OOC: Sorry for posting a little late...RL is biting at my ankles again, but hopefully things will have calmed down by now.

One major problem I have atm is dealing with the characters that have become NPCs, as has been mentioned earlier. Angela, Asher and DeLougere are brilliant characters, but I honestly don't know what to do with them or how to play them, and as it happens all three seem to have ended up within my jurisdiction! Angela and Asher are returning to the Neo-Freedom Fighter's base (where I have to deal with them) and DeLougere is with David after Trey left (again, my reigon). This is not to say that I think they are bad characters or anything, and all credit to SL and Mike for creating them, but I honestly don't know how I should play them and what to do with them, as they aren't my characters! I had considered leaving them at the Neo-Freedom Fighter's base, but that seems somehow...weak to the plot, to just drop them...

Any ideas...?

As far as the plot goes, I think it's going really well! I'm not sure what Eclipse had planned for Lucent and Ari, so I'm kinda waiting for him on that one, but I can't wait for Lucent and Wraith to meet! I have a few plans that I wanna try if the situation allows, and I think it'd be awesome! Naturally, this would depend on if it were possible, and if not then np, but I'd love to try them if poss.

I also have a plan for David, and Max, who seems to have become a character even though I didn't intend him to! I may instigate that in the next few posts if I have the chance.

The major plot problem that I see though (and forgive me Ben, I'm not getting at you here or anything) is that I thought all this with the Neo-Freedom Fighters and Nocturnes etc was simply a side-story, and the main story would be brought in with Frost as things evolved, but Ben was buisy and so the secondary plot took over. Was I wrong in this, and this was actually the main plot? My point is that I was kinda waiting for Ben to come back and carry on the main story with something big and long that would affect everyone, but that didn't happen, and I was kinda left wondering "Oh...ok". I can't help but wonder if maybe this is why some ppl left...

As I said, please don't think I'm getting at anyone. Nobody can be blamed for being buisy with RL, and it was probably me simply getting the wrong end of the stick in the first place and mistaking what the main plot of the story would be...my fault entirely. In either case I'm still all for continuing, wether we continue as we are going or branch out in a new direction, and I'm interested to see what ideas everyone else has too^^

OOC: Pach, no! It's cold enough as it is! >>;

Wraith, you're dead right. I only have 4 minutes to reply. And you're entitled to express what you did.
Frost was the trump card to get things rolling. In a way it's quite funny how Sachio and Morgaine were more well known and seen as more of a threat XD. I just never got a chance to get Frost to pave the way.

It is NOT your fault though! We always envision an RP to happen in a predictable fashion, but it nearly never does. So we'll see what transpires once we get posting again.

I will read my pages tonight. Done half of them n.n
Check y'all later!

OOC: Wow, just wow! When I read all those posts... I was upset that I'd finish as I wanted to read more! Takes a lot to bring me back to want to see a 'to be continued'- to make come to a netcafe to write this. I don't think I've had that when reading an RP... EVER! Normally it's horribly tedious to catchup but this was a pleasure. I think you're all very talented people and all have an individual style!
I copied and pasted posts without usernames and printed them out in word. And although everyone writes their posts such that they compliment one another well and flow, I can still see the unique styles there. XD
There's everything here... action, emotions shocking surprises, and comic relief!

In particular;
Wow, I wonder what's up with Trey that he left the group like that. Well, at least David and Delougre. I'm really wondering what he's going to be up to next.

Gawd, the conflicting emotions that are described in Wraith and Ari's mind is excrutiating! I mean it's a great read but it's really done well to an extent that it grips you, I think. *hopes that things work out*. They can't get worse after all, right?

Lucent... just keeps on getting better and better. Such a cold and intimedating personality! Interesting trait with the Chaos Emerald there.
Oh, and that scene with him sneering at Plug when Plug was like, trying to impress Ari and all that was abseloutly hilarious! XD

Sword... ROFL! He's a character and a half! XD Dgeeze, what bad driving! The dialogue there and the driving scene was described SO well. That was one of my favourite reads. Your manner of writing is also unique Brent. I have to commend you. It's kind of 'tongue in cheek' in my opinion, your style.
And everyone else as well! Super dooper writing! :)

IC:
The beach

The overlanders let out a slight mumble and grumble as they reluctantly followed Sword's lead. The injuries they had sustained from his wild driving did nothing to help the situation. They wouldn't do well to escape either, as they wouldn't get very far. Or they may be found by GUN. Or worse, given their current location, Sachio and Morgaine.
How it irretated them that everywhere was a dead end!
"Dgeeze! This is crazy!" one of the overlanders exclaimed "we're walking into a Lion's den..."
"They're only kids though... I think." replied the other overlander.
"Bloody strong kids!" replied first overlander "that Sachio is a magic wielding freak or something... heard he can possess your head..."
"There's not much to possess in your head though!"
"Why you little... YEOUWCH!" the overlander screamed, his movement worsening the pain of his severe injuries before he could reach out and throttle his colleague.
"Quiet." Sword ordered, turning his head around and frowning for a good few seconds.
The overlanders fell silent, trying to shut the pain of their injuries out of their mind and pursueing the march- as it were.
"...and the girl is a sly."
"What, as sly as a fox?" Sword mused, surprising the overlanders as they had suspected he wasn't really paying attention to them in the first place.
The eagle's eyes suddenly narrowed, before spontaneously turning around and adopting a fighting stance.
"Huh?"
"What?" replied the overlanders, one after the other.
As they both wearily turned around, they nearly stumbled over- utterly taken back to see that someone had been standing behind them all this time.
"Hey boys..." answered a casual voice, belonging to a tall , grey coloured porcupine. Lienna. Morgaine's friend.
"You do know that this is a VIP area and you are gatecrashing in the wrong area?" she continued, frowning and pouting at that as she got out her mobile phone.
"Shall we see what Sachio and Morgaine have to say about that?" she said, in the process of dialling a number.

Cityscape

Lucent was still staring at Ari silently, then he took one last puff on his cigarette and threw it away. "Don't get your hopes up too high...heroes aren't always what they seem." He turned and set off again, as though the whole conversation hadn't even happened. His expression was unreadable...

*Boooooooooooooooooom*

The group suddenly jumped on the spot, all have been taken by surprise as they whipped their heads towards the an ear-splitting explosion, with a blinding white, yellow and orange light that illuminated all the buildings.
"What the bloody hell..." Lucent sneered through gritted teeth, bemused at the spontaneity of the happening- the inconvenience of having to deal with yet another irretating scenario being the farthest at the back of his mind.
In addition, he felt a certain additional, irretating pain as he felt that Chaos Emerald he had been searching for was slightly knocked out of his detection.
"Yargh!" Plug wailed, jumping into Arista's arms like a crying baby. Arista stood there, simply dumbfolded as she held Plug within her hands, before frowning irretably, and dropping him such that he hit the ground with a hard thud.
Azieral held her position- indeed slightly startled, but kept her composure nevertheless. Indeed the post-world of the ARK disaster brought about chaos and destruction which she expected herself and everyone to have been used to by now. But this caught her off guard as well.
"Boss. Uhmmmm. Should we. Uhm. Investigate...?" Tabby whimpered.

*before the explosion*

"You have a Chaos Emerald in your possession! Where is it?" Frost shouted wildly against the wind which whipped his quills in all directions. He leapt and tackled a muscular, black shirted rhino on top a truck which he had infiltrated.
The rhino tried to aim a couple of fists towards his face, but found them countered radically by Frost's blocks. The rhino eventually managed to kick Frost of him, causing the hedgehog to fly back and almost skid off the roof of the truck.
"You crazy pin cushion!" the rhino spat, adjusting his black sunglasses and getting up to walk towards the dangling Frost on the other end of the truck "you ain't getting none of our customs... so hit the road jack!" the rhino continued, lifting the hoof of his foot to crunch Frost's fingers.
As the hoof came crashing down however, a spontaneous light blue flash reflected off the rhino's sunglasses and the sturdy anthro stood there in disbelief as he noticed the hedgehog had dissappeared.
"What the..." began the rhino, but winced and grunted when he felt a sudden kick against the back his neck whick sent him flying off the roof of the truck. His body viciously hit the grazing road, causing him to be scrapped and scratched severley before falling off the side of a bridge.
"Saiyanora, you two horned-freak!" Frost shouted maliciously, followed by an evil laugh as he momentarily threw the chaos emerald up in the air and caught it effortlessly.
He turned around in a self-conceited manner, before leaping forwards, as he was about to jump off the front of the truck.
He found himself crashing through the front window of the truck- his hands around the driver's neck within seconds as he wrecklessly began to constrict his breathing.
"What the... you...!?!?!?"
"The Chaos Emerald. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!"
"What.. the.. gack.. the hell. is. we don't..." gurgled the truck driver, his face beginning to turn purple.
"I know you have it! I know you bloody well have it! You stupid bastards know nothing of them like I do!" Frost shouted frantically, the wind blowing shards of glass and smog all over the place- all with the catalysing realisation that he knew they were about to crash any second "just give it to me!!!"
"I...."
Frost's one eye froze as he suddenly heard the grating- the commencement of crushing steal, mechanics, and bones disintergrating and the shards of metal and glass inches from his face.
*Boooooooooooooooooom*

Trey frowned. The explosion was un-expected, and off-putting as well. Although, in this new age, he had come to expect explosions occurring at any time, the fact that one suddenly happened liked this reminded him that it could just so easily do so at any time. As such, his life could be forfeited at any second and by pure, dumb luck, too.

He wasnt quite ready for death yet. No not quite now. He had something left to fulfil, and he would be sure to do so before his time on this planet was spent. He had considered it many times before in the past, about whether it would be better to end his life here and now, and yet always came to the same conclusion. That it wasnt. That, by being alive, although he prevented himself the relief from such a hell that by just being alive, he could do something for this planet. He could help someone. Make things right.

Yet unfortunately, such a thing always seemed to be wrong. He would come to a disappointing and undesired conclusion. Things constantly felt strained, like no matter what he did, he would always fail. Oh, how long he had continually contemplated to end it all and join his family.

But thats not what they would have wanted, is it? The easy way out. No, Trey never ended up taking the easy way out. The hard way as expected, it was much more difficult, yet the results were always meant to be much more greater. And yet no matter how hard he tried, trey always found himself failing. Every single time.

no matter. Trey said, turning his head away from the direction of the explosion, and back towards the group of Nocturnes. He was making sure to keep a much safer distance from them this time, able to track them by their own, filthy disgusting smell. The prospect that innocent people could have been killed in that explosion was lost on Trey. As it was, the probability was that, rather than an innocent, just person facing the aftermath of it, it was probably a criminal, and nothing more then another violent gang war.

Yet gang wars always seemed to involve innocent people in the crossfire. He should investigate. He should make sure.

But he just didnt care anymore. Too many uncertainties. Too far away. All excuses he was telling himself, trying to make the fact about it seem better. He gripped his tired, weary face with his only hand, and tensed. He needed rest. Heck, he deserved rest! Yet something was constantly pushing him forwards. To finish what he had started. Alone.

Almost. Its almost time at last his thoughts drifted off. I will end it.

Cityscape

Azieral frowned, and looked around the members of the Nocturnes, her eight eyes all moving in different directions and accounting for the different members. Her two main eyes, however, were constantly focused on the more important man, Lucent himself. Tabbys question had been heard, and she was especially interested in knowing what the answer would be.

"DANGIT!!!"

"I appologise sir." murmured David quietly. "He was very determined. I could not see a way of convincing him otherwise, plus I did not see the need."

"We need the help of all the good men we can get in this chaos!" grumbled Max, pacing up and down the length of the warehouse angrily. "Trey was a good man! How are we going to co-ordinate everything if he goes off on his own?"

"He hadn't strictly signed up to the group, Max." murmured a thick set badger out of the crowd watching the proceedings. "His decision in the end."

"You'd think he'd have the sence to see that we need help!" retorted Max, still pacing. "First Ari, then Wraith, now him..."

"I got the location you wanted Max." called Aaron, who had been sat at the operations desk flicking through an old telephone directory. Max spun round as the racoon stood up and wondered over. "St Kindlebury's Hospital." Aaron continued. "That one they said someone was murdered in."

"What would Wraith be doing there...?" muttered Max, putting a hand to his chin thoughtfully.

"Are we gonna go look for him?"

The whole group turned to look up towards the office at the end of the warehouse, on the steps leading up to the door. The bright orange kitsune who had spoken was looking pointedly at Max, his two tails twitching slightly. Tails had decided to sit the last missions out and grab a chance to relax, something he hadn't done for a very long time, in the Neo-Freedom Fighters' base, but now he was wishing he hadn't!

"He told us not to, Miles." muttered Max, scratching his head.

"He's been my friend for a long time." interrupted Tails before Max could continue. "I don't care what he said, I'm going!I have to help him if he's in trouble!"

Max grinned, nodding. "You took the words right out of my mouth, kid." he replied. "We start immeadeately...not the whole gang, just a small group. We'll need stealth more than anything, one to avoid whatever it is Wraith is worried about, and two to avoid him himself when he realises we came anyway..."

BOOM a massive explosion echoed in the distance, rattling the few windows in the warehouse and stopping Max short. Slayd, the tiger, raised an eyebrow.

"We usually check out explosions like that, boss. We gonna do this one too?"

Max nodded. "Yeah, we should. Take a team, man."

DeLougere, who had been sat on a chair near the door looking rather sulky, had perked up when he heard the blast, and now he began to dance around again happily. "Boom boom!" he exclaimed. "Me go to see boom boom!"

"Good idea!" exclaimed Max, thankful that he wouldn't have to deal with the rabbit while trying to sneak after Wraith. "He's an explosives expert." he continued, turning to Slayd, who was eyeing DeLougere with a worried expression. "He'll be useful to your team!"

"So can we." said another voice from the crowd, as the twins, Angela and Asher stepped forward. "We'll go to check out that explosion, if it's alright with you Max." continued Angela. "You'll probably want a small group going after Wraith, and we know mid downtown better than we know north."

The bulldog nodded again. "True. Your help is greatly appreciated...and look out for Trey while you're out there!" He turned to David. "You, you're with us. You could come in handy. Look sharp people!"

It was only a matter of minutes later that the two groups left the warehouseand set off, Max, David and Tails heading north, Angela, Asher, DeLougere, Slayd and a few other gang members moving off into the urban sprawl that was what remained of downtown Station Square...

(OOC: IC with Wraith and Ari tommorow...need...sleep...

Hope this is ok though...it struck me that Tails kinda dissapeared earlier, and a hero like him would never be away from the action for too long! Also, I've put the twins and DeLougere into a role where we can all add to them if we wish, and still use them in the story if we want, without one person having complete responsibillity for them. If nessecery we could even slowly phaze them out, although if we could keep them in in case anyone wants to rejoin later it may be an idea, but...I dunno.

Hope it's ok anywho.)

OOC: Okey dokes, I'll have a shot at the NPC's.
Post was splendid ^^

IC:

Max, Tails and David thus embarked on their path North.
Tails blinked, as his more 'awakened' eyes took in the rather distressing details of the wrecked scenery. He put on a brave face, as to accept that five years on, the worst had indeed happened and there was nowhere else to go, except forwards- in a seemingly impossible task to rectify things despite no obvious direction, and confusion amongst allies and enemies as of yet.
Max carried a stern look on his face, thinking too much as to how much of a fight he might have to put up against anyone they either bump in- or worse, trying to convince Wraith otherwise to rejoin the Neo-freedom fighters once or if they got up to him. Perhaps try to persuade him that maybe Ari's actions weren't as badly as intended as they seemed.
The more he thought about it, the more he dreaded it, but conversely he wanted to be at St. Kindlebury's hospital NOW.
"You okay?" Tails asked, lending Max a faint smile.
"Huh... yeah, yeah it's all cool. Just grin and bare it." Max said hesitantly.
"Wraith's tough! I'm sure he's hanging in there..." Tails commented.
"I know that alright," Max replied "just... well, he sounded pretty damn certain he didn't wanna come back to this team..."
"Yeah, so you said earlier," Tails replied, maintaining a fast pace "but why?"
David turned to look Tails and was about to tell him about Arista straight away, before seeing a hand in his direction which was Max hushing him.
"Er..." Max frowned, uncertain to tell him the truth, particularly Arista's uncalled for actions and behaviour. After all, maybe there was a justified reason.
"It's a bit of a long story Miles. I think we should just focus on getting there, and busting Wraith out first."
"So how far are we away from the joint now David?" Max asked almost straight away so as to divert from the topic.
"Hey look!" Tails exclaimed, skidding to a halt as he pointed to a wrecked and worn looking sign.
"St. Kindlebury's A&E! Just around this building"
"Accident and Emergency?" Max asked "could be a big hospital. Which freaking department could he be in?!"

