(OOC: Whoops sorry Pach, didn't realise Warrik was a PC! I'll bear it in mind.)

Arista sighed slightly, a hint of reserved sadness entering her face.

"I can answer both questions at once." she replied, quieter than before. "I'm interested in them, and you can trust me implicitly, because they are responsible for my parent's death."

Lucent raised an eyebrow.

"When the ARK fell they captured me and my parents. We were "on their turf" apparently." Arista's eyes became watery, but her voice didn't waver. "They held us for months...tortured us horribly...eventually they killed my mum and dad, forcing me to watch. I managed to escape, but I can never forgive them for what they did. They have to be killed, both of them, and their minions." She took a deep breath, fixing Lucent with a brave yet pained stare. "I'll stop at nothing to make sure that happens." she finished, her voice barely a whisper.

============================================================

"Captain, listen..."

"I said move!"

"Wraith get down!" roared Lexx as he stormed forward, knocking Warrick backwards and making him drop his gun. "Get out of here!"

"Lexx, NO!" shouted Wraith, but it was already too late. The GUN weapons fired, and the gorilla fell with a roar.

Wraith reacted quickly. Ducking down, he rolled sideways as bullets pinged around him. The other figure, the one who had joined them, was already jumping out of the way towards the side of the overpass.

Wraith lunged forward and grabbed the wounded Lexx, heaving him onto his shoulder as quickly as he could. The gorilla was heavy, but Wraith's strength, coupled with the adrenneline of the situation, allowed him to run to the edge of the highway with his cargo. Bullets pinged off his armour as he jumped into the air, turning slightly to transfer Lexx's weight to his back rather than his shoulders.

Pain exploded through his leg, and he cried out.

Spreading his arms wide, he caught the air with his long dreadlocks and coat, forming a kind of parachute around him. It was a full fifty feet to the street below, but the air under his dreadlocks allowed him to glide slowly down to the ground.

With the extra weight it wasn't a smooth landing though. They landed on the floor with a bump, skidding along the concrete for a meter or so, and shredding Wraith's trenchcoat. Gritting his teeth, he stood up, ignoring the blistering pain in his knee, and dragged himself and Lexx over to a nearby manhole cover.

The GUN soldiers on the bridge had moved over to the parapet and were still firing off round after round at them, but Wraith lifted the cover off the manhole, using it like a shield, as he threw Lexx into the hole, then jumped in himself...

Damn hulk, Warrick muttered to himself under his breath. I didnt expect the dumb ape to actually be stupid enough to try and attack whilst being aimed at by all this personnel

Sir, two of them have entered the sewage system and are in the tunnels. A guard who had just walked up to Warrick spoke, raising his sloping glasses up to inspect the huge man.

And that other cloaked figure? Warrick asked.

One of the helicopters has moved after it, chasing it down. Whoever the person is, they havent entered the sewage system at all yet. Were still trailing the suspect down.

Good, send backup to assist and capture that damn freak. Warrick ordered. He looked up, there was still one more helicopter up above them, searching the area for whoever slashed the tyres and attacked the now unconscious GUN guards. And capture those two. Warrick pointed a thumb over his shoulder to the two wounded raid men who were earlier sniped. And more importantly, tell headquarters to make sure to lock up the entire sewage network. I want them trapped, and I want them caught now.

That would be uh, difficult, sir. Perhaps even a near impossibility. Shutting down the whole network and all entrances is just an impossibility. They could escape from any other manhole. The guard assistant spoke.

Perhaps, but they cant get away too far. That Echidna is after all, carrying that damn idiot with him. That should slow him down. Get all true ground personnel nearby to get down into those sewers and find them. Warrick commanded, walking forwards and past the assistant.

Of course, sir. That order has already been given. The assistant replied. I anticipated such a decision and have already set it in motion. And uhm, sir, may I ask where youre going?

To follow them and capture them. Nobody gets away from me. Period. Warrick glared back.

I would advise against it, sir. Youre still heavily wounded from the earlier encounter by Frost. You shouldnt even be out here, sir. Your wounds havent properly healed yet, they just havent been given the time. I really recommend not going down there, the rate of infection and so high The assistant trailed off. He was weary about saying such things given Warricks temperament, but felt it necessary to say it. And uh, Id advise that you dont smoke either, sir.

Huh. Warrick spat in disgust, as he tried lighting his next cigarette. Care about yourself, okay? Ive got a job to do and Im not going to let you decide what I do. I dont waste time in the hospital when I could be dealing with these freaks. Warrick suddenly totally stopped, his eyes widened in surprise and shock. Something felt wrong.

Er, in fact, I think I will go back to G.U.N Headquarters and report the situation Warrick said, discarding the cigarette. Make sure you get all of these criminals back to the prison station.

Yes sir! and with that the assistant sped off.

Warrick glared. Although he wouldnt be doing it now, he would get his revenge upon Wraith and Lexx if he wasnt already dead. And whilst they might have gotten a somewhat decent escape attempt, already GUN guards were down in there, looking for them. Him although he didnt like to admit it, he needed to go back to headquarters. Something was off. He jumped onto his motorcycle and sped off past the rest of the vehicles in the way towards the destination of GUN HQ.

We dont have time for this! Azieral said, crouching down low and leaning in towards the ferret that was charging at her. The ferret didnt anticipate such a move, as Azieral came in low, and using all of her hands and the leverage with it, grabbed him by the waist and threw the ferret over her, where he hit his head onto the ground. Hard.

OOC: Meh, would have added more for Azieral's and Plugg's scenes, but I was feeling uninspired and hella annoyed. >>

OOC: WAA!! this moved through a lot faster than i expected. damn warrick ordering those copters back :"> o well ^^. this an interesting turn of events as well, just one question though. Pachamac, how many units are left at the scene? i know theres one helicopter but im not sure on the rest and its pretty crucial for my next post. also something that might help you out later. those guys that Sword knocked out arent actually injured apart from the first one who just has his hand cut open a little ^^;; might help you out a little coz it means they can get back into action basically as soon as they wake up ;) (which probably wont be for a while but still :) . anywayz ill IC later.

OOC: Well, to be honest I don't know how many ground troops there are on the bridge itself. If you have any ideas or need a specific number or whatever for your next post you can decide on it yourself. As you know, there's one helicopter still circling in the sky around the bridge, one searching for the cloaked figure (Mike's character) and some units within the sewer area searching for Wraith, but the actual number of those ground units I don't really know. It's up to you however many there are.

Sword stood by watching the scene of events unfold. Some damn officer had made his way back to the cars and spotted a good deal of Sword handiwork. Unfortunately he was too far away to deal with whilst remaining unnoticed. Also one of apparently high rank had noticed the helicopters movement and had overridden his fictitious order. Luckily those surrounded had made use of the distraction and succeeded in, so far, in making a break for it. Only a few ground units remained, those rounding up the raid group; and the few who had not been given orders and remained behind to search for this unknown. One helicopter also remained, once again posing the biggest problem.

Sword furrowed brow a little, his mind sifting through possible courses of action. Obviously the helicopters must be taken care of however there were only two ways in which they could be disposed of. Each involved the use of a large solid object, the shattering of rotors, and the subsequent deaths of those inside. The final step was the clincher. Neither was a suitable option. A distraction would be a necessity.

He ran through a list of possible resources. Squad cars; many still running but all with slashed tires; sniper rifles, with bullets, they could prove useful. Armoured Hum Vees; the weight of the vehicle would obviously require a powerful engine; diesel. Perfect.

He dashed around toward the drivers seat of the closest Hum Vee. The vehicle was not running, but perhaps it could be hotwired. He thrust he fist into the cavity behind the dashboard and drew out a fist full of multicoloured wires. That wasnt an option, the ignition? He stuck one of his blades into the body of the ignition and cut through it with a quick wrist movement revealing three wires behind the lock. A simple circuit. Sword removed the top wire and touched it gently to the one furthest from it. The engine immediately roared into life, the sound luckily blanketed by the rotors of the overhead chopper. He then tied it to the middle wire maintaining the power connection required for the engine.

Sword then sprinted over to the two unconscious snipers, keeping a close eye on the watchful guards and ensuring he was out of sight of the helicopter. He lifted each rifle from the ground and removed their clips.

Big bullets. Good. More gunpowder. One of these rifles will be useful as well.

Moving over to the Hum Vee whose fuel tank he had punctured, Sword dragged the third sniper to a safe distance from the vehicle and slashed open the fuel tank of the car next to it. The petrol spread rapidly, merging with the pond of diesel that had collected beneath the Hum Vee and forming a small river as the downdraft of the chopper pushed the fuel forward. He glanced up at it. The copter had completed its circle over the impounded vehicles and was moving quickly toward the squad cars. Not much time left.

He sliced the back off each of the clips, cutting through the bullets casing, releasing the gunpowder behind each. Tipping it onto the ground he made a short trail that stemmed from the petrol/diesel mix. A make-shift fuse. He placed the barrel of a rifle to the ground and made a slashing motion across it sending a few, bright yellow sparks flying from the tip and igniting the gunpowder. It flared. Sword ran, now in plain view of the helicopter, but that no longer mattered. The small orange flame ran rapidly down the black powder. It approached the spreading puddle ahead of it, the heat lighting the petrol fumes sending a blue shockwave over its surface. An orange flame followed it, spreading across the petrol and igniting the diesel sending up a cloud of thick black smoke that spread with the downdraft, enveloping it surrounding. Sword wrapped his scarf around his face as the deadly gases washed over his position, masking him from the eagles eyes. The tanks ruptured releasing a small fireball as the rest of the fuel was released.

Sword rolled to a stop next to a patrol car, checked the tires to ensure they were still intact. The engine was still running. Perfect.

He opened the drivers door, kicked the vehicle into gear, positioned the steering wheel so it avoided the crash site and the remaining ground units, then jammed the sniper rifle onto the accelerator. The car screamed out of the smoke haze and sped off down the highway.

Hopefully that will distract them for the time being. The other G.U.N. members should be fine, I moved them far enough from the blast area, he told himself, making his way to the Hum Vee he had hotwired. Now lets see if this will go according to plan.

OOC: man this was fun to write, i got to blow stuff up ^^. i was kinda peeved at the events that had happened earlier when i first read it. i had no clue how i could continue the situation with Sword, but now im glad it did happen. not only did it make the whole situation much more interesting with everyone escaping an stuff but it introduce some plot twists that i had to try work around ^^. i guess this is what role playing is all about huh? you never know what the other people are going to write. sorry im still learning what role playing is all about, im getting to like it more and more :D

btw, thanks pach ^^

(OOC: lol yeah that's the beuty and the curse of RPing. Plot twists that even some of the writers don't expect, but sometimes great ideas turn out to be unworkable.

It's great to have you along though Seleth :thumbsup )

Wraith grabbed Lexx and dragged him down the long tunnel, in complete darkness save for small shafts of light filtering down through the grids above. The air was damp and musty, and a foul smell of stagnant water prevailed.

"Boss...leave me..."

Wraith spun round, looking at his comrade with a grim, determined stare. "Not a chance." he replied.

"You have...no choice...you can't...get me anywhere...in time." Lexx coughed, sending a small ammount of blood spattering against the tunnel wall. He had multiple wounds in his stomach, and some in his shoulder and arms. It was bad.

Wraith narrowed his eyes. "Do I look like I care? Now shut up and save your strength."

The echidna bent down to pick Lexx up, but the gorilla mustered his strength and pushed him away hard. "No!" he panted. "Don't you see boss...? I did it...for you...so...you could get away!"

Wraith was scowling. "No one becomes a martyr in the Neo-Freedom Fighters before me!" he barked angrily.

"Darn it Wraith...you can't...save everyone!!!"

"Just what were you thinking when you threw yourself into the line of fire like that???"

"I was...looking out for you!" roared Lexx, leaning up on his elbow despite the pain. "It's what...friends do!"

Wraith had no reply...he just stared silently as Lexx lay back down, coughing again. There was a pause, then Lexx started again. "You remember how we met boss?"

Wraith nodded, his eyes drifting to the floor. "Yeah, I remember. You were champion at the national rock climbing olympics. You were back to defend your title."

Lexx let out a laboured chuckle. "And you convinced the judges...to let us climb at the same time."

Wraith grinned slightly. "We both made it to the final."

"And I...got into trouble...my rope slipped. I was about to...plunge to my death. If you hadn't turned round and...secured the rope..."

Gritting his teeth against the pain, Lexx hoisted himself up on his elbow again. "I knew then...you were a good person...when you told me about your gang...I vowed to help you...no matter what." He reached out and grabbed Wraith's gloved hand in his large palm. "Now we're even." he growled. "You saved my life...I saved yours."

A distant rumble became audible, echoing down the tunnels, and muffled shouts came from somewhere not too far away.

"Get out of here Wraith." growled Lexx through gritted teeth. "Leave!"

Wraith stared at him for a moment, speechless. He couldn't do it! He couldn't leave! This wasn't how things were supposed to turn out! GUN was supposd to be an ally, not an enemy!

Their gazes met, and something passed between them, a mutual respect and friendship that neither had felt before. Honor, courage, bravery, trust...

Slowly, Wraith stood up, turned, and set off down the tunnel, without looking back...

He ascended the stairs within the building quickly, taking two at a time. He couldnt afford to dawdle and waste time, especially if one of the three people in the other building adjacent to him was Arista. He believed that in some small way, her disappearance was his fault through mentioning that Sachio and Morgraines hideout was somewhere close, although even he wasnt sure where exactly. There were plenty of rumours abound but no concrete information. Trey suspected that, those who werent a part of their gang, and if they did know where the hideout was, then they probably didnt live for much longer afterwards. He sighed. They didnt have much time!

It took a small amount of time, but eventually Trey reached the 7th floor of the building. He quickly stepped into the darkened room, crouching low behind various desks as he shuffled closer to the edge that was filled with glass windows, so as to see the three people in the next building, but without them seeing him. Luckily enough, the other building had a large room surrounded by glass windows, so it would be easy to see anybody within it. Trey just had to make sure they didnt see him.

Well, David? Am I close? Do I need to move to the left or right? Trey asked.

A little distance to the left, sir. Came the crackled response.

Right, okay. Trey muttered back, and then began crouching more to his left.

In a short space of time, Trey had managed to come to a good distance of cover and finally see the people on the building opposite him, separated by a small gap that helped create the alleyway Trey was in earlier. He frowned, trying to make out the shapes in the next building, thats room was also shrouded in darkness, and found great difficulty in doing so. Who are they? Trey asked himself, and then his eyes suddenly widened in fright.

Two of them were males, he could identify that much. One looked to be a Toad, the other a Weasel. They were standing up, over the third being. They were each holding glimmering, shining artefacts. At first Trey couldnt tell what they were, but soon realised they were knives. And the figure they were over looked silhouetted to be a female feline. What type was difficult to make out, but he was sure it was a feline.

Darn it, it might not be Arista but whatever these guys are doing or planning to do has to be stopped! Trey thought to himself.

