The father of the Link household sat in his chair in the two-story home. It had been 14 years passed since his wife had died so suddenly and so painfully to him. He alone- to take care of a family of three male children. Sure enough, though- it was good that his children had minimal knowledge in the three arts. Mind. Strength. Speed. As he stood there, remembering things of the past- he felt a surge through his mind and he closed his eyes and put his index finger to his forehead in surprise. It was late at night, and no one he knew in this time did this type of communication. The only person he possibly knew would have been the Priest up in the Northern Hylian Mountains. But why would he be contacting him so far away?
No.
The communication- it was close. He bit his lip and let his mind open to the message.
Help! I am a prisoner in the Dungeon of the Castle, my name is Zelda. the voice called out. He blinked thinking, Zelda? The kings daughter?
The wizard, Agahnim, has done.something to the others. I think Im the only one who remains. Agahnim has seized control of the castle and is now attempting to do.he is attempting to open the seal set by the Seven Wise Men 4,000 years ago.
The Seven Wise Men? The Seven Sages? He bit his lip.
I am in the Dungeon of the Castle. Please help me. with that plea of help the message faded. He knew this was not good. He sighed and went to a piece of paper and began writing.
I am going out.for a while- boys. Ill be back by morning- do not leave the house. Providence is on Curfew, I dont want you kids in trouble either. he finished and went to his weapon rack and retrieved a swords sheath and clipped it to his waist. He then retrieved his cloak and large steel shield and took his large long sword from the large weapon rack which also held three other weapons of different style and use. One, a bow. The other a Quarterstaff. The last was another Long Sword.
He blinked and sighed. He headed out. Hopefully his sonswould obey him.
Forty-Six years old, and going on a quest. He was too old for this. As he left his home, the heavy rain touched his face as he sighed he figured he was a good two miles away from the vicinity of the Castle he looked back one more time at it. And headed to the castle, his tracks leaving marks in the damp mud. As he made it to the outskirts of the castle two soldiers stopped him.
You shall not pass. one of the two droned, their swords already drawn.
He bit his lip and withdrew his blade swiftly and decapicitated one of the guards heads and then jammed the sword in the other guards head- in between the eyes. My apologies hed mutter as he ran into the castles main gate.
On arrival archers above noticed him and he narrowed his eyes as he ran right- to avoid the shell of arrows. There were too many- he looked for some cover- a wellof some sort. Not goodbut it had to do. He jumped for it- and fell into the darkness.
EAH!!!!!
The sound of legs breaking as his body hit a soldier standing guard at the underground passage was heard. Eh.apologies. hed mutter as he stood up and walked up the narrow passage. And then three crossbowmen stepped in the hallway and opened fire on the intruder.
OH- MY- GO--- he then screamed as he was shelled and soon slumped where he was.coughing up his blood. He closed his eyes and cursed.
Hes dead, lets leave him to die. The Wizard will be relieved. But how did the wizard know he would come?
Hes supposed to be a friend of the king from the wars. -and the wizard knows all.
Hmm- alright. Lets go. with that the bowmen left.

OOC: So, yeah this is a Legend of Zelda- A Link to the Past based RP, and Im hoping two people join me as a son of the Link Familys father and such. I changed it a bit, and I plan to. So, basic rules apply. And lets do this.
Heres to hope this is sucessful.
OOC: Count me in on this! I've beaten this game twice, only because it was so nice. =P In any case, this won't be the first time I take control of a male character, being a girl and all, but, this is really interesting.
IC:
Mateo had been unable to sleep for sometime now. Ever since his father left him and his older brothers in the house alone, he had this feeling that it would be the last time he would see him...
He tried to shrug it off and go to sleep, but it proved too strong to ignore. He didn't want to keep holding this in, but he didn't want to wake up his older brothers...
Mateo let out a sigh, running his fingers through his light brown hair. It was then that he heard the voice of one of his brothers speak to him.
"What's wrong, Mat?"
Auric, the eldest- age 17 was the one who had spoken. He had been laying in bed not even getting a ounce of sleep since his father took off in the middle of night into the stormy hell that was outside.
"Eh? What's wrong Mat?" he asked again. "Father's leaving in the middle of the night getting to you too?" he asked.
