As per CJs request I'll put the RP in here rather than start a new topic for it.

RP starts further down the page.

History and Guild references are in posts below. Also added a link to the Map of Asterion.

All welcome! Enjoy^^

This is not actually an RP in itself, although it may develop one. I appoligise for posting it here, but anywhere else and fellow RPers may not see it. I would like to ask a question of the RPers here, "testing the water" so to speak, with regard to some ideas I have, and I would like some imput to see if there is any interest.

One major RP style that I am into is Fantasy RPs, with Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, etc, and I have even tried starting one at one point, but nobody joined. I don't blame anybody for this...I made the mistake of making the opening post rediculously long and cumbersome to read, putting people off.

However I still have this idea and many others, and would love to try them, albeit better structured etc, and I am wondering if there would be interest in joining such RPs?

The worlds would be fantasy, but the storylines different from most fantasy stories, and (I hope^^) more interesting, unnexpected and exciting.

Would anyone here be interested in joining such a story, or are people simply not that interested in this type of RP?

I hope some will be interested, but I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. What does everyone think...would they be interested in being a part of something like this, or not?

Thanx for your time^^

I'm actually quite interested in such RPs, Wraith. It's just that I've never been able to start one or join one that I like. :p

So yes, I'd like to see how this turns out. *awaits*

I'm interested, but it depends on what other ideas there are to be involved as well. A general fantasy setting wouldn't be something to influence me joining.

I'm interested, but I want to see what other ideas you've got first.

Okay more info: The main story I had planned (the one I tried here and over on the Institution) was set in a fantasy world where the whole history of the planet was war. The various races were constantly fighting each other for terretory, and war was all they knew.

Then from The Savage Lands far to the east came an army of Griffins, intent on destroying all the races on the planet and claiming it for themselves. No one race was able to stand up to the Griffins, and the races were forced to unite to defeat them, which they eventually did, driving them back to The Savage Lands. Then, of course, the races were at peace, and began to mingle and form alliances, but war was all they had known, and they felt empty without it.

Then someone came up with a solution...Battle Guilds were set up throughout the world, each utilising a different fighting style, and they used to spar with each other in competitions. Any race could join the Guilds, so long as they adhered to the teachings.

But it wasn't long before things soured. Devotion to the Guilds became something of a religion, and those preaching a different doctorine were heretics, and so the wars started again, this time between the various Battle Guilds. Because of the Guild's training, the battles were far more bloody and dangerous than before.

Flash to present day: Roumours from the east say the Griffin army is once again on the rise, and the Guilds have called a truce to discuss the situation. The only way they can stand against the Griffins is if they unite, but with masses of ill feeling on all sides, that is unlikely.

Eventually it is decided to send a small group with representatives from each Guild into The Savage Lands to ascertain if the threat is real, and the story continues...

The story starts as representatives from all the eight Guilds are coming to the conferance at the neutral city of Tramaklan.

EDIT: oh and something that sometimes puts people off joining RPs, I notice, is masses of character creation rules. In this RP the only rule would be that you have to be part of one of the Guilds. It doesn't matter what race you are...you don't have to be an "everyday" fantasy Elf or Dwarf etc...you could even create your own race from scratch if you like^^ Pretty much anything goes.

Passage below lists the eight Battle Guils (copied directly from the previous time I posted this RP). I have also created a map of the world, and have purchased a free DeviantART account, and when I finally work out how to upload things, I'll post a link to the map for all to see it.

Also, I will post this RP again soon, as it seems there is a decent ammount of interest^^ I will post it in a seperate thread, but will put a link to this thread in so that it can be easily referanced^^ Look out for an RP in the next few days entitled: "The Chronicles of Asterion" ">

EDIT: Map of Asterion

Start of copy:

There are eight different Battle Guilds, each with it's own teachings and fighting style. When creating a character you must sign up to one of these Guilds. Please note that you CANNOT join two guilds at once. It is possible that some characters do not agree with the conflict and have friendships in other Guilds (My two characters are from different Guilds) but no Guild would ever allow someone who had a history with another Guild to join them.

The Guilds are listed below, along with: Riegon the guild inhabits, Capital city of that riegon, Fighting style. Also below the Guild description is a note of extra points that you will need to add in your character profile, specific to that Guild. (Note: you do not need to come from the capital city. If you wish you can create your own town in your Guild's riegon and have this as your hometown.)

