It's been over 4 years since the comic ended. We ran out of things to discuss amongst ourselves, if you have anything you wish to bring up and discuss, feel free to make a topic, you'd be suprised on how quickly us Fleetway Fossils will swarm upon it :)

Ebery now and then there is a small resurgence of posts, then it dies out for another year or so...

...

And anyway, i'm SUPPOSED to be busy updating the site, so the less I post the busier it makes me look... Hopefully :p

we'd have nothing to talk about if we didn't talk about the past.

still feel almost bad when i have to explain to someone how long the comic has been dead for, which is why they find it hard to find. ^^;

Though it's a shame the comic died, like may uk comics, given a lemon, it produced lemonade...

Still, this forum is a place for nostalgia, speculation, and indeed, my first post =D

Kind of makes me worry about what would have happened after SA1, though. The games became plot heavy at that point, and Kitching was getting pretty self-involved on all the adaptions by then, whereas the S3&K adaption was sheer PERFECTION, Flicky's Island and Sonic Adventure only served to boost Kitching's Drakon induced ego.

I'm sure he'd have linked the Black Arms to the Drakon Empire somehow given the chance, not to mention replaced GUN Commander with Percy Granite... and the less said about SA2 the better, to be honest I'm glad they jumped ship before SA2 Earthised the series. I'm sure they would have had the StC Earth colonise Mobius and have Granite and his men become GUN...

It would have been a garbled mess.

well, i just cant take it that i was a thick kid, and that my parents never kept me to one intrest.(even if it was boyish. i liked sonic when i was a kid my parents say its for boys their answer for every thing)

now i want to know more about it and really it feels too late.:( :( :x

i feel confused... not really related to the subject. no?

sonic adventure 1 (i got the dirctors cut dont think it was any diffrent from the original sonic adventure 1 except it was a dreamcast game) i thought it didnt make sence, especily when the parts were simalar to sonic x.

That's because Sonic X was based on Sonic Adventure 1 and even adapted the plot of it for episodes 27-31

eh..but the cartoon says that the get transported or something to the world they end up in and the game says nothing so, peolpe who buy the game and doesnt watch the cartoon will "say wot the i thought they were in a world where all the people are animals?". but then agein its is a diffrent cartoon from the old ones,

I said "based on" not a direct adaption of. It's more faithful than the other cartoons, anyway.

Flickies Island, I can sort of see your point, but Sonic Adventure? Readers wanted to see more on what happened to the echidnas and the Drakon's involvement in the Chaos Emeralds, so he gave them it (some of it anyway).

The Drakon's last appearence before the Chaos arc was #125, so it's not like we were getting a Pendechidnas situation or anything.

Two world-conquering alien races who both have an interest in Mobius and the Chaos Emeralds? It'd be hard for the Drakons not to have some link with the Black Arms, at least as rival groups that glare at each other.

Plus a link between Drakons and Black Arms means the two races could have a great big fight over the Emeralds with Mobius caught in the middle, and that sounds like good times to me! ">

not to mention replaced GUN Commander with Percy Granite...

Unlikely. That was Lew Stringer's creation, and Lew & Nigel tended to leave each other's characters alone for the most part.

Under Andy Diggle's editorialship? Very unlikely, since the Earth stuff was Deb Tate's decision (and Diggle didn't have much of an interest in the comic).

Besides, Granite had already tried and got his arse kicked good and proper.

To quote "Jim The RPG Player"

"You know I love it the most because I rant about it most"

StC was a huge part of my childhood and I still love it to this day, but I'm not a fanboy of anything, if I ever find a series, game or movie which is 100% flawless, I'll just give up life because there wont be any point in watching/reading anything else :p

I hated the Drakon Empire and the way they were responsible for almost everything that happened after issue 100 (even Shanazar was due to the whole Robotnik God story), I believe I'm in my right to do so. I don't see anyone lynching people and saying their not fans if they disliked Norris Wimple or The Channelhoppers. I didn't like a specific story or the way that a writer dealt with it. It makes me no less of a fan.

DO NOT BLASPHEME! DO NOT BLASPHEME! [/Daleks]

Technically, the Robotnik The God, Shanazar et al were the result of Robotnik's actions rather than the Drakon's. He played them quite successfully.

I'm seconding Craig against the "blasphemy" accusations.

The sort of StC fan I am is one who actually wanted to see the plots change to reflect the way that the game plots'd changed and Sega's own concepts being the focus, rather than disappearing up its - or rather Kitching's - rear end.

I don't consider myself a "disloyal" fan for voicing what I consider to be something that I was concerned was bringing the level of the franchise down.

That would involve Sega actually informing STC what the game plots and concepts specifically were and taking an interest, which reportedly they'd stopped ages ago. Either Sega expected the comic crew to play the games to the finish instead of working or didn't give a toss, either way it wasn't going to lead to new concepts being used.

Plus readers said they wanted to see more of the Drakons and the echidna stuff.