Mateo glanced to see it was Auric speaking to him, and nodded.
"I just keep getting this thought... this sense... that he won't be coming back," he replied sadly. "This storm... I think it to be an ill omen, Auric..."
OOC Sounds interesting but arent you limiting your own story line with three heroes?
(Nah, only three brothers of the Link family. Can't really start without three people. There could be others that tag along with the Link Brothers later and all...)
"This storm... I think it to be an ill omen, Auric..." said Auric's brother. He nodded in responce knowing he had felt the same way. But he didn't know why; father had gone off in the middle of the night before. Why was this different?
It kind of bothered him.
"Yeah. I feel that way too." he nodded. "It's strange, isn't it?"
OOC: This looks cool! ^^ I haven't really played Legend of Zelda, but I've watched my brother and I know the basic storyline. Think I can pull it off?
IC: Milithadril pulled the blankets up to his chin and stared silently at the far wall. His brothers' pondering about their father's strange absence had gotten him worried, though he would never admit it. At 14, and a middle child, he was determined to prove himself as the strong one, the one who wouldn't get scared despite being alone at night in a dark house.
"H..." His voice stuttered, but he bit his lip and continued. "He'll come back eventually...Right?"
"Hmm?" Auric blinked as he heard the voice of the other brother of the three, Milithadril and his concern of father coming back eventually. "I...just don't know- I just have a bad feeling tonight." he'd mutter.
"I mean why is tonight different then any other day?"
"It's-it's NOT different!" The outburst escaped, along with the fear, before the younger boy could gain control on it. "He just went for...for a walk, to visit a friend! He'll be back by morning..." Sighing miserably, he rolled over and faced his brothers. "What do we do if he doesn't come back?" he whispered.
Auric blinked, kind of suprised by his younger brother's out burst. "Mil...I don't know. But- I just can't stay here wondering whats happened to father. I'm not going to let this nerving feeling get the best of me." Auric said as he stood up and sighed.
He opened the door of the bedroom of the small two-story house and looked into the empty hallway. He walked into it and turned his head. "You guys staying in bed?"
Mateo looked uncertain, but he stood on his feet as well.
"I... I'm coming," the 13-year-old said, even though he truly didn't want to venture out into the stormy weather. "I have to know... whether or not Father is..."
"You're not leaving me alone," Milithadril said softly, coming to stand beside Mateo. "Something's happened to Father, and I won't rest until we find him again!" Strong words, for one so frightened of how they would find him...
Auric nodded to himself as he headed down the hall, towards the wooden spiral staircase that went to the living room, den, and kitchen of the home. "Hmm..." he stopped at the Den. Father might of left something if he was leaving- he always did. So Auric opened the door to the den and noticed a note on the table. He looked at the note and bit his lip. Even with a note, it didn't feel right to him and he didn't quite know why. He then froze as he saw something- the weapon rack.
On the weapon rack was Auric's quarterstaff, and his brothers bow, and his other brothers light long sword, but.... father's ceramonial war long sword and shield... it was gone!
He jumped.
He did not expect that.
Mateo froze at what he saw. That terrible sense of despair he had been feeling became even stronger.
He almost shoved his way past his eldest brother to take a closer look, refusing to believe his emotions.
The young adolescent then saw the note that Auric held in his hand and the expression on his face.
"Brother... wh-what does that paper say...?" Mateo dared to ask, knowing it would probably confirm his worst fears...
Auric nodded, he didn't expect this at any porportion. He gulped and read the note. I am going out.for a while- boys. Ill be back by morning- do not leave the house. Providence is on Curfew, I dont want you kids in trouble either.
The note wasn't out of the ordinary, but the missing sword and shield..was.
People don't bring weapons on evening outings. It just wasn't done. Wherever their father had gone, it was nowhere good, nowhere safe...Nowhere their father should be!
"Why?" Milithadril whispered, swallowing to get rid of the lump in his throat. "Why would he leave in the middle of the night with his weapons and leave us nothing more than a note? Why..." He cut off, knowing that none of them knew the answers and he was doing nothing but furthering their own fears. Instead, he spoke in a dull, detached voice-a voice he barely recognized as his own-and asked the question that he was sure was gnawing at the back of his brothers' minds as surely as his own.
