at Sealsdramon. "Now!"
Sealsdramon merely grunted in reply and focused his sights on the Dragon. "Scouter Monoeye!"
OOC: Drumming up a bit of dialogue among the humans. o.o
OOC: I'm still here, but there are things happening in my life right now that will have imapct on my online time in the future! When this does happen it will happen all at once and be for several weeks then I'lll resume. During this time I'll let Peaches know and my character will be played as NPC if that's cool with you guys! In the meantime how about an...
IC:
"WEAKNESS?" Jijidragon snarled, "BAH! I've got no weakness!"
The jijidragon swiped his massive claw in Negateanmon's direction, but he just ducked and rollled right in between the dragon's legs!
Chonai was shaking. Never in his life had he dreamed he would be up against a beast of this caliber. It was unreal, and he wasn't sure if he was going to make it out alive!
"But then again would it really matter?" Striken thought to himself, "It isn't like I've got anybody to return home to!"
Chonai lowered his chin and gazed at the brightly lit screen on his digivice. An image of an egg was bounceing up and down on the display! This was Chonai's original partner digimon before the Myotismon incident! Patamon.
"Would you have been able to help out in this moment?" Chonai thought glareing at it and then at Negateanmon who was far underpowered when compared to the other digi-partners.
"Sealsdramon hurry!" Chonai said calmly!
OOC: I know it's short, but don't worry I'll still be around for a little while longer! This just my post to say I'm still game!
Sealsdramon looked as though he were in deep concentration for a moment longer. Angewomom gazed expectantly at him. Sealsdramon suddenly pointed directly at the Jiji-dragon's forehead. "There. There seems to be something disturbing about that area," Sealsdramon grunted.
Angewomon nodded. "I hope you're right."
"There's more. Despite the brute strength of those claws, it seems that his skin isn't as thick there."
"So we can divide our attacks?" Lupusmon asked.
Sealsdramon nodded. "Your orders, sir?" he addressed Rich.
Rich looked lost for a moment, then it occurred to him that he was being spoken to. "Uh, right. Try to find a way around his claws, even if you have to hack them off!"
"Yes, sir."
"Hang in there!" Kris shouted as Angewomon and Sealsdramon headed off to help the other two digimon.
"So, is that all you can think of?" Chonai muttered.
"I'm still thinking, cut me some slack," Rich told him.
IC:
Lupusmon took a running jump at the dragon's left claw, whipping his body into a spin in mid-air. His blade glowing as he shot downward.
"Spiral Blade Dance!"
His attack was met as the dragon swung back-handed at Lupusmon. The attacks collided, causing a shower of sparks as Lupusmon's sword scraped past the claws, sending him into the ground.
Lupusmon rolled a few feet, then managed to pick himself up. "Come on! A little help would be nice!" , he growled.
Negateanmon moved to his side. "I'm trying, but its kinda hard when you're trying to take him down on your own!" Lupusmon turned to him. "Just shut up and cover me!" He rushed forward again, slashing at the dragon's legs as he circled around them.
OOC: Sorry. Kinda at a loss. Not much sleep in the past few weeks doesn't help, either.
"This isn't any time to argue, boys," Angewomon said, swooping overhead while Sealsdramon silently headed towards the dragon's other side. In one swift motion, he struck with his weapon.
"Death Behind," he breathed, as data showered from the newly formed wound on the leg. He turned to Lupusmon for a moment. "We must bring this to a close before any damage is done to the surrounding areas."
"You think I don't know that?!"
"Oi! Help please?" Negateanmon called out, holding on the dragon's tail.
"That's it!" Rich suddenly spoke up. "Negateanmon, hold on as long as you can. Sealsdramon, Angewomon, try to distract him. Lupusmon, when you get a clear shot... WHAM!"
---
OOC: Dunno if this'll actually work. D:
OOC: Not a problem. I thought I kind of killed it, usually because I tend to take things and run with it... if you do post, I won't be able to reply right away. There was a thunderstorm overnight and now my comp is half-fried and the power supply needs replacing.
OOC: I had planned on typing up a post earlier, but it turned out I had things to do and that took quite a while. By the time I got home, it was pretty late, and I don't like typing up stuff when I'm tired. They don't seem to turn out as well as I want them to. My schedule looks clear for tomorrow, but things tend to pop up at the last minute around here, so you never know. Plus, I don't know if the weather wants to cooperate with my broadband connection. It was raining pretty bad earlier today, but it seems to have cleared up and it looks like its gonna be clear tomorrow as well.