With little hesitation, Trey began to race forwards, towards the building. The people on the other building didnt notice him until it was too late, concentrating on their prize before them. Trey had ran to the edge of the room, and jumped forwards shattering the glass of the building he was in and then falling into the glass on the other building, shattering that as well and landing before the three surprised figures in a crouched and shadowed form, surprising them and making the toad and weasel jump back in surprise, the feline unable to move.

What the heck?! Whos he?! The toad shouted.

I I dont know! The weasel replied. You think hes a friend of the girls?

Whether he is or not, he interrupted us and Im not going to forgive him for it! The toad said, raising his knife in front of him in a threatening manner to try and intimidate Trey. And ouch! Damn! The guy cut me with all that glass!

Looks like well just have to cut him back. The weasel sneered.

Trey didnt respond and didnt move for a short while. Instead, his eyes were fixated on the female feline, a leopard, and how injured she appeared to be. Her clothes were tattered, and she was covered in bruises and blood. Her face was filled with tears. This was the kind of fear, pain and hurt that the new world was filled with. The type of things Trey swore to fight against.

Graah! Trey growled, shooting forwards with a speed that surprised the pair of them, as Trey moved with such speed that the two couldnt react before it hit them. Trey had landed just in front of the toad in a crouched state, and just as the toad was lowering his head to look at Trey, he was blown backwards, right into the wall and through it, by a powerful kick. The weasel was completely shocked and stunned by this, however had a second to regain his senses and try to move, to attack, but a second wasnt long enough. Trey spun around on the spot, moving the same leg that had hit the toad and delivering a round house kick to the weasel, blowing him backwards as well in a desk and shattered computer. This building seemed to also once belong to a company and office. Its people like you that make me sick to my stomach, Trey said, as he got up, walked to the weasel, and picked him up with his one hand, and bringing him close to Treys face. Scum.

Sir, the other assailant is charging at you from behind, a sudden voice ringed out towards him, but it didnt surprise Trey. It was familiar. It was Davids.

Trey kneed the weasel in the stomach, winding him, and then turning around on the spot and throwing him at the toad, making both of them crash into yet another desk and sending more ancient decrepit paperwork flying. Trey was grateful for Davids assistance Trey wouldnt of noticed the toad before it was too late. He was absorbed in his anger with the weasel and wouldnt of been able to see the toad through the poor lighting anyway, and it his help that had effectively defeated the pair of them.

But what to do with them now? He couldnt carry them. Not only would it slow down his search to find Arista, but with only one arm it was an impossibility. This area of city was particularly deserted (and hence why it was a good spot to bring the female leopard to) because of the danger of the buildings, and so any chance of G.U.N coming round here was doubtful. He could tie them, but then again, he couldnt spare the time hed have to leave them be.

He turned, back around, to the female leopard, who was now in sitting position, her knees close to her body as she shook. She was no doubt traumatised by the whole event, and was probably scared by Trey, too. Who knows what he might do?

Listen, we need to get out of here, okay? I know youre not in the best of positions, but Im a friend. I came here to help you, understand? Trey spoke.

The leopard looked up to him, doubtful, but mainly weary.

My name is Trey. Whats yours?

OOC: My gosh, the posts lately have been utterly.... brilliant!

First off, Brent, for a newcomer you are certainly getting the hang of this quick, that scene was so well written and by the sounds of it, it was as fun to read as it was for you to write! Some awesome scenes taking place there, well done!

Pachamac, the posts with Trey and gang, as well as the posts with the wonderful character of Captain Warrick, have all been so much fun to read, the way your characters deal with situations is amusing and precise. The interaction between your main characters and the NPC's has been well thought out and has made all of your scenes great contributors to the whole RP. I'm looking forward to reading more! btw, you mentioned in your last Azieral post that you were un=inspired, which is fair enough as i dont think i left much of an interesting continuation point for you, but you also mentioned that you were 'Hella annoyed'. Was that because i had done a pretty shotty job of leaving you somewhere to write from there? was there something else bothering you? just curious is all. If there is a problem with any of my posts, please don't hesitate to mention it.

And Wraith. Wraith dear boy, the dialogue for your characters has been nothing short of brilliant. Having such deep interaction between characters like Wraith and Lexx is a real strong point in all of your posts. Keppy uppy!

Reading this RP has been like watching a movie, in that it has made for a brilliant storyline with many wll thought out characters that all seem to tie in with eachover so well considering how scattered everyone is in the cityscape! Imagining the scenes that have been written has left me with some very colourful images with some deep subject matter. Need i say more?

On to posting i go.

Down-Town district, by the ol' soda machine

"They have to be killed, both of them, and their minions." Arista took a deep breath, fixing Lucent with a brave yet pained stare. "I'll stop at nothing to make sure that happens." she finished, her voice barely a whisper.

Lucent kept his narrow eyes fixed on Arista, and at the same time pondered her words.

In a way, Arista reminded him of... Myst. Both of the girls had a past that involved a terrible tragedy... the loss of loved ones at the hands of brutal street gangs...

But why did that concern Lucent? He WAS a brutal gang leader himself, he has been the end of many people...

Why was he even comparing Myst and Arista? Myst was saved by Lucent because he had use for her in his gang... yes... that was purely the reason. It had nothing to do with sympathy over a tragic past! There was obviously no connection to Arista in the slightest! yet... he felt somethin annoyingly playing on his mind as he remembered Arista's words... again and again...

Lucent gritted his teeth, shut his eys and shook his head a bit in frustration. He growled, "hurr... Women!" he muttered.

Arista had held in her tears and continued to stand before Lucent, tall and strong. "So what's it gonna be?" she asked, staying brave.

Lucent brought his gaze back to her and sighed, "So... you thirst for vengeance do you?.... hmmm... i can... accept that." He made a small smile as he said that. He knew she wasn't lying about her background story, he'd spent enough time around Myst to know when a female is showing genuine emotion in their speech. It was almost pathetic.

"Alright then..." he started, "I'll allow you the oppurtunity to exact your revenge if it means i am able to get mine."

Lucent stepped closer to Arista, the she-fox didn't move.

"There are a few things you are to know before you are accepted." His appearance was quite menacing, once again though, Arista kept herself strong, something that both intrigued and slightly agitated Lucent at the same time.

"It'll be a pleasure to see their gang fall to ruin, so i will gladly aid you in that... But that one with the dark hair... the brother of the two, 'Sachio'... he's mine. got it? There is a favor that i must return to him. I don't care if you want revenge on the both of them, Sachio is my primary target and he WILL die by MY hands and MINE ALONE! Last but not least, whatever may unfold in the massacre i ave planned, if you dare get in my way, or try to stab me in the back, i swear i will bring to you a death as unpleasant as those of the fools that i will see crushed under my foot!"

Upon finishing those words, Lucent backed up a bit and kept his gaze fixed on Arista.

"Any objections? Speak! You are wasting enough of my time as it is!"

St. Kindlesbury's Hospital, interior

The ferret lay slumped on the ground, beaten senseless.

The squirrel took one glance at his fallen comrade and turned and ran in fear.

Plugg shouted after the squirrel, "Yeah! You better run!", a triumphant smile breaking out across the Gecko's face.

Azieral shook her head, "Shhh! This is bad... we've already drawn too much attention. That guy is going to call for re-enforcements. Then we'll be in way too much trouble." She sheathed her Sai, "We must hasten ourselves, we're running out of time!"

Plugg nodded and turned to the left, "This way!"

The two travelled as fast as they could while keeping stealthy. They fleeted past rows of wards, similar in structure to the Nocturne base, but in comparison much filthier. Lucent always did ensure that the base was tended to maintenance wise, and Myst always stressed cleanliness onto the gang for the sake of avoiding the spread of any kind of infection. This place... was just downright filthy.

Plugg lead the way up a staircase and finally pointed to a room on the right upon reaching the top. "That's the supply room!" he said with a hint of glee, "I know a better way outta here than where we jus' came from, so let's get some stuff and i'll show us out!"

"agreed" said Azieral, actually surprised at Plugg's primitive mention of tactics.

"oh, and you go first. i'll uhh.. i'll cover you." said Plugg, pointing to the doors of the supply room.

Azieral almost laughed, ah, so the cowardice and annoying qualities from before had returned.

Azieral opened one of the double doors and walked inside. The room was dark. Plugg stepped in and flicked a switch by the door before withdrawing again.

The room lit up and there was on top of numerous shelves, whole packets of rolls of bandage, packets of bandage clips, bottles of rubbing alcohol, various small bottles of brightly coloured pills, either a doctor's dream or a junkie's paradise. Or in this case, a street-gang's treasure.

Azieral stepped in and began removing things from the shelves, Lucent had specifically asked for some rolls of bandage, and rubbing alcohol.

She turned her head to the doorway as she took things, "Are you going to help?" she asked.

"yeah, sure." said Plugg as he reluctantly stepped inside and too began taking things.

Azieral observed Plugg's choice of items, "Anaesthetic?" she asked, "Lucent didn't mention that. He there would be another raid where more would be taken."

Plugg looked over at her, "Hey, if you ever had a bullet taken out of your arm when it was in reeeeaaaalll deep, and you had to take all the pain... then you'd be takin' some of this stuff too."

Azieral just shrugged and went back to collecting objects. She placed a few packets that contained rolls of bandages on top of eachover, and used one open roll of bandage to tie them together and form a bundle, easier to carry. She did the same with the bottles, using a bit of web to help bind them, and then carried them in one hand whilst carrying the bandages with three of her arms. this meant she had 2 free hands to fight. enough to wield her Sai.

Plugg only had one good arm, so he just took a box labelled 'anaesthetic' which carried syringes. Not on Lucent's list, but Azieral was already carrying a decent amount.

"okay..." said Azieral heaving her load, "where to now?"

Plugg walked out of the room and motioned toward a red door.

Azieral wasn't impressed when they reached the door and read what was written on it in white bold lettering.

'FIRE-ESCAPE'

"The bottom of the fire escape's really busted up, you have to jump off at the bottom after climging down from here, you can't climb up it from down there" explained the Gecko.

Plugg opened the door, Azieral walked out and managed to fit through. She began making her way down the fire escape and signalled for Plugg to follow.

As Plugg took his first step through the fire-escape door, numerous gang members came running up the the interior stairs and were soon on the same level.

The squirrel from before was first to shout, "That's one of 'em! SHOOT SHOOT!"

A few clumsy gunshots started as Plugg made a panicked shift. As he stepped out onto the fire-escape, a bullet came and just barely hit his shoulder, not embedding itself but slashing by the side of it.

Plugg recoiled from this and fell over the edge of the fire escape. He managed to catch onto a metal bar on the banister and looked down to see the box of anaesthetic plummeting after he dropped it.

Ironic how he was now in so much pain, and he just had to watch a pain reliever fall to the ground, out of his reach.

"AZ!" he screamed as he felt the pain soar through the one good arm that he was holding himself up with. "HELP!"

The gang members inside the building, still advanced also.

OOC: No, no, it wasnt any of your posts or anyone elses posts, James, but some earlier stuff that happened to me. I shouldnt have left it affected my post. And I must have been feeling uninspired through being tired. Again, I shouldnt have posted something like that, but seeing how you managed to carry it on is fantastic. Things have in tensed quite a bit. Thanks for the compliments, and I agree with what you said about everyone else, too.

IC:
Azieral looked up after hearing Pluggs desperate cry, as well as the various gunshots that had erupted. She was already almost down the fire escape, but could still see Plugg precariously hanging on and the other gang members making their way towards the fire escape, to meet up with Plugg and to get into a vantage point of being able to hit Azieral as well. She frowned deeply as she hesitated, taking time to deliberate what to do.

Plugg was, essentially, pretty worthless. Even Lucent thought so, and this recent mission just went to show her how much of a bother he actually was. She had to carry most of the required supplies, while Plugg decided to carry hardly anything. Although she wasnt bothered by the weight of the supplies, she was pretty annoyed he didnt bother to try harder, and even then he had dropped what he was carrying.

And was now in such a state as this.

Azieral thought back to what Lucent had at first said to her, before she left on this mission, and specifically Plugg.

He's wounded, but that doesn't mean you have to be particularly careful with him. Just ensure he's in good enough shape to deliver our supplies. If he must die, then it is a compromisable loss.

Did that mean that in this situation its acceptable to just let the idiot die? He wasnt even carrying many supplies anyway, and at that it wasnt exactly what Lucent demanded anyway.

After all, I still want you to conceal your cover with our gang. If anyone can recognise Plugg, then it is blown, so if possible, avoid being sighted, and split up as often as you need to.

Did this just go and help reinforce the need to leave him behind? She was after all not meant to reveal herself, but she wondered if the gang knew her already, through her earlier fight with the squirrel and ferret, one of which managed to get away, only to return with the reinforcements along him. But if she just left Plugg here, they would be able to identify him easily enough as it is. She sighed again. This was against her better judgement, but

Azieral dropped the sacks of webbing and bandages which held the supplies and dropped them to the ground, mentally blessing the fact that none of the contents spilled anyway. She put away both of her Sais for now. She wouldnt need to use them for what she had planned, after all, she wasnt exactly going to go up against a whole group of people single handed.

She jumped upwards, and a strand of webbing shot out from her middle right arm, snagging and securing a section of the underside of the fire escape above the level that Plugg had come onto, and pulled herself up it suddenly, flinging herself back up, somersaulting over Plugg, who followed her movements with a unusually quiet and surprised manner.

Azieral landed onto the fire escape in a crouch, leaving only the impression of a black, distorted figure; the gang members coming towards her wouldnt be able to properly identify what it was. She then raised all of her hands upwards, and at once, a thick stream of webbing shot outwards, and then she began to manoeuvre them, quickly weaving a web that covered the fire escape door, and thus hindering their sight of her. This didnt stop them from raising what firearms they had and shooting towards the door, cutting through the webbing with small, concise shots , but not destroying it entirely, and still giving her the opportunity to mask her escape, if she could do this quickly.

Plugg, she spoke quietly as she jumped over the side next to where Plugg was hanging off from. Youre more trouble then what youre worth.

Plugg was about to speak up, but remained silent after hearing Azieral talk more and more, as she fell down towards the ground. Be quiet. Do not mention our names at all, understand? He slowly nodded, and by this time Azieral had landed on the ground. Just jump.

W-what?! Plugg shouted back. Ar-are you kidding?!

No, just do it, Ill catch you! Just hurry it up! Azieral shouted back, becoming annoyed.

O-okay he-here I come Plugg let go off the hanging and fell down towards the ground. He didnt trust Azieral, no, but he saw little other possibility. In truth though, he wasnt caught by the ground, or Azieral herself but by a large webbing which cushioned his fall. It still hurt a bit, but it would be enough.

Cmon, Azieral began talking again, unsheathing her Sai and cutting Plugg free from the webbing as well as cutting it up further to make it more difficult to discern as a web (although, truth be told it wasnt a great clean up job in that regards, as there was little time to do so effectively. Azieral then shot a web towards the underside of the second to last flooring of the fire escape and pulled herself up it quickly, landing on the last level of it, and where she had dumped the supplies in the webbing and bandage bags, picking them up with her four arms and again using the two spares to hold her sai. She then jumped down to the ground, next to Plugg once again, as suddenly a loud crash from above could be heard and then the firing of guns aimed at them. Lets go!

