OOC: This is set 10 years after the events of Shadow, so what's happened so far is:
The World enjoyed relative peace for 5 years after the Black Arms' attack, but then, as more and more 'Mobians' began to come from this heretofore unknown country of 'South Island', the humans got scared. These beings were far superior to humans, physically and technologically. A whole X-Men style 'Kill all the mutants' hatred began. Sonic and Tails tried to bring peace but failed. Now all hell has broken loose!
You can use any character or species you want, even made-up ones. I have no problems in that area.
Name: Hiran Cloud
Species: Bat
(There is no need for more on the profile, it can be revealed as the story progresses)
Hiran was concerned for the upper-world. A huge war between humans and Mobians had broken out, his sister, Rouge, was caught in the middle.
He left for this world of light. He couldn't stand by and let his sister die, she was no fighter. Everyone else could burn for all he cared.
In Station Square: Hiran was shocked that ,for a time, humans were the most powerful creatures on Earth. This city was primitive compared to the Metropilis' in the Underworld.
"Hey, freak!" Someone shouted, Hiran turned looked to his left.
"Who? Me?"
It was a soldier, he had the word GUN written on his uniform.
"Yeah you! Get the hell outta our city, your kind ain't welcome here!"
Ah of course, he though Hiran was a Mobian. But of course, Hiran wasn't going to take any crap. He through his open, cloven hand straight into the man's chest and tore his heart out.
"I may be a freak, you glorified monkey, but at least I can stay standing in a fight."
"This is EXACTLY what we're talking about Ambassador."
The voice wasn't far away, Hiran turned to see more GUN soldiers. These appeared to escorted a strange person. Animal-like in appearance not unlike the so-called mobians. However his size set him apart, he was the size of a human, probably six feet tall. From what wasn't covered by a rather intimidating and expensive looking bluish mantle he look to be some kind of canine species the complete lack of coloration other than dull grey made telling his exact race next to impossible. Aside from his rather diplomatic looking attire his eyes stood out most. Narrowed and almost emerald in color, Hiran felt like those eyes were looking through him, not at him.
The man spoke, Hiran could tell it was addressed to him if only by the locked stare, that single word addressing everything the man was thinking. Why was the soldier dead? Why had the bat killed him? Why did it have to happen? Why was everything so violent here? Everything was packaged together in a perfectly pitched word, neither angry nor weak, neither submissive nor commanding. The tone with which this well dressed canine creature spoke was purely inquisitive.
"Why?"
Rig, as Owen Ivers was now known, sighed his whirring sigh. "Ah... I am glad to be left out of this war, for now." He was actually a polecat, who had previously worked on a robot assembly line for Dr. Eggman Robotnik, but after he'd caught a disease in an accident with unstable parts that meant his body was slowly falling apart, the Doctor had built him a bulky, armour-like and heavily armed robotic suit that would fuse to his body more and more as time went on, replacing his entire natural form if needbe, aside from the brain.
Turning on the jet boosters attached to his metallic orange legs, Rig jumped high into the air and hovered as he looked down on the small, barely-manned GUN base below him in the desert. "Rig!" came the Doctor's voice over the communications system in Rig's new head, crackling due to the interfering radio signals from the military facility below. "Remember the plan- the Eggman Empire both can and WILL benefit from this conflict. Now, assault the GUN base quickly and then rush out as fast as you can. Then, strike a Mobian base in the same manner. Got that?"
"Yes, sir," replied Owen quietly, knowing his boss would hear him easily over the highly advanced computer system he had set up, and swiftly began to put the 300 IQ genius' plan into action.
Hiran looked into the ambassadors eyes, he and the ambassador were around the same height, Mobians didn't usually grow like this. Was there another race like the bats?
Hiran decided to answer him, "I don't care for this world, your races can destroy each other if you must, I'll have no part in this conflict, I just want to find my sister, and any idiot that gets in my way, dies."
____________________________________________________________
Jason Reeves, the soldier who killed Maria Robotnik 60 years ago, watched this 'Rig' intensely. If Rig screwed this job up it was bye-bye for the Eggman Empire. GUN was too distracted by the Mobians to care for Eggman, all their new weapons were to be used on South Island, but if Eggman was percieved as a threat, he would get severly nuked.
Jason enjoyed working for Eggman, he was more honest than GUN, GUN claimed to want to protect peace, yet they resorted to war at the drop of a hat. Eggman said he wanted to dominate, and isn't fear the best way to dominate? And how better to instil fear than annihalation?
Outside Station Square...
"Well, Haku? Sense anything, yet?"
"Why are we even bothering with this freakish mute kid, anyway? It's not like he can answer us back, you know."
"Yeah, Wedge! And it's not only him, but that other echidna girl, too. Why is she here?"
The fox who went by the name cast a sideways glance at the Mobian raccoon and chameleon complaining behind him.
"I told you two before," he snapped. "We're gonna show those damned GUN soldiers who's boss-- and Haku,here..." Wedge motioned to the pre-adolescent white echidna standing ahead of him. "... he and Kanal are gonna get us to the chaos emerald being held in that place."
"Your just using him for your own evil purposes," said Kanal, the light orange echidna who stood behind the others. "You're extremely lucky just to be alive at this point."
The canid looked the bloody bat for a moment. Then closed his eyes and nodded sadly, "I take it you are alien, as am I. These soldiers are my escorts for the duration of my stay, there is no longer need to kill them."
He took in a breath, his eyes looking more real, less threatening, as if in the duration of the stare he'd learned something about Hiran. "What will you do when you find your sister?"