Edit:
OOC: It was a beautiful day until I sat down to type up my post. Once my glutes touched the seat in front of the computer, the sky opened up and the rain came down like crazy. And it didn't stop... Anyway, here's the post.
IC:
Is he giving MY partner orders?, Peaches thought. He could feel anger building up inside him, but he kept it to himself. Though he couldn't help but give an evil look in Rich's direction. Words formed in his mind. They were his, but they didn't seem to be. This boy had better learn his place. He shook his head a bit to make them go away, then turned his attention back to the battle.
Lupusmon had backed away from the action and was crouched low to the ground, his eyes watching carefully for an opening. He gripped the hilt of the sword tightly in his teeth. "Come on...", he whispered to himself. He arced his neck and placed the blade back into it's sheath. "Just one shot..."
The dragon swung its claws up at Angewomon. Lupusmon's eyes widened a bit as he saw his moment to strike. He rushed forward, his paws making a constant rythym as he neared his target. He stopped just at the dragon's feet and launched himself straight upward at the dragon's claws. He grabbed the handle of his sword and the sheath began to glow brightly.
"Mach Blade!" In an instant he unsheathed the blade and launched forward, delivering a single cut at the claws. Data shot from the dragon's wrist. The monster reared its head back and roared in pain. Lupusmon flipped forward and kicked sideways off of the dragon's shoulder. He landed gently onto the ground below, quickly turning back to their opponent, ready to continue the fight.
The dragon began to spread its wings. "I UNDERESTIMATED YOU THIS TIME, DIGI-DESTINED, BUT IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. I WON'T HOLD BACK NEXT TIME." With a single flap of his wings, he lifted himself into the air and took off into the sky, flying toward the horizon.
Screams and cries of the citizens could be heard around the small group as the mutated Digimon rose into the air and out of sight. The battle was over… for now, anyway. Yet, the reality of what the Digi-Destined had just dealt with was still starting to sink in. They weren't even the ones fighting, yet they were just as exhausted as their partners. Kris felt particularly drained, which showed as she slumped to her knees. Her goggles now hung around her neck like an odd piece of jewelry. Angewomon landed beside her, and at once glowed with an orange light as her form changed once again. When it faded, she looked like a small, pale pink puppy-like creature with a short stubby tail and a golden ring around her neck. She was shakily standing on all fours, covered in dust and debris, but obviously feeling drained.
"We couldn't destroy it," she spoke, her voice astoundingly childlike. "Jijimon's killer…"
Rich shook his head. "My plan didn't work nearly as well as I thought," he said, sounding a bit bitter. He sat on the ground, staring as Sealsdramon's form shrunk back to Commandramon. He looked over at the puppy creature near Kris and noticed that Lupusmon's form was shrinking, too. Negateanmon was the only one who retained his form.
"Hey, what gives?" Chonai asked breathlessly, pointing at the other three. "You guys were huge and really powerful looking just a moment ago!"
Commandramon made a gruff noise as he replied, "The battle has taken a tremendous toll on our strength. As a result, we revert back to our previous forms in a process called de-evolving."
"So you're back to being Commando-man? That stinks."
"Such a thing was imminent, Chonai," Negateanmon chided the boy.
Listening to the exchange, Kris looked down at the puppy creature. "But you're not Gatomon again, are you?"
"No. This is my Rookie form, Salamon. I think digivolving was harder on me than everyone else because I was already in my adult form at the time." Salamon's legs gave way and she plopped onto her belly. "I haven't been in this form in a while."
Despite looking thoroughly tired, Kumamon couldn't help but snicker. "I remember when you first digivolved into a Rookie, you couldn't walk at all."
Guilmon covered his mouth to keep from laughing.
"Excuse me, are you humans the Digi-Destined?"
Will, Chonai, Rich, and Kris all turned around to see a several figures approaching them. The leader, a tall, muscular anthromorphic lion who looked like he'd been buried under rubble just moments ago, stopped just short of the teens and their partners. Standing behind him were the Centarumon and Gorillamon Peaches had seen before. Unlike them however, this lion didn't have the strange symbol the other two bore. Either he seemed intimidating or they were still getting used to being in a foreign world, but the humans simply stared.
"I think I'll have to repeat my question, since you obviously don't understand me: Are you humans the Digi-Destined?"