The Mages:
Riegon: The Monsoon Jungle. North of the western continent.
Capital: Waters Meeting. At the head of the Azure Lake.
Fighting Style: Magic.
The Mages believe that in order to harness the forces of nature in battle you must live in harmony with nature, so all their cities are built around the forest rather than destroying it. Mages can either become proficiant in a particular type of magic, or learn all of them, but not to the same power as one who specialises.
Extras for Profile: Element of Magic, Skill Level.

The Mecha Lords:
Riegon: The Techral Megaopolis. Northern continent.
Capital: The Administration Sector.
Fighting Style: Advanced Robotics
The biggest riegon on Asterion, the Techral Megaopolis is actually one gigantic city, covering hundreds of square miles! The city is devided into Sectors, and is run from the Administration Sector at the heart of the city. The Mecha Lords are highly technologicly advanced, and their city is incredibly futuristic. In battle, they use large robotic mechs, ranging from simple robo-suits to fully automated artificial intelligence! (Note: no ZoE style five-storey-high orbital frames please. They would be too powerful. Try to stay below 20 feet tall.)
Extras for Profile: Name and Apperance of Mech, Mech Weapons.

The Techno-Mages:
Riegon: Akohk-Al'Sete. Northern continent, west of The Techral Megaopolis
Capital: Sehl-Ket
Fighting Style: Techno-Magic
The Techno-Mages were formed when rebels from the Mages and the Mecha Lords joined forces and set up their own Guild. Half way in between the two extremes, they teach that nature must be respected, but also used. They use technology to simulate magic attacks (Note: these spells are just as potent as a Mages spells, only their source is technological, not spiritual.) and also to enhance their physical forms. The culture has evolved to worship technology as a god. Like Mages, they can specialise in a particular magic field, or generalise.
Extras for Profile: Element of Magic, Skill Level, Mechanical Implants.

The Warriors:
Riegon: The Vargris Riegon, Eastern continent, south of The Great Desert
Capital: Castle Thar.
Fighting Style: Weapon Baised.
The Warriors are a proud and noble Guild, as can be seen by their strong, medeval style castles. They are trained in the use of weapons, be it swords, lances, axes, or anything else. Honor is everything to them, and they will never run from a fight, even if it is hopeless. Having no magic skills, they trust their lives to their weapon. Each Warrior is allowed only ONE type of weapon, (switching between different weapons would reduce effectiveness of both) and must train highly with it.
Extras for Profile: Weapon, Special Moves.

The Fighters:
Riegon: Shai-Tao. Eastern continent, bordering with the Warrior Guild on the west, The Great Desert to the north, and The Savage Lands to the east.
Capital: Quai-Li.
Fighting Style: Physical Fighting.
The Fighters Guild was set up by Sensei Chai Kumoh, and is one of the oldest of the Guilds. Specialising in all forms of martial arts and physical fighting, it follows the teachings of the Holy Dojo, baised in the capital city. Each member of the Guild can learn up to three different fighting styles, although most settle for just one. Fighting styles range from Kung Foo to Kickboxing, from Karate to Wrestling. The fighters rarely use weapons, although Katanas, Nunchukas, etc are allowed for some fighting styles.
Extras for Profile: Fighting Style(s), Belt (color).

The Morphers:
Riegon: The Har Riegon. Western continent, north of The Great Desert.
Capital: Rhaalk.
Fighting Style: Beast-summoning.
The Morphers are feared throughout Asterion for their powers. They teach that everybody has an inner beast hidden in their soul, and through careful training this beast can be descovered and brought out. When a beast is called, the person morphs from their natural form and becomes the animal, taking on their atributes and powers. Most morphs look like emalgams of many different animals, and many have special powers of some sort. In morph form, however, the beasts mind largely takles over, and because of this Morphers are known for their savagery and animal-like behaviour. All their cities have names that can be pronounced while in beast form, sounding like roars and barks, so the Morphers can communicate with each other even in morph form.
Extras for Profile: Beast Name and Apperance, Beast Powers, Degree of Control (that a Morpher has while in beast form).