"I will simply leave. There will be no need for bloodshed so long as nobody gets in my way." Hiran said. "I don't enjoy killing, it's my instinct. I gained it from the Echidna War, over 2000 years ago." Hiran looked towards humans. "You may know of this era, do you recall the Black Arms?"
____________________________________________________________
Sonic stood at the edge of Angel Island, looking at the ruins below. Human soldiers were gathering, planning his death. They seemed to have this notion that killing him would topple the Mobian Army, thankfully they were not that fragile. "Take off the head and the body will die." Was not true of the Mobian army, besides, Tails was more a leader than Sonic was now.
Sonic was not concerned with GUN anyway, they were insignificant insects to him now he had the Chaos Emeralds. No, he was concerned with his old enemy, Eggman, what was he up to? This conflict could benefit him yet he was nowhere to be seen... if he was out in the open, Sonic could wipe out him and GUN, and end this war. But he feared that he was coming to enjoy this bloodshed, he hated humanity now, but they didn't all deserve to die, but Sonic feared that he was, indeed, going to go too far and kill them all.
OOC: Anyone can use Sonic if they like, I don't mind.
The canine sighed, "Then lets find your sibling. The less death occurs the better."
"She's called Rougue, I believe she helped GUN combat the Black Arms 10 years ago."
____________________________________________________________
The murder of Maria played through Jason's mind, the look on Shadow's face when she hit the ground. Jason had considered, many times, telling Eggman the he'd killed his cousin and then killing him. But Jason had too much use for Eggman, soon though, soon.
"You don't want to hear my opinion on war. I assume you have some idea where this person is, please lead us in that direction." The canine said bluntly, he did not seem forthcoming with much, not even his name or reason behind helping a murderous stranger.
"Most likely stealing something, something valuble, either that or aiding the Mobians, I take it they're encamped on Angel Island?" Hiran didn't trust the canine, he seemed TOO benign. He was surely planning something.
"You got a problem with me, echidna girl?" Wedge growled. "You forget, I could kill the two of you at any time if you defy me."
"Yeah, you'd better listen to Wedge," the raccoon chimed in, drawing a gun and pointing it at Kanal's head. "We haven't seen any blood for a long time, and we can get a little jumpy..."
The chameleon withdrew a knife from a pocket on his vest and did the same. "We could just as easily forget about the job here and kill you and the kid."
Kanal had enough of these clowns. She couldn't believe she let her and Haku get dragged into this mess by such weaklings. The two of them were only going back to Angel Island to see Sonic and the others...
"I've got somewhere to be," the light orange echidna said, lifting up her now faintly glowing right hand. "I'm going to end things right here and now, and I'll be on my way with Haku."
---
Angel Island- Altar Ruins
"What do you mean, they haven't returned yet?" Knuckles yelled furiously. "Those rats at GUN better not have..."
"I'm sure Kanal and Haku are fine," Tails said to him. "There's no need to worry for them. You did teach Kanal everything you know."
Knuckles glared at the double-tailed fox, already about to lose his temper. How could he not worry?! He watched over Kanal for the past ten years, just before the Black Arms showed up! How could someone younger than him tell him not to worry?!
Sonic was worried about Haku and Kanal, it was dangerous around Station Square, there were GUN turrets (OOC: See what I did there?) all over the damn place, those assholes at GUN might've killed them themselves too, and what of Eggman?
Sonic quickly became frustrated, he went to the Master Emerald's Altar to pick up his sword, he wanted some blood.
The canine watched Hiran standing for awhile getting a bemused looked on his face, "We going, or are you going to stand here all day?"
"Push come to shove, we'll send out a search party for them," Tails said calmly to Knuckles. "But for now..."
He trailed off, turning around to see Sonic making his way up the steps, apparently looking pissed.
"Going out?" he inquired.
---
Kanal fired one last chaos energy blast from her hand at Wedge in warning. "Let Haku go," she said, "or you'll end up like your friends."
Behind the echidna, two smouldering bodies lay on the ground, apparently the remains of Wedge's former comrades.
Wedge himself stood ahead of her with absolute terror in his eyes; he had Haku hostage and held a knife towards the child, who was reaching out for Kanal.
"I'm warning you," the fox said, with a primal look in his eyes, "Don't come any closer!"
Kanal sighed. This was getting so damn tedious...
She would just blow this guy's head off, but Haku was in the way... she'd brought enough harm to him as it is; she didn't want to accidentally hurt him...
Edit- OOC: Finished.
Hiran spread his great wings, and took flight.
"Try and keep me in sight, we'll check out Angel Island first." Hiran wondered why the Canine was helping hime, he'd brutally killed a soldier for little reason. His distrust deepened.
____________________________________________________________
Sonic picked up his sword, the Chaos Blade, plug in a single Chaos Emerald, and it becomes the ultimate destructive weapon, surpassing even The Eclipse Cannon.
Sonic plugged an Emerald in.
"Gonna go kill me some soldiers, you comin'?" Sonic asked Tails and Knuckles.
"You've changed Sonic, this senseless violence will solve nothing." Tails said, sadly.
"You're too frustrated, GUN shouldn't be getting to you like this, those bastards aren't worth it." Knuckles added.
"Frustration leads to anger, anger leads to hatred, hatred leads to violence and violence sometimes soothes." Sonic said. "Besides, we did so much for them... all us Mobians, then, they attacked us, they killed so many..." Sonic looked into the air, a melancholy saddness filled his eyes "Amy."
Rig flew away from the ruins of the GUN base. "Mission part 1 achieved, sir," he informed the Doctor over his comm system.
"Very good Rig! Now, get the Mobian base!" came the reply.