Y-you dont have to tell me twice! Plugg said, following after her (but remembering to pick up the anaesthetics with him as well) and then they both disappeared into the shadows of an alleyway, away from the hospital and the gang behind them.

After they had gotten a good enough distance from the hospital, the two slowed down completely and came to a gradual stop in what looked like a fairly deserted street. The two remained in the alleyway though, and the shadows it cast upon them.

Huff, huff you okay? Get shot anywhere? asked Azieral, dumping the supplies on the ground before her.

Plugg leaned back against a wall, holding onto his other shoulder with his good hand, the same shoulder where he had been hit. He paused to consider first, before lying. No, of course not. Nothing can hit Plugg the invincible!

huh. Sure. Azieral replied, before feeling the side of her waist. She could see the torn clothing and blood seeping through. It looked like she had been shot too just before their final getaway, but alike Plugg, it was only a slight slash. Nothing imbedded. Well then, should we move on, back towards base? Azieral asked.

Meanwhile, a short distance away, a pair of figures moved onwards through the shadows of yet another alleyway, a pair with a sense of purpose. They were suddenly jolted and surprised as they heard another transmission, this one aimed at them.

Master Asher, Miss Angela. My sensors indicate two figures near your proximity, standing within another alleyway.

Ari what are you doing??? You can't do this...please...!

She nearly burst into tears there and then. She could see Wraith standing there behind Lucent, staring at her incredulouly!

We saved you Ari...how could you betray the Neo-Freedom Fighters like this???

She took a deep breath and fought down the pain. If she was to start crying now Lucent would probably kill her for waitsing his time.

"I understand." she replied evenly.

The bat nodded and turned away. "Now let's get out of here." As he passed the other gang members he muttered quietly so Arista couldn't hear: "Watch her."

Slowly Arista stepped forward, following the gang as they set off down the road. In her minds eye she could still see Wraith stood there on the pavement, staring after her silently. Her heart wrenched. What was she doing???

Wraith...I know you can never forgive me...I can't forgivemyself...but please believe me when I say...I'm sorry...

Max listened to the noises of chaos coming over the radio. "Trey, you need any help man?"

Maybe the cheeta hadn't heard him with all the commotion. At any rate there wasn't a reply. The noise soon calmed down though, and Max was about to repeat the question, when David's voice spoke up: Master Asher, Miss Angela. My sensors indicate two figures near your proximity, standing within another alleyway.

Dang I knew it was a bad idea to split!he thought as he listened carefully for the sibling's response...

Asher and Angela stopped walking and instantly, out of habit, backed themselves up against a wall. While his sister was busy scanning the area, Asher replied through his communicator.

"Good going David...now, which direction do we take?" The tabby fox spoke quietly yet clearly, waiting for the robot's response.

Angel gave her brother a nod, before turning back to look out at the mouth of the alleyway they were currently exploring.

OOC:

I know i'm probably going to sound stupid asking this, but with all the appearances of NPC's, i don't know who exactly those two figures are that David has detected. Are those Plugg and Azieral? just making sure so i don't goof anything!

Oh, and a minor detail Wraith, but 'Dirge' is the muscle-bound grizzly bear in Lucent's gang, 'Tabby' is the one with the handgun. No big deal, just want to avoid confusion in future is all.

-------------------------
IC:

Down-Town district, exiting by the ol' soda machine

Lucent looked over his shoulder to make sure the new girl... Arista, was following.

Arista's words were still playing on Lucent's mind, as much as it annoyed him. He just couldn't shake off the images that appeared in his head:

-He saw that annoying hedgehog, Sachio, standing triumphantly over a dead body with blood on his knuckles, and a sharp-toothed grin.

-Lucent saw someone choking on their own blood.

-Lucent saw Arista running away from the looming figures of Sachio and Morgaine, covered in bruises.

Lucent shook his head again, growling out aloud.

Dirge looked over at his leader, "You got a headache boss?"

"no. i don't get headaches. shut up." muttered Lucent in reply. The blue bat didn't have a headache, nor has he ever had the displeasure of experiencing one, but his head did in fact feel clouded. Could that have been sympathy that he just experienced back there? is that why he could see all those things? No. that's absurd. To even consider such a thing as an explanation is a thought worthy only of a fool. Sympathy was for the weak. And there was no room for weakness in Lucent's plans.

Lucent looked over at Arista as they walked, "Fox-girl... Arista."

Arista seemed to have something plaguing her own mind as well, for a moment Lucent could have sworn she was talking to someone behind him. The girl snapped out of her deep thought momentarily to look at Lucent as he addressed her.

"Tell me, just what is you plan to do after you drench your hands in vengeance's blood?" inquired Lucent, "It might just be me, but i have a sneaking suspicion it won't be in my favor."

It wouldn't matter if Arista spread the word of Lucent's existence after the raid, because by that time the element of surprise wouldn't be necessary, what with Sachio and Morgaine dead. But simply letting someone go after having done buisiness with the Nocturnes was something Lucent had never done before, nor ever intended to do at all in future. The girl had chosen her words carefully when talking to him of course, she had said all that she needed to, but she never mentioned joining the Nocturnes at all. It was obvious she had no intention of working with them. but what Lucent wanted to know, was why.

"There just might be a position for you amongst my Nocturnes" remarked Lucent, more after a reaction than an actual reply.

(OOC: Ah ok sorry Eclipse. I'll keep that in mind.)

She sighed slightly, looking at the floor. "I don't know." she replied truthfully. "A while ago I had something to fight for, but Sacchio and Morgane have stolen that from me."

Lucent nodded slightly as he listened. Obviously she was meaning her parents. Some people got so caught up with feelings...it was stupid.

Arista thought again about what she ment...her fight for justice with Wraith and the gang. Now she had betrayed them...turned completely against everything they stood for. They could never forgive her, and she didn't expect them to.

So what was there after the mission was complete, after she had her revenge? Turn around and arrest Lucent? Not only would that be completely meaningless, considering hat she was doing now, it would also be a death sentance.

But she couldn't join him. She couldn't bring herself to blank of her concience completely. What the "Nocturnes", as Lucent called them, were doing was wrong, and she couldn't be a part of it.

"Once this is done..." she echoed, then paused, thinking. "I'll have to see." she finished lamely. "I just don't know what I'll want by then. I have no idea."

Actually maybe she did have an idea. After what she was doing, suicide would probably be an appealing option...

OOC: Well, I did intend for it to possibly be Azieral and Plugg, but in all honesty I made it a bit ambiguous in case somebody didnt want it. Its up to anyone else if they want to meet.

IC:

An alleyway of a relatively quiet, empty street

20 feet to your left, sirs. Northeast. The voice replied from the communicator. The twins again nodded to each other, as Angel scanned that area around there, looking towards the alley opening, but were unable to see anything.

Trey, I said you need any help, man? came another voice from the communicators, not intended towards them. A second later, another reply came forth.

No, no, Im okay, Max. Just I had to get involved, unfortunately. Angela, Asher, please be careful, and if at all possible dont get into contact. I was unfortunate to do so and am not a great example. Trey added.

Right. On it. Was Ashers reply to them, before turning it off momentarily. They couldnt afford one of their allies voices to suddenly alert whoever was down that alley to them. So how do we do this, sis? Should one of us stay here while the other goes to check it out, in case anything bad happens?

The sewers

Delta squad, weve located one of the targets, over.

Roger that Alpha leader. What is the status of the target, over.

Difficult to judge. Well need to get him out of it and take a proper check, over.

Roger that. We shall keep searching for the other target. Over and out.

The group of five men, geared in extensive armour continued to aim their weapons, and more specifically the lights upon them at the still body before them. The figure was large and quite hulking, normally an intimidating creature, but here, now, it was frozen, almost as if it was locked in pain.

It was Lexx. And to the G.U.N guards, whether he was dead or alive regardless, he was a criminal.

OOC: Actually, if James doesn't want it to be Plugg and Azerial, is it alright if I have the two as yet un-named figures in the alley? It'd make a good way of working in an idea I had a while back. It won't be with Ed, but with two related characters.

But if James (or anyone else, for that matter) wants it for any purpose in particular, I'll happily let them take it and find another way to slot myself back into the action.

OOC: I've no problem at any rate. Like I said, the figures could be anyone at all that people want. I think it could be quite handy then for you Nuch as an opening to slot your chars back in, then.

(OOC: Yeah, Nuch. Go ahead. :) )

Angel looked thoughtfully at the wall across from her and Asher, before nodding. She gripped the communicator in one hand and her weapon in the other. "Yeah, Ash. I'll go in, you stay here."

Reluctantly her brother nodded, not at all appearing comfortable with the decision his sister had made. "Okay, well...call if you need backup."

With another nod, Angel moved to the mouth of the alley they were in. Quietly she slipped out and around the corner, making sure to stay out of sight just to be on the safe side. The tabby vixen moved silently in the direction David had indicated, all the while counting her steps. As she neared the opening to the next alley, Angel pressed herself against the building wall, wondering whether she should chance a look...

The slopping sound was getting irritating.

His wet shoes were getting irritating for that matter.

He was tired, he was weak, he was in pain. The only think that kept the maroon echidna moving was an image in his mind, an image of a young vixen with blue eyes and long blonde hair watching him, egging him on.

He had disgarded his tattered trenchcoat some way back. The only thing he had salvaged from the pockets was a small mobile phone, one corner of which had been torn off, revealing circitry and wires within. It was still working, somehow, and now as he limped down the dark tunnel, he was fiddling with it weakly.

His leg didn't hurt anymore...it had gone numb a long time ago. Probably a bad sign, but at the moment he was too weak to care. He had lost a lot of blood, and felt dizzy.

Numbly he accessed the phone's memory and dialled a number. He held the phone up to his ear, listening to the ringing on the other end.

Then the voice answered. "Wraith! Good to hear from you! How did it go with the raid gang?"

Wraith's voice was quiet, slurred. "Max...I...I need help."

The bulldog's voice on the other end sounded worried. "Darn Wraith, you don't sound good! What's going on???"

"GUN..." replied Wraith quietly. "They...followed the chase...there was a...missunderstanding." He gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, bringing a hand up to his forehead. "Lexx...is dead...everyone else arrested..."

"Oh no..." There was a pause, as though Max was contemplating what he had just heard. "Wraith, where are you? I'll get someone to pick you up right away!"

Wraith shook his head. "W...wait...Arista...did you find her?"

"No, not yet, but we're working on it. I'll keep you posted, but Wraith, please, tell me where you are!"

"I don't know." replied the echidna. "I'm in...the sewers. Need to go topside...to find out."

"You do that! I'll get someone out there rig...

Silence.

Wraith took the phone away from his ear and looked at it. It was off. The battery must have been damaged!

For a moment his mind flew into a rage. This day was just flipping fantastic!!!

The phone cracked and crumbled in his grip.

But as fast as it had come, the emotion dissapeared and he was left with the same numb, empty, cold feeling he felt before.

Opening his hand, he let the crushed remnants of the phone fall to the slimy, damp ground below, then, numbly, he set off down the dark tunnel again.

At the moment he didn't really know where he was headed...for now it was just away...away from the nightmare that had happened in that first sewer tunnel.

It wasn't ment to turn out like this...

A group of five men came to a sudden stop within the dark and damp sewer, at the attention of the commander of the five, who silently raised his hand up in a manner of telling the others to become still.

sir? one of the others reluctantly said.

Shush. Just listen. Can you hear that? the commander said.

The five remained silent, as they all tried to pick up the sound, and it then became distinctive. Footsteps, running through the sludge and grime at a hurried pace.

Could it be Beta or Delta team? one of the armoured guards asked out.

Negative. This movement is coming from one person and one person only. You can hear the pattern and beat distinctively. And theyre moving up ahead! The commander shouted.

The guards all turned and hoisted their weapons upwards, to try and see the target they were furiously chasing after. The lights on their weapons managed to just in time find the person who it was; their Echidna target all along.

Wraith suddenly froze, turning towards the five guards who, at a distance, had their weapons raised. The area at the moment was like a T shape. The five guards were at the bottom, whereas Wraith had been moving from one side forwards, and probably wouldnt had took the corner anyway, but was now looking down there thanks to the lights of the guards.

N-no! I just want to talk! Wraith furiously shouted.

No can do! Raise your hands into the air and surrender! This is your last chance! The commander shouted, his face masked off from the dull and emotionless metal covering it. All that could be seen from it were two piercing red lights, but even then it was difficult to see over the glare of the gun mounted flashlights.

Nno! Wraith shouted, before turning and running forwards in the direction he was going in before he stopped. Behind him was a shower of bullets from the guards weapon, but they were unable to hit its target as Wraith disappeared from their sight.

After him! Now! The commander said, and the five men of Unit Epsilon now chased after their running prey.

To Wraith, everything was becoming hazy and a blur, difficult to truly understand. It was a mistake, all a mistake. They were fighting on the same side, werent they? So then why

Suddenly, his vision completely shifted and his thoughts were dispersed, as the ground gave way from underneath him and he fell along side a sort of waterfall filled with grime and grunge. The small tunnel had now expanded into a large room, a sort of pumping room for the seweage, but he couldnt be sure. At the present moment, he was concerned with more important things, namely his life, as he hit the dark water below him and was submerged under water.

The five guards that were chasing him were at a complete stop, as per their commanders orders. The commander walked up to the ledge, and peered over, trying desperately to see their target, and mentally thank himself to spot the Echidna target resurface, and try swimming to the concrete bank next to the sludge. Although his parameters were now to shoot and finally kill, he disliked taking lives. He much preferred to just capture the enemy, and was relieved to see Wraith alive.

Commander, what should we do? one of the guards asked.

The commander slowly unbuckled the locks which held the armoured mask to his face, and took it off, holding it in one hand whilst shouldering his weapon. The face was distinctive to the G.U.N, it was of quite a legendary and revered figure. An older, Cheetah, who seemed to have weary eyes to himself.

If Wraith had looked back or was even possible at seeing the face of the G.U.N search team Epsilons commander, he was be shocked by the resemblance of its to Treys

OOC: Right, since there's no major opposition, I think I will exploit this opportunity. I originally wanted to do this with just the one character, but since there are two figures I'll also use this as a chance to play with the fourth member of the Nuchtos team, who I couldn't use in FoF.

IC:
The two women made their way carefully through the deserted alleyway, each one constantly vigilant, both for their quarry and for any potential threats - these were dangerous times, after all. However, they were oblivious to the fact that their presence was already known.

They were a curious pair: one tall, proud and clad from head to toe in futuristic armour; the other dressed in rags and looking like death warmed up.

"Why are we doing this again?" the shorter of the two projected her query into the mind of the taller.

"Because, Ciel, if the AI in this android is as fancy as Ed makes it out to be," whispered the taller back to her companion, "Then the rest of its component technology may be similarly advanced. We're going to steal it, take it back to HQ and have Roux take a look at it. Maybe she can reverse engineer it and we can make our own to further our aims - minus the AI, of course, since machines don't need free will."