OOC: Hey is this thing still on the air? My treatments are nearing their end and I won't be in the hospital as much anymore so if you guys are still up for playing, I'm game! Anyone?
I've been around, but this RP's been dead for a while. I don't even know if DLP's around. :<
Back from the dead, baby. And I hope to drag this RP back to the living realm with me. If you think you can handle the undead stench for a while, just let me know you're still interested.
Yeah, I think I would like for this to rise from it's grave. I hated having to drop out of the game when this was still fresh, but what can I say life tends to hit you hard. I'm good!
OOC: I've been mostly lurking for a while. Actually posting something would be sort of worth it. The only thing is whether to start over or continue from where it left off. I'm good either way, I'll only be online some evenings and weekends, though.
OOC: I suppose it may be possible for me to get into this as well again, whether we restart or no.
OOC: Well, I had shot down the restarting idea but now I'm considering it again. The indecision is going to make my brain explode and my skull implode at the same time. It might look cool, but it's not gonna feel too good.
OOC: Now that I'm really seeing this again, I don't think there's any reason to start over. The story is pretty much well underway. Unless there are things that need to be reworked or something, we can just pick up right were we left off.
OOC: I definitely think we can just pick it up where we left off. I reread it, and I really like the various neat things we ended up doing with the story so far. I also like what was done with Rich after my unfortunately-timed departure - making him a tactician for the group seems to suit him quite well, and may make it easier for me to settle on what Crest(s - it's possible the group may get more than one each if we maintain the current number of characters) he ends up getting later on.
In fact, to push it along a bit, I'd like to make a post very soon myself, if that's all right. I don't have anything specifically in mind yet, so if anyone has something they'd like to do, go ahead, but I'll go ahead and post in the next few days.
And here it is!
IC:
Rich was exhausted from the battle, and while there was a brief tinge of excitement at being able to command the battle like he did, the victory fell flat when their opponent had escaped. And now they were faced with some huge lion-man who looked like his muscles had muscles! Rich knew he was not suited for taking the lead in this situation.
But he did place his hand over Commandramon's mouth as the military dino started to say, "That's classifi-mmphmph!" After all, another faux pas wouldn't be the best tactic to getting on the good side of this huge lion.
"Yes, we are," answered Kris as all eyes turned to her.
Wow...she's certainly got guts! I wish I was braver like that... Rich still didn't know what to make of William, and Chonai seemed a bit on the ditzy side, but Kris was okay by him. Sure, the goggles she wore stood out a bit, but she seemed to be the most level-headed out of the group.
"Leomon, Jijimon is dead!" cried out Guilmon, unable to contain his tears as he sobbed into his claws. "What'll we do now?"
Kumamon put a bear arm around his companion's shoulder, looking a little teary-eyed too, but being strong for his friend.
Leomon crossed his arms across his muscular chest. "These are bad times when an enemy can sneak in under our noses like that. We'll set up a triple guard tonight." He nodded grimly to As for you..." His eyes swept down over the group, particularly the human children and their Digimon partners. "You are tired after that battle. You have done well to drive away that monster; you deserve a night's rest, and whatever other hospitality we can offer you."
This sounds more like it, thought Rich. We've been on the run since we've gotten here...I hope that this really means we're going to finally get some rest. I don't think I could take another surprise like that one.
"...so what about Gorillamon and Centarumon?" asked William, Canismon sitting on the blanket next to him. "They were wearing that symbol that the Jiji-faker had."
"You mean, they could be bad guys too?" Chonai shivered, despite the warmth from the fire. Negateanmon slid closer to him until they leaned back-to-back, which seemed to bolster Chonai's spirits a bit. "They didn't seem bad to me."
Kris laid on her side, with Salamon curled under her arm. "Everything that's happened has put us all on edge," said Kris, bringing the conversation back to a more central theme. "Maybe it would be best to talk about what we're supposed to do after we've gotten some sleep."
Guilmon and Kumamon were tugging at the blankets they were supposed to be sharing, and Guilmon managed to get a foot in Kumamon's face for leverage. "You could save the world," offered Guilmon helpfully, before Kumamon yanked Guilmon's tail and felled him flat on his back as the bear claimed his side of the blankets.
Those symbols...they look like keyboard characters! Like asterisks, at signs...it's almost like a digital code. But some of the characters aren't symbols I've seen before...