"Yes sir!" called out Rig, saluting even though his boss was over the other side of the planet. As he neared a turbulent area of the sky, half of an Extreme Gear board folded down from each of his legs, and they connected, forming a board for him to ride the turbulence. Owen set up his large and powerful missile pods once more, and looked down on the base he was overlooking. "COWABUNGA!" he yelled, as he jumped out of the turblence and fell straight down towards the large, single-level grey building, firing all his missiles at it crazily. "MISSILE FEVER!"
Zofia Windfall ran over to Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, holding a piece of paper. "Tails!" she called, and then realised sheepishly that it was not the best time to deliver a message. She was a white-furred arctic fox, who, whilst being 4 years younger than Sonic, seemed older and more mature than him, due in no small part to the fact she was far taller than him. She was clad in an icy-blue sleeveless shirt and shorts- her thick fur meant she couldn't wear too much in Angel Island's climate without being too hot. "I'm sorry to interrupt whatever you're doing, sirs," she muttered, "but a message has come over Babylon Garden. GUN soldiers are attacking them- they don't think they can hold out for long, and are requesting a back-up force." Zofia looked down to her superiors, wondering what course of action they would choose.
OOC: In case anyone's wondering, Zofia is about the height of Vanilla the Rabbit- I chose this height since Tails, a fox, is almost as tall as Sonic at age 8, so a fox at age 21 would definately be taller.
Sonic looked at Zofia. "I'll go." He looked down at his Chaos Blade, sneering.
"Finally, some blood."
And in a flash of Golden Light, he was gone.
____________________________________________________________
Hiran saw a brief Golden Light somewhere near the center of Angel Island, it looked like Chaos Control. He shouted down to the Canine; "Who has the Chaos Emeralds?"
____________________________________________________________
Sonic appeared in the midst of the GUN encampment, they were briefly shocked, and that moment of surprise was their death, with one swing of his sword Sonic liquidified every soldier. They didn't even have the oppurtunity to scream.
Now he needed to find the soldiers that were attacking the Mobians. They wouldn't have the brief deaths their comrades did, they would suffer, horribly. He vanished again.
"Whew...I thought that would never be over... Sorry I got us into this mess, Haku..."
Kanal and Haku sat a short distance away from the still smouldering dead bodies that lay on the ground. A third was among them this time; the remains of Wedge.
Kanal gazed at the burned corpses with a look of sadness in her eyes... she didn't want to kill them, but she had no choice.
Haku, sensing her sadness, tugged her arm.
"I'm all right," she said to the young boy. "I'm used to it by now, after all. Now..." Kanal stood up, brushing the dirt off her skirt. "We've got someplace to go."
Haku nodded and scrambled to his feet as well.
OOC: Edit later
"Ambassador Kenji?" One of the soldiers piped up finally as they entered what appeared to be some kind of shuttle-like transport.
The canine looked at the human, "Your orders are to assist me, correct?" The human nodded, his pale blue eyes looked almost scared of the canine humanoid. "Why are you helping this murderer? The debriefing from command said you Kydane despised unnecessary violence." Another larger human fired off, his bravado fueled by the timidness of his smaller companion.
The canine stared distantly at the wall of the shuttle as it rocked as the pilot followed the bat's signature on his instruments. "There is nothing to gain by killing him. For all we know the soldier may have made an attempt on his life. It's best not to assume the worst. Your... "briefing, also made note I am here to watch and observe this war, I will attempt to make contact with both sides and once I have done so I will report my findings to the Kydane Civilian Government."
The human shook his head, the small speech having completely avoided his point, "This guy ain't human 'er mobian. He's some alien..." Kenji cut him off, "As am I. But that aside it would seem to be the most effecient response to allow him to collect his family and leave without further incident." The canine looked up to the pilot, "Follow him closer and warn any of your installations not to fire on him."
The pilot looked somewhat upset at the request but simply replied, "Yes Ambassador Kenji."
The Underworld, Hiran's home, it has existed since the beginning of Earth itself, and not long after, the original form of the bats appeared, over time they evolved into beings similar to Hiran. The bats soon gained the ability to create, with total control over molecular density and type, they were Gods. They created all other life. Over time the beings they made (after several failed species) evolved seperately into Humans and Furries, the Furries' language was similar to the Human language, English, with more latin thrown in (Mobius means Earth in latin) and what was known as slang to the humans was normal speak among furries. The bats were interested by this development and decided to study the two races.
The bats helped both species along scientificly (I know that's spelt wrong ), pushing them along, the Furries (now calling themselves Mobians) being the kinder race, accepted the helped, listened to them, whilst the humans ignored or killed them (someone invented the steam cannon when the roman empire was at the top of its game, but it was never distributed) and as such, the 'Mobians' advanced further.
But one day a human would wander into their realm and discover them, and then create a new kind of furrie, the hedgehog.

Hiran heard everything Kenji and the human said, his trust of Kenji increased, as Kenji surely couldn't know the range of Hiran's hearing...
At that moment Hiran heard several screams coming from a place he had seen shaped, Babylon Garden, accompanied by shouts of 'KILL! KILL! KIIIIL!'
He looked down to Kenji and the humans; "I think my family is the least of your concerns right now, someone's gone crazy in Babylon Garden, and I don't think it's a human."

Sonic was surprised by the sickened look on his fellow Mobian's faces as he tore through the GUN soldiers in the battle field, leaving them in perfect agony on the floor. He killed none of them, this fate was far worse.
When he finished he approached his friends.
"What did you do to them?" Said a Black Rabbit.
"Imagine the greatest pain imaginable, and magnify it 1000000 times. That is what they are feeling right now." Sonic replied.
"H-how, c-c-could you do that?" The Rabbit stuttered.
"They deserved it." Sonic replied, and vanished.
"So tell me this again-- why am I flying this old junky plane again?!" Tails said furiously. "And where's your Extreme Gear?"