The Snipers:
Riegon: The Western Ranch. Vast plains at the south of the western continent.
Capital: Lumber Mill.
Fighting Style: Projectile weapons. (Guns, bow and arrow, throwing weapons, etc)
Because of the speed and strength of the food animals in the Western Ranch, the local people began to develop powerful ranged weapons to hunt them. Their skill with these weapons steadily increased, until finally they decided to set up their own Guild. The way of life and culture of the Ranch is unique (simillar to the Wild West on Earth) and cannot be found anywhere else on Asterion. In battle, the Snipers are a force to be reckond with, able to eliminate a sizable army from considerable distance!
Extras for Profile: Weapon used.

The Illusionists:
Riegon: Cellestria. Cold, mountainous reigon on the icy southern continent.
Capital: The Crystal City.
Fighting Style: Mental weapons.
The Illusionist Guild has never actually been an active participent in the war, prefaring to shun contact with all other cultures alltogether. Other Guilds have occasionally attacked them, but their defences stood firm, as their weapons were very powerful! The Illusionists use the power of the mind as a weapon. Telepathy, telekenesis and other mental attacks are their arsenel, and they are very effective! Their powers do take a lot of energy, and after a prolonged stint even the greatest Illusionist would need rest, but an army of them together is more than a match for most of the other Guilds! Their hermit-like culture, however, has stopped them exploiting this fact.
Extras for Profile: (none)

End.

I like fantasy RP's as well, and that one looks interesting, just a tad complexish 😛
If it does appear I'll have a look at joining it though:)

Yeah, that was my thought too.

I don't mind fantasy RPs, I even thrive on them, but stuff like this which is quite complex and has such strick things to start on is off-putting.

I'll check the intro-post, but I'm not sure I'll join.

Hey, looks good.

I might not join, as I am in about 8 active to semi-active RPs right now...main reason I haven't joined several others.

And the RP Guild isn't just for RPs; discussion topics and stuff are also allowed, due to the point you made that the RPers wouldn't necessarily see it elsewhere. i.e RP-related stuff is cool in the RP Guild.

<.< >.>

Not that I'm an authority on the specifics, or anything... So feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm really sorry, everyone, for my dissapearence. I was half way through updating RPs on Saturday when my internet imploded, and it's only just been fixed now! Sorry for the delay, but now I'm back and ready to rock :thumbsup

Interesting point about the complexity and strictness...you know I figured anything less complex would be classed as "too simple" and nobody would join for that reason...it's what seems to happen to a number of my RPs. I did a lot of planning for this to make it interesting and have lots of possibillities for character's personal stories/subplots/etc...I figure aspects like that make the RP so much more alive and exciting.

And with regard to the strictness...again, I thought this was being quite lenient. Apart from the rule that you can only join one guild, there are pretty much no rules...some RPs have pages and pages of what your character must look like and act like etc, so I figured the guidelines here were very open and left lots of room for options...

Just my viewpoints though...it's interesting to see other's thoughts on it.

I WILL still be starting this RP, but it won't be quite yet. After all the shennannegans with getting my internet repaired I need a rest lol! Keep an eye open for it though...it will be coming soon^^

Though you could simply edit the first posts title and save thread space and use this same topic for the RP.

Well, it depends. Some RPers are more comfortable joining RPs where certain things are well-defined, like having a pre-made character sheet ready for them to use or having certain rules put into place. However, it's also interesting how RPs like the Newbie RPs usually explode with activity - even though they're made specifically for people to practice RPing in, and even though they start out with such a flexible beginning that the first poster can usually take it in any direction.

Simple is good sometimes because it's harder to join an RP that is pages long. But sometimes if a longer post is well-written, it will capture the attention of RPers and will get them excited to join by the time they finish. It's hard to say what a winning formula is, but providing ways for characters to be involved, those character "hooks," is crucial. There needs to be enough information for people to join, enough of the locale described to allow a character to be created who would fit into the scenario.

Random RP lecture over on that, 'twould be nice to see more variety in the Guild but it's also nice to get back to what many people consider the basics of roleplaying: fantasy.

Well, as others have stated their opinions, so I shall state mine. I do indeed love a good fantasy story, and occasionally there will be a fantasy RP that really catches my eye. Personally, Wraith, I think you have a lot of good ideas in that head of yours. =)

This Guild RP is definitely one of those good ideas. Again, this is just my opinion on the matter. I think it's pretty well described what the conflict/plot is, and the descriptions of the 8 Guilds are well thought out. The only thing I'm kinda buggy about in most RPs (it's usually not the GM's fault; I'm just the kind of person who has to make sure I have every little detail right before starting a post) is knowing what the land and setting is like. I can tell there's forest and some mountains and such...but never mind me. Like I said, I overreact to certain things.