"Save the world, sure, but how?" asked Chonai bluntly. "This Digi-Destined stuff didn't come with a manual, y'know. Or a map, either!"
Commandramon grunted from the front of the tepee where he had been standing since they arrived there. "Actually, you should be able to use a map feature with your Digivices."
Rich immediately looked down at his Digivice and held it in his hand, pressing some of the buttons as he selected through the options in the LCD menu there. "Hey, you're right," he said, his voice quiet. "Looks like we don't have a map for the entire world, but we do have one for the entire region."
He fiddled with the options a bit more, and suddenly the Digivice's screen glowed a bright blue as it projected the map above the campfire, creating a 3D representation of the map in midair. Chonai gasped in surprise. "Hey, there's File City!" he exclaimed, pointing to a walled city. "Look at those glowing dots there...there are four of them. That must be us!"
"Great - this way we should be able to track each other, if we get separated somehow," said Rich, catching on quickly. "I'm not sure which color dot represents each of us, but hopefully we won't have to worry about that. It looks like this is the only habitation for quite a long ways around here..."
Negateanmon turned his head slightly. "Digimon live in all kinds of places," he remarked, pointing to a series of caves in the side of a mountain. "Like here, these caves are home to many Digimon who work in the Data Mines. And this lake over here, on the other side of the mountain, is home to many fish and other sea-type Digimon."
"So they don't all live in cities or villages," summed up Canismon, who had been so quiet that it nearly startled everyone else, though William didn't seem perturbed at all.
Kris looked over the map from her position. "We should try to help as many Digimon as we can - that seems like the best way to explore this world, and get a better idea of what we need to do as Digi-Destined. Those mines look like they are the closest, so that's where we'll go." She looked at the other members of the party, and smiled. "That sound good?"
Rich nodded. "Sounds like the best plan to me." He yawned. "We'll get right to it first thing in the morning."
Negateanmon yawned next, and then Chonai, then Guilmon, then Chonai again. "Augh, stop!" Chonai cried out with a laugh as he laid out on the blankets. "We'll be yawning all night if it doesn't stop!"
That got a chuckle out of everyone, and they laid down to sleep, the fire dying down as if sensing their intent. But before he went to sleep, Rich took another glance at his Digivice after shutting down the holographic map. Come to think of it, I don't have my MP3 player anymore, he thought. And it was attached to this lanyard...did it transform into this Digivice?
He fished some headphones out of his pocket and slipped them into his ears, then found a headphone jack and plugged in. A few more button presses, and he suddenly heard familiar music playing into his ears. So it has to be. But, I wonder if it'll ever go back to normal?...will our lives ever go back to normal?
He glanced over at the others, and realized that he was the only one who was alone. He rolled over to look by the door, and saw Commandramon standing there. "Come on, get some sleep," he whispered. "You must be tired."
"I'm standing guard, sir," answered the reptilian Digimon, not taking his eyes away from his post for a second - though even in the dim light from the moon outside, Rich could see his partner's tired eyes. "If those supposed guards are actually helping the enemy..."
"You heard Leomon - he's posting a triple guard, so those two aren't going to be able to do anything while the rest of the city is up in arms." Rich pointed at Commandramon. "Sleep, now. That's an order." He tried to soften the command with a smile.
Not that it was necessary; Commandramon's eyes had shut the instant the order was given, and even though he was standing at full attention like he had been before, he was already snoring! Rich watched him for a few moments longer before turning over and closing his own eyes. Tomorrow's going to be a big day, I guess...better take my own advice too.
"He'll warn others and set up a trap - they're bound to wander toward the Data Mines next, so all we do is make sure they go in the right direction and don't do anything else suspicious to attract attention."
The two figures nodded, then continued their watch.
OOC: The two shadowy figures...are they Centarumon and Gorillamon, or two entirely different Digimon? We have some flexibility in this!
I hope this is an acceptable continuation; I wanted to try to bring the group to a point where they could rest and prepare for tomorrow, and give them a direction to go into.
OOC: WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! I am so sorry! I had no idea you posted another IC Terg. Damn these things not bumping anymore when edited! Anyways I was reading through this as Peaches still expresses an interest in continueing, and soon. Anyway I apologize for not catching this and hope to see this continue.
OOC: I seriously need to log in here more often than once a month now. Nice IC there, Terg.
Maybe I can follow up with something coherent soon. Then this RP can get rollin' a little again.
I'll edit here when I have an IC, even if it's a bit short.
