"Um...." I hadn't really thought about the subject of food. The canine brought up a valid point. We couldn't survive without food forever.
Still we could go hungry for a while perhaps. But I wasn't sure how long. Maybe if the heat blew over while we were in Zak's hiding place, one of us would know how to find food. Maybe there was a place nearby that were could go to? Maybe I was hoping to much.
Either way, Zak's hiding place was visible over the next rise. We could easilly reach it soon, once there, maybe we could rest and get to know each other.
Well, that's what I hoped at least. Ruby, the double tailed fox... she split the other way. I guess she didn't trust Zak, or didn't trust me. Who knows? But she chose to go the other way. I guess we couldn't look out for her anymor
A feeling of intense hopelessness began to weigh on John's mind. Everyone else had just gone over the wall, and were getting farther away. Most were too busy moving on to look back. He climbed to the top of the wall, and the last couple of the others who had waited for him nodded and caught up with the others.
"What are the odds of us getting out of here? Pretty small, when they have vehicles and guns, and all we have are ourselves. What makes me think I can help them? I'm just as weak and tired as the rest of them. After all of this...will I ever be happy again? We're in this mess, and we could work together to try to fix it, but maybe..."
John hesitated for another moment, then jumped back the way he came, without a word to the others. He could hear the vehicles; they weren't far now. With the intent of leading them away from the other escapees, John ran away from them, and away from the wall. He was trying to do everything to prevent them from following them, without any regard to his own safety, but it might already be too late.
...Yeah, sorry to bump this now after such a long absence, but I merely wanted to make an apology for my absence, and an explaination.
You see, I had know that I was to be internetless for at least a week when I first got to uni, after all, can't stay in during Freshers....And I had planned to let you all know.
Unfortunatly, (Or fortunatly depending on your capacity for partying down) I was claimed by endless nights out with friends for about a month before, and then have only just got connected about 2 and a half weeks after moving in. Hence, why I abandoned this, I wasn't here ^^;
Now that I am here, it is also unlikly I will have the spare time to even take a minor role in anything as well. So, unless someone else wants to carry this on, which I doubt, I'm going to just call this closed (Not that it wasn't really before, but this makes it official

Physical: 5'1, Jade is slim and agile.She doesn't like fighting but usually wins. Her hearing is exceptional for a bat. Her eyes are a bright lime green(color blind), she has straight violet hair with electric yellow highlights. She is mildly wounded in the left wing, from when the humans caught her. She wears a pink-and-black striped tank top and a bright turquoise skirt.
Personality: Jade has somewhat of a competitive personality, witty and logical when it comes to solving problems. She prefers to be alone but is fiercely loyal to her few friends. Scorns other animal species for their weaknesses and LOVES flying. Hates humans because of their stupidity, in her point of view, and also enjoys harassing different species of her kind. Has a sensitive spot for others younger than her, and hates seeing kids abused.
History: Had 7 siblings and was the favorite of her parents, spoiled by them and hated by others. Ran away when 13, wanted to get away from her overprotective family. Made several friends later, but had a broken heart after seeing one of them die. Developed a split personality after her parents were killed by another species of bat. Saught revenge and almost killed her parents' killers.
IC: Jade watched the others in the van intently with green eyes. Her eyes followed Ruby and her two tails. She was mostly paying attention to Errol, the one trying to get all of them out of the crowded van. Apparently, as far as she could tell, he was trying to get something sharp to get out of his chains. I'm sure he'll do something stupid in any minute now, probably try to knock out the guard or something. If only I could fly! Stupid humans. Maybe I ought to give him the simplest solution to this problem. Nah, I think I'd rather watch him dumbly think out plans. Jade smirked. She was in the far corner of the van, out of sight and ignored. She, of course, perferred it that way. Now she could stand and listen to her surroundings. The metal shackles only annoyed her slightly, brushing against her skin sometimes. The shackles were just small enough to hold her and keep her from slipping them off.