Considering all that, this RP looks like one I might think of joining when I have the time. ^^ We'll just have to see.

The settings would be described when the scenes were set up SL, and when I finally figure out how to get a GIF image or hatever the hey it is onto DA I can put up the map of the world too.

Anyone able to help me with that incidentally lol? Let me get the details and I'll edit them into my post.

But yeah, this imput is interesting...throwing up viewpoints etc that I hadn't considered. Keep the info coming all^^

EDIT: Check that DA bit...I worked it out myself (wow maybe I do have a brain after all >.>) I'll put in the link in the opening post then, which will come soon^^

THE CHRONICLES OF ASTERION

Book 1: The Guild Wars

The wind swept the bleak, barren ledge with a vengance, tearing at whatever small vegitation had managed to take root on the rocky crags and sandblasting it into oblivion. The clouds chased each other across the rapidly darkening sky as the sun slowly dipped behind the mountainous horizon, setting the silluhettes of the peaks on fire and lighting up the sky in a dazzling desplay of reds and oranges. To the east, where the darkness was blackest, stars had begun to appear, signaling the approaching night.

Two figures stood quietly on the ledge, regarding the large city on the plateau below. The first was an Elf, standing almost eight feet tall and exceptionally thin and lanky...his frame belied his true strength. His hair was shock white, reaching down to the small of his back, and his eyes were a pale, ghostly blue. His face was thin and angular, and he wore long black robes made of some kind of plastic that shimmered in the fading light.

On his right temple he wore a small circular implant, white, with a little screen sticking forward in front of his eye, and his right hand was covered in a latticework of fine flexible metal, grafted directly onto this skin. His left hand was gloved.

He sighed as he stared down at the tall, spiked towers of the city, lights beginning to flicker on in the many windows. "We've finally arrived." he muttered in a youthful, yet strong voice. "Let's just hope it isn't all for nothing."

"It won't be." replied the other figure in a deep, powerful tone. "They have to see the danger we're in."

The Elf shook his head slowly, brushing his hair out of his eye as it blew in the wind. "I wish I shared your confidence brother." He looked round at his friend, also stood regarding the city with his yellow, reptillian eyes.

He was a Dragon, standing a full foot above the Elf at the shoulder, not counting his long neck! His scales were green, save for a row of yellow that ran down his front from his neck all the way to the tip of his tail. His body was thick and powerful, yet at the same time almost serpantine...lithe and supple...he was obviously strong, but he looked fast as well!

On his back he wore two massive swords...so big many of the other races would have to carry them in two hands! the straps of the swords fell across his chest in an X shape, the handles sticking up behind his shoulders. Just in between the handles, his two massive, powerful wings sprouted, arching up behind him like a cobra's hood!

"If they don't unite, they'll die." he commented, his yellow eyes flicking to the Elf. "They simply wouldn't be that stupid."

"Or at any rate, our job is to convince them not to be." mused the Elf, looking back down at the city again. He raised his right hand, the one with the metal grafts, and looked at it, concentrating a moment. Sparks flickered across his fingers, then a blue-white ball of electricity rose from his palm, floating a little way above his hand on tendrils of electricity and lighting up the pathway around tham. "Come on." he said quietly. "Let's get down there before they close the gates for the night."

The Dragon nodded and followed the Elf down the pathway towards the plateau and the massive gates of Tramaklan City.

============================================================

Rules:

Asterion is a flat world, and it's sun revolves around it, rather than the other way around. Most of it is as yet unexplored, and so far only a small section in the west is known (see map). History of the world is above.

No powerplaying or godmodding.

You can choose one of the "usual" fantasy races, like Elves, Humans, etc, if you like, or make up your own^^ It's completely up to you. If you make up your own, try to write a little bit of ratial history, just so other RPers know where you're coming from and can relate to you.

Multiple characters are allowed. See bios below for bio example.

The city of Tramaklan is a neutral city, not allied with any Guild. It is a massive fortress-like castle, with high walls and massive, pointed towers. Start your character arriving at, or already inside, the city.