____

The other group, Angela, Asher, Delougere and Slayd thus made their way downtown. In the direction of the explosion.
Delougere was practically gagging to hear another explosion, as he skipped along with his long ears waving about.
The rest of the gang members did maintain a fast, but wary and steady pace. The orange and red illuminations were becoming more and more dense within the areas and the sound of the roaring flames got closer.
"Okay, we shouldn't really just walk right in it, should we?" Slayd asked, beginning to get annoyed as he observed the apparent excitement and obession the rabbit was having with this certain catastrophe.
"Well no. We're checking the commotion. And maybe if there are survivors," Angela explained.
"Stoopid! There sure as heck won't be ANY survivors from a 'bang' like that!" Asher retorted.
Angela rolled her eyes, not feeling very inclined to comment. However, as she rounded the next corner, she suddenly gasped, as she observed a blazing inferno which was spreading rapidly amongst the surroundings.
Slayd shielded his eyes slightly, trying to phase out the intense light and heat, as he tried to make out the source of the flames. After a while, he noticed a truck, turned over on its side which was half buried into the brick wall of what must have once been a building dedicated for business and trade. Although the sky scraper was still standing, the destruction, with the perpetuating flames wasn't the least bit a calming sight.
"What the... oh my god!" Angela exclaimed.
"Hmmm..." Slayd murmured, sort of used to this happening by now "doesn't look like a typical road traffic accident..."
He bit his lower lip as he flicked his head in all directions. He gasped suddenly when his eyes caught a slight glint, which then intensified- but dissappeared all of a sudden.
"Wait... there's something in the wreck, I'm going to go check it out..." Slayd announced.
"You can't walk in the fire!" Angela protested, pulling his arm back.
"Sounds like fun, fun FUN to me!" Delougere said merrily.
"But I think I saw a..."
The group suddenly gasped and froze simualtaneously as they heard another loud explosion- causing a shower of sparks to rise all over the place and rain over the buildings.
"Let me just go! Before this place melts down..." Slayd resisted, jumping out towards the flames where he saw the 'shine'.
Slayd slowed down his pace, wary of any sudden combustions which may go off around him.
He then bent down, reaching out towards a certain patch of rock. He could see some glittering amongst some soot. Rubbing the soot off, he was able to make out the face of... a red...
"It's a Chaos Emerald!" Slayd exclaimed.
As he reached out to pick it up though, he yelped when he found his wrist locked within an icey grip.
He looked up momentarily and gasped when he saw a set of cold eyes staring in his direction. A cerulean figure with a stern expression, and who was notably carrying a light blue Chaos Emerald himself.
"Can't touch this." Frost winked sinisterly, before aiming a powerful punch towards his face- which sent the tiger flying backwards, toppling and tumbling towards Angela, Asher and Delougere's direction.
The group stepped back and gasped- shocked at the quickness of the action, before Angela stepped down to help Slayd up.
"Hey... you okay... what was that?!?" she asked, wide-eyed and concerned.
"Ouuuch..." Slayd grumbled, slightly dazed as he stood up again.
"Bunch of kids checking out a fire?" called a cold voice, followed by a snigger "interesting."
At that moment, everyone's attention was direction towards a spined creature who walked out of the fire, Frost, who looked quite reposed but wary at the same time as he carried two Chaos Emeralds.
As he fully emerged, he stopped as he focused on each individual. He suddenly reflected on his missions in terms 'bounty hunting'.
"Sorry for the misconduct, but I needed this," Frost said, addressing Slayd and indicated towards the Red Chaos Emerald "but if I may ask, would any of you know the whereabouts of a certain Miles 'Tails' Prower. Or Wraith... the Echidna. Leader of the 'Neo-freedom fighters'?" he grinned, in the mood to be social for once.

Another explosion. Further away from where the first was. They probably had no correlation, but the timing of it it did make it possible for whoever did the first to have been able to do the second.

But he hated this. He wasnt some low recon agent. He was a Captain. And as such, he should have been issuing much more important commands to others. Operating the situation and issuing orders to the other G.U.N Soldiers.

Yet that wasnt his way. He was, in a sense, more of a loner. He had no problem with giving orders, it was just that he found, far more times then fewer, that the best way to solve something was to just do it yourself. You got better results that way. So this investigating the site of an explosion which had happened far more recently then the one DeLougere had instigated earlier, had become a priority of sorts. It was doubtful, however, still possible that whoever perpetrated the explosion before also did the same for this latest one. And whoever it was, they had to be found and contained quickly. The explosive weapons they carried were too much of a threat to be carried around in unsafe hands.

Of course, it could have simply been an accident. The result of a vehicle, or gas pipe exploding. But still, he would intend to search it out and find the results of it.

Nuts, intersections cut off. Warrick thought to himself, as he scanned the road in front of him. The large abandoned bridge in front of used to make a good route towards where he was heading, but since 2 years ago, the bridge had in fact been ruined by another explosion, which had torn the bridge into two. It had never been rebuilt. It was an inconvenience for the G.U.N forces for sure, but it also managed to help them in a sense in blocking escape routes for these criminal gangs.

Yet here, he found it an inconvenience for himself. Dont have the time or bloody patience to turn around he continued thinking to himself, and made sure that the motorcycle he was riding upon picked up more speed. If anyone was possible of viewing the rider now, at this time, they would think the man would be crazy enough to go right off the edge, committing suicide.

He was crazy enough, yet he didnt commit suicide.

Instead, the bike did sail right off the edge, yet landed on the mound of rubble below it safely enough, and although there was a loud, audible CRANG! which was most likely unhealthy for the bike (and the Captains personal wounds, which, although had healed to something degree, were far from perfect), was still in good enough condition to continue, almost without stopping.

He was much more closer now to arriving on the scene. He didnt have time to waste, as whoever had created the explosion would now doubt quickly leave within a matter of moments. He had to hurry.

OOC: Well this is a new day, but its been a while since it started so I would say late morning/earlier afternoon.

IC:
The colour drained from both of the overlanders faces.

Sachio and Morgaine? Err its ok we were err just err.. passing through yeah. The larger of the two stuttered. Both stepped back again, now behind Sword.

Lienna grinned, highly satisfied with the response of the two cowering overlanders. However it flickered for a moment when she noticed Swords reaction, or rather lack of one. Clearly he mustnt have heard her properly.

Hey bird boy! Too scared to move? Or are you just de,

My ears are functioning perfectly thank you, he interrupted straightening up. It was clear this porcupine was more interested in terrorising than fighting. She posed no threat, for the moment. However for a porcupine to be able to approach quietly enough that he did not notice until she was not three metres behind him? She was not someone to be taken lightly.

He flicked his scarf off is his arm and continued quite calmly, besides, I see no reason to be fearful of those who I am seeking in the first place.

Annoyance flashed across Liennas face.

This birds attitude she thought. She hit the dial button on her mobile and lifted it to her ear.

J-just ignore him w-were just p-pa-passing thro.

Sword snapped his fingers, silencing the two.

Be quiet. Running is useless. You would not get very far anyway.

The phone stopped ringing.

Morgaine? Its Lienna.

OOC: Short and sweet. My first shot at actually controlling someone elses character, not that i did much. Tell me if i got it wrong okay Ben? sorry if i did as well, still learning how to RP :nn;

OOC: It's all good Brent! :thumbsup You're a pro!

Wow, must also say I'mliking Warrick a lot as a character (:. Self-sufficiant and determined despite his frustrations.

Yup, late morning's good for me... *was also confused*. I also know it's Winter. Apparently. James described in a post ages ago sort of thing. *wonders why people are strolling on the beach*

IC:
The Beach

"Oh hey Lienna! How's it hanging?" Morgaine smiled as she held her mobile phone.
Sachio was also nearby, busy connecting a few wires from different radios- thinking that he might be able to figure out how to pick up phone conversations, walkie-talkies and other such signals from gangs and teams throughout station square. Even if he hack into the GUN communication systems somehow, he could uncover some secrets, or at least no in advance of any threats they may pose in the future.
...Or was there an ulterior motif he had in wanting to know about some of GUN's secrets? Or to any of this survelliellance schemes he was trying to get going, but with little success. Was he after something... or someone? Bar that ghastly Lucent, who had somehow survived.

"Nothing much," Lienna replied, looking towards the overlanders who temporarily breathed a sigh of relief.
"...except, you have a trio of tresspassers, who are standing right in front of me right now. "
The two overlanders began to shake again.

"A trio of tresspassers?" Morgaine responded, causing Sachio to turn away from his radio and to look at his sister inquisitively.

"Yeah. Two chicken-scared overlanders..." she sniggered "...and some ego-macho Eagle. He's getting on my nerves..."

"That just won't do Petal," Morgaine sighed, before smirking in Sachio's direction- but found that he seemed to have already dissappeared. She hesitated as she wondered where he may have gone "tell them to stay put and we'll be right over..."
She clicked her phone off, before casting her gaze around the room so as to find the whereabouts of her brother.

As Lienna clicked her phone shut, she recast her gaze at the group of three, and smirked.
"Sachio and Morgaine said..."
"You're SO dead!!!" yelled a voice, which came from whirl of blue and lavender that spindashed towards the group's direction, knocking the overlanders off their feet, and catching Lienna ever so slightly slightly by surprise.
The female procupine coughed slightly, before smirking, and folding her arms as she leaned against a nearby sign- always loving to see a scene.
Sachio stood up tall, and swatted his eyes amongst every individual.
The overlanders whimpered slightly, as they remained lying down in a cowardly heap.
Sword momentarily looked at the overlanders, before staring at a very angry looking hedgehog.
He kept his composure nonetheless.
"No one simply walks onto this site... it's unthinkable..." Sachio began calmly, sneering as his eyes drifted towards the side to stare at the overlanders, before making eye contact with Sword "either you pose a threat... or you wish to die. What's your bidding?!"

Howdy everybody! Sorry for my exceedingly long absence, although I am near the end of my second week of holidays, I have been somewhat uninspired for writing of any sort, not brought about by lack of interest mind you, it was brought about by lack of ideas purely on my part.

This is still one of the best RPs Ive ever participated in, in any form, and agreeing with Wraith 100%, I will also follow this RP to the very end.

Many thanks for Brent for alerting me to the rapid recent updates to Rise and Fall, from reading all of them, my imagination has been rekindled and I have gotten a sudden rush of ideas. The past few updates have been fantastic everyone, I particularly love seeing how all of the characters constantly manage to find ways to intertwine with each other and cause all kinds of chaos 😛

Great to see Frost back in action by the way! Hows your situation with accommodations now Bentleee? You probably mentioned it somewhere earlier, but I think I misunderstood or something.

Well, Ben, Pach, Wraith, Brent, thanks for your patience, and thus now I return to action. *maniacal evil guy laugh*

Couldnt help myself there ;P

Cityscape

"Boss. Uhmmmm. Should we. Uhm. Investigate...?" Tabby whimpered to Lucent.

Lucents eyes were focused on a rising pillar of smoke and ash that was rising with haste from the base of a skyscraper, a skyscraper that was uncomfortably not too far away from the Nocturnes current location.

The whole gang had frozen on the spot at the sound of the explosion, but now the sound of panicked conversation overwhelmed that sound, much to the annoyance of Lucent whos sensitive ears were still ringing, one can imagine how difficult it was for him to even consider a response to Tabbys question.

B-Boss?

After a moment, Lucent raised his hand into the air and focused some energy into it, causing flickers of light blue energy to dance around his fingers and serve as an attention-grabbing signal to the whole gang.

It took a moment, but eventually there was silence amongst the startled Nocturnes.

Lucent lowered his hand and sat down on the pavement, adopting a thinking pose that bore a striking resemblance to a certain statue in the art gallery.

A tactical mind such as Lucents often required a moment of silence in order to function at maximum, and thanks to the current moment of silence, Lucents mind was racing with streams of thought and strategy.

If there was one thing that the inhabitants commonly knew about this city, it was that conflict was no longer a tragic event, it was a way of life and a daily occurrence. The drill usually went as follows: word spreads of a few menacing figureheads, various sightings of these individuals occur, an act of conflict is instigated, the act concludes, GUN forces and other underworld individuals race to the scene to investigate for potential gain, whether it be information or material spoils.

With that explosion being so nearby, it wouldnt be long before hordes of scavengers, whether they be GUN or not, cross paths with the Nocturnes and interrupt the whole raid, spreading word about the Nocturnes location like wildfire.

It was inevitable that the gang would be discovered, no matter where they ran to now, being a group of such large proportions, splitting up into uncountable small groups would only bring more chance of being found, and re-grouping would be a nightmare.

Lucent looked out toward his forces. In a game of chess, it is always ideal to place pieces of the highest power within the most effective positions, and to use the expendability of pawns to ones advantage

As he stood up, he pointed over to Dirge, Tabby, Plugg, Arista and Azieral, beckoning them all to gather around him for a strategic discussion.

Tabby and Dirge approached swiftly, amazingly, as did Azieral despite being at the back of the group, although she had been watching Lucent constantly and instantly saw his signal. Plugg and Arista were already close to Lucent, although Plugg had been in a world of his own and just followed Aristas gaze to Lucent.

look, we all know that whatevers happening over by that inferno is going to draw a lot of attention correct? asked Lucent, well aware of the obvious answer, We will NOT be investigating that explosion, it would only mean leaving ourselves out in the open for GUN forces and whoever else that is likely to be wanting to investigate.

Lucent raised two fingers, instead we will split into two strategic groups, one being the bulk of our forces, while the other is a small infiltration team

Plugg raised his hand, Lucent simply shot him an annoyed glance and Plugg began to speak, What are the errmm.. whats the word FUNCTIONS! Of these groups exactly Lucent? he asked, trying to sound as intelligent as possibly by using big words in front of Arista, who was suddenly aware of Pluggs body odour but was trying not to show it.

Interrupt me again and Ill make you my third suicide team, understood? spat Lucent, now, the infiltration team will separate from the main group and continue to Sachio and Morgaines headquarters through the less trafficked beachside area. The main group will continue along the designated street path, in the case of gathering the attention of GUN forces or rival gangs, the main group will ignore these obstacles, effectively leading them along to Sachio and Morgaines frontline to aid in causing complete chaos on their doorstep.

Dirge and Tabby paled slightly at Lucents plan, they didnt like where it was going at all. Plugg on the other hand was too busy trying to look brave and bold for Arista that the chaotic scale of Lucents plan wasnt sinking into his brain. Azieral listened with interest to the plan, already well aware of her participation in it, meanwhile Arista was paying as much attention to the plan as she could, finding that focusing on the plan brought her mind off that terrible smell.

Lucents fangs began to show as he continued with a wicked sense of satisfaction, The chaos on the frontline is purely for distraction purposes, because as the bulk of Sachio and Morgaines forces are no-doubt busy, our infiltration team will be able to raid the base itself, and cause chaos from within. Lucent glanced over at Arista before continuing, not to mention that Sachio and Morgaine themselves are likely to be inside their base managing their defences, our infiltration teams objective will also be to kill them. Upon disrupting operations within the enemy headquarters and killing their leaders, the infiltration team will momentarily join the main fray outside and eventually our forces will scatter and regroup back at our own headquarters. Thus, our powerful rivals will be destroyed, their gang without their leaders will be reduced to nothing more but a scampering bunch of deluded followers. In short, this city is will be one giant step toward being ours for the taking. Lucent clenched a fist as he finished his speech.

The group around him took a moment to reflect on this, they all had their own opinions on the effectiveness of this plan, although that mattered little as Lucent gave the orders. Lucent pointed to Arista and Azieral, you two have already demonstrated to me ample skills in stealth and assassination operations, you and I will be the infiltration team.

WHOAH! Hang on a second! interrupted Tabby, so youre not going to be with the gang? How are we supposed to fight Sachio and Morgaines group withoutcha boss? They got guns!

You arent meant to dominate the frontline, youre meant to keep them busy for as damn long as you can, if I am in their base causing havoc then you wont have to be out there fighting as long. Replied Lucent.

Tabby nodded while gulping, he already felt more insecure without his handgun, but without his leader in a fight he felt even worse! Dirge obviously felt the same way but didnt speak up.

relax you two! said Plugg to Dirge and Tabby, well be really fast takin down Sachio and Morgaine so you two wont-

youre with them idiot snapped Lucent.

Plugg froze on the spot and his pupils shrank, WHAT!?! You cant be serious! B-but, my arm, I cant-

you cant sneak around a base with your arm like that idiot interrupted Lucent, disgusted by Pluggs cowardice, This isnt like that hospital I told you to raid, if anything you have more chance of dying inside this place than outside amongst the rest of the gang!

Plugg shivered, then looked over at Arista who tried to avoid his gaze, Plugg then summoned some courage and offered a salute to Lucent, dontcha worry boss, Ill make sure this whole plan goes smooth as uhhmm.. smooth as some.. really smooth thing.

Lucent sighed and placed a hand on his forehead, youre not the only one leading the main group, Tabby and Dirge are also in charge. And I thought you said your arm was injured.

Plugg realised he was saluting with his bad arm and felt the pain sting in. As Plugg started hopping up and down in pain, holding in curses, Lucent waved a signal to Dirge and Tabby who began shouting out to the gang, then Lucent signalled Azieral and Arista to follow him through an alleyway.

OKAY LISTEN UP! shouted Dirge and Tabby to different areas of the gang, WE GOT A CHANGE IN PLAN

--

Beachside Road

Lucent led his two companions, to a beachside road which they now followed. Lucent hadnt just chosen Arista and Azieral for his infiltration team purely because of their skills, there was also the fact that he trusted neither of them with leading his gang correctly, Dirge Tabby and Plugg may not be as bright as Azieral and Arista, but they were certainly scared loyal enough to do Lucents bidding.

Not to mention that Arista had Lucents chaos emerald, and although it would be ideal to leave her with the group so that he could constantly sense the groups whereabouts through the emerald as a medium, Arista had skills that he would no doubt need in infiltrating Sachio and Morgaines base, and her thirst for revenge was something that Lucent knew would come in handy as well.

Lucent signalled for the trio to stop as he listened to a noise that sounded like a helicopter flying away from their location. He looked up and saw a blur of something that resembled an aircraft, his eyesight wasnt very good.

Azieral, is that a helicopter? asked Lucent.

Yes, must be a GUN chopper, there arent many other helicopters that circle this area. Replied the spider as she looked up into the air.

Lucent simply started sprinting again, his associates keeping up with ease as they were both faster than he was.

Arista veered a little closer to Lucent and said, thanks by the way.

Lucent looked at her with curiosity.

Thanks for putting me on infiltration. I wouldnt get a shot at Sachio or Morgaine if I was with the others. Said the fox.

Lucent didnt reply, he just looked ahead, but Arista got a vibe that felt like a your welcome from him.

Its also a pleasure to be away from that stinking lizard added Azieral.

Arista couldnt help but laugh a bit, You smelled Plugg too huh? she said to Azieral.

I knew I wasnt the only one who could smell it said Lucent, taking part in the conversation.

Perhaps the trio would have laughed out aloud instead of keep the humour as a mild spark within themselves, had they all existed in a world other than the one they were in. To anyone who could have observed that small moment, it would almost seem like they were friends. Friends intent on committing murder, but friends nonetheless.

Lucent Said Azieral as she signalled for the group to stop. Lucent and Arista both followed Azierals gaze as the group of three hid behind a roadside fern, facing the beach. The beach itself wasnt much of a sight on this side, with fragments of scrap-metal littering almost the whole surface, and tides that were stained with a hint of oil. The beach was most definitely more pristine near the Hotel. As mentioned, the beach wasnt much of a sight, the focus of Lucent and company was instead fixed on a number of figures who were standing on the beach.

