Alright, we all know one simple fact about videogames- if they make a movie about it, it just plain sucks. I mean, come on, what about the Mario Bros. movie? It wasn't even about the Mario Bros., but more as a movie "based" on it, or as my friend says "An artistic interpretation of it. I like it that way". But we don't want an "interpretation" of the game, we want some goomba squashing! ^_^

But maybe there is some hope for them. I mean, some videogames just scream "I NEED TO BE A MOVIE!!!!" So, what are these games?

I'll start off with Sonic since this is a Sonic message board.

Sonic Adventure

Sonic Adventure, based SOLEY on the game (no Archie characters) would make an ok animated flick. It would probably be better as computer animated, however, as the original was 3D. One thing remains, though. There was some plot to Sonic Adventure, but they'd have to tweak it a bit to make a real movie. I think a better Sonic movie would be….

Sonic the Hedgehog

Archie style. 'Nuff said.

Hmm, this would be odd, but what about a Mega Man movie?
I mean, think of what you could do with that! It would be a cool live action or even live action/computer animation hybrid movie.

Final Fantasy, the most popular RPG ever made (arguably) would be a cool movie, I would imagine. NOW, I KNOW OF THIS FF MOVIE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING MADE, but it's not even based on any of the games, it just has the FF name on it. Oh, and maybe they'll put some of those freaking chocobos in it and call it a FF movie. πŸ˜›

Ok, this now brings me to the two most deserving videogames to be movies. I'll start with #2.

#2- RESIDENT EVIL

Ok, I'll admit it. The very first game had very little plot. The second one had a bit more. I've actually never played #3, but since it takes place at the same time #2 did, I'll assume it had some plot. But the most deserving is Capcom's masterpiece, Resident Evil Code: Veronica. Even though I'm not even half way through the game, I know that this game has SO MUCH PLOT IT WILL EXPLODE! I mean, the PLOT TWISTS! AH! THIS GAME IS SO FREAKING DESERVING OF A MOVIE!! AAAAAH!

Ok, I again know that this game has had some concept scripts, and from what I've heard, they're bloody awful. Apparently, they were both just the standard "Run away from rampaging monsters while you slash some to pieces" movie. Now, since RE 1 doesn't have that much of a deep plot, this type of movie would fit with that game.

But, if they want a movie with plot (which I doubt they'll do) they should skip all the other games and go to RE 4, Code: Veronica. All they would have to do is to a quick back-story segment on what happened in the first Resident Evils and it would be perfect.

Ok, what you've been waiting for this whole time…The NUMBER ONE DESERVING VIDEOGAME MOVE IS NONE OTHER THAN…