Tails and Knuckles were in the Tornado II flying above Station Square. Knuckles had gotten tired of waiting back on Angel Island and dragged Tails with him to go looking for Kanal and Haku... unfortunately, Tails didn't want to go.
"You know there's a risk of us being shot down you know," the double-tailed fox yelled out to the stubborn echidna standing on the wings behind him.
"I don't care," Knuckles shot back, "Once I find that girl, she's gonna get an earful!"
"Then you shouldn't have sent her out to go looking for your girlfriend," Tails muttered under his breath.
He just so happened to look around when he thought he saw something out the corner of his eye.
"What the--?" he started to say. "Is that a robot?"
---
Haku suddenly stopped in his tracks, and turned to look in the sky.
"What's wrong?" Kanal asked him, halting as well.
Haku looked back at her, looking very serious.
That was when Kanal heard Haku's voice in her mind for what seemed to be the first time in a while... telepathy was something he didn't do this often, due to the black metallic collar around his neck, forced on him by GUN scientists about a year ago."
"...It's Sonic...his mind...he's in pain again..."
Kanal almost gasped at this, but she quickly became furious.
"Come on," she said to Haku, "We're going to go find him..."
But...?
"'But,' nothing! I don't want it to happen again! I'll stop him before he does anything!!"
Sanity is a fragile thing, much can remove it, harm it. Sonic feared for his. Why did he gain suh pleasure in the suffering of the humans? Some was understandable given what they did, but pleasure of this magnitude was, wrong....
He wanted to crush the skulls of children in front of their mothers, tear through cities spreading rage and despair on an epic scale, it was unreal. He didn't want these sick wants, he wanted them to go away, he wanted it all to end. But he was incapable of killing himself, something he learned the last time he felt like this. It's a built in proscription against suicide implanted by Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, his creator. Was this genocidal fury also implanted by that bastard?
____________________________________________________________
Hiran was hit by a revalation, the one protector of this world was going insane, Sonic Robotnik was going to go on a rampage, at the moment he hates humans. Soon, he will hate everything. Phsycic visions like this often hit Hiran, and there was never a crack in his omniscience. He was always right.
And the worst thing: Sonic was damn near unstoppable...
As they ran for it, Kanal could see that Haku was becoming increasingly stressed. She figured it was from still sensing Sonic's deteriorating mental condition...
I don't know where he is now, but he's on the move, I think... Haku had concluded. Unfortunately, all I'm sensing now is blood. Lot's of it.
"He must be on another one of his killing sprees," Kanal had assumed sadly. "If it's anything like before..."
What happened?
Kanal had shut her eyes tightly at that question... it was something she would never talk about... especially with the near death experience she had... She remembered those cold, emotionless emerald green eyes stare back at her that day among the flames... And the sinister voice that accompanied it...
"Stay out of my way... or I'll kill you..."
Sonic tore through Station Square, having appeared there using Chaos Control, he obliterated everything and one that came near him. People ran screaming, he aomized them, soldiers shot him to no avail, he tore their lungs out through their mouths.
Oh the blood. Oh the screaming. It was energizing!
____________________________________________________________
Seconds after his revalation, Hiran saw Sonic on his path of annihalation. Hiran floated down to Kenji, "You run, I'll deal with the Hedgehog."
____________________________________________________________
A huge bat, resembiling Rouge flew at Sonic, it seemed the bat wasn't up for a chat, as it swatted Sonic down into the ground and started pummeling him, viscously.
Sonic blasted it into the air and flew up after it, he swung the Chaos Blade at the bat, but it avoided it.
____________________________________________________________
Hiran narrowly avoided the blade. It was time to cut the crap, he threw his claw throught the air towards Sonic's face, there was a sickening squelch and ear piercing scream as it collided with Sonic's face.
Sonic hit the floor in a shower of blood.
Was he dead? Not a chance.
Hiran flew back to where Kenji was...
OOC: I can't say what happened next as it's up to Rico whether he did what Hiran said or not.
Knuckles and Tails, still in the Tornado, happened to see the fight between Sonic and the mysterious someone they'd never seen before.
"I knew I should have stopped him," Tails said, teeth clenched. "It's only a matter of time, now..."
Knuckles didn't seem to hear him. Instead, the echidna pointed down to solid ground below.
"There's Kanal and Haku!!" he shouted, and leapt off the bi-plane, outstretching his arms so he began to glide through the air.
"Knuckles, WAIT!!" Tails called after him, but his outburst was only met with silence.
---
The destruction and carnage around Station Square made Kanal sick to her stomach. It was something she was never able to stand, and she hated it more knowing the one responsible for all of this.
Haku seemed fine, though, as the young white echidna walked ahead of her, looking around at the dismal surroundings.
He suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned his head sharply to the sky.
"What is it?" Kanal asked. She followed his gaze, and saw what looked like a red dot coming in her direction.
"Knuckles?" she said to herself questioningly.
It was then that the teenage echidna heard a crashing sound come from somewhere nearby. Before she could turn to Haku and tell him to stay put, she saw the boy run off in the direction of the sound.
"Haku--!!"
***
continued
Kenji looked at his bodyguards a very uncharacteristic expression on his face, "Return to the shuttle."
They hesitated for a moment but seeing the enraged mobian they didn't question the order and fled. Except one, the younger blond soldier who had questioned him so much. He was hiding behind a piece of rubble watching the canine. A word to describe the expression finally came to the soldier. The one thing he'd never seen on the canine's face was fear. In his short time guarding the Kydane ambassador he'd seen most normal emotions from him. Anger, sadness, happiness, and especially compassion. But he'd never seen the beast-man afraid, and that was the look he'd had when he ordered them to withdraw. Kenji watched Sonic return to the offensive with an almost childlike pouting expression. The hedgehog and the bat started to scuffle.
