I'm kind of upset about that....the NGPC is a great system, but it now it seems I'll never know that first hand. I wanted to get a hold of SNK vs. Capcom, too. x_x

I heard that SNK was pulling out of the US completely. Meaning not just recalling of NGPC hardware and software, but no new arcade games, either. I was looking forward to SNK vs. Capcom in the arcades, but I think Capcom is handling that version so it should be okay.

All this because of Nintendo....damn. The Game Boy Color has very few color games, and among them, very few good ones. Most of them are horrible ports that don't belong on a GB. Most of them are a complete waste of space. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in a game? "Get a Clue" it's called. Fitting. Nintendo seems to get the clue that as long as they got the marketing whore that is Pokemon, they don't need to put much effort into decent GB games. Damn shame. At least they're doing a great job with the 64.

Speaking of lack of effort, on to the X-Men movie. The scrpit was written 3 years ago, apparently, which would explain the inconsistencies with the series, but some dat back beyond 3 years. Not to mention the preview show I was watching had an interview with the director, and he uttered words that immediately turned me off to watching the movie. "I've never read the comics."

Good lord, Fox Kids proves time and again what happens when you base something on a comic that no one knows the intricate details of. Here's a few of the problems, even though some are forgivable.

Cyclops- I heard/read he's dead. This happened very recently so I can understand this being overlooked. He was the orignal X-Man. The very first recruit. Form the looks of the movie, everyone seems to come on at once. Beast, Iceman, and Angel (no longer Archangel) are noweher to be found, it seems.

Wolverine- Lost his admantium. But retains his claws. Yes, they're bone. He's always had them, but apprently they never came out until they had been fused with adamantium. At least they hired an actor who can do an accent seeing as how Wolvie's from Canada.

Jean Grey- Personally....she's always been the most boring member of the X-Men. Sure she's telekinetic, but there really is much that can be done with that in an entertaining way. At least not in ways kids can see. Huh huh.

Rogue- A lot of people don't know that Rogue was originally an enemy of the X-Men. Even then, she had the bleached stripe. Where the hell is it now? I can't tell her from Jean Grey at times. She'd better have that Southern accent, too. I didn't get to hear any of her lines.

Storm- Drama queen. She just tries too hard and I always found that funny. They got her in her old uniform and hairstyle, though. She cut her hair except for two really long bangs and her costume is no longer full body. (woo-hoo!)

The Blackbird- They're still using the orignal design based on the SR-71 stealth plane of the same name. It was more than 3 years ago that Xavier asked Forge to build a new Blackbird.

Prof X- Patrick Stewart. The man who was casted by Wizard magazine for that role. Personally I can't see anyone else but him. He's got the actig ability and bald head to match. Hehe. No hoverchair, though...and he's had that for more than 3 years.

Gambit, Psylocke, Bishop, Angel, Beast, Iceman- Where the hell are they?! Colossus, Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, and Jubilee have been on-and-off with X-Men, though...but no Gambit?!?! He's the 2nd most popular X-man!! Geez!!

Magneto (it's Mag-NEE-toh, people)- Old anfd feeble. He lost almost all of that intimidation he would have otherwise had. Magneto, despite his age, is VERY buff. It's kind of unbelieveable, but jeez. He looks like he can be defeated with Wolvie simply sneaking up behind him and yelling "boo" rendering him helpless with cardiac arrest (a heart attack.)

Sabretooth and Mystique- The director proves he's never read the comics because the movie highlights Wolvie's fight with him. And Mystique is NOT a lizard. Her skin and eyes are merely discolored. Wolvie and Sabre don't do as much fighting as a wannabe-fan would think. BTW, yes Nightcrawler is Mystique's biological son. So is (or was, rather) Victor Creed, Sabretooth's son.

Toad- I admit I don't know much about him because he hasn't been making of an impact (not to mention appearences) since his debut as a charter member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Whew.

I admit, the leather outfits are a superb touch, and maybe the movie isn't for a true X-fan, but then, anything and everything in this country must be bastardized because it's all about the mighty dollar.

End rant.