"Won't Ed disapprove, though? After all, the people who own the robot want the same thing we do," Ciel expressed her doubts telepathically, her voice sounding weak and pathetic inside her partner's head, much as it did aloud.

"Bah!" exclaimed the other woman, then remembering herself, she spoke more softly, "Ed is a fool. He has no reason to suspect these so-called Neo-Freedom Fighters" - she name was said with a sneer - "are honourable or trustworty. No doubt their good intentions are a front intended to curry favour with other gangs so they can stab them in the back later. It's oldest trick in the book. This thing they have could just as soon be used against us as to help us. Besides, I haven't actually told him what we're doing."

"Oh," breathed Ciel, then the pair fell silent for a time.

A few minutes passed before Ciel suddenly froze as the pair neared the end of the alley.

"Joy! Get down!" she mentally warned her armoured friend. "There's someone nearby; I can feel it."

Joy ducked down behind some dustbins, picking up a small, fist-sized chunk of broken paving as she did so. She then tossed it against a wall so that it ricocheted around the corner. There came a quiet cry of pain as it collided with someone lurking against a wall near the entrace to the alley.

Joy got up and crept along the wall of the same building against which their eavesdropper was pressed, Ciel following close behind. When the former got to the end, she leapt around the corner, aiming an arm cannon at the third person - a curiously feline vixen matching one the descriptions Ed had given of the people he met last night. Ciel chose to remain out of sight.

"Awful dangerous for a pretty young thing like to skulking about these parts all alone, even if you are armed," spat Joy derisively, unaware of her target's twin's proximity, "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

OOC: Yes, the android that Joy wants to steal is David. Anyway, profile time.

Name: Joy
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Species: Human Cyborg
Weapon: Laser arm cannon (similar to those wielded by some GUN robots, but with charge beam capabilities); minigun; rocket launcher.
Abilities: Joy, due to extensive cybernetic implants, is immensely strong and heavily armoured. She also has a jet pack that is no good for prolonged flight, but is capable of providing brief boosts.
Quirks: The arm cannon's charge beam is broken, the minigun has no ammo and she only has one rocket for the rocket launcher, which she is incredibly hesitant to use. As such, most of her weapons are mainly for intimidation purposes. Also, her mechanical parts, particularly her armour, weigh her down greatly, thus rendering her very slow and inagile.
Personality: Joy is incredibly stubborn and self-righteous. She has a strict and virtually unshakeable morality and believes she is almost invariably right and justified in everything that she does. She sees herself as practically a crusader for good and arbiter of justice and believes herself obligated to use her powers to defend the weak (which, to her, is most people) and punish the wicked. She is, however, quick to anger and slow to trust.
Background: Joy was a test-tube baby, bred and raised in a laboratory for use in a secret GUN research project aimed at creating a genetically-engineered, cybernetic super-soldier. Her stubborn nature, however, proved difficult for the scientists in charge of the operation to break and brainwash, and as she learnt of the real world from various sources, she grew to despise GUN and their methods. Eventually, just before the fall of the ARK, she turned against her creators and destroyed the laboratory where she grew up, fleeing into the outside world to live as a vigilante.

A couple of years later, she met up with Edward while in pursuit of a crazed scientist hoping to use the chaos that had resulted from the cataclysm to achieve global domination. Though they were initially rivals, Joy eventually recognised Ed as almost an equal and the two teamed up to form the beginnings of what would later become the Nuchtos team, a small organisation dedicated to restoring order to the world. Although Joy decided Ed should be the leader (seeing herself as more the muscle and the morals of the operation than the brains), he was not terribly enthused about the project, being more motivated by the idea of being able to lead a peaceful life than by any particular sense of philanthropy.
Motif if this RP: See Bio.
Link to picture of character: Here. However, the left arm cannon has been replaced with half of a rocket launcher, the other half being attached to her shoulder. Both arm weapons can be retracted onto her back when not in use. Also, the things on the side of her helmet aren't there.

Name: Ciel
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Weapon: None
Abilities: Telekinesis, limited telepathy (she can project her thoughts into other people's minds, but she can't read minds), limited ESP.
Personality: Already slighly mentally unstable due to the burden of her psychic abilities, Ciel now suffers from depression due to her current condition (see Quirks and Background). As a result, she is timid, submissive and almost constantly melancholy. She also displays slight sadistic tendencies at times. Finally, she looks up to Roux (the fourth member of the Nuchtos team, may or may not feature in this RP) as a sister.
Quirks: Her body is dead, with only her brain still living. She is in fact a very powerful psychic, but most of her powers are used keeping her brain alive and animating her body. She requires a regular supply of blood to nourish her brain and is incapable of feeling pain.
Background: Ciel was taken from her parents at a very young age and raised in a genetics laboratory, where she was experimented on, the ultimate result of said experiments being her psychic powers. Growing up in the laboratory, she formed a very close, almost sororal relationship with another of the test subjects: a cat by the name of Roux. However, Roux escaped the labs at age eleven and ran away to an orphanage, leaving Ciel without a single friend among the scientists and their experiments.

One year after the fall of the ARK, Roux - now aged sixteen - returned to the laboratory to free her "sister" and the two looked out for each other in the harsh world that had been created since the disaster. Eventually, the duo were hired by the same lunatic whom Ed and Joy had defeated previously to exact revenge on those two, but they were later convinced to turn against their employer. In the struggle that followed, Ciel was shot in the heart, but - thanks to her incredible psychic prowess - was able to maintain her mind even after her body had died, essentially becoming undead.
Motif if this RP: To aid the Nuchtos team, although mainly only because Roux is a part of it.
Appearance: She is short and skeletally thin, with messy black hair, grey eyes and much of her bone structure visible under her skin, particularly the skull, phalanges and rib cage. Her skin is the colour of a relatively fresh corpse (she would be more rotten than this, but is able to rejuvenate herself somewhat due to her powers). Her clothes are plain and ragged. Finally, she has a hole through the middle of her chest.

I hope this is okay with everyone. If anyone feels my characters are too powerful or anything, just let me know and I'll see if I can't weaken them a tad.

Max shook his phone, but to no avail. The line had been cut off. He swore under his breath and lifted the radio to his mouth.

"Listen up all, there's trouble. I just got a call from Wraith, his mission didn't go well and he's in a bad way. I'm gonna have to get back to base and start up some kind of rescue plan."

Rescue plan, yeah... he thought to himself. ...not like we even know where he is!

"I hate to leave this mission in your hands, but you're all very capable. Can I rely on you guys to handle this?"

"You can rely on me, sir." came David's calm voice immeadeately.

"Good. How about the rest of you?"

============================================================

There was a current in the water, a strong one! Wraith floundered towards the concrete bank as hard as he could, but in his weakened state he found himself moving further and further away!

He looked over his shoulder at the dark hole where the water was going. Goodness knew where that came out! His leg was stinging again, the cold water actually bringing some life back into it, rather than the other way around!

He was geting nearer and nearer to the yawning opening. Gritting his teeth, he struck out sideways with his fist, jabbing at the slime-covered stone wall. There was a CHINK sound as his knuckledusters impacted, and fortunately held their grip.

Securely anchored, Wraith leaned his head back, trying to think. His mind was beginning to spin, and he felt slightly detached from reality.

He opened his eyes, seeing figures crowding the hole in the roof that he had fallen through. He could see red beams of light flicking across the water as they aimed their guns. He saw the large figure at the front, apparently the leader, remove his mask, but the shadow was too deep to make out any features.

He glared at them angrily. "So this is the great GUN I've heard so much about," he spat, "the one that keeps the peace and fights for freedom and democracy! Since when was "shoot first, ask questions later" the policy of freedom fighters???"

There was no answer for a moment...the troops seemed to be observing him.

"Well you'll be glad to know that your doing a fantastic job!" he continued bitterly. "Thanks to your heroics several innocent people are in custody, and another one is dead! That's a fine track record!"

His anger had returned...he was sick of these sewers, he was sick of this freezing water, he was sick of the pain in his leg and some of his gang being arrested, and he was seriously madly sick of one of his best friends being killed...he was fuming, absolutely fuming.

"What now, huh?" he roared at the watching figures. "What now??? You going to finish your fantastic day by taking me out as well??? I said I wanted to freaking TALK, for grief's sake, then you metal heads go off on a killing spree!!! I thought we were on the same side, but you're worse than all the other gangs put together!!!"

Angel slowly stood up, all the while keeping her eyes on Joy and her hands on her weapon. The tabby vixen cursed mentally, for she somewhat regretted turning the communicator off. It wouldn't have taken her long had she contacted her brother and said she needed backup. Of course, not knowing just who she was up against, she considered herself alright....for the moment.

Blinking, Angela straightened to her full height, a habbit she had when she wanted to be taken seriously. "My name is Angela, and I don't intend to fight you or your...friend."

A pause as she looked Ciel over, but then she continued. "I'm merely scouting around for a lost friend of mine...say, have you per chance encountered a pretty vixen...orange fur, blue eyes maybe?"

The young Tabby saw no harm in asking a simple question such as that, for she'd be explaining her presence here as well as looking for Arista. Though Angel was doubtful the pair of strangers had seen the vixen she was describing.

As she listened to this Angela character speak, Joy repeatedly rotated the barrels of the chaingun part of her arm-cannon menacingly for a fraction of a second, leaving a couple of seconds each time for the barrels to return to their rest state. Granted, even if Joy did let the weapon's rotation build up speed, no harm would befall her target, since the gun was not loaded - but Angela had no way of knowing this. Meanwhile, Ciel could feel she was being examined and ducked timidly around the corner again.

The vixen's vague description of her friend was similar to one of those provided by Ed the previous night, but it could have been a coincidence. "No, I haven't seen your friend, sorry," began Joy after a pause. She also lowered her weapon as the girl before her seemed peaceful and, besides, there was only one of her. "Although I'm also looking for someone; perhaps you've seen them around? He's an android; got translucent white skin; bright, blue eyes. Should be fairly recognisable."

OOC: BTW, for reference purposes, Joy is 6'6" and Ciel is 5'2". I normally specify this in the profile, but I forgot to this time for some reason.

Angel was about to reply, but caught herself. It wouldn't do if she gave these two too much information, even if it concerned David. A normal person would have seen no harm in asking, but she, on the other hand, had a feeling that she should keep quiet about it. A thoughtful look crossed her face, and she thanked the lord that her mother had been willing to send her to drama camp.

"Well, huh...an android, you say? I've seen some pretty strange things since the Fall, but I don't believe I've seen an android matching that description." Angel shrugged as she finished, hoping her act looked convincing.

~*~*~*~

Asher listened intently when Max radioed in on the rest of the group, and the tabby fox heard the strain in his voice. There was also a hint of concern hidden there, but Asher couldn't be sure. After a moment's thought, he pressed the 'Talk' button on the left side of his communicator.

"Yeah Max...you can count on Angel and I. We'll look for Arista; don't you worry. If you find Wraith, tell him we're looking."

"You haven't? How inconvenient," commented Joy, suspicious. She called out to Ciel, who re-emerged from behind the corner. Joy instructed Angela to stay where she was, then whispered to Ciel: "Can you tell if she's lying?"

"No," Ciel thought at Joy, "You know I can't read minds. I'm weakly empathic at best."

"Oh yes, that's right," Joy remembered, then continued to talk in hushed tones. "Well, if she is lying, and she does know David, and we let her go, then she might alert him."

"Should we kill her?" Ciel enquired telepathically, a faint hopefulness underlying her melancholic voice.

"No. She might have allies eavesdropping on us and that would make us seem a threat, which we don't want. However, she knows our intentions, so we can't let her go completely free. Our best bet is for you to keep an eye on her - so to speak - while I carry on our search. If she tries anything fishy, let me know. You can communicate silently, after all."

"Okay."

Joy turned to face Angela once more. "I just had a talk with Ciel her and she offered to help you look for your friend, if you want," Joy spoke aloud this time, "She's blind, but she can sort of feel when people are nearby. Oh, and she's mute, but she can speak into your mind, in a way. It's a little odd at first, but you get used to it eventually."

The cyborg started to walk off to continue her search, not bothering to wait for Angela to accept the offer. Thinking of something, Joy stopped suddenly and turned around. "One last thing: sorry for holding you at gun point like that, but you know how it is these days." This was a lie, of course, but Joy felt it more beneficial to her aims to remain as much on the vixen's good side as possible. Having finished speaking, she set off once more, leaving Ciel with their new acquaintence.

"Well?" Ciel's simple query echoed meekly into Angela's thoughts.

Go for it, Max. Trey spoke into his communicator, as his gaze stayed upon the feline figure before him, his eyes looking into hers, unmoving. He was calculating, gauging what to do. At any rate, were all undermanned. But if hes in serious trouble, help him out.

Trey continued to look into the eyes of the leopard, before speaking to her again.

Cmon, weve got to get out of here before those guys wake up again, yknow? Cmon, do you have a name? Anywhere that you can go to for safety? Trey asked the girl.

The leopard said nothing, instead continually looking at Trey. Was it shock? He wasnt sure, but at either rate they just had to get out of here. He extended his one good arm, expecting it to be received and held, so that he could lead her out of the building. Instead, the girl violently reacted. She jumped forward, clawing Treys hand and trying to bite. Trey pulled back in shock, and swung his arm backwards, which was still clutched onto by the leopard, who flew over Trey, and into the flooring behind him, where she sprawled over and finally let go of him.

Ouch! Trey shouted, wincing. What was that for?!

The girl looked at him, and then turned, dashing off and running towards the exit, where she then vanished from sight. Trey just stared at where he had last saw the leopard, his mind ablaze with numerous thoughts and questions.

Master Trey, are you okay, sir? David asked.

Im fine. Just a bit wierded out. Im going to continue my search for Arista. Trey replied, taking a breather and one last look at the area around him, the destruction of the fight and the two peoples he had fought earlier bodies.

The Sewers

The commander stared down towards Wraiths body, silent, in pause. The rest of the team simply stood around, waiting for the order. Wraiths speech had stunned the group slightly but more so, Epsilons commander.

commander? one of the guards asked, getting hesitant.

You may leave. Ill finish this up. The cheetah commander replied.

Sir, are you sure thats wise? What if the target gets away and

Are you doubting my ability to shoot the target?! Follow my direct command and fulfil it! The targets as good as dead, I just want to talk to him before I finish him off. The commander roared. The guards all looked towards him, their expressions unreadable through their armoured masks, but their body postures revealed understanding. They turned, and began to head away from the commander towards the exit.

Wraith simply waited, wondering to see where this would lead. Could this commander be able to hit him from such a distance? It was possible. He hesitated, waiting to see what would invariably come next.

understand this, Echidna. You yourself are a villain, no matter what you think you may stand for. Youre taking the law into your own hands, and if by that notion you are fighting for justice, then you are a vigilante. As such, you do not have the authority to decide on such a course of action or to take the matter of justice into your own hands. It is you who brought this onto yourself and your friend. It is yours and your friends fault that one of them had to die and the others be arrested. Law and Order come down to those that have the proper authority. G.U.N. Understand that. The commander began to speak.

