The lightning blazed upon the shambled lands, ignited from the sky, which was a never-ending, swirling darkness. Hundreds of cities had been attacked, up to Radical Highway. Skyscrapers and buildings, which were once giants of the cities, had fallen to rubble and ruins. Victims had fallen injured or became deceased in the path of this wild threat.
It appeared that the world was bowing down to a new power The Ultimate Power.
This Ultimate Power, Shadow the Hedgehog, was currently engaged in a battle against the worlds last hope, Sonic the Hedgehog, upon the tallest skyscraper of Radical city. Onlookers tried to make what sight they could of the Showdown from down below.
My life a lie because of this pitiful planet! raged Shadow with demonic eyes, a flash of lighting illuminating his threatening presence.
He pounced towards Sonic, ready deal him a heavy blow with his iron-like fists. Sonic ducked, and watched Shadow leap pass, feeling the breeze effect of his speed. Shadow somersaulted, and landed perfectly on his two feet. He turned around again to face Sonic, locked in a fighting stance.
Whats WRONG with you, psycho-hog?!? Would Maria have wanted this? called out Sonic, using his hands against the thrashing gale and winds.
My memory was fake unreal nothing is real I was used left to die, he said, shedding a tear. A bolt of lighting was heard, which caused the horizon to flash a ghostly white.
TAKE THIS! he cried spontaneously, darting forwards, aiming a kick towards Sonic. Before Sonic could duck, Shadow whirled downwards, having learnt from the last time Sonic tried to avoid his move. He span towards Sonic, knocking him over and causing him to skid next to a ledge of the building. Sonic got up, and felt his forehead, noticing a gash.
Shadow! Id hear you out, but YOU caused all of this! said Sonic pointing at the urban land giving way to blazing fires, that were drowning out cries of innocent lives I cant let you go on like this!
You think you can stop me, blue hedgehog?! This is just the beginning! said Shadow evilly, with bloodshot eyes.
Sonic stared at Shadow with an all-new loathing attitude. He charged forwards, as a blur of blue at the speed of sound. Shadow imitated his velocity within a nano-second. As the rivalling hedgehogs came head to head, clawing at one another in midair, a thunderbolt combined with the sound barrier being broken caused Sonic Boom to split the skyscraper platform to quake and split into segments. As Sonic took a moment to look down at the catastrophe below, everything else happened in slow motion. Shadow swiped a punched, dealing Sonic a hard jolt around the cheek. The devastating impact knocked Sonic off course, causing him spiral downards uncontrollably. Before he hopelessly fell to his death however, Sonic grabbed a nearby ledge on one of the segmented building platforms. Before Sonic could limply hoist himself up however, Shadow appeared nearby, staring at him patronizingly. Sonic held his stare, maintaining his defiant expression.
Pathetic blue hedgehog! Prepare to die he said with wrath. As he was about to lift his foot to stamp on Sonics fingers however, Shadow heard a cry.
Shadow, WAIT! cried Tails who had flown into the scene from behind. Tails knew he could very well fly and grab onto Sonic if he were to fall, but would Shadow let them live at the end of the day?
You have to give us a chance please somewhere inside you, you have to accept I implore you begged Tails, wiping the wet and windswept fringe off his face.
Shadow kept his eyes locked on Sonic, suspecting that being a second off-guard would give him a chance to regain his composure.
Please? begged Tails again helplessly.
Shadow grasped forehead, wincing from the pain of the random flashbacks, the lies he was told, the frustration of what was real and what wasnt.
Guh Ill give you and this miserable world one more chance! snarled Shadow. Sonic stared at Shadow, with a slightly stunned, but bitter look on his face.
Shadow took one last sneering look at Sonics face, and then walked off, passing Tails without so much as looking at him. He stopped at the edge of the platform, and looked out to the horizon.
Ill give you one more chance, to claim your allies and build an army, against an army I will summon. In a months time, blue hedgehog, I will declare war. This saga will determine the fate of this very planet said Shadow blinking away the rigid raindrops. He turned to look over his shoulder once more before departing.
Its clearly the end of the world as we know it nonetheless! Get going and call your friends! he said condescendingly. With that, he leapt of the building, and bounced from wall to wall, disappearing as a mere speck into the distance. A flash of lighting followed again shortly after that.
Tails sighed with temporary relief. As he looked over to Sonic however, eh noticed his hand slowly slipping away at the edge.
SONIC! he cried out fretfully.

Right, so, this is a Sega Sonic Universe RP. It is set after Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and probably Sonic heroes as well, seeing as theres not enough evidance to justify whether SH Shadow was real or not (not OOC debates on this pulease =) ). The important thing is that Shadow is alive
What could have happened to him that makes him look upon the world with an all new bitter and loathing eye?
Right now is not the time for these questions however. Right now, Sonic must find survivors and allies, to prepare for Shadows broad, and the fate of the World. Will it all end? Or can things be saved in the nick of time? Only time can tell

Characters

Definitely bring in your own characters! You and only you can play them though unless a group of you lot is being chased by a rolling rock Indiana Jones style for example I think its safe for the poster to assume that your character would like to run as well?
Official Sega characters, Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, Rouge e.t.c are free for all to control. Id like to concentrate on Shadow, however.

Rules

SHQ rules obviously. No one-liners, powerplaying, God modes unless the admins or mods see it fit. And please no swearing. If you cant resist, use caps.

Magic can be used but in measured ways. Nothing extreme like blowing up a whole city. Not even Gandalf could do that!