Slender fingers cloaked by white silk gloves sat with their tips placed against each other, forming an elegant temple within the lap of matching white silk pants. Evil eyes cast their view across a screen, watching the Digi-Destined sleep.
"They're so..... peaceful... All the more reason to take them out now, while they're so... vulnerable." The voice echoed through the room so gracefully that the air almost danced with every syllable. The hands removed themselves from their resting positions like dancers rising through the air, only to land on the arms of an intricately carved chair as a tall figure lifted itself up into standing position.
"But alas, I am a man of distinction. I can't go around being insubordinate. I have a reputation, after all." The room enveloped him like a piece of his clothing, their colors matching as if they both were formed from the same material. White walls were decorated with purple tapestries, their designs that of a circle of data surrounding a large pair of black, webbed wings attached to a star with a square missing from the center. The ceiling served as a hanging point to the enormous chandelier that lit the area. A purple rug was placed in the center of the room where an equally intricate desk sat in front of the chair, the monitor resting upon it along with a Bordeaux glass sitting near it with a dark red liquid resting within.
"Amorphimon severely underestimated them, by the looks of the way things happened. If he weren't such a... complete fool he would have never made the mistake of that." He reached forward and caressed silk against the glass before lifting it to fanged lips and downing the red liquid. "Ahhh..... Delicious." He rested the glass back upon the desk before turning on a heel of a white boot decorated with a silver, slender bat. The matching boot soon rested beside it as the purple interior of his white cape glided through the air from the turn. Silver trim and buttons rested upon the breast of his shirt, leading up to a silver bat with a wide wingspan acting as a necktie.
"I was hoping not to become overly active, but... I can't have the mistakes of underlings on my watch ruining my good name." He straightened the bat at his neck and pretended to adjust the purple mask on his face before shaking a few blond hairs away from his eyes. It was then that he began the short, slow strides toward the double doors.
"It will not be long before these humans come to fear the name 'Myotismon'."
OCC: Oh yeah. It's good to be back.
OOC: Fantastic! I guess that means Digimon NWO is offically back on the air now! Got kinda a loaded plate right now, but I'll IC sometime next week!
OOC: Sorry for the DP but I've got an IC and this is the only way to bump.
IC:
It wasn't long until everyone was asleep, everyone except for Chonia Striken that is. He lay there with his eyes wide open staring up at the odd markings inside the tepee. Try as he might he couldn't seem to drift off into sleepy-land despite his earlier yawning. There was a lot on the young Striken's mind. Everything that had happened today upset him greatly. Striken spent most of his life acting carefree, showing no concern for anything. Why should he? No one has ever showed any concern for him. No one. It was different now, here in this digital world. Here, for the first time in his life, he actually feels as if he has friends. Though they only just met he could feel a bond forming between them. The way they worked together to fight that Jijimon, dragon thing was like something out of a story. However, this story is only just beginning, and Striken knows that he proves a threat to his companions. And that's another thing, even with Myotismon's mark, everybody showed care and concern for his well being when in danger. So what if Myotismon has marked Chonai Striken, Striken still feels as if he has friends he can rely on. Myotismon. Who is he anyway?
Striken rolled over onto his side and looked over at Negateanmon who was fast asleep. "Negat..." Striken said to himself, "What's going to happen to me?" Negateanmon wasn't even supposed to be here. Another Digimon was supposed to be Striken's partner, Negateanmon was just a replacement. As Striken looked at his partner he could sense something about Negateanmon. He wasn't sure what it was, but it was there. A force, a presence within the digital monster unique from the others.Striken brushed the thought aside and tried once again to get some sleep. Once, before he finally went out, Striken could have sworn he heard his name being called. Somewhere off in the distance as if someone was watching him, waiting to see what would happen next.
OOC: Sorry this has taken me a bit. I had no idea what to write for the longest time.

Kris' eyes closed almost immediately as she shifted slightly under the blanket. It had been a very long day, and she was extremely exhausted.
The last thought on her mind was that she'd definitely earned a bit of peace, even if she was still stuck in a strange world.
... She dreamed she was back at home, playing video games with her little brother, even if he was a pain. Her mother brought in some pastries so the three of them could share. A couple of her friends came over, and they all had fun...
Then darkness suddenly overtook her, and everything around her vanished. The next thing she knew, she heard... was that... crying?