The canine looked odd, his fur seemed to have a reddish hue now. He knelt down on the cracked pavement, eyes sparkling like emerald jewels. He watched the two fight uttering lowly, "Acxaw Tana. Neploxkow metan ta soyxok. Xaton melan maslak metan ta samox yatan cocxok. Acxaw Tana. Neploxkow metan ta soyxok. Xaton melan maslak metan ta samox yatan cocxok." The chant repeated as they fought, Tails suddenly felt the plane start jerk upward. The fox recovered from the sheer but before his eyes what had just been normal puffy clouds before were suddenly massive, black, and heavy. He was flying in a storm.
The soldier was concentrating hard now on the chanting, one of the reasons he'd been chosen for this duty was his personal interest in the Kydane and their culture. He was by no means fluent in the language but Kydane lore was something he WAS very much interested in. The language was indeed the native Kydane language. One that had been dead since before the modernization of the planet. From what he could make out; yatan was the word for wind, samox was red, maslak was white, xaton was the word for bluish green, soyxok was a loud noise, and metan and melan were heat related. So replacing what he knew, 'Acxaw Tana. Neploxkow metan ta soyxok. Xaton melan maslak metan ta samox yatan cocxok' Meant, Something heat noise. blue-green heat, white heat and red some kind of wind.
The storm suddenly formed, making the unknown words more clear. The heat he was refering to must be to do with the storm. 'Heat noise' and 'blue-green heat' must be lightning and thunder. The GUN recruit suddenly felt a shiver going down his back, the beast-man they'd been guarding was actually CAUSING a thunderstorm. There were mentions of strange phenomenon like this in the little bits of history he'd found on these people but they were just stories. At least he'd thought.
"Acxaw Tana. Neploxkow metan ta soyxok. Xaton melan maslak metan ta samox yatan cocxok." A final chant and he closed his eyes then even for his close proximitry to the ambassador the soldier barely heard the final small phrase Kenji uttered out sadly, "Wixan Hena." The ambassador opened his eyes and stood up. The soldier shook his head, he couldn't translate those words.
He sneered and and barked out his voice cracking as if he was a teenager at Hiran and Sonic "ICXIS! ENOUGH! STOP THIS RIGHT NOW! Ka metan... TAXAS!" Suddenly a blinding flash of lightning hit between them all overpowering them by blindness alone and leaving them stunned by the resounding blast of thunder.
Everything was numb for them all, the tornado circled overhead getting a birdseye view of all all of the people on the ground unable to get their bearings. Even though he was ready for it the canine was still slow to recover, his sight came back quickly as he'd closed his eyes before the massive flash but his ears, being sensitive as all canine were still hearing mainly a loud ringing as his eardrums struggled with the strain they'd just endured. Rain fell now, making it ever harder for Tails to keep the plane aloft, but it had a rejuvenating effect on the stunned people on the ground.
Slowly both Hiran and Sonic returned to standing, knuckles was still slow to get up having fell some way after the initial blast left him unable to glide.
"Look at me Sonic Maurice Hedgehog." The ambassador said bracing himself on a bent lamppost for support. The rain made his fancy attire saggy and not nearly as dignified. His fur was started to matte down due to the water falling on him. He looked torn between flying into a rage and falling to the ground crying, "I see you've already forgotten me. The name Rico means nothing to you now I take it. My name." His stare was pure concern, as if, at some time, he'd known this crazed mobian. His eyes had turned a mix of empathy and fear.
The GUN soldier looked on with almost boyish awe at what was unfolding. He'd known Kenji had to be a false name as it was from ancient lore and Kydane were forbidden to use it because of the religious implications of it. It was be like them naming their children God. The question had been why he'd told them that. But now more questions were put before him, ones GUN would want the answers too. Why was he REALLY here? Had he really been here before? When? Why? And more importantly what was his relationship to the renegage mobian Sonic.
Kenji, or Rico as he'd called himself, stared longingly at Sonic hoping for a sign of anykind. The young GUN bodyguard sat absorbed in his moment of truth. Hiran, who's ears were the only ones more sensitive than Kenji's, was finally regaining his hearing and with it his balance. Knuckles was finally on his feet and moving toward the group.
Sonic floated up off of the ground. Now more time to piss around. He summoned the 7 Chaos Emeralds, and ascended to Super Sonic. He would not run out of energy, so long as he held the Chaos Blade, his energy lasted forever.
The pestilent bat had hit's back to him, perfect.
____________________________________________________________
"Kenji! What are you still doing here!?" Hiran yelled.
"Damn it's, plughr!" He was cut off by an immense stabbing pain in his back, a heat, then numbness, eventually darkness.
____________________________________________________________
The bat collapsed in a shower of blood after being hit by the Chaos Spear energy blast. Now, to deal with the glorified Dog that started this storm.
Knuckles was a bit slow, but he reached the canine and the wounded bat just as he had seen Sonic apparently turn to look in his direction.
"Sonic, stop!!" he shouted as loudly as he possibly could, even though he highly doubted the hedgehog would even hear him. "There's no need for all this!"
Super Sonic didn't even seem to hear him at all. His crimson eyes maintained focus on the canine.
"Haku!! Come back here!!" shouted another voice some distance away.
As Knuckles turned to look, he saw a white echidna of about 12 years of age slowly walking to almost where Sonic was floating. Following behind him was a light orange female echidna around 18 years of age.
"Kanal!" he yelled out.
Kanal looked over to Knuckles at once. "Knuckles!"
"Kanal, take Haku and get away from here! It's dangerous!!"