"Do we stay as he says to?"
(OOC: Since EZbarf is glitching for me, Im going to coppy paste TB's post and add my own.)

Auric blinked, knowing what he was full well going to do- he grabbed his quarterstaff- which was a beautiful black color with golden rings around the staff's bottom and end. He grabbed the sheath for the weapon and sheathed it on himself. "I don't know about you guys- but father's gone somewhere dangerous. And I'll have none of it."
He looked towards the front doors.
Should he stay? or should he go?
..Go.
Milithadril hesitated, watching Auric strap on his weapon, then his own hand closed over a hilt-the hilt of the light long sword. Picking it up, he ran his eye over the blade, as he had so many times before, then he lifted the sheath from its spot beside the weapon and wrapped the belt around his waist, still slowly, still automatic. Only when the blade slid in with its customary screech did the weight of their actions set in. Could he walk out of that door, leave the house that was his last bastion of safety, and enter that storm?
But Father was gone. There was nowhere safe, nowhere except for where the missing member of the family had disappeared to. He wouldn't stay in this house without him any longer, not for all the rupees in the world.
"I'm with you," he said to Auric.
OOC: I'm thinking about joining unless I can get a Morrowind roleplay going. I don't know yet. I just wanted to know if it was too late. And not to be a beeotch know-it-all, but the king's name is Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule. You put King Zelda. Just thought I'd point that out.
OOC: You'll be free to join in pretty much anytime; and does it really matter if I put King Zelda? *shrug* It's just a RP.
Mateo watched as his older brothers equipped their respective weapons, ready face what could await them. He remained unsure at first, but he soon found himself putting on his on weapon, his bow and arrows.
"I'm coming too, Auric," he said to his eldest brother, sounding confident even though he truly wasn't...
OOC: Like I said, I wasn't trying to be a Nerdy McKnowitall.
Just thought I'd point it out. I'm a Zelda nerd. What can I say? Anyway, COOL! I hafta come up with a character and a name first. Wish me luck on the name because I have a terrible time with names.
Such a weather that makes me feel so burdened and alone.
Father is out there.
And I am here.
I need to be out there.
But what does a boy do when he has no clue how to do it?
Auric blinked as he opened the front door of the house, taking a solemn deep breath. "Here goes nothing." he'd mutter under his breath as he looked at the outside- on their home on the hill. But Auric would notice something even in the heavy rain. The roads to town, and the river were blocked by guards. As he stepped out lgihtning struck behind him...at the castle.
Was father there?
Grabbing his hat from the floor and placing it on his messy light brown hair, Mateo followed his eldest brother outside into the storm that raged outside.
As soon as he set foot beyond the safety of home, the rain immediately pelted his face. Wiping water from his eyes, he followed Auric's gaze towards Hyrule Castle.
"Brother," he muttered, brushing his hair from his face.
He had nothing to protect him from the storm, and frankly, Milithadril prefered it that way. The torrent of rain and shrieking wind seemed to mirror the turmoil within his own heart. Seeing his brothers staring off at the castle in the distance, he stood behind them, not bothering to ask. The other two had already spoken his thoughts perfectly.
Auric began to wonder..for a minute again. He shook his head; he had to hurry. "Alright..." he muttered as he looked down the cliff that which propelled the home on a steep hill. He tapped his fots together and slowly made himself jump off of the hill and towards the now- quickily appearing lower-ground. "Eah!" he yelled in the air and until his lightly-padded boots touched the humid and soggy mix of ground, rain, grass, and mud. A lgiht splash-splosh was ehard as he stayed in place, he looked above the hill: to his brothers.
His eyes said what his mouth did not.
Comming?
Mateo clenched his fists and took a leap forward, holding his bow firmly in his hand. He landed rather clumsily on his feet, splashing muddy water all over his boots.
The young adolescent nearly slipped as he brought himself up to his full height, and he straightened his hat, now soaked and matted to his head like the rest of his hair due to the rain.
Milithadril made a valiant attempt to follow his borthers' grace as they leapt down the hill, and succeeded until the landing. As he touched down, his feet slipped out from under him and he fell backwards into the mud, landing with a small splash on the sodden ground.