Lucent edged an ear in the direction of the individuals, bah, I cant hear them, just waves and infernal seabirds. I cant make them out either.

theres four of them, two are overlanders, one is a bird of some kind and I think I think the other one is Morgaine! said Arista frowning slightly.

no replied Azieral, the other one is a grey porcupine, shes using a phone.

can you understand what shes saying? asked Lucent.

no, its not clear now one of those overlanders is walking in the way, I think hes trying to negotiate.

Arista interrupted, the overlanders look panicked but that birds just standing there.

I I think hes an eagle. Said Azieral, that is somewhat unusual.

Do we get closer? Theyre in our way said Arista with a hint of anger in her voice.

Lucent eyed the blurs that were supposedly two overlanders and two mobians, are they armed?

the overlanders might be, but they look like simple street thugs, and theyre injured. Even if they are armed, they wont be much trouble. Said Azieral.

and the others? asked Arista, beating Lucent to it.

Azieral focused and analysed the figures ahead, I dont think that porcupine is armed, she doesnt look like the fighting type either by the way shes standing. Id still be wary though. We should really watch out for that Eagle.

hmph, why? said Lucent, in an arrogant tone.

Azieral spoke out her explanation with expertise By the way they are all standing I would say that those overlanders are his associates. And as panicked as they may seem, he is unusually calm. That tattered scarf is a dead giveaway as well, hes definitely a fighter, being an Eagle he is no doubt an outsider as well.

whoever they all are they are still in our way said Arista, almost gritting her teeth at the thought of another inconvenience to getting her revenge, something she had already sacrificed so much for although within her mind she surprised herself with how her emotions were being affected by her lust for revenge, it was frightening.

In terms of capable fighters, it sounds like we overwhelm them, but weve overlooked one important factor. What is that porcupine woman wearing? asked Lucent.

Azieral and Arista both gave Lucent a glance that meant something inappropriate. Lucent looked at them both with a hint of confusion then realised what he had just said, Not like that!! Is she dressed like an upper class or lower class?

Azieral swiftly turned back to the porcupine and back to Lucent, upper class, most definitely.

Lucent nodded, not many people can afford to dress like that, and not many people who do dress like that would be around an area near Sachio and Morgaines base, calmly talking on a telephone in the presence of a potentially threatening outsider. She is both an upper class individual, and calm in the presence of danger, she must be an associate of Sachio and Morgaine.

Arista and Azieral nodded simultaneously as they realised Lucents logic, even if how he said it sounded wrong.

what does that mean for us? said Arista.

Lucent called for another plan, I will be instantly recognised, and if that porcupine sees me she will no doubt alert our targets through that blasted contraption of hers. We should get closer and try to listen in, but be stealthy. If we get spotted-

someone else is coming! said Azieral pointing.

The group looked to the group and saw a blur of blue and lavender race onto the scene, knocking the overlanders aside. As the blur stopped, It was soon visible who it was.

thats- started Azieral.

Sachio Interrupted Lucent, somehow already certain of the identity of the individual, despite his eyesight.

Yes, just Sachio by the looks of it. Said Arista, a slight tone of disappointment in her voice.

plan? questioned Azieral.

Lucent moved on ahead stealthily, Arista and Azieral following him out of reaction.

Lucent, whats the plan? said Arista, repeating for Azieral.

Lucent remained silent as they got closer and closer to the group, close enough for him to listen

No one simply walks onto this site... it's unthinkable..." Sachio began calmly.

The Eagle and his associates are trespassers explained Lucent as he listened.

that makes things easier then replied Azieral, we should let Sachio and the Eagle fight it out, then when only one stands, they will be weakened and we can finish-

She stopped speaking as Lucent began to move out from behind the plate of metal that they were hiding behind.

Lucent! What are you...? Lucent!! Azieral tried to get Lucents attention, but it was obvious that he was stubbornly fixed on an objective, kill Sachio. Lucent! If youre spotted were all oh whats the point.. muttered Azieral as she slapped a hand to her forehead.

He wont wait until Sachios weakened said Arista, clicking her pistol, he wants a fair fight its a pride thing. Arista and Azieral looked at each other as they contemplated their own response to the situation.

"either you pose a threat... or you wish to die. What's your bidding?!" said Sachio to the Eagle, a smug intimidating expression on his face. Although that expression soon faded as he saw a blur of dark blue standing still on a side of the beach near the road. He squinted to make out what it was, looking over the Eagles shoulder.

The Eagle watched in curiosity as Sachio looked past him, the hedgehogs pupils shrunk and a luminous blue glow reflected off his eyes. Sword reacted just in time, and jumped sideways as Sachio did, narrowly dodging what looked like a light blue comet, which flew straight past their former locations and toward the open sea, eventually dissipating in a small fireworks display of light blue and white.

Sachio shook some sand out of his hair as he stood up, so thats where you went he muttered under his breath as he looked up. Sword followed his gaze from a crouched, battle-ready position against the ground, Lienna and the overlanders looked in the same direction.

There stood Lucent, a palm outstretched with an occasional blue spark flying off of it. His face was in a determined frown as he stared at Sachio and muttered, Nice day isnt it?

St. Kindlesburys Hospital

Wraith's eyes flicked open again and he fixed her with a stare. "Myst, you're going to tell me about Lucent...you're going to tell me everything. Where he is now, how long he will be away, what his temperament is, how he would treat prisoners...everything! I need to know and I need to know now."

Myst watched Wraith carefully, he had quite a temper, reminded her of a certain someone. Wraith, I can forgive you for that little outburst of yours, but you really need to reconsider who it is that youre talking to. Im not your enemy okay?

But Lucent is! replied Wraith in a tone that spoke out an attempt to control his own stress, Thats why I need you to tell me what I need to know.

Myst crossed her arms and bowed her head down as she leaned against a wall, youre right, I-Im sorry, I shouldve talked to you more about these things before, i-

no wait interrupted Wraith, Im sorry too, I shouldnt have attacked you like that. I just Im not sure I can explain to you yet, but Im just really stressed out right now.

Myst nodded in acceptance, okay, well... she sighed, First things first, hes taken almost the whole gang out for a full-scale raid on that Sachio and Morgaines base. Not sure how long hes going to be away, Im being completely honest with you.

Sachio and Morgaine? H-Hes going after them? hearing word of the raid against Sachio and Morgaine pierced Wraith like an arrow, this held great importance, and quite possibly explained Aristas involvement with Lucent.

Yes dear, unfortunately sighed Myst, Im already worried sick about him, he kept grumping around about some revenge he had to get or something. Why are you so jumpy all of a sudden mister Wraith?

Wraith waved a hand and shook his head, Im fine, Myst tell me more about Lucent, I need to know his temperament, how he treats pri-

I remember, I remember! interrupted Myst calmly as if talking to an upset child, although her expression sunk into a gravely sympathetic one as she continued, I wont lie to you Wraith, Lucent is very unpredictable. He has these tantrums almost all the time and he can be so cruel when hes fighting she stopped as she observed Wraith place a hand up to his forehead, covering his face.

She cautiously placed her hand on his and removed it from his face, revealing a very disheartened expression, -but believe me, there is something else deep inside him, I believe that hes not really a bad person deep down, theres something good just waiting to be released, I just know it!

You have so much faith in him because of what he did for you all those years ago, I remember you told me.. Wraith sighed, but how will he treat me? Im pretty much a prisoner of war.

Myst bit her lower lip, I just dont know what else to say to you. i.. a tear welled up in her eye, I just wish I could help you more somehow, Im so sorry if-

HES BACK! a loud shout from Tyson interrupted Mysts train of thought.

*sigh* hang on a minute said Myst, calming down as she walked out of the room to see what Tyson was on about.

what is it Tyson? asked Myst as she walked up to the beetle who was pointing out a window.

The boss is back! said Tyson as he squinted out the window.

Myst looked out the window herself, but didnt see Lucent, instead she saw a Bulldog and what look like the leg of a robot disappear down an alleyway. Mysts eyes widened at the sight of such things, thats not Lucent, were under attack! she said in a panic as she ran downstairs to Wraith.

Tyson looked confused for a minute, but then readied his rifle and looked out the window.

Wraith was startled as Myst came bursting through the door towards him.

whats going on? he asked

Myst caught her breath, Were under attack, I saw a gang thug and what looks like a combat mecha out there!

OOC:

Hope that was okay for everyone, concerning the part with Lucent, that was written during the course of today, so its ending was actually quite different to how it is now, I had to change it to fit with the arrival of Sachio onto the beach. I hope that Lucent joining the fray isnt an annoyance, I actually saw it as a complication and a plot device.

By the by, anyone is allowed to control Dirge, Tabby, Plugg or any of the Nocturne gang as of now, to make things interesting. Although keep in mind that the groups initial objective is to follow Lucents orders and attack Sachio and Morgaines base from the front.

And Ben, yes I agree with you when you say it is strange that people are on the beach if it is supposed to be winter, although I dont remember ever stating what season it was, unless you were talking about when it rained? Bah my memory sucks 😛

Brent, stop doubting your role-playing-ness, i agree with Ben when she said you were a pro!

Well, have fun everyone! Great to see this RP continuing. If anyone has ANY gripe about this post of mine, PLEASE say something about it, even if it is something minor, because I have a feeling this is going to conflict with someones ideas, so Ive purposely written it in a way that I feel I can tweak it if necessary, so its no big deal for me to change anything okay?

Alrighty, hope to hear more soon!

(OOC: Right, that does it...I'm quitting Real Life for good and immersing myself in RPs for all eternity!

Sorry for the delay (once again :"> )...I know I said I'd post yesterday, but life can kick you in the butt sometimes. Anywho I'm back now...for how long I don't know, but I'm back at least^^

In other news: Hey Eclipse is back! Kinda good...I was thinking about what to do with Wraith and Myst, but playing Lucent is still majorly tough for me cause he's such an enigma XD

Anyway, enough ado...back to the story!)

Downtown Area

"I don't know!" retorted Slayd angrily. "Tails is dead...died a long time ago, and I've never met that Wraith guy! Even if I had I wouldn't tell you!"

Frost's face remained stick in it's almost sadistic grin, but his voice suddenly became much colder as he muttered "Wrong answer!" He reached forward with a hand, aiming for Slayd's neck to grab him...

"Wraith and Foxy?" Everyone in the area stopped and looked round at DeLougere, raising their eyebrows. Asher dived forward, trying to cover the rabbit's mouth, but he wasn't quick enough. "Maxy's gone looking for Wraith, and the foxy went with him." DeLougere murmured, grinning. He was promptly bowled over by Asher's advance, but the damage had been done!

"Is that so?" muttered Frost, his head turning back to Slayd on the floor in front of him. "And I suppose you witnessed none if this?"

Slayd suddenly lashed out with his foot, trying to catch Frost's leg and trip him up, but the hedgehog had been prepared! Quick as lightning, he stepped out of the way, then lunged forward with a powerful kick...

There was a sickening CRACK as Slayd's neck was jerked round at a grotesque angle. His hands fell to the floor, lifeless.

"You know what's good for you you'll all stay perfectly still!" Frost continued, pointing a finger towards the other three threateningly, then his finger slowly drifted over to DeLougere, who was still lay on the floor. "And you...start talking...now."

"You make biggie biggie explosion?" asked the rabbit, looking up at him questioningly.

Frost was momentarily taken aback. "What?" He glanced over his shoulder at the still burning truck, then looked back down at DeLougere, frowning. "Yeah...what's it to you?"

"Me likey explosions!" exclaimed DeLougere, jumping to his feet and hopping from one foot to the other excitedly. "Big explosions! Big big booms!"

Frost was staring at him bemused. Slowly he shook his head, an incredulous grin on his face. "Okay...tell me what I want to know and I'll help you make some more explosions. I'll help you destroy all sorts of things!" His grin widened as he saw the rabbit's eyes widen in awe...

St. Kindlesburys Hospital: Outside

"What's someone doing inside there???" grunted Max as he hid behind a dumpster in the alley. "This we didn't expect!"

They had been approaching the hospital nonchallantly, thinking it deserted, until David's sensitive ears had picked up the shout over the large distance. They had dived for cover, but it was too late...they'd been seen!

"Now they know we're out here!" muttered Tails, peeping round the corner of the alley and looking out at the delapidated hospital. "What do we do now?"

"We don't have enough info..." muttered Max. "There's obviously more than one person in there...whoever was shouting was shouting to someone, but who are they?"

"I am detecting a number of lifesigns in the building." interjected David, using his scanners to search the area. "It would appear we have stumbled upon the hideout of another street gang."

"And that would explain Wraith's reluctance to have us involved." Max mused. "He wouldn't want to start a gang war or anything."

"I count a total of 15 people." updated David. Tails looked round, his expression confused.

"That all? Wraith would normally be able to take care of that many alone! Besides, if it's such a small-time gang, why would he not want us to come get him? We would be able to capture them with minimal casualties!"

Max nodded. "You're right...something doesn't click." he muttered. "Plus that building's a cracking place for a hideout. I can't believe that a bigger gang wouldn't have come and ousted them from it yet." He was quiet for a while, thinking, then he looked up, fixing his eyes on Tails.

"Hey kid...you used to fly Sonic around places in the past, right? Carry him while you flew?"

Tails blinked. "Yeah, I did...why?"

"Think you could carry me?"

The kitsune looked him up and down a moment thoughtfully, then nodded. "You look a little heavier than Sonic, but I think I could carry you some way."

"Okay here's what I'm thinking." continued Max. "They've seen us now...they'll be ready. They'll be on the lookout for us coming from any of these sidestreets and heading towards their base...but what if we didn't come from the streets? What if we flew onto the roof and worked down, rather than from the floor up?"

David's plastic features creased into a grin. "An excellent plan, sir! They would be watching the floor, not the sky, so we could infiltrate undetected!"

"That's good for us, but what about him?" asked Tails, pointing at the android. "He's too heavy to carry."

David's head swiveled round mechanicly and his blue eyes fixed on the fox. "Do not concern yourself about me. I will be able to jump from the roof of one of the surrounding buildings to join you." he continued, smiling. "My legs are powerful enough to cover the distance, and my construction strong enough to withstand the impact."

"Great!" exclaimed Max, nodding. "Okay, we'll give it a try, but remember everyone, be really careful! We want no deaths here, and ideally we don't want anyone knowing which gang is involved too, for fear of retaliation. Find Wraith and get him out...that's all!"

St. Kindlesburys Hospital: Inside

She probably knew it wasn't about him. He had tried to focus it on him, mainly to protect Ari. What if Myst couldn't really be trusted? What if she was really relating everything to Lucent secretly? If it got out that Wraith knew Ari, her life could be in dan...in more danger!

But surely she'd suspect something? Even though he had related it to him by saying "What will he do to me?", she'd surely suspect something was up.

But then...Lucent going after Sacchio and Morgaine...might Myst be telling the truth, and not be telling him? And...could that really be the reason Ari had left...?

He thought back to the note she had left...

Dear Wraith...

Please don't come looking for me. I have things to do that I must do alone. I'm sorry for leaving like this, but I know what you'd say. Please forgive me...

In time, if all goes well, I may be able to come back. If not, please don't worry for me...

Things that must be done...alone...?

Ari...how could you...?

It was like a light flashing on in his head, so bright that he was blinded!

For the first time in his entire life, he bent his head down...

...and wept...

...bitterly...

Ari...what have you done? This isn't what we're fighting for! Revenge is not a motive!

She knew that! She was fighting for the same ideals as all of them! And yet now she had let her feelings consume her...her anger at the twins get the better of her...

She had gone, putting her life in danger and allying with one of the most dangerous criminals on the streets, for a cuse that was wrong, evil!

He wiped his eyes with his gloved hands, his breath irregular as he fought back the tears."Ari..." he murmured out loud. "Ari no...this...this isn't right!"

It was one of his worst nightmares...

Sacchio and Morgaine, Lucent, the most dangerous figures in Station Square, coming together in what could only be described as a cataclysmic battle...

And as if that wasn't enough, Ari, poor, deluded Ari, stuck right in the middle of them!

He had to intervine, for the safety of the whole city!

He had to stop it and arrest the leaders, for justice!

And he had to save her life...for love!

He was startled as Myst came bursting through the door towards him.

Whats going on? he asked

Myst caught her breath, Were under attack, I saw a gang thug and what looks like a combat mecha out there!

He opened his mouth in shock. "A what???"

"Yeah, I know!" exclaimed the bat as she quickly rushed around the desk and up to him. She paused for a moment, noticing the dark stains under his eyes, but now wasn't the time. "We need to find somewhere safe!"

"Myst, we need to go to Sacchio and Morgaine's hideout." muttered Wraith, his head down, steeling himself for whatever reaction she may give.

She opened her eyes wide. "What??? But...Lucent...we can't go anywhere! Besides, there's going to be a big battle there in a short while!"

"I know!" Wraith retorted, yanking on the controls of the wheelchair and spinning to face her. "We need to stop it! Goodness knows what it will mean for the city! Think of the llives that could be lost!"

Myst looked down at the floornodding slowly. "You...you're right...but..."

"And think of Lucent!" Wraith pressed. "If this battle starts, he could be killed too!"

Myst's eyes were beginning to water too, and Wraith could see the emotion in her face...real emotion...real pain.

He knew he could trust her. "Besides," he continued, "I've found out that Lucent has joined forces witha friend of mine...a...a very close friend."

Myst's eyes focused on Wraith's face again. So that was why he had been crying!

"Everything hinges on this, Myst." muttered Wraith. "Lucent's life, Ari's life, the future of Station Square...maybe even the future of the world! We have to go there and make sure Justice is done!"

Myst nodded and bit her lip. "You're right." she murmured quietly. "But you can't go in your condition...besides, the attack...!"

Wraith grabbed the arms of the wheelchair and carefully pushed himself up onto his feet, making sure not to put his weight on his bad leg at first. Once stood, a little shakily, without support, he carefully leaned over, putting more and more weight onto his injured knee.

It gave, and he dropped, grabbing hold of the table to stop himself from hitting the floor. Myst, looking on, jumped forward, hands outstreached to help him, but he raised a hand, making her stop. Slowly, surely, he began to raise himself again, once again putting weight on his injured knee.