---
Tails still circled around Station Square, trying to find a place to land the Tornado; he was lucky to still be in the air after that storm suddenly started up. Unfortunately, he was having trouble controlling the old pile of junk, and he could barely see with all the rain in his eyes.
"Come on," he said to himself under his breath. "Hang in there..."
---
"No way!! I'm not leaving you here!" Kanal shouted back. "What are you doing here, anyway?!"
"Now's not the time!!" Knuckles spat, losing his temper. "Get out of here!"
Sorry! I knocked the enter key, and posted an incomplete post!
Rig's communicator buzzed in as he stood in the ruins of the Mobian base. "Rig!" came Doctor Eggman Robotnik's voice over the top-secret airwaves. Eggman was one of the best technichians on the planet, matched only by that fox boy of the Mobian army. And soon, the pest would die, and the Doctor would reign supreme in intellect, and then in might.
"There's something happening at these co-ordinates. I need you to take a squad of robots and crush them! Head to the nearest base, fast!"
"Yes sir!" said Rig confidently. Time to prove myself further, he thought.
Flying at his top speeds, the cyborg soon reached his destination, accompanied by several Shadow Androids, Heavy Egg Hammers and several more of Eggman's most powerful robots. He looked up, and saw Super Sonic up in the sky. "Aim for the blade!" suggested Eggman over the comm system. "That sword keeps his power up- if he loses it, he can fall out of his Super form. Steal the sword and smash it with your Power-type claws!"
"Yes sir," whispered Rig, so only the Doctor would hear him. He looked up to Doctor Eggman more than anyone- he'd do anything for the genius inventor who'd employed him and then saved his life. "EGGMAN ARMY- ATTACK!" he yelled, and the hundreds of robots swarmed out, attacking everyone not on their side.

Zofia was at her home with her brother, Amadeus. He'd been stuck in a wheelchair after a mission on the Little Planet that had been doomed to failure from the start. It had seemed simple for the siblings- get as many of the Time Stones as they could. However, when they met the GUN army, it all went wrong. The stupid humans had shot at the Time Stone, and in the resulting explosion, Amadeus, three years his sister's junior, and shorter than her also, had lost his legs. Zofia, on the other hand, had experienced something incredibly strange. After the explosion, she had vanished, and Amadeus took her for dead and mourned her. However, something far more surreal had happened. A fragment of the Time Stone had lodged itself into her arm, and tiny though it was, it had caused her to travel back in time to the age of the savage dinosaur people. After a long ordeal, she managed to use her new Time Travel ability return herself to her own time, five weeks after her "death".
"Sis," said the Windfall brother, sitting in his hovering chair, which had a computer system built into it. "There's trouble at Station Square. Super Sonic... THE Sonic... he's..." Amadeus' voice began to faulter. He'd always looked up to Sonic, but now, with this genocide, how could he support the horrid beast the former hero had become? "He's gone nuts in Station Square- killing human civilians like crazy..."
"I can't let him do that!" exclaimed Zofia. "I may die trying, but I have to stop him. Not all is fair in love and war, but obviously he doesn't see that!" Suddenly, Zofia's voice became low and echoing as she muttered, "Past."
A flash of blue light appeared, and she was sent swirling through the time stream. Time Travelling always took a bit out of her, but she didn't care- what mattered was stopping this genocide. Arriving about an hour behind when she left, Zofia headed to Station Square, and with the time she'd made up by warping back, she got to there about as soon as she'd left.
"Sonic! You have to stop!" she yelled, half-expecting the hedgehog to ignore her. "This isn't right! These are civilians! THEY'VE DONE NOTHING TO US!!!" After shouting at the top of her voice, she gulped, expecting Sonic to fly down and kill HER too.
Ants, they're all running around like ants. This place isn't what I remember, Sonic is insane and Tails isn't anywhere to be seen... A thought suddenly crossed his mind. Tails was gone, Sonic was insane. If he'd... Stop it. Even if he'd killed the kid there is nothing I can do now, revenge is stupid and killing is pointless. Warden are beyond things so petty.
Kenji closed his eyes and took in a few breaths, he was still in control of the area, if he needed to he could physically stun these insane people. He let the rain hit his head feelings the drops and tuning out the increasing wars around him. Focus, I can't let myself act like these others, I'm the Kenji, I'm not a tool to be used in some petty squabble. The war between the humans and mobians is not my concern right now.
Suddenly something hit him, a feeling of panic. The Kydane race was partially empathic, although they had no telekinetic and very limited telepathic abilities they did have a sixth sense. Kydane could actually sense the emotions of those around them. That was exactly what this was, but it seemed to be above him. Again his sense was limited so he couldn't tell were it was, but he knew it was in the air. And the feeling was very familiar, as if he knew the person. He looked up, straining to see anything that could be the source of the panic.
As more people descended to murder the mobian it caught something moveing out of the clouds and around the outside of the storm. An aircraft, one that was unmistakeable, "The Tornado." The breathed in relief. But he tensed, if he allowed the storm to disperse he'd lose the control he had over this situation, in which case more people may die. But if he maintained the storm Tails may not be able to stay aloft, and any other attacks he used may kill Tails in the process. For someone like Rico that only left one choice.
The rain became a drizzle, the clouds started to disperse. It had been five years since he'd been here. Back then he was alone, not he was Kenji. Back then he had one voice in his head, now he had the voices of every Kenji before him. But even through all that, he couldn't bring himself to threaten the first person that didn't look at him with suspicion.
The tempest started to fade as quickly as it had come. Kenji strolled up near Zofia was a distant look on his face and drew an almost ornamental looking curved oriental styled sword with jeweled blue shield shaped sapphires on the bottom of the pommel and center of the hilt. "I'm sorry, I can't stop them."
