During the gamescom Opening Night Live stream hosted by Geoff Keighley, SEGA of America revealed two new trailers for upcoming Sonic games: Sonic Superstars and Sonic Frontiers.
Sonic Superstars
- Sonic Team announced that Sonic Superstars will be released on October 17, 2023.
- The game will be available for pre-order physically and digitally on various platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, starting at $59.99 USD.
- The latest trailer displayed more gameplay details for Sonic Superstars, showcasing features like local co-op and Battle Mode.
- The game will allow up to four players to play the campaign together in local co-op, with drop-in and drop-out functionality. Additionally, Battle Mode will enable online play with up to seven players or local play with up to three players.
- A Digital Deluxe edition of the game was announced, including the base game, a LEGO Fun Pack with character skins for Amy, Tails, and Knuckles, Battle Mode levels, Sonic Rabbit skin, Mecha Sonic parts for Battle Mode, wallpapers, a digital artbook, and a mini-OST, priced at $69.99 USD.
- Pre-ordering options for the game, including Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, are available at sonicsuperstars.com. Pre-orders come with an exclusive in-game LEGO Eggman character skin, and all players will receive a free LEGO Sonic skin at launch.