It stung like nothing he'd ever felt before, but he gritted his teeth and ignored it. "I'll survive." he muttered in responce to Myst's statement. "And as for the attack...let's see what we can do."

"You want revenge also, don't you?" muttered Azieral, looking at Arista pointedly.

"I'm not stupid enough to get myself killed for it!" muttered the vixen, raising an eyebrow.

Azieral nodded, apparently somewhat reassured. "That Eagle is the wild card." she murmured, looking at the scene in front of them again. "Who's side is he on, and what's he going to do in all this? I think we'd be best taking care of him, then moving on to help Lucent."

Ari was watching as well, but she shook her head. "No, I'm not so sure. He just seems caught in the middle here...he's obviously not on Sacchio and Morgaine's side. Maybe he's an ally?"

"Can we take that risk?" replied the spider quietly.

"Right now I think the bigger "risk" is Morgaine...where is she? The twins rarely split up! I think she may be on the scene shortly, and Lucent, powerful as he may be, can't fight both of them together!"

Azieral brought one of her many hands to her chin, thinking.

"Besides," continued Ari darkly. "Lucent has claimed Sacchio for himself, but I want my revenge on one of them too, as you said!"

While the conversation was going on, the scene on the beach was heating up!

"You know I've been looking forward to seeing you again, my dear friend." called Sachio, staring at the bat through narrow eyes. "I'd just love to hear how you survived the fire in the building! Give me a moment with my new friend here and I'd be happy to have a pow-wow with you...in more ways than one!"

"Oh so I'm relegated to second place now am I?" growled Lucent, lowering his hand and beginning to step forward along the beach.

Sachio grinned. "Of course, you aren't worth first, you know."

Sword, meanwhile, had picked himself up and was looking from one to the other as they spoke, in apparent interest. This was quite a show...!

(OOC: lol anyone noticed how posts here seem to be steadily getting longer and longer? Oh well XD )

She stood completely still, her breathing low and shallow, trying her best to, although already being fairly hidden, to try and make her presence now be absolutely invisible. It was not that she was afraid, far from it, but it was just that she didnt want to make herself in the inevitable battle before her. At least, not just yet, if need be.

Instead, she wanted to see how matters would proceed before her ultimate intervention. Lucent. Sachio. And an eagle.

They were the main players on the beach before her. And out of all of them, the eagle concerned her the most. She didnt know who he was. She didnt know what his capabilities were. She didnt know what his aims were.

And he wasnt on her hit list. He would prove to no doubt be an undesired intervening act. But in what way would prove no doubt interesting.

Her eight eyes all shifted, focusing on the different players and the area around them. Keeping in check the battleground, and keeping a look out for all possibilities. Lucent was an idiot, charging into the forefront like that. And so was the girl beside her. Although she hadnt made her presence none already, she was leading her life and her battle through her emotions. Her raw, blinding anger at Sachio and Morgraine. It would no doubt cost her her life.

The best form of strategy in a battle is intelligence. Hanging back, like this, was supporting that. But being next to Arista still wasnt.

Azieral shuffled a little, two of her eyes focusing on another nearby piece of covering, a short distance away from what she was currently using. Those two eyes narrowed slightly, and then Azieral moved, shifted. In a blink of an eye, she was now behind her new covering. Everyone who could have potentially seen it; wouldnt have. Instead, they would have been concentrating on the scene primarily on the beach.

Arista had of course seen her, but she wasnt of utter importance to Azieral. She wasnt a threat. Instead, Arista momentarily took her eyes off the beach scene and looked to Azieral. Her face was one filled of confusion. She mouthed, without actually speaking, the easily readable lines of What are you doing?

Azieral simply looked back at Arista without blinking. Such an expression was unsettling. Splitting up. Giving ourselves better vantage; the she spider mouthed back. Whether Arista was able to understand the relatively complicated speech was unknown.

Foolish girl. Azieral thought to herself. However, the same could be said for myself

Cityscape

Two groups. They had split up into two groups. One, of the larger majority, heading further down the cityscape towards a hotel in the distance. Another, comprised solely of three people, two of which he knew, and the other not, going by their selves towards the hotel as well, but focusing on a route closer to the beach. It was this smaller group he was interested in.

Trey backed away from the edge of the top of the building. He had scaled it after he had found himself much closer to the group then originally anticipated. They had stopped, and the only way of being able to safely gauge from a distance the Nocturnes next movements was from the top of the nearby building. This way, the wind would help prevent the Nocturnes either hearing or being able to smell him, and it also gave ample opportunity to see where they went.

As for why the group had split up, Trey didnt know. And he didnt care either, it just made his life much more simpler that they did so. But either way, both groups were headed for that hotel near the beach. Yet why?

By the time Trey had scaled down the interior of the building again, the Nocturnes had left. But regardless, Trey would be able to track their scent still. He had been working on a foul stench belonging to the group (although he and the others wouldnt realize it, this stench did in fact belong to the one and only Plugg), and now, although that stench had gone in a separate way, he would be able to work on Lucents and Aristas.

He had unfinished business. Business he would attend to, and make sure to complete, soon. Business with a capital L.

OOC:damn this thing has progressed very quickly, i little quicker than i had expected it to. i was goning to make a post earlier today but i got caught up in other stuff (being Star Trek Voyager on DVD :nn; i only watched 8 episodes *innocent look* with each being almost an hour :^^ ). guess that was a bad idea, in terms of the RP at least. anywayz ill make a post tomorrow. im guessing by everyones posts that i should make Swords intentions known eh? should be able to advance the scene a little better then. great stuff by the way this situation is very interesting. Lucent turned up a little earlier than i thought he would, as did everyone else, but unexpected events is what makes this more interesting ne?

apart from that, as i said before, ill make a post tomorrow.

Sword was beginning to get annoyed. This was the best lead he had had thus far in being able to contact a dealer. Now another incident had arsine hat would likely cause a major set back. This Sachio was obviously the more bravado of the twins, or rather it would be difficult for the other to be any more arrogant, so it was perhaps best if he waited for the other twin to show up. This bat after all seemed to have his heart set on Sachio. The well-being of either of the two held little importance, after all this was just another battle in the never ending gang wars. If they wished to eliminate each other so be it, however this confrontation proved an obstacle. If only this damn bat had waited another five minutes. Then this fight would have held no importance to Sword what so ever.

Sword began scanning his surroundings, moving only his eyes so as to ensure the others did not notice, not that he would have needed to move much anyway, behind him was open ocean. If this bat did come alone this far into the twins territory with the intention of killing Sachio he must have a death wish. With both Sachio and Lienna, and the prospect of Morgaine following soon, it would be almost certain that he had others here as backup. Unfortunately the waves, the seagulls and the annoying cowering noises made by the two overlander were too loud, masking any potential sounds created by a group nearby or approaching. Most likely the reason Lucent remained undetected by Sword until he had shown himself as well. The beach was a tactical nightmare, highly exposed, noisy, however anybody hiding would have a limited choice of cover.

Humph. Well then, in response to your earlier question, there, a blur of a figure dashing past and opening, Sword furrowed his brow slightly and, suspicions affirmed, looked directly at Sachio, neither.

I happen to be here on business, though your friend here seems a little, impatient, said Sword bitterly.

By the way, you must have been too preoccupied or too stupid to realise,

WHAT!! Sachio interrupted, eyes flaring in anger as he quickly advanced.

but you have a person intent on killing you this far inside your territory. Do you really think he be stupid enough to come alone?

OOC: ooo Swords started to get pissed. A rare event ^^. O btw, just for reference Swords senses are as follows:
Hearing is good
Eyesight is incredible (what can I say, hes an eagle ^^)
Almost non existent sense of smell

OOC2: WAA!! Sorry Ben, I just read your OOC. UmmIll post this up anyway but if that last bit interferes too much with what you had just tell me and ill delete it. The rest doesnt really change anything, just gives people an idea why Sword is there and his view on the situation. STAR TREK VOYAGER IS TEH AWESOMENESS!!!

OOC3: bah! i forgot about the explosion as well :annoyed o well :nn;

OOC: It's great to see you back James! :) Glad you're well! Was actually thinking about some of the tough times you were having and was thinking 'God, wish I was as strong as him... hope he's hanging in there.'
You kicked off with a great post! I had all this OOC saying this ready, in the library, but ended up not posting cos some girl just chatted away to me for like... 2 hours... and I was like 'Okay, seriously... I need to print this out before the....'
*bing bong bing* 'we have an announcement to make, the library is now closing.'
Me: ARGH!

Anyway, the new accommodation is TONS better. So glad to be rid of those swine landlords from the last place! I'll save that story for another time ;)

8 episodes... of 'Star Trek Voyager'? =____= ugh, just ugh.
I think I'd rather press flowers!

Don't apologise! It's great to have seen more of Sword of course, and it should work well with the post I wrote last night. Tally ho!

OOC2: uhm, great. The format of my writing has come out a bit crappy.

IC:

The Beach

Sachio narrowed his eyes at Sword, before casting a slow but
reflective gaze upon everyone around him.

"Is it just me Sachio? Or are you becoming preddy popular?" Lienna, blinking rapidly as she was slightly taken aback after Lucent's comet attack. Not expecting an answer, she quickly applied some eyeshadow and frantically got out her mirror to check if the startlement affected her appearance.

Shaking his head rapidly to rid his hair of all the grains of sand, Sachio straightened up as he stared atthe panorama before him.

Sachio grinned- partially in shock at the spontaneity of the new arrivals with some hateful familiars within his sight- but grinned nonetheless. He found the gathering, and to an extent the odds of himsucceeding against all his adversaries hilarious. But how twisted anyone may have found this. Was he not concerned after all that, despite the fear, the dominance or bother any sort his name carried, that this would drive the stake into his life once and for all?

In front of him stood that eagle who was of yet, an enigma. There was of course, the two cowardly overlanders who had accompanied him. And then, there was an assassin like spider nearby, who looked calm and stealthy in her manner- definately one to be wary of.
He opened his mouth slightly, almost about to snarl as he subconciously wanted to test the reaction of the eagle-
getting to know his enemy through even the most subtle hints as it were. The winged creature, however, witheld
any advances or emotions, as he had done as of yet so far.

Sachio suddenly raised his eyebrows, and smirked in a nod as he made eye contact with someone very familiar to him.
Arista the Vixen. She blinked at first, tempted to look away as the sadistic hedgehog's look sickened her. But she
swallowed hard and maintained a stare- letting her anger and her need for revenge dominate her.
She was staring at one of the cold-hearted, cruel murderers after all. One of the stone-souled killers- who mercilessly
took her parents life. And how the anger prevailed all these years- knowing he was still alive, and almost
reaching boiling point as she saw this disgusting smug creature standing in front of her right now. Not a bloody care in the world.

If expressions could speak words, Sachio shook his head in her direction, as if to simply say 'you're no threat to me.'
Breaking off his gaze with her, he turned his attention to the Notorious Lucent, leader of the Nocturnes. The one he
could have sworn he killed in an explosive incident his sister tried to set up whilst he attempted to severely weaken Lucent.
Lucent held an unreadable expression, as his eyes fell only upon Sachio- without even batting an eyelid.

"Got my phone ready if you need a few calls down." Lienna spoke out.

"Oh HOW tactful! The Sachio... the Master of the 'Renegade masters'.... always calling his guard dogs for protection..." Lucent spat in the sand, gradually strolling towards Sachio with his raw fists swinging about.
"How truely BLOODY pathetic!"

Sachio's eyes hardened, as he was about to answer that bastard of a blue bat back, when he suddenly
noticed his eyes.
The resemblence.
They were cold and hardened in their aqua-like colour.

"Heh, I'll have you know, I killed some of your pooches today. When they went for a can of soda," Lucent
continued, before stopping as he towered over Sachio, and grinned so suddenly "killed them."
He rolled back on his toes and his heels to fluctuate his height and smirked at Sachio whilst he continued
speak condescendingly.
"...having said that, I do have a little more respect for them... than a puny little blue hedgehog who hides
out all the time. Behind the dogs. Or has his slightly older sister near by him all the time..." Lucent continued,
narrowing one eye and exposing a canine in a malicious grin "why don't you learn to grow up?" he said, barely
a whisper.

With that said, Sachio suddenly stared into those cold eyes once again-s and gritted his teeth in anger.

"I had no choice but to do that a long time ago..." Sachio declared in a vicious snarl . With that, he aimed a kick
towards Lucent's face- which made contact and sent him flying backwards with a deafning smack.

The hedgehog instantaneously turned around and made eye contact with both of the overlanders. They yelped at
first, thinking that they were going to be attacked at that very moment. They found themselves, however, suddenly
in a trance, and totally still and attentive as they stared back at Sachio.

'You. Attack the eagle,' he nodded towards the smaller overlander 'you attack the assassin and the Vixen.'
he spoke through their minds, causing the overlanders to nod at them.
He knew they might not be able to do much judging by their 'lack' of intelligence, and perhaps brute and strength.
However, the mind control to get them to combat a couple of enemies so as to distract them to get them out of
his hair might be enough for him to concentrate on his tougher adversaries.

The taller overlander thus ran in the direction towards Azieral and Arista, running with his fist outwards as he charged towards them.
.
The other overlander picked up one of the wooden signs out of the sand, with a few nails sticking out- and started swinging it in Sword's direction- ready to 'knock him out'.

Sachio began to laugh smugly, before crying out so suddenly when he felt a bolt of energy smack him at the back of his
spine.

"So you did put me ahead in the queue little punk?!" Lucent called out, standing above the wounded Sachio as he held out
a lit palm which had thrown one of his comets "that's better." he smirked.

Sachio turned his head to smile at the bat wildly.

"Because I feel sorry for you. Old man." he spoke up in gradual tones.

Lucent's expression exploded in that instant into a rageful one, causing him to simualtaneously yank out his spiked chain and to whiplash Sachio's back into shreds.
The blue and lavender hedgehog, however, swiftly rolled out of the way- just missing the cutting motion of the chain which cratered the sand and sent it flying everywhere.

As Sachio stood up tall, before giving Lucent a cold stare of attitude- he slowly brought down a palm, which slowly ignited a bright, white and pink light.

"I am the future. Prepare to die."
With that, Sachio through his fists back- and cast a deadly sphere of Chaos Nightmare which came hurdling in Lucent's
direction.

Downtown

Angela wanted to scream, as she observed the next set of brutal actions. Her heart skipped a beat and her throat tightened as she observed Slayd mercilessly kicked to a critical degree. And like a rag doll, he fell to the ground. Lifeless.
Her eyes watered slightly, as she desperately tried to hold them in, which made her throat hurt more. She wanted to maintain a brave front- and also feared that any extreme emotion in front of this extreme psycho hog might provoke some further brutality.
'No. No. No... not a Neo-freedom fighter... no.' she though, fighting back the tears '...why?!'
But then, she couldn't take it any longer.
She moved slightly, hesitating as she looked at Frost for a split nano-second- before rushing to Slayd's aid- checking to see if he was alive or not.

Frost barely frowned. He knew the weakness of emotions. As long as she wasn't a threat as of yet, right now...

Asher was of similiar emotion. Except he stood there frozen.
He desperately wanted to rush to Slayd's aid, to check if he was still alive. But what if he was made to end up in a similiar punishment? It wasn't that he cared more about his life. But he had to be around to protect his sister at least...

"So. Speak then," Frost said, addressing Delougere, before casting a set of guardful eyes over the twins, in case they were to try anything quick.

"The foxy! The foxy... with two tails. He's been staying with us. Yeah. He was in the warehouse which is about 10 miles from here, towards the end of Turner street. Yeah, that was the name..."

"DELOUGERE!" Asher hissed, in the process of grabbing Delougere's neck, before finding his shoulder gripped by Frost.

Angela suddenly looked up from her kneeling position, warily.

"Don't discourage him!" Frost barked, pushing him away "if him, or any of you waste ANY more of my time with any incoherent, mindless prattle or sheer inconveniences... you all die now!"

Asher stared back, a mixture of fear, anger, and disbelief as he oberseved the stoned-hearted hedgehog threaten everyone's innocence and to take advantage of Delougere's mentality.

"Anyway. You're on a roll," Frost said, hitting Delougere on the back in an encouraging manner, but caused the rabbit to cough.
"... and what about Wraith?"

"Wraith... Wraith... Wraith..."

As Delougere continued to repeat the name over and over again, Frost's expression immediatly darkened.

"Wraith ran away. He's mad cos his girlfriend Arista joined the Team Nocturnes. He he he he he he...."

Frost's expression suddenly conveyed that of surprise and intrigue. He remembered what he had also been asked to do as well as seek those two individuals. He was also advised to overthrow a gang which was becoming a possible threat. The Nocturnes.
He had to admit that it delighted him that these mishaps, according to this Wraith individual and certain complications from what he was hearing made him gloat and it made him think that from what was happening so far, things would ultimately be a lot easier in the long run.

"Thank you, you crazed hare!" Frost sniggered "nice to meet someone with some compliance for a change..."

Asher stared at the ground, shocked and bitter that this situation had turned out for the worst.

Frost picked up a piece of hard metal, which once used to a component of the truck. He handed it over to Delougere and smiled.

"If you really want the biggest bang, you ever want to see in your life..." Frost mused as he put an arm around Delougere's shoulder so as to guide his eyes "hit that oil canister over there, the one that fell out the truck. The contact of oil with fire will be positively explosive..."

Delougere eagerly rushed in that direction, bringing the pole over his shoulder, ready to whack the oil containing canister.

Frost smiled fakely as he watched the rabbit run off, before turning around muttering 'loser' under his breath. He stared at the twins, and the fallen Slayd, before smiling ever so subtly.

"You can pick your friends- but lose the liabilities," Frost said, not only talking about the wounded Slayd, (or possibly dead), who would delay the twins' escape, but also Delougere who was inevitably about to kill them all.

Before Frost could be subjected to that situation, however, he immediatly spindashed from the spot- dissappearing in a glittery wavepattern as he evacuated the danger zone.

(OOC: A small thought about your last post, Ben...I thought Ari and Az were still hidden from view to the others o.O Ari was planning to stay undercover and wait to see if Mogaine showed up anyway. How did Sachio know she was there...?)

