Alchemy is the method of deconstructing and recreating matter by understanding it's inheret laws and place in nature. This act, though seeming almighty, must abide by one law.

That law is "Equivalent Exchange".

In order to gain something, something of Equal value must be lost...

East Headquarters, 6:47 A.M.

"Geeze... You called, Colonel?", Latern Steadfast, Also known as the "Armored Alchemist", managed between yawns. "Yes, you, and another group of alchemists are needed, you will be drafted once the others arrive." Latern sighed. "Fine, fine..."

OOC: Yes, this is a fullmetal Alchemist RP, no, It won't have said alchemist in it. =P
This RP is set further in the future, after Edward and Alphonse have kicked the bucket.
Anyway, profiles are as follows:

Name:
Title: (for example, Edward Elric was called the "Fullmetal Alchemist" because of the automail arm and leg)
Appearance:
Weapons/Alchemy Circle's power: (Note after profile example)

About the last catagory: for an example, Roy Mustang, "the Flame Alchemist" in the series, had pyrotec gloves that would spark a flame when rubbed together, on those gloves were alchemy circles made to let Roy control the flame.
Edward's ability to create alchemy circles by clapping his hands together cannot be used in this RP, sorry.

anyway...

Name: Latern Steadfast
Title: The Armored Alchemist
Appearance: Wears a long grey cloak with the State Alchemist symbol on it, Under it he wears a Black Tank-Top. Pants are... Grey. Meh.
Weapons/ Alchemy Circle's Power: He has had Semi-Auto mail implanted on his arms, his real arms still exist, but the semi-automail is permanent anyway. They both have Alchemy Circles, on the left arm one that turns it into a Cannon/machinegun, the other turning it into a sword.

There you go, feel free to walk into the room.

OOC: I'm uncertain how many people here know enough about 'Full Metal Alchemist' to join this. I sure don't. I could improvise, adapt, and slip by, but it might not be pretty.

I'm interested in the topic, just not sure of where to start and all. I don't want to make this hard for you, but could you maybe explain a little more about things? Like, what are Alchemy Circles, what do they do, and what kinds of limits do they have?

Also, what sort of weapons exist? I assume guns and stuff, but how far advanced?

OOC: Actually, I'm kinda glad you asked. o.o;

Anyway, Alchemy Circles are basicly Circles with some fancy symbols and a bit of writing in them. The writing tells of ingredients needed, ect. Once those Ingredients have been found and essembled, the Alchemy user simply needs to put ne or both hands over the circle and focus the best he can to get energy into his hands, and depending on the circle, it will transmute (basicly meaning: turn into) into whatever the circle specefies.

And about weapons: The strongest weapon Invented has been the old-fasioned cannon. The strongest ever Transmuted has been the Gattling gun. Handheld Projectile weapons include the Shotgun, Simi-Auto Machine gun, and Handgun. Other than that, Lances, Swords, battle Axes, Knifes, ect. are game.

For an Example on How Alchemy Circles work better when Etched onto something permanently:

If you have a... let's say, Sword, with an Alchemy Circle that Needs only Steel, Rubber, And Wood to make two smaller swords, that both have Alchemy Circles that allow them to be Transmuted into one Sword exactly like the first., That would be preferred over getting the rubber, steel, and wood separately. Plus, being handheld, you won't need to put your hand over the circle, since energy should already be flowing through the sword.

And D'oh! I forgot something, In this RP, everyone will be what we call a "State Alchemist" Which is basicly an Alchemist Hired by the Military. Some have High ranks, others don't.

Oh, and Chimeras: Two creatures fused into one through Alchemy, usually dangerous.

OOC: One more question: What is 'Auto Mail', and 'Semi-Auto Mail'? Both of the Alchemists mentioned had one or the other.

Character Profile (Heck, I'll give it a shot):

Name: Grudd Coal
Title: The Daring Alchemist
Appearance: Black tight pants, deep red shirt, flame-pattern coat. His large, thick metal belt has the State Alchemist symbol on it. He has a strong, heavy build.
Weapons/Alchemy Circle's Power: Carries a giant steel hammer. Right leg is Auto Mail, left leg is Semi-Auto Mail. His right leg has a Circle that generates a protective fire shield around him. His left leg has a Circle that boosts the power of the leg for a brief time, allowing him to stomp with incredible force, the effect usually being a tremor that knocks enemies off balance.

IC:

Grudd stomped into the room, hammer strapped to his back. "Grudd here."

OOC: Auto-mailis basicly an artificial limb, that somehow has a sort of connector that makes it so you feel in that area. Semi-Auto mail is the same, but you don't have to have a limb gone to get it installed, and it has no nerve connectors.