Its people like you who get in the way of G.U.Ns and make our work tougher. Not only do we have to fight and deal with the trash of gangs and criminals who have direct deliberate intentions to create destruction and mayhem, but we also have to put up with foolish people like you. If you really want to help the world, then people like you should just do nothing and stay out of the way. People like you cant create a revolution, so end these foolish dreams of yours and wake up into the real world NOW. The man finished speaking.

What now then?! You going to kill me?! Wraith shouted.

The commander frowned, and then pressed the trigger of his weapon, and with it a volley of bullets strung forth from it and lit up the dark underground, the bullets creating sparks and hitting the walls. Wraith tightly shut his eyes as he expected the pain to come but found no hurt. No bullets had hit him, as the sounds of the firing guns came to a slow stop. Was the mans aim not very good at all, then? Wraith slowly opened one eye, and looked upwards. He saw the commanders weapon, the red beam of light coming from it, pointing to something else. A wall. A wall which had a message carved into it. By the bullets!

[U hv a 2 chnce. Frm nw on u r ded. Dnt wste it.]

The message crudely wrote. Wraiths eyes opened wide in surprise, as the beam of light moved away from the wall and vanished, as the G.U.N commander disappeared from the tunnel, walking back towards the remainder of the Epsilon team. To their knowledge, and more importantly the sound recorder files upon a G.U.N guards helmet, Wraith the Echidna was now officially dead.

Vigillante??? Villan??? HA! He liked that one!

So all those years he had spent with his brother and Sonic and all the rest...all that time spent fighting Robotnik...in reality he was just being a terrorist? Many regarded the name "Wraith the Echidna" as heroic, along with "Knuckles" or "Sonic" or all the rest. What about Sonic himself??? Was he a vigilante too???

The GUN soldiers had obviously not recognised him, not that that was suprising. No one ever thought of heroes anymore. With the dissapearence of Sonic and everyone else people barely even remembered them, and it rarely occured to anyone Wraith met to make the connection.

Maybe, if GUN's files were complete, someone would make the connection back at their base.

The soldier finished speaking, and Wraith was planning to give him a piece of his mind, but first he had to ask: What now then?! You going to kill me?!

The soldier's reaction was unnexpected! He raised his gun without another word...

And now this message in the wall...!

Wraith had been so stunned, he had forgotten everything he had intended to say! By the time the thoughts came back, the figure up on top of the hole had gone.

He thought for a moment. This was a suprise! Just what did the soldier have in mind?

Had he recognised him after all?

He couldn't shake the feeling that there was something familliar about him...something he couldn't quite place. He hadn't seen his face in the darkness, but there was something he recognised...maybe in the voice...

Anyhow, right now he had to get out of there and seek medical attention! He was badly wounded, and goodness knew what the polluted water would be doing to the bullet hole! Gritting his teeth, he reach forward with his free hand, embedding his knuckledusters in the wall further up the tunnel. Firmly secured, he removed his other hand and reattached it further up again, slowly pulling himself forward against the current.

Suddenly a small piece of stone chipped off below his knuckles, and before he could do anything, he found himself yanked backwards by the current, backwards into the darkness of the tunnel.

He barely had time to take a breath before his head went under...

Hello!

Sorry, have been caught up in the new term.

I did print some of this the other day and have read up to thread 12. Bare in mind there are 20 posts per thread varying in lengths. Wait, is it threads or pages?

Anyway, the other day was a good read so I'm sure the last three won't be so bad.

What's everyone been stuck on? Is there hectic moving needed to be done by me? I apologise if that has been the case.

Hope to post soon!

OOC: Hi Ben! Good to see ya. ^^

I don't think the holdup is neccessarily your fault but maybe us being busy as well or uninspired. >> But I shall try and edit a post in soon.

Something to keep note of, is that the situation with Frost, Shadow and Cream is about a day behind everyone else now, so I don't know whether you might want to tie up events there quickly to get those characters to catch up to where everyone is at now?

And yes, pages, not threads. :) Thread would be the whole RP itself.

The situation around the raid site began to intensify. The G.U.N guards that remained posted around the area continued to frantically search for the mysterious intruder that had knocked unconscious a number of their guards and ruined the tires of many of their vehicles. As safety measures were going, the vans that were holding both the members of Wraiths gang, and the raid gang, were being prepared to depart the site and the intruder and be brought right to G.U.N Headquarters. G.U.N couldnt afford to waste time keeping these dangerous gang members especially with this mysterious intruder, whose aims were unclear. What exactly did whoever it was want? It was more then likely connected to the gangs. Did he/she intend to free them? If that was the case then they would be needed to evacuate them out of the site as soon as possible.

The remaining G.U.N guards shuffled through the gaps within the vehicles of the G.U.N vehicles and Wraiths gangs lost cars. They were performing their military techniques perfectly, but despite it all, they could still not uncover this mysterious invader.

The G.U.N guard who had been charged in this operation frowned. They had to find whoever was doing this now.

Trey walked through the desolate street, sticking to the shadows and alleyways as he continued along the necessary mission: Find Arista. So far, he had been unsuccessful and he was unsure of the other teams success, but he doubted they had made much progress so far. Asher and Angela were now investigating a group of two individuals, but even then Trey didnt trust one of them to be Arista. They couldnt be that lucky so soon.

And to make matters worse, Wraiths group was in trouble, trouble enough to warrant Max leaving the mission to help Wraith, which made them seriously undermanned. Throw in a wild and unstable person such as DeLougre with a heck of a lot of explosives next to David, their main source of locating people, and already their situation was desperate. The sage that they had met moments before was an enigma Trey really didnt know enough of him to make a clear decision. He didnt know if the Sage had just decided to leave, or was helping to look, or was with Trey and DeLougre, but in all ways it wasnt truly helpful. Even if the sage was looking for Arista, he didnt even know what Arista looked like, so it wasnt very helpful. He sighed. It seemed hopeless.

Trey stopped, and sat down on the upheaved road, his shoulders sagging as he looked at the ground before him. He picked up the communicator and activated it, speaking into it and to the others that still had the communicators on.

Any luck so far? Trey asked.

Master Asher and Miss Angela are investigating a signal near them, sir. Came a crackled response. The mannerisms instantly told him it was David.

My sis went to check it out down this alleyway, Im in for support if necessary, another voice replied back to them. It was a male voice, and the fact that he said sis made it pretty clear it was Asher. Shes got her comm off at the moment, incase, yknow, our speaking messes up her stealth.

Understandable. David, are there any targets near to wh- Trey was beginning to speak, but was cut off.

Hey, cat cat, need any of my help with the big big explosions? came an unwelcomed voice. It was pretty dang obvious who it was.

Uh, no thanks. This is a stealth mission, we dont want to draw attention to ourselves, especially with explosions. Trey replied. He could a loud sigh and moan from the other side. Trey raised an eyebrow, and then resumed his duties back to the mission. David?

Unfortunately, sir, there are a significant number of targets near you, in the next street ahead of you. It would be quicker and most advisable to take one of the alleyways through it, but I have my doubts. There is a huge number of targets there, and the danger ratio is- David began to speak.

Cant be helped. Arista might be among them a prisoner perhaps. I have to make sure no matter what. Dont worry, Ill be careful. Trey smirked slightly, but within himself felt doubt. There was only one of him, if it boiled down to confrontation he would be in very serious trouble.

But he took no more time standing still and considering what would be the optimum course of action. The choices were very limited and small, and he had little choice. He had to find Arista, especially if she was in a group that big, and especially before she did anything foolish

(OOC: Good to have you here Ben....very good. ^^)

Angela stood rooted to the spot even after Joy had left. She felt slightly alarmed that Ciel would be following her, and that the strange girl could only talk telepathically. Even though the tabby vixen had so far fooled them into thinking she had no idea where David was, her act was as good as spoiled. It occured to her that Ciel and Joy might not know that that android had a name...David, and that they might not know what he sounds like. Those factors alone, made Angel feel slightly more relieved, but even then she didn't want to take any chances....it seemed she was a little stuck.

"Well?" Ciel's simple query echoed meekly into Angela's thoughts.

"Uhm...right. Gimme a sec." And with that, she took out her communicator, switching it on and turning the volume down. "Hey, Ash...you there bro?"

There was a crackle as her brother answered, "Yeah! I'm right her sis. What's goin' on?"

"We uh, we kinda have another volunteer..." Angel glanced to Ciel before turning her attention back to the comm device.

"Oh?"

"Yeah...her name is Ciel and she's partially blind and she's mute......but she can communicate telepathically, sort of. I think Dave should sit this one out." She hoped Asher would understand the underlying meaning in her words; she thought David should be more careful, and it was because of this Ciel character.

There were a few moments of silence, in which Angel deduced the rest of the team were mulling over her statement. Finally, someone answered.

"Yes...maybe Dave should lay down for the moment. This Ciel can help...one more hand isn't bad, and that means Dave can just be quiet for about ten minutes....rest." With a sigh, Angel noted that it was Trey's voice, and that he meant for her to turn off her comm device for the duration of ten minutes.

She told her brother that she was coming to meet him, and then switched off her communicator. She wondered what Trey and Asher would have David do, or what they would say to each other...

"Well then, let's get started. We'll rendezvous with my brother and then continue our search," The tabby vixen said to Ciel, who looked at her strangely.

"Alright."

Western side of Station Square, en route to G.U.N Headquarters

The figure moved through the destroyed streets of what was a grand city with a noticeable quick speed, his body almost a blur as he advanced throughout the fallen giants, although the cause of his speed was not from his own body, but rather the vehicle he rode upon. A motorcycle.

The streets were fairly deserted as it proved too dangerous for many of the gangs to simply walk about in broad view in such a defenceless state, although there would be a few foolish enough to do so. Many of them instead stuck to the buildings, and if they did indeed move through the maze of buildings it would be through the alleyways. At this time, the man who moved forwards cared little about assuming cover. He believed he was moving at a safe enough speed that it wouldnt really matter too much and besides, he was a G.U.N commander, which automatically resulted in respect or fear from gang members who would be sensible enough not to confront him. Some of the more arrogant ones would no doubt do so, but the majority of the times, these people were disposed of easily enough.

But today, something felt off. Wrong. He assumed it must have been the wounds he got from Frost, but he wouldnt just sit and lie down in a hospital bed recovering. No, he was much stronger then that. Besides, the gangs wouldnt just sit down and wait for him to recuperate. No, the mere fact that his presence would be lost in the city if he was in a hospital bed would be enough to encourage the gangs further. It was simply something he couldnt allow.

He frowned. He wasnt much further from reaching G.U.N Headquarters again where he would issue his report, then something else. Flashing. Millions of lights suddenly erupted into his vision and blocked it all, surprising him, and before he could react well enough, his bike spun and fell, Warrick being thrown off and scraping against the floor until he came to stop, his motorcycle nearby in the centre of the street, collapsed.

He groaned as he tried to get up, frowning more and blinking, trying to get rid of the spots of light before him, feeling hazy. It must have been his injuries, and because of it he was faced with even more pain. God damn it.

Nugh blasted Frost. Hes a dead hog walking! Warrick shouted out to himself.

Oh? came a reply.

what?! Warricks thoughts shouted out at the unfamiliar sound, and the panic of a threat. He automatically and with all his strength lifted himself up into a weak standing posture, taking out and firmly holding his two pistols and aiming them in the direction where he believed the voice came from. He was wrong, however. The voice was behind him. Who are you?! Warrick shouted out.

Hmp. Joy.

OOC: Hope thats okay Nutch, and if you want your char to be there. If not, I can always edit it and make somebody else be there.

The Downtown District

Trey rushed out, through the streets and risking cover, as he ran across it and into an alleyway opposite of where he once was, moving closer to his targets. Although Angela had spoken up and now decided to call David Dave, to which he had gone along with, it wouldnt help if he simply stayed still and held a conversation, but rather do both. Multitasking was of course better.

Asher, keep a good eye on your sister. Something seems a bit wrong if she feels that way about David. Trey spoke.

Roger that, kitty cat dude. Be careful yself, okay? Asher replied.

Right. Trey responded.

What about me, sirs? Miss Angela seems noticeably worried about this Miss Ciel and myself. Should I break contact? David asked.

No, just dont speak, just in case. Make sure to keep hearing what were saying, though. But hopefully things will be okay on the leads weve got at the moment. Trey said.

But sir, I believe it is in your best interests as well that with the large group you are coming up to, that I remain in contact to alert you of any persons position, such as behind attacks etc. David spoke with concern.

I understand that, David, but I think its in your best interests if you keep low yourself. Dont worry, I can do this okay enough. I havent survived this long by myself through pure luck. Trey spoke, trying to fill David with bigger confidence.

Iunderstand. Over and out sirs.

Trey passed a large dumpster on the way through the alleyway near an old soda machine in the downtown district, continuing towards where the large group was moving, but as he passed through it he failed to notice the bodies within it. Two Dobermans, both of who were once a pair of Sachio and Morgraines men

David had simply been following the instructions he had been given; as he wondered down the street he kept up his active scans, informing the others of any life forms he detected in the area.

DeLougere had been examining him closely for some time, even poking him once or twice in curiosity, but he hadn't said much. David didn't mind the attention...it wasn't his place to deny it anyway, and he simply assumed the rabbit didn't want to talk.

Now, though, he listened carefully to the conversation, a look of confusion on his plymer features. "I appologise Miss Angela, I do not understand. Were you refering to me?" he asked curiously. Fortunately Angela had already turned of her radio...

============================================================

(OOC: I've had an idea, but if for any reason it doesn't work or gets in the way, let me know and I'll remove it ;) )

Crunch Crunch Crunch Crunch Crunch Crunch CLANG! One of the manhole covers in the quiet street suddenly blasted into the air, as though a volcano had erupted underneath it! It landed with a clatter some way away.

Underneath, the white cloved fist that had knocked the cover flying, complete with spiked knuckledusters, slowly uncurled and grabbed hold of the edge of the hole. The movements were slow, erratic, almost as though the owner was drunk.

Slowly, weakly, Wraith dragged himself up onto the street.

He was in a terrible state. His fur was dripping with dark, muck stained water, and his fur was matted with mud and grime. His usually gleaming armour was caked in dirt, dripping with muddy water.

He hauled himself out of the hole and sprawled on the tarmac of the road, his energy spent. He had barely had enough strength to climb the shaft and punch the manhole cover out of the way, and now, he was done.

His head was doing cartwheels, and he felt sick to his stomach. The wound on his knee was caked in blood and dirt. He felt cold, freezing! He had a headache.

His sences swam and he looked around through a thick fog, growing thicker every moment. He thought he heard voices...

"...can't escape the fact that I am in charge here! Now I'm thankful for your rescuing me and all, but the fact remains..."

"Will you shut up! I heard a noise up ahead!"

"Huh, what??? Uh...okay...let's...lets take care and...um...check it out."