She turned about face, and found a small white blob-like creature that reminded her of some sort of teddy-bear head. It was sobbing quietly, and didn't seem to notice her presence. Cautiously, Kris stepped closer to it, wondering just what this little (and very adorable) Digimon was.
Suddenly, it stopped crying and looked up at Kris with wide, dark eyes, slightly startled. Kris froze, immediately putting up her hands in front of her. "Um... sorry! I didn't mean to..." She trailed off, however, as she heard footsteps and the soft tap of a cane rapping against the floor.
"SnowBotamon? What's the matter?" It was Jijimon's voice, and Kris instinctively stepped aside to let the old 'mon pass... Not that it seemed like she was actually there.
SnowBotamon looked sadly at the dark, nonexistant floor. "I... I think I lost something..."
"Lost something?" Kris imagined Jijimon quirking an eyebrow. "What did you lose?"
"I don't know," the younger Digimon responded. "It... It's never gonna be found, though..."
"Why do you say that?"
"... I don't know... I don't know a lot of things..."
The Old 'mon sat down next to SnowBotamon, placing a hand on it reassuringly. "Don't worry too much about it," he said thoughtfully. "You have a lot of time ahead of you. One day, you're gonna figure things out... okay?"
SnowBotamon nodded... at least, it seemed to. Its face brightened up a bit, though Kris could sense a lingering feeling of loneliness. "Mm-hmm. Thanks..."
Kris' eyes opened a moment later. Salamon was still curled up next to her, fast asleep. She didn't seem disturbed. The girl rubbed her temples, mulling over what she had just seen. Was that another dream, or some sort of past memory? She was used to weird dreams like this, but back at home, they were hazy, indistinct, and hard to really know what went on. Now, they were clear, distinct, and they made sure to etch themselves in her mind.
Just what was going on here?
IC:
William awoke to the sound of talking.
He couldn't make out what they were saying, even though they were just outside the thin wall of the tee-pee. Curiosity getting the better of him, he decided to creep towards the entrance hole (where the voices were coming from) to get into better hearing range. Shifting himself to all fours, he crawled toward the conversation. Careful not to tread on anyone, he reached a spot next to the flaps that covered the hole. Just as he pulled his legs under him into a crouching position, the conversation was over and two sets of footfalls went in separate directions.
'Well this sucks...' He thought to himself. 'What a waste of good sleeping ti-'
His thought stopped mid-sentence as a vibration pulsed through his entire body. 'What was tha-'
A unimaginable and searing pain ripped through his brain as the air and ground were filled with intense quakes. It felt as if his skull were about to burst, sending gray matter outward at millions of miles per hour. His hands slammed against the sides of his head in an attempt to stop his mind from tearing apart. His mouth was wide open but no scream came out. His eyes darted around erratically, seeing all the others around him writhing with the same unbearable agony.
No thoughts came up...
No breath passed in or out of his lungs...
No feelings other than the pain could be felt...
It was then his throat found the sound it was looking for and unleashed it in an ear-shattering yell of anguish, expelling what little air he had left inside him. And as the last of it escaped his lips, it all stopped. The pain, the quakes... All gone.....
William's breathing was heavy and quick, trying to recuperate from what had just happened. He looked at everyone around him. If they were asleep before, they were awake now.
Chonai broke the silence that covered them. "...I think I prefer my alarm clock for wake up calls"
The silence returned quickly. William looked down at the Digivice on his hand. Data was passing erratically across the screen with a bright red warning reading "SYSTEM HACK" flashing in the center.
The silence was broken again by Rich, "Was that an earthquake?"
"It could have been.... But since when do earthquakes shake up skulls?" William responded.
Canismon rushed up to William, "That was no earthquake!"
"We should still see if anything was damaged." Kris suggested. And at that, William pulled back a flap of the entrance. Everyone crowded together as they peered out. But, the city appeared just as it had before. No damage.
"It looks all the same to me." Chonai spoke as if he knew the city for years.
All of them squeezed out of the tee-pee to get a better look at the surrounding area. As they looked around, William didn't see anything moved, shifted, broken, or anything. "It really is as if nothing happ-", Rich began, but as he turned around, he stood in awe. Noticing the halt in his speech, everyone turned their attention to what stood in the center of the city.
Blocking most of the horizon, a castle of almost unthinkable proportions now covered half of the surrounding area in shadow. It's towers seemed to reach up and touch the dark sky above.