OOC: I'm assuming it must be an accidental mistake then, and that Ben misunderstood and believed both Azieral and Arista were out in the open?

As it is, though, they both should still be hiding.

OOC: Okay, well ideally I just wanted to get everyone involved, seeing as the danger with such scenes would be leaving people out.

I guess I made an error by overeading, for which I apologise, but I'll leave you with the option of either wanting to partake after all, or me editting my whole post.
I guess I didn't really envision where anyone could hide on a beach.

Really, don't get me wrong but I can't even think how I would bring Morgaine in if I was to rearrange the whole thing.

The latter will in that case won't be done until the end of this week, I guruantee you as I have an exam tomorrow, going out on Wendesday, have clinicls 9-5pm on Thursday, then maybe Friday I'm free.

(OOC: Np Ben, I'm not saying "Bring Morgaine in here" or anything...don't worry about that. I'm just saying Ari is waiting for her to come in...wether she does or not is up to you.

That being said, Ari, whilest wanting revenge, is still sane, and so wouldn't give up the advantage of a hiding place without a good reason.

I'm not trying to get at you or anything...please don't think that I am^^ I understand your point about there not being much cover on a beach, but I figured they were hidden behind a pile of sand or a tide-breaker.

And don't worry too much about leaving Ari out^^ It's more in-character for her to take things slow and carefully, and I'll be sure to let her see some of the action as he situation and her character permits :)

EDIT IN to save spamming OOCs: True Pach...I'd be quite fine with Sachio sencing their prescence and attacking them (or getting someone else to). It was just Ari revealing herself of her own accord that was a little out-of-character, that's all^^

Maybe he detects Ari, then descovers Az as Ari is being attacked...or Az could even stau undercover permanently if you'd prefare, yeah.

I'm easy with that explanation^^ Let me know what we're going for and I'll go along :) )

OOC: Hmm. Given the situation as it lies, Az would still be hidden because as it stands all three of her original targets are likely to get severely injured in this upcoming fight; why reveal herself when she could easily wait for a more opportune moment to strike? As it stands I wouldn't mind the character not doing something for a while.

But, also, as it is I don't mind having my character revealed to save Ben from having to edit her post. I'm sure there's quite a reasonable argument for why Sachio would know Ari's there at least, he can control Chaos Energy, and so it would be reasonable to sense the Emerald that she has. Im willing to have Azieral found out if Wraith is to have Ari revealed, thus saving the need for an edit?

But either way, Im fine with any outcome.

No no no, you didn't. Abseloutly not ^^;
Darn it, the momentum was happening there for a minute...

At the time though, I have to confess I thought 'right, long post, hopefully it's okay, sorted' *copies and paste*
Then it was like, I got all these goggly 'o.o'/'er... Ben'/'I pressume Ben...' OOC comments, and then I was like
'Oh for God's sake. Long post for nothing. Ungrateful buggers.'
Don't worry though, all said in jest ^^;. It was my fault for being forgetful, and it would just be so much more handy to have, like I keep going on about, net at home.

OOC: YAY!!! looks like we might be moving again.

Ben you dont really need to make a new post for that bit, we just need a quick explaination of how Sachio found out they were there (which could include the comment made by Sword if you wanna make things easier) or possibly changing it so Azieral and Arista are still hidden and the overlanders both attack Sword or something to that effect. But if ya wanna make a new post dats k00l ^^V i like readin your stuff. . . well actually i like readin everyone posts, otherwise i dont think i would have stuck around :nn;

Not sure if this is how you join, but here goes....
Any help is appreciated.

Name:Jet Kabochan
Age:18
Gender:Male
Species:For the sake of the RP, I'll call him a weasel.
Weapon (if any):No weapons right now.
Abilities:He is very fast and strong. His 5 senses are extremely sensative as well. He also has some special abilities, but he isn't sure of how to use them at all.
Hobbies:Jet likes spending time with his girlfriend Amanda the most. He's really active too so he likes to run and do sports too. Especially soccer and basketball.
Quirks:He's very different from other weasels for many reasons. To start off with, he only sleeps every 10 days, and when he does sleep it's for only 12 hours during the day.
As mentioned earlier, he has special abilities that he can't use effectivly at all yet. They occasionally come out in the form of energy balsts when he throws a fit or sometimes when he's not even angry about anything. He doesn't know why that happens either.
Finally, he can't remember a thing from before he turned 8 years old. The fist thing he remembers is a building on the outskirts of a city, and a man in a white lab coat telling him to leave the place immediatly.
Background:He doesn't know anything from his first 8 years of life and he wants to know why!He somehow aquired quite a few enemies too, he doesn't know why, but assumes it's linked to those forgotten years. He's on a search to discover what happened to him that caused him to forget such a large portion of his life and make so many enemies.
Motif if this RP (if needed):
Link to picture of character (if one):www.deviantart.com/view/26858791/
This is just a scribble! I'll do a better pic in time.

OOC: *looks at ezboard's quick reply thing* *gets confused* @_@ *grabs Brent's Star Trek DVD's and throws them in an organ grinder*

... everything is hurting my head lately, but I guess I just have to sort out this nitty gritty, and now!

Welcome to the mofo Jet K!
The profile's intrigueging and I love the character's design there.
You are of course, more than welcome to join the RP. The only thing is that, it might be a little bit diffecult if you haven't read the whole RP, and don't know the story as of yet. However, you might be able to get by without it- but I don't know.
If you have any questions about anything at all, feel free to ask.
Have you ever rped before by the way? And if so, on a board format or chat?
Sorry to make all these assumptions, just trying to help ^^;
If you can get back to me on some of this, I'll think of what I can do next time I post.

NOW

Read the new post. I have copied and pasted, but editted as I saw fit. Ari and Az are hidden, and their whereabouts are unknown to Sachio.
It should also be noted that there is a new ending to that scenario.
Frost's post is the same, but I copied and pasted anyway.

Sachio grinned- partially in shock at the spontaneity of Lucent's arrival- a hateful familiar. Despite the fact that his life may be in danger, he found it hilarious. Surely this bat didn't think he stood a chance?!

In front of him stood that eagle who was of yet, an enigma. There was of course, the two cowardly overlanders who had accompanied him. He opened his mouth slightly, almost about to snarl as he subconciously wanted to test the reaction of the eagle- getting to know his enemy through even the most subtle hints as it were. The winged creature, however, witheld any advances or emotions, as he had done as of yet so far.

Sachio's eyes hardened, as he was about to answer that bastard of a blue bat back, when he suddenly noticed his eyes.
The resemblence.
They were cold and hardened in their aqua-like colour.

"Heh, I'll have you know, I killed some of your pooches today. When they went for a can of soda," Lucent continued, before stopping as he towered over Sachio, and grinned so suddenly "killed them."
He rolled back on his toes and his heels to fluctuate his height and smirked at Sachio whilst he continued speak condescendingly.
"...having said that, I do have a little more respect for them... than a puny little blue hedgehog who hides out all the time. Behind the dogs. Or has his slightly older sister near by him all the time..." Lucent continued, narrowing one eye and exposing a canine in a malicious grin "why don't you learn to grow up?" he said, barely a whisper.

With that said, Sachio suddenly stared into those cold eyes once again- and gritted his teeth in anger.

"I had no choice but to do that a long time ago..." Sachio declared in a vicious snarl . With that, he aimed a kick towards Lucent's face- which made contact and sent him flying backwards with a deafning smack.

The hedgehog instantaneously turned around and made eye contact with both of the overlanders. They yelped at first, thinking that they were going to be attacked at that very moment. They found themselves, however, suddenly in a trance, and totally still and attentive as they stared back at Sachio.

'You two. Attack the eagle,' he nodded, speaking through their minds.

He knew they might not be able to do much judging by their 'lack' of intelligence, and perhaps brute and strength. However, the mind control to get them to combat the eagle would at least get him out of his hair for the timebeing, whilst he could deal with Lucent.

One of the overlanders picked up one of the wooden signs out of the sand, with a few nails sticking out- and started swinging it in Sword's direction- ready to 'knock him out'. The other simply ran dumbly as he tried to catch up with his 'partner in crime'.

With that, Sachio through his fists back- and cast a deadly sphere of Chaos Nightmare which came hurdling in Lucent's
direction.

Lucent instantaneously jumped back to one side as the globe of high-discharging, bright white energy came hurdling in his direction. Instead of sending himself crashing down into the sand so clumsily though, which may have rendered him vulnerable, he was able to backflip to the side swiftly.

As he straightened up and dusted his hands, he held an unphased gaze as he watched the sphere of energy hurdling towards to water. The chaos nightmare shot eventually smacked the surface of the water and caused a small tsunami effect against some rocks.

Lucent turned around, maintaining that rock-hard expression and unimpressed expression as he gazed at Sachio.
"That move didn't get me the first time, and it didn't get me this time, genius!" he spat "most of us are bright enough to learn from our first mistakes!"

Before Lucent could continue on his derrogative rant, however, his eyes suddenly widened, before he found himself hurdled upwards into the air. The world a sudden twist and disjointed panorama before his eyes. His vision then blackened, before a lead-pounding thump was felt against his spine- accompanied by the fact that he found himself flat on his back.
He groaned slightly, still totally confused as to what happened.
The surprise... and the pain!

"Who's to say this mistake wasn't intentionally?" said a snide, little femme-like voice, followed by a snap which sounded like the crack of a whip.

As Lucent slowly opened his eyes- everything made sense within half a second. Morgaine had somehow sneaked up upon Lucent, thrown the whip against his ankle which knotted comfortably, hurled him into the air and let him fall flat on his back.

"He's got a point though, Sachio. Your moves are too predictable. Let me finish him off..." Morgaine announced, ready to run in and deal Lucent a very nasty lash across his body.

OOC: I didn't notice the OOC edit by Wraith at all, otherwise I would have replied earlier and thus roll with what Ben had originally wrote. o.o

But it's a fine edit anyway and I think we should stay with it now. Thanks for the change, Ben!

Downtown

He had arrived moments too late, and just missed the fact that Frost had been down in the area. He wouldnt be able to express such anger or disappointment of yet, as he unaware that Frost had been there at all. In all, it was a narrow miss.

The twins could barely hear the humming of the approaching vehicle over their own thoughts and grievances and the roaring flame before them (which would only continue to intensify), until he had finally arrived, the motorcycle stopping, and his loud booming shout addressing both of them.

Alright. What the hell happened here?! Did you create this?! Who are you!?! the voice interrupted their thoughts.

Angela slowly, and shaking turned her head to face the G.U.N Commander, Warrick. And although she was looking straight at him, she was still having difficulty. Asher, on the other hand, was quick to defend himself and his sister.

Im Asher, and this is Angela. We just came to investigate it ourselves, and found this psychotic hedgehog Asher had started, but was interrupted.

Hedgehog?! Warrick said, his thoughts quick to judge to Frost. Frost?!

Asher was taken aback with further shock. This man knew that monster? What if he was in league with him?!

Asher jumped back and drew his sword from his sheath. Before, he had been taken aback by complete fear to even consider doing it, but this time, he had to! For his sister!

Warrick frowned.

Put the toy away, before I render it and you useless to be even thinking about it. Warrick replied, his tone deathly serious and his expression cold. It wasnt as cold as Frosts, but it was still menacing enough.

No! I wont let anyone hurt my sister! Asher shouted back.

Warrick hesitated, and looked down to the knelt down Angela, who was beside the seemingly lifeless Slayde. From the way Slayde looked like, it was most probably the work of Frost himself. No one else could have been that brutal. It was logical then, that Frost and these people wouldnt have been working together, then.

Where did he go? Warrick said, his only concern now being Frost. Gone was the possible concern that Asher or Angela were members of a gang that only helped contribute to the violence in the city, replaced now with a far more important priority.

Asher hesitated. If he was to tell this man where Frost was heading, he would be revealing the location of the Neo Freedom Fighters base as well!

who are you? Angela spoke up, surprising both Asher and Warrick. Can you help my friend?

Commander Warrick of G.U.N. Ill be able to radio in for assistance and a clean up group for this mess he said, pointing to the burning embers. It was only then that Asher remembered another important factor linked into the immediate fates.

Delougre! he shouted, turning to look for the rabbit.

Delougre?! Warricks thoughts shouted. But theres only one man I know thatd be called-

Sure enough, the name belonged to an insane rabbit that had broken out of the insane asylum, someone who should have stayed there a long time, given his fancy for high powered explosives. The fact that he was here was not-

BOOM!

A loud explosion rocketed the area and the fireball threatened to engulf all of the group, before the wind favourably picked the fire up and deflected it up, narrowly missing the group but leaving noticeable scorch marks on the ground, a reminder of how lucky they were.

During the explosion, several other, even smaller explosive occurred within the main explosion, enforcing it further still and making the damage more spread. This was in turn a result of Delougres own personal explosives blowing up as the rabbit was consumed by the blast. He had suffered a fate of his own idiocy and insane arsenic love.

was he with you?! Warrick shouted over the thundering booms of explosions and as he shielded his face with his arms from the blinding light and flickering flames.

Well Asher could only respond. It would be a long story, and they didnt have the time

Well explain it all later, trust me! Angela shouted. She didnt have the time nor patience to deal with this! Im sure you could deal with information, right? Just get some help for my friend, please!

Warrick slowly nodded, before turning back to look at his motorcycle. Thankfully, that had been spared from the explosion by being just far enough away from the huge explosions.

Consider it done. And Frost? Warrick said, seating on the motorcycle and pulling a small communications device from the compartment with which he would radio to the headquarters of this situation.

Angela sighed. G.U.N they were supposed to be the good guys. But even then, they found it difficult to be able judge between there being good gangs and bad gangs. It was just black and white to them, G.U.N was good, the gangs were not. No grey areas. And so, by telling the location of the Neo Freedom Fighter base, he would in effect be dooming the heroic group.

But by not telling him, the group was doomed to Frost anyway!

Someone else made the decision.

A warehouse which is about 10 miles from here, towards the end of Turner street. We have friends there, good people. Frosts after them. Angela spoke.

Warrick nodded, and then radioed into the headquarters. In a matter of moments he had left, following Frosts trail that had been given to him by Angela.

All Angela and Asher could now do was wait for the G.U.N retrieval Squad, and hope that there was still something that could be done for Slayd, and that the Neo Freedom Fighters would pull through.

The Beach

The battle had begun, but either way, Azieral wouldnt make herself noticed now. No, instead she would stay and wait, see what the adversaries would make of each other first before she did anything.

However, that said, the arrival of Morgraine sparked a definite interest in Azieral. What would Arista do?

Thanks! I'm gonna read as much as I can. For now though, I'll just start out with something simple. I've RP'd in a chat room thing, but never an actual board. Thanks again. I'll try to keep it interesting. Oh yeah! Do I have to make a profile for each and every character I want to use? Just asking for future refferance.^^;

THE LIBRARY
============================================================
It has been years since anyone has entered the doors of this building.
Ever since the catastrophe with ARK, it has fallen into disrepair. Everything is covered in a thick coating of dust and cobwebs.
There are computers, but the network is destroyed so even if they do work, no information can be retrieved from it.
In a small area amoung the many, many dusty bookshelves is a group of large tables and chairs.
There is also one working floorlamp pulled up next to a spot on the table with a large stack of old newspapers strewn about.
There is a rather rough looking weasel sorting through every single one of them. Jet comes to libraries often. Every moment he can spare is spent here. Searching for clues to his lost 8 years of life.
He poured through the papers when suddenly an old headline from 10 years ago caught his eye.

"SCIENCE LAB SHUT DOWN AFTER DECADES OF ILLEGAL OPERATIONS!"

He paused staring at the article, and thought for a moment.
"This one may be helpful."

Then he's distracted by something. His ears perked up as there are two distinct sounds in the vicinity: someone running frantcally and breathing heavily, and a machine of some kind.

He then puts the papers into a backpack he brought with and leaves the table to try to investigate.

He didn't get far before a small brown creature with large bird-like wings and a ferret like body ran up to him in a panic.

"JET!! We gotta go man! We've got company!" he declared while flailing frantically.

"What?" He replied while glancing around the rather large room.

"It's GUN! One of their sentry Beetle drones has found us! Even worse: IT"S EQUIPED WITH A RAPID FIREING RIFEL!"

Jet looked around for a moment,"Crap! They're getting better!" He said as he grabbed Techs arm and ducked behind a bookshelf.

After peeking out from behind the bookshelf, he turned to Tech. "Listen up. I need you to get these papers out of here safely."

Tech gave him a frightened and at the same time confused look. He cocked his head slightly. "Whu-What?"

"This is very important!"
Jet then started arranging the paper in his bag so they fit better. He then looked at Tech and noticed he was shaking.

"What do I do!?" He exclaimed in a frightened voice.

Jet motioned with his arms for him to calm down as the Beetle drew ever closer to the room. He handed him the bookbag full of papers.

"There's a window in the back of the room." He then pointed to the back of the large room.
"I need you to get to that window and go over to Black Bird Harbor and stay there until I come for you!"
He quickly checked for the Beetle again.
"We'll meet there and go over to Amandas place when it's safe! GET GOING! I'll keep the Beetle busy!"

"Uh..Uh, Right!" Tech darted off towards the back of the room weaving through bookshelves until he reached the window.

Just as Tech was about to fly out the window, the Beetle entered the room.

"Oh no!" After a quick glance around, Jet grabbed a book and threw it off in another direction to distract it.
While the Beetle went off to investigate the noise, Tech quickly jumped out the window and flew off.

Even though the Beetle is distracted, Jet can't be sure about leaving his hiding place yet. The exit was on the other side of the room. He'd risk being seen. It wouldn't be a problem, but Beetles react quickly and can begin firing in a split second.

*What do I do here? If I just dart out of here I'll be seen for sure. It'll start shooting too.*

After scanning the room he noticed that the bookshelves are very close together. Then he thought for a moment.

"Hmm.... Well. It's worth a shot!

He knocked over a shelf next to him causing a chain reaction that topples many shelves until finally, one of the shelves pinned the Beetle on the floor underneath it.

The Beetle can't move, but it can still shoot. He decides to try and sneak by it by jumping over its feild of view as he passes it. He can't destroy it. That would give GUN even more of a reason to chase him down. After getting past he runs down the hallway being very careful as to search for more Beetles. In an unusual stroke of luck, there was only one this time.