Tails looked down at the steadily unfolding scene below him as he circled around in the plane. He became uneasy seeing Sonic in the center of this whole mess.
He spotted a familiar figure down below, one he hadn't seen in a long time.
"Rico..."
He definitely had to land this bi-plane now...

Haku wasn't listening to the ongoing argument between Knuckles and Kanal. He continued to gaze at Sonic, who apparently seemed oblivious to all that was around him.
Is this what you really want, Sonic? To destroy innocent humans who've done no wrong to you?
Sonic cast a chilling glance at the child, eyes narrowed.
You... why are you here?
Haku met this glare with his own determination, and stood his ground firmly. I want to know... exactly why you go and do things like this... it's not right... it's not you...
No longer, am I Sonic the Hedgehog Haku. From now, I am Sonic the Nightmare.
Sonic had never remained in his Super Form for this long, he felt the new power surging through him.
Phsychic energy, he sensed, in the distance, an Eggman Robot. Ready to take his sword from him. He launched a huge enegy wave in that direction. The beam probably would not connect but should provide a suitable distraction.
Kenji, Haku, you weren't expecting this, were you? Neither was I. I do this because, the world drives me too. It made me the demon I now am, and I shall punish it for creating me. Kanal, you remember the last time don't you? This time will be worse, much worse. Though, none of you need worry right now. I'm only interested in one being. Father, I'm coming for you.

Eggman was suddenly heard Sonic's voice play through his mind, a menacing tone, truly spine-tingling.
Father, I'm coming for you.
"So you know." Eggman said to himself.

"Damn." Hiran awoke, he rose from the floor and turned around just in time to see Sonic vanish.
"As much as you may hate it Kenji, I doubt music will calm this savage beast." He said. "I'm sorry, Kenji, but we need to at least disable him."

Jason recieved a message from Robotnik, a note of extreme fear in his voice. "Forget GUN, forget the Mobians, kill Sonic at any cost!"
Kanal, you remember the last time don't you? This time will be worse, much worse.
Kanal froze when she heard Sonic's voice in her mind. Ignoring Knuckles' now ongoing rant about him being worried about her, she looked past him at Haku standing up ahead.
The alien clamped his jaw, talking through his teeth, "Kill him if thats your desire. Thats not Sonic. Though I don't like be lied to, and apparently finding your sibling was not the only reason for you being here."
He sighed look at the younger newcomers, "I mean that literally. I'm not sure where he learned the name Kenji, but Sonic doesn't know me by the name of some religious avatar." The canine gritted his teeth and glanced up at the plane searching for a landing place.
"We should meet up with Pixel Brain, find out what the hell is going on here. Maybe then I won't feel like the humans are right." As he ended the sentence the GUN soldier emerged his voice carrying through the wind, "You know you don't mean that, Koibito."
Kenji froze, the fear returned as he spun around to face his bodyguard. "What did you say?" The human blinked and furrowed his brow, "I said I know you don't mean that. After this display of barbar-" Kenji cut him off barking out loudly, "What did you CALL me?" The human blinked again cocking his head, "Ambassador?"
The canine looked around somewhat confused, "I thought I heard... nevermind. Go back to the ship, return to HQ and tell your C.O. I need more information on the Mobians so I will be monitoring them for awhile. I'll return when I have the information I need."
The human looked disappointed, "I was hopeing to learn more about you though. More about the Warden." Again Kenji narrowed his eyes, "I don't know what you're talking about, return to the ship and leave." He snorted and turn back to the others.
The human's pouting expression turned to a smile, "Whatever you say, Koibito." He turned and walked off, leaving a low voice suddenly echoing in Kenji's head, "Nolui manero in memoria."
The canine suddenly looked sick, muttering out in a very weak voice, "Where is that plane landing?"
Hiran was hit by another revalation, a very disturbing one.
"Kenji, she was the only reason I came here, but I'm also bound by my species' nature to stop the premature exstinction of any other species, mine has worked too hard creating them." Hiran said. "Lying isn't my style."
"It is Sonic, you know. The Sonic you knew, was a fake, a false personality implanted in him for the sake of the planet, but the program has gone down. His true personality is shining through. Sonic, was the largest mistake made by the Robotnik family." Hiran sighed. "He was originally designed to help Ivo conquer the planet, but implanting malicous personalities is harder than implanting benevolent ones, Ivo overdid it, and Sonic was born insane. Then he added a benevolent one, to stop him destroying the world.
The problem was, the malicous personality was too strong, Sonic was bound for multiple personality disorder from 5 days into his existence. One personality was phsychotic, and with the potential for power Sonic had, he was never going to be easy to deal with. The last time he almost killed that female echidna over there." Hiran pointed at Kanal as he said that last line.

Sonic sensed the location of Father, and appeared there.
"Father." He said.
"Sonic!" Eggman yelled.
"Father, why?" Sonic said quietly, and then suddenly his voice exploded;"WHY DID YOU MAKE ME THIS MONSTER?!"
____________________________________________________________
Eggman looked at Sonic with pity.
"When I created you, I attempted to make you malicous and loyal to me, I failed. You became TOO malicous. You were insane and evil. And powerful, you were as dangerous as they came."
"So you made me, to conquer the world?
"Yes."
"You selfish bastard."
"Sonic, I attempted to change your personality to a benign one, but all I did was add one. You became, more unstable, but safer." Robotnik rose from his seat and walked to his window. "You know why this conflict started?"
"The humans became afraid of the Mobians, there were too many, and we were more powerful." Sonic answered.
"No, it was you. I told GUN about your personality defects."