Two figures stepped out of one of the nearby alleyways, looking round causiously. One of them was some kind of lizard...he looked wounded, his arm was bandaged up in a sling. The other was a massive spider, her eight limbs casting a strainge silluhette in the light. She was carrying a lot of bags, but two of her hands held nasty looking blades.

Wraith started to reach out a hand towards them, weakly beaconing at them. As they saw his prone form, he tried to speak, his voice cracked and weak, barely more than a whisper...

"H...help...me...........please....."

The fog swallowed him up in it's blankets...

OOC: I'm guessing you was writing your post when I just submitted mine Wraith, but it still all seems good enough. :) Shall we say your post of David occurs before my post of Trey, David and Asher? It makes more sense that way, at any rate.

And no problems with Azieral, Plugg and Wraith with me, at any rate. :) I'll do a post for them later since I'm a bit tired now. But just so you know, Azieral really isn't that massive like you might think she is. She's about the same size as all the other average sized Anthros, Plugg Wraith etc. Unless of course the size thing is something to do with Wraith's blurry and unconcise vision, which could be okay. :)

EDIT: Again with the posting at the same time-ness of it all. XD Do you still have that part of the post C&P though? It would still work.

(OOC: lol yeah we posted at the same time. And as if that wasn't enough, I went back and edited out my part for David as you were writing your OOC post to rectify it >< Anywho it's back in now.

Quick note about David: I want to bring him back into the story more...he's kinda got sidelined with all the action Wraith and Ari are getting. I guess I was waiting for Mike to post something with DeLougere, but he didn't, and I got carried away with giving Max something to do...

Anyone know where Mike has got to perchance?

But yeah, hopefully Nutch's idea will give me a chance to bring him back in more sometime soon, unless Mike, you're reading this, and have an idea for DeLougere. I would have started something there myself, but I couldn't think of anything in keeping with David's character...being a robot, he's not very good at instigating small talk lol.

But yeah, I'll bring him back in when I get the chance^^

And about Azreial, I thought I remembered you saying earlier that she was unusually tall, but I have the memory span of a goldfish...sorry. Just put it down to Wraith's weakness, yeah ;) )

"Who are you?!" Warrick shouted out.

"...Hmp. Joy," the cyborg replied bluntly, "And don't wave those pitiful weapons at me, otherwise I might have to report you to GUN for threatening a fellow officer." With this, she popped open a flap on her arm cannon to reveal the GUN insignia painted on the inside.

Warrick inspected the newcomer carefully. "That doesn't look like any GUN uniform I've ever seen," he remarked skeptically, still keeping his weapons trained on their current target.

It seemed he had not quite fallen for her bluff. "That's because I'm a prototype," continued Joy, thinking quickly, "developed by one of GUN's research departments. I can't divulge any more than that, as it's classified. And don't question your superiors about me - they'll feign ignorance."

This much was mostly true: she had been built by GUN and her development had not been made known to many outside the particular department responsible, mainly due to its catastrophic failure. She had renounced her creators and destroyed their laboratory, an embarrasing incident that GUN had been quick to cover up. Hopefully Warrick would not be one of the few who did remember it, as - as much as she despised GUN and all of its personnel - she had no strong desire to dispose of his particular officer just yet, as to do so would bring undue attention to herself.

Joy could see that the man was still not fully satisfied with her explanation, but she was beginning to grow weary of his presence. "Anyway, I have urgent matters than need attending," she announced, "I don't suppose you've seen a white-skinned android in the immediate vicinity? My department needs him for ... research purposes."

Joy waited for Warrick to react.

Meanwhile, Ciel shuffled along after Angela with forced and unnatural movements, her body as limp as rag-doll. She moved in closer to the vixen, so as to gain more definite idea of her shape. Ciel's lifeless eyes stared unblinking at Angela as she looked her up and down. The human could not see out of these eyes like she had been able to in life, but moving her head in this way helped to focus her supernatural senses, by which she could discern the general form of a person or object: the closer she got to an entity and the more attention she paid, the clearer was the impression. As such, Ciel saw - or rather, perceived - the world as a bleak expanse of shapes and masses. The fact that such spatial awareness extended in all directions about her simultaneously, as opposed the one-hundred-eighty degree field of vision she had enjoyed in life, was little comfort. Such concepts as colour, smell, taste and touch were meaningless to her now; with time, she may even come to forget them entirely. Such a thought made her sick with regret.

Soon, the duo become a trio when they met up with Angela's brother. Ciel stopped and stood in perfect, eerie stillness - not even the rise and fall of her chest, since she had no need to breathe - and inspected this sibling as she had inspected the other. She cared little how they reacted. As far as she was concerned, she was an abomination and every living creature abhorred her. Everyone save one.

"Hi," she spoke into both Angela's and Asher's heads at once. Her greeting was weak and breif, arising more from simple courtesy than any wish for social interaction.

forgive me for not automatically trusting you or preferring to divulge any such information like that, Miss Joy. Im going to need some classification that you are who you say you are. Just giving your word for it and a G.U.N insignia is far from enough. I assume you understand the necessary reasons why these are dangerous times. Trust is something best left until youre sure people who they say they are. Warrick frowned, before gripping his head as a sudden pain shot there. He tried his best to not look affected by it, especially in front of Joy, but he had failed miserably. He shook it off, continuing before she could collect her thoughts on that.

I can understand the delicacy of G.U.Ns research Warrick frowned. He didnt like what G.U.N had been doing of late, the various endeavours it was embarking on. Robotic android creations, cyborgs, perhaps clones he didnt like it mainly because he didnt know what was going on. G.U.N had to understandably keep its secrets even from some of its members in case information fell into wrong hands, but it was something like Joy that she didnt particularly like. But it wasnt just Joy, it was the research G.U.N was making itself. Playing God. He preferred man himself to take care of its problems, not with the unpredictability of this research. But I still need more information.

Why are you alone? Surely there should be some men with you, to make sure youre doing your job. Warrick asked, looking away from her and trying to bring up a more cooler, intimidating look by lighting up a cigarette and smoking it. But, there was something wrong here. He had a pain in his chest, and let out a small cough. Whatever was going on with his body certainly wasnt good. And Id like reasons why youre searching for this android, plus a clearance code so I know youre on the right level. That shouldnt be hard, right?

Hi everyone, how are we all? Just dropping by to fill everyone in of my whereabouts. i've had writer's block recently. really, bad writer's block. i can't even write the script for a single scene of a friend of mine's animation, (I am just writing the dialogue, he needed help with that).

Funny thing is, while my writing skill seems to be at an all-time low, my creativity in drawing has been at an all time high, and i seem to be amazing myself with some rapid improvement in that area. every drawing is another step along my path of improvement. that's how i see it.

So yeah, i'm sorry everyone, i know there are a lot of you waiting on me to post SOMETHING at least, and i really am sorry. it's quite rare that i do get writer's block, and it is most unfortunate that it seems to be occuring at a time when this RP has become so active. I HAVE read every one of the posts for the RP thus far, just because i can't write doesn't mean i can't read, so i do know what is going on.

Wraith, Pachamac, i know i should post something with Plugg, seeing as he and Azieral have just encountered Wraith, i absoloutely love the idea.

Wraith, i also haven't forgotten about Arista, i need to post with Lucent as well, as it seems they are now being followed.

Well, it's late over here. 3:00AM late. it's a bad habit of mine to stay up real late working on a single drawing, 'just a few more minutes then i'll go to bed'. Hmm.. doesn't quite work. 😛

Plus i seem to be fussing too much over little details in my drawings, i spend way too much time than what i should.

Well, this seems to have turned more into a journal. my apologies for that, just needed to explain myself.

See you soon everyone.

OOC: Ah, yes, the joys of writers block! I dont encounter it very often but yes, when you do get it it sucks majorly. Sorry to hear that man, and I hope it clears up soon but if your art is having boon, then thats just as cool! Should be nice to see what your new drawings look like, James. :)

Azieral looked down, surprised and unknowing how to react at the fallen and newly unconscious figure before her, who had seemed to pass out right after his last words, those of "H...help...me...........please....."

Azieral frowned. She looked the body over from her unmoving position, gauging how much of a threat the being was and rather, just who the person was. His appearance was shabby and unsavoury. Whatever the hell he had been through, it was no doubt bad and it seemed to Azieral that from looking at his condition, he wouldnt be much of a threat. Good, that means their safety was in better order there.

Lets go, she said, preparing to simply walk past the fallen Wraith and back towards the Nocturnals base.

H-hey, wait! Youre just going to go without giving it a thought? Plugg asked, reaching out with his good hand.

Unlike you, Plugg, my brain patterns dont move at a snails pace. Ive already considered it and it makes the most sense to just leave now. Azieral replied, looking towards Plugg with a bit of disgust at how he seemed so stupid to her.

Yeah, but. Look at him, we Plugg began to speak.

No, it makes no sense for us to help him, does it? It would just be creating a bigger burden on ourselves and the less time we waste here the better. He could be a spy or an enemy, and either way regardless Lucent wont want him. Its best to just ignore him and move on. Azieral said, turning around and preparing to walk off.

No, its not! Plugg defiantly said. His shout stopped Azieral completely, whose eight eyes all opened wide in surprise, before narrowly closing as she loudly sighed. Sure, she could go off the deep end now, really give Plugg a peace of her mind, but it wouldnt do them any good shouting, and she really couldnt be bothered to get in a shouting fight with him. She had just had enough of Plugg, and wanted to move on.

Plugg, lets move before Azieral said, but this time she was cut off.

No, no. Cmere, take a closer look. Plugg said, waving her over with his good arm, even though she didnt bother, whilst Plugg also knelt down besides Wraiths unconscious body. I mean, look at him. He looks bad, really bad, right? Plugg said. Azieral nodded, not wanting to bother resisting him, because the irritating lizard would keep talking against her no matter what. Best to get it over and done with. I mean, if you didnt know better, which, well, Im guessing you dont, then you wouldnt know who he really is then, would you? Its hard to see who he is, but me, I know this guy. Hes a thorn in the side for a lot of us, both you and me, but Lucent specially. Hes the head of a group of a band of heroes. Pfft, as if heroes exist anymore.

Hes an enemy? Lets just go, then. Azieral said.

No, no, no. You just dont get it, Az. I would have thought you might have by now, but it looks like Im going to have to clue you in. This guys called Wraith, and hes the head of the Zeo Freezer Flighters? I dont know what its called. But anyway, to the point, Az Plugg began speaking, as he looked up at Azieral, looking her right in the eyes and surprising her yet again. think about how much this will help us, and especially Lucent, if we just kill the guy right now?

well I'll be. He does have more then a few brain cells, after all!

OOC:
Writers block situation: Contained.
Initiating RP post creation process...

------------------------
IC:

Downtown District

"Once this is done..." Arista echoed, then paused, thinking. "I'll have to see." she finished lamely. "I just don't know what I'll want by then. I have no idea."

Lucent felt quite smug knowing that the individual who had dared to backchat him just moments ago seemed to be going through a minor mental crisis. It was always a pleasure to see inferiors in some sort of strife, whether it be bleeding to death beneath his heal or even slight discomfort such as what Arista was experiencing right now.

Annoyingly, thoughts of comparison to Myst came into Lucents mind again as he glanced over at Arista. This blasted girl better be worth my time. He thought to himself, keeping up a brisk walking pace so as to get to his destination as quickly as he could.

Lucents desired destination however, wasnt Sachio and Morgaines headquarters. As headstrong as he was, Lucent did in fact realise that his current forces where no match for the combined forces of all of Sachio and Morgaines armed henchmen. Even if stealth operations were utilised, there would have to be a backup plan, one that involved a decent number of re-enforcements.

Lucent turned a corner off the track to Sachio and Morgaines base, and walked along the row of closed shops. The group was curious as to why their leader was going of course, even they could remember the directions given to them by the Dobermans, but they dared not speak up, whatever Lucent was doing, it had to be a correct course of action. Or at least, it would be, according to Lucent.

Arista however, did not fear Lucent as greatly as the members of Lucents gang, and instead sped up her walking pace to catch up to Lucent and ask a few questions. Tabby held out a hand after her and spoke softly, Yo foxy, I wouldnt go askin- but she had already caught up to Lucent.

Just where are we going? This isnt the way, and you know it. She asked directly to Lucent, who smiled maliciously in return.

Just need to make a quick call said Lucent as he approached a row of public telephones, which surprisingly, all seemed in working order. Aside from one particular phone to the far left that had its front panel torn off, to reveal the machinery underneath, and some visible alterations made by various street gangs so that the phone could be used without needing to deposit a coin.

Lucent frowned as he reluctantly picked up the fixed phone. He hated machines, it was obvious. Lucent hated everything about machines, from the complexity involved in so many of them, to the fact that those without magic often rely on machines to simply live out day-to-day life, and to a greater extent, to fight. Lucent saw all those that relied on machines in any way as being weak, and even un-intelligent despite how bright those with a knack for machines can be, simply because Lucent knew that intellect was an important factor in learning magic. Even the fact that a member of his own gang, Tabby, held a technological device such as a gun made him upset. Out of all pieces of technology, there is but one device that Lucent does not despise. The humble cigarette lighter.

Lucent dialled a few numbers on the phone swiftly, he remembered the number off by heart, despite having not needed to use it for over a month. Some things he remembered too well.

The phone took a moment to start dialling, a result of all the punishment it had taken. Arista curiously leaned to look at the phone that Lucent now had held up to his ear, Just whats going on? she asked.

Lucent raised his index finger to her, motioning for some quiet. Tabby leaned over to Arista and whispered in her ear, Now I know what hes doin, hes callin over some re-enforcements.

---------------------------

St. Kindlesburys hospital, Inner reception desk

A heavily wired phone on a stool began ringing and shaking violently, rattling its platform. Myst had learned to be able to recognise the sound from anywhere within the Nocturne base, and instantly raced down a flight of stairs to reach it.

She reached out and snatched the phone, almost knocking the whole unit to the floor, as she neared the reception desk. Lucent? was her first greeting.

Are Plugg and Azieral back yet? asked Lucent, his voice coming in with some static.

Myst sighed and sat down on a beaten-up desk chair, Hello to you too Lucent. No, they arent back yet. Some of the guys told me about their mission, and I think Plugg might be the reason why theyre so late. Ive talked to Azieral, and she seems a little too intelligent to have anything slow her dow-

Lucent cut her off, I need all of the gang apart from Tysons guard group, and you down here at 4th street, Downtown district. Now.

Worry came over Myst, Just what are you planning Lucent?

A growl could be heard from Lucents end, Sachio must pay. Im going to make sure he does. If we can wipe out all of Sachio and Morgaines gang, then that will make conquering the rest of the gangs a lot easier. Killing two birds with one stone, the perfect oppurtinit-

this time, Myst cut him off, Lucent, when are you going to learn there are more important things in life than ideas of conquest

Lucent remained silent on the other line.

-------------------------------

Lucent didnt move as he listened to Myst, her voice coming in with static.