"Oops," he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck and pushing his dripping hair out of his eyes. The faint attempt at light-heartedness fell short in the raging storm however, and he stood up, silent once more.
Auric nodded as he took a light breath looking out to the castle. Again. He stepped foward, looking up at the castle of Hyrule in the distance-- not too far away. He bit his lip and kept his right hand clenched on his staff. He took a deep breath. "Okay...here goes nothing...you- you aren't a coward." he told himself in his mind. He looked at his family for a moment hten back at the Castle, he started towards the giant castle in the distance. His steps clapping against the soft soil, mud, and water. This was probally the heaviest rainstorm he had seen throughout his life. This had to be a bad omen. He coughed a bit... and walked for the castle.
Here he went..
Mateo immediately followed at Auric's heels towards Hyrule Castle.
Through the pounding rain, he was still able to see his surroundings, and keep sight of his brothers.
As they neared the castle, Mateo thought he could see several guards walking about the perimeter outside the walls. They seemed to be something perculiar about them to the boy, something he just couldn't dismiss.
It was around then that Mateo felt a sharp pain in his head, as though someone had bludgeoned him in the head with a stone. He nearly lost his footing, and had to pause.
Closing his eyes, Mateo tried to focus his mind... that's when he felt sensed it...
Someone... or something... was trying to communicate with him...
... or so he thought...?
Auric could feel it too...the purging of his mind. He bit his lip and stopped, closing his eyes. He heard it...the voice, beautiful and serene. But in despair. He tried to let his mind keep calm as to hear this.... "message"?
"Please help me!" the female voice in despair called out, loudly. "My name is Zelda. I am the King's daughter. I am being held captive in the castle. Please. There is not much time. I need you now. Help me I beg of you." Auric blinked. What an Explanation. Wait...what was the princess doing being held ca[ptive...let alone in her own castle? This sent a shiver down his spine; and msot-likely his brothers too if they heard it, as well.
"I am being held prisoner in the castle. Please, for the love of Hyrule, Help me." Then the voice faded out, as if the weakness of the whole situationengulfed the princess. Auric opened his eyes and nodded.
He looked up at the guards walking on the walls, and could hear guards around the castle as well. The heavy iron touching the grass. He slowly approached a wall and put his back to it as he peeked through the open gate.
....the second gate- to the keep of the castle, it was closed and lcoked guarded by two swordsmen clad in blue iron. "Can't go in that wa- huh??" he'd mutter as he felt another sharp pain at his head. He cleared his mind again.
Zelda's voice. "There is a secret entrance in the courtyard.... around the stone bench's." she'd say and fade again.
Auric shook his head and nodded, being to the Castle before; once when he was younger he recalled the courtyard. His father had went to the castle by king's request. Why, he wouldn't remember... he shrugged and looked to the thin grassy pathway that would lead into the courtyard. But before he'd go to it, he'd wait for his brothers: who no doubtily had heard the last message by Zelda as well.
OOC: Do you guys want to continue this RP, cause I sure as hell do.

The dungeon was pretty much like any other dungeon you would've read of in the story books. Dark; lit only by two wall-mounted torches, that were dimming. Damp; the raging torrent of rain outside was causing flooding, flooding that was making its way down through the many cracks and openings in the castle's structure.
Several puddles had even formed already, making the cells not so much damp as the were outright wet. Ezan Fortai, the man sitting in one of those wet cells, still fully clad in his formal armor as a Hylian Guard. He was rather young - only eighteen, and today, in fact, had been his first day on duty. The young man had been in training the past few months to become a guard in Hyrule Castle, and he had no sooner walked to his post when the castle had been invaded by pig-like creatures. Tons of them. The guards at the castle had quickly been cut down, most dead, few kept alive and thrown into the dungeon. The pig monsters had said something about 'live feed'.
What made it worse was that his princess, the one he was supposed to protect, was a few cells down from him and he couldn't do a damn thing about it.
With a sigh he lifted his head from his hand, running his gloved hand through his messy brown hair before replacing the helmet.
He wondered how long they'd let him live.
