So how's the RP activity? It's been a long time since I've been around and I notice 2 or 3 top RPs I haven't sen before! and here I thought we were dead, here. XD

Actually it's up and on the rise. The Evalc's continuation and the Transformers RP are going full speed. We have two Sonic based RP's moving along pretty quick as well. Also Cherry has a off the wall RP with some very good backstory to it that's giving some of the other ones a run for there money and gaining a few more people.

So I noticed, Rick. Hehe. It's good that the activity is more than it used to be, shame my lil' RP died out awhile ago. Guess it was a little bit of my fault, however. I guess I'll have to read a collective of RPs to see which one feels the best to jump in!

Klonoa's sort of a niche game series, but those who've played it can tell you it's the best bunch of puzzle/platformers ever. The games have very intricate stories, which makes them prime for roleplaying in my book. Since it's not a well known series I figured I'd try to first look for people who want to roleplay it rather than write an intro post and have it go to waste. So this is merely an invite to see if anyone else wishes to center a story in Phantomile.

If you're interested, then reply. Even if I only get one person it'll be enough to motivate me to start a thread up for it.

I don't know much at all about the klonoa universe but if you get at least one other person I could come in from the angle of a naive alien kinda thing.

I'd suggest brushing up by getting one of the games, though not all of them were released outside of Japan and Namco destroyed all the copies over here that didn't sell. The first game is so rare that it will run you about $60 on Amazon.

Anyway, I'll begin it today and anyone who wants to join in can. Luckily any anthropomorphic characters fit in well with the world, so integrating won't be tough.

Wow, I played that first game long ago; rented it and played it all the way through. That was back when it was just the one game, and I haven't played any of the ones since, although I gather that there's a rather devoted fan following. For my part I rather liked the game, but I haven't played any since the first so I have no idea of any plot elements introduced since the first one. That was also years ago when I played it.

Generally it's best to try to do as you said: describe everything as if this is the first time everyone is seeing this. Makes for a better story too. RPs that rely too much on the knowledge of a particular game or anime tend not to do as well unless everyone involved is familiar with it.

hey there everyone . i have been thinking about trying out Rping here, shall be working on some character profiles later.

But what i want to ask, i have been on a search for someone to roleplay with. basically i want someone who feels they can roleplay the brotherhood of guardians well. it doesnt have to be all the guardians just a handful. My story well, two of my characters were planning to meet a friend of theirs on the edge of the floating island. The spell goes wrong and they end up in haven, of all places!. i imagine it to be kinda serious kinda humurous.

^^ would if I was a little more sussed about 'Brotherhood of guardians' and all the rest. Unfortunatly, my flow fow writing buckles when my knowledge is poor on a subject. Archie RP's for instance I find really hard to sustain. Freestyling didn't work for me 😛

What happened to the roleplayers guild is a very interesting question. I guess, people just stopped roleplaying on the site due to the extreme lack of activity that the guild seemed to generate at the time. Theres a good sort of RPs here, now, but awhile back it was what... 3 or so? Eh. It was in it's prime before the hack, but that's obvious.

That's all I'm managing anyway.

Wow, been a while since I set foot in here.

Okay, gonna cut to the chase with these words: Raccoon, City.

Freestyle RP for RE fans who'd like to get a shot at a little Survival Horror posting - just plonk yourself somewhere obscure in the City from hell, team up/Sabotage and generally violate Zombie hordes and other mutagenically enhanced freaks along the way.

No plot decided at time of posting, but I figure with all the creativity you guys can come up with, winging it might actually make something happen along the way. Best part is, anyone can join at anytime to post.

Basic proposal would be generally first few posts to set up who you are...and yes, In-game characters can be used, as we can treat this as an AU-styled RP running along the same styled events under a differently played out scenario...mingle if you so wish, and then team up/divide one another in an attempt to flee the city - which can probably be determined as happening either as individual endings or as a group goal, depending on what you want to go along with/what happens.

Teamwork and Sneaky Spies are all encouraged - reasonable weaponry for start...ranging from basic melee towards light pistol useage.

I may influence events a couple of times, but I'm not really much on leading a RP - I'd much rather just leave it open ended and let people work in things for themselves...and in something like this, there's always inspiration to go with.

So yeah, if anyone has interest in giving this at least a shot in the arm, let me know.

That's 5 of us then, if people are still willing? 5 seems like a fair number.

I wouldn't think a massive knowledge of Resident Evil knowledge is needed since the majority of the Racoon City scenario could be based around the prescence of escape from the typical zombies. Other aspects of the particular story (Hunters, Nemesis, Nikolai and the U.B.C.S) could be introduced and detailed later in the rp, practically explaining themself.