Have fun ">

My Characters:

Name: Aellias Shar-Lek
Spicies: Elf
Guild: Techno-Mage
Element of Magic: Light (Electricity)
Skill level: Master
Mechanical Implants: Eye implant gives night vision, infra red, etc. Muscles replaced with hydraulic rams for extra strength. Latticework on right hand aids in spellcasting. Also has the abillity to extend four metal legs from his sides(Doc Ock style) but this takes a lot of energy, so only uses it in emergencies.
History: Was brought up in Akohk-Al'Sete from youth, and enrolled as a Techno-Mage as a matter of course, however he never really agreed with the fighting. He trained hard and became a Master, then he met Sekt while on a mission in The Great Desert. They found they shared the same ideals of ending the war, and so became friends. They have since saved each other's lives on numerous occasions, and have become more like brothers to each other.

Name: Sekt
Spicies: Dragon
Guild: Warriors
Weapon: Two Sword Style
Special Moves: None. Prefares to play battles by ear, to avoid his fighting style becoming predictable.
History: Dragons come from the mountain of Cloudscrag in the mountainous Shalvasa Plateau. Their society is run much like an insect colony, with males as soldiers, sterile females as workers, and a single fertile female as Queen. The Dragons generally prefare to keep themselves to themselves and don't have much contact with the other races, but a few have left their home to explore the world. Sekt was one of these few.

He left for the Vargris Riegon, fascinated by the Warrior Guild's use of weapons for fighting (he was used to using only claws and teeth) so he joined the Guild, and his strength, speed and reactions soon made him a legend throughout the Guild! When he found out about the war, though, he regreted his choice, and decided to try to find a way to end the war as quickly as possible. Whilst out hunting in The Great Desert he came across an Elven Techno-Mage on a secret mission...

OOC: YES! :D If there's anythign wrong with this, please, tell me.

Name: Reina Tang

Guild: The Fighters

Hometown: Quai-Li

Fighting styles: Jeet Kune Do, Hapkido, Taekwondo

Belt: Black (Hapkido, Taekwondo)

Description: 1.6 metres tall, slender, but strong. Has shoulder-length black hair and dark brown irises. Her core muscles are well developed, but are not prominently toned. Skin is slightly tanned. Usually dressed in traditional martial arts garb.

Abilities: Has learnt from her parents the art of controlling her internal chi, and when combined with Hapkido or her other methods of fighting, is very deadly. (However, in combat, it often takes a moment or two to be able to sufficiently channel enough to a specific point within her body before she the attacking body part comes into contact with the opponent.) Responds to attacks very readily, be they by unarmed combatants or those with weapons.

Notes: Often fights without a specific style or system, blending the three styles into one unique style of her own, and applying them as the battle goes on. "Be like water, formless and shapeless." She adapts to her opponents' movements, and always ensures that she does not remain predictable.

Inventory: Spare set of Taekwondo clothes, knee supports to reduce, and if possible, prevent knee injuries

Name: Dylan Wang

Guild: The Snipers

Weapon: Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle

Hometown: Unknown

Description: 1.68 metres tall, muscular, and has well toned muscles. Has very short black hair, which is spiked in backwards curves. Usually wears cargo pants and a camouflage-pattern long-sleeved shirt to go along with it.

Abilities: Knows how to blend in well with terrain, and has a knack for picking good shooting cells from which it is hard to detect his presence even after shooting. Snipes very well over long distances as well.

Inventory: Ammo pouches attached to utility belt that carry spare ammunition, tubes of camouflage paint, and binoculars.

Notes: Learned some Taekwondo from Reina, but is not very skilled with it. Prefers using his gun. Also pays a lot of attention to detail.

Name: Chen Tian Han

Guild: The Warriors

Weapon: Twin katars

Hometown: Unknown

Description: 1.9 metres tall and not very muscular, but is quite strong. Has short silver hair, which is spiked from a side parting, in an almost radial pattern.

Abilities: Very agile, and has excellent reflexes. He responds to even the slightest movement his opponent makes, and balances between aggression and defence. Usually avoids his opponents attacks instead of blocking them.

Special Moves:

Sonic Blow Strikes his target by alternately sweeping his katars outwards several times in rapid succession, finishing with a final forward thrust. Too often, opponents do not see this coming (his usual stance can easily be used for either offence or defence), and all the more dont know what happened even after theyve been hit.

Shadow Dance This is used on multiple targets within an area. He moves with blinding speed, slashing as many as he can with his katars. They are hit within a very short time frame, but this is extremely taxing, and is reserved for times when he is absolutely outnumbered and needs some breathing space.