BLACK BIRD HARBOR
*The Boating House*
============================================================
Tech stands near a dock waiting for Jet. Wondering what could be taking him so long.
"Man I HATE IT when this happens! Where's Jet? He shouldn't be taking so long." He said with a slight hint of worry in his voice.

Suddenly he heard a group enter the boatshouse. He hid in a boat under the tarp covering it.
============================================================

OOC: I thought I'd leave it open so people can have some fun with it. I hope no one minds. I'll change it though if you want me to.
I think I fixed thr writting style for good now. Thanks for the help everyone! I think I get how you write here now.
I think it will do.

(OOC: Hey Jet man^^ Welcome to the RP and indeed to the MoFo overall :thumbsup

Post looks good IMO...one observation I would make is on board RPs many people generally prefare to add in a story style:

He looked around slowly. "Yeah I think so." he muttered under his breath.

Rather than a textboard style:

(name) looks around slowly. (name): "Yeah I think so."

But that's just an observation^^

And Ben, yeah everything looks fine with that post...as I said I hope I didn't make things tough for you or anything? If you'd have prefared we could have had Sachio detect Ari somehow, and I hope I didn't force you to bring in Morgaine too. As I said, Ari was just waiting to see if she appeared...not nessecerily forcing her to appear.

But anywho, enough chat...)

IC:

It didn't supprise her in the slightest...those two were rarely seen apart.

Ari drew her gun from her belt and primed it slowly, making sure it didn't make too much noise. She glanced across at Azerial, who was eyeing her carefully with two of her eight eyes. "You ready?" she mouthed.

The spider shook her head slightly. Ari was taken aback for a moment. She had thought they were going to attack together! She jerked a thumb in the direction of the gathering, raising her eyebrows, but Azerial just shook her head again.

Fine...she was too much of a coward to come out, that was her problem. Let Lucent deal with her when he realises the backup he brought along wasn't following orders! At least she'd do as she was told...well, not actually "told", but...

"He's got a point though, Sachio. Your moves are too predictable. Let me finish him off..." Morgaine announced, ready to run in and deal Lucent a very nasty lash across his body. With a deft flick of her wrist, the long tendril of the whip washed backwards, draping over her shoulder...

BANG! A puff of sand flicked up at her feet, making her, and everyone else in the area, jump! She span round, her face a mixture of shock and anger.

"Not while I'm around!" Arista proclaimed, slowly stepping round the tidebreaker she had been hiding behind, gun raised at Morgaine's head. "This is where things start to go wrong for you two."

Sachio looked down at Lucent, raising an eyebrow. "I'm impressed, batboy...who's the broad?"

"You should recognise me, Sachio!" retorted Arista, still advancing slowly. "You spent enough time trying to sneak past your sister into my room!"

The hedgehog's head flicked round to Ari again. "You what?" Before he could continue, though, Morgaine interrupted him.

"I remember you...!" she murmured, a sly smile spreading across her face like syrup on a flat table. "You're the poor little baby who actually managed to elude us aren't you! Now what was your name...?"

"Arista Leyenne." replied Ari, her eyes cold and hard. "Daughter of Arik and Starion Layenne...two poor, innocent civillians who were captured, tortured and murdered by heartless savages, because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time!" She finally stopped moving just a few meters away from the assembled group. "It's time the two of you payed for your crimes!"

Lucent, who had for the moment been watching Ari's entrance, suddenly took advantage of the distraction, lashing out with his leg and kicking Sachio to the floor! The hedgehog spluttered as he tasted sand, before rolling out of the way and jumping to his feet again.

"Lucent, keep him buisy!" exclaimed Ari as the bat jumped to his feet himself. "I'll take her!"

Morgaine was still wearing her sly, toothy grin. "Oh, come on dear...how do you intend to do that if you can't even hit me when I have my back turned?"

"I wanted your attention." retorted the vixen, eyeing her coldly. "I wanted you to see who it was that brought you down before you died!"

Morgaine nodded slowly. "Fascinating...but big mistake." Quick as a flash, her whip arced round, coiling around the barrel of Ari's gun with a SNAP. Shocked, Ari froze for a moment, unsure of what to do!

A moment was enough. With another deft flick from Morgaine, the gun was wrenched from her hands, going flying into the air and landing in the sand a long way down the beach! Morgaine turned back to Ari, her grin getting wider. "Okay little one...let's see if you can "take" me without your peashooter!"

I'm sorry. I guess I just don't quit understand. Did you need me to change something? If so. Just say the word. Thanks for the welcome. This should be a lot of fun.

Oh yeah. I colored that pic as promised. You can see it here if you're bored.

(OOC: I'm good with you leaving your last post as is...I understood it and everything^^ All I would say is it's something to consider for future posts. That being said, of course, the final decision would be up to Ben, since she's the leader of the RP.

I just tend to find story RPs a little easier to read than chat RPs, but as I said that's just me^^ We'll see what Ben and everyone else says too. Other than that, your character looks cool and I can't wait for Wraith to meet him!^^

OOC: Welcome Jet! Whats that? Confused? Ah, quite alright, feel free to ask questions whenever you like, it is how we learn after all.

What Wraith was saying about the writing style, was that Roleplay posts should typically be written in a part tense, as if you were writing a storybook.

So rather than type:
Suddenly he hears a group enter the boatshouse.

You should type:
He suddenly heard a group enter the boatshouse.

Just a slight little change in writing style there Jet, no need to alter your previous post though. The reason we tend to prefer past-tense storybook style of writing here is mainly because it tends to be the most widely used style here, and for continuity purposes we like it to stay this way. Personally I just like the feeling of reading past tense writing, purely because when I read up on the RP, it is like reading one large novel written by many authors with unique language and style.

To answer your question, you only need to write profiles for 'main characters' characters that you will most commonly play as. Take Wraith for example, he wrote a profile for Wraith the Echidna, but not one for characters like Max, who are merely sub-ordinates and are not played as much, even though max is starting to become somewhat of a main character now ;P sometimes you don't have to write profiles at all, you can keep all information concerning a character secrect and reveal them as the story progresses if you like. But keep in mind that for main characters, a profile is a handy way of helping everyone to familiarise with them.

Also, another little RP tip, dont forget to write: OOC when you are speaking Out Of Character (like now, I am speaking out of character) and type: IC before you speak In Character. This avoids confusion. Excellent picture of Jet by the way, that colouring job is fantastic, really brought that sketch of yours to life! You can bet Ill be commenting on that when I get a chance. :D

Oh, and Bentleee you are SO gonna get it now! ;P I hope everyone gets a little rush of excitement with this next bit Im about to write.

WARNING! LONG POST BECAUSE I REALLY WANTED TO MAKE THIS INTERESTING!

IC:

The Beach - BattleZone

Morgaine turned back to Ari, her grin getting wider. "Okay little one...let's see if you can "take" me without your peashooter!"

Sachio spat out a bit of sand before he too turned to face his opponent, Lucent. Sachios eyes were locked into a malicious stare as his mouth soon twisted to match his expression, ironically almost identical to his sister.

Arista recoiled back as her gun was snatched from her. It wasnt that much of a shock to be forced to fight unarmed, as she had done so many times before in the past, but what was indeed shocking was the fact that she was unarmed against those that had killed her parents, those that she has wanted revenge upon for so long, those that have been labelled as being possibly the most powerful beings within the city. It was re-assuring to know that Lucent would no-doubt use whatever means necessary to keep Sachio attention all to himself, but the fact that Morgaine was armed with a weapon against an unarmed vixen made her feel somewhat uneasy, even more than one would imagine seeing as that weapon had a decent range, and Morgaine had already proven to be quite proficient in using it.

This was it, this battle meant everything. This was what Arista had fought for what seemed like her whole life, or at least all of her new life. Quite sad that one should fight for so long, only to achieve the rights to yet another fight.

Arista blinked as a thought sparked in her brain, as she remembered that she wasnt completely unarmed at all, she still had her five-inch dagger. Needless to say, Arista drew her blade swiftly as she stood ready to attack.

The twins stepped aside form each other as they each eyed their opponents.

Lucent kept his gaze on Arista, she didnt actually think of taking on an opponent with a lengthy whip using only a simple dagger did she? Under the circumstance of a street thug wielding a whip, that would be plausible, Lucent however knew first hand just how painfully precise Morgaine was with her weapon, she could just as easily throw that small blade of Aristas a fair distance, and then the vixen would be in trouble.

Lucents eyes darted to Sachio, he was unarmed, and would most definitely be using a combination of fist-fighting and his strange magic. The bats gaze then turned down to his own weapon, the dreaded spiked chain that had been the end of many unfortunate adversaries, ironically it could be called the chain that broke gang links, as it had often been the end of gang leaders and lackeys alike. To employ such a weapon against Sachio would only be fitting, a death like all the others, meaningless, the ultimate insult. As it stood, Lucents mind was in an odd form of strife, of course it would be tactically efficient to battle Sachio with the chain, but would it really be a victory worth achieving? Lucent had never fought an opponent who wielded magic of sorts before he met Sachio. To kill others who did not wield magic using the chain would be still a victory worth telling, a victory that was achieved by inflicting great agony onto his opponent, but to beat Sachio with the chain as well as magical skill would be nothing great, surely it would be more widely feared if it was to be heard that Lucent beat Sachio as an equal, using bare fists, magic and ingenuity? One could call this a strange sense of honour, although Lucent would most likely call it otherwise.

Lucent almost smiled as he loosened his grip on his weapon, best it be put to better use. Arista almost jumped as she nervously caught something metallic in her grasp, she actually did jump once she realised what it was.

Lucen- she started.

Lucent took some steps away from her with his eyes fixed on Sachio as he spoke back to Arista, While I dont doubt your abilities with that blade, trust me when I say that my chain will serve you better against your opponent.

Sachio hesitantly turned on the spot next to his sister, his gaze following Lucents. Arista looked again at the weapon in her hand, her dagger in the other. This weapon was crude in nature, but there was this strange grandeur about it, perhaps prestige seeing as the weapon was that of Lucent, leader of the notorious Nocturnes gang.

Whats the matter? taunted Morgaine as she stretched her whip with her hands, Frozen in fear? Or maybe you have a death wish?

Arista almost growled at Morgaine as she put her dagger aside and wielded the chain with two hands, subconsciously taking care not to place her hands over the spikes, Keep dreaming, monster!

Lucent glanced over his shoulder at Arista for a moment before returning his gaze to Sachio, something about Aristas bloodlust stirred something inside him. He felt repelled, almost shocked at her ravenous display, almost as if knowing that he himself was just as bloodthirsty made him feel bad. Lucent shook away the thought as he shot Sachio a sly grin, Well boy, how about we start growing up a little and step away from sister shall we? with that he leaped backward and skipped backwards. Sachio growled in anger and rolled into a ball, spin-dashing after Lucent.

heh, keep him busy muttered Lucent as Sachio chased after him. When there was enough distance, Lucent stopped and got into a fighting stance. Sachio continued spin dashing and picked up speed as he did so, aiming to bowl Lucent over! Sand kicked up and cascaded down in a shape like birds wings as Sachio rolled along the ground at an intense speed that only seemed to be increasing.

Lucent couldnt react in time as Sachio became faster than expected, spinning up to Lucent at an insane speed and then stopping abruptly in front of him, uncurling and delivering an upwards kick straight to the jaw, all in one fluid motion.

Lucent closed his eyes as he sailed through the air, a trail of red streaming from his mouth and painting his flight path as he did so. Expecting to hit the ground, Lucent kept his eyes shut to prevent sand from getting in, but Sachio had other plans.

With a small moment of malicious grinning, Sachio dashed toward Lucents landing estimated landing position and curled up again, spinning at an even more intense speed, so fast that he remained on the spot and merely kicked sand around wildly.

Lucent landed right on the spinning sphere of blades that was Sachio and felt the stinging pain of Hedgehog spines grinding into his back and one of his wings. Lucent opened his eyes, his pupils widened and his mouth opened to scream in pain, though he got no chance to scream as he soon found himself thrown forward onto his stomach a fair distance away as Sachio flipped up from his spin and threw Lucent with a kick straight to his badly grazed back.

Lucent landed with a thump and sand kicked up, painfully landing on the cuts on his back, now exposed by his shredded vest, one of his wings had also taken some damage, well, some further damage and was now bleeding along the webbing, with more shreds of loose skin added to the collection.

A mixture of Sand and blood sat on Sachios spines and the ground around him. He looked almost feral as he cackled maniacally at Lucents bloodied form a short distance from him. Whos a helpless child now, huh? he taunted, unaware of whether Lucent was conscious or not to hear him, Hahaha! Youve got a lot of blood in you for an old man, but Ill make sure I get it all outta you!

Lucent groaned as he opened his eyes, his vision was slightly blurred but soon focused. Unfortunately, his most acute sense at the moment was his sense of feeling, and the sting of his wounds and the sand within them was ever-obvious. He stretched a palm to the ground as he picked himself up, almost falling over as a sharp ache rippled across his whole back.

Sachio took delight in seeing Lucent struggle to stand, he laughed you cant even stand up straight! You really are a senile old fossil arent you? And to think that from what I hear youre just in your twenties! Some people age terribly dont they Lucy?

Lucent kept his head bowed down as he finally stood up straight with his back to Sachio, he could feel the blood dripping down his body, mixing itself with the sand and becoming irritatingly clotted in some areas of his back. Somehow, he was able to muster a wicked grin and raised his head to look over his shoulder at Sachio.

Sachios expression faded as he observed Lucents odd behaviour. Lucent chuckled a husky chuckle as he turned to completely face Sachio, Youve got a lot to learn about those that wield the very forces of existence. He spat out some sand mixed with saliva before continuing, With those that wield the magic of old, age brings power.

Sachio shrugged and replied snidely, heh, say whatever makes you feel better gramps, old or not he curled into a ball again and bulleted toward Lucent, -this is your last day!

Lucent tried his best to focus on Sachio and correctly estimate the time of collision between him and himself, but once again he reacted too slowly, Sachio moving at a pace too fast for his eyes to follow. His consequences came in the form of a spinning windmill kick that knocked Lucent to the side, causing him to tumble along the sand, gathering yet more sand onto his wounds. The searing pain became almost unbearable and Lucent briefly in pain as he lay on his back, struggling to get up.

Sachio looked over his shoulder at Lucent and shook his head, almost in disbelief, oh come ON! Is this all I have to do? Dont come all this way and then make this so easy for me. He casually began to stroll toward his stationary opponent, Sure I want to kill you, but I want to make you suffer first! How am I supposed to have some fun if you just shrivel up and die after a few little slaps?

He stopped in front of his opponent and looked down onto him, Lucents eyes were closed, his hands were by his side, and he was breathing heavily. Sachio frowned and then spat onto Lucents forehead, youre pathetic.

In what seemed like a flash of lightning, Lucents cold eyes shot open and a palm was brought to Sachios chest. I think you know what comes next murmured Lucent as his hand began to glow

Svarminus Paralia! A flash of light blue and white preceded a figure of lavender and blue sailing through the air in an arc, backwards.

Sachio grunted as he hit the ground with a mighty thump, his back sunk into the sand, embedding himself into the beach. His back ached from the landing, but more so his chest felt a mighty bludgeon, his ribcage almost felt like it was closing in on his heart for a moment when the comet first collided with him. He opened his eyes and slowly got up from his crater, he hoped none of his ribs were broken.

As his gaze lifted, he saw Lucents figure standing crookedly from a distance, heaving breaths. Lucent grinned as he slowly advanced upon Sachio, Not bad for an old man, wouldnt you say so? And you taunt me for getting hit by the same move twice, have you forgotten the last time you got cocky and I blasted you?

Sachio gritted his teeth and snarled as he remembered, this same thing happened when he had first attempted to kill Lucent, he had let his guard down within that old building and approached Lucent, who then reacted swiftly and delivered a blast to the chest, knocking Sachio out through a glass window.

Shut up! shouted Sachio and he got up and in a blind fury, charged at Lucent again in a spin dash, this time racing circles around Lucent before jumping up and landing a diving kick straight onto Lucents scalp, causing him to stumble backwards. Sachio heaved in some breath as his pupils shrank and his teeth gritted, Ill rip you apart!

Before Lucent could regain his focus, Sachio had already simply ran up to him quickly and proceeded to deliver multiple kicks and punches across Lucents body. Sachio finished his brutal assault with a heavy-swung punch that caused Lucent to pound into the sand beside him.

Sachio stepped back slowly as he tried to calm down, he began to feel his fists throb from his wild frenzy. He surprised himself with his recklessness, and his attention broke away from Lucent as the red haze began to clear and his breath slowly returned to normal.

Lucent could feel bruises forming and blood coursing from his mouth and pervious wounds. He shakily stood himself back up and spat out a mouthful of blood, along with what looked like a piece of a tooth. Sachio looked up at him and got into a fighting stance. Lucent stood straight, although felt the pain of doing so. He looked calm, but that was merely an illusion, for inside his mind was racing for tactics, some way of matching his actions to Sachios speed, a speed that his eyes failed to keep up with but then again, Lucents eyes were not his most acute sensors. Thats when his idea formed.

Reaching for his left knee, Lucent untied that red bandana that he kept there, brushed off some sand, and tied it around his eyes. Sachio watched but then snapped out of it as he decided not to hesitate, he curled up, and span at full speed once again

As he came within a metre, Lucents ears pricked up and the bat swiftly sidestepped to avoid the collision, Sachio raised only to unexpectedly deliver a roundhouse kick to the air. His head turned to face Lucent and the first thing he saw was a black boot head straight for his nose.

Sachio recoiled and stepped backward upon receiving the blow, feeling a throb inside his nose as blood began to poor down from it, painting the sand before him. Lucent stood in a fighting stance, not facing Sachio. My eyes are now shielded from the sand said Lucent in a husky whisper, You arent so fortunate.

Sachio shook his head as he angrily replied, Youre as good as blind that way old man!

true, but Im betting I can hear better than you. Lucent then startled Sachio as his head turned directly to face his position.

Lucent raised both hands and the began to glow that familiar glow, Travalia Levitus!