The loud clank of metal was heard throughout the exterior of the cells, the heavily-armoured creature cloaked in the dark purple and black armour of darkness. It's crimson red eyes peering out of the creatures helmet. The eyes.. seeming.. to never blink. A low growl emitted out of the evil armoured-creature as well, it's weapon dragging against the stone floor; cracking the occasional stone as it scraped across the floor.
As it patroled, in the last cell at the end of the corridor was the Princesses Cell, her eyes opening as she took a deep breath. The message was sent to the only ones that could help now. And she feared; that her father's friend had fallen- and the people outside the castle were her only hope. She sighed lightly as she kept herself sitting on the stone bench in the cell.
A small purple cloth was wrapped around her left leg; right below the knee; at the calf. A bit of the cloth was darkended- like a wet substance had gotten to it. Well, that would be half right. The princess wasn't exactly handled nicely when she was 'escorted' to the cell.
She had applied the cloth recently, before she sent out the messages she could. It still hurt, sure. But she had to worry about the people and when they were going to rescue her-- that's if they could.
She hoped for the best.
"I can only hope." she thought aloud as she bowed her head.
Mateo followed his eldest brother closely as they reached the courtyard. Wiping his eyes in a futile attempt to see better in the horrid weather, the boy thought he spotted a rather suspicious looking bush.
"Brother... look!"
It had took a little bit of sneaking carefully but he had made it to the courtyard, although a guard had spotted him a few momments earlier and attacked him he had blocked with his wooden staff- but it was cut in peices by the guards sword and sheer force. Though before the guad at the time would do anything more his brother and his bow quickily saved his own hide. Thats when they went to finding the courtyard, which wasn't too had to find. As he thought about it, he was snapped out of said daydream and opened his eyes due to one of his brothers.
"Brother... look!"
He looked at where it was instigated and he nodded.
He though unarmed now, was going about investigating very catiousily. He walked up to the bush and tried pushing it or something. It did nothing. So he thought jumping on the bush would activate a switch or staircase or something. He was wrong.
He fell in a hole that was under the bush- the bush falling with him as a cushion of sorts. "YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" he yelled in sudden suprise.
As he came to a crunch he found himself in a damp, dark area. Tunnels of somesort he supposed. With a light sigh we stood up from his posistion and wiped himself off. He also noticed that the area to the left was another passage in the utunnels with lights of torches in the far end.
He nodded. And looked up, and then around- and found a rotating lever of some type. As he rotated the lever a ladder formed from the hole from his position to upward. This would allow his brothers to get down safely.
OOC: I'm glad this is up and running again! It's too late for me to do anything now, but I'll try and post an IC tomorrow. Laterz. ^^
IC:
Milithadril scowled, staring warily down into the darkness that had swallowed his older brother. Somehow this seemed too easy, everything falling exactly into place and making him nervous. It shouldn't be this perfect, not with things the way they were, their father missing and the princess kidnapped...
But then again, maybe he was just stirring up trouble. If things were working, why couldn't he just let them work, instead of searching endlessly for possibilities for it all to fall apart? Soon, they'd be with Father again, and the princess would be safe, and they could all go home and go back to sleep and forget about everything. Oh, sleep, such sweet sweet sleep, forever lost to them on this stormy night of shattered paradise and broken dreams.
Sliding his feet over the edge of the hole, he swung his sword sheath behind him and began to climb, down into the darkness of atmosphere and soul. Nothing had been going right so far this evening. Did he honestly think he could make himself believe they would start now?
-
Ezan heard the slow, eerie scraping noise of the prison keeper's heavy spiked ball as it got closer to him. Meh, he had already gone by what seemed like a million times now, and still that noise, along with those eyes and that weird way he breathed, sent shivers up his spine.
He stood. What was he doing?! He, a supposed proud soldier of Hyrule! He shouldn't be sitting here in a cell, cowering in fear! He should be looking for a way out, a way to save the Princess. And that was just what he would do.
These creatures that appeared; they were strong, but didn't seem overly smart. Maybe if he could just get one of them mad enough...
"Hey, ugly!" Ezan yelled as the prison keeper got close. "Yeah you! You little piss-ant! You don't look too tough. Just a little weakling, if you ask me. Think you can keep me in here much longer? Ha! You can kiss my ass!"