Whos to say it will ever end Lucent? All you can do is keep going, keep striving toward this one goal with no consideration for anything else until There was a moment of silence with some short gasps for breath on Mysts side, until it kills you. Damn it Lucent even if even if you do get what you want is that really want you want at all? Youve never thought about anything else, its sad.

Lucents expression was set into its usual expression, but it was like he seemed emotionless as he listened to what sounded like crying on the phone.

Myst. He uttered.

Myst sniffed and dried her tears, You saved me. I know you wont admit it, but you saved me. You could actually do that I just dont understand why you cant do anything like that again why you are the way you are You could do so much

Lucent breathed out heavily and closed his eyes for a moment before he replied, Send out my orders. I want them here as soon as possible.

---------------------

Myst just hung up. More tears rolled down her cheeks as she felt a combination of emotions. She was sad and angry and stressed all at once. Her life was a mess, here she was, a formerly innocent doctor in training working with a notorious street gang, purely because she felt she owed the one who saved her life the one she loved. He had so much potential to do something different with himself, Myst wanted to help him do that, she wanted him to recognise what they shared, she wanted him to give up all this evil and put street gangs behind she wanted him to change, so badly. She just knew it was possible for Lucent to do all this, he had proved that the moment he saved her life. He had the power to change, all he needed to do was stop being stubborn.

Myst went to each of the assigned groups within the gangs and informed them of Lucents orders, as much as she wanted Lucent to stop, she knew he wouldnt give up, and she didnt want him to die, so thus she supplied the re-enforcements, simply obeying orders as always.

As the gangs shuffled and prepared to move out, Myst went back to her medical room and cried as she looked out the window. She was silent as tears slid down her face in their usual fashion. She uttered only a few words as she looked out at the forsaken city.

please Lucent please

------------------------------

Lucent just stood there, the phone up to his ear, listening to nothing but a dial tone for a moment as Mysts words sunk in.

Eventually, he put the phone back on the hook and slowly turned to his gang, taking a moment to snap out a slight stupor to regain his usual facial expression, as he didnt realise he had just had his eyes sympathetically half-shut.

boss? inquired Dirge.

Lucent glared at the grizzly bear, then broke out into a malicious fang-toothed grin, The rest of the gang apart from the base guard are on their way here. Sachio and Morgaines demise, as well as the rise of the Nocturnes, is at hand..

Lucent slurred that last bit of speech as one of his ears pricked up.

Arista got an intuition observing Lucents actions, obviously he had heard something, but it seemed more like he heard someone. Were they being followed?

--------------------------

OOC:

Not bad for breaking the writers block I suppose, but nothing too mind-bogglingly fantastic. Sorry all, twas the best I could do!

Lets see, I have some character development in there, as well as some plot progression and plot thickener. At least I think so. Ill let you all be the judge of that.

I didnt post with Plugg, purely because I felt that Pachamac controlled him wonderfully enough and had him perform enough of a part in the confrontation with Wraith for now. Thanks Pachamac, I was a little stumped there with Plugg, I didnt think of having him say what you made him say, which when I reflect on now, was quite obvious for Plugg and his personality. You really are good at picking up on characters my friend.

Night all!

She was curious. She considered asking just who it was on the phone, but decided it was probably a bad idea. Lucent was very cold and calculating, but he did come across as a little volitile at times as well. Goodness knew how he would react to the question.

Besides, there were more important matters at hand. Now she could hear it too, her heightened sence of hearing almost as good as Lucent's own. There was someone nearby...somewhere...whoever it was was good at stealth too, she couldn't quite pinpoint a location.

She did have one thing Lucent didn't have though...a powerful sence of smell! Her nose twitched as she scented the air, looking for a smell she didn't recognise.

There was something...although this one she DID recognise! Where from though...? It rang a bell...a recent bell too...

She purposefully didn't look round, not wanting to give away the fact that they knew the intruder was there until Lucent deemed it nessecarry.

"So we going now?" she asked the bat, cocking her head to one side. "Forgive my impatience but I've been waiting for this for a long time. I want to get it done quickly!"

Darn it! Trey thought, quickly shifting back around the corner of the alleyway as he had given a quick peek around it to find who the targets were exactly, and upon immediately discovering just what it was, had to immediately back out and hide, keeping perfectly still. He didnt want the group to be able to use their senses to discern where he was, and that meant keeping perfectly still, and thus Trey became completely motionless, crouching down with his back pressed against the wall. Just around the corner were the people David had located and the person who they were all searching for in the first place. Arista.

She wasnt with Sachio or Morgraine, and for that Trey was thankful. If she was with them, chances were shed be dead by now. So, at least she was alive, and from the looks of it, relatively unharmed. But, the people she was with this gave way for whole new concern, and with it Trey silently cursed. Although Arista wasnt with Sachio or Morgraine, she was with the next worse thing. Lucent the Bat. Lucent the freaking MAGIC wielding Bat. Leader of the Nocturnes and with a terribly uncomfortable rep. He was one of the most powerful and influential figures within the city and probably gave the other gangs the hardest time out of all of them.

This was bad, really really bad. Just why the heck was Arista with him?! A million different thoughts and possibilities flew through Treys mind, but none of them which really made much sense. He continued to be tense, whilst being completely still. The people there would have had good senses and could have possibly heard or smelt him. One of the worse things though was that this WAS Lucent. A Bat. So of course his hearing would have been incredible!

Blast it! Trey, what have you got yourself into? More importantly, Arista, what have YOU got yourself into? Trey thought to himself. He didnt dare peak around the corner to see what the group were doing, instead preferring to keep his cover as best as possible, waiting and hoping that they would just leave. But, it wasnt really what he wanted. He wanted to get Arista back and with the Neo Freedom Fighters, but if the Nocturnes left it was most likely that Arista would too. Lucent was merciless and for that regard Trey was surprised that she was still alive. Because of it, Lucent must have had a purpose for her, and thus why she was still alive.

Trey slowly, and silently began to slink away, moving from the edge and away from where the group was, retreating back to a safer position and somewhere he hoped was far enough away from the Nocturnes. He took momentary shelter behind a dumpster (unaware of the dead bodies within, which had now been closed through the shut dumpster) and he activated his communicator. He had to alert the others about what he had found out, but after it he didnt know what to do.

Guys, everyone listen. Ive got good news and bad news. Trey spoke up.

There was silence and a pause on the other side, as people were considering after having listened to it.

What you found found, cat cat? came a replying voice from Delougre. Whats the good good news?

Ive located Arista. Trey replied, although his emotion and tone revealed no joy from it. The bad news is, Ive found a whole lot of trouble with it. Trouble beginning with a capital N

The two standing figures stood apart a short distance, as if frozen, considering their conversation they had had just moments ago. The third figure, who stood frozen and still within the middle of them had heard none of it, unaware of what had been discussed, or the true peril that he was in. Wraith the Echidna, Leader of the Neo Freedom Fighters, had his life hanging precariously by a thread at the mercy of his superiors. One of them, a gecko, Plugg, was closer to him after having inspected him, prepared to kill the Echidna before him and do his master a favour. The other, a black widow spider, Azieral, momentarily stunned by Pluggs choice words moments before, and finding herself in deep consideration about what to do exactly.

Well, Az? How about we kill the guy here and now? Lucent would be very happy with us if we managed to complete both our hospital mission and killing the leader of an enemy! Plugg proclaimed, continuing to talk and trying to get the agreement of his accomplice, who had been remaining silent in consideration about what to do exactly.

After a while and after the constant bantering of Plugg trying to get Azierals agreement, the black widow finally replied. No. I dont think thats the best idea, Plugg.

what? Plugg was stunned. What the heck was she saying?! This guy was one of his bosses biggest enemies and they had the chance to kill him right here and now! Think of the reward Lucent would have given them! And instead she doesnt want to kill him? Who on Earth is this spiders side on?

W-what do you mean? If we do this Lucent will be really pleased with us and- Plugg began to question and mutter, trying his best to get Azieral to agree with him. Azieral simply raised one of her many hands that were now free after sheathing her Sai, in a manner of telling him to stop, which he surprisingly did so, looking to Azieral with confusion, before she spoke.

It is a good idea, true. But think about this: How much more pleased would Lucent be if he did the job himself? We bring this guy back with us, all trapped and defenceless, and Lucent gets the finishing blow plus any other torture he wants out of him. Im sure that this Wraith could be much more beneficial to us if we let him stay alive a bit longer rather then just kill him. Think about it, Plugg. Information. Thats the most important weapon a person can have, and this guy here- She pointed at Wraith. This guys got to have loads of it, right?

Plugg slowly began to nod and agree. It did make sense, and Lucent would be far more happier with them. But how would they be able to carry him all the way back? Azieral couldnt carry both him and all the hospital replies, surely?

Azierals free hands shot out a web that begin to spin and form around Wraiths body, covering him slowly up and enveloping him into a thick cocoon. She created three pulling strands, two to be held by her two three hands and the other by Pluggs one good arm. She expected him to of course, help burden the weight.

Well? If were done we should move quickly and get out of here. Azieral replied, before beginning to move on and drag Wraiths cocooned form.

OOC: those were some very interesting posts there guys, i'm seeing oppurtunites much easier now that my writer's block is gone, and man, those posts couldn't have been more perfect.

Pachamac, i actually didn't think there was any way out for Wraith in that situation, i can't believe i didn't think of bringing him back to the Nocturne base. well, it was late at night that i read that last post, so i was probably just slow :nn;

Downtown District

"So we going now?" Arista asked the bat, cocking her head to one side. "Forgive my impatience but I've been waiting for this for a long time. I want to get it done quickly!"

Lucent brought up a hand to shush her. His eyes rolled to one direction as he tilted his head slightly, listening.

Tabby brandished his handgun and made a quick check on his clip to make sure it had some ammo left. 9 rounds. 9 lives to be taken, and he was a cat. That's irony for you.

Dirge had gotten into a fighting pose, cracking his knuckles a few times. Although neither he, or any of the gang had heard anything, their leader obviously had, and that usually meant there was definitely something there.

Arista remained calm, and faked some caution so as to seem more convincing in her objectives.

Both of Lucent's ears were up now as he listened carefully to his surroundings. He heard all manner of things, from some simple pigeons flapping by, to the sound of the calm morning breeze. Whatever he had heard, was either just something insignigicant, or was doing a damn good job of being quiet. Either way, Lucent was never one to dismiss anything he thought he heard. With an ego as big as his, Lucent never believed that he 'just heard' things, he had enough confidence in his abilities to KNOW he heard things, no questions asked. Being a bat, his eyesight was another matter, being only as good as that of any other mobian, if not slightly lesser.

He growled lightly as he stepped toward where this supposed sound had come from. The gang parted as he walked without paying any heed to them, clearing a path.

You numbskulls stay here he said quietly, keep a lookout for the re-enforcements.

He stopped and turned around. He glanced at Arista and motioned for her to follow him. Of course he was still wary of her, he was well aware that she could turn on him at any moment. As it were though, he knew that if she were to switch sides, she would have a harder time stabbing Lucent in the back than dealing with the not-too-bright individuals that made up his current party. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

Arista mentally cursed as she reluctantly followed Lucent quietly, mimicking the stealthy movements that he seemed to be utilising. That scent in the air was familiar indeed, but its source was still unclear, if it were indeed a friend, then that would mean she would be confronting them alongside Lucent! Could things possibly get any worse?

--------------------------------------

Nocturnes?!? was the reply that Trey got from various members of the group who could answer.

You sure about that? asked Max, he sounded puffed out, as he was frantically in search of Wraith after his last transmission was cut short.

Trey adjusted the volume on his communicator to be lower and he spoke in almost a whisper, Im certain. The ringleader was a blue bat who seemed to match the descriptions Ive heard on the radio Lucent the bat

*huff**huff* Not good*huff* replied Max, he stopped running for a moment to catch his breath and speak on the communicators.

A blue bat?, Davids voice came in with a hint of curiosity. If I recall correctly sirs, I have encountered- Delougere interrupted him, A blooooo batty-bat? Never seen one, no no sirreee!

David resumed his transmission flawlessly, as if Delougere hadnt interrupted at all, no hint of annoyance whatsoever, - this individual, or one quite similar, before. They appeared to be in a violent conflict with another individual at first, but after conversing, it was clear that they were in fact proceeding in non-violent matters. Is this individual dangerous?

About as dangerous as they get David replied Max he leads the Nocturnes gang, those guys have been givin Wraith and a whole lot of other people trouble for a long time.

Lucent the bat huh? said Asher amongst some static, Ive only heard a little bit about him on the radio. Know anything else about him Dave?

Im afraid my recorded data of this Lucent character are quite limited master Asher, and in need of an update it would seem. I now have Lucent marked down as a hostile individual. Will now proceed with caution in the case of a confrontation. David almost seemed spooked by the fact that he had once had an encounter with Lucent and lived to tell the tale, but perhaps that was just the distortion over the phone, but it seemed so lifelike.

Max, is Lucent the one that the radio said can use magic? asked Asher, curious, I think it was magic. Was it mag-

Nows not the time! interrupted Max, his breath returned to him. All you need to know is hes dangerous dammit, I had a feeling Arista would get herself into trouble somehow but I never thought shed get captured by Nocturnes!
Trey looked around carefully before talking into the communicator again, captured, might not be the correct term to use here Max.

Max took a moment to reply, Hang on, say that again? What do you mean Trey?

Trey shuffled a bit further alongside the dumpster, getting as much distance as he could without shuffling too much, From what I saw she wasnt being restrained. The gang were all in a group away from Lucent while he was using a phone, I couldnt hear him speaking so I dont know who he was calling, but out of everyone there, Arista was standing closest to him.

hang on, slow down, so whats going on here? said Asher, confusion in his tone, whos the bad guy?

bad bloo batty-bat, thats whoooo! replied Delougere at a volume that made Trey adjust his communicator again.

What the hell Arista?... muttered Max, Trey, is there anything else you can tell me?

nothing. Replied Trey, I wish I had an answer for you Max, but Im as confused as you are.

Master Trey, Master Alex, perhaps Miss Arista has managed to infiltrate the Nocturnes. Replied David, he was eager to help and was trying to come up with some explanations. infiltrate! Annihilate! sang Delougere in the background of Davids transmission.

But that doesnt make sense! answered Max, She hates street gangs more than any of us, why would she-

Try cut him off, Im going to find out, okay? he was eager to end the transmission as soon as possible so he could bring his full focus to his current situation, plus he needed his arm, Im still in position to keep an eye on them, Ill report with new information once I-

drop it.

Trey went silent and froze. He slowly tilted his head up to see who that shadow-piercing voice belonged to. His own eyes met with two, almost glowing, menacing blue eyes surrounded by a dark fur covered figure with large ears and a look that just spoke out fear. He mentally cursed himself for paying too much attention to the transmissions to not be able to hear Lucents footsteps, even if Lucent was being stealthy.

Once you what? ...Trey I didnt get the end of that message, can you say that again? Trey? Trey are you there? TREY! Maxs worried voice came in clearly on the communicator, but Trey was crouched motionless, looking straight at Lucent with his mouth slightly open and the communicator lying limp in his hand.