Sachio sidestepped to dodge a blast but instead saw the ground at his feet beginning to glow blue. He cart wheeled backwards to get off the glowing ground and then laughed at Lucent, HA! Way too slo-

He was cut off as the spell took its effect, the force of gravity upon that illuminated area of ground was warped by the magic, changed to repulse rather than attract, causing a large volcano-like burst of sand to be flung upwards into the air, inevitably, a portion of it hitting Sachio and getting in his eyes.

Sachio growled in pain as the sand hit his eyes and seemingly blinded him. He still felt sand falling on him and onto the ground when he also felt the pain of a fist colliding with his arm, and a whoosh as a figure rushed past him, undoubtedly Lucent.

Lucents tactic was to keep Sachio blinded by sand, and also cover his own eyes to protect form sand, effectively blinding them both. The catch however, was that Lucents advantage was his hearing, in such close quarters as a melee battle, Lucent could always hear the actions of his opponent, despite ambient noise in the background. Through this means, Lucent would listen for his opponent and land attacks based on the sounds that he could hear, relying on his hearing to fight rather than his eyesight, an ability that was more finely attuned within himself than within Sachio.

Sachio cursed out aloud as he realised what Lucent was doing. Painfully, he opened his eyes and let them water, letting the sand sting at the cost of being able to see, even if his vision was still hazy. Svarminus Paralia!

Sachio jumped to the side, not actually seeing where the blast was headed but still trying to avoid it. His estimations were wrong as the blast was not aimed at him, but rather the sand before him, colliding and sending a spray of yet more sand into his eyes. Sachio screamed as more sand hit his eyes, and he stumbled backwards, his hands cupped over his face as if to prevent more sand from hitting him. Lucent heard the scream and once again raced up to Sachio, unleashing two punches and a backwards kick to the chest, causing Sachio to fall backward and roll.

DAMN YOU! screamed Sachio as he flipped up onto his feet out of reflex. He frantically wiped sand out of his eyes and kept them shielded, but this proved futile as Lucent still seized the opportunity and rushed up to him, spinning along the ground with his feet, tripping Sachio over and then delivering a kick to the side of the downed hedgehogs leg.

Lucent aimed a palm down at the estimated location of his opponent and quickly yelled out the incarnation, Svarminus Paralia! Sachio reacted in time and spin dashed away in a random direction, his sight failed him.

Sachio soon regretted his chosen path as he rolled over what he felt like a piece of sharp metal debris from the beach, which left a nasty long cut across one of his spines. He got up quickly and brushed off his eyes again, his sight had reached a level that was good enough to make out his opponents location at least now.

Lucents head quickly turned to face Sachios general direction as he followed the sounds of what could be described as a screeching tyre on sand. Sachio tried not to make any noise as he stood on the spot and tried to come up with a strategy

---

OOC: Yup, Lucents bringing out the tactics again ;P I already had an idea for how Sachio could counter Lucents tactic, but I really want to see what Ben can come up with! And in case you are wondering, my idea isnt simply Sachio trying not to make any noise. Think harder people!

St.Kindlesburys hospital - Inside

Wraiths leg stung like nothing he'd ever felt before, but he gritted his teeth and ignored it. "I'll survive." he muttered in response to Myst's statement. "And as for the attack...let's see what we can do."

Myst looked on in awe as Wraith just put his mind to it, and stood up, denying her medical analysis completely. She had estimated that he would take in the least, a week to heal enough to walk again, but here right in front of her a miracle happened.

Y-You... Youre standing! exclaimed Myst, still in shock.

Wraith kept a serious expression and addressed her again, Myst, please.

oh, sorry. Replied Myst sheepishly, I didnt mean to stall. Whatre we going to do?

Is there another exit besides the front thats still useable? said Wraith in a calculative tone.

Myst nodded, yes, there are, but the closest other one from here is-

Take me there, and arm yourself. Were going to scope around the building and get a better look at our opponents, most likely they are prowling around looking for an entrance, the front would be the most likely place for a street gang to barge in so thats why were not going out through there.

Myst took his hand and rushed toward the door she spoke of, but stopped as she felt Wraith tug on her arm.

easy, easy! said Wraith while holding in pain, I cant run yet

ah, sorry. My bad dear.

The pair reached the door eventually, and along the way Wraith got adjusted to walking, even though it was still very painful. Myst had offered to bring Wraith his wheelchair numerous times, but his answer was the same every time.

Myst slowly opened the door, and Wraith stood by with his fists at the ready. Myst was armed with a scalpel that she picked up off a tray she had left forgetfully on a desk, the scalpel wasnt clean, but it wasnt like that mattered considering its current use.

The stale alleyway air filled the nostrils of the pair as they cautiously crept along the sides of the building, looking around and listening for these attackers.

Wraith began to limp to a nearby alleyway entrance and signalled for Myst to follow. As the two kept creeping around the alleys, Myst eventually caught sight of something and signalled Wraith over to her. As Wraith arrived, all he saw was a mechanical leg disappear into a building window atop a fire-escape.

Wraith! whispered Myst as she pointed up in the air in the direction of the hospital. She saw what looked like two mobians, one was flying and the other was being carried by the flyer, but her vision was not unlike that of all bats.

Whats that flying toward the base? Can you make it out? I cant.

Before Wraith could get a good look, something whooshed above their heads. It seems that from the rooftop of the building that mechanical thing had climbed into to, the very same mechanical being (presumably) had jumped onto the next rooftop, and it sounded like it was doing so repeatedly toward the base.

Myst yelped and stepped toward Wraith, What was that thing? she panicked.

OOC: Well there we have it, my post! I took long enough I know, but I didnt post earlier because I was unsure of whether to continue or not until the whole Arista and Azieral were/werent seen thing, which was no biggie really but it would have changed my post greatly. After that issue was solved, I was glad to see everyone progressing things so well, but I myself wasnt sure how I wanted to continue, even though Lucent and Myst were both in very serious situations. It only struck me today what I would have them do, Lucent in particular. Thus, I took the time and wrote my post today. I hope everyone enjoyed it, and that it was to everyones liking in terms of progression, as always if there are any problems with my post in any way then dont feel bad about telling me, I dont mind changing parts of it.

Well, looking forward to seeing everyones characters scramble! Hope to hear from you all soon!

OOC: I think everyone else have summed it up already very nicely! Welcome Jet, and the advice that everyone has given is very good! That being of the story styled writing and the past tense form.

Jet already seems like an awesome character and the coloured picture you completed of him is amazing! The shading in particular is absolutely incredible. Well done! :D

And other peoples IC posts have been amazing as well! The actions very intense and itll be interesting to see what happens next!

OOC: oooo good stuff Wraith and James. and WELCOME JET K!!! good to get somebody else on the scene ^^. (im relatively new meself :nn; so i no what you feel like atm :lol . looks at number of posts... *cries*). nice first post as well. just a tip, try and get them involved at some point with other characters coz others have droppped out of this as they did not get very involved with anyone and did not no what to do with their characters. otherwise, looking good :thumbsup . anywayz on with the IC.

IC:
The hedgehog instantaneously turned around and made eye contact with both of the overlanders. They yelped at first, thinking that they were going to be attacked at that very moment. They found themselves, however, suddenly in a trance, and totally still and attentive as they stared back at Sachio.

Sword tilted his head, pondering this. This sudden change was, queer, to say the least. Something was up.

He didnt have to wait long to find out what. A second later both overlanders turned to face Sword. One of them picked up one of the wooden signs out of the sand, with a few nails sticking out- and started swinging it in Sword's direction- ready to 'knock him out'. The other simply ran dumbly as he tried to catch up with his 'partner in crime'.

Humph. Mind control, Sword thought. This hedgehog has some interesting abilities.

The larger overlander raised the post with both hands and swung heavily at him. Sword dropped to the ground and delivered a low spin kick to the mans ankles. They came out from under him and he reached out to break his fall, only to be collected in the temple by a closed taloned foot as Sword followed through. He spun once in the air and landed on his back. Unconscious. The second overlander, still held by Sachios trance, charged, oblivious to what had just transpired. Sword merely sidestepped, leaving one leg outstretched to trip him as the man attempted a tackle. He fell flat on his face and was also met by a blow to the temple, rendering him both him and his comrade unconscious, but relatively uninjured.

Sword flicked his scarf over his shoulder and brushed himself off before turning to face the others on the beach.

So, Morgaine finally arrived as well, he thought to himself. One of the others has also shown herself. . . but that is not the figure I saw.

His eyes flicked over to the beach wall before returning to the scene in front of him.

Seems as though I may not have to intervene. That bat does not appear to be doing very well.

He turned once again to the beach wall, walking slowly toward the position he had spotted the figure, and leapt casually over it. The figure he had scene earlier had moved, obviously having noticed his approach, but a beach front held few hiding places and the closest cover nearby was a parking ticket booth that appeared to have been run over a couple of times. He headed toward it, keeping one eye on the booth itself and another on the confrontations nearby. Sachio and the bats face off was progressing quickly. He had recovered from Sachios first round of attacks, though worse for the wear, and had unleashed a magic attack that was unlike any chaos magic he had seen. He had now covered his own eyes with a red cloth, blinding himself.

Protecting his eyes and focusing on his hearing, hmm, the bat took his time exploiting his hearing advantage, but that is quite clever, Sword thought, furrowing his brow in annoyance once again. He also seems more powerful than I expected. More complications. Great

He stopped a metre from the ticket booth.

And what is your part in all this?

OOC: on the off chance theres any confusion the last line is being said to Azieral. I figured that it shouldnt be too hard to find somebody on or near a beach if you know they are there, considering the lack of hiding places on the average beach.

OOC: I'm working on how to get him involved. I actually think I figured out a way too. =P I'll post it when I read some more of the RP and get some more ideas as to where this is going. Thank you too BTW. ^^

OOC: Sorry if I appear to be getting at everyone with my last few OOC posts all. I assure you that isn't my intent, as I already mentioned to Ben, and the same to Jet too. I guess I'm just not very good at explaining myself. Hope I haven't upset anyone accidentally.

And I actually had an idea how we could bring Jet in too, that I was gonna instigate in my next post, but if Jet has an idea already I may see what he has first, so as not to tread on his toes accidentally. Jet if you wanna discuss ideas, feel free to PM me, otherwise post what you have and I'll post accordingly.

Little buisy atm, but IC soon^^)

OOC: Oh wow, can't wait to read this caboodle ^^. I'm going to save it on CD, read it at home, and then come back with a post. Just to let you know, as I'm sure no one would want another prolonged halt. 8o

Well, I have just skimmed through OOC's. So I don't know if I have a right to make this :nn;

Wraith, don't apologise! It's all worked out well for the better. I'm glad Morgaine was brought in like that. Have to admit the whip was a random idea XD.

I'm sorry things halted. It was all bad timing. I was very absorbed IRL as well, and I couldn't face editting the post at the time. >>;

Jet, I haven't read your post yet. But I'm guessing you wrote it in present tense? No probs about editting it. *glances* Oh wait, you did.
I have skimmed through the OOC's and what people have said and they've said it brilliantly regarding the format of board rping and such. Better than I could have done by a long shot :)

Anyway, I should got before I make too many assumptions as to what's going on and what people are thinking/doing :insane . Just quickly wanted to say I'll get back with a post tomorrow. And an idea with how Jet can get involved? Is that the issue right now? :)

OOC: Jolly good! ^^ If I do have any brain waves, I'll contrebute.

Bad news... uhm, when I copied the posts, for some reason I only got Brent's and Jet's. So, I need to get the inbetweeners so I can read them properly. Plus I spent all day shopping in Leicester square with a friend. Random plan- but who can resist the sales.

Your post is really good Jet! I think you've adapted to the board format quite well actually.

No post now. Don't kill me!

OOC: I guess I need to get Jet to the beach so Wraith can post, so here goes. Hope I'm not annoying anyone. Kinda long too! ^^;

IC:
===========================================================

Jet managed to shake the beetle off his tail...for now. He knew that the machine would not take long to free itself.

As Jet was running on the road though, he felt a strange sense of calm. He loved to run. It reminded him of how things were before the disaster of ARK. Jet shook his head as if to rid himself of such thoughts. That was then, this is now. He had to find Tech.

As Jet continued running he headed for the beach, and ultimatly Black Bird Harbor. He was several miles away, but he could make the distance in a matter of a few minutes with his speed.

Jet suddenly stopped as he was certain he heard something.

"What the..."

He looked around a moment trying to listen but there was so much noise from the ocean he couldn't be sure. Then out of the corner of his vision he saw a rather dirty looking G.U.N. Beetle heading in his direction.

"So it finally caught up." He smirked, as he ran into an alley.

After a quick glance behind him to determine where the bugger was, he noticed a building with the window open on the third floor and a group of clothelines near it.

"Perfect!" he thought as he ran in the direction of the building.

The Beetle was pretty fast considering how far back the lirary was, but Jet knew exactlty how to shake it. He did this on an almost daily basis afterall!

Once Jet reached the building he went to the edge of the old brick wall peeking around a corner, and checked where the Beetle was. Ah! He had time then.

And with that, Jet took off his black leather gloves and drew out one inch long white claws on all his fingers. He quickly stuffed the gloves in an inside pocket on his coat and jumped up onto the wall digging into the brick about half an inch with his unusually strong claws. He began jumping back and forth between the building with the window and a bulding next to it. He basically performed a vertical "triangle jump."

(OOC: I'm sorry if I did a lousy job desribing it! X( )

Jet jumped back and forth until he finally landed on the roof of the building with the window. Once on the roof Jet removed his shoes and used the laces to tie them to a belt loop on the back of his jeans. The Beetle was slowly coming up. After a quick look around he found the clothesline still attached. As the Beetle finally found him again he simply gripped the line with his hands and broke it. He knew the line would snag in the pulley long enough for him to perform what he did next.

As the Beetle tried to lock in its target Jet jumped over the side still holding the broken line. When it snagged in the pulley it swung him into the open window where he let go of the line and was able to grab the ceiling and cling there just above the window by digging in his claws. The Beetle was to large to fit in the window, so it hovered around searching the room as best it could with a bright search light. Every muscle in Jet's body became tense as he tried to press himself closer to the ceiling waiting for it to leave. Once satisfied with it's unsuccesful search, it left. After waiting for a moment to be certain it was gone, Jet fell to the floor with a loud THUD and proceeded to put his shoes and gloves back on.

Pausing by the window Jet saw the Beetle heading back towards, the library, he assumed. Suddenly the whole building shook as a series of large explosions was heard about a block or two away. He didn't know that a certain crazy rabbit had caused it, but it wouldn't interest him anyway. Normally Jet wouldn't be bothered, but in such close proximity it hurt his sensative ears as he covered them with his hands. He decided he'd better go now.

"I better find Tech! This area is becoming more dangerous than normal!" He said to himself as he lept out the window and took off for the beach again.

===========================================================

THE BEACH/ BLACK BIRD HARBOR

Jet had reached the harbor and was about to go to the boat house when he noticed a group was standing around talking, there were two overlanders, a bat, a spider and a fox, he thought, 2 hedgehogs, an eagle and a porcupine.

(OOC: I can't remember if the porcupine is still there or not)

A little surprised at the sudden activity in the area, Jet very quietly snuck past the group as the fighting began. He knew that he could not get involved right now. He had to meet Tech. So he quickly made a run for the boat house located down the beach a ways from the fighting that had broken out.
===========================================================

OOC: Well I tried to tie into the events as best as I could remember. If I need to fix anything, don't hesitate to tell me.
Wraith, I hope that gives you something to use for your idea. Let me know I f I need to add or take away anything. Sorry for the long post too. =/

(OOC: lol as any of the others will tell you, Jet, long posts are the way we like it! Don't worry in the slightest!

And yeah, your post rawks! Nice work! Looks awesome!

So without further ado, let's continue^^)

IC:

Beach.

"So the little girl has all grown up!" crooned Morgaine as her and Airsta began to circle each other slowly. "Aw, I think I'm getting all emotional." Her voice dripped with sarcasm like a monsoon in a jungle. Ari considered shooting a retort back, but decided it wasn't worth it.

They circled for some time, each one waiting for the other to make the first move! It was nearly a full minute before Morgaine finally sighed impatiently.

"A little hint, dear, looks, however nasty, don't kill." Quick as a flash her whip lashed out, raking a canyon in the sand where Ari had been standing just a second before! Morgaine grinned again as Ari ducked down again coming out of the dodge, spinning round out of the way. "Fast...nice! Not good enough though." The whip lanced forward again!

This time Ari jumped, diving sideways to avoid the leather belt as it flashed past. The whip was a deadly weapon, and Morgaine was incredibly skilled, but it was ever so slightly slow. She had to be on her toes to the n'th degree, but provided she kept her eye on the whip hand, she should be able to dodge...

...and maybe do something else! Before Morgaine could flick the length of the weapon back towards her, Ari jabbed out a hand, grabbing hold of the leather hard. Leaning back, she quickly tugged it towards her, catching Morgaine off balance! The hedgehog staggered forward, to be met by a vicious knee to the chin! She fell back on the sand, a hand coming up to her mouth.

Ari wanted to dive forward with Lucent's chain...to try and take advantage of the situation and finish things now, but she didn't trust herself with the unusual weapon. She'd probably only end up leaving herself open to attack.

Morgaine jumped to her feet again, this time wearing an angry expression. "Cheeky." she muttered. "You won't pull that one again." Instantly the whip shot forward again!

Arista jumped backward, dodging the attack, but Morgaine quickly swung her hand back across, slashing the weapon horizontally once again! This one Ari hadn't been prepared for, and the whip caught her face with a sharp SNAP.

It stung...severely! The force of the blow knocked her to the floor, falling on her side in the sand, blood streaming from a nasty ragged cut above her eye! Morgaine pressed her advantage, and the whip arced across again, calving a deep scar in her back and tearing her clothes!

She yelped with pain as the whip slashed across yet again, only this time she was more prepared! As Morgaine flicked her wrist to attack again, she span round, lashing out with Lucent's chain at the hedgehog's legs! Morgaine saw it coming and managed to jump in time, following through with a powerful kick aimed at Arista's jaw, but Ari's Akkido training had prepared her for attacks like that! Feinting backwards, she grabbed Morgaine's ankle with her free hand and pulled hard, spinning as she did so!