A cold wind blew past, causing an eerie howl. William swallowed hard, "I don't think that was there before..."
"And you're right!" An unnaturally smooth voice echoed from behind them. All the Digi-Destined quickly spun around almost in a synchronized motion in reaction. What stood before them was a tall, ominous figure, the white silk of his outfit seeming to glow in the darkness of night. He strided slowly toward them, the purple inside of his cape billowing in the wind. "You Digi-Destined sure know how to take notice of good housing. But you should know that it's all about location. So I decided to commute my abode to someplace with a little more... excitement."
As he approached, William felt an unnatural chill pass through him. The figure stopped just a few feet away from them. He took a bow, "My name is Myotismon. And that's a name you won't soon forget, dear aquantices, as things are about to become a little more... ffffun." A sly smile crept across his lips as he rose back up.
He turned on a heel and slowly paced back and forth in a short line, a gloved hand reaching up to stroke his chin. "You see... File City isn't exactly known for much... excitement." He turned to them with another smile on his face, this one sending yet another chill through William. "And because of the lack of such a thing, I took it upon myself to spice things up a bit."
With a snap of his fingers, large crowds of Digimon slowly marched themselves out of the connecting streets and alleyways. They walked in an uncoordinated shuffle, and their eyes gave off a dim red glow. Moans came from them as they all gathered into one enormous mob behind Myotismon. As they stopped, two of them stepped forward a bit more. It was Centarumon and Gorillamon. "All citizens accounted for, my liege.", growled Gorillamon as they both bowed.
Myotismon turned his head to acknowledge them. "Most excellent, you two. I believe your timing is one for the record books." He released a light chuckle that hung in the air like mist. His eyes moving before his head, he turned his attention back to the small group of rag tag humans and Digimon. "It's so hard to find GOOD minions these days. I hope you don't mind that I chose numbers over quality this time...... Anyway, I do wish I could stay here and chat, but..." He dusted off his sleeves, followed by the bottom of his shirt, "I believe my new undead underlings would enjoy a little... playtime. So I bid you, adieu."
With a turn, he burst into a group white bats that rose up and flew off towards the castle.
William looked away from where he watched the bats disappeared into the castle's shadow and reverted his attention to the crowd of Digimon zombies led by Centarumon and Gorillamon.
"I'm starting to rethink this whole Digi-Destined thing..."
OCC: It probably could have been a lot better, but I just wanted to get something posted. Hope it works for you guys.
Chonai was speechless. The man from the day before, Myotismon albeit dressed differently, was here. He stood right before the digi-destined then vanished, unleashing an army of minions upon the weathered humans.. Never in his life life had Chonai felt so powerless. He fell to his knees as the world around him went inaudible. He could see the legion of digimon approaching and for an instant, he didn't even care. He sat there, staring blankly at what he felt was finally the end. Maybe then Chonai would wake up, ready to go about his daily routine in the human world once more.
He snapped back into reality when he felt someone grab him by shoulders and pull him backwards. Chonai fell to the ground on his back, looking up at Negateanmon who was using all the strength he had to get Chonai to safety. "This isn't the time and place to be zoning out on us, man!" Negateanmon chided as Commandramon stepped in front of the vulpine digimon. The young Striken sat up and looked on as Comandramon fired off several shots at the oncoming attackers. Gorilliamon and Centarumon had fallen back letting the swarm of digimon minions take the tlines. Everyone was on full alert as they braced themselves for the legion.
Chonai stood up and made his way to the other Digi-destined. "Are you alright?" Kris asked, "You had us scared there for a second." "Aces," Chonai said nervously, "These surprise attacks are really starting to get on my nerves!" Chonai looked over at the partner digimon who were firing off attacks trying to keep the approaching horde at bay. "We won't be able to hold them off forever!" Negateanmon yelled back at the group, "They may not be strong, but there's just too many of them." "They have also got the added strength of Centarumon and Gorilliamon," Commandramon included, "Even if we were to somehow beat them all, we would be too worn down to hold our own against those two."
Chonai began to rub the right side of his head to try and ease the pain. It was still throbbing from the system hack, and showed no sign of slowing down. "What happened to Leonmon and his guard?" Chonai asked up, "If we could get in contact-" "Oh, no! Gorilliamon's on approach!" Negateanmon yelled back. Choani began to shake. He was absolutely terrified. "I-I uh, don't know about you, but this might be good time to retreat," He suggested, trying to hide the fear in his voice.