Inventory: Nothing else.

Notes: Very taciturn; only speaks when necessary. Otherwise, he doesnt respond.

IC:

Reina stepped into the city, and immediately, those who knew of her stepped aside, watching from the sides of the roads, whispering to each other as her two friends walked behind her.

She was the only female in the world who'd succeeded in acquiring the black belt for both Taekwondo and Hapkido, and while learning the principles of Jeet Kune Do! Despite Taekwondo and Hapkido being under the same family, they were quite different. One was focused on direct attacks, while the other dealt with grappling, joint locks and circular motions.

Murmuring among the people continued as they walked through, and she sighed, looking down at the road and her Taekwondo shoes. Did this have to be the case everytime they stepped into a city? Why did they have such fear of a woman well-versed in martial arts?

But wait, no. She mentally laughed when she finally realised why they'd moved aside. It was Tian Han. He was the most widely feared person the Warriors had ever known and trained. With his twin katars and his body, he could slay anyone he was commanded to, and he had never failed a single time so far.

Seeing him in the flesh would naturally be quite shocking for the people. However, this was fortunately a neutral city; there would be no unnecessary fighting here.

They walked forth, not knowing what to expect, except that they had been sent here by their respective guilds for a mission. They were the best of friends, indeed. They'd spent many years together, for they were all they had. Reina's parents were dead, and the other two never even knew their parents.

The trio walked on, hoping to find some place to have their dinner.

"He still doesn't talk much, does he?" whispered Dylan. Reina shook her head, her ponytail sweeping Dylan's nose in the process. "Hmm. Well, at least he takes good care of you." For the comment, he received an elbow to his chest, and gasped for air momentarily before rubbing the area where he'd been hit. "What was that for?!"

"Shut up," replied Tian Han. Dylan turned to him, but his wooden expression remained, and there were no further responses. Dylan sighed, and walked on with the other two.

The Sandman inn

It was a modest little place just on the outskirts of the main square that had a tavern that made up much of the down stairs so that you did have to go to far from your room to eat or get drunk. The man who ran the place was a short rounded and balding man with a touch of red to his cheek. He was a decent enough fellow, very happy too in having so much business. However, his feeling soon changed Zack arrived to check into a room.

He found the small figure of a man standing before him to be spine chilling, which confused the Inn keeper to know end. Zack was only 56 that wore a simple black hooded traveling cloak that masked much of his features. It was odd, yes, but hardly anything chilly or scary about the young man to warrant such a reaction. This amused the young illusionist to no end as he sat alone in the back of the tavern, silently sipping his tea.

The illusionist had a good view in the little corner of the establishment and observed the hate and distrust built up over years of fighting one another dissolve away as a mage and a fighter share a pint of ale with one another. There where others that where far more stubborn to let go their hate, most particularly the group of magi sitting nearby shooting glares at group of warriors just across the room. With the sole purpose of the summit to band the various guilds together, inter guild relations was going to be a necessity. So the laws, rules, or what ever was in place to keep guild members for consorting with enemy guilds had been temporarily tossed out the window.

A lot of bad blood to sift through, thought Zack, taking another sip of tea. He went largely unnoticed by the patrons and was fine with that. The ones that did, though, made sure to steer clear of the young man. It was a trick, something of a psychic field that would keep people away. It wasnt that strong and only worked on the week minded, but weak mind or not, it was a feeling still felt by most. Zack didnt much care to socialize with anyone, especially those from other groups. But never the less he was here, his only purpose to sit in on the talks as a representative of his own guild.

His presence here signified just how serious the rumours where being taken. Illusionist rarely cared for what happened outside their territory and never got involved in any of the petty squabbles between the guilds. They where also the widest feared because of it, why where they so secretive behind their walls? The simply truth that no one guild where able to successfully raid their borders added to it. So for there to be an Illusionist so far from his homeland really said something about the troubled times, they now lived in.

So here he was, Zackary Holmes, sitting in the back of the tavern sipping his tea.

God, I'm so bored!

----

Name: Zackary Holmes
Spicies: Human
Guild: Illusionist
Weapon: A simple dagger, his mind
Appearance:

(OOC: Looking good so far all^^ Vic, I assume all your characters are Humans?)

IC:

The light had faded considerably by the time Aellias and Sekt reached the gates of the city. Fortunately they were just in tame...the guards on the gates were beginning to close them as they approached. They stared at the tall figures with a mixture of interest and apprehension as they passed.