Morgaine's face bore a look of astonishment as she found herself dragged forward, and she suddenly cried out as Ari's elbow embedded itself in her back near her kidneya!

Arista quickly rolled, jumping back up onto her feet and turning to face her attacker once again. Morgaine, slightly winded, stood up too, although a little slower as she got her breath back. Now her face was black as thunder!

"Okay, now you've really ticked me off!" Again the whip sliced forward, catching Ari unprepared! The blow slashed across her chest and shoulder, drawing more blood and slicing clean through one of the shoulder straps of her vest! Morgaine quickly swung again, pressing her advantage, only this time the whip caught Ari's outstreached arm, coiling around her wrist like a snake! For a split second, both fighters paused, looking into each other's eyes as they considered their options. Ari's face bore a look of shock and indecision, but Morgaine was grinning evily.

Suddenly the hedgehog pulled hard on the whip, twisting it in a circular motion. Ari screamed in pain as her wrist, bound up tight in a vice-like grip, snapped like a twig!

Morgaine wasn't done! She continued to pull, yanking Ari off her feet and sending her sprawling a good seven feet across the beach, sending sand flying in all directions!

Morgaine had too much leeway. That was what was wrong. The whip was a formidable weapon, and there was little hope of standing up to her while she had it. As Ari lay in the sand, shaking her head to try to clear the substance out of her eyes, she realied what she needed.

The whip was formidable, but it's weakness was space. It needed the room to be wielded, and if they were fighting in a more confined area, the tables may be very different! In the few seconds she had before Morgaine lifted the whip again, she quickly looked around, scanning for somewhere...anywhere...where she could run to, somewhere confined and cramped, where the whip would be unusable, but Lucent's smaller, shorter range chain could come into it's own...

Her eyes settles on an old abandoned boathouse some way down the beach.

That was it...that was where she needed to get to! Gritting her teeth against the pain of her broken wrist, she quickly reached down with her other hand to her belt, once again drawing her small dagger from it's shieth. In one quick, fluid movement, she slashed upwards with it, slicing through the end of the whip and chopping off the section that was wrapped around her wrist. Just in time! Morgaine once again yanked the whip backwards, hoping to drag her along the floor like a log!

Jumping to her feet again she shiethed her dagger, grabbed the chain in her hand and set off running towards the boathouse! Fortunately ht was her left wrist that had been broken...her right hand, which she used for her weapons, was still fine.

Behind her she heard Morgaine shouting. "Running away??? Just like you did before eh? You got away last time, but you aren't gonna do now!"

That's right. she thought as she ran. Keep thinking that...it'll make you follow me!

A little way down the beach, Lucent was listening for another attack from Sachio, when suddenly he felt a strainge, uncomfortable feeling in his chest...not quite pain...not yet anyway...but something nasty, and growing with every minute! He recognised it immeadeately...

His Chaos Emerald was moving away from him...

Hospital: Alleyways

Myst yelped and stepped toward Wraith, What was that thing? she panicked.

Wraith shook his head, bewildered. "I have no idea!" he replied, blinking. He had only caught a glimpse of the thing...the shock had nearly made him loose his balance with his injured knee, and he had had to look down to ensure his remaining upright. "Something...wierd..."

Myst looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. "Well whatever it was, it looks like it got onto the roof of the hospital! We'd better get back there now!" She set off towards the building again...had Wraith not been with her no doubt she would have run! Before she could get very far, though, she was stopped by a call from Wraith.

"Myst...wait."

She turned round to see him stood unmoving in the alley, a thoughtful expression on his face. How could he be stood still at a time like this??? "Come on, quick!"

Wraith raised his eyes to meet hers. "No." he replied curtly. "Maybe we shouldn't."

Myst's mouth opened in amazement. What was he saying???

"Myst, when I said we'd see what we could do, I ment with regard to getting outside. I thought we'd be under siege or something." Wraith held his arms out, gesturing to the alley around them. "We made it, and undetected too! We have to go!"

"Go where?" Myst retorted, a look of horror on her face.

"To Sachio and Morgaine's hideout. Like we said, it's too dangerous for us not to be there! We have to go and put an end to all this chaos now! We can't waste time!"

Myst was shaking her head slowly. "But...but the rest of the gang...they're under attack! We need to help them!"

Wraith took a step towards her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Myst, I know this may sound cold, but right now, we don't have time for them! Lucent, Sachio and Morgain and Ari are more important! If there was anything we could do, then I'd do it, but right now we have bigger fish to fry!"

"You can't just leave them! Who knows what that thing we saw was!"

"Gang warfare takes place every day Myst, and people are killed in it!" Wraith clenched his fists as he spoke, showing how tense he was. "I don't like it any more than you do, but we're talking about the greater good! If we stop this, we may stop a small skirmish. If we stop Lucent and the twins, we stop two of the biggest gangs from ever being a problem again! What's best for the city Ari...Myst???"

Myst's ears pricked up at his mistake, and her brow dipped. "So that's it!" she murmured quietly. "You don't care about everyone in there...all you care about is her, your friend! That's what this is about isn't it!"

Wraith brought his hands up to his face. "Oh, for goodness sake! Yes, yes of course I care for her! I can't deny it, but that isn't my only reason! We're talking about the safety of Station Square here, and by extention, all of Mobius!"

"But what about my friends???" retorted Myst, pointing an accusing finger at him. "What about the rest of the Noctournes in there? They are my friends! I want to protect them!"

"And so is Lucent!!!" barked Wraith, narrowing his eyes at her angrily. Myst paused at this, stepping back slightly. He had caught her off guard.

"Okay, fine." continued Wraith, exerting obvious effort to keep his voice down. "You don't want to believe my true motives, that's up to you, but at least reason using your own logic! Who means more to you right here, right now Myst? The rest of the Noctournes holed up in that hospital, or Lucent, off on a crazy mission against the twins?"

Myst's eyes drifted to the floor and her breathing became slightly staggered, as though holding back tears. "I...I..."

Wraith gritted his teeth. He didn't like what he had just said...it felt like emotional blackmail...especially when, looking back, he realised that she had been right. He had been thinking of Arista.

The arguments he put up afterwards were sound...even though he didn't like it, the greater good was to leave the Noctournes in their base to their fate, whatever that may be, and go after the gang leaders, but he had to admit, when he had initially suggested it, that hadn't been on his mind.

He also wanted to say something...to appologise to Myst somehow...and yet, to do so may make her insist on staying back or something rediculous like that...

What had the world come to, when even heroes and the good side had to resort to lying and subterfuge to acchive their ends, no matter how noble? He sighed, closing his eyes. Would his brother Knuckles have done what he had just done? Or Sonic...or Tails?

Tails...???

His eyes flicked open again as a thought suddenly occured to him. That flying shadow they had seen earlier, just before the mechanical thing. At the time he had taken it for a person with some kind of flying device on his back, but something hadn't sat right with him about that explanation.

How could he have been so blind??? Tails rarely flew Sonic much in the space of time he had known them, so he could be excused for forgetting Tails could carry people, but even so the silluhette should have been recognisable!!!

Could it have been...? And the figure underneath...and a mechanical...a robot...

"Oh dang." he muttered, looking back towards the hospital wide-eyed. "They'd better not...!"

Myst, still quiet, looked up. "What?"

"Myst, do you have a mobile phone? I need to know...right now!"

Hospital: Roof

David landed with a dull THUD on the flat roof of the hospital, curling into a kneeling position to absorb the impact. Tails raised his eyebrows as he set Max down on the floor. "That was incredible!" he exclaimed.

David looked up, a wide smile on his plastic features. "Thank you sir. Even though I was designed as a household assistant project, my basis in millitery technology has granted me..."

"Not now David." mumbled Max as he looked around the large roof. "We need a way in...let's try one of these skylights." He marched over to the closest skylight and knelt down nearby. "David, can you check if there's anyone underneath us here?"

"Checking." replied the robot, his blue eyes glazing over for a second as he accessed his sensors. "There is nobody in the immeadeate vicinity, however two of the signals have left the building and are in the alleyways to the front."

"Probably looking for us." muttered Tails, wiping his nose with a gloved hand.

"Less for us to worry abaou so long as they stay there for a bit." replied Max. "Okay, let's get this thing open."

THE BEACH
============================================================
Jet was a mere meter away from entering the boathouse.

"Uh! We can FINALLY get outta here!" He thought.

But that thought vanished when he realized one of the combatants, the vixen, was headed for the boathouse! Even worse! The hedgehog had followed her.

In a sudden panic Jet quickly ran behind the building. When the accoustics of the racket they were making told his ears they were inside he looked out from behind the building to see if the other fighters were coming too.

"Great! This day just went from annoying, to bad, and then to RIDICULOUS!!"

He then took off his gloves and shoes again to climb the building and get on the roof. He saw a hole earlier and decided to watch from there.

Once on the roof, he went over to the hole and observed the two fighters. He ducked now and then to keep from being seen. He didn't worry about the others. He'd hear them if they tried anything. Very little got past his ears unoticed.

As he watched the hedgehog, he noticed something familiar about her. The hair, the whip....

"MORGAINE!?" He thought. His expression went from worried, to downright angry as his fur began to bristle and his muscles became tense again.

"That other hedgehog is Sachio then." he muttered as he watched the movements of the fighters. As he watched, the thought crossed his mind, "What if they hit the boat!?". He knew Tech was in there. He smelled his scent when he was close to the door, not 2 minutes earlier. It was the only "safe place" in there. "This day just keeps getting better." he sighed sarcastically. He realized that if the boat was harmed, Tech would be harmed too more than likely. If ANYTHING happened to the boat, Jet would HAVE to get involved to protect Tech.

OOC: I'm done for a bit, but to anyone who wants to try playing Jet, here's a bit more info for you.

He has an increadible sense of smell, sight and hearing. Bright days hurt his eyes however, so he wears sunglasses that are almost black on cloudless, sunny days. And although he can usually handle loud sounds pretty well, if they are close enough his ears will cause him some pain. Two blocks is close enough to hurt when he hears the sound. Oh yeah! He will beat someone to within an inch of their life, but will never take lives. He refuses to beat someone to the point of dying. Ok. I've annoyed you long enough. ;P

And what is your part in all this? The voice spoke out, directed to her. It was the eagle, the person who Azieral was most cautious about since he was the person he knew least about. She was surprised she was found, but grateful however that it was only by one person. The others, it seemed, were to be distracted by their own individual bouts with one another.

Spectator until otherwise necessary. Azieral replied, her tone casual, as if not to instigate further weariness in the eagle. She didnt want to antagonize him for the fact that he might be deadly, rather that she had no need to fight him. Her only targets ever so far had been Sachio, Morgraine and Lucent, so involving the eagle would be pointless.

However, her answer was ambiguous. In that sense it would lend her the upper hand in actually making him a bit more cautious around her. When would it be necessary for her to not be a spectator? And what would she do at that time?

What about you? she replied, the tone continually casual. She didnt reveal herself from her position because, as it was, although it had been revealed to the eagle the two hedgehog siblings were still unaware, and that made it easier for herself.

Yet another explosion sounded out. This one, however, did not belong to the far more recent endeavour of one, Delougre the Rabbit, but rather this next one was near to Azieral and Sword and everyone else on the beach. Following this explosion was the sound of loud gunshots; and it was then obvious what this was of.

It was a gang fight because Sachio and Morgraines defending forces in the base and Lucents bulk forces, who were intended to create a distraction while the rest of the Nocturnes finished the job of annihilating the two hedgehog leaders. Lucents Nocturne forces were evidently outmatched by their opponents given they had firearms (could the one that have caused the explosion been a bazooka or grenade?) but for what it was worth, all they had to do was distract them long enough for the infiltration team to do its job.

Of which Azieral was a part of, and actually sitting pretty comfortably behind a parking ticket booth.

Well. Azieral spoke up, obtaining the attention of the obviously surprised Sword. I wonder whatever that could be

OOC: I'm only going to do one scene for now, and do the rest as I come. Sorry but I feel a tad poorly and uninspired today.
Lol! Nice posts everyone ^^. Wow James, nearly felt all those wounds from your post. Beautifully written that battle.
Brent... XD. I love your posts! Sword is such a wicked character. And Wraith and Pach and Jet, your posts are really good, I agree with Wraith :)

Harsh post James, be prepared.

IC:
Given Sachio was in a frustratingly 'tight' and excruciatingly dangerous situation, he made no effort to suppress the heavy breathing and wheezing which came out in irregular rhythms. This obviously had been brought out by his present battle- where he had been certain that he had the upper hand going for a long time at the start. Until a few unexpected tactics had really made the next few rounds blow up in his face.
Lucent certainly had taken advantage of his strengths, and noted Sachios lesser capabilities in those very strengths. Namely Lucents very precise ability to hear, which wasnt a particularly outstanding trait of Sachios. Furthermore, Sachio had always relied mainly on his eyes throughout his life for everything- even his special powers. No he began to wonder what he would have to resort to

It glaringly occurred to Sachio, that his volatile blind rage, for once, had been, is and will probably continue to be counteracted. Most opponents would have surrendered or have been dead by now from his brutal onslaught, but somehow the bat kept on managing to rise again and again- no matter how bad the fall. And Sachio was smart enough to know that it wasn't any magic remedy that was keeping him going. It was a simple but brutal possibility, or even an affirmation, that Lucent would keep on fighting until one of them died.

Despite recognising these will or iron, Sachio would still in his own mind, not even contemplate owing any respect or esteem towards Lucent whatsoever. He had to die!

Whats the matter boy?! Why are you taking so long? Lucent cackled cant handle the fact that your wild fighting isnt cutting it any more?

Sachio narrowed his eyes, before gritting his teeth. That nasty cut he had acquired across one his spines when he had avoided one of Lucents bolt attacks throbbed like hell- which made him wince slightly.

It made him wonder could he

Ive had enough of this, small fry! You had your chance Lucent interrupted snappily.

Svarminus Paralia!!!

The flash of light blue light, once again, was about to rush in and hit Sachio. Not knowing how many more of the blasts Sachio could handle, he kicked off the spot he was standing on, thrust himself towards the ticket booth, and kicked off from there to accentuate a diagonal upwards jump

The flash screeched as it hit the spot with tremendous force, where Sachio had been standing.

The blue and lavender hedgehog cast out his arms during his fall, before landing quite smoothly upon the sand with a thud, where he, at the same time, bent down and instinctively picked up a stone.

Oh dear. Sachio muttered, loud enough for Lucent to hear, as he took his time standing up again.

Lucent wasnt particularly phased, however. Although Sachio had dodged the attack quite well, he suspected that he had the upper hand more than Sachio at this moment in time.

At that moment, Lucent somersaulted forwards, before leaping again in the air and aimed a high kick towards Sachio.

Because it came about so sudden, Sachio had to clumsily throw himself out of the way, rolling against the sand wildly as he dodged the attack. He gritted his teeth even more as the sand began to gather up further into his wounds. His blood stained face was also quite a hellish sight after his nosebleed.

Knowing how vulnerable he was now and having caught Lucents look, Sachio threw the pebble he was holding against the ticket booth, which hit it with a loud clank.

Same move again, huh?! Lucent snarled, predicting that Sachio had performed the same manoeuvre as he had done when dodging his bolt.

With his back turned, Sachio smiled in his mind. This gave him enough time and distance to perform his next plan.

CHAOS NIGHTMARE!!! Sachio shouted like thunder as he got up and thrust his arms down. A huge crackle and whoosh was heard as the globe of discharging energy came soaring in Lucents direction.

But Lucent could hear it. And to a greater or lesser extent feel it. So this move should surely have failed. Failed Sachio, not miserably, but considerably.

However, Lucent suddenly felt an unknown force, which caused him to stagger slightly with pain on the spot.
... it was the withdrawel of the Chaos Emerald.

And during that distorted moment, it was then he suddenly cried out in abseloute dire pain as he found himself caught against the chaos blast- the white and pink energy smacking hard.
Sachio stood there, witnessing it all as it everything seemed slow down as laggard, as the bat appeared to be caught up in the chaos nightmare's wave like motion, before he fell to the ground like lead.

Sachio smirked, as he gazed upon the defeated bat. He was tempted to throw another orb, just whip the hell out of Lucent even more. But he felt slightly drained after having, as of yet, thrown two chaos nightmares, and used mind control on two individuals. There was only so much he could do within one battle.

He jogged over, before slowing down as he stood up tall and looked down on Lucent- who did appear to be sprawled and unconcious. Tilting his head slightly, he smirked, before looking out to the vast oceans- and a nearby rocky cliff.

He scooped up Lucent into his arms, and started walking off...

Lienna had been focused on filing her nails for a considerable amount of time, wrinkling her nose slightly. Looking up, she suddenly noticed that Sachio and Lucent had... vanished.

___

The waves from the sea could be heard crashing and smashing against the rocks from down below, as Sachio continued to carry Lucent... towards the edge of a rocky cliff.
The wind howled, throwing salt, water and grains of sand in haphazard directions in a vicious manner.

Sachio wasn't phased though.

"Hmpf! Vicious weather hey? Supposed to be winter right now so they say... can you feel it?" Sachio shouted out against the wind. It was unusual for him to make a full-sentenced conversation which, ironically, passed upon deaf ears.

Lucent's unconcious but cold-hard expression was simply maintained after Sachio spoke, his head bobbing up and down ever so slightly every time Sachio took a step whilst carrying him.

"Course you can't... old fool," Sachio muttered, as he finally mounted his last steps towards the very cliff edge, staring down at the vast oceans down below, with shards of dagger like rocks sticking out from the aqua-coloured water.
Sachio's eyes glinted, followed by a smile as he envisioned how satisfying it would be to watch Lucent get sliced up by all those shards of rocks- followed by a bone-breaking tidal wave to finish off the bloody remains.

"My final words to you, Lucent," Sachio began, trying to steady Lucent whilst still holding him, considering Sachio's underdeveloped frame "you thought you were rising, ... but now you will be falling... and this time, you won't be getting back up again. Ever.... old man."

With that, Sachio projected his arms out so that he was holding the lying Lucent above the open sea, from meters and meters below... about to drop him to his death.