Um...yeah. Hey all, it's been a while. How is everyone?

Just like to appologise to people for my dissapearance, particularly the great guys and gals in the Rise and Fall who I have let down big time...Eclipse, Ben, Seleth, Egg, anyone else. I'm really, really sorry for my lack of postingness, I really wanted to put something up, but due to one thing after another as regards health, real life and other things, I wasn't able for quite a while. I've really been through the wars of late. Then (although it pains me to say it) since it had been so long I kinda...um...forgot about it. I really, really feel terrible about it now, especially thinking that I might well have been solely responsible for the (second) death of by far the greatest RP thread on the board. Guys, I only hope you can forgive me.

But yeah, I've been lurking a little around this board recently, and figured I'd pop back in to say hello. Unfortunately I can't take part in any RPs here at the moment, possibly for the forseeable future, but I still look in on the place from time to time.

Back from one of my many hiatuses and with fresh inspiration, I'm going to browse some of the RP efforts to see how I can add to them but I do have some minor RP ideas. If anyone is interesting in a fantasy/adventure: I am working on a RP thread based on my Order Saga, which of course was a RP subject a few years ago but never finished (like all of my roleplays). Big bad religious cult with magic powers trying to conquer the world with fear and power aspects and would take place in my alternative take on the sonicverse.

So how exactly does this work exactly? I understand that I give you my idea here, and you run with it. (hopefully not to the opponent's side of the field) But what then? Do I get a PM when it's done? What exactly do I do after I post my idea?

This thread is for sharing ideas to see if there is a interest in it or if a idea can be more developed through conversation before a post is constructed. Though, it's far from active these days.

^ Me too. Honestly I had no idea anyone recently posted in here until I noticed it on the main page (sorry >_<). This thread always came in handy to see what RPs people were cooking up and whether they would work or not. I never really posted in it (I think) but I did enjoy browsing through it at the time. As the Guild became more and more inactive so did this thread. People were posting new RPs, but they basically just did it on a whim. They just never took the time to see if their ideas would gather any interest by posting here, and after they start never some here to work out ideas realted to their RPs. I am definitely guilty of this, but I am thinking of starting a new RP soon in the future and may actually consider using this thread, but then again I do not know how many people check the new posts here in the Guild let alone this thread.

Well, I know I'll probably be using this thread a fair bit once I'm... "established?" Yeah, that sounds like the right word.

Well, depending who's paying attention... here's a few opts that I have in my head that can be adapted.

Season Cycle, science fiction. This one takes place in my 'Galaxies' verse which takes place over the course of a unnamed galaxy, ironically this one is generally anthro as well. This one is me doing a free/open RP. Letting it build as the players take it where they take it, but even then it has established guidelines and laws. I'm still thinking this one over.

I have a few more ideas, but nothing as concrete as these three at the moment. Questions? Comments?

Another Post-Apoc sounds nice. I've been wanting to do one of those ever since Rise and Fall quit updating!

I have a couple new ideas for RPs that I would like to discuss as well.

1. I've been wanting to create an RP based in the Foundations Universe, which would be the setting of my own stories. However, I can see several problems with this cropping up, so I'm still fervently working on the idea.

2. In this idea, the whole of the cast are a large group of high school students taking part in a school event where they basically go to war with BB guns and get way to into it and blow the whole thing out of proportion. Still working on this idea as well, but there are fewer chinks than in the other one.

The second concept (the one with the BB guns). would this be a comedic adventure or would there be more serious elements involved? From what I read it seems to be leaning more into comedy, which would be something new. haven't done comedy around here in a while!

Yes, it would be more to the comedic side of things. Besides, I feel that any attempt at seriousness in this setting would be humorous regardless.

Heh, just making sure. I didn't know if you wanted to go the whole let's throw all our issues on the table and work though it with BB guns as the backdrop route. That one seems intriguing, but that's just me.

I see. Well then once I've worked out a few more details with that one I'll post them here.

He cringed as Mary-Anne fired the gun right past his ear three times, the silvery pellets smacking audibly against the school's tiled floor, then she repositioned the barrel against his skull.  "I may let you live...if you pledge your undying allegiance to me, and tell me about your team's plans."

Yeah, this could be pretty fun!  That's just an example of the kind of wackiness I'd expect from such a scenario as the one described in the second possibility there.

As for the Foundations Universe...yeah, you'd have to be careful in how you present it, since you'd have to make sure everyone knows everything they need to know about the universe without overloading them with material to read.  But it wouldn't be too hard as long as you keep in mind that this is something you're adapting specially for RP purposes.

I'm personally debating the creation of a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon RP, myself.  Alternatively, something inspired by the Final Fantasy Agito-0 trailer.