He silently cursed himself for using such language before the Princess, telling himself he'd have to beg her forgiveness later, when they had escaped.
But right now he had to wait and see what the armored fiend was going to do.
Mateo followed behind Milithadril as he, too, descended into the darkness. He hopped off the ladder when he was almost to the cold, stone floor. He looked around these surroundings as he took off his soaked hat, occaisionally pausing to wring the water out of it.
It was then he felt his fear and anxiousness was starting to get the best of him. It may have been just how frigid it seemed to him, but there was no denying that something was horribly wrong here.
Ezan's comment didn't go to the mind of the heavily armored creature even then. It would turn to him and a somewat sound of a grunt would be heard. As it turned and went back to patroling the few couple of cells.
As Ezan attempts grew worthless on the guard, Auric and his two brothers regrouped once again. Altough soon they would discover tragedy. As they had rejoined and walked through the subterrean tunnels under the castle, they soon found themselves hearing a low moan; a dying groan.
"Hm?" Auric raised a brow as he approached the groan catiousily. As he approached the dimly lit area of he tunnels he found his father hunched on the ground, bleeding and near death.
".F..F...Father?" Auric began to stutter the words. Obviousily in shock.
"Unnh.. I didn't want you involved in this... I told you not to leave the house...Take my sword and shield and listen. Save the Princess...Zelda is your... ... ..." with his last breath he was done. Himself dead in a pool of blood in a tunnel under a Castle now invaded by a unknown enemy.
Auric couldn't say a word, but he did as his father said and picked up the family shield and sword. He sheathed the blade and donned the shield on his back. With that done he glanced to his brothers and took off his hat to wipe his tears, when done he tossed it on the ground.
He was utterly speechless. His father was dead.... and... he didn't know if he could of stopped it.
Dead. Their father was dead, forever dead, forever gone, and they were alone. Milithadril stood before the body, numb, unfeeling, unthinking just...numb. So many things were swirling in his heart, begging for release, that his mind simply froze and locked it all up. Oh, he wanted to cry as Auric was, he wanted to scream and beat the ground, curse the earth, curse the sky, curse the sadistic sense of humour that had thrust them into this unrelenting nightmare.
But he was numb.
Frozen and numb, in a time that required absolutely none of each.
So he shook it off, shook of his horror and pain and fear, and locked it away inside where it could hinder him no more. Father was dead, but unless they kept going, everyone else's lives would soon follow. Out of all possible ending scenarios, no matter how frightening some of them may be, Milithadril couldn't keep that one from occuring.
Drawing in a shuddering breath, he closed his eyes for a moment, accepting the truth, accepting the facts and blatantly ignoring his heart's desperate efforts to gain his mind's attention on the matter, then turned and faced his brothers.
"We should go," he said, and his voice did not shake.
His worst fears had finally come to pass...
Even so, Mateo didn't do anything. He simply stood his ground and stared, wide-eyed, at what was once his father. He wanted to break down right where he was, regardless of whoever would find them, but he didn't.
He wanted to think that this was some sort of sick nightmare his mind had sprung on him, but he didn't.
He felt as though he were going mad. He wanted to scream, do anything to let his emotions out, but he couldn't bring himself to do any of that.
All he could do was stare...
The only thing that snapped him out of his inner turmoil was his brother's voice.
"We should go."
Please, let's go, he thought, turning to him and shutting his own eyes tight, I don't want to be here any longer!
Yeah. They should go. Auric nodded to himself mentally, before doing so to his brothers. "Okay." thats all he could say right now. He shook his head for a momment as he looked on to the staircase to the left, it seemed to elad up into the castle and out of these tunnels. He bit his lip and unsheathed his sword. There were enemies. And enough of them, but he myswell be prepared for the unevitable. They had to save the princess.
Heading towards the stairs he looked back on his brothers and then looked back ahead of him before he began walking upward again.
As he walked up another staircase, and another the group seemed to be right outside the main corridor of the Palace. The big double doors not far from them. -but what Auric noticed the most was four armed-soldiers. They hadn't seen them yet so he gestured to Mateo to aim and snipe what soldiers he could with his bow; while Auric and Milithadril would wait until the Soldiers noticed they were being attacked.
He kept a defense poise for the moment.