"You did WHAT?!"
*CHINK*
The sword the alien was holding dug into the dirt, acting as a makeshift crutch for him. It took some time before the words assembled themselves and made sense in his brain. The recent events had put fear into him. Sonic's fall made him flinch, for a moment he had been overcome with selfdoubt. Hearing the words the human had said, hearing his voice, sent a chill down his spine that he hadn't felt for a long time. He prayed it was all in his head and tried to shrug it off.
"You don't seem to mind killing Terran's. Are they beneath you?" He said shakily, still trying to regain composure. He didn't make mention of what the other alien had said about Sonic, he hadn't fully absorbed it yet. Instead he saw the plane heading down, pulled the weapon out of the ground, shook his head to try to clear it more, then replaced the archaic sword in its sheath and headed for the landing zone, it seemed only a few miles away.
Haku listened carefully to what this seeming strange bat had said, but he couldn't seem to grasp what he had heard about Sonic...
----
Tails found a clearing not too far from where he had seen the others in the mess that used to be Station Square.
He managed to land safely a short distance away from some bushes, though the ground was bumpier than he thought it to be. Turning off the engine on the Tornado, the double tailed fox buried his face in his hands.
"Sonic..."
It wasn't long before Sonic realized he couldn't kill Father, he was programmed to be incapable, at least he could hurt him.
Sonic, launched a large bolt of lightning at Father, causing him massive pain.
OOC: Flashback time, people,! It's a brief one, though.

Kanal sank to the ground on her knees and stared blankly into the sky. She'd never felt so weak... not in such a long time...
-
"Sonic! What are you doing?" Kanal rushed towards the azure hedgehog as soon as she saw him.
"Kanal, get back!! He's got a sword!" Knuckles took off after her.
The next moment that occurred was a blur. Sonic, slowly turning to look at Kanal, took a step forward and ran the blade he held through the teenage echidna, letting her fall to the ground as he removed it.
"Kanal...!" Knuckles voice shouted.
As she felt her life slipping away, the last thing Kanal saw were cold, emotionless eyes look down at her, which seemed to glow with the flames.
"Stay out of my way, or I'll kill you..."
***
OOC: Hope that was okay, I'll edit if needed.
OOC: Yeah, it was fine.
Hiran walked over to the female echidna, 'Kanal'.
"Are you OK?" He said. No revalations came, Hiran was dissapointed.
_
Sonic and Father stood at a large window, looking at the cities ahead.
"Sonic, I've got a question for you." Father said. "Is, the benevolent Sonic still in there?"
"Yes." Sonic replied, a dark tone gripped his voice. "In fact, he's coming back. But he's wiser now." Sonic looked Father in the eyes. "I've never been in my Super form for this long before. I can feel each individuals emotions. Everyone is suffering, even those unnaffected by the war. It touches me, that's why I'm back. I don't want them to suffer like this. But there is only one way, to end their suffering..."
"No." Robotnik whispered desperately; "NOOO!"
Kanal looked up at the bat, just noticing that he was standing behind her.
"Um... yeah," she said in a soft voice, glancing back at the ground. "I'm fine..."
Truthfully, she didn't feel that way. She felt rather sick to her stomach, in fact...
"Kanal," Knuckles' voice spoke
"Hm?"
"Were you and Haku able to...?" The red echidna scratched at his head, and his face turned slightly red.
"No," Kanal answered befor he had a chance to finish. "If you were so worried about her, why didn't you go in the first place?"
"Kanal, you know I--"
"You have no idea what I've gone through," Kanal interrupted again, her voice breaking. "Some lunatic Mobians took Haku hostage...."
"I'm glad you're OK, Kanal. It means you can help me kill the Hedgehog." Hiran said.
Kanal's eyes widened when she heard those words. "K-kill?" she stuttered.
"What the hell are you thinking?!" Knuckles roared. "There's no way she's helping you do anything, you crazy bastard!" He cast a sideways glace at the adolescent. "She's too young. She's just a kid."
"Now, wait a minute!" Kanal exclaimed. "I'm not a child anymore, Knuckles! I'm 18!"
"I don't care!" Knuckles turned away and began walking away. "Come on, now. We've got a plane to catch."
"Sonic has always been this monster." Hiran said. He repeated what he said to Kenji.
"You and the child are the only ones capable of stopping him." Hiran said. "If he doesn't die, everyone else will."
"Kanal! Haku!!" came Knuckles shout from afar.
Haku, who had been gazing at the sky until now, was slightly startled by the outburst and turned his head to the older red echidna.
Kanal was still trying to understand all those things she heard about Sonic.
"You and the child are the only ones capable of stopping him. If he doesn't die, everyone else will."
"But there has to be another way... I can't drag Haku into this!" Kanal replied sadly. "Besides... it's not like I'd be of any help to you, anyway..."
"You'd be surprised, besides, would Haku listen to me?"
"Haku, might be able to destroy the dark side of Sonic, it's a long shot, and Haku would probably die in the process, that's all I can think of. You domn't wanna do that. You have to choose, Haku, or Sonic."
Yes.
Haku had just heard his name being mentioned as he headed over to where Knuckles was waiting, and paused to look at Hiran and Kanal.
They were talking about something, but what was it?
Seeing the grim look on Kanal's face, though, the child could only sense that it involved him.
--
"I... I don't know, okay?" Kanal said. "It's just that I want to stop Sonic, but I don't want Haku in all this. He's just 12 years old and he's been through too much in his life! He was held captive by the military most of his life because of his powers. He's been tortured and abused by those bastards!!" Kanal turned her head to see Haku standing some distance away, his eyes staring blankly into hers.
Kanal... what's going on? Knuckles is waiting for us...