Lucent growled as he snatched the communicator from Trey with one hand while forming the other into a palm which he pointed squarely at the Cheetahs head, point blank range.

Lucent smiled slyly as he brought the communicator up to his ear.

Master Trey is non-responsive sir Davids voice also seemed worried.

TREY! DAMMIT TREY WHERE ARE YOU? screamed Max, hoping to get a reply.

Whatever feeble-minded idiots are tuned into this infernal contraptions wavelength, now hear this! said Lucent in a menacing tone, everyone on the line fell silent.

I have plans to set into motion, and whoever thinks they can get in my way will suffer a death as utterly painful as your friend here is about to. It would be in your best interests to stay the hell out of my way, and be thankful that it isnt your sorry hides cowering before me at this very moment. You have been given a warning, that is the most I will ever give. With that, Lucent threw the communicator across the road, where it hit the opposite wall and scraped along the ground where it landed.

He turned his gaze down to the startled Trey, Lucent smiled and narrowed his eyes, How unlucky you are to find me in such a foul mood. Do you have any idea, what kind of day it has been? One interruption after another

Trey closed his jaw and tried to adjust his posture, it was uncomfortable to continue curving his neck the way he was, and he didnt want to leave Lucent out of his sight.

There are only so many times I will tolerate spies unfortunately for you my tolerance for spies reached its end years before I even came to this god-forsaken city Lucents intimidating voice matched his darkened figure as he stood in the shadow of the building with his eyes brightly piercing through the dim light.

Trey swallowed as he tried to look un-affected by Lucents taunting. If youre going to kill me then just get on with it he sounded brave.

Hmph! Youd deny me the opportunity to watch you squirm like the annoying little insect that you are? replied Lucent with a chuckle.

Lucent kept his palm focused on Trey, as his other hand reached into his jacket and brought out his trademark weapon, the spiked chain. That wasnt what made the fur on Treys neck prickle up though, what did it was who he saw emerge around the corner to stand behind Lucent.

Lucents eyes slid to the far right and he turned to face Arista for a moment before returning to Trey. His smile turning to a sinister grin, Ah, yes, how could I be so rude Arista?

Arista didnt like where this was going.

With all youve made yourself out to be thus far, I wonder to what extent your fighting abilities stand. Lucent chuckled before continuing, I will need to see them if I am to be sure I want to include you in my plan to exact your revenge

Plan for revenge? thought Trey, Arista included?

Lucent lowered his palm and stepped back. Kill this filthy excuse for a living being, kill him like you would kill Sachio and Morgaine.

Both Trey and Aristas eyes widened slightly as Lucent finished his sentence.

Lucent eagerly awaited the events to follow his orders. If Arista was truly loyal, she would have no problem killing this cheetah who had proven to be an obstacle in the way of their plans.

Outside St. Kindlesburys Hospital

Plugg groaned as he dragged the limp echidna with the chord that Azieral had made. this guy needs to diet! he mused.

Azieral replied softly, Hes actually surprisingly light for someone who has metal implants like he does I guess the rumours about it being lightweight material were true.

Plugg snickered, Lucents gonna be real happy now! After hes done with this joker, he can tear off the lightweight metal and use it! Oh man, Im so- were so getting rewarded for this!

Azieral didnt make any actions in response to the childishness of Plugg, she didnt see any point anymore.

The two, and their cargo neared the Nocturne headquarters and began to walk through the front gates.

Plugg was whistling a tune, but it was interrupted by a short boom and a large kick-up of dirt appearing near a newly formed hole right next to his feet.

what the HELL!? screamed Plugg, looking up. His eyes caught a figure poking his upper torso out of one of the higher windows of the hospital wielding a single-barrel shotgun. It was one of his own gang members.

oh, sorry Plugg! shouted the gun-wielding beetle, thought ya was an intruder!

GET SOME FREAKING GLASSES YOU PUTZ! shouted Plugg back.

my eyes are fine! Its me hearin thats buggered! replied the beetle as he withdrew back into the building.

Plugg sighed as he regained his grip on the cord. Thats Tyson, he thinks hes got bad hearin, but its his eyes that have problems, even Nurse keeps tellin him that, but the guys a blockhead!

They entered through the main doors as two guarding henchmen let them in.

Myst came up to the pair as she heard the gunshot, meaning someone was entering the base.

About time you two came back. What hap- she stopped as she looked at what trailed behind the two.

Upon closer inspection, Myst noticed it was a mobian, whos that?

Azieral was about to answer when Plugg intervened, Thats Wraith! Leader of the Geo Feeder Floaters! We captured him ourselves!

We found him collapsed in a gutter hes in rough shape said Azieral, trying to make sense of Pluggs banter.

A look of concern fell over Myst as she bit her lip, she knew about the Neo Freedom Fighters, of their good deeds and she had respect for them, despite Lucents hatred for the group. She certainly didnt want to see any harm come to the leader of a group that would perhaps serve as good role-models for Lucent to change his ways.

Right. She replied, Ill bring stretcher, get him out of that stuff would you? and she sprinted toward the medical room.

Azieral began untangling the Echidna while Plugg began bossing around other gang members to take all the stolen medical supplies. He seemed to believe that his authority stretched to outside the mission boundaries as well. Power in any form always went straight to his head.

Before long, Myst returned with a stretcher and Azieral helped her load up Wraith onto it and wheel him into the medical room.

Good co-incidence that you brought new medical supplies and a wounded patient in one. mused Myst as she walked up to the door of the medical room to close it, thanks Azieral Plugg, for the stuff. Ill patch Mister Wraith here as best I can. Oh yeah, Lucent called. He said you two have to get to the downtown district by the phones right now, hes got almost the whole gang there! Plugg, you know the way, show Azieral. With that, she shut the door.

Plugg and Azieral glanced at each over before racing down the stairs.

Myst got out a bottle of disinfectant straight from the new box and opened it. She poured some onto a clean cloth and began dabbing along the echidnas arms and legs, he was absolutely coated in what looked to be infectious moisture, he had to be cleaned as best she could.

That armor of his covered his chest, but Myst didnt know how to remove it, so she couldnt see if he was clean underneath, thus she left it and instead reached for another cloth and disposed of the current one.

She put some disinfectant on this one and began to dab the echidnas forehead, taking care around the metal implant which seemed very strange indeed.

And just where have you been? she asked the echidna, more out of having someone to talk to rather than expecting a reply. Whoever got you got you real good damn, you poor thing.

She noticed the bullet wound in Wraiths leg and instantly reacted, grabbing out a pair of tweezers and a scalpel. The bullet inside had to be removed.

She placed the surgical equipment on a tray and reached out for a needle of anaesthetic. She didnt want Wraith to feel any pain while she removed the bullet.

Slowly she brought up the needle and removed the cap over it. She carefully went next to Wraith and slowly brought the needle to his wounded leg

(OOC: DANG this RP is AWESOME!!! It's 3:45 am here atm and I'm worried I won't be able to do it justice atm, plus I need time to think up some way of following these awesome posts!

Will IC tomorrow ;) )

Edit IC:

"David, get over there...right now!"

"But sir, my orders were to..."

"I don't care what your orders were! These are your new orders! Get your metal butt over there and help Trey!" Max's voice came through the reciever.

"Hehehe...DeLougere make big baddy bat go boom boom!" exclaimed the rabbit beside David, grinning widely.

"Not a chance." muttered Max on the other end of the line. "DeLougere, you're to wait for Angela and Asher to pick you up, then you'll follow David together, understood?"

DeLugere looked pained. "Aw, I wanna blow batty up!" he exclaimed, a note of sadness in his voice. Wether he would actually follow the orders or not was anyone's guess.

David spoke again: "Very well sir, I will go now." He turned and started running down the street, his robotic legs accellerating him to impressive speeds in no time! He would reach the danger area very quickly...

============================================================

Arista's mind was working fast. If Trey made it obvious he knew her they could both be in danger! Lucent would be sure to suspect something!

"I don't know who you are..." she said pointedly, "but you made a mistake."

Trey didn't move, a look of confusion on his face. Then he spoke: "I'm not here for trouble...I'm just looking for a close friend of mine who's lost...I think I may have upset her..."

Arista blinked. Deep inside she was in turmoil...she felt like crying. I didn't want anyone to see me here!

"Out here alone, she's probably dead!" she replied, keeping her voice even.

Trey shook his head. "I don't think so...she's too tough for that. I think she's just lost."

Arista bit her lip. "Maybe she left you for a reason...maybe she had no choice..."

"SNORE!" exclaimed Lucent from his spot at the side of the road. "I told you to fight him, not talk him to death!" A hint of anger was showing on his face.

Arista was shaking, but she took a deep breath and fixed Trey with a glare. She shrugged, trying to make it look like she was making fun of Trey to Lucent, but trying to appear sincere to Tray! "I'm sorry..."

She dived forward, catching Trey off guard and landing a sharp kick on his chest. He staggered and fell back, but quickly rolled and stood up again, his stance much more prepared. His eyes registered shock as he stared at Ari.

She tried desperatley not to cry as she slowly began to circle the cheetah, tensed for battle...

============================================================

Myst jumped as a hand lashed out, grabbing her by the wrist! The grip was strong and powerful, and she couldn't wriggle free!

"Where...am I...?"

She looked at the figure's head in shock. One of his eyes were open, and he was staring at her! "You...you're in a hospital! I'm trying to help you!"

Wraith regarded her a moment, then released his grip. His hand went to his head and he let out a grunt of discomfort. "There aren't any hospitals still running in the area..." he muttered quietly.

Myst paused for a moment. If this really was the Wraith from the Neo-Freedom Fighters, how would he react if he found out he was in the base of one of his worst enemies?

"We keep a low profile." she answered, avoiding the question expertly. "You shouldn't speak...you need rest!"

Wraith sighed and nodded slowly, letting his hand drop back to his side. "I'm going to treat the wound on your leg." Myst continued, trying to sound calming. "I'm going to anesthatize the area. There may be a pinprick, but nothing more."

Wraith glanced around the room as she went to work. His leg was still numb anyway, and he didn't feel the needle as she used it.

This wasn't any hospital ward he recognised. Not that he'd had chance to be in many, but something nagged at him that something was wrong. A hospital system in downtown...working undercover...simply to help people? That didn't gel somehow.

A fresh blast of dizzyness washed over him and he closed his eyes. His mind wasn't ready for deep thought yet.

"So...what's your name...?" he asked quietly once the dizzyness had passed...

Trey hadnt decided on revealing Arista, or the fact that he knew her just yet. He tried to communicate with her in a way that wouldnt reveal herself as an enemy to Lucent, since he didnt want to put her in danger as well, but he also wanted to try to come to terms with Arista, and why this sudden pact with the devil, especially given how obvious it was she had a strong relationship with Wraith. Would she just betray him like that?

Given that Wraith was still okay, that is. Trey had heard that Wraiths mission went bust and that he was in trouble, hence why Max had left the mission of finding Arista to help Wraith. He wasnt sure what exactly had happened to him, but right here, right now, he had much more important things to do.

Trey continued to go in a circle, matching Aristas pace as they both tensed up, waiting for the right moment to strike. He was actually quite surprised by how forceful her kick was, but Trey boiled it down to the suddenness of it and the fact he was surprised. He wouldnt be thrown off guard again, and, although he didnt want to fight Arista, he knew that now it was a necessity. And he didnt doubt that he could win. He seemed so sure of himself against Arista, she just seemed weaker to him. But, then again, that might not be the case. Never overestimate your opponent. But, then again, if Trey was even able to manage beating Arista, he still had Lucent to deal with. And escaping that situation seemed like a frightful improbability.

That makes things even. Trey said, his one hand raised over in front of his face for protection. His cloak was masking the area where his other missing limb was, so to Lucent, he wouldnt know that the Cheetah was only one armed.

I wont make things easy for you. Youre my enemy now, and I cant change that. Trey solemnly spoke. Only one person can.

Oh for gods sake, get on with it! interjected a more bored voice from Lucent who continued to stand a short distance away, his arms folded in front of his chest. He was getting impatient.

However, Trey used the time of Lucents speaking, the distraction, to move. Lucents booming and threatening words had just shook Arista and gave Trey the opening he wanted and had actually been planning for. Before Arista couldnt react, Trey had already gotten up close to her and swung his right leg up, upper cutting Arista in the stomach and throwing her up in the air and a shocked and stunned manner. In one fluid motion, Trey had begun spinning around in the air, his right leg regaining its footing on the ground as he swung his left leg around in an arc, preparing to smack Arista on her left cheek. But-

-he hesitated. Treys swift movement slowed down in enough time for Arista to regain her senses and duck the swing, Treys leg swinging harmlessly over her head, before Arista charged in forwards and low, grabbing Trey by the waist and knocking him down to the ground.

Uhn! Trey muttered aloud as the ground was swept from his feet and he collided back into it with his back, Arista on top, who had broken the hold mid fall and had now got both of her hands free, sitting atop Treys stomach and preventing him from moving.

She paused and hesitated a slight second as she looked at Trey, and saw him expectantly looking back at her, defiant. He frowned at her, awaiting for what she had to do. Arista finally let go of the pausing, and began punching him in the face with weak, will-less blows. She didnt want to do this, and couldnt really muster the strength to do anything overly painful.

But Trey reacted with surprising hurt on each strike, his head being knocked backwards into the ground, as if he was acting that the attacks were much more stronger and hard-hitting then they were really. Arista wasnt sure if Trey was acting though as it did seem flawless, and wondered whether her strength was greater then she thought. She lowered it down and her hits became much weaker. She really didnt want to hurt Trey, much as she found her circumstances forcing her to do.

THUMP. Aristas blows suddenly stopped, as one of her fists was caught cleanly by Treys one, good arm. Her face was difficult to see, completely shadowed, but from Treys vantage point he could see the expression perfectly on her face, one entailing tears. This is your decision. Trey said. I hope youre happy with it.

Trey lifted and swung one of his legs upwards, smacking Arista in her back and knocking her forward, off guard, before Trey let go of one of her fists and instead curled it up into a fist of its own, punching Arista in the cheek and throwing her off him, landing in a small slump on the ground a short distance away.

Lucents expression was one filled with not much happiness as he continued to watch the developing battle. But it was early yet, she might be able to come back around and secure a win.

if Trey hadnt already begun running away. Trey was trying his best to make his way out of the situation as possible. Fighting Arista, although it pained him to do so, he could do it. Fighting both her and Lucent was suicide, and nothing good would come out of it. Best to make tracks now and see if there was any possible way of dealing with Arista, for good or bad, later. His being a cheetah led him to have a good amount of speed, but Lucents reactions were just as fast. A bright blue glow around his hand had already formed through his own concentration, and then a second later, through his fist being open and his arm outstretched, a small blue comet escaped it, heading in the direction of Treys escape.

Svarminus Paralia! Lucent called out at the comets escape from his touch, and it speed quickly enabled it to catch up just behind Trey, ready to strike him until the cheetah suddenly turned the corner and disappeared down the alleyway through there, creating a fair distance between him and his enemies, but much more concerned for finding real cover. A building would be the smartest option