Tramaklan was packed...the main street was so full that movement was difficult amongst the crowds! Noise was everywhere as traders made use of the crowds, keeping their shops and stalls open into the night in the hopes of getting more sales. The taverns and inns along the main street were jam packed, light filling their windows and sounds of music and raucus laughter spilling out onto the streets.

Aellias looked around as they walked, his implant peering into the dark alleys between buildings and scanning the figures around them. Many Guild members were here...he recognised Warriors, Mages, Fighters...even a group of Morphers were in the crowd, a young group. He hadn't expected any of them to turn up!

"We need an Inn." muttered Sekt, also looking round at the crowds. "We'd better get one soon...there may not be spaces for much longer."

Their thoughts were interrupted by a commotion nearby. They looked round to see two figures stood near the door to one of the taverns, alone. The crowd had moved back to give them a wide birth. One of them wore a large axe on his back, apparently a Warrior, and he was staggering, blind drunk! The other wore short, lavishly decorated robes and a pair of leather gloves on his hands. The Warrior was a Dwarf, while the other, apparently a Fighter, was Human.

"Jus' who yer think yer pushin' eh?" growled the Dwarf, slurring his loud words badly. "I'll show ya who...!" With some dificulty thanks to his condition he reached behind his back and unclipped his axe, raising it into the air and brandishing it before thw Warrior venomously. His opponant, apparently nonplussed, simply raised his fists to his chest and stood up onto his toes, ready to duck out of the way. He certainly wasn't drunk.

Aellias groaned. "Why am I not supprised." he muttered, shaking his head. "So much for the truce! We'd better do something before this gets ugly!"

Sekt nodded. "I know the Dwarf. He's a respectable, honorable Warrior until he gets his hands on the drink." He glanced around at the onlooking crowd. "Maybe when other Guild members see what we're doing they'll help us out." he muttered.

His Elf companion nodded too, before stepping forward through the crowd and placing himself between the two antagonists. "Alright you two, that's enough." he spoke in a loud, clear voice. "We're here as allies, not enemies."

OOC: YESH, they be humans. ^^

IC:

Tian Han watched the commotion at the doorway from where he sat, and shook his head, pulling down the mask over his mouth to drink his tea.

"Moron..." muttered Dylan. Reina shrugged, and continued eating her dinner. For a female her size, she was eating an unusually large amount of food! "You know, Reina, maybe you should eat a little less..."

"What was that?" she said, giving him an icy glare.

"Uhh, nothing. Nothing at all."

"Hmph." She kicked his shin, and he grabbed it with both hands, slamming his face into the table at the same time. She laughed, and Tian Han lowered his head in exasperation as Dylan rubbed his sore nose.

Tian Han's glance remained upon the drunker Warrior and the confident Fighter. Surely they wouldn't start a fight in a neutral city...

Name: Ozwald Greengrich
Allegiance: The Morpher Guild
Species: Human ('cause I'm boring :p )
Appearance: Wears clothes animal in nature (i.e. furs, skins, necklace of teeth, tail for a belt). Average-sized, he is strong, having developed well his body. He is a hairy man, maintaining a wild appearance.
Fighting Style: When in human form, he fights taking advantage of his great strength, using wrestling-type moves to break down his opponents. With no formal training, his attacks are both unconventional and brutal, hard to predict but having flaws. In beast form, he is a berserker, striking with everything he has at his enemies.
Beast Name: Werewolf Sigma
Beast Appearance: A larger werewolf is the simplest way to describe it. Scales appear in small patches all over his body. His tail is long and powerful, ending in a flexible fin, and able to strike like a whip or hold things. Fur is orange-grey, scales blue-purple. His right arm is three times the size of the left, hanging at his side like a leech. The limb is clumsy, but extremely powerful.
Beast Powers: He can compress air inside his lungs, and shoot it out in a hot burst of steam with enough force to knock even heavier humans off their feet. His giant right arm can extend many long porcupine-like needles from it, for use as either added offense or defense.
Degree of Control: Before he transforms, he mentally chooses allies and enemies. When transformed, he goes into a berserker frenzy, and once there are no more enemies or he wrests control from the Beast, he will shift back. If he doesn't spend enough time focusing on choosing his allies, he may attack anyone nearby until knocked unconscious.

IC:

Ozzy watched the Dwarven Warrior with mild interest. He was standing in the street, enjoying the open air, when he heard the rucus. He didn't particularly enjoy a pointless fight, and he didn't want to see it get out of hand, so he stepped forward in silence, ready to add in his two cents to try to calm the drunk.

He was still aware of the group of younger Morphs he had travelled here with. They weren't too far away, and in this case he hoped they would have the sense to keep their distance. He would feel responsible if they got in trouble while he was so close by.

While stepping closer, he eyed the Elf and Dragon. They were certainly strong in their own right, and probably wouldn't need someone as 'uncivilized' as him to help them, but he tried not to let that stop him from doing what he wanted.

(OOC: Looks good Way^^ Thanks for joining. Still room for more...I hope we get enough people to carry it on *hint hint*

Warning: major angst ahead! lol this post gives a little insight onto inter-Guild relations...it's pretty similar between all the Guilds, with some personal exceptions)

IC:

"An' jes who are you ta order me about???" retorted the Dwarf, rounding on Aellias and brandishing his axe in the Elf's face.

"He's our ally for the duration of this conferance, Koreg! You'd be wise to listen to him!"

The Dwarf blinked as Sekt stepped forward from the crowd too, towering over everyone in the area and even moreso over the short frame of his Warrior counterpart! "Sir Sekt!" exclaimed Koreg, dropping his axe and giving the Warrior Guild's salute. "Tis an honor, sir! I've always wanted to meet a Dragon, and when I heard about one joining the Guild..."

"And you're drunk." interrupted Sekt. "Look at you! We're here in a time of truce and you're trying to start a fight??? You're risking dishonoring our entire Guild, you fool!"

Koreg shook his head urgently "No...no I was just...I mean..."

"Get yourself to bed." growled Sekt, staring down at the Dwarf's form. "We'll need you stark sober for the debate tomorrow. I won't mention this to the Warrior Knights...this time."

Without another word Koreg collected his axe and ran off into the inn at top speed. Aellias looked across at his friend with a slight smile on his face. "You get that reaction from all Warriors?" he asked wryly.

Sekt shook his head. "I'm known by most, but I'm nothing particularly special. There are better Warriors...it's only my size and wings that give me an advantage over some. Besides, Koreg has a fascination for Dragons." The last statement was uttered with an air of confusion, and Aellias grinned.

The Fighter that had been facing off against Koreg was still stood nearby, having watched the scene between Koreg and Sekt, and now his gaze slid over to the Dragon. "Typical Warrior...less brain than an Imp." he muttered sarcastically.

Sekt looked at him a moment, then shook his head. "I'm sorry you feel that way." With that he turned, making to set off down the street again through the crowd.

"And less courage than a Mayfly too it would seem!" called the Fighter slyly after him. "No wonder your Guild is weak!"

Aellias glanced around a little apprehensivley. There were other Guild members around...another Fighter and Warrior at a table nearby...even a Morpher in the crowd looking on...and if there was anyone inside the tavern, they'd probably be able to hear too! This could be a problem! "I don't think it's worth giving him the satisfaction of anger." he muttered to Sekt quietly. The Dragon shook his large, scaley head.

"I don't intend to." he replied, just as quietly.

The Fighter, while not hearing what had been spoken, saw the exchange. "And just what have you got to do with it, Majai?" he asked, his eyes sliding over to the Elf...

That was it. Before the Elf could reply, Ozzy walked closer and faced the Fighter. "Bad talk and fighting need to be saved for when they mean something. Please, be quiet, and let us all get some rest without a bad taste in our mouths."

And with that, he turned, and walked away.

Tian Han continued looking as the events unfolded, and he simply finished his tea while Reina continued devouring her dinner. Dylan was right - she did have a large food intake for her size!

Dylan checked his gun, ensuring that there was no damage to it. It was quite an elegant rifle, and a powerful one at that. Extremely accurate, too. As he slid his hand over the magazine, wiping it of dirt, Reina gulped down an entire mug of water.

"Phew... That was good," she said, her hunger satisfied. "Who are they, anyway?"

"I recognise the dragon," replied Tian Han.

"Who is he?"

"Sekt."

"And...?" asked Dylan, probing for details. He disliked Tian Han's habit of leaving him hanging, but there was no way to change his taciturn self. "Ugh... Never mind. I guess we'll just have to wait for them to enter to find out."
